UnPopular Jujutsu Kaisen Opinions (with arguments) PT 2

hi god. it's me again. :)

—manga spoilers!

☆ Sukuna is not stronger than Gojo

right.

i've noticed that both hardcore gojo fans and sukuna fans are delusional; almost on the same tier as the kpop stans that say their oppar is an angelic virgin who will marry them. they are willing to trash the character fighting against their favourite in a genuinely petty way 💀

in the manga it's said clearly that even back in the heian day, sukuna's presence didn't cause much uproar because times were rougher back then. the ones alive had a certain type of blood thirst so you were strong by default if you weren't dead. was sukuna the strongest back then and eventually made himself a name? yes.

gojo's birth caused a disbalance in the world.

let's not forget that. in shibuya, when he expanded his domain for 0.2 seconds, the people subjected to that received 6 months worth of information and had to be hospitalised for weeks.

(that's one of my favourite manga panels, btw. will get to that in a second)

let's do some maths.

a minute has 60 seconds. 60÷0.2= 300. 300x6months=1800. in a minute, you get 1800 months' worth of information. 1800÷12= 150. 150 years in a minute. 150÷6= 25. sukuna got information input worth 25 years of non-stop intense brain activity.

that's not only a face of brain damage. sukuna is shook by how powerful that shit was. mad props to him for enduring that. 👏

what's the point of this? to understand that gojo's power is terrifying. that shit hits you properly? it's over. it's not even instant death. it's absolute. no way, chance of recovery.

but sukuna is more well-versed in curse energy. he has a deeper understanding of it. that's his strongest skill— knowledge. gojo with his 6 Eyes can't sense people from a big distance well. sukuna could feel megumi hurting from kilometres away just because he dissected the theory of cursed energy that well, no innate technique. his use of RTC also shows that— it's one thing to get the hang of it, an entirely different one to understand it. sukuna could literally cure cancer if he wanted. (au! doctor sukuna? 🤭🤭 hanibal lecter way since he's a canon cannibal. that's how he became besties with uraume, they KNEW how to cook.)

but then you guys will be like: "ok plague, but doesn't that mean their power is equal since they both excel on their separate things?" no. LOL. knowledge can be attained— if gojo with his natural skills would have sukuna's knowledge... yeah. it would be over. but gojo is gojo and doesn't like putting in effort so he is balanced like that.

this fight is mastery vs innate talent among many other things. one of the main messages in jujutsu kaisen, especially in the plasma vessel arc, is that being powerful is sometimes not enough. and that's exactly gojo is so damn strong; he's the perfect one to prove that point. that's why he struggles against my fraudulent sweet prince. 😍

☆ Maki will never be Toji

never. lol.

people compare them, especially the ones in the jjk world because there are no other heavenly restricted people to draw a parallel between. toji's strength doesn't only come from the fact that he maxxed up his body. it's also his mentality and life philosophy— which maki will never be able to embody. giving up on everything. being all alone. giving up even on yourself and your pride, living to kill and killing to live. that's a certain desperation that's so powerful and strengthening it can not even be called desperation, just something rooting from a VERY similar place with it. toji was rejected by everything and he rejected everything around him. until he didn't and well... we know how that ended. 💀

her own principles will take her on a different path. this is not an opinion about power scaling or whatever, it's as simple as it sounds. SHE IS STRONG. BUT WILL EVOLVE DIFFERENTLY. maki is accepted by some people, by her friends. maki also has her sister; with whom she had a love-hate relationship wtv but in the end mai becomes her greatest motivation and unleash point. plus, maki became besties with that blood clan guy for whatever reason, i don't mind but that's more so to solidify my point. she was able to forge new connections and maintain her old ones.

+ all great villains/ op protags have some backstories. some curses wanted to become the real humans. some mfs were homeless. maki ain't broke enough for this toji shit bruh.

☆ Kashimo is overhyped

he's has an unhinged mentality but that doesn't mean he is a goat. his only purpose in life (reason why kenjaku tapped that ass a bit) is to duel sukuna. very cool. but come on bro. YOU KNOW he is gonna have max 1-2 cool badass moments before he goes like "lul, xd. guess my life nice. bye bye minna-san☺️. the true jujutsu kaisen is the friends we made along the way."

if he actually does something cool and badass that will influence the plot beyond adding few cold ass panels, GGs. but there is literally no reason for all the WILD dick buffing this man is getting as of now. no basis.

you know he low-key shitting his pants watching that fight going on— would it be totally in character for him to get excited and hop in for the lols just to see how much damage/influence he'd have? yeah. but that's only because of his ambition. kthx

☆ Nanami has one of the best mentalities

i don't know and i don't care if this is popular/ unpopular.

NANAMI. THE. GOAT.

in a shonen world filled with adults that push all the responsibility on children while they fucx off to party, he is refreshingly aware of the importance his position as an adult holds. (itachi, kakashi, sasuke and naruto could've really used a nanami. you didn't hear that from me though.)

even if in the beginning he didn't really like yuji and only viewed him as sukuna's vessel, a mistake for the jujutsu world, his mentality was: "you are a kid. my priority as an adult is to make sure you are safe." (not exact quotes. when tumblr lets me post more than 10 pics i'll spam you with manga panels, i promise.)

then, he grew fonder of him etc.

"even if you are a sorcerer, you are still a kid. you shouldn't be the one to blame yourself for x event. that's the the business of adults."

in the first light novel, even gojo told nanami that he is the type to be able to save a child's heart from the poison the jujutsu world has to offer. gojo says something among the lines of "for grown ups, the poisons this world has to offer are many and we learn how to deal with them. but for a soul as enthusiastic (as yuji's and many others' teens) one poison like is enough to mess them up for life. exactly because you are the type of sorcerer to know that i'm asking you to look after yuji, even if once, as the individual he is, not sukuna's vessel."

as he was dying, a death filled with doubts and frustrations towards everything— he still thought about yuji's sake. he didn't want to become a curse to him. he could've said "well, i won't see his misery anw so i can put all this sh1t pissing me off on him". (would've been me fr, my self control 0)

that is peak adulting. peak. peak. peak.

haruta shigemo was recruited to help the bad scawwyy villains to help with their plans!! yayy. all clear so far. gr8. he is not as strong as a grade 1 sorcerer but his innate technique is luck so he is super duper useful in battles!! (very cool, i know ^^)

now, let's see what happened with haruta shigemo once he faced sukuna (who was busy exorcising mahoraga).

it's fuck1ng OVER man. i've just explained how powerful gojo is and he is striking sukuna with the intent to kill. also let's not forget: sukuna himself is very fuck1ng strong. those two want to rip eachother's throats out. gojo doesn't really care so much about megumi's safety and that's a very sensible smart choice since anything is better than letting him be as he is.

"but— plague 🙄, if he is close to geting backshots then ofc people should help!! they should go against the 2 shikigamis!!! they should've stepped in from the moment gojo's nose bled."

the ONLY instance where it would be ok for someone to step in is when Gojo is literally laying on the ground DEAD or in a state similar with the thing he had with toji. (hopefully it won't happen, my majestic king gotta see another day 😔 👑)

sooo we have hcs on Stanley being asked on a date, could we have some of what it’s be like going on an actual date with him? 🙏

As I wrestle with myself and pick at the other ask, this was a nice little break! I hope it answered your question well enough, and is entertaining, maybe a lil humorous at the end? I tried lol.

Stan isn’t the most romantic seeming man.

You kind of imagine he’s a pretty aloof dude who either goes with the flow, or puts no real effort into his wooing of people.

However, he’s sort of the opposite.

Not that he’s superromantic, squishy gooball, but he’ll bring you roses, take you to a nice dinner, or something like that.

Though, to be honest, you also might be taken to a shooting range.

That would let him show off, and have an excuse to teach you some about guns.

Though, I imagine he’s a particular fan of simple dates, like going star gazing, or hiking, or something like that.

If he does take you out on a date though, whether it’s romantic or not, he will at least flirt.

Stan might be a bit aloof and grumpy, but he’s got charms in spades.

Sneaking an arm around you, compliments, keeping close to you, and even innuendos.

He’s not particularly perverted, but he’s no shrinking violet, and he can be pretty raunchy when he wants.

But hey, he’s also a gentleman, and he’s not pushy. So, your date will still be fun, and he’d stop flirting or anything if you seem legit uncomfortable.

Stan’s also generally a fan of dates that let him get to know his potential partners, so be ready to talk a fair amount.

The biggest issue you might run into as a suitor for the marine, is Xeno sticking his slightly territorial nose into his best friends life. Other than that, it’s sure to be a great time!

And hey, if you’re the type to not bother with the rules of a first date, neither is Stan, if ya know what I mean lol.

I’m relatively new to the fandom and have really enjoyed a lot of your posts… I have a question that I couldn’t quickly find an answer to in searching through your tags…

What’s the deal with streaming? Like, I listen to BTS. I enjoy them a lot, I listen to a pretty even mix of all their albums though I probably like MOTS:7 era the best). Some days I listen to them like all day lol (if I’m cleaning the house or something) and I listen to them a lot in the car or while working. I’ve enjoyed some solo releases more than others so I naturally streamed those more. but like the more I start following accounts on here and on army twt the more confused I get about the intense pressure to stream constantly? I’ve heard that people play certain songs (or albums I guess?) on repeat on mute and/or have dedicated streaming devices they keep going all the time.

Not to be negative or rude at all but like…what? Maybe because I’m new to KPop and have never followed it until BTS but that just sounds so weird and… idk the word, maybe disingenuous? Again I do not mean this as an attack I am just genuinely confused. Wouldn’t BTS themselves want us only to listen if we were actually enjoying it and not out of some competitive attempt to get better ratings? It feels so odd to me, like that is not how I would behave with any other artist that I love. I would only ever listen to them out of a genuine desire to hear their music. But there seems to be so much weird shaming out there for when/if songs are not streamed heavily enough? And for any other artist I would just write that off as a difference in taste among the fandom, but here it’s treated like a personal wrong against the artist…?

But as I say that I’m sure there’s more to it… I have definitely seen people talking about payola or chart manipulation so idk. If I should google this instead, just tell me to, I just have already tried and didn’t find that much clarity, just a bunch of people on quora and Reddit talking about certain songs not getting streamed enough.

Okay wait I’m the anon that just asked about streaming and I went and re-read your post about “inorganic success” — I had read it before but somehow I didn’t put together that the 24-7 streaming is an attempt to combat payola or like go up against it I guess. Okay. That makes more sense. I still feel like there’s a weird focus on charting but I guess if it’s about getting more concert venues and more radio play it makes sense.

You can ignore my last ask then I’m sorry if I’m being dense or something lol.

You haven’t at all asked a stupid question. Your confusion is easily explained by you being new to k-pop, and everyone new to this madhouse asks this question eventually. I’ve talked about this before, but can’t find the post for the life of me so I’ll briefly go over it again.

First, you need to understand what k-pop is. K-pop is a system that gamifies music consumption. Competition is something you’ll see in the music industry regardless. Western stans such as Arianators, Barbz, and the Beyhive have organized around streaming goals and efforts for at least 10 years now. But there’s no other music industry that explicitly emphasizes competition among groups and fans, the way the k-pop industry does.

Competition is baked into its DNA:

From the idol training system under agencies with supposed specialities that are treated like warring houses a la Game of Thrones (a mentality created by the Big 3),

to the music shows where fans are encouraged to vote daily and weekly for the best artists and where wins are tied to streaming numbers,

to the highly publicized year-end award show criteria that outline key metrics for wins in streams, sales, and fan votes.

Basically, the k-pop industry creates a clear hierarchy of talent and acclaim for artists in their system, directly stokes fan participation in buying into that hierarchy, and the numbers are the easiest litmus test/short cut to settle the question of who is at the top.

And all of this is served with a cocktail of parasocial delusion and entitlement that has (more easily manipulated) fans thinking their perceived investment into their faves, earns them the right to micromanage their fave idols’ careers. All of this benefits the labels and industry because they’d rather have you more engaged (even if toxically), than not.

Everybody here buys into this system despite what they’ll tell you, some just manage to keep their wits and perspective to prevent getting sucked in, while others fall headfirst into it.

And so, like I said in my ‘inorganic success’ post you referenced, the focus on streaming is part of fans really just playing the game. Excess is something you’ll see on the charts in any case, whether in k-pop or in the West.

The difference with BTS and ARMYs however, is in the why of how the fandom streams. Essentially, you’re more likely to find people just as passionate about the music itself as they are about giving that music its due in hard numbers and consequently, recognition. You’re more likely to find fans like this in the ARMY fandom, than any other, in my opinion. Some people forget that the og ARMYs were k-pop fans first. They were fans who intimately understood how this system worked, they understood why the Big3 maintained dominance in k-pop for literal decades, and they saw the worth in the music BTS made, loved it enough to invest time into the playing the game better than anyone else at the time - pushing BTS from nugu status to where they are now, competing well outside the realm of the k-pop system but in a space that remains complex and highly competitive.

Another aspect that differentiates how ARMYs stream vs other k-pop fandoms, is that due to the sheer size of the fandom in absolute numbers, the average ARMY typically streams less than a typical k-pop stan. Basically, in other fandoms the typical stan has to stream more per person to have even a fraction of the gains seen in the ARMY fandom. ARMYs also aren’t doing anything other fandoms aren’t doing, it’s just that so far, they’re more efficient at it and don’t have to worry too much because BTS makes music that keeps attracting more fans, adding to the size of the fandom. They’ve also generally stayed away from more illegal methods given the intense scrutiny and animosity the fandom has faced for being part of the reason BTS upended the ordained hierarchy in this space. It sounds silly but it’s true.

But that’s only one side of the story. The other side is that in the fandom, everybody here really just does what they want. And many people genuinely enjoy listening to BTS that much and that intensely. Going by personal experience in what I observed before I became ARMY, I noticed that many ARMYs are Type A and organized - people who like and study data. The first time in my life that I saw someone create a spreadsheet for fan theories on a k-pop MV, was when an ARMY made one for I NEED U MV. I’m not sure what it is about BTS, but from the beginning they’ve attracted the sort of fans who genuinely enjoy listening to music often, people who enjoy creating and playing around with playlists, and people who track and measure applicable data. So your assumption that the people who stream like this are people who don’t actually enjoy the music, is wrong. In my opinion. For a lot of ARMYs, streaming and appreciating the music isn’t mutually exclusive.

Personally, I listen to music a lot. And I’ve always been that way, so when I became ARMY, I just sort of naturally fit into that culture. The sort of music BTS makes is a joy to listen to, I play their stuff literally everyday and it feels like the most normal thing in the world for me to sleep to Serendipity sometimes (in my sleep playlist which includes brown noise and rain sounds), or to do laundry to Let Me Know playing, or to drive to UGH and Set Me Free Pt 2 playing. I have multiple accounts because I listen to all kinds of music all the time, and it’s just convenient for me to have things set up such that I can flip on a playlist in every situation I’d want one on.

But like I said, the reality is that everyone in this fandom does what they want. It’s true there are certain people in the fandom who obsess over streaming, these are typically chartmys and akgaes, but most other people stream however they like. Fandom in general is a pressure cooker environment so I don’t blame you for noticing that pressure, but at the end of the day you really should just do what makes the most sense to you.

ARMYs generally recognize the reality of the space they are in, they recognize what it means for BTS, and most simply tweak their normal listening habits to maximize the gain and support to BTS. Plus sometimes it’s fun to play into fandom’s initiatives as a way to connect with other fans (such as in streaming parties).

Chapter 1.

Pairing: Post Covid!Stan Marsh x Reader, Post Covid!Kenny McCormick x Reader.

Triggers: 18+, Cheating (Reader is married to Stan), Stan is a sweetheart, light smut. Mini series. Damn, I'm putting a lot of effort into this. Btw this is inspired by my one shot; Bleeding the love lol, but not really. mentions of depression.

This was a dream that any girl you grew up with in South Park would die for a chance for, but in your case it was a dangerous game. Despite knowing the consquences of this game, neither of you wanted to stop, nor had thought about stopping. Kenny was never as pleased in his life, than right now. Kenny's hands moved up your back as his lips moved down your neck, giving you a chance to breathe while Kenny multi-tasked to take off your shirt, kiss your neck and set you upon his kitchen table.

"I've wanted you all day." Kenny whispered as his kisses traced down your stomach breath. "You and that damn skirt. You looked so damn cute all day." Kenny continued as he stopped at your skirt. The only reason being that he needed to remove his own shirt.

Kenny has planned for a fire drill at his lab today, encase of an experiment gone wrong. You being his secretary knew this a few weeks in advance but that did not mean you wrapped up at all. It was cold and your skin had goosebumps all over, your nipples hardening through your shirt. Kenny had watched you, his pants tightening every second. It wasn't until one of his interns had come up and distracted him, that his lust from taking you then and there faded. But Kenny liked the game.

Later on, during your lunch break Stan had called you to see how the fire drill went. Kenny knew that he couldn't of picked a worst girl to fall inlove with. But when you applied for the job for his secretary back in November, he couldn't control himself. You couldn't control yourself either. And after that, you both became inseparable.

It wasn't like Stan was a bad husband. In fact, he was an amazing husband. He done everything for you. Stan had his own whiskey company, his stopped drinking (which was hard in itself when you own that sort of company), he bought you both a house back in South Park to be near to your parents, and filled you with nothing but love and kindness every day from the moment you woke up until you both went to sleep at night. Who would of ever thought that Stan Marsh was a good husband?

As Kenny began sliding off your skirt, rubbing his thumb up and down your clothed slit, your phone rang and made you both jump in fear. The fear of being caught by Stan had you both anxious. "Don't answer." Kenny muttered, while you rang your fingers through his blonde hair. The ringing stopped and Kenny began undressing you. But your phone began ringing again. It was probably Stan. You began to move away from Kenny.

“No, no, no" Kenny whined against your clothed pussy. He tried to hold your legs opened as you stretched your body down to grab your phone, which was left on the chair. One hand grabbing your phone, another still in a tight grip of Kenny's hair. It was hard to move when Kenny was holding you down. But you caught your phone and answered. "Hello?"

Between the glances and the secret kisses, there was always something stopping you and Kenny. It was almost like a sign from the universe, telling you both to stop and not to do this. Not to ruin a marriage, and to not ruin a life time long friendship.

"Hey baby." You could hear Stan smiling into the phone. "You didn't come home at 5 and I got worried something was wrong."

"Yeah, sorry. I had to stay a little later to fix some files. You know, the whole fire alarm thing ruined everything." You lied, looking down at Kenny who was resting his head on your hip bone. You already were wishing that Kenny's hand were touching you in your desired places.

"Don't worry, baby. I was just worried." Stan spoke again. Looking down at Kenny, he began placing sloppy kisses on your thighs, moving closer and closer, pulling your panties to the side. Your breathing became laboured as you watched.

"Hello?"

"What?"

"I said will we get a dominos for dinners? I don't feel like cooking and I know you're stressed out with paper work.. We would do date night?." Stan repeated. He didn't sound annoyed, thank gosh.

"Oh yeah sure. Sounds good." You replied, biting your lip to stop moaning as Kenny began teasing your clit with his thumb.

"Paper work sounds lame." Stan smiled when he heard you giggle. No one could believe it when you two started dating in college. Nobody in South Park anyways could, he liked not only the fact you were kind and beautiful. But how you made him a better person, someone who valued him and thought he was worth much more than he viewed himself, especially when his depression was kicking his ass. Stan knew from there on out, you were the love of his life. "Will you be long?"

You felt guilt running through your veins as he seemed so excited for you to come home. Stan was always excited for you to come home from work, running up to kiss you at the door, massaging your back after a hard day. He even sometimes surprised you with flowers. "I'm not sure.." You answered. You and Kenny didn't really have plans. "Can I call you back?"

"Okay.. Hey, how is Kenny?"

You felt your heart dropping, glancing around all of Kenny's windows, expecting to see Stan standing there, waving in at the two of you. He wasn't. Did someone see you leave together? "Yeah, yeah. He's good. Busy."

Stan sighed. "I'm worried about Kenny. He's been acting weird lately. I suppose though with Karen going off to college, and with Kyle getting married, probably has him weirded out." You hummed in agreement. "Okay, baby. Talk soon."

"Bye, honey." You quickly hung up the phone, placing it down beside you. Kenny stood up, leaning over to kiss your neck again. "He never leaves you alone." He muttered between kisses.

But now, the moment was ruined. While yes, in the past Stan wasn't the best person in the world, he didn't deserve to be cheated on, especially not with someone he considered to be his best friend. If Stan found out, you were sure that this would be his end. How could you be so cruel?

Pulling away, you rested your head into the palm of your hands and sighed. Kenny knew the moment was ruined and you weren't into it, all the lust was now turned into sadness and guilt for your husband. He rubbed your back. "Do you want to watch a movie or something?"

"No, I can't." You whispered. "I told Stan we would get dominos."

"Cute." Kenny muttered, obviously hurt. He pulled away to lean against his kitchen cabinet.

"Ken.."

"What?"

You knew Kenny was pretending to be stupid, but didn't answer him as you began putting back on your top.

"I don't understand." Kenny shrugged. "You're amazing, like for real. Amazing." Kenny eye's scanned over you. Although you weren't the same girl as you were when you were in college, you aged beautiful. He knew this would destroy Stan, and he never wanted to hurt his best friends feeling. But in a strange way, he always felt the need to one up Stan in a weird sadistic way. "And Stan, he's.. ya know."

"Not a girl?"

Kenny just rolled his eyes as he watched as you smoothed out your skirt before he came up and wrapped his arms around your waist. "Cancel on him, and I'll take you out for the best pizza in the world." You looked back, laughing. You both understood that the situation wasn't fair for anyone involved. Not to you, not to Kenny, and especially not to Stan. “No way, Ken. South Park is way too small." All it would take is for you and Kenny to be spotted in a Denny's, laughing for Stan to divorce you and never talk to you and Kenny again. There was no happy ending.

“What if we went out?"

You looked back, shaking your head as you slipped your foot into your heels. "We shouldn't be doing this, let alone talking about it." You wiggled yourself out of Kenny's grip and grabbed your handbag. "I'll see you on Monday."

"Okay." Kenny whispered with a sad smile. Although, you wanted to kiss him goodbye, you refrained from doing so.

Kenny didn't want you to leave. He wanted to keep his arms wrapped around your body, kiss you all over, and hold you all night long. He knew he couldn't. He wasn't your boyfriend (not yet). Kenny smirked, grabbing your waist and leaned in for a kiss. You quickly dodged the kiss, planting a small one on his cheek.

"I'll see you Monday." Kenny smirked as he slapped your ass, watching you walk out of the kitchen and out his door.

As you drove home, the guilt of being with Kenny caught up to you. Stan had been waiting for you to get home for 'date night'. When you pulled up to your home, you took a moment for yourself and collect your thoughts, spraying yourself with extra perfume, fixing your hair and makeup, to remove any traces of Kenny McCormick from your life.

"Hey." You called out as you stepped into your home, looking around for Stan. You were feeling guilty, and Stan didn't even notice it as he walked into the living room, hugging you tightly. "Hey honey, how was work?"

Hi 👋. Saw your recent take on how fandom interpret MQ. And I would to here your thoughts about him being the tsundere people try to make him out to be.

MQ trying to make it up to XL when really FX was the only one still sincere. I've only read up to vol. 4 and reread vol. 1 and 2 to get a better look at details. But there are some concerning lines that even XL noticed. Like MQ seems excited at the prospect of XL becoming this mass murder during the Guoshi FangXin reveal. Even the first introductions in the book was him mocking XL's helpful nature.

"Mu Qing’s eyes were glimmering, however, and his restrained shock contained a faint underlying excitement." TGCF Vol. 2 chapter 18

"Since his third ascension, there could only be one phrase to describe the way Mu Qing treated him: passive-aggressive. It always felt like he was waiting for Xie Lian to get booted for the third time so he could make snide remarks. Yet now that Xie Lian might actually get booted that third time, he suddenly became pleasant—he even came specially to deliver medication. This complete reversal in attitude made Xie Lian feel quite disconcerted." TGCF Vol.2 chapter 19

Even XL was freaked out by MQ acting nice to him.

"Mu Qing suddenly asked, “Was everything Lang Qianqiu said true? Did you really kill those Yong’an royals?”

Xie Lian looked up and met his gaze. Even if Mu Qing had been forcibly hiding it, Xie Lian still detected a trace of uncontrollable excitement in his eyes. He seemed highly interested in the details of Xie Lian’s massacre at the Gilded Banquet—he followed with another question.

“How did you kill them?” TGCF Vol. 2 chapter 19

And after XL half lied about his involvement.

"Feng Xin paled. Mu Qing loathed that expression of his the most and said in annoyance, “All right, put that face away. After everything, for who are you looking so pained?”" TGCF vol. 2 chapter 19

I'm not reading this wrong to think MQ is just a very entitled b****** that got high on his position of power and is looking down on XL for coming from a place which is lower than what most people would go through? Is it appropriate for me to interpret him being downright hostile and reveling in XL's disgrace? Because the stans take for MQ questionable character is bothering me a lot. He is not some prickly cat with a soft heart. He is sharp thorns all the way inside and a heart colder than most.

Unless something changes in further volumes I haven't read which is unlikely. Considering MXTX penchant for consistent character writing.

Thoughts?

Something does change about Mu Qing’s character near the end of the novel, but it’s just character growth. You aren’t misreading any of his actions in the earlier parts of the story. What kills me is that yes, Mu Qing is a terrible person who is petty and jealous and insecure and thinks that the only problem with hierarchy is that he isn’t at the top, but he changes and people ignore that! In the best interest of not introducing spoilers, I will say that Mu Qing does explicitly, using clear language, acknowledge his mistakes and how wrong he was about how he viewed Xie Lian and his treatment of the other man. He acknowledges this on his own under no threat and with no prompting. And people ignore this because it does not fit into their perception of Mu Qing as either right or at least well-meaning. He is neither of those things. He knows it. Xie Lian knows it. But he can be those things if he puts effort into it, and for all people call me a hater about his character (which, yeah lol), I for one think he tries by the end.

So no, Mu Qing isn’t a tsundere because he’s not being mean or rude or petty to those he loves to hide a mushy middle. He’s doing it because he thinks he is right to and that eventually people will see that he is right. The story does not agree he is right and duly punishes him for his fuckery, and he changes into a better person who is actually nicer to his friends because he wants to be their friends and not their superiors. That’s his character.

And We're Live!

Bruh a Miss Kaya update? Sweet! As we've said with Academy, this blog fully stans certified good girl Miss Kaya. I love her outfit here, she was really one of this series's first more classy, modest girlies and say what you will about how Oda draws women but I'm noticing she's not one of the ones who got a Timeskip breast augmentation. Usopp's former crew look like they're growing up fast too. This is a good group, still hope we get more Kaya in Academy because I really like her as the sickly girl who doesn't make it to school all the time. Clever use of a character on Sohei Koji's part.

We can talk about Academy over Golden Week though, because Vegapunk's message is going live! Which means sadly we're done with the fun of dicking around for ten minutes. The Vega Coffee bit was so, so good though. We'll get to the ramifications as we go but first there is a reason for Miss Kaya. Take note of all these people we see, how places like Torino highlight that darker side. VP will even own up to some of his own "sins" in his message. It's a very diffuse reaction to the man. Someone who inspires a lot of different reactions. It's important to pay attention when a story does that, but let's move on:

Hahaha lol eat a dick Mars. Classic decoy maneuver. We did get the brain in a jar! In a chapter where Vegapunk "confirms" his own death and an arc where we've played this game with Kuma. Remember Mars doesn't actually know the deal, he himself is pondering a little over what counts as the real Vegapunk. So I'm inclined to ponder if it is just what we see; part of his brain serving as more or less a hard drive. As much the real him as that paw bubble of memories was the real Kuma. Shout-out to Bonney and her Giant-ish future by the way. It was cool, but pretty much reinforces the same themes. You're acting like Luffy and the crew has fully shifted to treating you (appropriately) as a little kid to watch out for.

The decoy snail though...I like it. Could it have been a long game by Vegapunk? Of course, and keeping York out of the loop is believable. But being on the floor randomly is still weird and putting it right in front of the big brain tank seems rather risky for Vegapunk. Why would he want to nudge at that connection. Get what I'm saying? This is a weirder beat than it seems, but it would make perfect sense through the lens of someone else reacting. Great way to cover one's tracks by just letting the natural assumption take course. There's one part of Vegapunk's speech that bolsters this to me:

Please do not assume that the ones who strike me down are evil. That plus what he says here? Do...not track with thinking the Gorosei would be the ones who came after him. Sounds a little more like he expected Luffy, Bonney, someone like that to take him out. Or even Lucci. It's subtle, but actually a great remind that this all has nothing to do with the Straw Hats. Remember that old theme? The extra effort from the World Government is because of an emperor drifting into the situation. You can't act so casually when the world rocks in your wake. That still seems to be the core lesson for Luffy.

Speaking of, we get another nudge at one of last night's big mysteries. How did Robin get in such rough shape? The scenes before we skip the night set it up okay, she was headed right into a confrontation with York. But it's still a lingering question. And speaking of "lingering," you have the Gorosei hammering that Bakura Town/Ryokugyu theme hard. Reminds me of someone who knows no one called Vermin. The message though, it's what we're all here for. Well, I'm here for Nami Protect Mode.

I have some thoughts about this. Not the reveal itself. Sorta what we saw with Lulusia at the start, the fallout I mean. Excellent through line with Wano and it's own history. Makes Iceberg look so cool in hindsight because he at least was a good enough leader to see it happening locally. Type of thing a shipwright-turned-politician would notice your typical noble wouldn't. Very classic looming threat, makes me think of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou which was our world after massive sea level rise.

Let me just say one thing. This is fucking hilarious from a certain perspective. Imagine you're chilling. Doing your thing. Every PC and Windows product in the world fires up. Bill Gates is streaming live. He takes ten minutes to dick around with coffee then promptly announces his death before telling everyone their own death is imminent because [government conspiracy]. The reaction is going to be wild. Makes me think of David Bowie's "Five Years." If you're a fan, see if you can find the live version from the Dinah Shore show. You won't regret it. That Man Who Fell to Earth look was iconic and you gotta love managing a 4th wall break in a rock opera.

We've talked about this with Robonosuke, who's hanging around in the background still. This is an even better detail someone who learned a lot from Toki would know. Even if it's indirect relevance, it's the exact type of knowledge a modern scholar would find as a big surprise but a friend of the lady from the Void Century could just casually know. Maybe not a fancy sea chart, but say to the degree of a rough map?

Just saying, type of thing there's scenes to support it. The map is right there with some of the first ones that really show Kiku acting like a nanny with Momonosuke. The Act plot with Olin had a lot of subtle bait the girl's a little distinct from the group we'd build on in Act 3. Aside from all that though, just this basic setup of the chapter? We start on a few vignettes around the world showing different reactions to Vegapunk. Then we set up everyone in dire straits as Luffy's run out of gas. Injected a little new mystery through Stussy/York. Now we end on a big reveal that doesn't affect the matter at hand as we pull away from the island?

It's easy to say at a lot of points but if there's a third cutaway...we may be going into it after Golden Week.

Hi. I just want to somehow make catharsis about the whole Chenford break up going on and listen other takes on it.

Maybe Im just a girl going through Mercury Retrograde being delulu not wanting to aknowledge they are over. Having said that:

I just know this is not the end for them. But not for plot reasons that we are all speculating. I mean sure for plot reasons is necesary for Tim to get his shit together before taking the next step with Lucy (Eric said in his interview that Tim loves her and its seen in the lie detector scene and all the Tamara moving out storyline that has been going since last season they are sure heading to moving together). Also sure Lucy has suffered many things and is interesting to see her next steps.

But I just know this is for marketing reasons. They need the show to be renewed for another season and a massive cliffhanger like this one when there's a 3 weeks break between episodes where they know people will be engaged on it is a good way on getting that renewal.

They know people still watching the show because Chenford. They have stated they are endgame. But they are producers and writers and plan things ahead in order to keep the show going. Is just trust the process and the fact that they work on this and know what they are doing. I have seen many shows (most of them from ABC) to know they give the fans what they want bc in the end is a product that is sold and know that not doing something your target audience wants equals not product to be sold.

Also, even though Melissa and Eric had said that there are some things coming on Tim and Lucy on the season finale and blah blah blah. They are putting a lot of effort on the breakup promotionally speaking. The interviews released the second the episode finished, the TikToks from Melissa, the whole ice cream promo with letters to the cast about the breakup and they laughing and making jokes (also like the ig account still saying Chenford stan account) is more clear is about making the people engaged and furthermore, making the network renew the show for season 7. They are actors and know they must keep a good relationship with their fans (I mean if you make something that upset your fans then how would you keep getting called to act if you dont have people watching them for you and other actors can), what Im saying Is they are laughing and all of this because they know how it ends and know they end in a place where fans will love it, if not they are basically bullyng us lol.

So long story short: just keeping my peace of mind knowing it is just marketing. By the interviews we know somehow the season finale lets them in a good place, so if season 7 comes maybe we got time to see them making up with more time and development (things this season had been rushed bc the strike, not only here but in most shows) and if there's not season 7 it will end up with Chenford with a sort of an open finale where all points to them giving it another chance in their inmidate future.

Hope i made myself clear. Just wanted to vent haha. And lets chill and cross fingers for season 7 and an Oscar for Melissa and Eric because that break up was so CHEFF KISS like girlll I have felt that pain too.

I know that this isn't forever and I can see why they did it. I hope more people can also think about that as they calm down and as the rest of the season plays out. I'm seeing a lot of negative opinions right now and everyone is entitled to how they feel but the writers aren't dumb, they know what they're doing.

Something like this happening near the end of the season will bring attention to it and hook people in, since they'll wanna watch to see it resolved. Even though that's not gonna happen til season 7 unfortunately.

Also a lot of people criticizing the writers need to realize that the show isn't for them specifically lol. Not targeting anyone but these are commonly used tropes in tv for a reason, they aren't a personal attack. I can think of 10 ships off the top of my head that this happened to. It's a common thing, getting into a relationship that has been anticipated for so long but life gets in the way, so you need to work it out individually, then together happens a lot. And pretty much all of them come out stronger on the other side.

I'm crossing my fingers for season 7! I'm not really worried about cancelation since its rating are pretty good and it's a big streaming hit, but anything can happen unfortunately. Still, I think we're safe lol.

I still haven't rewatched the breakup scene in full because it HURTS. They both killed it but Melissa's face and inflection on her voice makes me wanna curl up and die its so heart wrenching 😭😭.

Stan

• has blue eyes

• hair is wavy and he’ll dye it darker or blond depending on his mood, but he doesn’t do anything else to it so it just appears unmanaged

• shorter like his dad, maybe around 5”9/10

• he gets light freckles on his face in the summer, but then breaks out in the fall. I think since he lives in Colorado he’s really pale, but I think if he lived in a warmer place he be tan.

So this person @tiesthatbindel @neolavender @neolilac @itunisaaa @neosprivateacc who champions Sakura and holds that Naruto is straight (they said he wasn't gay, didn't say he was bi either, and didn't seem to question his sexuality at all),

who holds Kishi is heteronormative and homophobic (🤦), has been harassing me on my private message and askbox. Here as well. They are using multiple accounts to do so.

Sorry guys, I had to shut off my ask box because this person is just refusing to leave me alone, all because I wrote lol to their comment. I was polite to them, and slightly dismissive perhaps, but this person is making it a mission to gather their followers to block me and hate on me. But seems their only followers are their own alt accounts. Heheh.

I think they feel slighted because I won't take them seriously. They really went from calling my content stellar, and God tier, to harassing me and trying to report me because I wrote a post over a year ago where I talked about my community being on the receiving end of systemic ethnic and religious discrimination in my country.

And a lot more but I blocked them. They are not only badmouthing me but denegrating other SNS fans that I happily interact with. And I am baffled. They simply won't stop.

To prove their point, they also gathered screenshots from a Hinata stan called 'chhote-pandit' who harassed me and several other SNS fans last year, someone who threatened to feed our intestines to their cats for shipping 'brothers', and called SNSers horny fujoshis and dirty lesbians. That person was banned by Tumblr. This person's account also seems to be partially banned. Why are SS and NH stans like this? Bah. Like it's some type of neurosis.

They think Sasuke shinden is canon. Lol. Thing is they went personal, and petty. While I put effort to link them to my content for their benefit, they skipped all of that and started to harass me on my message boards. When I saw that they were spamming my posts, I blocked them. Like I would with any other person. And THAT was their undoing.

Ah. Now one would think I am affected. And I do feel bad, both for myself and them because I didn't deserve this much craziness for saying fanfic writers should dig deeper and presented a research based and well reasoned perspective. And they chose to take offense and take it to a personal level, getting petty, verbally abusing me.

Meanwhile they don't know anything about my ethnicity, my background, my struggles. And if I told them, I can promise they will take it all back. Heh. It can be grounds for even suing them. Yeah, it's that significant. I come from a very interesting (and rare) socio politico cultural intersection. But I value my privacy and anonymity. One other SNSer asked me about it politely and as a response, I left some reading material with them as answer. It explains it much better than I can.

I also am not really bothered as of now because I think I hurt their ego real bad. Just by not taking them seriously. Because I said lol to their comments. They have bigger problems than my dismissal of them.

Anyway, I understand fandoms can be challenging and a lot of people with strong voices get dragged for it on Tumblr. Especially in Naruto fandom. Heh. But the simplest way for them to deal with it was to actually talk storytelling and characters with me, like I did, by sharing links to my content. Instead they got personal while not really doing any of that.

The reason I am here is the story, my boys, Kishi and I find it a lot of fun interacting with other SNSers here. I am grateful that people even make time to read my long winding, seriously long ass posts. Hehehe.

So if you see some stuff somewhere where people are talking about blocking me or talking shit, that's what it's about.

Ever notice how both conversations between Jaune and Pyrrha and Jaune and Penny before they die have a similar structure, with Jaune desperately proclaiming that everything will be ok because the others will show up to help with Pyrrha/Penny saying there's no time. The only outlier in this is Jaune had his semblance to help with Penny, but even that wasn't enough. From his perspective unlocking his semblance made him useful and him using it to save Weiss in V5 helped him move past the Pyrrha guilt a little, but then the Penny situation comes running him over like a god damn truck and reverses any progress so far a little bit. Lol there's a reason why the episode in v4 where him and Ruby have a non verbal agreement about "being tired if losing everything" is titled "Two Steps Forward Two Steps Back" Its just like Penny coming back temporarily put Ruby at ease after not having time to grieve the first time around and then she died again.

Anyway we stan Lancaster, a platonic trauma friendship between 2 mentally I'll goobers who have shared trauma over the same too women in their lives for similar but different reasons.

Jaune and Ruby desperately trying to hold on to the things that they love but it all keeps slipping away despite their best efforts.

And it's their fault. If only they were stronger, if only they were quicker, smarter, more worthy of the ones they were holding on to.

But Ruby is always too late, and Jaune is always too weak.

Bohol In My Mind // film dump

07/29 - 08/02 :: Panglao, Bohol

I’ve always been fascinated by Bohol since I was a kid as I always see the iconic Chocolate Hills in my favorite history textbooks and wonder what they look like in real life but I just never got the chance and the timing to visit there. I committed last year that I would visit this beautiful island this year and I'm so happy that I did after my Boracay trip last month. I stayed in a very peaceful villa near Panglao with my friends for almost a week and it was one of the most beautiful trips I've been on this year mainly because it's not just pure beach trips and booze, those kinds of stuff, but also countryside trip tours where I get to explore the other side of the island. I brought my Kodak film cam with me to take some snapshots and here are some of the shots that were developed by a wonderful photo lab called Sunny16 somewhere in QC.

Baclayon Church, the oldest Christian church in Bohol built in 1556. I’m so amazed how structures from the past can withstand the test of time and natural disasters considering they were built without the current modern technology. I'm also amazed how recent restoration efforts did not diminish the original, classic aesthetic of the church.

The countryside trip itinerary that you can book in Bohol also includes stops in parks like the Xzootic Animal Park in Loay where you can see exotic animals. I have mixed feelings about this one. I'm not gonna lie. I was fascinated by how BIG and calm the snakes were lying in the park in a crowd of people and I was extremely bewildered how giant snakes were just lying there unbothered AF lol. Though I trust that the people in Bohol take good care of these animals, I still cannot help and think about the kind of stress these animals have to endure knowing they're animals that necessarily don't like human interaction and prefers to be on their natural habitat but they're being carried around like stuffed toys for people wanting to take selfies with them. I specifically saw one yellow snake (the one on the pic) where it seems to walk away wanting to go back to its cage and not feeling the people around him but was carried back again by the zookeepers for people who wants to take a pic with it including us! I felt a sense of worry and a sense of guilt about that but again, I know these parks operate within the bounds of laws and regulations so I'm just gonna put all my worries into that and praying they're really taking good care of these animals and hopefully touching them is no longer a practice in the future.

One of the highlights of the countryside tour was the buffet lunch on Loboc river. I wish the trip was a bit longer though but I have to say the food was great! Before we went to Chocolate Hills, we passed by a tarsier sanctuary and their man-made forest which I thought was a park but a highway with busses and vans passing through. So it's a photo-op moment at your own risk.

If there's one thing that I liked most about the countryside tour, it was the ATV around Chocolate Hills. It was fun and muddy, and I'm screaming and panicking but in a good way. It was my first time. It's like biking, but with an ATV and THEE Chocolate Hills around you. What a playground! I don't mind having my white Stan Smith sneakers covered in mud after that because it was hella fun.

The remainder of our tour was spent on island hopping and beach bumming, the latter of which is my all-time fave travel activity. But please never ever forget your SPF 30+ if you're just like me who loves to beachbum all afternoon! Panglao Bohol also has a "Boracay-like" stretch of white sand and one of them is the famous Alona Beach. Though smaller, it has finer white sands too with crystal clear open-to-all beach with restos and establishments on the beachfront for food trips that offer a variety of cuisines to try.

We also visited the infamous Virgin island the same day where some tourists were charged 26k worth of food. Honestly, I can say that their food was indeed kinda expensive for me too, and good thing we had already eaten on a nearby island after snorkeling because we knew for a fact that their food prices will be very high. It was a right choice.

The villa that we stayed in was just right. It was quiet, gave us a lot of privacy, and was just in the right proximity to Alona beach and surprisingly the food that they cooked for their guests was kinda cheap but very delicious as well. We lounged, ate, and drank in their pool once we get back from touring the island and it was a great way to cap the day.

Our stay in Bohol was kinda memorable for me as it was a combination of long roadtrips and also being able to relax on the beach and just enjoy the sun and the fresh air and it recharged me in a lot of ways. Bohol was my last stop after flying to Zamboanga and Boracay and by that time, for some reason, I kinda missed going back to work when I was in the airport flying back to Manila and I think it's a great indication that disconnecting for a bit is indeed a good motivator for our capitalist-enslaved spirits and how it breaks the tedium of "quiet-quitting" or moments when everything is just too much of a thing to get into. I’d definitely go back! : )

hello dear anon! thank you for being my very first ask!

i hope you won't regret venting to me because this response ended up....well...extensive. i have many many things to say and a lack of adhd medication to contain them.

i would also like to note that i'm not at all experienced with writing think pieces on the internet. but even though i haven't written an essay since college, i can sure yap. and even though i'm a genius /s, this may not make sense to anyone. so here's what my chronic fatigue and i were able to conjure up:

yes, tv shows are primarily for an audience, whether writers and directors do accept that or not, that's what i'm guessing producers have in mind. tv is literally built 'for your viewing pleasure', and with this show in the past, and by past i mean season 5 especially (and the shock and surprise of 4x22), they (whoever they is) have been manically hitting that red button titled 'DO THE THING THEY WANT' just so they can say they did it and you as an audience can't complain. so yes in my experience, shows very often, if not always, write for an audience, otherwise the creators would just be giggling at themselves in their own private screening room at their custom, personalised tv show made only for them. when you give a show to the masses, it is, in certain ways, their's now. so going against everything an audience wants is certainly an interesting move, and since i have a common disease called 'being absolutely befuddled by the varying degrees of human nature' i don't know particularly what their aim is, what they're hoping this will provide an audience, as well as the show as a whole. what i do know however, is that there is not just one kind of audience, within the watchers of the rookie, there is obviously an abundance of angst lovers, an array of fluff lovers, complex think piece people, and apathetic 'this is what i fill the void of a tuesday night with' people (which is potentially what makes up a good portion of the viewers (?), not just the dedicated fandom we see on social media). with this in mind, the creators, the writers, are evidently incapable of satisfying every single diverse/contradictory demographic. so it's unclear which demographic they want to make happy at a given storyline. is this to give the angst lovers what they want? is this to give the comfortable fluff lovers a kick in the rear? or is this just to keep the average viewer interested in this ever-appealing show? i can't speak for them at all so i couldn't say which, but i also haven't a scooby doo. maybe others could give their opinion on which of these they think the creators are aiming for, because i couldnt tell you. then again, maybe it's all of them. maybe we let the rest of the season play out to completion, and we may know for sure. but marketing a show goes hand in hand with keeping the general audience as well as potential new viewers: 1. happy and excited, 2. interested in investing their time into the show. and given that season 6 is a short season: yes, i'm sure the marketing the break up is one of their best bets at keeping ratings up and viewers in, whether it comes directly from outrage or intrigue. and given how some other storylines seem to fall kind of flat (wink wink nol–), especially compared to last season, the initial lucy storylines and the now tim storylines are what is keeping up the hype for such a small season. and i'm sure (hoping) the other characters will have something to add to the s6 plate to further the impact of such a small season and the plots within. but for the most part 'chenford' is such an electric word. drop it in anywhere and the millions(?) who have ever laid eyes on the show just got a shock. and they know that, so of course they'll use it to their advantage in anyway they can.

and with this rambling: one thing i'm sure of, the only thing i'm sure of, is that yes: THEY LOVE EACH OTHER. and not just a slight admiration or a tinge of care. actual undying love. incomprehensible love. i don't know a lot about this topic but i definitely love to aggrandise the concept of love, and especially unto something harmless like fictional characters. in the real world, loving someone isn't always enough for sure. but not loving someone at all can also having no bearing in the upkeep of a relationship (i know this from personal experience). so whether or not two people end up together in real life, has no distinguished rule of 'do this and feel that and you'll be together forever'.

but this is fiction! WE make this stuff up. so we can do whatever we want! we can link A to B and say these characters love each other so they must end up together, and still be flawed along the way, because they are not real. so in my opinion the various ideas like "real relationships have people breaking up", "real relationships have people never getting back together", "real relationships have people never breaking up", and to follow, the incessant "real relationships have good communication!" don't matter anyway because ideas based reality have absolutely no impact in this fictional realm. yes bring in realism, be realistic if you want, but don't let reality dictate your fiction entirely (as well as the inverse). nor should you let reality make you want your fiction to be completely unreal. both fiction and reality have complexity in personality and characterisation. people have personalities and characters have characterisation. the one commonality is imperfection. but just because they are similar doesn't mean they have to be the same. it doesn't mean chenford are realistically doomed. and with this the plot that may unfold could be one unexpected, one unreal, or one completely real. tim and lucy could work through their own storylines, flaws and complexities separately and i'd be glad to see it.

i had a lot of issues with how fan service esque the initial 'canonisation' felt and maybe this is not just to market their show, but to finally listen to the majority of the audience, the particular audience that literally helps them market the show. aka the social media citizens. the ones who talk up a storm about what they love about the show and literally rope others into watching it. maybe they'll finally write them with more specific intentions this time, maybe this is what this is for. not just for drama but to give us what we wanted to watch in the first place but heavily missed out on: pining, feelings, dramatic reconciliation. who knows. we won't. not until the season is over and s7 inevitably comes (it's guaranteed).

i know many become angry with this show about what it does and doesn't do but one thing that helps me survive is this: it doesn't matter, the episodes exist anyway. they will continue to exist even if they don't have what we want. all we can do is feel every feeling this show evokes because that's really what it is to be entertained, at least for me. we're not the creators at the end of the day, no matter how much we've created. if something happens we don't like, we don't like it and we talk about how we don't like it. if we do like it, we talk about how we like it. and we praise the actors anyway, for the characters they bless us with. and the creatives, who gave us the masterpiece that is season 2.

and with that, i conclude. this definitely got away from me like the runaway train in my adhd brain. i wrote this sleepy and fatigued and i think i might be brain dead so if there are contradictions or things that make not a bit of sense feel free to call me out on it! especially those who are more experienced yappers, i'd definitely like to know what you disagree with or think has no place in this piece.

anyway, fin. thank you anon and TLDR; chenford will be fine and the show will always favour exploiting the most loved characters for marketing but with every PR box of ice cream sent and every article written brings in one more viewer to our beloved show and at least we'd stand a chance of a season 10.

hey this might be controversial but what's your thought on tsar nicholas ii? i saw some people particularly the romanov stans basically praise him as saint because the rvsslan orth0d0x church proclaimed him and his family as one. i'm not going to use euphemism, i do think he was a bad leader tho maybe he indeed had other good side as a father and husband. and i read how he was compared to ru55ia's current pres put!n, quoted from the washington post: But as Put!n’s effort to conquer parts of Ukra!ne slogs into its sixth month, some historians feel he more closely resembles Nicholas II, whose 1904-1905 war against Japan was an unmitigated disaster. VP is a dictator and to say the least lol how would you compare these two? i ask you this because i know you're very knowledge on this, at least from the political view, and because you're not (i assume) biased on either side. and sorry for the censors, don't want the key gee bee to knock on your door

Romanov anon hope you are still here, sorry it took me so much time to answer this but here we go. This will annoy a lot of people so putting this below the break since I don't have the energy to deal with anything today. Also this is purely from a political standpoint.

So, I have very conflicting opinions and feelings when it comes to Nicholas and it's kind of funny since both of them are two extremes of a pendulum.

While I have always empathized with what happened to the Tsar and his family. There is a part of me which doesn't seem to like Nicholas. I have always been of the opinion that him and the rulers before him had a very big hand in what eventually happened to them indirectly.

Russia was a broken state when he inherited it, rampant with all problems that you can think of and even from the beginning of his reign the politicial and public opinion had been hostile towards the ruler. And the main cause of this was the autocratic nature of the Russian tsars. They were ultimately the ones with the final say in all decisions in the country. And at a time when people were already suffering the missteps caused by Nicholas proved to be catastrophic and created even more animosity against the tsar's rule.

Talking about the revolution, it didn't just happen one fine day. It was brewing for a long time and the anger people had came out in waves. Now interestingly during the initial waves of revolution, a large section of people were very much ready to compromise with the tsar and his Ministers to establish a more inclusive kind of a governance where they too had a say and to grant them voting rights even if he stayed on. But rather than actually listening to them, Nicholas came under the influence of his Ministers as was usually the case and well we all know what happened.

Now speaking of Nicholas as a ruler, he was a weak ruler and i don't think I can sugarcoat this. When his father passed away, he wasn't ready to take on the role as a tsar. It wasn't because he didn't have the will or had the necessary training. It was simply because he didn't know how to rule. His demeanor played a big role in it too tbh. He was this kind of a gentle and polite person in life and that personality proved to be a challenge when it came to taking hard decisions regarding his court and russia in general. There's actually examples and anecdotes of him not being able to openly come out and give his criticisms or thoughts over certain policy ideas put forward by his courtiers so as not to offend them. Heck he even had problems firing people too from heir positions and often couldn't get himself to tell them openly. Another thing is that he would very easily come under the influence of courtiers and then just go with whatever was being fed to him by them and that never really worked out especially in the precarious situation that Russia was in.

Now having said that, Nicholas was also a kind of a ruler who couldn't for the life of him give up his autocratic behavior. Tsarian autocracy was always a thing yes, but Nicholas didn't understand till what limit he needed to go to make decisions. He had the will needed to rule and that can be seen from him being very involved in every minute aspect of running the kingdom or atleast trying to do that. But what he lacked was the correct direction as a ruler and more importantly having your hands in all the pots never worked out well for anyone. His inability to actually let stuff go was more or less because of the notion that the tsar knows best, he bows down to nobody else etc. This is what ultimately led to his downfall. I have always believed had he actually tried to not be this way maybe the situation would have turned out vastly different.

And this idea that it's the tsar who knows best also led to court political drama since he often tended to dismiss good courtiers if they became too 'popular' of that's the right word to explain the situation and replace them with those who didn't know their head from their feel most of the times. And most importantly at times of crisis Nicholas could not handle the pressure or take concrete steps, I mean look at the way he just changed Prime Ministers during the later stages of his reign to deal with the revolution.

Now having said ALL OF THAT. Was nicholas a good person? Yes, he was and that's quite apparent by the way he was in his private life be it family or just any other aspect of his life. I absolutely appreciate him for the way he was with Alex, being an exceptional husband and father. His demeanor with even those courtiers who he was about to throw out from the court, etc. But all of this can never change the fact that he didn't know how to be a leader. And that's a big cause of what happened. But I'll once again say nothing, absolutely nothing from all this or anything else justifies the way he and his family were so brutally massacred in the end. Nothing will ever justify that.

So in conclusion, I always swing between these 2 aspects while I sympathize with nicholas about what happened, i also blame his political decision making and stands or rather the lack of them for the way the situation deteriorated

Okay first of all... I think Eden is a very fun poly ship material because they have a nice group dynamic but each individual dynamic are a little different, also, the members are very much themselves with each other.

A lot of the times the issue I have with poly ships in fandom is:

the individual relationships within feels too similar and thus their characterizations gets a bit flattened in group dynamic (polystar)

it feels too harem-y (polyundead)

one pairing within takes up too much attention (polyfine)

Polyeden is really great because each combination have pretty distinct dynamic within, so it doesn't get flattened, but when they're all together it's a new harmonious thing, making the whole greater than the sum of its parts.

Okay so in my mind, they were on their way to becoming a stable poly between Conquest and SS. And then... you know... NagiIba problems.

What I really enjoy seeing is seeing Nagisa a little jealous of Jun in Conquest, and then you see him gets closer to Jun in a lot of their smaller idol stories and scout stories. (Nagisa FS2?? POLYEDEN FUEL IT HAS EVERYTHING.)

So how I picture it is NagiHiyo use to be queerplatonic/sibling-ish vibes. NagiIba starts off with their non-romantic dom/sub contract, and their fondness for each other grows gradually throughout their partnership. IbaJun gets on well together.

When HiyoJun officially mutually affirms their relationship like "this is a thing", Nagisa would be the first to know and he'd be drawn in immediately. And then Nagisa and Jun would slowly gently try to invite Ibara in. Hiyori doesn't put as much effort partially because Ibara is his least favorite family member (he still loves him tho lol) but also because if he commits to it he'll be too intense and that'd scare Ibara off. <- Anyway that's where I picture they all are before SS.

Due to personal bias I'm always an Adam stan first and for most. Just... Nagisa's Idol Story 2. Ibara asks Nagisa to evolve his emperor role and he prepares a whole new write-up, Nagisa is reluctant but still humors him, but ultimately asserted himself and decided not to WHILE STILL APPRECIATING IBARA'S EFFORT AND THANKING HIM FOR THE NEW LEARNING OPPORTUNITY, and Ibara was just fine with this and didn't mind at all that his work went to waste, cause Nagisa got to learn something new and develop himself.

THEY'RE SO TENDER AND RESPECTFUL OF EACH OTHER'S BOUNDARIES, ACTUALLY??? A RARITY IN ENSTARS!!! I mean I think this is because they start off with a dom/sub contract, which makes them more boundary conscious. But the way they interact is so tender and careful and loving and they treat each other like something precious.

Just. Ibara being genuinely happy whenever Nagisa learns something.

Nagisa always appreciating Ibara's effort even when he chastise him and disagrees.

You honor they love each other so much.

Anyway can you believe I've never written about Eden ever I really don't know how my inspiration works but they're so precious to me I want them to hold hands.

I just wanted to know your thoughts and opinions on Lewies public speech to mc? It looked a bit disingenuous to me and a bit like he was saying the things he did for show and not because he meant it. But that could just be me and my trust issues ☠️

As a Lewie girl I will stay by his side until he gives me an actual reason to switch or dump, but so far he's been real sweet, caring etc. I'm honestly just a bit worried because I can't lie, after the whole Chloe situation (ie him putting in effort into their date, wearing a new aftershave for their date, him being on the verge of saying something flirty to Chloe but correcting himself when he sees mc is watching and then after their date saying those things even if it was to hype up the scenario to the boys and telling them what they wanted to hear) I find myself questioning him and his loyalty 😭

Lewie has always made me feel secure and like he is a loyal guy but that whole thing rattled me and now I genuinely am scared of going back and him being with another girl 🥲 and I'm also pretty upset he didn't leave with us but that's just me😩

By FAR the least cringey public declaration thing the lis did. In case you don’t know them:

Yeah so we got off lucky with a speech. I actually think it was genuine and pretty cute! 😂

He’s said quite a few times he’s not good with words. I HC he’s got a lot of thoughts and overthinks stuff but doesn’t say a lot, or anything well anyway lmao

again, it’s another thing Farmer Will did on this years winter love island, he did a speech for his girl. So I like to think that was kinda the inspo and he’s not actually just saying everything we wanna hear. He knows he’s fighting off guys for mc at the minute so he wants to go the extra mile.

I’m a delulu loyal Lewie stan but yeah, some stuffs got me questioning and I think that’ll come out on movie night.

One scene in particular that I found super sus was that scene where we’re on a date with Roberto and Ivy says Lewie was flirting with her while mc was gone AND HE DOESNT DENY IT, he just acts dumb

THEN he goes off for a lil walk with her, mc snoops and again he spots us just before a kiss might happen.

I mean, that was early days but I still don’t like it. Ivy says all he could talk about was us on the date but still.

I love him but I’m getting sick of all the lis being written the same way. Some stuff just doesn’t fit with certain characters. Lewie not leaving with us right after his speech and asking to be an unofficial couple and calling us HIS BEST FRIEND does not sit right with me.

You hold out an orange to Kuko, gently requesting him to peel it for you. “Huh? Why do you need me to peel it?” He’s confused by the request and you express to him it’s difficult because of your nails or you don’t like how the rind leaves the citrus scent on your finger tips. He stares at you for a moment before carefully taking your orange and pulling at the outer shell. Kuko was silent as he worked, but he didn’t look bothered by preforming the request. After all, it’s just peeling an orange. With the rind removed, he carefully returned your orange to you. There are parts where juice came leaking through the thin mesh skin due to his roughness, but you could tell he put in his effort to peel it. All because you asked him to.

Or something like that. I think Kuko would want to comment about how you should peel your own orange but he also can’t say no to you heheh. If Jyushi asked him… He’d swat him in the head with a rolled up magazine.

OH MY GOD ROMANTIC ICHIRO VALENTINES AUGHHH HE WANTS ME SO BAD HIM AND HIS DEEP VOICE AND SILLY OUTFITS AGHH!!!! He makes me feel so romantical and I dream of him rapping and I get to watch and cheer him on. Shit I’ll be a background dancer. Omg Rosho bby grl he is honestly a malewife to me. I also kinda like the detail of him refusing to use his accent unless he’s drunk/or pissed cause you can hear it in certain dialogue he has with Sasara which makes me laugh. I was sad for a while but thankfully I wasn’t super far in the game. I did miss Sasara’a birthday… Which I’m not gonna pretend his outfit was acceptable. His friends are fake as hell for letting him walk out of his apartment dressed in HIGHWATERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST PUT THE ORANGE SUIT BACK ON DUDE. AND YES I DID SEE THE HYPMIC AND SANRIO COLLAB AAHHHHH!! Omg seeing Ichiro and Hello Kitty was so amazing because Hello Kitty is my second fave my first is Badtz Maru!! I hope we get Sanrio cards and I hope we get an event!!
