Fav modern day royals?
Hi! As we all know vintage royals are my fav…..but I have a few modern day favs! (and btw I’m gonna do royals that are still alive today instead of people who just died or have died recently)
The Annelets (Savannah Phillips, Isla Phillips, Mia Tindall, Lena Tindall)
2. Princess Charlotte of Wales
3. Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones
4. Princess Estelle of Sweden (Duchess of Östergotlands)
Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margaret are some of my favs but they are not here anymore so idk if they count 🥲
I have many more favs so feel free to ask me this again if you want! Thank you!

The other recent arrival is this finely detailed silver hilted French smallsword. The blade is marked:
Guyon L'aine au Roy De La Chine
Sur Le Pont St Michel a Paris
Which translates to:
Guyon (The Elder) to The King of China
St Michel Bridge Paris.
Guyon was a sword cutler from about 1750 to 1767. And the St Michel Bridge was a retail address in Paris. Given the way shops were identified at the time, and the lack of a king in China, it is most likely that “The King of China” was a shop name that Guyon worked from to sell his swords.
There are three stamps on one of the annelets that are likely to be hallmarks, but I am still trying to identify them so can’t confirm if the hilt is silver or not, but given the wear on the decorations I believe it to be likely.
(If anyone can identify them, please let me know)
The caduceus of Hermes (Roman - Mercury) features prominently in the decorations and this association with commerce could indicate that the sword belonged to a wealthy merchant (since the hilts were made to order from patterns). Unfortunately, we’ll never know, but it is fun to speculate.
Interestingly, even though it is 10 grams lighter than the smallsword with the boatshell guard. It’s more forward point of balance makes it feel slightly heavier in the hand.
Overall Length: 912 mm
Blade Length: 760 mm
Grip Length: 116 mm
Inside Grip Length: 82 mm
Weight: 420 grams
Point of Balance: 105 mm

Thought you'd like this about Princess Anne being a Grandma to Savannah, Isla & all her little Annelets :
From the Anne at 70 documentary 🥰 It’s so cute that they all live at Gatcombe park, they’re so close and they can see each other a lot 💚 Anne seems like such a sweet, doting grandmother and they must have fun with all her animals too. I hope we can see all of them at the Easter Church service tomorrow 🍀 thanks for sharing!

This wonderful letter arrived yesterday, but I only discovered it this morning before leaving home for my stall. I am over the moon.

Love love love Charlotte hanging out with the "Annelets." Peter and Zara's relationship with William has always seemed to humanize him in a way and I hope that and I hope those girl's can be a normal presence in Charlotte's life too.
William's always been close to Zara and Peter, probably as they’re the cousins who are of a more similar age and Zara and William announced their engagements about 5 weeks apart, they got married 3 months apart, they had their first child 6 months apart, Louis and Lena were born less than 2 months apart, so they've kind of followed the same life path and have kids the same age. And it is very lovely to see that continuing and see them spending time with each other when they so obviously enjoy being in each other's company
