The Loki Series is just one big torture porn show, all they ever do is hurt Loki, demonize him for no reason, make up stuff to demonize him some more, and a lot of other things. I hate this show so much. All of the characters (Mostly Sylvie and Mobius) treat him abusively like verbally abusing and physically abusing him constantly. They try to make up things about new york that aren't true just to slander him and justify their torture porn, the real truth that was CONFIRMED is thanos tortured and used the mind stone on Loki to do those things in new york, look it up, also they make up things like say he killed his mother, when he didn't, Kurse did that, and that's in Thor 2, the writers keep making things up to demonize him for no reason. Sylvie and Mobius both constantly accuse Loki of things he didn't do. The Sif scene was just one big excuse to torture him as well. I'm sorry I'm just venting, it hurts my heart every day what they do to Loki, and it just isn't fair!!! I'm not watching season 2 but I'm observing it from others comments and I'm glad I'm not watching it because they keep wanting to hurt him, just like they did in season 1. I know I sound crazy, because to most people they wouldn't be this upset of the treatment of a fictional character, but I am, and it affects my mental health so much...

imagine a crossover where aemond feeds that giant purple grape (thanos) to vhagar and smacks oding for being a shit dad (to both thor and loki) while loki makes sure to f*ck viserys up for being a horrible father and turn him into a rat. then they go have a warm meal together and maybe get some therapy.

I think I’ve cracked the code of what makes a Marvel Cinematic villain interesting or annoying.
Very oversimplified there are two extreme directions you can take a villain. Either they’re so sympathetic that they become a tragic hero of their own story, or they’re just unapologetically evil and hamming it up.
The Marvel Cinematic universe’s best villains have been one of either extremes. Prime examples are Erik Killmonger (hero in his own story) and Hela (evilly hamming it up all over the stage). These villains are interesting because they either compel us to reconsider the morality of the story or simply entertain us.
One may be more highbrow than the other, but both are generally memorable and interesting, and will work very well in elevating the right type of story. (Killmonger’s role greatly deepened the character of T’Challa, who otherwise would have come off as a bit too perfect in his own movie. Giving him doubts and new matters to consider. Hela played a similar role of lifting up the sins of the father, but she also showed how bad things get when someone of her power doesn’t give a shit, contrasting both Thor’s royal responsibilities and Bruce’s concern with Hulk.)
Then there are the forgettable villains that fall somewhere between the extremes, they’re neither really made to be sympathetic nor allowed to go overboard. They’re there to antagonize the protagonist, and as far as that is concerned, they can do a pretty decent job.
But the real problem, the villains that are memorable for all the wrong reasons, is trying to put both extremes into one character.
Thanos is the absolute prime example of this.
He is simultaneously “Ahahaha! Look at my evilness and despair!” while also made out to be the “hero” of his own story.
Several beats in Avengers Infinity War make it clear that we are supposed to sympathize with him. That we are supposed to think that he’s “only doing what he thinks is best” and that we only disagree because of a different moral view on the sanctity of life.
First and foremost; no.
His whole deal about population control falls apart even in his own argumentation. But that’s beside the point.
Because they still intersperse it with hammy villainy.
The most glaring dissonance coming when he “sacrifices” Gamora. Because in just a few scenes earlier, he had been pushing Peter Quill to kill her. While roughly holding her head in his hand.
It doesn’t matter if the reality stone kept her safe. He was still demonstrating a huge disregard for her safety and well-being, only keeping her alive for the info she had.
The “sacrifice” felt empty because we had no real reason to think he really loved her, in a twisted way or not.
Because they wanted him to be as villainy as possible, as he destroyed their hopes of stopping him.
So you get a character for which there is no consistent thread of emotional investment for the audience.
Are we supposed to hate him? Understand him? Want to bonk sense in him? Should we bask in his success or in his potential downfall? Are we supposed to think he’s right “from a certain point of view”? Or that he’s wrong not just morally, but like logistically.
(Not to get into it since it’s tangential to my point, but: if you can divide a populace into rich and poor people, is it really the whole population’s fault that resources are dwindling? Maybe try redistributing the wealth first, you fucking Malthusian genocidal asshole! Also why half? What arbitrary mathematics lead to 50% being the perfect “balance” of population?)
In short:
Sympathetic villains = good
Evil villains = good
Neither = meh
Both = stop, no! Please don’t.

I know people are going to jump me for saying this but Thanos was a badly written villain. His motivation also was stupid and didn’t make any sense whatsoever.

I just watched TV Sins of Loki S1 and my GOD it’s a hideous creation! What an absolute INSULT! The visuals (except for the citadel) were ABYSMAL and boring. The outfits were boring, acting subpar (Tom was alright in the first episode but that’s it) and just utter NONSENSE! I felt empty while watching it like my soul was being ripped from my body. It truly surprises me that so many people like it. I know many adore Tom and Owen (as do I) and the character of Loki (which I do) but this show is TOXIC POISON! YUCK!!! The writers and directors need to LEAVE! They made Loki and Tom look like an absolute humiliating JOKE! Of all the things they could have done in the show, they had him be an office worker who follows people around like an IDIOT! What a piss poor ‘Loki’ project! I feel bad for Tom as he was told to ‘tone down his performance so that Sylvie could shine’ and 95% of his ideas were ignored. I could tell by watching it that he was half-assing and wasn’t quite right at all during BOTH seasons of the show despite others saying that he was ‘better than ever.’ BS! I’m a MEGA Tom and Loki fan and I could tell that he WASN’T feeling it despite him being his peachy, fun self behind the scenes (which was great because I actually thought that he’d lost his sanity during the show.) I do believe his passion for Loki but I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s over it by now. Especially after that shit project they gave him that wasn’t even MEANT FOR HIS CHARACTER!! ☹️😩😫😤
It’s scary that this show (a terrible, corrupt Disney product) almost made me hate the character of Loki who I’ve adored for a DECADE and even be pissed off at Tom (I heard that he got hacked, doxxed and address leaked due this shit) I can’t believe it managed to skew my, other people’s (and even my Mother’s for a time) perception of this once amazing character and lovely human being. It’s only something that corrupt, modern Disney could achieve..seriously! SCREW THEM!

SHORT DP X MCU WRITING PROMPT #2
(Possible side story/chapter to the MCU portion of the reaper of heroes au? How about a little bit of fluff for once?)
(#) = Notes at the end of post
After the events of this and this, I'd like to think Danny does Death a favor in apology for having to step in on her dimension's matters, regardless of her giving him full permission to handle things.
So what if he found an easier way for Death and Wade Wilson, AKA Deadpool, to meet with each other that doesn't involve Wade having to take a painful, semi-permanent nap? Like, he uses his will over the Infinite Realms to make a small comfy pocket of reality, like full-on apartment looking space, that both of them can easily access whenever they want. He does this partially as a favor to Death and partially because he's seen/kept Wade's soul in the Infinite Realms so many times between deaths (to give the poor man's spirit a little more time to just rest damn it) he feels like Wade deserves a private spot of happiness in his (unending) life.(1)
Also, official face to face meeting between Danny and Wade so he can tell the guy the good news, not just face to soul meeting? That'd be interesting. I just think it would be sweet.
Okay, I think I'm gonna go make that master post now. This is getting ridiculous. 😅
Notes:
(1) Yes, he's seen Wade's soul multiple times before so Wade is easily recognizable at this point. Danny just never realized that his soul was from another dimension, was immortal, and that it was the soul of one of his Death sibling's lover. It was a big surprise when he learned/figured it out tho. Also, I think Wade would be under Danny's jurisdiction, regardless of alive/dead status. Danny is also the Lord of the undying for a reason.
_
@jotaroslooseeyebrowhair
Whatcha think of this? Doesn't have as many badass vibes, but I think it would be interesting to see. Danny is like, the ultimate wingman here.

Look, I'm not huge on Captain Carter or the actress herself really, but like...she ain't wrong. Doctor Strange Multiverse Of Madness just served to disrespect every character MCU could get away with disrespecting, knowing MCU fans would defend it no matter what.

Of all people, how does someone bend logic to blame Steve for the snap?
Some people just love blaming Steve for everything. I posted a rant about this a while ago but in short.... 👇
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Besides the fact that once Stephen gives up the Time Stone, there's nothing the heroes can do that will stop Thanos... the most surprising part of that bullshit quote is the "Cap chose one life over the entire universe". Uh... no, he didn't? Thanos did. Thanos is the one who chose to do it, he chose to Snap, he chose every goddamn thing he did in that movie, nobody was forcing him to do anything.
Also, the dehumanization of Vision is slightly bothersome to me. He's not a robot, he's a being, he's a teammate, he's one of the heroes. If her mindset is: "we must sacrifice one of our own for the greater good", then what's the difference between the heroes and the villains?
They didn't know how much time they had, there was a chance they could save a teammate, of course they were going to try. And Steve is not the only one who agreed with that, they all did. How convenient that she only speaks of Steve though....
She reminds me of the "Thanos did nothing wrong" crowd that claims he was successful because he was ruthless and didn't care about anyone, unlike the heroes who 'failed' by giving up stones in order to save loved ones. But I think they have it backwards: That fact doesn't reflect badly on the heroes, it reflects badly on Thanos.

If Wanda’s actions in MoM can be excused by saying “It wasn’t her, it was the demon The Scarlet Witch.” then that’s what I’m gonna start saying every time someone brags about how powerful she was in MoM 🤷‍♀️
