I sure do have a lot of opinions for someone who doesn't like to talk

Fun thing I'm seeing happen in real time is a group of people being completely unable to comprehend the idea that the Cold Badass Mech Suit dude can still be Cold and Badass, even if that mech suit is piloted by a girl. Bc you always kind of see these kinds of things in retrospect or with two completely different characters. It's rare to see this much enthusiasm for a character evaporate overnight.

Like, I get that part of the disconnect is because of how Firefly has presented herself vs how Sam is, and hopefully 2.2 will help meld those two personas, but I also think that most of it is just disappointment that Sam isn't a hot dude lmao.

I've seen so many comments that amount to "I was interested in Sam bc I imagined his backstory as some merciless reluctant killer/he was cool because we didn't know anything about him and now he's not cool anymore (for some undefined reason)." And also, coincidentally, many of these people didn't care for Firefly and her backstory because she wasn't "given enough time" for them to emotionally invest in her. Very interesting, imo, that these two complaints are often put side by side with no further examination.
