Big fandoms should allow room for constructive criticism
Why aren't fans in big fandoms allowed room to criticize a work by the artist they supposedly stan though? Cuz isn't that very art something that drew us to them in the first place? I love X's vocals and writing so I stan them, doesn't quite mean I connect on the same level emotionally, spiritually to one work like I did to another one of theirs, when said reason is being clearly stated on WHY we didn't find one particular work as appealing as their rest how does that make one an anti?
I'm not talking about someone who's just being hateful, using crude language though, that's simply hating but when someone clearly explains and criticizes a work with clear description why are the said fandoms shunning the idea in the first place?
Sure we cannot give material to antis to hate on our artists further but how is criticism of artistic choices hating? I love artists A but their work 2 wasn't quite touching, atleast not as much as work 3 or work 1, and I have my reasons such as production, background vocals or lyrics this criticism should be allowed instead of just cancelling people on the internet saying UNSTAN THEN, WE DONT NEED YOU.... No, criticism should be given room, constructive, analytical criticism should. If you're gonna consider your favorite artists a god who can do no wrong then get out of the cult of celebrity worship.
I just think it's time we worship the art, and stick to respecting the artists....

It recently hit me that I dislike it when someone compares my character to an already existing other character, especially if I have drawn fanart. I'm not sure about other artists, but I didn't feel at all flattered when I had drawn this fanart of X character and then someone replied to my artwork 'oh, how cool, your art style reminds me of FMA'. An innocent statement and somewhat flattering, right? Well, when I asked further 'how', they replied 'because your fanart of X-character reminds me of FMA's Y-character'.
And that's the thing I realized I disliked because of this fear I've. I can honestly write I fear experiencing any artistic choices or styles that would deviate too much from the original creator's style because I am scared if someone sees my fanart, they won't be able to tell if it's supposed to be that character that I meant them to be.
Hence, when I see some fan artists drawing fanart in their unique style, I can't help but wonder how they do it. How can they draw in this unique manner that barely resembles the original one, yet you can still say in confidence 'oh, it's that character from Z-series, how neat!' Just how?
Hence, I avoid deviating too much from the original creator's style. Even though at times I want to. At times...I just want to experience different styles, but I feel like if I did... people would look at my artwork and not be able to tell it's that character. Because it would differ too much to be able to tell it's that character...

White Balance
White balance is a good way to change your images. You can select the “proper” or correct white balance. You can also use white balance as a creative tool to warm up your images, say for a nice Autumn look. You can also use white balance to cool your images for say a Winter look.

are you willing to divulge artistic decisions Taylor made which you disagree with? sometimes disagreeing with someone is a way of caring
Tell you what: send me an artistic choice and I'll say whether I agree or disagree with it.

I wanted to know if there was any diversity in Princess Tutu, though I know it's likely not the case.
I never got an answer for that at all. So I can only assume the answer is no.
I mean there are other ethnicities in Japan and other countries so it could have. We can only make our own interpretations I guess.
I absolutely love Princess Tutu anyway.
Edit:
Tumblr media
Kind of yes that does answer me.

I think I need to start dividing "bigger/taller" comics into separate images, here on Tumblr. 🤔
After all, you can always zoom in easily on a handheld device, but computers...? So, be warned that I'm gonna re-post my recent CK64 comic as smaller images, so I can make viewing it a little easier for people (maybe that's why it didn't seem to get as much attention as other stuff?).🌽

"the curtains weren't blue on purpose. why should we care?"
my love! let me ask you this - did you eat breakfast today? this tiny moment in your life. just think about it. did you?
for some of you, the answer is yes and for some of you it is technically and for some of you it is does coffee count. some of you reached for cereal or gmo-free overnight oats or frozen waffles or 3-day-old pizza. sometimes we eat the same thing, every day, for weeks. i get tired of eggs randomly, only to go back to craving them desperately. i'm cuban; i take my coffee like my father showed me, very milky and sweet.
some of us ate in a hurry. some of us hate eating breakfast but if we don't we will get nauseous later. some of us took our meds first or took our meds after. some of us have a kitchen 5 feet wide and sometimes it's the biggest room in the house. some of us are confident there will be food in the pantry and some of us flinch and say well, the paycheck is coming. some of us turn on a podcast while we eat or we scroll our phones or write in our diaries.
some of us are choosing, specifically, not to eat breakfast. some of us are too busy. some of us are pretending we "just forgot," but we are ignoring the warning signs that everything feels too-heavy. some of us are so consumed with anxiety or grief that we can't eat. some of us can't stand up long enough to make our coffee. some of us have no table to sit down and eat.
i cannot tell you what an artist "meant" by their choices. but they did have to make a choice, conscious or otherwise, to give you information. to give you a little bit more light. each of these choices are little stars of data; connecting speckles for you to weave through, drawing a line.
you cannot use a mirror in a dark room. for some of us; we will not care that the curtains are blue, because that will just be a data point and not enough light to see by. for some of us, the blue curtains will be the same as our childhood bedroom. it will make us seasick. for some of us, blue will be the color of frostbite. it might look like a pixel up close; but from a distance, oh! the picture blooms.
i cannot tell you what will stick out for you. what will carry meaning. some of you will read the sentence "i didn't have breakfast today" and say "this means nothing." some of you will read that and say "oh, me neither." some of you will say "this means the character is probably a little grouchy." some of you will say "oh, i wonder if they're okay. why didn't they eat anything?" ... art is a mirror. i am holding hands with you, over space and time, and asking you to feel something with me.
i want you to read my work and find a blue pair of curtains. i want you to read my work and find things in it that i never imagined placing. i have no way of knowing what will resonate with you, that's true. and maybe i just was hungry while i wrote this, and thinking about the eggs in my fridge. but if you found meaning, that meaning is yours. it cannot be erased just because i didn't "intend" it. you created a different world by interpreting my work. it's collaborative! that's beautiful! that's stunning!
just! imagine looking at the night sky and saying - it's stupid to have a favorite constellation or a favorite star. they're just there.
because here's the thing - across centuries and cultures, we look up. we still find meaning in the stars. these beautiful, lovely scattered accidents. are you looking? they call. and we look back and say oh! of course we are!

look this site really is awful for ppl with OCD so i just wanna reassure anyone that you are not Tainted Forever for consuming a piece of media with questionable content. the fact that youre able to recognize it speaks to your critical thinking skills, which is good, certain depictions should be critiqued. but you dont need to ruminate on it to the point where you begin to feel guilty for simply witnessing gross or creepy writing choices. you dont have to vindicate yourself to the fictional tumblr discourser inside your head, saying that youre now a bad person bc you watched the wrong anime. your actual response to it still matters of course, but thats that and this is this. just seeing it is neutral, you didnt commit a thought crime. its literally fine.
Tumblr media
IF YOU ARE USING THIS POST TO ONLY FURTHER YOUR STUPID PEDANTIC BLACK-AND-WHITE DISCOURSE TO GET A "GOCHA" OVER THE OTHER SIDE YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. DON'T USE OUR DISORDER TO VINDICATE YOUR BEHAVIOR. THOUGHT CRIMES ARENT REAL BUT ACTIONS STILL MATTER. PEOPLE WITH OCD ARE CAPABLE OF THINKING CRITICALLY ABOUT OUR ACTIONS AND RESPONSES, EVEN WITH INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS AND RUMINATIONS. TREATING US AS IF WE CANNOT, ONLY TO FORCE US TO USE YOUR STRINGENT UNNUANCED DISCOURSE OPINIONS ABOUT "PURITY CULTURE" (TRIGGERING TO THOSE WITH OCD) AS THE ONLY REASONABLE GUIDE DOES MORE TO EXACERBATE OUR OBSESSIONS THAN HELP US. YOU ARE THE ISSUE AS WELL. YOU ARE ALSO THE TUMBLR DISCOURSER INSIDE OUR HEADS. DO NOT USE US FOR YOUR DISCOURSE. WE ARE PEOPLE, NOT HYPOTHETICALS TO USE TO EXPLAIN IF YOUR FROZEN INCEST FANFICTION IS OKAY OR NOT. TREATING US AS IF WE CANNOT AUTONOMOUSLY HAVE OUR OWN OPINIONS ON WHEN MEDIA IS TANGIBLY HARMFUL IS ABLEIST. FORCING US TO ABIDE BY YOUR IN-GROUP'S SET OF UNEQUIVOCAL MORALS IS ABLEIST. ACTING AS THOUGH THE ONLY SOLUTION FOR US IS MINDLESS MEDIA CONSUMPTION IN WHICH "EVERY DEPICTION OF XYZ, NO MATTER HOW POORLY DONE OR EXPLOITATIVE, IS ALWAYS OKAY AND IF YOU DISAGREE YOURE ACTUALLY AN EVIL 'ANTI'" IS ABLEIST. THOSE ARE THE SAME BLACK-AND-WHITE MORALS THAT SEND US INTO OBSESSIVE SPIKES, BUT FLIPPED. A SET OF MORALS IN WHICH QUESTIONING THE IMPACT OF A PIECE OF WORK MAKES YOU AN "EVIL CONSERVATIVE PURITAN "ANTI"" DOES NOT HELP MORAL OCD.
YOU ARE THE DAMN TUMBLR DISCOUERSERS MAKING THIS SHIT WORSE FOR US! YOURE THE EXACT SAME BUT WITH FLIPPED BUZZWORDS! YOU'RE MISSING THE WHOLE DAMN POINT!
