You’re invited to attend the reception for Feminine Transgressions, my solo exhibition at Bill Hodges Gallery on Thursday, January 19th from 6pm to 8pm; 529 W 20th Street in NYC.
Feminine Transgressions will include several video installations, film stills, and an installation of 100 watercolor paintings from my film, Birth. This show will be on view until Feb 18th, 2023.

i love graffiti. "comics and jazz are the only american art forms" you forgot graffiti. did you remember graffiti? That art form birthed in Philly and NYC in the early 70s by poor Black kids. that art form that spread all over the world and influenced so many. that's used without irony in commercials when they're trying to appeal to a "young urban" customer.
did you forget graffiti? that racism broken windows theory victim? that reach the establishment takes claiming that it's exclusively violent gang members throwing up those full-color pieces and wildstyle tags in the middle of the night outsmarting fifty security cameras because the billboard was ugly anyway. as if, even if it was, it wouldn't be impressive as all hell. risking brutality and fall damage so your art can occupy the space a gentrified condo named something like "Coluumna" took away from you. proving that despite only assholes affording to live here anymore there's still a soul beneath it. an animal with dripping stripes and teeth that go clack-clack tsssss

Rejunction gathers various ways of seeing, thinking, and making. In the spirit of communion, this exhibition celebrates the collective energy and creative synergy that arises when distinct bodies merge into a whole. I’m very excited to announce that my work is included in a group show at the Tom Kane Theater in Industry City opening this Saturday, March 2, 2024. Here are the details:

The theme of winter blues is so evocative. As usual, I won’t reveal my painting online until after the opening, but I will tell you that it depicts one of my absolute favorite NYC landmark buildings, the Chrysler.
The show will feature the work of over 20 NYC artists, including real gems. You won’t want to miss the fun. Plus, Industry City is so amazing to visit!
