How did the knight and the princess meet?? Maybe she's the mischievous type and sneaked out that one time but he saved her from trouble OR maybe the queen was looking to hire a bodyguard and she personally chose price! The princess managed to make all her previous bodyguards quit and the queen was just fed with it😂 Sorry my mind is just full of ideas 🤣
No sorries!! I love it
Price is captain of the royal knights and has been for years because he rose the ranks to it since he was basically a child. So you two sorta knew each other since then.
You have a tendency, even in the past, to sneak out and go places where you shouldn’t as a princess so you had a few bodyguards in the past but none of them ever caught you.
Eventually around the ages of like 20-24 he was assigned as your bodyguard to stop you from sneaking out and suddenly you couldn’t go anywhere alone.
Price was too good and ever since he’s stuck by your side because of the queen.
You’ve known each other for a long long time now and you’ve mostly given up on trying to sneak away (sometimes you try still) because he’s gotten really good at catching you, to the point that he knows what you’re planning on doing before you do.

Accurate Reenactments Based On Facts
Most cultures across the Galaxy do their utmost to preserve and remember their history, both the great achievements, and the terrible mistakes. Humans go a few dozen steps further.
They introduced us to a concept called "Historical reenactments" - accurate recreations of the situations and conditions of ancient events, usually battles, played out with prop equipment by real people. They also said they sometimes do these just for fun and don't care about being 100% accurate.
This particular reenactment was of a battle called Thermopylae. Using numerous historical records, they recreated the location, printed slightly lighter versions of the armor (well, helmets only for some) they wore, and dull weapons with embedded stun shockers that would create a kinetic "bump" upon contact to prevent actual injury by pushing the person back instead.
Once everyone was geared up the atmosphere changed, both visually as the holographic projectors did their thing, and from the Humans themselves - their demeanor became that of... wilderness. Ferocity. Deadly focus. It was quite fear inducing even from afar.
Then the defenders in red, the "Spartans", created a sort of spiky dome with their shields and spears. Then the attackers in blue, the "Persians" unleashed a terrifying volley of arrows, the sky hologram went darker, then a bright beam of light shone upon the defenders as they swept off arrows stuck to their shields in dramatic fashion before proceeding to charge towards their assaulting foes.
We noticed the "Spartans" were all much larger than the "Persians", and actually were equipped with subtle and very modern exoskeletons. Perplexed by this we asked if these Spartans had a very particular technological advantage for their time:
"Well, not as far as we can tell, but based on the materials we have, Spartans were, like, really buff and super strong compared to the average person of the time. Plus, according to the feats of strength they supposedly displayed, we suspect they became an extinct branch of Humanity at some point, so the exoskeletons are there to mimic what we think they were like. Anyway, look, this is the coolest part."
As they spoke, the artificial gravity was lowered slightly and there was a spike in the power output from the exoskeleton equipped Spartans. Now they were flinging the approaching Persians dozens of feet into the air, a single bare-chested man kicked three of them at once backwards at a whole group, knocking the wind out of them.
This sort of extreme violence continued for several minutes.
Suddenly, an incredibly large Persian man on a throne was carried to what was effectively the center stage. Him and a heavily bearded Spartan exchanged a dramatic dialogue, the Spartan threw his spear at the Persian, who dodged it with a single turn of his head, then proceeded to summon a massive horde of small Persians who quickly began to overrun the Spartans.
There were bodies and shields and spears and pieces of armor flying everywhere, but gradually all the red became engulfed by the blue, and only one remaining Spartan managed to wriggle his way out of the carnage and make a run for it back to their city in the distance.
Seemingly satisfied after plucking out the bearded Spartan from the pile, the giant Persian roared in triumph and this is when the reenactment ended and everyone gathered for a feast.
So this is how ancient Human Battles went, huh.
"Well, not all of them. Usually it's between more equal forces in large open fields, or prolonged sieges, which can be a bit boring to recreate.
You should come back next month, we'll be doing an old naval battle between the British Empire and Independent Pirates Lords. It ends with a really sweet whirlpool showdown. Man, what are the odds of that happening, eh?"

It’s finally mermay so you know what that means-
Beakheron pirate au let’s goooooo
Black Heron is the princess of a corrupt monarchy in a seaside kingdom, she hasn’t inherited the crown yet but she’s already cruel and ruthless and would rule with an even more brutal government when she does.
Beakley is a pirate captain who goes around doing piracy while also trying to take down the terrible monarchy- and unbeknownst to anyone but her closest crewmates she is also a siren. She has a few run-ins with the princess and every time they’ve tried to kill each other.
One night Heron ends up nearly drowning in the ocean (not. sure why tho.) only to be saved by a certain siren that happened to be in the area. Beakley doesn’t recognize her until after she’s already ensured she’ll live- much to her chagrin. Herons mostly out of it when she’s rescued and in a very Little Mermaid fashion doesn’t recognize her rescuer, not putting it together at all that it’s her worst enemy.
Beakley later kidnaps Heron for a ransom, and it’s during that prolonged meeting that something of a romance starts 💕👀

Do Clerics have like. Doctor-patient confidentiality in general?
[Shrek meme: "They don't even have HIPAA"]
Nope. ZERO protections babey, the Cleric is a tiny Pope without a funny hat. They can do whatever they want unless the OTHER unaccountable religious cult leader decides to do something about it.
Cats like Featherwhisker, Spottedleaf, Runningnose, and Jayfeather are hit with realizations about this. For a few simple restrictions... you have nearly unquestionable power. You answer directly to StarClan. The amount of influence you have over a Clan is actually kind of insane.
The "Leader's Rights" and "Cleric's Vow" commandments were attempts to reign in the power of Clerics, with a lot of collateral damage. The Cleric is only overruled by the direct command of a leader, which means that the Cleric can ALWAYS act first unless the Leader pre-empts them.
Pearstar was a Cleric who violently overthrew Morningstar, before the invention of the Leader's Rights. The Leader's Rights were created in response to Larkstripe's Cleric Strike.

I don't know how I'd ever convey this in art but. Thinking very deeply about how in boy king au, a very crucial part of characterization is that Seb is a wolf in sheep(or lamb more specifically)'s clothing and Fernando is a sheep in wolf's clothing.
Seb is very unassuming, very delicate, seemingly very vulnerable and malleable. But, deep down, he can be very ruthless. It's in the the way he hesitantly declares war, with a spark in his eye and a suppressed smirk. In the way he challenges someone to a card game or a horse race, proclaiming that he's not great, but winning every round and prancing around the room and mentioning it ad infinitum. The way he's able to instantly turn the tide in a debate in one fell swoop. By showing all his cards constantly and letting himself be vulnerable, he's making himself invulnerable. No one would ever consider him to be able to make big moves, so he wins every single time, because no one even thinks to expect it from him.
Fernando on the other hand, is constantly committed to having a looming presence and harsh reputation, but deep down, he's soft. He knows what happens to people when they're vulnerable, and he's not going to let himself be taken advantage of. The way he keeps a brave face when being informed of the marriage proposal, but goes back to his room and cries. The way he proclaims that he was always going to be the rightful ruler of Spain, but confides to Flavio that he never thought there was any real chance of it ever happening. The way he takes himself so seriously in public, but inside feels so giddy whenever he can make someone laugh. Everything to him always feels unstable and ready to crumble at any moment, and he's not willing to contribute to that by letting himself relax.
I think thats why it's very difficult for them to get along at first, because they have completely different approaches to how they carry themselves and make their way through life. Seb is confused at Fernando because he feels that he's very bland and overly serious at first, but truthfully he's not really seeing the actual Fernando. And Fernando finds Seb to be naive and easily taken advantage of, but that's because he's never seen Seb at his most cruel. Seb really loves when he eventually gets to see Fernando being vulnerable, and Fernando really admires and respects Seb when he sees him being serious. I think it just takes a while for them to show the other their full and complete selves, even the parts they can sometimes be ashamed of. There's this very compelling dichotomy in Seb laying out all his cards, but still being very difficult to read, and Fernando keeping his cards to his chest, but his intentions often being easily seen through.

Omg are people complaining that the exchange didn't include enough old white racist guys or something?!! Maybe not all spaces are FOR them! Thank you for running the exchange and I'm looking forward to next month!
No, no, we're all good, no one complained, I just personally think that in the future I want to clarify that the events are for creative works involving LMM's OCs in the hit musical Hamilton, and not the actual historical figures - especially considering the idea involving rare pairs which deer brought up; I suppose the pool for those would be much larger and potentially less fun for musical fans if these events were planned to include the AmRv figures!

what was your inspiration to create your game?
how was the creation process?
all the best, and good luck with the game! :D
OOO I CAN DEFINITELY ANSWER THIS!!
My inspiration for Weeping Rosemary was? a bit varied throughout it's creation, since I had first conceptualized it in 2018. I don't recall what led me to it, but I remember first creating Ophelia and drawing her around this time.
Weeping Rosemary was originally a webcomic series, since it was what I knew best and what was easier for me around this time, even though I always imagined it as a game in my heart. However, uni came along and made me too busy to continue it - which, to be honest, might have been a blessing in disguise LMAO
The story of Weeping Rosemary was... not well written at all. Coming out of the hands of a teen who's main consumption of media was edgy horror manga, or really outdated harem anime; the writing of it was so juvenile and cringe ( and not in a 'but free' way! )
As I got older, and my interests expanded, as well as my own growth within myself - it affected a lot of how Weeping Rosemary has changed and developed.
Now, for what inspired - a lot of it is the gothic! And not gothic as in like, the fashion & makeup, etc. ( though I still like these elements a lot ); but the books of gothic novellas! The books that mainly inspired me being:
Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter
And then of course, movies such as Crimson Peak, directed by Guillermo del Toro, and the series Penny Dreadful. They are other media I like as well that have inspired me, but I can't comment solidly as I only know them from an outside POV ( for now ), like Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu, and Bram Stoker's Dracula, for example.
I really like sensual ( sexy? ) horror, that does a nice balance of blending in elements of sexuality with terror - and I feel that gothic novellas do a nice balance of this; which is what I plan ( and hopefully succeed ) in with Weeping Rosemary's full game. It's also why WR's horror is not, like, a loud jumpscare horror, moreso than a subtle horror.
As for the creation process - The game production had commenced around February of this year, as it was my final semester as a art student. I had to do a thesis and all I knew was that I realllllly wanted to make a game, but I was unsure of what. I decided to revise and redo Weeping Rosemary, my webcomic, because I felt confident that I could not only give it the writing it deserved, but make into the game I always imagined!
My dear friend & classmate had the program, and she gave me hers, and so I got to work! Weeping Rosemary became my thesis, and I had completed the demo game around?? April 30th?
I'll show in the images below, but I had done a lot of writing; around almost 30 pages of script writing and 5 page outline to hand to my professor so he could see my plan. And then a lot of thumbnail planning and art to make for the CG and sprites! As well as see what art style would suit the game best.
Some progress shots, to show the general gist:

"Steve's super smart and a great artist and really funny and has a pretty face and beautiful blue green eyes and a deep voice and likes reading and he's really kind and speaks Gaelic fluently and is a Good Catholic Boy™ (a lie)"
Also why did Beardalina get so offended when Steve offered her peanuts. I do Not understand that at all
Poor Bucky, wanting nothing more than to wax poetic about Steve's aquamarine eyes and hollywood starlet eyelashes and fearless integrity and intelligence and artistic gift and baritone singing voice, only for it to backfire because his girl's plus one is always a fuckn incel idiot who resting-bitchface's her way out of the best thing that ever would've happened to her, if only she didn't believe that none of those qualities could possibly exist in a short disabled man! 🙄
