"An Open Secret, which promises to shine a light on child abuse in the film industry, was posted online two years after it was apparently rejected by film and TV distributors.

Billed as "the film Hollywood doesn't want you to see", the documentary focuses on the alleged abuse of young boys and teenagers who want to work in the film industry.

Director Amy Berg, who won an Oscar for her film Deliver Us From Evil about sex abuse in the Catholic church, obtained information with her team about an alleged group of child abusers in Hollywood, including managers, agents, publicists and directors."

Actor in the Music Video for “Suffocation” Recounts the Abuse He and Others Witnessed on Set

On Twitter, Peter Davis, the actor who played the doctor in the “Suffocation” music video, shared his experience while working on set. He points out that he and others on the crew were frightened by Ethan‘s “obsessive control over Alice”.

"An Open Secret" is a documentary about pedophilia rings in Hollywood. It's done by a oscar-winning New York times investigative reporter. But somehow could not find distribution anywhere. It's free on Vimeo. I feel like the story just is not getting told. And that's disturbing.

An Open Secret, a documentary by Amy Berg about the sexual abuse of children in Hollywood, was released in 2015, two years before #MeToo went viral and the cover of a lot of these men was blown off. As such, it’s disappointing but not too surprising that absolutely nobody was willing to distribute it at that time. Hopefully at some point it’ll get a deal with Netflix or something, but in the meantime you can watch it for free on Vimeo above.
