Prior to sending the ask I was just guessing what matrophobia meant based on the root words but I looked it up after and went ohhhh and then you confirmed that extra dimension to it and I went OHHHHH
I think that gets to the heart of what I've been thinking about, that bittersweetness, because despite his best efforts... of course he could never end up anything like Yoko, but he still ended up with an abusive "household." Because in addition to Masato ending up how he did, he has to see those same situations play out, feel that same tension in the air between Jo and Ichi, over and over for almost a decade straight.
Like, in a way, he's forced to put himself in Toshio's shoes when that happens. He can't really get through to Jo, in the same way Toshio can't get through to Yoko, but he can try to step in before lasting damage is done, and he can try to make it bearable for his son. You know. Have a nice talk. Treat him to Peking duck. I'm SO normal about the (drawn-out) parallels of those scenes
So then with Jo... he kind of does become his father, even if he never wanted to (no one wants to), both through his ruinous neglect of Masato at birth and through how he comes to look at discipline and corporal punishment. I'm sure it's not lost on him in Masato's case (owww), but with Ichi, it's not like he has any reason to see him as his son... But How Far Can That Take You.
Because it's like, at the start, he was openly beating Ichi in front of Arakawa and not letting up much when Arakawa intervened. But then you have The Yubitsume Scene and Arakawa walking in on All That and... he looks sorry. Sorry for being caught, probably, but sorry nonetheless. Like... what changed between then and now... have you two had a Heartfelt Conversation... do you know where Arakawa got that scar... are you unable to change your "nature" even then...
Side note bro your SHOE is the size of his TORSO I promise you do not need to kick him with all the strength you've got like what the hell is this 😭😭😭
Tumblr media
BUT ALL THAT ASIDE thank you so much for delving into the symbolism! Wonderful read. I don't really have an eye for symbolism, so that makes it all the more enjoyable to revisit the comic and everything with what you've gone into. I think a lot of your experiences resonate with mine, so conversely I'm not sure what others would take away from it, BUT I think there's enough there that's so insightful and evocative that it's effective without personal experience. I don't think there's anything I could add, so. Yeah. For once I am happy to sit back and take it all in... On that note, definitely looking forward to your next comic!
AUUUGH YEAAAH YEAHEYA HYEAH THAT EXACTLY OUUUGH OWIEE OWW.....
that's literally it though. like no extra notes. except The Obligatory Few i dont think it was an accident that arakawa is set up as the beginning of the game's 'protagonist' and planting that 'troubled family' taste first thing in our mind. i remember how i felt when i first saw arakawa walk in on jo and ichi and then arakawa taking ichi out for dinner i was just like🧍‍♂️Girl No The Cycle.... It's Continuing...... //screams// LIKE UGH IT WAS SO GOOD BUT ALSO OWWW STOPPP and then on the REPLAY it just hurts more cause with the added context to jo's character its like Oh No...... You're Your Father's Son....
and youre right: jo doesn't have an implicit reason to see how he treats ichi is wrong, hence he similarly doesnt have any reason to stop- not unless arakawa intervenes of course (and i will stand outside my window thinking of the possibility arakawa ever did try to have A Conversation with jo... arms folded behind my back and all like Man™️....)
oh but yeah, absolutely no problem ! im lowkey of an egotist so i do like to talk bout the stuff i make. More In Depth (though thats obvious considering the fuckin essays in the tags i always leave ☠️☠️) gerjlgaELKjg. so i was happy to explain ♪(´▽`) !! what i like about symbolism is that it can be intentional or not, and the fun is always finding it just by chance. i cant explain it properly, but i just think its a neat 'seasoning' of sorts to drawings (❁´◡`❁)
#long post#snap chats#everyone in rgg got flipper shoes i stg tho like evey time i look at everyones renders i gotta point it out to myself 😭#speaking of. The Cycle. and Personal Experiences. arakawa walkin in on jo and ichi esp hits cause thats def a thing thats happened to mysel#its insane how one woman terrorizes my whole family but no cause i remember my mom would tear me a new one. Metaphorically#or she'd be pissed at my sis and i and my sis would just take us out for lunch and we'd talk bout it#Unsurprisingly my dad would do that for me growin up and he was there#i used to visit him on weekends when he lived nearby and those were my Peking Duck dinners in a sense#he'd just do his best to make sure i felt at home and making sure. i was cared for for once LMAO#so yeah to see that repeat in my family with my sister taking the role of my dad its like ow...#OH YEAH NO ITS BEEN A HOT YEAR SINCE I SAID HOW HARD IT WAS FOR ME TO GET THROUGH THE BEGINNING OF Y7 HUH#it hurts a lot to watch masumi's backstory since it's EXTREMELY personal and hits too close to home but i watch it anyway 🥴#probably the first and only time a piece of media can actually 'trigger' me that badly i guess. how lame#i think ive updated my villain origin story enough tho. im sorry you also had a shit mom If Im Assuming Right#i wish it was easy to deal with bad parents but. well. if it was we wouldnt have them amiright#the best i can do is vent how i feel and at least try to have people in similar situations as me feel. understood. as corny as that sounds#its a little heinous to say Im Glad Our Experiences Are Similar cause id never wish my experiences on anyone else#but i guess i mean to say im glad we can understand each other in that regard#on a semi-better note. please dont hope for the comic anytime soon i only just finished sketching set pieces ( ´◡` ;;;)#I GOT DISTRACTED AGAAAINNNNN also its very cold and i dont work well in the cold. s'cause my fingers get all stiff EW#but i WILL have this one done i have too many abandoned projects i aint abandoning another one#with that in mind its funny you mention arakawas scar cause i did have a tiny baby thing in mind with it#nothing sad or serious this time just somethin cute even. if THAT ever happens we'll see it but yeah. just another funny case of Timing#alright bye bye for now i should work on this. after i answer your second ask HANG ON ILL SEE YOU THERE--

ok im making you all look at this, this is my essay on all the scenes with Ichimatsu in them from takopa, my explanations of why he does them and what they mean UNDER THE FILTER that Mao exists and this takes place simultaneously during my fic
SO I deffo think that takopa takes place, like, on the day it was released, like the evening they have the party is friday july 21st 2023, SO that would mean it takes place between chapters 9/10 and 11, 9 and 10 being the 'ichi stands mao up' and 'mao is hungover' ones that take place mid july, so im thinking 9/10 probably take place around the 17/18th maybe.... SO at the time of the takopa, Ichi and Mao's relationship is that they are finally officially friends, they know about each others neet/hikikomori status, but arent,,, like super close ... its before the festival chapter, so if that makes any sense
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the first and second images dont have anything to do with Mao, i just think it's cute that hes just basking in the sun like a kitty cat. the second one however, i think ichi stay home 1 bc hes a homebody but 2 bc he spent all his allowance and cant go see mao at the cafe
Tumblr media
ok this is a big one, very loaded. see, his brothers outright ignoring him and not telling him whats going on? well that puts a downright bad and spiteful taste in his mouth, so he's already not going into it with the best attitude
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and HERE!! RIGHT here is when ichimatsu decides to fall right back into his position in the family dynamic as the quiet one who follows along with the others, the one who takes the backseat approach to the dynamic. if his brothers are doing something, hes always just going to follow along to an extent to keep the status quo
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ok so, ichi, like a cat, reserved to the idea of new ppl being in the house (nyaa and baby), as well as spiteful about the situation as a whole... he goes along with the brothers in the 'pining for totoko' thing because thats just... what they do, theyve been doing it since they were kids, so even if he were to realistically kinda back off from it, there would be questions, so hes just... hes just keeping in line, in his place... BUT HES NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
after the bit with the takoyaki turning and ichi finally having fun, he realizes he CAN let loose a little and try to have a good time, sooooo now hes gonna be a little shit and mess with his brothers' chances at getting with totoko bc he can
Tumblr media
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT .... ok ... so ichi is there and visibly nervous... nyaa opens the conversation about cats, to which he relaxes... he relaxes yes cause cats, but also nyaa... pink hair... pink hair and cats to him is mao ... its a bit easier to talk to nyaa in the context that he's just kinda thinking about mao.... nod nod nod nod
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
OK ALL OF THIS IS SO GHREDFLSGFLGBSL OKAY listen... Ichimatsu isn't with mao, but he's pining so hard and hes constantly thinking of the ways that he can incrimentally make homself better so he can be a guy they might be into... so he also, for some reason, thinks mao has experience/isnt a virgin, SO he thinks that he needs to step it up. If he were to get the chance to get an indirect kiss/finally pop his cherry, well, in his eyes he thinks he might be a better guy for mao, he won't be utterly pathetic. IN ADDITION, he picks nyaa because, lets face it, were he to actually gotten the opportunity to sleep with her, he'd be thinking of mao the whole time cause pink and cats... probably say their name too if im being toooootttallly honest... so yeah... he would want to do this to be able to not be such a loser for mao... even if he kinda does have that desire to have them be his first... but his desire to be more desirable to them outweighs his personal wishes if that makes sense....
anyway thats it, thats my post, maoichi real bc i said so

what even happens in cross worlds? I tried playing it but got overwhelmed really fast
god. so. so many things.
i record cross worlds' story and upload it to youtube so you can watch the actual thing over there if you want. however if you don't want to (understandable) here are my personal highlights
the main plot of the game is that you sign up for a beta test of a vr game but it turns out the company is actually just sending people to ni no kuni. they're doing this by taking your soul and putting it into the body of your soul mate, so they have two souls, and you get put in control - your soul mate's soul is dormant. eventually drippy takes them out of dormancy and you speak to them for a bit and after regaining their bearings they wish you luck and just hang out in there now. this is, admittedly, sick as hell
your soul mate's best friend and the drippy/lofty of this game, cluu (who i love. sorry to all cluu haters out there but he's my guy.) doesn't know you're a "player" (what the people who signed up for the beta are now called) until a few chapters in. i do wish they'd done more with this but when he finds out he's confused and horrified but eventually says you have the same goal as him so he wants to keep travelling with you anyway
there's this fun little found family dynamic between two players, varum (who in ichi no kuni was a no life gamer (his words.) and now in ni no kuni he's a fucking raccoon who leads a band of players who stick together to find solidarity (because they thought they were signing up for a game and now they are in a DIFFERENT WORLD AWAY FROM THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILY)) and tariq (a player who is a middle schooler who joins varum's troupe. i just enjoy him.) i don't have much to say on them i just like them
ZERA. was a developer on the "game" who was the first ever tester on it and hasn't figured out a way to get home in TEN YEARS. she's been living in ni no kuni introducing ichi no kuni tech and trying her best to get home. she is ever so important to me. girl we will get you out of there
i literally completely forgot to mention edelian and envie who were rivals at the same magic academy and now edelian works for evermore's guard and envie is part of the main villains (who are working to break up evermore into separate nations i think...???? i can't actually remember.) yeah they're yuri
if cross worlds was good and more popular cyrus would be a tumblr sexyman. that's all i have to say on the matter
LUXERION!!! luxerion is my favourite character as he is an immortal world keeper (the world keepers are like. they keep the peace/balance of the world and there are five and they each have one of the elements assigned to them. also they're dragons) and he's the world keeper of light and he is responsible for the destruction of a kingdom and he would DO IT AGAIN!!!!! but he regrets that he had to because he found a child's pocket watch in the rubble and cast insight on it and saw the kid's memories and now he's kind of fucked up about it. also at one point he's like "i'd cast travel to take you to this place but i haven't been there since they relocated due to a recent flood :( sorry" and then you ask around for where this place is and the girl you talk to is like "are you talking about the great goldpaw flood from hundreds of years ago." i love you luxerion
god there's probably more i just can't think of it right now. the issue with cross worlds is that the story and characters are PRETTY GOOD. pissed off about it

Art of Juligawa by @ryukogo
Ichie Otonashi and Fumi Yumeoji [Ichifumi], Revue Starlight ReLIVE vs July and Igawa [Juligawa], A3! Act Addict Actors
Story of Ichifumi by @insertbrowsinghere
This goes back to, specifically, May 16th of 2022. I was trying to get into the Revue Starlight mobile game, since there was apparently a lot of my other favorite ship from the franchise, Junnana, in it. The problem was that I was having the problem I always have with new games of its nature, that being difficulty getting attached to the new characters. So, I decided to look through their descriptions on the loading screen during a big update. Two characters caught my eye, those characters being the character Michiru, and, more importantly, Ichie.
I posted that I think she was going to take over my brain (I was right) and a pal of mine mentioned that she and Fumi were a little gay together. I responded that I hadn't seen them together and was awaiting to see them, but I didn't expect to love them together. I just expected to know that they existed. I was so very wrong and as I am currently gazing at the exact moment I learned of them as a couple while looking for the exact moment I fell in love with them, I can only laugh at old me.
Suddenly they were hitting all my ship dynamics and Ichie became a primary reason as to why Fumi is even in the main cast. Surely, though, they wouldn't grow on me that much, I thought. They were silly together, but there was only so much depth there, right? Not anything that would soon rot my brain, anyways. Boom, Ichie reassuring Fumi that she beloved her and Fumi seeking out Ichie when the performance department was shut down. Boom, heavy emotional reliance between the two which transcended their usual dynamic. Boom, the ducking "Selfie-Master's Seminar" memoir. That last one ruined my life so much and by that point, I was in too deep.
I pathetically added them to my bio alongside my other three main ships, turning that trio into a life-ruining quartet. I began hunting for cards with stories centered around them but it couldn't get worse, I told myself. Then came Arcania Arcadia chapter 3/main story chapter 15. This ruined me, and it was all because of the fucking Ichifumi revue. There were other reasons attached, but that revue destroyed me.
The not at all serious reveal that Fumi had been supporting Ichie's streaming silently and secretly. Ichie calling out Fumi on her glamorization of the idea of beauty in death, since she saw it as an excuse. Ichie telling Fumi that she wanted to know more about her. Ichie's wish to see a stage that Fumi alone formed, in a franchise where this kind of thing is just sort of a love confession most of the time. Ichie letting Fumi win out of trust in her and Fumi doubting if she was truly the victor. All the impact this had on Fumi later. I was dying at this point, and then this game decided to beat my corpse down a little more by putting in the later scene where they reflected on their revue, Fumi tried to apologize, Ichie told her not to and they both resolved to move forward together.
Another stab was taken at my corpse with the scene in the final chapter where Ichie finally got to see a stage belonging to Fumi, and got to hold pride in it. I realized then I was in too deep. The characters I originally only expected to ship a little if at all had ruined my life. I could do nothing about it. I still can't and I am still in Ichifumi hell. Help.
Story of Juligawa:
When twitter bots were still active there was this bot called the Cursed Prompt Guy (@a3_promptbot) that randomly generated prompts and characters together. One fateful day, it generated this prompt .
[ CHARACTERS: Tenma Sumeragi, July // PROMPT: Butterfly kiss, Loyalty ]
Ss you may notice there is no slash, meaning it's just the two characters, no ship whatsoever. this is important.
See the thing here is that the character, Tenma Sumeragi, is the son of two world-famous actors. He was a child actor for TV before he decided to choose his own path and become a theater actor (since A3! is about theater boys), being a child actor means he had a manager, right? Enter: Igawa.
I was staring at the prompt, and for an entire moment, I just randomly thought 'now why would July swear loyalty to Tenma Sumeragi?'. This thought was immediately followed by '... hmmm (goes on Twitter/Discord servers) hey guys how old is july/igawa again', and then my friends, indulgently, answered me on both platforms - they were within the age range of each other as respectable adults
And then I just SAT THERE because at that very moment my brain EXPLODED like I was JIMMY NEUTRON because this ship did NOT make sense at all and YET, AND YET EVERYTHING MADE SENSE in my head suddenly for some reason.
See the first doddle I made of them with a caption
And my friends were like 'AYO HOLD ON HOLD ON RYU ARE YOU OKAY' and all I said was smth like 'sometimes things happen' and then about five hours later I published the first fic for them on Ao3. Apparently i wrote the fic at 8-ish PM on the same day I made the first doodle (at 6PM) then finished the fic around 11-ish PM.
And then my friend who is one of my ride-or-dies also published a fic around 12 midnight soon after me. I think the majority of the English-speaking fandom/western fandom who knows us thinks we're kinda crazy. It's okay we just like to indulge.

Hi hi my love!! ^^ So you asked for asks right? :3 I realize a lot of the times when I send you these I tend to ask you to rank stuff lol so I guess I'll lean into it? How about top 5 (or 10 if you have enough) anime series or top 5 (or 10) animated movies? :3 It's pretty general but I figure it should give you a lot of room to go over some of your favorites ^^ Sending love and good wishes!!! ❤️
ehehe thank you my love 🥺👉👈🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
i wanted to do both but then i did the top 5 anime and i got very carried away with my explanations so i kept it as just that. anyway:
1. haikyuu!! probably my favorite show ever tbh. i think hq has a perfect story, like it uses its genre to do everything right, and its impact on the outside world is amazing as well. as for the series itself, it's just beautiful (ignoring that one episode in season 4) and has a very unique style, stellar voice acting, awesome soundtrack, delicious symbolism, and it really gets you hyped for volleyball :P it's very easy to get attached even to the most minor character bc the story is written in a way that lets almost everyone in this HUGE cast (well over a 100 or even 150 named characters, i'm pretty sure) shine, and you're guaranteed to find someone you like. the only downside is you'll probably end up rooting for every team so eventually a team you like will lose a game (likely to another team you like) and that hurts every time fr. and still!!!!! it manages to be so feel-good and optimistic and really gets you pumped and inspired!!!! i think anyone who is even just open to try sports anime should check it out, it's def one of the most accessible I've seen in that genre (in a sense that it doesn't expect you to already be familiar with the sport to understand the story)
2. honestly?? osomatsu-san. probably bc it's very dear to me like emotionally, season 2 was still releasing when i was stuck in the hospital for a few months, and it was like a light i held onto every week (i was also following a few mangas back then but those were harder to follow. due to oso-san's skit nature it was always a good time) and i mean, ichi was my first f/o before i even knew that term existed hehe. it's one of these shows i wouldn't actually recommend to anyone unless i know they're ok with gross or edgy humor but i do think it's really good, i love how meta it is, and i think it uses its premise to deliver maximum entertainment!
(oh my god that was so much gushing abt a silly skit show i am so sorry <- guy who wrote most of the hq gushing after typing this part up. he was not aware)
3. ok so this one's really niche, idk if any of you have even heard of it heh. it's called bungou stray dogs-
ajdkflhlh while i have my gripes with how they adapt the manga, i do still think it's a very good anime as is. it was good enough to get me hooked on the story and characters and want to learn more and follow the story further, yknow? it's beautiful and i love its use of colors for symbolism, it has really great voice acting, and the energy is kept up throughout it enough to remain engaging. it's honestly a show I'd recommend everyone to at least try 🤔!
4. persona 4!!!! from one mediocre adaptation to a GREAT adaptation. i think p4's anime is really really well made - it manages to translate a game this long into a coherent and interesting story, gives its characters time to shine, and maintains a perfect balance between fun and emotions. also it has probably the best dub I've ever heard. naoto's anime voice dni. also i think episode 26 is a true masterpiece i think everyone should watch it
5. ngl. it's a three way tie for me. between shows i only watched once and don't have a lot of attachment to beyond that, but i think they're really good for very different reasons. gekkan shoujo nozaki-kun / great pretender / blue period. i won't go into details on why i love them all bc this post is already long enough. but if you're reading this you should check them out 🫡
also if this post convinces you to check out any show mentioned here you legally have to tell me ok? esp if you end up liking it 🧐🔥🔥

"He's only become more handsome in the years I've been gone... intelligent, too. It wouldn't do for me to stay the same when he's that far ahead... he finished those cancelers, didn't he? Maybe I could take a look at the blueprints and... but it would be difficult to surprise him, so what if..."
Tumblr media
"My dear little lion's grown so tall! And independent! Oh, I do wish that I hadn't been careless back then so Ichiro could have a longer childhood, but... it's no use lamenting the past. I'll just have to do what I can to help him now. His food preferences are still similar to when he was young, so...!"
"... Don't tell him, but it's quite cute that he and Rei both dislike shiitake mushrooms~"
Tumblr media
"My dear little athlete's also grown so tall! Where are my genes supposed to be-- I'm glad he's been a good big brother to Saburo, but... are they both in their rebellious phases nowadays? Regardless, I'm glad Jiro's still able to be so carefree."
Tumblr media
"Ichi-chan is soooo nice to hug!! Big and strong and he carries me like, super easily~!! I wonder if he knows I saw all the stuff he tries to hide in his room, hehe~? ... Just kidding~! He totes doesn't know~! He's sooooo cute~! Except that time when---"
"Ehehe, that's a secret~!"
Tumblr media
"What a weird old man. He's gotta be like, waaaay out there to be forgiving me so easily! Or maybe he's too doki-doki in wuv to see? That'd be soooo funny~! ... Just kidding, ahaha~! That's a biiiit too much to think, even for me~! He does need to put some air freshener in his van, though~!"
Tumblr media
"For someone who claims to be besties with me, she's really really too silly to believe that I thought the same, hmm~? Ehehe, look at where that got her~! Maybe I sold out her silly little emotional secrets, but it's not like anyone gets to find out~! Bet it's better for her over there anyway, so aren't I doing a super good job of being 'besties', actually~?"
Tumblr media
"Doc's like, the best! He's always there to lend a shoulder if I ever need it, and I want to help him do the same! 'Cause we're a team and even a superhero needs trusty sidekicks so he's not all alone. And lucky for him, he has me!"

hi icha!! I just finished the anniversary event lol ,, three ヽ(´▽`’)ノ for mankai!! (yes that’s actually what cheers on my phone autocorrects to). ummm I think this event was so sweet. I don’t have too much to say since a lot of it reviews stuff that had already happened and if I talked abt every a3 character moment that had gone in since the beginning I would never bc able to move on with my life. so this’ll be disjointed.
I liked how everyone got izumi a present individually and how they surprised her with the message book and she surprised them back! it was so sweet and izumi performing all of the plays they did was so good… like man. felt like it rly demonstrated her passion!
this is also the second time I’ve seen some other game localized ad red rover, a game which I’ve also never played. two nickels! (the first is for eng translations of poker face ft. gumi and prod. yuchaP that translate hana ichi monme to red rover)
rly loved the re-mention of citron wanting to leave bc he was being followed. runaway prince. also guy seems like he’s successfully followed him,, and tenma!! him being like. well I’ve got the best guys and izumi to back me up… even if they’re sometimes annoying…. no, they’re ALWAYS annoying as hell. and tenma trying to pick out a cute sticker from yukis collection as yuki thinks of how he used to get made fun of for having his collection… yeah. the way yuki and tenma BOTH have a moment where they go like … in the middle of bickering and r like. well I’m thankful this guy is by my side. it’s sweet.
I also forgot muku gave up track and field bc of an injury!! that rly sucks… in other thoughts muku joined the troupe right after spring which makes perfect sense since he loves princes so much I think the fairy tale style of spring troupe would appeal to him so much! whenever muku gets his prince role it’ll be an Moment for sure.
the banri and juza filling out pages was fun I think. the way they introspect as each other does their page is a neat detail. also izumi supporting juzas acting growth will never not warm my heart. I like to think she sees herself in him just a bit. sakyos message was so sweet…
the best part of this event I think is the interplay between roommates like. tasuku and tsumugi fondly reminiscing over like elementary school or whatever. and tasuku only submitting a “thank you” at the end for that! that’s so. Him. also gosh. tasuku and tsumugi’s gratitude towards like being able to act as they wish and with each other… it gets me every time
”I was taught to lie low and recover my stamina when I’m weakened” uhhh here’s a hisoka quote I don’t remember. more assassin points. and azuma talking abt him as a kid observing everyone having fun from a distance… don’t be so relatable. I’m glad that we saw sakuyas message in full! since it was so sweet. guess we saw tasukus full message since it was so short lol,, that’s abt all I had to say! just one event left
YOU'RE ON A ROLL!! HI THERE!!!! omg you're really getting closer in closer to act 2, that's so much help.
The Cheers event really was very cute!! it's a lot of reviewing but after one year of content it's really sweet to have a review of it all. It's so so good. On this event there was a SR for every single characters and the backstage are a little more detailled about how each character feels about Izumi and stuff and it's honestly pretty sweet. It's where Hisoka gifts her the cat pillow and i still have been crying over it ever since.
ANYWAY. THEM!!!!
I honestly love how everyone really wanted to thank Izumi and it shows also the impact she really had on their lives. When you think most of them ran into the theater by chance, none of them would have expected just how much this would change their lives and now they're growing in ways they would never have imagined and it's so much. And i love Izumi giving it back and performing all the plays, it's really so sweet and i'm just, so happy everyone was so happy about it.
and ooh that's so cool about the localization :ooo so nice.
YEAH Citron's whole deal being reminded is really neat imo, it really shows you just how far he's come by accepting staying here with everyone. THE TENMA BIT IS SO CUTE YES. He loves them so much he forgot for a second that they annoy him ALL the time. (on that note there's a series of backstage called the "One Day Leader Swap" (you can search for them) for each leader where they have, well, what it says on the tin. All of them are really funny, but i esp remember how Tenma's was soft because he had a pretty good experience, then came back to his troupe being annoying and yet he still smiled and went "well. I wouldn't have it any other way." and it's just. Them being annoying isn't a bug it's a FEATURE!!!! And god the Yuki bit too it's so much. When you remember how much they didn't want to room together too it adds a layer.
And yeah god, Muku… He mentions in the summer first chap that he wanted to be a track runner because it was like a hero of one of his manga and he was always bummed when he had to quit and now he has to cheer on his old team, probably feeling guilty of not being able to still be there and helpful for them and probably adding to his anxiety to not being able to keep up with acting… Poor sweetie. Instead he found something that really helped him. And yeah, the fact he just loved RomeJuli so much being what inspired him to join is really so sweet. Cheering for our sweet prince, always.
Banri and Juza's were indeed very sweet, and the fact they introspect that way does bring this layer of their growth being interwinded. Especially Banri who wouldn't have been there without his obsession with Juza and ended up finding something that makes him so happy instead of it all. All the messages are lovely.
Tsumu and Tasu are so cute on all of this sobbbsss. They're so good.
And oh boy. yeah Hisoka says that line when he's having his fever at the end of the Winter first chapter. It's because of this philosophy he got lured to the unopening door and why Izumi and him got locked here until Hisoka had his delirious dream about apologizing to "August" for something Hisoka has done. The next morning Hisoka didn't remember anything about this fever dream, including what he commented on for his stamina and stuff. It's really indeed… very worrying at least.
And god the Azuma line; bites fist that guy. man.
And SAKUYAAAAAAAAAAAA BABY.
The whole thing was just. so nice. I love them all so much. Events usually focus on a handful of people so it was nice to see all of them just, talk about how much all this time there was good to them. It really drives home just how much of a home this whole family became.
I love them so muchhhh 😭😭😭😭
Congratulation on getting this far :3c
Valentine's Magic next. And then. Ooooooh boy. :3c can't wait to see you back there eheheh

1. The Best Friends
Being friends with a psychic definitely had its ups and downs. At first, you didn’t notice a thing out of the ordinary with Saiki, well, granted you were kids when the both of you met so naturally you just wanted to be friends and thought nothing more. However, he noticed something odd with you the moment you two met.
He couldn’t read your mind.
Actually forget being about to read your mind, none of his psychic abilities worked on you. He couldn’t see through you and when he touched you without his super thin transparent gloves on nothing happened. You were basically immune to him.
At first, he thought something was wrong with you, or that maybe you had some psychic powers as well. That wasn’t the case at all. In reality, you were a normal human without any powers or tricks. That stumped Saiki even more, but it also became the soul reason he wanted to be your friend as well.
For one, he didn’t have to deal with your thoughts. Two, his image of you wasn’t ruined because he can’t see under your skin. Three, your calmer personality made him relax. And of course all those other things like your kindness and stuff, but those were irrelevant the moment he knew he couldn’t read your mind.
It’s been years since he met you in the park during recess, and now here you guys were, 16 years later and still friends. Oh, there was one thing that bothered him about you.
“What to hang out today?” You asked as you slung your bag over your shoulder.
“Sure.” Saiki said. Yep. That’s right, since he can’t get in your mind, he actually has to move his mouth when he talks to you.
It was a bit weird to others that he never did it with anyone else other than you, but he didn’t care.
On the way home he couldn’t help but notice you eyeing his antennas, the things that keep his powers stable. He turned his head towards you and gave you a curiosity look.
“Do those things poke at your head at all?” You asked, moving you hand up to poke at the top of the pink ball. “Like, does it make your head ichy?”
Saiki shook his head. He knew he had to talk to you at some points, but times like these he didn’t. He enjoyed that about you too, that you don’t force him to talk all the time. You knew it was a bit weird for him to talk, he explained it to you when he told you all about his powers.
“Hm,” you hummed out. Your hands going back at your side and into your pant pockets. “It would for me, if I was you. They just look painful, but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do if you don’t wanna blow up the world.”
Saiki nodded his head, his eyes continuing to linger on you. It was one days like these when he saw you thinking so hard about something that he wished he could just take a peak. At some points, he loved the silence, especially when the both of you were watching movies, but right now, especially in this moment, he’d give anything to know. It was mostly prominent when he’d stare at you during class and you’d have this far out look in your orbs, you drew him in, and perhaps that’s why he fell for you.
Though, there were other factors that won his favor. Mostly the fact that, unlike everyone else, he can’t stare right through you and just see your raw muscles and pumping organs. Instead, he was able to focus on your handsome face and not get side tracked about your racing thoughts. You were the only person in the world that make him feel somewhat normal. That was a love-hate relationship at times.
“Think I could sleep over tonight?” You suddenly asked, “we don’t have school tomorrow.”
Saiki stared at you for a moment just to relish in that fact that nothing worked on you. No telekinesis, mind control, no nothing. He was going to have to win your favor just like everyone else. To him, it wasn’t normal, but looking at you, he didn’t seem to mind the extra work.
“Sure,” Saiki said. He still had trouble talking aloud, hell, sometimes he will actually use telekinesis and wait for your response only to have pure silence. “My parents are leaving for a wedding, so the house should be free for a while.”
When the two of you got to Saiki’s house, it was a bit peaceful until his parents had to head out. You liked his mom and dad a lot, they were like your second family, so you wanted to wish them a good time. It was for one Saiki’s dad’s coworkers.
“Are you sure you don’t wanna come with us?” Saiki’s dad asked his son. “You’ve met Kirishima before, and you can bring [Name] as your plus one date.”
You knew Saiki wasn’t going to be interested in a wedding. He always told you normal happy events for others is misery for him since he can hear the jealousy and pity that the crowd is thinking. You felt sorry that he couldn’t turn it off, but you were glad that you were the only person he could catch a break with. However, when you looking over at Saiki, he seemed to entertain the thought.
It was a new side to Saiki, one that made you confused. It was always either you or no one. You could tell the way he wanted to get away from many of the people in his class that seemed to have declared themselves his friends from a small interaction. Sure, you felt their interest, but it was just a bit sad to you that Saiki could never actually enjoy friends unless they were pure. Otherwise, he could hear all the backstabbing thoughts or otherwise stupid comments that go around in their brain that was thought to be private to them.
“I’m going to have to pass,” you commented. “I don’t have a suit, besides, you two should enjoy the night. It’s been a while since I’ve seen you both go out alone.”
Saiki’s mom smiled widely at you. Her eyes clouding over with a wet film before wrapping her arms around you for a tight hug. “Ah, thank you, [Name]! What would we do without you?”
You chuckled softy at the comment before saying, “Who knows, I rather not think about that.”
When she finally let you go, you and Saiki waved the both of them off as they left. Honestly, you weren’t sure if they’d even make it back at a reasonable time. It was a wedding, after all. Oh well, as long as they make it back drunk and safe rather than drunk and not safe, you didn’t mind. You were sleeping over anyway, so right now, you just wanted to hang out with your childhood best friend.
“What do you wanna do?” You asked with a calming tone.
Saiki turned his head to you. “TV?”
“Sure,” you smiled. However, as soon as you turned to the living room, you noticed the absolute mess his parents left behind. So, out of the goodness of your heart, you said, “How about you find something and all clean up this in the meantime. Sound good?”
Saiki nodded once more. He truly thought your actions were kind, but he rather have you watching TV with him than picking up his dad’s dirty clothes. He knew his father tended to be sloppy, but this was just a mess.
As you were about to pick up a pair of jeans, all the clothes that were strewn about the floor suddenly started to float in the air and shoot into the open washing machine. The trash floated itself into the garage while everything else was moved around to make it look clean until otherwise.
You pressed your lips together as your brows furrowed in annoyance. Once you turned to Saiki and saw his innocence face, you knew you couldn’t be angry but you had to ask, “Do you really want me to watch TV with you that bad?”
“Yes,” Saiki stated.
You sighed, your lips parting as you left the oxygen leave your lungs. “Fine, but let’s both clean up a bit before than. It’ll be a nice surprise and a way to thank your parents for letting me stay the night.”
Saiki nodded. “Okay.”
It took a bit of convincing on your end to let him let you help out. You may not have powers, but you didn’t want to take advantage of his. You knew it was effortless and he made it seem like it didn’t affect him whatsoever, but you knew every time he does something it takes a toll. His powers aren’t perfect.
You both ended up cleaning the living room, Saiki’s room, and now you were in the kitchen sorting the trash. Saiki was using his powers to sort while you whipped down the countertops.
“Good grief,” Saiki said aloud, his voice drawing your eyes to him. He was crouched down with two bags in front of him and the garage floating upside down, it’s contents was either going in the first or second bag.
“What?” You asked curiosity. It wasn’t all the time that he speaks from his mouth without you talking first.
“How could anyone have let it get this dirty in here?” He asked aloud. “I mean, really it’s a wonder we don’t have bugs.”
You were going to respond. That was until he suddenly shut his mouth, a chest deep grunt leaving him as you notice him stare at something on the furniture next to him.
It was a cockroach.
Mind you, the moment you realized what it was you weren’t the least bit surprised when he suddenly teleported. Saiki hates bugs. He could read the minds of humans, as well as animals, but he couldn’t with bugs. He thought they were small minded icky things. Hell, he couldn’t even let his powers touch the thing.
You counted down the seconds before he came back. It was around ten, maybe fifteen. He also teleported right behind you.
“Welcome back,” you greeted and watched as his eyes dart towards the floor.
“Sorry, I may have overreacted.” He muttered. “I just hate them.”
“I know,” you hummed out before looking around and grabbing a cup and piece of paper. Saiki watched you as you let the roach crawl on the piece of paper before placing the cup over it so it didn’t run away. You were quick to put it outside and close the window after so Saiki didn’t worry about it coming back in.
“All gone,” you cheered with a smile. “Now, let’s watch TV, ya?”
2. Saiki’s Pushy Friends
PK Academy was a school were many different personalities and people collided. It was always fun to meet new people in this school, yet on the other side of the coin, sometimes they were more than a little odd. Not like you can speak, your best friend was a psychic. Though, he wasn’t delusional like this one guy in your class that declared himself Saiki’s friend. His name was Kaido. He thinks he has powers and has an evil organization following him around.
Then, you have Nendou. Basically, he’s stupid. Not that you minded, but sometimes being stupid isn’t the best thing in the world, especially now.
It was the sports festival at PK and Saiki and you had to participate in it. You both were on the same team since all the teams were decided by class. This also gave you a good idea of the friends Saiki has made. It was safe to say that Kaido was growing on you. You felt a little bad for the guy, what can you say.
Let’s not forget about Hairo as well. You knew him a bit more from hearsay than the others, plus he was class rep. Though, you had to say, he was a little too overly enthusiastic.
It was kind of a surprise to see Teruhashi, the most popular girl in school, try and interact with Saiki. Though, it was a bit amusing since to him, she’s nothing more than walking muscle. However, you did think he would swoon over her like all the other guys in your school if she was like you. However, you knew Saiki had no interest in romance so you don’t care either way.
Finally, Nendou. You were originally going to say that you didn’t mind the guy that much and thought maybe he would be a good thing for Saiki. However, after just watching him take out one of the antennas from Saiki’s head, you started to wonder how much of a danger his stupidity is to Saiki.
You watched that pink haired friend of yours collapse to the ground with a hard thud as soon as Nendou pull the thing out of his head. You were quick to rush over to him and sit by his side. When you flipped him over, since he fell face forward, worry grew about your body and infected your bloodstream.
You heard protests about turning him over, but at this point all the worried voices drowned before they were even audible to you. His lips were parted as drool leaked from his mouth and went down his chin, his eyes dead and without life as darkness surrounded them. It didn’t take you long to recover and swipe the antenna Nendou was holding and pop it back in its rightful place in his pink locks.
You didn’t know how long it would take for him to wake up, or if he’d wake up at all. All you knew was to sit and wait for him to wake up. To your surprise, he woke up rather quickly. Maybe a mere minute or so after you fixed him up. When his eyes opened, you felt yourself suddenly get surrounded as Saiki’s friends crowed over him to ask how he was.
You noticed him using telepathy to talk to everyone when Hairo said, “You passed out after Nendou took that think out of your head, lucky for you, [Name] put it back right away!”
“Yeah, he saved your life!” Kaido spit out next, their hands placing on my shoulder out of respect and gratitude.
Saiki’s eye then direct to you, his voice never leaving his lips for a moment before you noticed him flinch.
‘Ah,’ you thought. ‘He tried to use telepathy with me again.’
When he noticed, Saiki just nodded in your direction. You knew he was thanking you, he didn’t need to word it out to you. The look in his eyes was enough.
Lunch came immediately after Saiki ended up waking up, and it was understatement to say he didn’t want to be bother with anyone else besides you. He was quick to drag you to the roof of the school to eat.
The both of you sat against the railing, lunch in your laps. You wanted I just forget about the scare that Saiki gave you, but the after effects he was having wasn’t making that easy. He was having trouble, and it was easy to see when his hands were shaking so much that he couldn’t even pick up his food without it falling back in the box.
You side eyed him, his expression one of concentration as he tried to pick up his food again. Though, he dropped it again.
He sighed quickly after that, only looking down at his food as you saw his mind wonder off.
Once you finished chewing whatever food you had in your mouth, you placed your food to the side and moved so that you weren’t side to side, but rather across from Saiki’s body now. He didn’t register your movements until he saw a hand come into his view and pick up an item of food with his chopsticks.
When he turned to you, you had the chopsticks in your dominant hand and your other under the food so it didn’t drop to the filthy ground.
“C’mon, lemme help,” you said. It was easy for Saiki to pick up the worry in your tone, however he knew not to address it or else you’ll just either deny it or baby him. “Open up.”
He obeyed your command after a moment, opening his mouth wide enough for you to place his food in his mouth. The hand that was meant to catch the food if it fell made sure Saiki closed his mouth, his fingers placed a bit of pressure under his chin to shut his jaws before slowly trailing away. The food wasn’t nearly as satisfying as the chill that ran down his spine at your lingering touch that crawled on his skin.
“I could hurt you.” He suddenly spit out. It was pained. “Having my antenna taken out messed up my powers.”
You leaned your head to the side, your eyes never falling from his. “Yeah, I kinda figured.”
“You should go.” He stated.
“Why?”
“I just told you.”
You smiled. “Saiki, you could never hurt me.”
He looked at you like you had something stuck in your teeth. “You don’t know that, I may not be able to read your mind, but I don’t know how my other powers react to you.”
You remained quiet for a moment before shuffling your body side by side again, your head falling to rest of Saiki’s shoulder. You felt him flinch at the contact, his muscles even began to tighten just out of fear.
“Yanno,” you started out saying, your hand coming up to play the antenna that you could reach. “It’s odd to me how these things are the only thing keeping you stable.”
“Is it?”
You chuckled and nodded. “Small things like these verses your powers. The thing that gets me is that these things actually win in that fight. Though, I suppose it does complete the look you have.”
“And what look is that?” Saiki asked as he gazed down at you to see your eyes already on him. He could feel his fingers twitch as he watched you say shamelessly, “The cute, mysterious loner type.”
Saiki’s lips parted as he gazed at you. He quickly recomposed himself when he noticed you waiting patiently for him to respond. He sighed before asking, “Mysterious loner? Where’d you get that?”
You laughed before sarcastically questioning, “yep, I wonder where.”
3. Your friends are my friends
You don’t know how you got wrapped into this, but perhaps it’ll allow you to know Saiki’s friends better.
Currently, you were walking with Kaido, Nendou, and Saiki to a good ramen shop Nendou suggested. You were dragged along when Nendou remembered you from the Sports Festival and as Saiki’s friend. They never really got the chance to speak to you since you’re usually out the door as soon as the bell rings, but today they finally caught you.
At some point Teruhashi joined the group, though you feel like she kinda took over since now the boys, except for Saiki and you, were fawning over her. Saiki and you took it upon yourselves to give them all room to talk to her, so you both sorts trailed behind.
It was silent for a while, the only noise was Nendou or Kaido talking to Teruhashi. However, you caught the, “what does that even mean,” that Saiki mumbled under his breath.
“Hm?” You hummed. “What does what mean?”
It was obvious to you he didn’t realize he said that aloud. But he just seemed to be glad that only you heard that.
“Teruhashi wants me to go ‘oh wow’ or something to her.” Saiki revealed. “I don’t even know what that means.”
You kept your gaze on Saiki for a moment. “So, she likes you?”
“I guess,” he muttered. “I think it’s more that I’m the only guy that isn’t kissing her feet.”
You watched Teruhashi interact with Nendou and Kaido. You know that, normally, she wouldn’t take time to hang out with these guys. However, because of her crush on Saiki, she bares with them. In all honesty, she seems a bit perfect. Being able to deal with them just for the person she adores. It’s easy for anyone to do, and not a lot of people would even bother.
“She seems like a good fit for you.” You suddenly uttered out.
When Saiki heard that, he felt his hands twitch. He didn’t like that, not one bit. What irked him the most was that it seemed natural, like you actually meant it. And, of course, he had no way of knowing if those words were genuine or actually forced.
“No way,” Saiki stated coldly. “Never in a million years.”
“Damn, that’s cold, Saiki.” He heard you say, a teasing tone wedged in your voice.
“Why do you keep calling me Saiki, anyway? We aren’t acquaintances.”
“Hm?” You questioned. “I thought you don’t like me calling you by your first name in public?”
Saiki sighed. “Well now I’m telling you I don’t care.”
Saiki knew this way of showing that you were closer to him than anyone would ever be may have been childish on his part, but when he heard his first name come from your lips in front of his other ‘friends’, he felt more than satisfied.
4. Friendship Can Bring Romance
Being able to rest during class was one of your guilty pleasures. Even if you got called out by your teacher, you didn’t mind. It was better when it was raining outside, the patter of rain when it hit the window made you want to nap.
“Hey,” a voice called out to you. You didn’t listen though, it wasn’t important.
“Hey, [Name],” it called out again. Okay, maybe you should wake up. Then again, sleep. You could always sleep later though.
You fluttered your eyes open as you felt your body being pushed around. When your sight became focused, the blurry figure in front of you showed a blue hair kid. You knew him, but from where?
“Saiki asked me to wake you up, sorry,” he confessed.
Oh, right. That’s Kaido, Saiki’s friend.
“Hm? Where is Kusuo?” You asked in a groggy voice, your hand coming up to wipe your eyes.
“Oh, he went home.” Kaido informed you. “Something just came up, I guess.”
“Alright,” you hummed before the end of your lips pulled upward. “Thank you, Kaido.”
It wasn’t easy for Kaido to wake up the quiet kid. Kaido only met the guy once or twice, and when he was hanging with him, you only stayed close to Saiki. It was kinda odd, but Kaido understood your attachment to the pink haired man. Saiki was Kaido’s first friend, after all, so he knew how awesome the guy was.
Though, he’s never got the chance to speak to you. He knows Saiki never really goes anywhere with you, and somehow you always end up by his side. He just always seemed to miss you when it came to getting the chance to introduce himself so Kaido was pretty glad when you came along the trip to that ramen place, even if it was a dumb and he got distracted by Teruhashi.
Kaido knew you were the closest person to Saiki. He’s pretty sure that not even Nendou is as close to Saiki as you are. And those two are best friends. Kaido didn’t know the extend of how long you two have been friends, but he does know from watching that Saiki has respect for you. So, it was critical that he makes a great impression with you so that he can become closer to Saiki and maybe you as well.
“S-Sure, no problem!” He stuttered, his bandaged hand retracting from your shoulder and holding them up in the air in a surrendered notion.
“Do you live around here at all? I’ll walk you home as a thank you.” You said as you stood from your seat and began to search for your bag.
“What? You don’t have to do that, really, it isn’t necessary!” Kaido spit out quickly, his words jumping all over the place.
“It’s really no trouble at all,” you stated as you put your bag over your shoulder. “C’mon, let’s get going before the rain gets worse.”
The rain eventually stopped when both teens got closer to your house. Kaido’s was further ahead, so he thought it would be better if he just walked you home instead so you didn’t have to walk more than you have to already.
“So, you’ve been friends with Saiki since he was little, huh?” Kaido asked as you explained why Saiki trusts you so much. “That’s pretty awesome! What was he like back then?”
“Pretty much the same.” You answered. “Though he did get more handsome throughout the years, and he used to be kinda sweet. Now, not so much.”
“I see, so you guys have been through it all together.” Kaido replied.
“Basically, though, he did start to worry me a bit since I was his only friend for a really long time,” you confessed. You paused as you looked up at Kaido and gave him a smile, “But I’m glad he finally made a friend like you.”
Kaido could feel his heart beat a million miles an hour just at the words you strung together. He never heard kinder words than those, and he was even more thrilled that he succeeded in making a good impression on Saiki’s childhood friend!
“It’s, uh, n-no problem, really!” Kaido muttered out as his whole face began to fluster, his hands going everywhere.
“Oh,” you hummed out.
“Hm?” Kaido questioned. His nerves going down. “What is it?”
“Did you know you were dragging your scarf the whole time?” You asked curiosity as your hands started to real in the extra fabric.
“What?” He asked out of pure shock. Though, realizing that he doesn’t make a fool out of himself he said, “O-Of course I did! It’s a fashion choice.”
“Not the best one,” you stated as you stepped closer to the blue haired male.
Kaido’s eyes widened as he stated directly into your colored orbs, watching them dance solely for him. It was like getting attention from a loved one, but this attention make him nervous to the point where he thought his face was going to explode with red. Kaido’s lips slowly started to disappear as the scarf started to build up around his shoulders and neck.
“There you go,” you said, “much better. Now your scarf doesn’t get more dirty and you look even better.”
‘Even better? What’s that supposed to mean? Does it.. does it mean he thought I looked good before?!’ Kaido thought.
Kaido let out an awkward laugh as he played with the end of the scarf. “O-Oh, haha, thank you.”
“Sure,” you hummed. “Now let’s get going.”
5. Blessing Turned On Jealousy
What’s that saying, the enemy of my enemy is my friend? Yeah, that’s it. See, that could apply to this yet at the same time it would go a little different.
More like, the enemy of my best friend is my friend. At least for your situation. You see, walking home with Saiki has now turned into walking home with Saiki, Nendou, and Kaido. Not that you mind, but sometimes you really do wish it was back to when Saiki and you got to spend time alone together. However, being friends with Saiki and then having his friends automatically become your friends may have some perks.
Like now. Bumping into Kaido’s mom was totally accidental. But, in the end it payed off. Why?
Because coffee jelly.
“I know it’s not easy being friends with my son because he’s so shy, but please be patient.” Kaido’s mom announced as she placed the coffee jelly down in front of Saiki and you.
“Please don’t say that mama—I mean—mother.” Kaido pleased, his voice cracking as it got higher with embarrassment.
Overall, the beginning was a very nice. Hell, it was damn near perfect. Although, you just had to snoop around. Well, it was more like exploring Kaido’s room.
Your fingertips brushed along the spines of the many books Kaido had stacked up in his bookcase. It was seriously amazing how many books he had, he even had some original copies of some famous old books.
“This is pretty awesome,” you muttered to yourself before your eyes spotted something that didn’t quite match with the others. In all honesty, you were simply curious. However, curiosity did kill the cat. In your case, more like awakened the Saiki K.
“Hey, Kaido, what is the Jet Black Wings?” You asked aloud as the group sat down eating whatever snacks were about. You would always hear either chewing or at least some conversation, but after that question left your mouth it was dead silent. You felt like you killed something, but when you looked over you noticed Kaido’s face beat red. Seriously, his entire face was as red as a blood moon.
“P-Put that back!” He stuttered out, the blue haired boy suddenly running up to you to snatch the book from your hand.
As he reached for it, you held it higher. Even if he was about the same height or maybe a inch or so taller, you just needed to make him miss his hand from grabbing it.
“Don’t be embarrassed, I’m just curious.” You calmly said. “Is it bad or something?”
“N-No! It’s nothing, uh, bad! Just give me it back!” Kaido begged this time around, his hands trying desperately to grab it from you. Okay, maybe you were being a little mean at this point, but it was kinda fun to tease him.
You began to back up as Kaido trying to nab the book in your hand. “Just explain it!”
“No! Never!” He shouted.
You couldn’t help but laugh a little, though, that was your fatal mistake. Having yourself distracted by your own humor, your mind didn’t take into account the pile of prep books scattered about until it was too late. You quickly lost your voice, as well as your balance before slamming your head hard against the wood floors.
“Woah! You guys okay?” Nendou asked out of genuine concern.
As much as you would have liked to answer him, you were too concerned with the pain pounding into your skull like a jackhammer. Seriously, this is gonna give you one massive headache.
You scrunched your nose as your finally gave effort to open your eyes, though, they permanently remained open when you noticed a face staring down at you, a body on top of yours. You guessed that during the fall Kaido tried to save you, but only got dragged along instead.
“H-Hey, um, are you okay?” He asked under his shaky breath.
You only nodded before trying to avoid his gaze in any possible way. The position you were in didn’t help whatsoever in that department. Instead, you hoped that Kaido would take the hint and get off. That plan wasn’t looking too good cause all that was running through his mind was how you looked under him. Let’s say, the thoughts he had left a distaste in Saiki’s mouth.
Originally, he was just gonna let you handle it, but after hearing Kaido’s perverted thoughts about you, that plan blew up.
Saiki stood up, leaving his coffee jelly half eaten before grabbing Kaido by the back of his shirt and yanking him off of you. Saiki gave some strength into that but not enough to launch him into the bookshelf like he wanted too. He knelt down to come to your level and help you up, your massive headache being noticeable when you held onto the back of your head.
“Damnit, that really hurt,” you muttered to yourself but Saiki heard it clear as day.
It wasn’t long after that he took you home as well as the left over coffee jelly. Saiki advised you to stay home a day just to let the pain die down a bit before going back to school, so, the pink haired boy was all alone today. And all alone to everyone else meant to bother him more than usual.
Teruhashi, Nendou, Hairo. All of them. Though, it was a bit weird that Kaido wasn’t bothering with him today. Not that he was complaining, but he couldn’t pinpoint the answer until he heard Kaido’s thoughts, ‘I need to ask Saiki for permission. They’re best friends, it would be rude if I didn’t ask permission to ask out [Name].’
Never mind. He didn’t need to know that.
It was around lunch time that Kaido walked up to Saiki for the first one, the blush that littered his cheeks made Saiki want to gag for a moment.
“So, uh, Saiki, I have to ask you something.” Kaido uttered out lowly. Clearly, this was nerve wracking for him.
“What is it?” Saiki asked telepathically.
“Well, it’s about [Name], yanno, our [Name]?”
‘What other person has that name?’ Saiki thought. ‘And don’t say our, it’s creepy.’
“You see, I, well, I think I like him and I’d like your blessing to ask him out!” Kaido shouted, his body bowing at an almost 90 degree angle.
Normally, Saiki would just say to do whatever since he could read [Name]’s thoughts and see that he doesn’t like Kaido in that way. However, the one person in the world that Saiki actually wants is immune to his powers. He knew he needed to shut this down fast.
‘No way.’ Saiki responded.
“Thank you so much, Saiki, you won’t—wait—why not?” Kaido asked aloud, his voice getting higher the more he freaked out. He thought this would be easy, he means, it was Saiki. The most chill guy ever actually gave him a hard ‘no’ to asking out his best friend. Kaido shouldn’t be surprised, even though he is.
‘Because I said so,’ Saiki strictly put. He knew it was wrong to say this, who was he to say no to something that isn’t his business. Though, the feeling of relief that he still had a chance was more satisfying in the end.
By the time Saiki got to your house it was basically as soon as school ended. He used teleportation to get here as fast as he could, as well as just appear in your room. He wasn’t expecting you to still be asleep, though, he supposed this wasn’t too bad.
The pink haired male carefully walking up to the bedside of his best friend. It was odd to see your hair going in one direction instead of all over the place like normal, and don’t even get him started on the soft snores that came from your nose. Snoring isn’t usually the most attractive thing in the world, but this light snores from you made him think of the habit as cute.
Now, he would normally wake you up. But, just allowing himself to look at you for a moment longer without any consequences never hurt anybody. Saiki sat himself down on your floor, his eyes keeping to your closed ones as they slowly began to travel down to your lips. He doesn’t know what came over him, but it seriously began to freak him out when he started think about Kaido touching his lips with yours. After the freak out, jealousy was spiraling around in the psychic. He never knew that Kaido, of all people, would actually develop romantic feelings for you. If he did, he would have never allowed the both of you to interact the way you did at his house the other day.
Saiki let out a sigh before standing up once more, his hand came up to your shoulder slowly and began to shake it. It wasn’t long after that your eyes fluttered open and gave him that soft smile that caused his heart to skip a beat.
6. School Trip
The school trip was always the most looked forward to activity in high school. This year it was a three day trip to Okinawa. While you were excited to spend some time at a gorgeous place like Okinawa, Saiki was definitely less excited.
As kids talked with their friends in a group or just at their desks, you were currently sitting on top of Saiki’s desk with the pink haired boy sitting in the chair. This wasn’t something you always do, especially since at times Saiki has pushed you off out of retaliation, but after a moment or two of still being there, you knew he didn’t mind today.
“You excited?” You asked him.
“No. I don’t get the appeal.” He spit out, his eyes closing as he moved his head down. “I could get to Okinawa in three minutes.”
“Kusuo, not everyone is like you.” You explained. “So don’t go getting moody on this trip, I’m not letting you ruin it for me.”
“I won’t, I’m just saying a fact.” He replied.
You were about to continue with things you’re excited to do during the trip before Hairo came around to the both of you with a clip board in hand. He was responsible for dividing rooms.
“Saiki, [Name], did you guys decide on your group for the class trip?” He asked politely. “You should have three boys and three girls in your group.”
Saiki didn’t say anything, instead he just rested his head against your forearm. Perhaps he wanted Hairo to think he fell asleep and leave it to you, or maybe he was actually saying that he didn’t care as long as he was with you. Either way, you smiled at the contact and said to Hairo, “Kusuo and I will be rooming, it doesn’t matter who else is in our group.”
“Okay, great!” Hairo exclaimed as he wrote it down. “Kaido and Nendou are still available so I’ll just place Kaido with your group, and then randomly place you guys with a girls group.”
“Thanks, Hairo,” you hummed out as he walked away to probably inform Kaido about the rooming.
You never minded contact with Saiki, in fact, you sort of enjoyed it. However, seeing him still like this, even with Hario now gone, you worried.
“Hey, Kusuo,” you called out.
No answer.
“Kusuo?” You asked this time. And when he didn’t answer again you unconsciously moved your hand up to his head and moved it back to where you could look him in the eyes. Saiki’s face was still without expression, though, those eyes worried you. He seemed, almost, upset.
“Kusuo?” You asked. “What’s wrong?”
He shook his head, signaling that nothing was wrong. You knew he was lying.
You tilted your head, some of your hair moving with gravity to expose part of your forehead. “Why are you lying to me?”
“I’m not.” He said, his voice was steady and yet, that look in his eyes still bothered you.
You knew he wasn’t going to budge but still, just because you’re going to let it go now doesn’t mean that you weren’t about to keep an eye on him.
Throughout the beginning and the first day of the trip, you kept an eye on Saiki. He seemed way more tired than usual, but that didn’t startle you. Instead, it was how he was by your side more often now when Kaido was around. You weren’t an idiot, it was pretty obvious. You didn’t mind Saiki’s attention, but you didn’t want him to think just because you were friends with Kaido that he’d be put second.
“Kusuo, can we talk?” You asked him as the two of you had the room to yourselves. The others were out and about, but the two of you decided on an early night.
“About what?” He asked as he set up his sleeping area.
“Today.” You started out. “You’ve been acting weird around Kaido. Did something happen?”
You watched Saiki carefully, so carefully that you noticed his fingers lightly curl around the blanket. You didn’t want to push him, so instead of pushing him to speak, you allowed yourself to be silent and let him take his time. You don’t remember how many minutes pasted, but you swear it felt like decades.
“Nothing happened.” He informed you. “His thoughts just aren’t for my taste at the moment.”
“His thoughts?” You questioned as you slowly approached Saiki on his blanket until you were right in front of him. “Okay, then, what’s got you all bothered? Let me guess, he’s thinking dirty things, right?”
“Sort of.” He replied.
“I bet it’s about Teruhashi,” you theorized. “Is that why you don’t like it?”
“No, it’s not about Teruhashi.”
“Really? Then who?”
Saiki went quiet once more.
You sighed. Your head moving down to get a glimpse at his face. It wasn’t until you moved your hand over by his, your finger tips brushing with his accidentally to get more stability as you leaned in did you hear him finally confess.
“It was about you.”
To say that you needed a minute to take that in was an understatement. Kaido was a good guy and all, but it was kinda startling to realize he liked guys, as well as girls, since you didn’t suspect that even for a minute with him.
“Seriously?” You asked once more.
Saiki nodded. “He asked me if he could ask you out.”
“And what did you say?”
“No.”
You couldn’t help a smile crawl upon your face with that one. You knew it was a bit hard to read Saiki, especially when it came to you, but you were just beyond happy to hear that.
“Good,” you suddenly shot out. Saiki’s head moving back up in an instant to see your happy features. “I don’t like Kaido like that anyway, saves me from breaking his heart.”
“You don’t?”
“Nope.” You hummed out. You knew this may backfire on you in more ways than one, but right now, you didn’t care. The happiness you felt told you to take a chance and throw out the bait. “I know you can’t read my mind, but I actually do have someone I like.”
Saiki aimlessly stared at you for a moment and took in the words you confessed to him. It was an odd feeling, the rapid beating of his heart, but perhaps this was finally the start of things going his way for once.
On the second day of the trip, everyone went to Emerald Beach. It was one of the many places were people could stare at others and no one would think anything of it. A perverts dream. Though, for Saiki, he just wanted to hang out with you.
“Where’s [Name]?” Kaido asked Nendou as Saiki stood behind the two.
“He said he had to go buy a swimsuit. The one he brought apparently went missing.” Nendou told the blue haired boy.
Now, that want a mistake. Sure, it may have been a dirty trick but Saiki rather die than see you in the swimsuit you brought. After all, you bought a shirt with it. He knew you didn’t take off your shirt often, even at the beach, but he was determined to see you with just a pair of shorts.
Much like how all the guys that crowded around the girls changing house waited patiently to see Teruhashi in a two piece swim suit.
It was a while after Teruhashi came out, and when everyone was in the water that you made your appearance. You had your hands wedged into your swim shirt pockets as you allowed your feet to take in the hot sand that felt magical between your toes. You gazed around for a moment before noticing pink hair sitting under an umbrella.
A devilish smirk crawled on your features as you began to slowly approach the male. This may give Saiki a heart attack, but it was worth it. As you stood over him from behind, you attacked. Your body shot down as your arms wrapped aruund his neck and pushed your chest into his bare back.
“Hey, what’s a cute guy like you doing all alone at a place like this?” You teased, allowing your voice to go on for some time so that he realized it was just you.
Saiki immediately flinched at the contact before noticing it was just you. However, when he noticed the touch of your skin against his, he could feel his entire body heat up. The sensation was new, he’s felt his face go hot before, but his entire body was a new one.
“What took you so long?” Saiki tried to play off.
You just sighed and got a tighter grip on the male, your chest pushing more into his back. “Someone stole my swimsuit. Sadly, I didn’t have enough money to replace the whole thing, so I had to go by some swim shorts.”
“Hm, as least you’re here.” Saiki stated, making sure not to comment on the ‘stolen swimsuit’.
“Yeah,” you uttered as you released Saiki from your grasp and sat down next to him. You gazed out at the beautiful ocean that was filled with laughing people with this loving look in your eyes, all the while not realizing Saiki’s held that same gaze as he stared at you.
When you did turn to him, he completely lost himself in his mind as his eyes wondered about your figure. You weren’t the most fit guy in the world, but you did have these subtle yet enchanting muscle lines along your upper body that made Saiki lose himself.
“I saw that.” You suddenly said. Saiki’s eyes now darting back to yours. “You just checked me out.”
Saiki saw no way out of this one. So, he just confessed it. “So what if I was?”
In all honesty, he just expected you to laugh and tell him that it’s only fair if he does the same. However, the twist was unexpected and, well, definitely appreciated. He watched as you gazed down, this bashful look in your eyes as you did everything to avoid his gaze. Your body language wasn’t helping either. Your fingers were tapping against the towel and the heel of your foot was moving back and forth.
Maybe this trip wasn’t totally for nothing.
7. All That Was A Secret
Spring break. It was one of those weeks that Saiki went to go visit his grandparents all the way in the middle fo nowhere. So, for the most of this break, you were home alone.
It was kind of boring. This break was definitely not one that you looked forward to, more now then before, especially after the beach during the class trip. Those words always ended up repeating in your mind, way too much then you thought they would. Then again, you shouldn’t be surprised. All those days that you’d try to subtly touch him, tease him, it was just a way to relieve yourself of the pent up emotions you’ve had for him for a few years now.
Currently, you were in your room upon your bed, hugging one of your pillows close to your chest. You never tried to dwell on if Saiki felt the same or not, but recently, it’s been clawing at you more and more. It wasn’t like you didn’t think you had a chance, but more if Saiki was more comfortable just staying friends. You would understand, even if it would hurt, you’d do it for him. You’d do anything for that guy.
You sighed before slowly lifting your body off the bed. Today wasn’t a good day for being sad, it was summer break, after all. You knew you had to get your mind off Saiki, and him being away made it a bit easier. So, you grabbed some clothes from your closet and laid them on the bed. You weren’t sure what you were going to do, but you were determined to fine something to take your mind off him.
You let your pants drop to the ground before taking the ones on your bed and letting your legs slip through each of the pant legs. Next, you stripped your shirt off and took in a deep breath. You paused for a moment before dropping the dirty shirt on the ground and grabbing the new one. In all honestly, you never really pay attention to your surroundings when changing. But, does anyone? It wasn’t until your head went through the hole on the top of the shirt did you realize that the bed in front of you was now missing and the wall you were staring at was not the wall of your bed room. When you turned your head, you locked eyes with Saiki in an unfamiliar room.
“Huh?” You uttered under your breath before your eyes widened, your face felling hotter than usual before frantically pulling your shirt all the way down. Once down, you opened your mouth and said, “You can’t do that without me knowing! What if I was in the middle of a shower or something and not just changing?”
“I would have given you some of my clothes.” He replied nonchalantly.
You bit the inside of your cheek before crossing your arms over your chest. “Why did you teleport me anyway?”
“I can’t stand it here.” Saiki confessed. Of course, you knew he didn’t exactly enjoying visiting his grandparents but he has never done this before. “Just hang out with me. I’ll send you back after.”
You sighed. You can’t exactly say no after that, so, with that Saiki and you began to watch a movie. It wasn’t one you two watched before so it was easy to get lost in it. Though, it was also easy to focus on Saiki when he suddenly placed his hand on top of yours as you guys watched. You weren’t too sure if he thought you wouldn’t notice, but there was no way you were going to pull away. After all, it’s not like he placed his fingers between yours, if he did that, you don’t know if you could handle it.
After a half an hour into the movie you finally got the plot of it, and you weren’t amused at all. It was a best friends to lovers troupe. More specifically, childhood friends that drifted apart only to be brought back together by work and now slowly are developing feelings for one another. Let’s just say now, you were a little more than nervous.
Thank god Saiki couldn’t read your mind, because now, you feel like you’d give him a headache. You couldn’t help but ask yourself if he knows and is only doing this to taunt you, or maybe this was all just a big coincident. Yeah, one massive coincident. In reality though, Saiki was just teasing you. He had no idea of your feelings but he wanted to watch the movie with you to implant the idea in his mind of the possibility.
Well, his plan was working. Maybe a little too much. Though, as you were about to spit something out, your eyes suddenly shot down to the floor in embarrassment. Yep, a make out scene. Of course, Saiki had no idea about that, but it was better than just the sappy stuff cause now it was really ingrained in your head.
Once it was over and you had somewhat of your cool back you couldn’t help it. You needed to ask. If it blew up in flames, then so be it.
“Hey, Saiki,” you uttered out lowly. Saiki caught it immediately and turned his gaze on you. “I have a.. question.”
“What?” He asked.
“Well,” your voice trailed off as you moved your eyes down to where both of your hands connected. “We’ve been best friends for a long time now but, have you ever, um, thought about doing...that?
Saiki remained quiet for a moment, his thoughts going everywhere before thinking to himself, ‘All the time, actually.’
As much as he wish he could have said that telepathically, he could never try to say that vocally. So, he just opted for a nod and watched your body flinch. The hand he touched growing warm.
“You’re hot.” Saiki suddenly spit out. This time, you brought your hand back to your body so he couldn’t tell anymore.
“S-So what?” You stuttered out.
To say that Saiki didn’t like this side of you was an understatement. He’s never never seen you so flustered before, and it was really adorable to look at.
“It’s cute.” Saiki commented, his body leaning in just to see your face closer.
You turned your head to the side, eyes darting to the tv just to look away for a moment to compose yourself. You knew that there wasn’t gonna be another perfect moment like this so, you slowly reached over to place your hand on the back of Saiki’s neck. It was warm. When he noticed what you wanted as you started to lean back and gently pull him with you, he complied quickly until he gazed at you from above. Suddenly, he was jealous at the fact that Kaido got to see this view before him.
He stared at you for a moment before watching you bite down on your bottom lip, his mind doing backflips at the want to read your mind, but also at how good you looked under him.
“Kiss me.” You whispered under your breath, just loud enough for him to hear.
“If I do,” Saiki uttered lowly. “I might not be able to stop.”
“That’s okay.”

(just wanted to ramble because I couldn't sleep)
In your opinion, how is Byakuya been able to resist Tsukishima influence and stay on Ichigo's side, while his "best friend" and girl who is infatuated with him failed horribly?
Actually, I really loved your approach in "Fiercely", where you wrote how Ichigo was hurt from their betrayal. It was really interesting and on point. It made me think, that in manga Ichi dismissed this issue waaay too fast for my liking. Giving how mad and hurt he was, he even killed Ginjo. So I really liked what you did here.
You know, I almost wish we could have seen how Rukia would react to Tsukishima. (I have no doubt she would have resisted him)
I'm sure it helped that Byakuya is an adult and a Captain-level shinigami, but I don't think that sufficiently explains it. I think Byakuya's loyalty to Ichigo simply outweighed his false/implanted memories of and loyalty towards Tsukishima. Remember: Ichigo saved Rukia and allowed Byakuya to keep his promise to the love of his life, Hisana. He taught him what it means to be a good brother and gave him the opportunity to fix his relationship with Rukia. And last but not least, he saved Soul Society and Karakura from Aizen at great personal cost.
At the end of their fight, when Tsukishima lies dying on the ground, Byakuya says to him: "I cannot begin to repay the debts I owe you. Such is my gratitude. However, you are an enemy of Kurosaki Ichigo. Debt or not... I feel no remorse in cutting you down."
(In the subbed anime, his line is, "You are indeed my benefactor, and I appreciate it. However, you are Kurosaki Ichigo's enemy. I will not hesitate to kill that enemy. Regardless of who they are.")
Whichever translation you prefer, Byakuya's statement is clear: his bond with and respect for Ichigo are stronger than the false memories Tsukishima implanted.
The same cannot be said for Chad or Orihime. Not only do they each believe Tsukishima's implanted, false memories over Ichigo; they turn against him. Sure, Orihime has a moment where she feels sad and cries about Ichigo crying, but she is utterly incapable of helping Ichigo when it counts. Honestly, Kubo was really a troll for having her tell Riruka all about how "Kurosaki-kun helped her" (Tatsuki-chan who?) and then swearing she'd heal all his wounds, only to have her sobbing helplessly like a toddler with a tummy ache, complete with a runny nose.
Chad, too, is incapable of helping Ichigo and once more gets left in the dust. Kubo can't resist doing him dirty, either.
Anyway, I digress.
I agree with you, I think Rukia, if cut by Tsukishima, would be able to resist him just as Byakuya did. Her bond with Ichigo, after all, is stronger than any other in the series.
*I'm including both translations here - the manga translation I used is from a scanlation - as Viz's translations can be... iffy. Though in this case the official sub actually comes across as a stronger statement of loyalty towards Ichigo.

HI @vrisrezis! This is a long one but don't feel pressured to do it anytime soon. 🤗🤗
I can't stop thinking about this! Like in that episode in season 1, where Ichi is pretending to be Kara in front of Oso--would the NEETs ever, when stuck in a situation they can't be at an important date or appointment with their s/o, have their brothers stand in for them in order to save their own asses? And if they do, who would impersonate the other brother the best?
The biggest example I can think of is missing an anniversary dinner reservation because the Matsu bf got stuck in some crazy Matsuno madness lol.
Note: s/o gets really pissed off and upset when they find out that the sextuplets were tricking her. Like come on, that's their bf! Of course the s/o will find out the truth, especially with these goofy brothers
While Osomatsu is the most likely to do something like this, the bigger question is, what brother of his is actually willing to go along with this plan? Well, it’s actually totty because the eldest blackmailed him. Honestly, when it comes to the eldest I can’t see any of them actually wanting to help him out but the youngest is the best at this easily since he’s good at impersonating his brothers in general but you’re quick to catch on because he’s acting too.. weird. Talking about sex way more often than usual, it becomes apparent that it isn’t him. But he just gives you the “I’m sorry! Listen he was busy and didn’t wanna upset you by missing this! It’s not my fault you’re dating the worst of us!”
Karamatsu would NEVER do this. Unfortunately for him, he’d feel way too guilty about it. You’d think he’d be the kinda guy, since he’s referred to as shittymatsu for a reason, and he is not exactly a perfect angel all the time, but he seriously can not go through with it. Lying to you just to save his ass? Just no. I will say though that while all the brothers are horrible at impersonating him, Choromatsu does it the best. Unfortunately Choromatsu is a horrible liar, and ends up cringing at the shit he says.
Speaking of Choromatsu, this idea would have to be brought up to him by another brother of his. Most likely Osomatsu. He’d say how horrible that is but honestly would be down for it if it saved him any yelling from you or you being upset with him. Osomatsu is actually real good at impersonating him but he gets bored halfway through and ends up confessing “yeah sorry, guess your boyfriends just a dick?”
Ichimatsu would do this, but feel very guilty about it. He’d confess to you later that night about it anyways even if you didn’t find out so. Jyushimatsu is eerily good at his impression though, so it would actually be hard trying to figure him out.. well.. if it weren’t for the few times he’d crack into that Jyushimatsu smile of his for a split second.
Jyushimatsu is down for it, he goes to the brother he’s closest to, Ichimatsu! The youngest may have come up with the idea, but no way in hell does he trust him to do a good impression! He is making his poor brother suffer with this, it was bound to be a failure honestly. “Listen I don’t even know why he asked me to do this. But you and I both know this isn’t really like him. I just think you should not get too mad at him for this one.”
Todomatsus plan, as you’d expect from this little devil. He unfortunately had karamatsu do this job for him because no other brother could. It was horrible, and painfully obvious since karamatsu had very distinct eyebrows that he totally wasn’t jealous of. It’s not like he ever told you that either. Not like he told you he wished he had perfect brows like his. That’s totally not what gave karamatsu away.

Howdy fam-fam! Still recovering from that Iromatsu whump you massacred me with (lol it was consensual though so I don't blame you 😂😭) but I'd still like to make another request, please! I'd like to throw a mega combo of 10A + 20 for, you guessed it, TODOMA-Ichi, for Ichimatsu please 😂👌
Ngl I thought I'd get annoying real fast with all the Ichi whump requests, but then you showed what you had in your inbox for WIPs and I felt a little better, because everyone loves to request different things so often! What can I say, I can't deny the Ichimatsu whump whore in me (I'm awful😂😭) lol thanks for reading my ramblings and thanks for the feels! Love you fam! 💞
Ultimate Whump Writing Meme! / ACCEPTING!
10. Mood disorders
A. Major depression/clinical depression
+
20. Starvation
GIRL PLEASE 😂😂😂
also ur right you don’t blame me for that shit because u literally asked for it fam XD
you are NEVER EVER annoying me with Ichi whump!! the only thing I love more than Ichimatsu is torturing Ichimatsu, you know I’m right there with you being an Ichi whump whore
ANYWAYS what’s interesting is that depression can actually be a potential cause of starvation, i.e. when a person with depression experiences those symptoms that make basic hygiene and functioning and taking care of themselves difficult, so... this wasn’t too big a leap to figure how best to put these two things together! uwu
I had a good time writing it, the first half or so is Allmatsu with some Nenchuu and Parka sprinkled in, then the last half is mostly Iromatsu because I’m fucking WEAK 😂
enjooooooy fam-fam!
-
When it comes right down to it, it’s not as if Ichimatsu means to miss meals.
One would think that because he and his brothers eat at home most of the time, it would be harder to do that without drawing attention. They all have breakfast, lunch, and dinner around the same table, at the same time. At least one of them always notices when one isn’t eating.
They do, too. Osomatsu especially takes note of it and tries to prod if someone isn’t eating like usual; as the oldest, he asks a barrage of questions. “How come you’re not eating? Is your stomach upset? Do you feel sick?” As much as he pretends to be a complete shithead, he loves his brothers. He doesn’t let anything slip by.
That said, he takes it easier on Ichimatsu. He accepts, “Depression’s a bitch and I’m not hungry” as an answer readily from Ichimatsu. After all, what’s he going to do, jump across the table and force breakfast down his little brother’s throat? As long as Ichimatsu takes a bite or two at meals, more than just nothing, he’s satisfied.
Most of the time, these spells of not wanting to eat because of his depression only last a day or two. After that point, he gets too hungry and he literally has to force food into his mouth, or have someone do it for him. Once he eats, he even feels a little better overall. The whole process is stupid and he really wishes his brain wouldn’t be like this. It’s just lucky that the lack of appetite never lasts too long.
However, at the moment he’s struggling to remember eating more than a few bites in the last couple of weeks.
It’s not that he isn’t hungry. On the contrary, his stomach growls at every meal and he sort of wants to eat. The problem is the depression whispering in his ear worse than normal, partly telling him he doesn’t deserve the food and partly telling him nothing would taste good and partly telling him he just doesn’t have the energy to eat.
That’s strange and stupid, to think he’s too exhausted to lift a piece of food in his chopsticks, put it in his mouth, chew it, and swallow it. It just sounds like a lot of work, particularly because it wouldn’t just be one time. He’d have to do it over and over until he’d eaten a full meal. What would it be? Ten times of lifting the food, putting it in his mouth, chewing it, and swallowing it? Twenty? How much is he supposed to eat?
He’s definitely not going to ask one of his brothers to feed him regularly. That’s fucking humiliating, even though he knows any of them would do it in a heartbeat if they knew his depression was affecting his ability to eat.
It is, but he doesn’t want them worrying. If it were just a handful of days, he would ask one of them to help him shove some food down his throat. It’s been several weeks, though. Part of him wonders why no one has caught on, because it’s never happened quite like this before. Osomatsu at least has to be noticing that Ichimatsu only takes a couple bites at each meal, right?
Then his stupid unbalanced brain kicks him right down again. With wonderful thoughts such as, Of course he doesn’t notice, dumbass. You think he really cares that you’re not eating enough? and Maybe he notices, but he’s stopped giving a shit. They all want you dead anyway.
It’s all he can do to shut that crap up, and it doesn’t work very well. He still can’t bring himself to take more than three bites at a time. After that, he’s too drained to keep going even though he’s hungry.
It would be a miracle if he’s eaten an actual full meal in the last two weeks or so. The worst part is that he has fucking hunger pangs, painful and almost like he’s being stabbed in the stomach, and even that isn’t motivation enough for his depression to step aside and let him eat.
Because he’s still trying to eat a little, because he hasn’t gone to eating nothing at all, his brothers apparently haven’t raised the alarm. He thinks if they knew how bad this was, they’d all be stuffing food into his mouth at every opportunity.
Staring down at the table full of food right now during today’s lunch is borderline torture. He’s taken two bites, just like he did at breakfast, and he’s fighting to keep his eyes open. Everything smells so good, his mouth is watering, and yet it feels like there’s a lead weight tied to his arm. Raising it to take another bite is impossible.
The sound of his brothers chewing their own food, enjoying the meal, making semi-pleasant conversation, is unbearable. His head is foggy from lack of food… everything is annoying… his heart feels like it’s soft-shoeing against his ribs… his breathing is kind of funny, too, isn’t it?
Dammit. All he can think about is how great everything tastes, like it always does, how much he wants to eat more than a couple bites and how little energy he has because he hasn’t been eating enough. To his mind, a tall glass of ice water and going back to sleep sounds like a good replacement, though.
He lifts his cup of tea to his lips, sipping at it as fast as he can without hurting his stomach. Uh… is… is my hand shaking…? Fuck… I’m so tired…
“Hey, Ichimatsu,” a voice breaks him out of his thoughts. It’s easy enough to identify, so he doesn’t have to look up, although he does anyway. Choromatsu’s gaze is more than a little concerned. “Aren’t you going to eat the rest of your lunch? You only took, like, two bites and we’re all almost done.”
Osomatsu reaches over to nudge the fourth eldest. “Yeah, you haven’t been eating a lot lately. What’s going on, dude?? You not feeling good?”
“It’s ‘well’, Osomatsu. Not feeling ‘well’.”
“Ah, shut the fuck up, Fappy.” Osomatsu pops in the last bite of his own food, speaking around it. “So, what’s up, Ichimacchan? Does your stomach hurt?”
He can’t… he can’t do this. He doesn’t want to admit how bad it’s gotten. Not only does it make him feel like a failure as an adult, that he can’t even manage to fucking feed himself, he also doesn’t want his brothers to worry. They worry enough about him already even though they shouldn’t.
He swallows another mouthful of tea before trying to answer. “No… it’s just… the depression again. Don’t feel like doing anything, you know?”
“Oh.” Osomatsu takes advantage of the general mood to sneak a sausage off Choromatsu’s plate and into his mouth. “Well, you want one of us to shove something down you? You gotta eat, bro!”
“… Hey! Osomatsu!” A glare is sent the eldest’s way as Choromatsu processes that part of his meal was just stolen. “That was mine, you thief!”
“Hey, yourself, Choromacchan. You know the rule, I’m the big dog, so anything you’re not actively chewing could be mine. Mmf… put that huge, veiny brain of yours to good use and figure out what we’re gonna do about Ichimatsu.”
“You don’t need to do anything about me,” Ichimatsu huffs. God, they’re all so fucking loud and obnoxious. He’s got walking headaches for brothers. “I’m fine. It’ll probably be better by tomorrow.”
Except, he doesn’t know that. If it hasn’t gotten better by now, why would it suddenly be any better by tomorrow?
Jyushimatsu is long done with his own food and on his third cup of tea, poking at Ichimatsu’s shoulder. “Aaaah, Ichimatsu-nii-san, maybe you could come play baseball with me! That might get your energy back up! Wake up your whole body!”
Oh, for the love of all that is crap, no. That’s the worst idea Ichimatsu has ever heard. If he can’t manage to get himself fed, how the hell would he play baseball right now in any way? He thinks he’d puke stomach acid if he let himself be waved around on the bat, and trying to be active would just result in passing out.
“Probably not today, Jyushi,” he sighs. He feels a little guilty saying that; normally he loves spending time with his little brother. It’s just hard when he can’t imagine himself walking more than a couple steps today. He’s not even sure he can drag himself up the stairs to the spare room. “I think I’m gonna take a nap.”
With that, he pushes himself away from the table. Why even keep up the charade? Most of the others are nearly done with their meal, he’s told them what the problem is, and he doesn’t need to be sitting here trying to choke down the rest of his tea and violently trying to ignore every single stupid thing they say.
“I’m gonna head upstairs and try to sleep this shit off,” he mumbles, just so everyone else knows the general plan. Not only does his depression screw with his ability to eat properly, they all know it fucks with his sleeping too. “Wake me for dinner, I guess.”
He hears Choromatsu hum as he gets to his feet. “Okay, well, try to get some rest. If you won’t bite our heads off, we can come up with some snacks later and maybe get some food in you.”
Ichimatsu raises his hand and turns toward the doorway. “Yeah, I’ll try not to. Just… uh… uh, just… um…”
Oh, fuck.
Everything happens in quick succession, so fast he can’t stop it even if he tried. As soon as he turns, a wave of dizziness crashes over him. His head spins like a top, and he feels as if he’s floating outside his body. A sharp, gnawing pain shoots through his body from his stomach, too empty, a black hole collapsing in on itself.
He goes down like a bag of rocks. It’s just lucky the floor is soft.
The last thing he hears is Choromatsu shouting, “Oh, my God! MOM! Ichimatsu just passed out!!”, then he slips into darkness.
-
When Ichimatsu wakes up, the lights are too bright. He can see them through his eyelids. Things are too noisy; there’s beeping and people walking by and people talking and…
… A lullaby being hummed in a low deep voice?
He’s still tired, but he feels a little better than he remembers feeling a few hours ago. Everything is kind of achy, his heart is less fluttery, and the hunger pangs aren’t quite as bad as they were. He barely recalls anything after getting up to leave the table at lunch, a little bit about feeling lightheaded and then hearing one of his brothers yell.
How did he get here? Where is ‘here’? This definitely isn’t home. The beeping isn’t anything he recognizes, and the scent of antiseptic is, like, burning his sinuses.
He lets out a soft groan and tries to turn onto his side, only to find there’s something stuck in his arm. A glance down reveals that it’s… an IV line? Shit. There’s a needle in his arm, connected to a tube, connected to a bag, of who fucking knows what.
The activity catches the attention of whoever’s with him, and when he feels a hand full of calluses gently holding his arm as if to keep him down, he knows instantly that his only companion in the room is Karamatsu. “Careful now, brother. You can’t move too much or you’ll pull that out, and you need it right now.”
“Mmmh… Kara…?” Ichimatsu tries to relax, having one of his brothers so close now. Even though it’s Karamatsu, this is still his big brother. It’s infinitely better than waking up alone in a weird place after feeling like crap. “Where am I?”
Karamatsu’s hand moves down so that Ichimatsu can take it. “The hospital. Everyone else stepped out for just a moment to get something to eat.” He thinks he hears a frown in his brother’s voice. “Coincidentally, eating seems to be your problem, too.”
He does his best to scoff. It comes out weak and has none of his usual bite to it, which is aggravating. “Yeah, well. I’m fucking starving.”
When Karamatsu speaks again, his voice sounds close to breaking. “Yes, you literally are.”
… Oh. Well. Shit. That is… not promising.
“Uhhhh.” Although Ichimatsu isn’t stupid, he’s having trouble fully putting the pieces together. “What… what happened? All I remember is getting up from the table, then the world went black.”
“Hmph. You fainted. The doctor said it’s because you’re undernourished. They’ve got you on intravenous nutrition right now to try and… get everything back in order before they make you start eating real food again.” Karamatsu snorts, though there’s absolutely no derision or amusement in it. “All the nurses are calling your room ‘Starvation Central’.”
Okay. Welp. None of that is good at all. For medical professionals to actually use the term starvation in reference to him, it must be an accurate description. Was he really eating that little that he basically starved himself??
He… supposes there’s really no denying that’s what happened. In the last two weeks, he’s likely only eaten like ten bites of food a day, if that. No full meals. Not even half a meal or a third of a meal like Choromatsu sometimes does.
The thought strikes him that he might only be not more seriously ill because he’s been drinking enough water. That’s a scary thought; that he literally could have starved himself to death. Even though he gets those suicidal feelings sometimes, this time it wasn’t intentional, and… he doesn’t want to die. Not really.
He doesn’t know what to say, though. Karamatsu is obviously worried about him, he’s sure all of his other brothers are as well, and he’d be surprised if his parents aren’t panicking knowing one of their children has been eating so little he starved himself.
So he keeps his head down. Thinking about this, if he tries to say anything, he thinks he might start crying. He hates crying in front of his brothers, and especially in front of Karamatsu.
“Ichimatsu…” As usual, Karamatsu seems content to do most of the talking. His hand lightly squeezes Ichimatsu’s. “We noticed you weren’t eating much at meals… we thought maybe you were having snacks in between. We didn’t know you were barely eating at all. The doctor said you’ve lost almost 8 kg. in the last two weeks.”
Ichimatsu can’t stop himself: “Holy shit.” That’s a lot. That’s a lot of weight to lose in only a couple weeks. Even if he’s not technically underweight right now, he knows it’s not healthy to have lost that much so fast.
Karamatsu’s voice is soft and nonjudgmental, but that might be why it cuts through Ichimatsu so deeply. “What’s going on, my brother? You need to talk to us. The doctor thinks you’ve got an eating disorder.”
“Wh…” If there was any anger swirling around inside him, it’s solidified into something icy. “That’s bullshit! You know that’s a load of crap, right? You don’t really believe that, do you?”
“I don’t know what to believe. Look where you are, Ichimatsu.” Karamatsu squeezes his hand again, and Ichimatsu could just fucking kill himself when he sees that there are tears in his brother’s eyes. “You’re in the hospital. You haven’t been eating. When I went to get coffee earlier, I heard the nurses talking, and one of them called you ‘an anorexic whose family is in denial’ and… and I got angry that they would talk about you like that… but then I thought… ‘what if she’s right?’ None of us want to think that, but…”
What a bunch of shit. He misses some meals and now he’s got nurses gossiping about his mental health? “Did any of the stupid-ass doctors or nurses look at my chart? Don’t they know I’m depressed? They’re fucking idiots if they don’t know that messes with how somebody eats.”
Karamatsu lets his hand slip from Ichimatsu’s, and he takes a deep breath. “… Please. Just tell me the truth, brother. Have you not been eating on purpose?”
“No, you dumbass! I didn’t… I didn’t mean to not eat!” And he’s pissed again. The anger is still cold inside him, trying to break free out of the prison that depression has his emotions in. “I… I didn’t mean to…” He bites down on his lip and suddenly wishes Karamatsu hadn’t let go of his hand.
Almost as if Karamatsu can read his mind, he leans forward to start rubbing Ichimatsu’s back. It’s even better than holding hands. “Then tell me what’s going on in your mind. If we know, then maybe we can help. Even if we can’t, we can still support you. Is it the depression? Have you been feeling terrible and numb and tired for weeks?”
Ichimatsu nods. If he could just slump over into Karamatsu’s embrace, he probably would right now. “Y… yeah. It’s just gotten bad… I kept thinking it was gonna get better tomorrow, gonna get better tomorrow, and it… it never did. I’m not usually so bad I can’t eat… but… the last couple weeks, I’ve just been… so exhausted. I know I’ve skipped the bathhouse a couple times… and I’ve been sleeping a lot…”
He shakes his head with a sigh. “I didn’t want you guys to have to force me to eat at every single meal for weeks, so I just… I didn’t say anything. Fuck… and you all… you would have, huh? You care so much about trash like me, and I can’t even just fucking let you…”
“You are not trash.” Karamatsu’s voice is firm now, with absolutely no room for argument despite the fact that Ichimatsu feels like it’s a lie. He gets up from his chair and Ichimatsu is enveloped in a warm hug within seconds. Even though he can’t hug back, because of his IV and because he just doesn’t have the energy to move much, he can at least press himself into it, let himself be held. “You’re our brother who we love very much.”
It feels like they stay this way for a while. In reality, it might only be a few minutes. If nothing else, Ichimatsu feels safe inside one of his older brothers’ hugs. They can protect him from even himself, embracing him like this and shutting out everything else.
Finally, Karamatsu speaks up again. “If your depression has gotten this bad that you can’t bring yourself to eat… Ichimatsu… you can’t ignore it anymore. You cannot just keep ‘working around it’ if it’s to the point that you can’t take care of yourself or even ask us to help take care of you. Things have progressed too far, my dear brother… your mind is very ill.”
He rests his head on top of Ichimatsu’s, letting his little brother bury his face in his chest. As far as Ichimatsu is concerned, even though this feels like he’s breaking down, that he’s already been broken for so long, it’s still comforting. Someone is trying to take care of him. “The doctor says you have to stay and have your treatment… it could take up to two weeks. And after that, they want to set up an appointment with a psychiatrist for you. So that maybe someone who knows what they’re doing can help you get better.”
Ichimatsu hates the idea. It’s not the worst idea ever, but he hates it. Why can’t he just go home? Everyone who loves him is at home. They can take care of him. They can help him get better, can’t they?
“I just wanna go home,” he mumbles, hiding himself against Karamatsu. “Can’t I just go home now and start eating again and then I… I promise I’ll tell you guys if it gets this bad again…”
Karamatsu shakes his head. His hand strokes gingerly between Ichimatsu’s shoulder blades. “You can’t start eating at home, not yet. You have to be on the IV for the rest of today, then they have to monitor you carefully when you start liquid food, then solids. If they don’t keep an eye on you here, you could get very sick. And we all think you truly should go for the psychiatrist’s appointment… none of us are doctors, Ichimatsu.”
He feels a soft kiss brushed over his head. “We love you very much, and we’ll support you in every way we can… but… you’re ill, just in your mind instead of your body. So you need a doctor for your mind to make you better. Just like we wouldn’t know how to treat pneumonia, we also don’t know how to treat depression. Will you please… please make that appointment after you recover here?”
When he gives Ichimatsu a squeeze, it almost feels… desperate.
“… We want you to be healthy, Ichimatsu. You deserve to be. You can’t keep going on like this, in pain forever. We don’t want you to be hurting for your whole life, and you… you deserve so much better than that.”
Ichimatsu feels his heart sink into his stomach as it hits him just how bad things have gotten. He let himself starve because he was so weighed down by depression that he just couldn’t feed himself. He sleeps so much that he misses a lot of things going on around him. There’s a constant ache in his chest and thoughts in his brain telling him he shouldn’t be alive and there’s nothing good about him and he’s unlovable and so many other things.
Maybe Karamatsu’s right. Maybe things have gone too far and he can’t just brush everything aside anymore.
For once, his mind actually gives him a push in the right direction.
You’re not really happy, are you?
You’re not really living.
You’re just alive.
“I’m scared,” he grunts, and somehow, somehow, he manages to lift his arm just enough to rest against his brother’s hip. As if he’s looking for a handhold, some thin lifeline he can cling to so he can pull himself up out of the darkness he’s been drowning in. “I… I don’t wanna… will you… God. It’s been so hard to feel anything for weeks… now that I can sort of feel… it’s so stupid that the first thing I’m feeling is scared. Kara, if I… make that appointment… will you… maybe… come with me?”
Karamatsu hums, thoughtfully, a vibration Ichimatsu can feel through his whole body. The promise of his brothers being so close and trying so hard to help him sort of wakes up his emotions. There’s fear, being afraid to do something new and different… but… there’s also relief. He’s not just holding all this crap inside anymore. Somebody else knows, and it’s his big brother, and he’s trying so hard to help. “Of course. I’m sure the others would be happy to do so as well.”
All at once, he can feel himself relaxing. That’s it. He guesses that’s what he needed to hear, because the anxiety is starting to ebb away, he doesn’t feel as cold inside anymore, he feels okay to be sharing all this horrible shit.
“Th… thanks. I think… I think I can do it, then. Or at least I’ll try.” He shifts a little bit, so he can nuzzle up against Karamatsu’s collarbone. Fuck. He’s gonna stay here forever, or at least until he falls asleep, feeling so much safer with one of his brothers than he ever does on his own.
There’s a long road ahead if he chooses to have a bunch of appointments with whatever psychiatrist the hospital recommends, or with anyone. There are gonna be so many steps, uphill and downhill, and maybe medicine, and everything is going to suck until he starts to feel better. He can’t imagine right now taking a hundred steps toward feeling better; he can hardly imagine taking one.
But for some reason, the thought of taking a hundred steps seems easier if he’s got his brothers next to him while he takes them.
“… Hey,” he mutters, “did you say they’re gonna start me on real food tomorrow?”
“Hm? Oh. Yes, I believe they said they want to start you on liquids tomorrow, for two or three days, before trying to feed you anything solid.”
“Man… the answer’s probably gonna be no, but, are you sure you can’t sneak me a burger from the cafeteria or something?”
Of course, the answer is no. But Karamatsu is holding back laughter as he says it, and after a second, Ichimatsu starts laughing too. “You know I cannot do that, dear brother!”
“Yeahhhh.” He closes his eyes. “I’m just really fucking hungry, you know?”

Ogami Banri: Birthday 2020 Rabbit TV Part 1
Tsumugi: Yes, yes…! Thank you! We will definitely visit there!
T: ...Yes, please take care of it! Excuse me.
Banri: What did the owner from Chainana Town say?
T: Thanks to the presentation of Chainana Town that everyone in IDOLiSH7 participated in, it seems it’s in good condition!
B: Aaah….! The project that TRIGGER, Re:vale, and ZOOL also participated in huh.
T: Yes! And so it seems like they’ll send Town tickets to the agency so the managers should definitely come too, is what he said…
T: AH….! That reminds me, it’s almost September, Banri-san’s birthday…!
T: If we pretend that we are inspecting Chinana Town, maybe we can do a surprise without him noticing...!
B: I’m thankful for the tickets! Let’s go tell everyone.
T: I wonder if it’s okay to invite Anesagi-san and Okazaki-san again…
B: …………? Tsumugi-san? What’s wrong?
B: Oooi, ...Tsumugi-san.
T: Waah?!
B: Waah! You scared me. You finally noticed.
T: Wh-What is it?
B: What is it… Even though I was calling you, you were spacing out.
T: I-It’s nothing! Nothing!
B: Hahah. You don’t have to wave your hands so hard.
B: ...Are you hiding something from me?
T: Tha-...
[Door Opening Sound]
Tamaki: Heeeeey, Ban-chan, Manager!
Tamaki & Riku & Nagi: Good work!
Tamaki: ………..? What’s with this atmosphere?
Tsumugi: Heh?!
Riku: Were Banri-san and Manager fighting?!
Banri: Fighting?!
Nagi: OH, Banri. What were you doing with a lady?
Banri: No no, I wasn’t doing anything though?!
Tsumugi: ...Ah, right! It’s almost time to take Kinako on a walk.
Tsumugi: Banri-san, can I ask you to?
Banri: Eh? … Ah, I get it.
Banri: Then, I’ll be going out for a bit! If anything happens, contact me!
[Door Closing Sound]
Tamaki: ...What was that?
Riku: Manager, were you really fighting?!
Nagi: What in the world...
Tsumugi: I-It’s not, it’s not! I wanted to get Banri-san outside for a little just now…
Tsumugi: Can you call the other members?
IDOLiSH7: A surprise celebration at Chainana Town?!
Tsumugi: Yes! They will give us invitation tickets for the town out of their kindness, so I was thinking if we could celebrate Banri-san at that opportunity...
Riku: I see! I thought it was...
Iori: ? You thought what?
Riku: N-Nothing!
Yamato: Sounds good. We brought him to Taiwan last year was it?
Mitsuki: Right right! Called the other group’s managers too.
Tamaki: Isn’t it better to go as four again?
Nagi: Definitely please use the tickets and go!
Iori: Right. Combine Oogami-san’s celebration and the managers’ recreation.
Tsumugi: I-Is it fine…?
Riku: Of course! ...Ah, but, we want to do something for him too!
Iori: Right. I wonder if we can ask our senpais for help again.
Mitsuki: … Yeah! We’re the ones who know about Chainana Town right?
Mitsuki: How about making a celebration plan with everyone and making him walk the town as we plan?
Nagi: That’s wonderful, Mitsuki! It’s the best mission where we can celebrate Banri without him noticing it!
Yamato: Right, if that’s been decided, we have to contact those we did the job with.
Tsumugi: Thank you very much, everyone...!
Riku: Ah, I know Touma-san’s Rabbit Chat! Should I contact him if they can help us?
Yamato: … The guys from ZOOL didn’t know what we did last year so somehow I’m worried about RIku explaining it...
Yamato: Sou, you were pretty friendly with Midou right.
Sogo: Umm… I don’t think we’re exactly friendly but I know his contact information.
Yamato: S-Somehow I’m sorry. Then, can I ask you to be the one who contacts ZOOL?
Sogo: Got it. I’ll try contacting them.
Tamaki: Hey, Yama-san! I even know Isumin’s Rabbit Chat!
Iori: M-Me too.
Nagi: And Yamato also knows Natsume-shi’s Rabbit Chat right?
Yamato: No, why does everyone want to be the person to contact. I asked Sou, it’s been decided!
Yamato: So then, about TRIGGER...
Riku: Yes! Yes! I can do that one! I’ll tell Tenn-nii!
Mitsuki: You raised your hand like a kid on a class visitation day...
Yamato: Okay okay. It’s Riku.
Yamato: So Re:Vale is...
Mitsuki: That’s you right.
Yamato: ...No, there is an option to choose Ichi as a curveball.
Iori: What kind of ball is that. Nikaido-san, who is most friendly with Yuki-san, should do it.
Yamato: Ta-Tama...
Sogo: Wh-... Ta-Tamaki-kun? To send such a frank Rabbit Chat to our senpais is a very honorable thing isn’t it?!
Nagi: I got it. I was talking to Mr. Yuki about some new stuff from a foreign brand once, and then I received such thing from Mr. Momo...
Tamaki: Uwah, a Rabbit Chat spam isn’t it.
Sogo: Y-You guys…
Mitsuki: Kay, it’s been decided as Ossan.
Yamato: ...Re:vale is amazing in many ways...
Torao: ...What’s this? Sougo…?
Torao: Oi, you guys come over here. It’s a Rabbit Chat from Sougo.
Haruka: What? You friends?
Torao: Well, I know him from before. Here, look.
Toma: What what?
Toma: Good work. This is IDOLiSH7’s Ousaka. I’m contacting you about the job we did together at Chainana Town the other time.
Toma: ...Wow, it’s so formal! Is this really the Rabbit Chat from a friend?!
Torao: He’s like this.
Minami: Mido-san… Should I send you a slack chat one day?
Torao: A slack chat?
Minami: Like, sending my impression about the ramen place I went.
Torao: Don’t use my chat as a memo.
Minami: Oh, I was found out.
Haruka: ...So? What’s the main subject?
Torao: It seems he wants to gather the points that we would recommend about Chainana Town.
Toma: Heeh. …. Ah, they want to bring MEZZO’’s manager to those recommended places huh!
Haruka: Why?
Torao: Maybe they want to treat him to a surprise. Seems it’s his birthday.
Haruka: ...They celebrate Manager birthdays huh.
Toma: ...We can celebrate it anytime from now on right. Because we learned the feeling of wanting to deliver our emotions.
Haruka: ...Yeah...
Minami: To start, shall we send the report of the ramen shop?
Torao: Hahah. That might be good at first. ...To Ryo-san.
Toma: Anyways, this is something only we can do right! Let’s do it!
Toma: I’ll gather the recommendation of the palmistry place!
Haruka: Then… For me, the place I ate manju with Yotsuba.
Minami: For me, it’s about the spices.
Torao: I’ll pick the foot massage where I competed with Yaotome Gaku.
Toma: Right! I’ll send it to Tora after I gather the info, who’ll contact Sougo! It’s decided!
Tenn: ...Hey, you two. I got a Rabbit Chat from Riku...
Gaku: Ooh, what’s up with Nanase? Is he okay.
Ryuunosuke: Does Riku-kun seem okay lately?
Tenn: ...Is Riku your secret brother or something?
Gaku: What are you saying. I’m an only child.
Ryuunosuke: I might be happy if Riku-kun called me his older brother!
Tenn: ...Going back to the main subject, he was asking if we would participate in celebrating MEZZO’’s manager’s birthday this year too.
Gaku: Oh, the one that Anesagi went with last year huh!
Tenn: Yeah, that. Seems like they want us to make a recommended plan where we introduce Chinana Town.
Tenn: Inviting Anesagi-san, Ogami-san, Takanashi-san, and Okazaki-san and making a tour based on the plan would be nice, is what he said.
Gaku: That sounds good! It’s a recreational trip for the managers combined with Ogami-san’s celebration huh.
Ryuunosuke: Not just Anesagi-san, we’re taken care of by everyone huh.
Tenn: Right. We should do it too.
Ryuunosuke: Yeah! Plus if we’re talking about the Chainana Town job, we enjoyed it a lot too! I have a lot of things I want to recommend!
Tenn: Fufuh. I’ll gather the info about the cafes. I have to think carefully to not overlap with Izumi Mitsuki.
Gaku: I’ll do a foot massage! The competition with Mido was hyped.
Ryuunosuke: Um, I’ll do the photo booth that I went to with Yamato-kun! It might be fun for Anesagi-san and the others to wear costumes too?
Gaku: Seems like we can gather it quickly. Let’s hurry and contact Nanase!
Yuki: Listen, Momo. I got a Rabbit Chat from Yamato-kun.
Momo: Eeeh?! Yamato?! That’s unusual, what happened?
Momo: Perhaps, could it be a Rabbit Chat about how even though he wants to be nicer to Yuki, he can’t be honest…?!
Yuki: I wouldn’t be talking to Momo about such a Rabbit Chat now.
Momo: ….Wait Darling, what do you mean?! Hiding something from Momo-chan, how do you expect it to go with Yamato…?!
Yuki: This, read it.
Momo: Wh-What is it…..!
Momo: ...Invite Okarin too, want to treat the managers in Chainana Town…?
Yuki: Yeah. It’s MEZZO’’s manager’s, Ban’s, birthday so it’s an invitation for Okarin.
Momo: ...Like last year’s Taiwan trip...
Yuki: Yeah yeah. Because we had a job at Chainana Town. It seems they want to gather the points we recommend from that time.
Momo: I seeeee…! If it’s that kind of thing, it’s totally okay! Momo-chan will work hard to gather the info!
Yuki: Hahah. Momo introduced the place where you could judge antiques right.
Momo: Yeah! With Nagi huh! The underground atmosphere helped, it was super fun!
Momo: Yuki was cooking rice porridge with Riku!
Yuki: Yeah. Riku-kun mixed it for me.
Momo: That’s nice. I want to mix rice porridge with Yuki too! Should we make some as a present for Okarin?!
Yuki: Do you know how to make it?
Momo: Uuum… Boil the rice with water…?
Yuki: … This needs practice huh.
Momo: I-I got it. I’ll start with catching a cold so I can eat as much as rice porridge for practice!
Yuki: *Chuckle* Momo, you are trying to practice too seriously.
Yuki: Anyways, Ban, Kaoru-chan, Maneko-chan… And for Okarin to have fun too, let’s gather the recommended points.
Momo: Yeah!
Momo: I wish this will be the best experience for everyone!

Hello! I saw that your asks were open again and I was wondering if I could ask for a one shot for Ichigo. Maybe a jealousy one shot with him being jealous about you hanging out with someone. Maybe with the prompt “stop being so cute!” Thank you so much! ✨
Hello lovely ❤ You’re so welcome. I hope you like it.
Are You Jealous, Ichigo? || Ichigo x Reader
Tumblr media
Warnings: jealous, fluff, teasing
Word Count: 810
You could feel the piercing eyes of the orange-haired man on you as you spoke with the one person that Ichigo despised. He knew that he would never be able to stop your friendship with Renji Abarai, but he wished that there was a way that he could.
Ichigo wasn’t often the jealous type, but he had never liked that way that Renji watched you while you spoke to you. His eyes would wander your figure, taking in every bit of it as he listened to you. Renji had never kept his attraction to you a secret and it filled Ichigo with rage every time he was around the man.
Ichigo hated how close Renji would get to you as you exchanged words. He hated how long he hugged you when you were together. He hated the way that your name rolled over Renji’s tongue. The way he made you laugh made him want to knock the crimson-haired man on his ass. He hated anything and everything that man did, but when it came to you it just made it worse.
As your laugh rang out through the small area of the barracks of the 6th division you looked over in time to see Ichigo’s anger rising. And the fact that he was in his trademark kimono right now made him every angrier. The females in his barracks were always talking about how much they loved to see him in that kimono.
You placed an arm on Renji’s and gave him an apologetic smile. “I need to go and take care of an issue with the one staring at me right now.” You sighed. “I’ll see you later tho.”
Renji looked over at Ichigo and glared. “Carrot top will be fine. He’s just jealous that you have a friend of the opposite sex.” The annoyance on Renji’s face was present, so you gave him a small smile before walking away.
As you approached Ichigo you could hear the jealousy on his voice before he got more than a word out. His tone made you want to laugh, but you held back, knowing that it probably wasn’t the best idea. The last thing you wanted to do was deal with Ichigo’s hot head. “I’m glad that Renji can make you laugh so much. He must be a really funny guy.”
You wrapped your arms around Ichigo’s neck and hung off of him. Your attempt to relieve the situation proving to be unsuccessful. “Ichi, relax. You know that Renji and I are just friends and that’s all we’ll ever be.”
You could see Ichigo’s eyes darting to the man behind him. If looks could kill Renji would have been dead twenty times over, on more than one occasion. “I trust you, it’s him I don’t trust. Look at that lunk.” He motioned toward him as he noticed Renji’s attention going to another female around him. The usual when it came to the man that caught all the girl’s attention. “He thinks he’s some kind of lady killer.”
You couldn’t help but laugh at him now, and the look that you got made you regret it instantly. But you decided to say the words you had in your head anyway. “Ichigo? Are you jealous of Renji and I’s friendship?”
The veins in Ichigo’s forehead and neck looked like they would explode with how popped out they were now. “I’m not jealous of him! I could never be jealous of that idiot!” He was shouting now and you placed a hand over his mouth to quiet him.
“Chill out Ichigo Stop being so cute.” When you felt his figure relax under your touch you removed your hand. “I know you very well, and as much as you don’t want to admit it you’re jealous.” You placed your lips gently to his. “There’s nothing that you should be jealous of. You know that Renji isn’t my type. He’s too headstrong to be my type. You’re headstrong too, but you’re at least reasonable about it.”
Ichigo cupped your face in his hands. “How can I not be jealous when the girl of my dreams is hanging out with a guy that’s very clearly attracted to her?”
“Because you have faith in my and you know that I’d never reciprocate feelings Ichigo. Renji is my best friend, other than you of course, and he’ll never be anything more.”
Ichigo roughly placed a kiss to your lips. As he opened his eyes to see the man standing not far behind him he smirked against your lips. Renji’s eyes narrowed as he glared at the man he detested. As you felt Ichigo’s smile you questioned him, talking against his lips. “Why are you smiling?”
His thumb rubbed against your cheek. “No reason.” He knew by his tone exactly why he was smiling as his lips caressed yours once again.

My Name Is...
Summary: Rodan asks San if he could teach him the dragon’s native tongue.
-
“Hey, San?”
Rodan’s voice was thick with sleep, cracking in some places, and he shakes himself to further wake. It’s late, and he had only just stirred from sleep from within the magma pool of their volcano nest. He’s been sleeping all day, as he tended to do nowadays since needing to heal his broken wing. But dozing off all day doesn’t make him any less tired when he wakes up in the middle of the night. It was in complete defiance of his natural circadian rhythm to force himself into this nocturnal habit, but it was the only way he can talk to the heads one-on-one.
The left head especially was the easiest to start conversation with, as opposed to Ichi, who keeps the chit-chat to a minimum, or Ni, who doesn’t talk at all really.
Besides, he had a goal tonight and he doubted the others will help. If anything, San was his best chance.
Upon hearing his voice, the left head’s horns perks out a bit before he gives a glance towards him, red eyes flashing in the lava’s glow. A grunt of acknowledgment is made, prompting Rodan to continue in a now less-tired voice. He wants to make sure his request was clear and no-nonsense in tone, but not demanding.
“I want to learn your language.”
“What?” San asks, turning to look towards him with brows furrowed in confusion. That reaction was kinda weird, certainly not one Rodan was expecting. Had they never gotten asked about something like this before. He doubted it. Maybe there’s a bit of a language barrier going on here; San is prone to that, especially if Rodan speaks too fast. So he speaks slower.
“Can you teach me how to speak like you?” He waves a claw a small circle motion. “You know, like in your native tongue? Is that better?”
“I know what you say,” San points out with a small huff of irritation. “Just want to know if I heard that right. Why do you want to talk like us?”
“Because,” he drawls. “We’re mates now, we oughta be able to share our culture. Plus, y’know, it’d be great to actually understand what you guys are always yelling about instead of staying up late to ask you all the time. Save me some damn sleep.”
“........”
Rodan shifts his weight a bit restlessly as San stared at him with an intense unblinking gaze. He always does that, like he was scrutinizing every inch of him. Made him feel like he was being stared down on by a predator, but he refuses to make those feelings known. Instead, he waves his claw in a circular motion again. “Well?”
“.....” San finally tears his eyes away from him to look towards his brothers before back to him. His words were spoken with genuine curiosity. “Why would you wanna learn if you’re going to die anyway?”
Rodan doesn’t answer that, prompting San to smirk a bit as he continues. “You put work in learning our tongue, only for us to kill you. It’s stupid.”
“.........” He didn’t know why this hurt as much as it did. He knew deep down in his core that Ghidorah had full intentions to kill him by the end of all of this; to expect otherwise would be foolish. But his heart just really tried hard to believe there was a different fate in store for him, refusing to believe their bond to be anything but genuine. Especially since Ichi knew of his feelings and seemed to indulge in them himself. Hell, they chose to mate with him! So knowing that after all they’ve been through, his destiny hasn’t changed...
It only feels worse, seeing that San took such delight in it. There was that familiar glint in those ruby eyes; the same glint whenever San toyed with him. It was when he heard an added snicker from the left head that prompts him to respond in a soft voice.
“I mean, why did you guys bother to learn my tongue? If you’re all going to die one day...”
“Our kind can't die,” San said with haughty confidence in his sing-song voice. “So that doesn’t work.”
“Whatever,” Rodan continued, not sure whether to believe that or not. These things were resilient as hell, but not THAT resilient, surely. But then he remembered seeing them regrow a head and- You know what, best to just drop it altogether. Stay on focus! “You bothered to learn how to talk to us. What’s the point if you’re just going to kill us all anyway?”
San doesn’t respond, tilting his head slightly at the question. Rodan recognized his foothold and immediately took it.
“Do you learn the languages of the other planets that you’ve went to?”
“.... Sometimes,” San answered carefully. “But most times, we don’t stay too long on planets, so I know only few words.”
“And what was the point of learning those words?”
“...... I just thought they sounded funny.”
Blink. That was his only reaction to that for a moment before he continued on with his argument. “Well, my point still stands. Even if I’m going to die soon, I still want to learn to talk to you in a way you can really understand. No more confusion between us in the time we have together. I want to enjoy being with you more than I already do. I want to help when you guys are upset and that’ll be so much easier to do when I can understand what the hell you guys are on about...”
San doesn’t answer for a long time, enough that Rodan was about to speak up again just to keep the conversation from dying. But there was no need, as the left head found his tongue.
“You enjoy being with us?” His brows furrowed again, as if unable to grasp the concept.
“Yeah!” Rodan had to try to keep his voice down. “Of course I do. Why else would I choose you guys as my mate?”
“Your mate?”
“Yeah...” There was the beginnings of a sinking feeling in his chest and he didn’t know why. “You... you guys mated with me... That means a lot to my kind. Does...” He hesitates before daring to push on, voice softer as the sinking feeling in his chest gets worse. “Does that mean nothing to you?” He dreaded asking that, but it needed to be done. He needed to make sure they were both on the same page. But once more, San’s limited vocabulary hinders them.
“What does ‘mate’ mean?”
“And you see? That’s why I want to learn your tongue.” He steps closer to him. “Just like I teach you mine all the time. ‘Mate’ is what we did when Ni hurt me, remember? With my kind, that means we love each other, for the rest of our lives.”
“Love?”
Rodan nods again, continuing to step closer so that his beak brushes against San’s neck, the left head making no move to push him away. Little things like that give him hope and he allows his smile to grow, his golden eyes looking up at the dragon. “Say it with me, I love you.”
San doesn’t say anything for a moment, just watching him with those large intent eyes. When he does speak, he does so slowly to make sure he says it exactly as he heard it. “I love you.”
That’s all he’s ever wanted to hear from Ghidorah, and even if San didn’t mean it, it still brought his heart out of that sink hole in his chest. Maybe someday, he’ll hear those words again, spoken with genuine warmth and love. Too much to wish for? Maybe. But he can hope.
He keeps himself nuzzled against those scales, beak gently nibbling in a groom. San is still and says nothing, just watching him before glancing towards his brothers. The left head twitches their massive wings, the only sign of his inner debate with himself. After a moment, he mutters softly. “I’ll ask my brothers if it’s okay to teach you. Maybe fun.”
Well, at least it’s something and he lets out a breath. “Thank you.”
“What does that mean?”
Ghidorah really doesn't get a lot of nice things said to them, huh?
“When someone does something nice, you say ‘thank you’ to them to show you’re happy for what they’ve done. Or will do.”
“And you say thank to us? You are a funny slave. A funny silly slave,” San chuckles. After a moment, he makes a sound Rodan’s certain he’s heard from them before, although it must be rare as he can’t readily recall where or when he’s heard it. But it sounded beautiful, like a gentle musical trill.
“What does that mean?” he dared to ask, unsure if he was going to get an answer given how San wanted permission from his older siblings. But maybe the left head can give him just one word...?
And it seemed that’s exactly what San was doing as he gives him another amused look before answering. “That’s your name.”
His eyes brighten, having learned that his name sounded so nice in their tongue. Can he make those sounds himself? He didn’t know, but just hearing it from them would be enough for him. “Yeah, that sounds right.” San giggles at this and it emboldens Rodan to ask: “How do I say ‘Ghidorah’?”
Was that pushing his luck? Doesn’t seem like as San answered him without a fuss. It was a shorter sound, sharper, but still with that musical note. He runs it through his mind in a loop, not wanting to forget. His thoughts are only cut off when the left head continues.
“Now say thank to me.” San demands him and he pulls away to give him a look.
“First of all, it’s ‘thankS’ when used in that context. Second of all, that’s not how it works. You don’t demand it; you get it when you get it!” But despite giving this reprimand, his smile returns, wider than ever before his voice softens. “But thanks anyway.”
San smirks, before turning away to keep watching the horizon. Rodan leans against their body, settling beside them and draping his wing over their back to share his warmth with them. San and Ichi always seemed to enjoy when he did this. Yeah, Ni hated it, but getting bitten in the morning is always worth it. He just had to try to keep his wing folded away from the right side as best he can. As he rested his head upon their shoulder, nuzzling against San’s neck, he plays the sound San made to say 'Ghidorah’ in their native tongue. He wants to say it to them come morning, really show to Ichi that he was serious in wanting to learn.
Over and over, he whispers to himself in an attempt to articulate the foreign word, until he drifts off.
-
“Ghidorah!”
Ichi brings his head up from their morning bask at the unexpected call. It was spoken in their own tongue but with a very heavy, unknown accent to it. It was almost like the sound that woke them from dormancy in the ice, but less mechanical in nature. He turns to look towards the source and there was the bird, sitting in his lava pool with a proud look on his face. The eldest head narrows his eyes slightly, glancing at San who was grinning at the attempt. Ni was less amused, his face scrunched up in a scowl, disgusted to hear their beautiful language spoken by such a lowly creature.
Where on this mudball of a world did the bird learn to say that? Did he really need to ask? The youngest was always chatty with the bird during his night-watch and this was no doubt one of their little shenanigans. Very well, he can play along.
“Yes?” Ichi responds, also in their native tongue. At this, the bird hesitates, flight fingers twitching a bit as if uncertain. Ha, seems the inferior creature was still as clueless as ever. But that didn’t stop the bird from speaking again.
“Ghidorah,” He puffs out his chest plates. “My name is-” Okay, that was spoken in the earth tongue, and-
He spoke another word in their language, with that same heavy accent, making it practically unintelligible. Clearly not as practiced as the other word. This time, Ichi responded in the bird’s native tongue, just to make it clear that the bird needed to try that again. “Excuse me?”
The bird lets out a breath before trying again, the same exact words but slower this time. And with this extra care to pronounce the word correctly, Ghidorah understood and Ichi can’t stop a smirk from growing on his snout. San is giggling now as the middle head nods approvingly at the little fire pest.
“Indeed, that IS your name.” As Rodan gives himself a celebratory pat on the back, Ichi glances at his brothers with amusement, speaking in their native tongue once more. “Always nice when these lesser creatures name themselves ‘Slave’.”
San cracks up laughing.

GX Month day 7: “Bring the THUNDER”
Ichi! Juu! Hyaku! Sen! Chazz it up! Today the world does in fact revolve around Jun Manjoume/Chazz Princeton.
Late start today...
Headcanon: Jesse was one of the duelists Chazz had to beat when he entered North Academy.
Headcanon: They were roommates.
Headcanon: Chazz makes electronics go sparky-BOOM, change my mind. He legit fried his computer in season 3 with no explanation. Conclusion: magic! He has been conveniently ignoring this fact.
Chazz’s life has always been governed by rules. How to act, how to speak, how to eat, who to associate with, what activities to engage in - sometimes it even feels like his family wants to control how he thinks.
The pressure is stifling, to say the least.
The first time he fries a piece of electronics, it’s an old handheld video game that Slade bought for him on the sly and made Chazz promise to keep secret. He doesn’t remember what he got mad about - a game mechanic, a boss he couldn’t beat, maybe he was just venting his anger at a tutor - but he remembers the sparks that crackled off the casing and the device spewing smoke. He screamed, the smoke detector went off, and the commotion drew his parents. Both he and Slade were severely admonished, and the way Slade glared at him with utter contempt has prevented Chazz from asking him for anything to this very day.
A part of him knew even then that he was the black sheep.
It was only a matter of time before he cracked.
*
Losing to Jaden is humiliating. It should have been an easy win when his deck was stacked with the most powerful and rare cards Duel Academy could get its hands on. His one saving grace is that his brothers don’t know about it.
Losing to Bastion is salt in the wound, and the impending dorm demotion is the last straw. He runs away with his tail between his legs because he can already hear his brother’s scathing voices. His frustration fries his cell phone - not that he had service anyway - then the motor on the boat. So he’s stranded in the middle of nowhere, slowly running out of water, and starting to hallucinate.
And it’s all Jaden fucking Yuki’s fault!
Oh. There goes his last water bottle.
Sheer dumb luck has him crashing against the shore of North Academy. He’d be more pissed about the loss of his deck if those ‘powerful cards’ hadn’t failed him one too many times before. The cards he holds now are trash in comparison, his pride is in tatters, but he’s still Chazz Manjoume and he won’t let such a trivial thing as shitty cards hold him back.
He swears to god, if this snot eyed yellow booger doesn’t shut up--
“That’s not very nice.” His current opponent frowns, wielding a deck Chazz had been confused by the familiarity of until realizing it was the one of a kind deck that Manjoume Group practically begged Pegasus to sell. So this was the kid he gave it to? Anderson something? “You should respect the cards in your deck more.”
“Respect?” Chazz scoffs. “They’re just cards.”
Anderson laughs, actually laughs at him and the sound pisses him off more than he can understand why. “Aw c’mon. You and I both know that ain’t true.” He throws a flashy grin at Chazz- no, not at Chazz, at the ball of snot floating over Chazz’s shoulder.
“He can see me!” the thing squeaks.
“Shut up!” Chazz snaps.
It’s a close game, but Chazz still wins. In fact, despite not being the top of North Academy’s ranks, Anderson is the only opponent he actually struggled against. The way he smiles and jokes around and talks to his cards strikes Chazz as oddly familiar. When he realizes why, it pisses him the fuck off.
I thought I left Jaden back at Duel Academy!
Jesse Anderson is a bonafide carbon copy of Jaden Yuki and Chazz gets stuck as the bastard’s roommate.
WHY, universe?! What have I done to deserve this HELL?!
...Don’t answer that.
*
Chazz likes to think he has above average perception of his surroundings. But any perception he may or may not have takes a forced vacation when he’s hyper focused on a boss battle, leaving him ill prepared to deal with any changes around him.
“Whatcha playin’?”
Chazz shrieks at the voice by his ear. A familiar static surges through his fingers. “NONONONONO!” He drops the GameBoy too late as the screen glitches out and goes black, smoke now rising from the ruined device. He almost beat the game this time!
“Did you just...shoot lightning out of your fingers?” Chazz can’t tell if Anderson is more shocked or awed by the prospect.
“No!” Yes? Maybe? Chazz has never really taken the time to contemplate why almost every electronic he touches eventually explodes; he’s usually too busy freaking out and trying to hide the evidence from his family. Huh. Guess he doesn’t really need to worry about that anymore.
“That’s awesome! You have, like, magic powers!”
“Excuse me??” The hell is Anderson on about now? Magic?? As if!
“I mean, I can talk to Duel Monsters, but that’s so cool.” Anderson rubs the ears of the carbuncle on his shoulder. He can do a hell of a lot more than ‘talk’; Chazz can’t even touch Ojama Yellow! “I wish I could do something like that.”
“No, you don’t!” Chazz snaps before realizing he’s defaulted back to Japanese. Huffing, he decides he doesn’t want to explain what a nightmare this ‘power’ has been for him. Eventually, Anderson gives up on asking.
*
“Hey, Thunder!”
The voice sets his teeth on edge and Chazz turns his best fuck off scowl on Anderson. It’s bad enough they share a room, he doesn’t want Jaden’s soul twin following him around during class hours. “Why does everyone keep calling me that?”
Anderson tilts his head. “You said your name was ‘Manjoume Sanda’, like ‘thunder’, right?”
No, that is absolutely not what Chazz meant at all; he was correcting the fuckers for not using the proper honorific and accidentally screamed it in Japanese. Of course the damn foreigners heard thunder instead of -san da.
“Besides I think it fits.” That damn grin is back.
Chazz snubs his nose in the air instead punching the brat. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Suuure.” Patting Chazz’s shoulder - what the fuck? don’t touch me! - Anderson thankfully jogs off as he spots his actual friend across the hall.
He even has a tiny, glasses wearing sidekick. What the actual fuck?
Manjoume Thunder has a nice ring to it.
