DEAR ME:
I am sorry. I'm sorry that you tried so desperately to fix others, when your own hands were shaking. I'm sorry that I didn't give you enough time to heal, that I let you seal the wounds of everyone else whilst your own we're bleeding. I'm sorry that there were days when smiling hurt but you forced yourself to laugh so that no one had to worry about you. I'm sorry that you have all of you your time and effort to people that didn't give the same back. I'm sorry that there were nights when you cried yourself to sleep and no one bothered to understand why. And I'm so sorry that I did not love you, like you deserved to be loved.

A History through Vinyl
Tumblr media
Back in the day, in my earliest recollections of music, there is one vivid memory that stands out. As I sat in front of the television, a mesmerising figure appeared before my eyes. It was Afrika Bambaata, a man who seemed to have descended from another galaxy and exuded an aura of a space age prophet. It was in that moment, watching Bambaata on the full technicolour TV during the 80s, that my young mind began to grasp that we was living in a remarkable future.
Then a peculiar anachronism unfolded before my very eyes, and it was somewhat linked to my brother's unexpected shift in music preference, taking a step back in time.
During the early years of the 1980s, my brother and his group of friends found themselves deeply immersed in the captivating allure of the American street culture, indulging in the realms of hip hop, break dancing, and graffiti art.
However, at some juncture, my brother's musical taste took a surprising turn as he began to amass a collection of vinyl records featuring classic rock and older music, appearing to defy the contemporary norms of the era.
I vividly recall the first sign of this peculiar transformation when he made the decision to revamp our shared bedroom. One by one, he adorned the walls with meticulously placed postcards displaying revered album covers and legendary artists, turning our room into a gallery of icons like Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, and films like Stanley Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange."
It was as if a mesmerising time warp had taken hold of my brother's taste, leading him towards older rock and genres. Among his favorites were Pink Floyd, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix and The Who.
In London the emergence of a new growing hip taste marked a significant departure from mainstream trends. It was an era where I personally witnessed the transformative power of music in shaping one's identity and taste. This phenomenon introduced me to the concept of the 'teenage thing', where an individual's music preferences underwent a dramatic shift.
The rise of this phenomenon signified not only a desire to be part of a particular sub-culture, but also a yearning to explore styles that deviated from the mainstream. Previously, there had been a noticeable shift towards a glamorous and materialistic society which had its attendant hoi-polloi with their conformist tendencies. However, this emerging movement manifested as a distinct alternative scene, fiercely rejected this.
Simultaneously, this movement was regarded as more upwardly mobile, emphasising the importance of intellectual astuteness, exclusivity, cultured and literary aspirations like Jack Kerouac becoming significant again. This lofty stance was epitomised by influential figures such as Morrissey from The Smiths, who endorsed a similar worldview.
A new fashion movement evolved and a reciprocal relationship developed between the developments on the streets of London and the trends showcased in influential fashion magazines like The Face and I.D. Magazine, which predominantly focused on the London scene. It is undeniable that my brother wholeheartedly embraced this change. These publications provided an alternative response to the dominant mainstream preferences, such as the 80s soul scene.
Furthermore, the emergence of prominent bands such as The Smiths, U2, and Simple Minds had a significant impact. It is worth noting that punk retained its influence, alongside independent record labels like Rough Trade and the nascent Creation Records, which eventually birthed influential bands such as Primal Scream and Oasis. Alongside these musical influences, the movement was further propelled by its association with iconic fashion styles, all of which played a crucial role in this growing movement.
This movement eventually paved the way (or gave way to) the explosion of acid house and the indie scene, characterised by a deliberate homage to hippie culture and psychedelic rock, while propelling us forward into the future once again.
During this time, people rebelled against mainstream tastes and this allowed the young people to dictate the trends. Small businesses, subcultures, and independent venues thrived, creating a sense of belonging and community within the movement.
Capitalism and corporations eventually adapted and absorbed these outliers, but for a time, it was a true alternative, made by the people themselves. The impact of this movement would go on to inform the hipster culture of London in recent years, showing the everlasting influence of this unique moment in time.
In conclusion, the peculiar anachronism that unfolded before my eyes, intertwined with my brother's unexpected shift in music preference, was a manifestation of a larger movement that defied contemporary norms. A similar movement happened in the U.S with Heavy Metal & Grunge but with a different emphasis on aspirations. It challenged mainstream tastes, embraced individuality, and paved the way for alternative expressions. This transformative period in music showed that things could move back as well as forward. It shaped and formed the identities not just of individuals but of the city of London for years to come.

Knihy o živote, 2013
5kníh, autorská kniha, denníková tvorba, zberateľstvo, koláž, kombinovaná technika
Denníky som nosila všade so sebou. Boli tvorené spontánne, bez autocenzúry. Ich vystavenie a prezentácia svetu nebola pôvodný zámer.
Vypovedajú o živote mladého dievčaťa, ktoré sa ocitá v novom prostredí mesta Košice na vysokej škole a internáte. Toto nové prostredie jej spôsobuje kultúrny šok. Intímne výpovede o vzťahoch s ľuďmi, expresívne texty, kresby a koláže vytvárajú ucelený dojem z jej prežívania.
Books about life, 2013
5 books, art book, diary , collecting, collage, combined technique
I carried these diaries everywhere. They were created spontaneously, without self-censorship. Their exposure and presentation to the world was not the original intention.
They speak about the life of a young girl who finds herself in a new environment in the city of Košice at university and in a dormitory. This new environment causes her a cultural shock. Intimate testimonies about relationship with people, expressive texts, drawings, and collages create a comprehensive impression of her experiences.

artist statement (March 2023)
It starts as a daydream. A place I would rather be.
My work is rooted in my fascination with the phenomenological.
My practice is expanding beyond just painting on canvas, where now, exploration in sculpture and technology is facilitating this space-rock, psychedelic pop, magic carpet ride.
I am inspired by the ephemeral and visionary space we visit in our heads when we hear our favorite music or flashback to a sweet memory. Essentially, the moments on Earth that successfully subvert the melancholy and take you on a fantastic voyage.
My existence is heavily influenced by fantasy-world-building internet societies like Webkinz World and Club Penguin. Ever since I was able to hold a crayon, I have been escaping for hours at time to construct my own psychedelic reality.
With an innate fluorescent color palette and attraction to the artificial, craft materials like glitter glue, acrylic paint, and papier Mache effectively allow me to explore scale and material intuitively.
My hope is to can create an accessible space that invites viewers to escape reality and envision a future that is as radical and abundant as the work itself. I want to turn the white/cube gallery into a sort of amusement park. To create experiences and push the absurd.
We are all made of stardust.
Minute specks of glittering dust that hold together to create this infinite crystal universe of wonder, delight, pain, humor, and exploration.Join me in filling the void with glitter. Let us spray paint its insides neon pink, coat it in resin, and negate the space between the wonderful and the repulsive.

Cómo no devenir nube.

Flashlight in hand, the guard pushes out onto the grounds of the big house. The cold dew from the grass hits his ankles; there hadn't been time to put on his socks. “Damn that crazy old bastard,” he mutters. “Nothin' but trouble since the moment they put him in here.” His mind fills with images of the second-floor guests, round-eyed with fascinated shock, listening to the Old Man's tales of his past sins. Peace had fled the floor with his coming. The first month they'd thought the Old Man could help in the kitchen and use his years of experience, but when his captive audience heard about the pranks he'd pulled as a chef, they all refused to eat. They let him work in the garden, where his dark mind could do less harm. His influence continued to grow, despite efforts to isolate him. His presence invaded the afternoon card games, bringing argument and strife. Seeds of doubt he planted blossomed in their dreams into full-blown, noxious night flowers. His company was inescapable. The guard shines his light on the circular stone reservoir. He shivers at the reflection of a lone star in the surrounding blackness of the garden. Beneath the water's surface, the Old Man's open eyes gaze heavenward. No more secrets escape his open lips. The white body is translucent, as if the dark, cold water could pass through his skin. A large rock rests on his sternum, held tightly by purplish, arthritic fingers that refuse to relinquish their grip on the instrument of his last great act of will. The Night Gardner’s Escape, 1995, oil and egg tempera on canvas, 48 × 64 inches, 4 am in The Hours of the Day series, San Jose Museum of Art [When the Orange County Museum of Art showed my Hours of the Day series in 2000, I was asked by Director Naomi Vine to explain each painting for the catalogue. I set aside a full day to work on art and artwriting stuff and proofreading and I ruin it all because I cried my eyes out last night and now have a pounding headache.
I'm sorry to mediumsp00n on the Centaurworld discord server for having to hear all this dreck.

What it is is Post Warwickshire, what postwarwickshire is is…
Here, the seperable formal elements Post + Warwickshire turn into a minor, coalesced form-  ‘postwarwickshire’; in the process, they lose their distinction and capitalisation to become a new, discrete concept. In postwarwickshire writing, this trope is repeated often. I'll show you what I mean from my own work:
“What it is is consistent research practice;
What consistentresearchpractice is is getting fucked then dumped” (Superstrings Symposium C.R.P I (fucked then dumped) )
“What it is is Art Writing, what artwriting is is
Dot dot dot” (Dot Dot Dot: (Hard Up) )
“A bung on the opening, metalplastic
Sterile, metal or plastic. Excellent” (Superstrings Symposium C.R.P II (I am washed up and wired) )
“I’m waxing outta gender,
With scenes
Fresh from F in San F
(foucault in sanfransisco)” (Dot Dot Dot: (Hard Up) )
“We were looking at your messed up corpse- maybe
More than mangled flesh, John,
We were looking at your World View.” (In Tentative Intrigue with John Isaacs)...
“Bridging the gaps between discrete individuals is your worldview, but
I want to help you cut the gas somewhere before we all become mass again.” (Is More Than This More Than This)
Sometimes, they come in threes:
“Connectconnectconnect” (Ladywell, Imagined)
“darkanddeviant”
“womidwimpundwoomud” (Dot Dot Dot: (Hard Up)
Sometimes, the transition/ minoritisation pertains to only one word, and is reflexive, as in the recurring statement on A/adrenaline:
“It is my base instinct to replace Adrenaline with adrenaline (blaaah)
I look at the pathways between blood, synovial and directionless sperm (we know!)
They don’t swim, they crawl (well,)
It is my base instinct to replace Institution with institution.
To tie Taxonomy to taxonomy, like a big network of accused
Replacements of existing treelike taxonomy,
To subtweet all the cometpartners of govanhill,
Replacing Radical with radial, or,
Throwing paint at the wrong shop front cause I don’t understand the signage. ”(In Advance of the Institution)
“It was all contortion, completely–
Contortion, a complete one– (      )
Contortion’s a little taste of danger and death.
We spoke about it at length.
Lieing,
Replacing Adrenaline with adrenaline then back to Adrenaline, smashing faces
Running wild with it, like I said
When I announced so internally that I understood that thing about everything,
About it all just being one singular flat.
It isn’t.” (Superstrings Symposium C.R.P I (fucked then dumped) )
This is to say, the genre-title of postwarwickshire and its hyphenless state is important to the foundation and composition of the work. I am interested in the form of letters, and their varying mischievous applications. When these words gain and lose their capitalisation and discretion, their status changes. In their separated (capital) form, they are 'valid' terms, making sense/ representing meaning on their own. When they are forcibly coalesced and made lowercase, their meanings gain some ambiguity, placing them outside of their original categorisations as words in and of themselves (if that even exists...).
Consistent Research Practice describes something recognisable and 'real', but what is consistentresearchpractice in comparison? It is a new form of practice, one that operates amongst and underneath postwarwickshire. It makes strange the tradition of speech and writing, and twists around within the confines of the English Language, becoming englishlanguage.
At least, that's what I hope it can do.
thank you.
