being full of extreme emotions 24/7 does NOT make you good at expressing emotions, especially when it's sanitized, socially-ordained sentiment demanded by professional etiquette. in fact, being super upfront and genuine about my emotions makes this faux behaviour MORE excruciating, imho
source: i am consistently the most emotional person on the face of the earth, but am experiencing The Agonies trying to write thank you cards for my second-last day at work

do you have any tips for like... paneling? your lil comics, if i could call them that(?) with Dave are well made (to me at least) and I'd like to get into making comics! or if you know any resources that helped you. :') - sincerely, a beginner.
sorry to be answering this so late, wanted to try and give some kinda proper advice haha
so what i do is i just make my posts as long as possible so that it takes up like all of ppls dash, this means they are forced to look at it and engage with it!
no ok but for real, first off
this is just how i do things and by no means any sort of proper tutorial or anything,
most of this is prob kinda basic and intuitive stuff, but its good to be reminded of the basics and to notice why you might be doing said things intuitively so you can start doing it intentionally
so how i approach things is by picking a focus panel
whats the Punchline/Emotional pay off for the page/comic?
and then i try and build the rest around that
for actual Comics not every page is gonna have one of those ofcourse and thats fine
i tend to often have to many focus panels,,,, lmao(which is why my posts end up so long,,,,)
i try to group similar panels and make them smaller, it saves space, makes it so the attention goes to the more unique panels and makes things feel more sequential(or u can do like me and have too many similar panels and think, what if i just make it an animation, its just a few extra frames right,,,?<- clueless(i have done this twice now,,, the second is still a wip,,, ))
heres one of my posts deconstructed using all this, id do more of them but i dont wanna make this even longer asdsd, but i think its pretty obvious to pick up on once you know the formula lol
after that i think its mostly just clear composition and flow so things dont get confusing(like what panel(also applies to text) youre suppose to read next and such(thats easier with this cus its usually just individual panels and not full pages))
edit: oh and resources that helped me, i mostly just looked at other comics, paying attention to how the paneling was effecting the story and mood!
some comics ive looked at for paneling inspo are houseki no kuni, how they play with contrast and stuff, idk theyre all just very striking, i looked at ajin at some point as well for help with some action stuff, most action shonen are also great for that 2
so yeah, just find a comic scene that has the same vibe that youre trying to get and see how they did it, finding a few and comparing and contrasting what you feel works best
thats my thought process while doing stuff at least!
i hope this helps at least a bit haha

Random question about the “they should make persona for people who like good games” post. Do people think the persona series is that bad? I know they aren’t perfect but I wouldn’t call them bad games.
I had a wholeass essay written out before i realized im too tired to make it sound coherent. AND my only experience is p 4 and 5, so my opinion on it means jack shit. All i can say is that the most recent titles suffer from bad writing. (And repetitive gameplay, but thats a different issue). Be it poorly written characters and dialogue, or poorly written interactions and plot, it is hard to take some of the stuff in the more recent games at face value. One could argue that that just means the game is subpar, not necessarily bad, but thats subjective; bad means different things to different people. And i say this as someone who thinks this game is Not the best but still found it incredibly engaging and entertaining.

whenever i happen upon ppl making really bad faith posts about their dash aka the ppl they choose to follow it’s like. if they make u mad why follow them. if u don’t trust their morals at all why do u follow them. if u don’t trust they have critical thinking skills beyond their posts when they don’t put every conceivable disclaimer on them genuinely why do u follow them. like i know being a hater is fun but maybe save that energy for ppl u run into in tags or notes and not ur every day experience on ur own dash

happy new years ! also, for year 2024, my rp resolution would be to ( hopefully !!! ) be a bit easier and lax around shipping more !! i've always been a bit of a slow-burn shipper, but i wanna try to be more open about inviting that dynamic ♡ i'm also hoping my skills to communicate would continuously improve !

Something thats incredibly stupid that i havent seen anyone else complain about is that theyre going to explore preventing you from seeing a post more than once on your feed which is literally one of my least favorite things from twitter

Sorry to spread more annoyance but wolfstar can really grate me. Remus stans make him more intelligent than Sirius, bc he was seen reading a book once (completely ignoring sirius' genius), have everyone have their gay awakening over Remus (which completely negates his inferiority complex. Like. Come on, if people swoon over a non-descript guy like Remus over mother fucking Sirius Black, what's even going on??! People shouldn't even be able to SEE Remus when Sirius is around), and make Sirius fall in love with him OVER James Potter?? I even like wolfstar, but in no universe was James not Sirius' first love and possibly first heartbreak
i can get behind this kind of intense dislike, tbh. same on all accounts. luckily, i’ve not run into many fics like the second ask, purely because i’m so vigilant now and exit at the slightest inconvenience (which is,,,so freeing,,,not forcing urself to finishing something just for the sake of it) but yah. remus getting all of sirius (and james’!) canonical traits while at the same time undermining them is definitely my villain origin story
