Hii blog squad im back ...... just spent 10+ consecutive hours doing nothing but painting one of my walls also i just realized how many walls i have in my room like thats 18 flat planes altogether (not including floor) which is kind of crazy. Anyways my wrist hurts but surprisingly my knees hurt worse which i wasnt expecting considering the wall i was painting was the ???ceiling above my bed and so i was just like kneeling on my mattress the entire time. Thats all i have for Catch Up Post since aside from eating sleeping and watching expansive amounts of dugout building/chateau renovation youtube videos literally all i have been doing is painting

#i say ???ceiling because its at like a 135 deg angle so its kind of above me kind of not #also didnt do yoga today but the arm and core workout i got from dealing w that awkward angle def counts as excersise #i'll post pics of the mural thing when i finish but i probably wont finish until sunday so expect pics on wednesday ig #hollyws

dream updates: i was doing wire work (the mechanics of momentum were described in detail) with otters after taking the wrong train and being seperated from a school trip (im 21 years old btw) and ending up in the surprisingly roomy sewers of london. then i had to rock climb down a wall made of cork using pins stuck into it as hand holds. so i think this means i need to buy more enamel pins

also im like 90% sure ive had this dream before or at least the initial section because the train was familiar.

#me_irl #i have so many wierd dreams about the tube and ive used it like. a few dozen times in my life #this isnt even getting into the wrong train being a ploy to kidnap (?) my group but it didnt work because bar 3 ppl including me everyone #else missed the train #(the train was one of those ones thats fixed on an angle for steep hills amd the platform had an insanely high ceiling. and there was water #under the tracks ?)#i remember a dream every 2 years and its always this level of wierd shit #i feel like the otters understood me but couldn't or wouldn't speak to me. they swung away so quickly :(

#+ her bald husband just chilling beside her while she tries so fucking hard to scare me off #she is not fond of my entire shift. all because the crew leader was there one time when someone else caught her husband’s toes with a food #dish. so she now absolutely fucking hates everyone she associates with my manager lmao #her husband is bald bc she won’t stop plucking him. she’s been getting a lot better about it though #also btw their cage is wayy bigger than it looks here it just looks small bc i took this with 0.5 angle #and they get a huge tray of fresh cut vegetables and fruit for most of their food it’s just out of frame #they r very happy and well cared for. she just has a chronic plucking issue and the soul of a true hater #their cage is like the size of my bedroom lmao. and they have a whole other outdoor flight that’s like the same size as their indoor cage #there’s no room to fly bc they both have heart issues and she’s missing a part of her right wing so neither of them can fly #they get around fine by climbing on the perches and ceiling though 👍 sometimes i come around to check on them and her husband is just #hanging from the ceiling doing nothing. he’s weird i love him #rambles #birds

What do you mean when you said you can’t see some things through a screen?

i think i said Marina said that in an interview- i’m sure she can see all sorts of things that i have no idea of, but one major thing that you can’t see on a screen is ice coverage-

you do get clues for it, but the way skating is filmed for broadcast you can’t see objectively what distance a team is covering for a couple reasons-

when you take something 3 dimensional and make it 2 dimensional you lose depth perception - if the camera stays still, you can see more clearly how far a team is moving left to right than how far they’re going near to far (or back to front, if that makes sense)

also the camera is usually moving and following the skaters, so then you have no fixed point of reference for how far they’re traveling

if they put a camera on the ceiling above center ice and gave you a view of the entire sheet of ice, kinda like this:

if you had a view of the ice like this on screen, you’d get a decent idea how much ice a team is covering, but then you’d lose a bunch of other information 😅

#also for the angle not to be distorted the camera would probably have to be higher than the ceiling 🙃

yay! the fic is actually rooster/hangman + phoenix/bob! and I'll give you the run down below the cut because uhhhh there's a lot. it's an idea that amy @floydshaw and I came up with when we watched coyote ugly together recently and woof it's gotten out of hand

it initially came about because amy was like omg what if coyote got his callsign because he used to BE a coyote. and then for me it turned into a complete AU thing where none of the characters (the whole squad feature in the fic) know each other through Top Gun/missions but Jake, Javy, Nat and Bob are all still in the navy (and are still Top Gun pilots) but get into trouble and put on probation where they're grounded for x amount of time or until they can make x amount of money. so to make money they work at a Navy bar (which is still called the Hard Deck because hello, perfect euphemism) and make money by dancing on the bar for everyone coyote ugly style. Rooster, Fanboy, Payback, Fritz etc arrive on shore leave and decide to go to this bar that everyone is talking about and Rooster sees Jake and is like. who the fuck is THAT.

and to skip over a whole lot of sex and plot, they fall in love!

but the pretty woman aspect of it is that Rooster wants to help Jake (and the others, I guess) get back in the air. somehow.

#it's sort of a crack fic for narrative reasons #but oh my GOD I can't wait to write it #it'll probably be a few chapters idk #and amy is going to write a separate fic also inspired by coyote ugly! so more bang for your buck :3 #Jake and Javy with their legs between each others wearing nothing but skin tight jeans and cowboy boots #hands braced on the low ceiling and just grinding to Unholy #money being thrown at them from all angles....#YEAH Rooster has a religious experience about it #Sereshaw #Hangster #Rooster x Hangman #Bob is the sweet faced new guy #who dances all shyly but secretly likes the attention #Jake and Javy teach him how to dance dirty because it gets the most tips #I really could keep going rip
