ok the id for this is already really long, but the context for this is even longer so bear with me hlskdjflksdjf anyways I discovered this morning that apparently there was a WHOLE THING back in 2013 where the screenwriter of PacRim ( @travisbeacham lol ) basically introduced a wife for Hermann out of nowhere in the dubiously canon novel, and then got really frustrated with people online for “sidelining her” even though he’s the one who. didn’t write her into the movie whatsoever lol, and I lost my Mind over this and talked with @darkbitchithic extensively abt this and the two of us decided that Vanessa is actually Hermann’s beard, that they’re both gay and got married for family/other reasons, and are deeply close friends.

She’s a full time model, part time jaeger repair woman who loves her gf and her scrunkly favorite science lad. There’s a lot more that I’m holding back, but for now, pls enjoy cool Jewish butch lesbian model Vanessa Gottlieb and her bestie

House of Wolves is a book that's supposed to be out in time for convention season this year, assuming that I can get it finished by then (time and energy are in short supply at the moment, alas)

A while back, I saw a post pointing out how odd it is that vampires are typically cast as suave and wealthy, while werewolves are cast as wandering loners; considering that wolves hunt in very large established territories, have such strong family bonds, and have (according to the debunked alpha/omega myth) rigid hierarchies, it makes more sense for werewolves to be Old Money Nobility. (Also, you know, pedigree.)

So anyway, I wrote that.

My thoughts on Treason but just the funny bits. I'll do a more serious review but here's some crack for now (CONTAINS SPOILERS BEWARE):

Pik and Waffle, lovable evil jocks with the silliest little names. No, I will not elaborate.

Savit is the embodiment of the 'he's out of line but he's right' meme. He was literally right. No actually he was wrong, he gave Stardust a few years when in reality it only lasted a day (Fs in the chat but also lmao, get rekt).

I'm still not supposed to root for the Empire like this but here we are.

Someone give Ronan a 'Krennic's top simp' shirt that he can wear with his goofy little cape. Which I'm happy to say the book read to filth, as it should.

The fact that Eli is still so genuine and likeable that even barbed-stick-up-my-ass Ronan felt bad for leaving him down at the space port... only for Eli to then get back to his shuttle with literal thoughts of slaughter on his mind. Like damn it takes some skill to make Eli this mad.

In recent news, Thrawn is still an absolute riot.

My heart goes out to Faro, every time she thinks she's catching up to Thrawn he just comes up with an even more insane plan and she ages ten years on the spot. Like 'we're going to fight Savit now but I'm not even gonna be here, also I left you some instructions on your Ipad :)' '???? Sir????'

My sympathies to the poor stormtroopers who had to watch Thrawn and literally thought he was joking when he said he was going to the bridge. They literally went 'yeah sure you will buddy- wait where did he go?!?'

Cue Savit having an aneurism when he finds him there. (You cannot tell me this man isn't having the time of his life in that moment. Huge 'little shit' energy right there. And I respect that.)

Imagine the Firedrake crew just minding their own business and Grand Fucking Admiral Thrawn walks by without any escort whatsoever like 'Hello :)' '???? Can I help you, sir????' 'No, I know my way around :)) Thank you :)'

Also, can we talk about how hilariously petty the Chiss are?? ...I am so on board with that.

Knowing how bad Thrawn is at these political games, it's no wonder he's cool chilling with the Empire for now. I mean, the Empire is bad but the Chiss sound even worse. My man just wants to solve space mysteries, let him be.

Savit having another aneurysm while waiting for Ronan to catch up to him and Thrawn in the beginning of the book. Meanwhile Ronan living his best life walking down the runway with his stupid little cape

Chiss are genetically predisposed to being little shits, I'm not joking that's just facts.

Y’all please help me! My mother is a fucking medical professional, she’s been a nurse for almost 20 years, and she’s convinced that autism in black boys is caused by vaccines. She’s avidly against the Covid vaccine, and she’s still claiming she’s not antivax, because she still got other vaccines (even tho she waited 4 or 5 rounds of the vaccine to make sure it was safe first). I feel like I’m gonna have a fucking aneurism explaining to her that vaccines aren’t giving black people autism, black people just have a harder time being diagnosed in general. I don’t know what to do, my whole family believes this, I’m the only one who’s just arguing against it, and all they keep saying is not to fall for the governments bullshit. They’re just bringing up how many of their family meme bees who were healthy are suddenly developing chronic illnesses after getting the vaccine. I feel like I’m going fucking crazy!

I dunno if this has been said already but Merrill's house in the Alienage is massive. Goddamn huge. I get that Varric, the king he is, may have pulled strings for her but f u c k dude. Love how Hawke is over here in Gamlen's dinky little Shack-core hovel while Merrill has a whole studio apt with enough room to hold a party for all the demons she's collected.
