So per Jhonen, Irkens don’t really have friends because they’re so focused on their own gratification they just see each other in terms of whether they’re someone they can cooperate with to achieve their goals or someone they’d trample on the way to the snack table.

And I think that’s an interesting angle to consider when writing Red and Purple’s relationship. Like, the two of them bicker a little, but mostly seem to get along and enjoy being co-rulers together. They don’t seem to resent having to share their power or esteem, neither appears to have any desire to be rid of the other in order to have all the glory to themselves. But does that mean they actually care about each other?

I remember when I was a kid on the Nicktoons message board someone once wrote a fanfic or “Zim Zode” as they were called, where one of the Tallest grows slightly taller, and the other one instantly loses their position and the newly solo Tallest immediately drops them like a hot stone. No pity, no regret. Just “Lol, sucks 2 b u” and yeets them off to crash at Zim’s place because they're no longer an equal, just another lowly peasant. And that might not be what RAPR shippers wanna hear, but that feels very on-brand for the show’s cynical tone. Like, Jhonen did a whole episode about how GIR isn’t cute or nice and would turn on Zim in a heartbeat if he weren’t always distracted by food and stray animals. You think he wouldn’t do an episode about how the Tallest are Not Real Friends and have no loyalty to each other whatsoever? Especially since as leaders of the Irken Empire they're supposed to represent everything that's wrong with Irken Society? It's superficial social hierarchy, selfishness, hedonism, sloth, gluttony, entitled elitism, and complete disregard for others?

I know some people get around the "Irkens aren't supposed to love" thing by saying RAPR are just hypocrites who get to ignore the social rules because of their position. But does anybody ever do stories that deal with the idea of what happens when the relationship is no longer easy and convenient? Like how a lot of people leave school or a job or move away and their friendships/romances just completely fizzle out because one or both parties weren't willing to put in the work to maintain it when they weren't already in proximity to each other by circumstance? Or how two people can hang out and enjoy each other's company, but when one person goes through a rough time the other person doesn't want to be there for them, they're only there for the fun times? Or how so-called friends can backstab each other the moment their interests are in conflict and won't lift a finger for one another if it requires any sacrifice or compromise?

What about stories where they betray and abandon each other because that's what they think they're supposed to do. It'd be considered aberrant to not put their own interests ahead of anyone else's. And yet, they feel unpleasant. But these feelings are so foreign and confusing and contradictory to Irken nature they can't even recognize them as guilt and regret.

★ Understandable, you would be friends with an alien. He likes you because you don't ask to many questions. When you do it's usually on topic for the conversation, like when you asked if he could digest chicken nuggets.

★ Before he considered you a friend, his paranoia about you secretly working for Dib- or even Tak lead him to keep tabs on you. Untill he could prove that you don't work for his enemies.

★ He isn't really interested in the magical objects you keep around. Unless it can be useful to him, but that's only if the object can hurt someone or has some kind of curse that he can weaponize.

★ Gone is the master lock you use for security, he replaced it with a fingerprint lock. You bribed him into making the upgrade for you by offering him some broken alien tech in exchange.

Dib

★ You're the only person other than Gaz who believes that Zim is a alien. Be prepared for him to info dump about the irken race. You are probably the first (willing) person to hear him talk about it, so please listen.

★ Your shack in the backyard is his own personal heaven. It's not to shabby either, you installed fairy lights on the inside. He takes the initiative to catalog everything you keep in there.

★ He keeps notes on what you have and the stories behind it. Each object has its own story behind it, by now you must have plenty of good stories. He'd love to listen to you talk about your experiences.

★ I can see you keeping a baseball bat inside the shack for safety reasons. Dib will always remember the time you hit Zim in the stomach with said baseball bat. It was his own fault for shouting in your ear.

Gaz

★ She might "borrow" some stuff from your shack. It comes in handy when she gets into a fight with Dib and needs something to terrorize him. Emotionally damaging people is okay when it's your sibling!

★ When you get into trouble with cursed objects or haunted dolls she only helps you if she might get to see a ghost or some other undead creature. It's the goth in her. She seemed like the kind of person to own a ouija board.

★ Naturally, you've learned differently ways to fight supernatural and paranormal things. Gaz now knows how to banish a demon and that you should never invite talking animals inside your house.

★ The talking animal incident will not be discussed. Let's just say that vampires are on your list of most hated cryptids.

Ok. Starting up with you, @luckynumber4, definetely dark or navy blue. I think it's because of your blog aesthetic but really, the url also fits and I love it.

@next-autopsy is emerald green. It's the color she uses on her fic and I cannot see Nex without thinking of that color anymore.

@xxluckystrike i think you remind me of gold. Like, golden flower fields; your personality definetely makes me think of that.

@malarkgirlypop is seafoam OR pink (that really strong one almost radioactive.) The seafom is because it simply fits her so fucking well??? Goes amazingly with her hair too. And the pink is because of her personality. She's just so radiant and catches your attentionwithouteven trying. Love it.

@land-sh is definetely wine. Yes its because of the blog. Fight me.

@sweetxvanixlla is this color: 🩵. Its an emoji she always uses and I cannot see this color anymore and not think of her; just amazing.

@georgieluz is lavander. That's it. He makes me think of it and I love that.

Dib "That came out wrong. It's good to see you. It's just-- I... I spent SO much energy and resources on this ghost hunting project and it fell apart the second I set up my equipment."

Nny "It's fine. Everyone is on edge, I've noticed."

Dib "My dad was right YET again. Buying this house was a bad investment. At least Todd and Pep seem happy here."

Nny "Except the marital drama. Is that an ongoing thing with them lately or-?"

Dib "They've been at it for over a week. There's no drowning it out, just to warn you."

Nny "Am I to understand, you scrapped the whole project and sold this house to Squee?"

Dib "Yeah, if you're the only ghost that's going to show up, may as well scrap the whole fucking project. Make yourself at home. By the end of the month, we'll be gone and Pep and Todd will be out of town."

Nny "I mean, I'm on board with Squee buying this place off you, for selfish reasons obviously, but that's a huge loss on your end, isn't it? Wouldn't you rather stick it out at least another year?"

Dib "Not really worried about the money. I can blink twice at the lab and make up the hit to my savings."

Nny "Rich kid problems."

Dib "This was supposed to be a father and son project. This was a dream of mine, but if Reg doesn't want to live here and ghost hunt with me then what's the point? I just don't get it. A year and a half ago, that kid would have been so excited about working on something like this. What the Hell is happening?"

Nny "Reg is...?"

Dib "My son."

Nny "YOU have a kid?"

Dib "You met him at Todd's wedding."

Nny "The fuck?"

Dib "You do remember we're all in our 30's now, right?"

Nny "Sorry, my short term and long term memory is still screwed. That and in my head you guys are perpetually children-- Wait, if Squee's in his 30's that would make me almost..." *gags* "Oh g-*gag*; let's move on."

Dib "You have missed a lot. It's been a while since the last big Summerween get-together. Things get screwed up more and more each year. Maybe this was just my last ditch effort to keep us all together. I don't know. Who cares? I'm calling it. The investigation is off."

Nny "I'm still learning how to fit into this whole family dynamics thing, so I can't give any helpful advice on the subject. That's... that's rough though. Um... The bugg-oid alien in the guest bedroom; is he staying?"

Dib "No, Zim's moving back to the city with me."

Nny "Thank God. I'm taking his room when you leave."

Dib "So thrilled. Hey, I have a question and... feel free to answer with brutal honesty."

Nny "Ok, but I'm holding you to that."

Dib "Do you consider me a bully?"

Nny *shrugs* "Never personly met a bully who cared if they were perceived as a bully and you look out for Squee, which is all I care about, so I'm going to say... no?"

Dib "Thanks. Appreciate that."

Nny "Since we're on the subject, do you think I'm depraved enough to stab a baby?"

Dib "Um-- I mean, I know you've stabbed a hand full of pregnant women and dozens of teens so-"

Nny "Seriously?! You wouldn't trust me to keep an eye on your kid without killing him either?"

Dib "I wouldn't trust you to keep an eye on a pet rock without killing it, man."

i do have an au i am working on, though i think ill make a separate post for that, right now ill just talk about headcanons!!

disclaimer that u dont have to agree with any of my headcanons, this is just how i see them personally, and there are times when i draw them older, but that's only really for aus or something

also, giving young kids sexualities isnt sexualizing, kids can know when they like boys or girls more, or both! <3

DIB

dib is about 14 when i draw him (probably like 13 and 9 months old, still a baba)

5'0 in height

mexican

he is autistic! his hyper-fixations are aliens, and cryptids in general, i would like to think he also fixates on technology, and building things

the headphones i draw him in are sensory headphones! theyre just noise cancelling but they help him a lot!

he is trans FtM, but since hes young hes just on hormone blockers and practices deep voices and stuff, which is why his voice is still high, but still masc (he/him)

in the show i know he does hack into things, but i like to think he also programs a lot! he makes a lot of stuff for his own use, like for his computer he made a program that helps him keep all his personal info on zim, it has a password and everything so no one tries stealing anything

he has anger issues, not major ones, but he does get mad a lot and easily, he usually calms down by napping or watching supernatural documentaries

he draws a lot more than you think! i know theres silly doodles across his room, but i like to think he has a binder full of all his drawings that arent on his walls or anything, hes a weird kid, so hed probably draw like zims gut anatomy or something

he tries playing the guitar, hes not the worst at it, he just cant play a full song without messing up at least once

he has paranoia, its hard for him to sleep usually, so that's why he's almost always tired, when he cant sleep he stays up trying to find more stuff on zim!

he prefers tea over coffee! while he does love coffee, i like to think he drinks tea more cause of prof membrane, and he doesn't complain about it, his favorite tea is black tea!

i like to think that he knows he's not straight but just doesn't know what he is, he says omni whenever someone asks, but he doesn't really know

he loves, and i mean LOVES gir so much that he gets kinda upset that he cant have his own sir(?) unit, i mean who doesnt

his briefcase is actually a case for his laptop that he just uses as a briefcase at times, sometimes his laptop is in there sometimes its not, depending on what he's set out to do

ZIM

when i draw zim, i personally see him around the age 14-15 (14 and 9 months at least) still a baba

4'11 in height

zim has adhd, though on irk its just seen as him having trouble in a lot of things, or just as a defect, it doesn't bring him down though!

though zim is young, he did go through invader training because of how irkens are made just to be weapons and/or invaders

he used to be a scientist for the irken empire, but quickly got excluded from being one due to messing around and messing up a lot of valuable equipment, the turtle neck was kept from being a scientist as a kind of punishment to "remember what he did" but he just thinks it looks cool

he was never given limb enhancers like the other invaders cause he isn't a real invader, so he thought hed make his own cause he though maybe they just forgot to give him some, it does have a bit more advances than the regular invader one, since they're not allowed to enhance or add onto their enhancers without given permission

zim cant eat many earth foods, but he also cant eat many irk foods, , not cause of allergies, but because of his sensory issues, its hard for him to eat in general (his safe food is waffles!!)

irkens dont have genders, mainly prefered pronouns in which zims are he/it

he made his own hearing aid cause of how much it was pushed off on irk, no one really believed that irkens can be born with defects like that unless their antennas are damaged (only his right antenna is mostly deaf)

he sees gir as his little brother more than he sees him as a sir unit, he doesn't know the term brother, but knows he cares more about gir than anything else even if he finds him annoying

he forgets things, a LOT, in the comic i think its funny how fast he forgets things or pushes things aside, but i like to think he just, actually forgets that fast, even if he tries to remember it

like dib, he doesnt really know his sexuality, mostly cause of how irkens don't have genders, or don't really have the concept of genders in their head, so he just also thinks he's omni, with a masc pref

i like to think he has more of a over bite, but when he's not paying attention he sometimes puts his bottom row of teeth over his lips, just as a little fidget, or just does it while biting the skin off his lips (if irkens have lips?? idk probably not visible ones)

he is still growing, height wise, but when he's older his hight wont be the tallest, probably a few inches or so

GAZ

gaz is 11 and a half (11 and 6 months) she is also, a baba

5'0 in height, suck it zim

mexican

she has adhd as well, fixated on games and pigs

her safe food is pizza!! she loves eating it with her dad and dib, they just like being able to spend time with all of them even if she messes with dib a lot

she likes cryptids to a degree, also isn't as obsessed as dib is, just thinks that only SOMETIMES they're interesting

she tells dibs to make hacks for her in games, and even tells him to make games or addons for games, she usually plays the games dib makes for like a day and then never again

along with the guitar, she can play the drums! she likes playing them while dibs trying to sleep or nap

she is a lesbian and a demigirl! (she/they)

they have a lot of stuff for stress reliving in her room, like a punching bag and a LOT of pillows to punch, she sometimes puts a picture of dibs face on the punching bag, but its not as good as the real thing

she doesnt hate dib, she wont mind if he holds her hand while they walked home or hugged her from time to time, she just likes tormenting him cause its funny

she prefers coffee over tea, which is why they have coffee at their house, she prefers it over tea but would still drink tea if they had some, plus prof membrane basically makes them drink it at times, she prefers her coffee black, but wont mind it being super sweet either

the necklace that her dad gave her actually has a tracker in it incase she ever gets lost, they never get lost cause they're mostly at home, but just incase

she thinks zim is interesting, they think its interesting how he is and how it even got to earth, but she cant be bothered to find out, all she knows is that he's annoying

gaz is sort of blind, they have hyperopia (far-sighted) she does have glasses but only uses them if they really need to, she doesnt wanna look like a nerd like dib

she usually cuts her hair by themself, mostly cause of how when they go get it cut they usually give her a bob instead of what they wanted

probably prefers punk, goth, and emo over scene, but still admires others who can pull it off

has a little case for their game slave! its like a little bag, shes always sure to have it on themself so shes never bored

GIR

gir has no real age mostly cause of how hes a robot, but i like to think theyre always seen as a child, 8 years old to be exact

gir is autistic coded!

3'5 in height

they have no gender as well, obviously, but do have "preferred" pronouns (it usually gets called by it/they/he)

he really does care about zim and his mission, it just has a lot of trouble focusing on it, or functioning right, since theyre literally made of garbage

his sir unit build is the same as mimis (taks sir), but just defected with misprints and messed up parts, thats why he has prints in the same place as mimi, just messed up

adding onto that, he doesnt have the same big arm as mimi on his left, both his arms are from the builds that regular invaders have

a lot of his parts float, his arms can still extend and move freely, its just that they float , there is a sertain extent where if they go too far they just detach or recoil back to the body, they only detach if zim needs to fix anything on gir

a lot of his body can be detached, almost every single part, he can either still be sentient while they do, or be turned off

zim actually made girs disguise, like handmade, so it has different shades of green scattered around on it, its obviously fake, but people fall for it

the blue color on him changes depending on how he feels, usually its just other shades of blue (ex. dark blue for sad, bright blue for happy/excited, a little duller blue for neutral, you get it) , but when he actually takes orders is when he turns a different color (red)

a lot of the foods he eats can actually turn into fuel for him, depends on what it is, if its chips, soda, slushies, donuts, or any foods that would be on irk as well, will most likely be transferred into energy for him, if its foods like pizza, tacos, or just anything thats specific to earth, it will most likely get jammed into his system, to where zim has to clean almost all the time

a lot of his system is messed up, but zim fixed it up a bit, he doesnt know what causes gir to be crazy and silly and just the way he is, but he feels like it wont feel right if gir was just a normal sir unit

ill probably come back to this to add or fix some stuff if i ever feel the need to, but for now these are all the headcanons i have for them!! these are either adding onto or just new ones that werent on the refs i made for them, so yeah!! again this is just how i see them, you dont have to agree or anything

Here are my personal designs for the Almighty Tallests Miyuki and Spork! When I was designing these two, I had the urge to make Miyuki look beautiful and elegant, and Spork look dorky and cute. Also, yes, I went with shades of for Miyuki and shades of green for Spork, as my originality level is at zero 🤣

Also, in my personal AU, these two aren't dead, they actually faked their deaths (A la Pink Diamond), since they didn't want to rule the empire with a cruel hand, now they're both married to each other on some uncharted oasis planet together.

Now here's some info about these two!

Tallest Miyuki:

Beautiful, majestic, elegant, flawless. These are just some of the words used to describe the radiant Tallest Miyuki

Almighty Miyuki was once the tallest Irken in existence, standing at a whopping 9'8".

Miyuki was the sole Tallest for over 300 Earth years.

Before she became a Tallest, Miyuki worked in the Smeeteries, and her kindness made her loved and adored by many.

Commander Staria used to be Miyuki's pupil, and ever since she was a small Irken Smeet, she looked up to her and admired her in every single way. Miyuki thought Staria was adorable and full of potential, that's why she took her under her wing. When she was a Smeet, Staria used to playfully hide in the fur around Miyuki's neck on her armor, but she didn't mind. When Staria moved on to the Academy, she did everything to make Miyuki proud, by conquering planets, defeating enemies, you name it. Others envied Staria since she was Miyuki's favorite, but she didn't care, all she cared about was making her Tallest happy.

Despite being powerful, Miyuki was known to be kind and fair, compassionate and forgiving, but was strict when she needed to be.

She was the Tallest who formed the alliance with the Vortians, and after her "death", and during "The Trial", Invader Vira told the Tallest it was the Vortians who made Zim create the blob, in a last-ditch effort to save Zim (which worked), thus ruining the peace treaty between Irk and Vort.

Miyuki owned many dangerous alien species as pets during her reign, and after her "death", all her pets were brought to a sanctuary in honor of her.

The Irken Empire was actually much more peaceful when Miyuki was ruling over it.

It was planned that Miyuki and Spork would be engaged after he was made Tallest. This remained true because after they faked their deaths, they fled to another planet that was off the intergalactic charts and were soon married.

Miyuki is voiced by Lisa Hannigan, who voices Blue Diamond in Steven Universe.

Tallest Spork:

Just like Miyuki, Tallest Spork was known to be kind and compassionate, but he was also very intelligent, but also very cautious and uncertain.

Spork was the second tallest Irken in existence, standing at 9'4".

Before he became Tallest, he was once an Irken scientist, and Blix used to be his apprentice, and he continued to serve under Spork even when he became the Tallest.

There were rumors that Spork was half-Vortian, but this was never confirmed publicly.

He and Miyuki already had the plans and charts set for their escape, so Spork was only a stand-in Tallest until he faked his death on Devastis.

Even if the plans had failed, Spork already had future plans set for the empire.

Spork also had a fondness for plants and would often study and grow different flora discovered on multiple other planets.

Though it seems like it was an arranged marriage, Spork and Miyuki actually genuinely loved each other, and the Control Brains had to prepare a Union Ceremony (which is basically an Irken Wedding) for the two of them so they could rule the Empire together, but that was botched after the blob "incidents".

Once fleeing to the oasis planet with Miyuki, Spork remembered to bring a lot of his advanced tech so they could construct their new home/base together.

He tends to stutter a lot when talking.

Spork is voiced by Alex Brightman, who voices Puglsey in Dead End: Paranormal Park.

This is gonna be purely self indulgent and that's that!

Invader Zim/Warframe crossover

(Please note I do not want any Warframe Spoilers! I've seen a few but I'm starting The Sacrifice quest soon as my Mirage Frame is back to max. Beware! If you are around Chains of Harrow or before there may be spoilers below!)

The Void is a weird thing right? You can get Void Fissures in the Void! This leads me to believe that the Void itself is a place between not just the worlds in the warframe universe, but other realities and dimensions, even other versions of the Void itself!

So what if during a mission during the Old War, a Couple Tenno ended up on irk? They land to the south in a tropical land near a much smaller Hive. Let's say, Volt, Mirage, and Octavia are the frames that land along with their tenno piloting them. (If it made sense I would have included Nidus too but the Infestation is not something I'm gonna touch on till later. Nidus was my first Prime!)

The hive: Simply called Home by the small community to reside there, they have a sickly Tallest

1. The Hive is heavily isolated in the center of a massive and highly dangerous jungle. If the predators don't get you, the plants or weather will. Many drones joke they only survived due to their green Thumbs.

2. The Hive's most common genetic mutations and appearances are muddy brown and green patterned skin and dull flower colored eyes. Their antenna are barely longer than a few inches in length, and long antena are seen as exotic. Bright leaf green skin with white vine and root like markings is very uncommon, but seen as incredibly beautiful.

3. Their Tallest at the time, during the early years of the second Era, was very sickly. Tallest Pop had contracted an immune system degenerative disease from an insect bite as a child. Many were surprised he survived to his current age. Pop is technology focused and desperately wishes to leave his hive with something positive to remember him by.

The Tenno: None of the tenno, when they first arrive, have the Post War Within Abilities as they arrive and get stranded during the midst of the Old War.

Volt: Volt's tenno is a mother Hen of a young man. He is always nagging his partners to take better care of themselves but never listens to his own advice. Tye often overworks himself and, to the surprise of the Orokin, has run his frame into a low power state. Tye loves his Kubrow Icarus or Icky for short. His name is Tye and he specializes in offensive guerrilla tactics. Tye is Wren's twin.

Mirage: Mira is Mirage's Tenno, She is blind outside her frame, and severely near sighted in Mirage. Mira often jokes about her eyesight and her frame ever has a device simular to glasses. She is the joking type and often jolly and positive in any situation. Loves plushies. Mira specializes in Stealth missions and Crowd control.

Octavia: Wren, Octavia's Tenno, is impulsive and reckless. They adore music and make a new song on their Mandachord every chance they get. A Punk rocker at heart, Wren does not like being ordered to do things, but listens to Tye more often than anyone else. Wren is Tye's twin and specializes in defense and distractions.

The full idea:

Sometime in the middle of Pop's reign in this tiny Hive Pop began a personal project with his favorite drones. All friends from his smeethood, the group of 4 sought to find away to safely and reliably through the jungle to initiate trade.

Their experiments discovered a strange space between space. Curious and thrilled they could possibly move untouched through this Void, Pop and his friends dove into research and testing.

Before long they believed they had a path for their carts to traverse. But before the first drones could go the systems they were using to hold the portal steady instead glitches.

Someone, the Man in the Wall, had seen them and decided to send 3 tenno who were currently working in the Void to the Irkens. To see what happened. It threw Tye, Mira, and Wren through the portal, armed to the teeth, then shut the way behind them.

Wren, being the Defense expert, quickly realizes they are not under attack, and that these people are as confused and scared as them.

Once informed of this Tye and Mira disarm with Wren and Tye initiates contact

It takes time to get over the language barrier but they manage to do so

Pop explains what his goal had been

In turn Tye, Mira and Wren explain a little about the Void.

"Look, it sounds nice to use the Void to travel but... ah. Personal experience states otherwise. Don't." Is all Tye has to say in regards to Void travel.

Pop doesn't want to give up though, and the Void has been the only option the tiny Hive has had to travel for a Loooong time.

I want to be clear they do not know the Tenno are not their Warframes, the Hive assumes the tenno are a race of Biomechanical individuals with strange powers

Through a series of events I haven't fully figured out the Hive gets drones, suits and animal companions simular to what the Tenno had

The Hive finally makes a track through their jungle of terror, reaching the outside world and establishes a trade route and relations with others

Many Hives are astounded by Hive Tenno (When asked the name of their Hive a Warrior panicked and called themselves Hive Tenno) their tech was beyond any other Hive at the time

Collapsible weapons, Power armor suits with built in illusions, pet monsters no other would even try to tame!

Many Hives near the jungle fought to either ally with Hive Tenno, or steal their tech, they all failed to muscle their ways in

And to top it off, Tallests of all genders vied for Pop's hand to merge armies. Pop refused them all, dedicated solely to building his Hive to a level of comfort they didn't have before

All the while the Tenno remained hidden

The three remained with Hive Tenno (Wren thought the name was hilarious) but they never joined any battlefield nor any talks. All tech gained from their help was kept under tight guard

And the existence of the Tenno themselves kept themselves a secret from all but Hive members.

Pop lived an unexpectedly long life for how sickly he was. Before he died the last law he set, one that no tallest of the Hive would over turn, was for the Tenno to have Veto rights and be included in all major Hive decisions. But more so, that they were Citizens of the Hive, to be treated not as outsiders or weapons, but fellow Irkens

Becoming citizens the Tennongot to pick up careers and hobbies while maintaining their duties to the Hive

Tye chose to work with smeets and the Animals the Hive had tamed. Teaching the youngest and ensuring they lived healthy, happy lives, and ensuring all who wanted one had a loyal animal companion like his Kubrow. It was a job made for Tye.

Wren took to the kitchens, cooking and creating in a way they hadn't ever been able to. While they adored their music, it was all they were allowed to do for so long, they took to cooking and baking like fish to water.

Mira bounced about between jobs and hobbies often. A jack of all trades, Master of None, she happily filled what ever job she was needed for.

The Hive flourished and expanded throughout the second Era. But as the Final world War came Hive Tenno feared

By then the three were beloved members of their community, but with impending destruction on the horizon, the three tenno were reluctantly and without anyone asking, preparing to wage war against the world for their new home.

The Hive closed their borders, helping pull the jungle back into a wall of carnivorous plants and furious predators they hand raised. But it wasn't enough

The war still came, and while their tech was still ahead of the crowd's own, they had to fight hard to remain and the Tenno were going to show themselves as the weapons the Orokin had told then they were. The Hive mourned their friends and family as they prepared

Then a scientist had an idea

The Hive took to the stars. Separating the jungle and the entirety of their subterranean Hive from the ground of Irk, Hive Tenno flew off in a bubble to find a new home far far away from irk

Centuries down the line the long hidden Hive would be found, settled neatly in a mountain valley on a distant planet by the Resisty.

Hive Tenno changed in the time between their departure from Irk and Modern time

The Vine and root patterns once uncommon was now a constant, each one glowed a blinding white. The antenna were far more varied, some resembling Jester hats, Others Horns, and others still had multiple antenna sprouting from the same base.

The tech of modern Hive Tenno is still ahead of the rest of their race. The Suits they first built were more intense, much closer to the Warframes The Tenno inhabited

The animals they raised were so loyal now, many left their smeets in the care of their family unit's pet.

And the Tenno themselves had gotten some upgrades.

The Hive found a way for the Tenno to use their transference to inhabit special tube born Irken bodies. Empty bodies with a small special Pak for the Tenno. They could, eat, live, breath and leave the Second Dream at will. Wren was in their Irken body the most, with Mira preferring her warframe mostly.

About the making Zim either just one dimensional villain or a misguided good guy: Besides the (like you said) he is not easy to get right, I think it also comes down to how some people are not aware things like people can bullies and bullied at the same time. (I was and I am not proud of it. I had really similar personality as Zim, but I also shared some traits with Dib and Gir.) So they try to squeeze them into only one of the roles, resulting the character loosing its complexity. I remember watching a video and the reviewer shot down the "these characters are mutually abusive to each other" take, because according to her "abuse survivors can't be abusive, because they wouldn't want other people to go through the same horrible experiences". I get where is she coming from, but that's not always true.

Also: I think most of your Zims are characterized well, since they are still not good people and you don't make them for not responsible for their actions. He isn't justified by the narrative and Dib is not afraid to call him out. And he still has his delusions about the Tallests in the main au, so it doesn't follow the "Zim finally realized he was being tricked" formula, it's more of an unspoken agreement beetween people letting Zim have the cake and eat it too. Yeah, he is still totally working for the Empire and also lives a domestic family life, nothing weird here! xD I just think it's funny how everybody knows they need to let him have this for the peace. And you also have some darker aus too, so it's not just fluff. So I appreaciate your Zim overall. There is one thing I don't agree about the characterization, but I still find it funny on it's own right, and it is excuted well, and I understand why you see that aspect that way. :)

Gonna actually answer this one properly bc yeah, sometimes things are mutually unhealthy, and people who are hurt can sometimes go on to hurt others. Certainly not always, but sometimes. How Zim reacts to the world is a product of his environment growing up as well as his personality and convictions- it's part of why human Zims are really, really hard to nail, because it's so hard to replicate what made him Zim to begin with. I'm proud of swap Zim bc I think I got pretty close, considering.

Yeah, he chills slightly over time but he still believes in the Empire- the Tallests (Red in particular) actually said 'keep going with your weird baby mission thing as long as it keeps you all the way over there on Earth', so his 'secret mission' has been still left intact, although over the years the efforts to actually conquer fell more to 'I had an idea and I want to see if it works/I want to make something that annoys me go away/I want to impress Dib or Twix'. He does still try to take over fully on occasion though, and by this point Dib is just 'whelp, if he actually does it, it's not like it'd make anything that much worse.'

Hey, since he is such a complicated little bug, it makes sense nobody would agree on everything, and I think that's good, it leads to more interesting discussions as long as we can all respect each other!

Alexandria is just a fucked up gremlin version Snow White, but she's not wishing for a prince, she was wishing for a family and we see her during the happily ever after

So I have labeled this project Space temporarily. Still working on Being Fired, but I want to rewatch IZ for that first and just haven't done it yet.

As of now I've got three solid characters for Space with arcs and themes. This is gonna be a long term project with a different approach from anything else I've tried to write so far. I want it to be an ensemble cast, but I wanna get a good idea of who everyone is and what their arc could be first.

For solid characters I have Zsolt, desperate for validation and running from his past. He's a mechanic/maintenance/occasional pilot for the ship. Incredibly Zim inspired. A bit of Jack Spicer too. Pathetic theater villain my favorite kinda character, I'm gonna give him something! The perpetual nature of these characters hurts me and that's what draws me to Chack or PRaZr. I want them to just get a win for once and I know just giving them the love of those they idolize isn't the way to go about it and doesn't really make a good story on it's own, but it's gets the itched scratched. Doesn't hurt that the Tallest are my favorites in IZ and Chase is pretty high on the list Xiaolin Showdown either. But that's not really the direction I think this needs to go. It could eventually but definitely not during the main arc. I will probably give Zsolt an idol that dismisses and possibly despises them, but he won't learn from finally get their love. He's going to work through his issues. His mask will be shattered and he's going to have to face what's left underneath. Failure and self loathing

Krys, basically just Krysa but merged with another character of mine named Crow. She's the ship's captain and she does a bit of everything, but often overlaps with Zsolt's duties cause it's the stuff she enjoys the most. Her main thing is she's what's keeping the ship together, from being a peacekeeper for the crew to finding out where and how they're going to get the resources they need to stay afloat. She's got a lot on her plate and some pretty well hidden trust issues that totally aren't going to become a problem later. A bit Cale inspired, but I've also started injecting her with some of my personal issues. Aside from that she's just a culmination of shit load of recurring traits from my characters throughout the years.

I have so many red head girl characters with fucked up lives and an odd amount of them are makers. All of them isolated in some way, often involving parental death or murder, and frequently missing body parts and I'm definitely gonna have to dig into the why of that with Krys. They're often also completely out of place in their current environments too, but they've dug out a little hole for themselves nonetheless. Often from a fallen civilization and now aimlessly wondering a new one. Look I've made this connection before, but I've never really dug into it and I think I really need to.

Looking at Maliph I've always been far more aware of what parts of me I put into her. But not for Maka or Crow or Muryuim or Red or C or Krysa (and those are only the ones I can remember off the top of my head.) A big through line with all these characters and more is this unyielding curiosity, a level of education and learning I simply don't have. A confidence I've never had, despite the hell they've been through. I think Maliph is a character I just need to say fuck it with and write about with out caring about the flaws of her/his world. Without censoring myself. But that's got nothing to do with Space, that's just a character I was unconsciously working out a lot of stuff with. There is another through line with Maliph and Krysa (not necessarily Krys tho) that sticks out to me that I really really don't wanna think about. I think I'm gonna have to do some deep self reflection there, but not now.

The third character despite having an arc and a theme, I have no name for. Or design but considering they're a shape shifter I think that's excusable for now. For now I'm calling them Shifty. Alex is gonna pick them up, but I'm not quite sure what their role on the ship will be yet. An outsider and outcast like most of the others, but unlike them it's because of the paranoia and panic around the very idea of shape shifter. They've always tried to blend into their surroundings for safety. Where Zsolt pleads for acknowledgement, Shifty pleads for anonymity to be unseen, unnoticed. To just be allowed to survive. They don't know who they are and think they never will. All they want is a place they can just breathe. Humans are very rare in the part of the Galaxy they're in, but they are known about. After being confronted one too many times by those of the species he is pretending to be, he takes on the form of a human, so they have an easy excuse for any odd behaviors. When he mets Alex after while looking for a way off planet. (Not sure if I'm gonna leave Alex human, but if she is she's wearing her mask so he doesn't know) Inspired by Beast Boy, Nimona, and Maliph. They might not be as solid as I was thinking. Identity, dysphoria, alienation, dehumanization

Then there's Alex and Krill, but Alex's Snow White thing probably happens before the story and she's pretty well adjusted so I don't have much of an arc for her yet (maybe something about learning to accept things without feeling indebted to someone for it or being a bit too transactional in her thinking?). Krill. I don't know yet. He's kinda a pure evil character and while most of the main cast do fall into the criminal category, none are as heinous or remorseless as Krill. Alex is a pocket full of sunshine. Krill is a monster in almost every sense of the word. He's there out of necessity. And once Krys invited the devil in she knew she had little chance to get him out again. But luckily he's willing to play by her rules. For now at least.

I think I'm gonna use the Purple analysis (Tallest analysis really, can't do one without the other given how they are treated as a unit in the show, plus contrast and all that) as an excuse to finally learn how to write an essay.

I have come down with a sickness, but am doing pretty well. My brain's been on overdrive with possibilities! And insomnia. And story crafting!

I've figured out a partial plan on studying for that test I've been actively avoiding for years. (Essays. Curse you essays.)

He was pushing my limit for some time. Dark Reign itself wasn't all that fun to me. Spider-man had little involvement. All the protagonists are villains on a team playing lets trigger the madman. Loki won the game and Asgard got destroyed. Personally I think it would have worked better as a Parody. Perhaps an adult take on Invader Zim? Darkness-induced apathy is the word Tv tropes used for it. People remember Dark Reign as that one time Marvel tried and failed to make Norman Osborn their take on Lex Luthor. I remember it as them never trying. Marvel realized Tony Stark hadn't been seen as the hero in Civil war by a vast majority of the readers. Now they need someone who he can compare favorably against. Incidentally, Spider-man's well-known arch had a well-received run in the Thunderbolts. Would you know what? He's corporate too! He's perfect. They put him through a trauma congo line, making it clear on no uncertain terms that he was the inferior to Tony Stark and hoped people would accept Iron man back because look at how much worse this other loser is! He is the living breathing definition of incel defined evil chad and Charlie Brown. They rarely tried to show him succeeding. Most successes were initiated by other villains. Writers often conveniently forgot he had super powers and it was only through the heroes good nature that he didn't die. The event could have ended earlier so many times. People didn't care. They were annoyed Marvel had the creative bankruptcy to use a Lex Luthor stand-in who had teamed up with a superman expy to put everyone in Avengers costumes. It was annoying they didn't put him out of the collective misery. There were good moments but like Clone Saga his involvement is remembered more successfully than it deserved.

When I talk about extension, I mean how villains bring out certain responses in their heroes that will be explored. They are often an extension of their heroes as you can tell which franchise comics value more when a villain beats another villain in a fight when they do crossovers. After Dark Reign I could no longer deny the character had no real personality so I didn't care about him as a character beyond what can do as a villain. Ousting the Otto Octavius insert was a plus but it didn't feel deserved because Sport didn't want to focus on his favorite character losing. We knew Peter Parker was eventually coming back so the removal of the serum felt like a more notable win.

First impression:

This is a hard one bc my first impression was from 2009, but I thiiiiiink beyond the initial "WOW ITS INVADER ZIM" hype my impression must have been something like thinking Raz is cool and funny? One of the earliest drawings I can remember doodling of him were Raz surrounded by the hand of galochio and Raz reading his camp pamphlet while sittin on a lev ball so I can assume my fascination with him did start at "he's got some interesting issues going on" even if I wasn't particularly good at expressing these thoughts or thinking too hard about him at the time.

Impression now:

What a fun, stellar kid character. He's funny, he's a little stinker, he's dedicated to what he believes in, he makes mistakes, he both acts wise beyond his years and just like a 10 year old. He's a wonderful protagonist and I think he's truly the heart of what makes the game shine, he has a heart and humor he brings into the levels that I think the games would be lacking without.

Favorite moment:

There's soooo many great moments with Raz... hard to pick a favorite! But I think a moment where Raz, the boy, shines is when he's first meeting the mote of light. Here he is standing in front of the remnants of this person that to him is some random nobody from Otto's brain bin, and his first instinct is to talk gently, and follow him around, and figure out a way he could help. He isn't even actively trying to in that moment, but he exemplifies the qualities of a true psychonaut (in Hollis' terms) there quite wonderfully.

Plus that moment really lets the character animation shine because all there is to work with is Raz, a Light Source, and a big Empty Black Box. His character animation is absolutely spectacular.

Idea for a story:

I think Raz bonding with his family could make for some sweet post-game story material!

Unpopular opinion:

I don't think Raz would ever unlock a maligula type fight or flight complex unless some INCREDIBLY non-canonical shit happened to him. Raz has insane mental defenses, which I'm sure will only get better with age, while Lucy's major weakness was that she had the mental defenses of a wet tissue due to her time opening her mind with her friends. It also just feels like it in some way misses the point of what an utter, huge and personally specific tragedy Maligula is for Lucy. Maligula is a part of her, not just anybody.

Favorite relationship:

Raz and his Father's bond has always gotten me to go 🥺 I've thought about the ending to the first game a lot and what it meant for a game to take Raz's dad and say "he's not evil, he's just a parent who's made some mistakes that Raz is justified in being mad about but they're still mistakes that can be rectified with time"

Augustus' dialogue with Raz in the second game is also all incredibly sincere and cute, "we psychics understand each other, right?" hits me good

Favorite headcanon:

His goggles help block out bright lights and his helmet blocks out sound because he's got sensory issues

First off - this episode is the only IZ-related thing to name a TvTropes trope! The trope's rather predictably about when someone gets a pimple and everyone treats it as something horrible. It's just called "Rise of Zitboy", though, which gave me problems with remembering the actual episode title for a while.

Secondly, I just have to bring up the bacon in the soap :D

- Zim had to take off a wrapper. GIR went to a LOT of trouble to get that bacon in there

- remember how gir almost always has a pig (live or rubber) with him? what if...

- Richard Horvitz has said that this is his favorite interaction, iirc :D I can see why

- He's also put actual bacon in an actual soap bar at one of the invadercons and showed it to Rikki Simons (who was horrified)!

Acne Blast Man is hilarious (and gets a callback in Tak's ep, it's playing in the background during a scene) :D

Gaz just totally ignoring Zim is excellent, and when Zim just gives up on her? even better!

Zim also turned "bad horror movie idea" into "actually kinda scary" really fucking fast. "Release him, Smackey. He is part of the collective now." like what the fuck??

"Oh, you'll open [your eyes]. You have to breathe sometime." There are a few possible explanations for this!

- Irkens breathe through their eyes - er, excuse me, ocular implants. Personally I hc their PAK breathes for them, but this is a neat hc nonetheless!

- Zim thinks humans breathe through their eyes (and their nose is just for smelling? maybe irkens' antennae are for hearing and smelling, but they breathe through their PAK?). Seems likely, given zim's previous lack of knowledge on humans

- Neither of the above; Zim was just trying to be confusing (and working).

Also, during the climax, when Zim and Dib are just...like...hyperfocused on each other,,,,, I feel like that's how they are almost 100% of the time and we just can't see it

This also happens in the pilot! (They're actually in a crowded lunchroom there)

Also also, Zim really just..took Dib's feedback and forgot about it, huh? I'm pretty sure he didn't plant attack gnomes underground, and Dib suggests tunneling under Zim's base in The Girl Who Cried Gnome, so it's still gotta be a viable option by then.

Hey, sorry this is late! Like really, really late. I've been trying to have good days! (and what a day this is, I've felt sick all day and I accidentally deleted a section of this and I can't remember exactly what it was I wrote so I gotta recreate it as best I can)

I think Dib and Membrane are pretty similar. They're both equally passionate about their interests and usually tend to value them above all else, losing themselves in what they love.

The only issue is, they have completely different interests, so while they exhibit similar traits, Membrane is passionate about science and Dib is passionate about paranormal investigation.

Dib is just as much of a genius as Zim and Membrane are. He's smart, he's good at science when he actually partakes in it. Membrane knows this, which is probably why Membrane puts a lot of pressure on Dib to put away paranormal stuff and take over the Membrane legacy.

I think that as Dib gets older, the pressure for him to inherent Membrane's legacy will get more intense. Eventually, Dib could be forced to take a job as a Membrane Labs employee/head scientist.

Does this mean Dib is stuck working for his dad? Hell no!!

Dib is too persistent and dedicated to just succumb to what his dad wants him to do. Sure, he might be stuck as a scientist for a bit, but he's going to use those skills to advance his paranormal investigator career.

He focuses on Earth reaching space, getting connected to other alien planets, proving his passions are valid through the science and money available to him!

No matter what life throws at him, Dib won't ever stop. I think he'd be resourceful and persistent enough to see his dreams through into adulthood.

...At least that's my interpretation of it.

Somehow this anonymous ask was deleted as I posted it?? So, hopefully whoever sent this asks sees it. Luckily I had the questions written down (helps me visualize sometimes)

1: Was tallest Red sick? If so, how long did he have it and did Purple see the signs? When did he die?

2: Hitz is the one out of the three whose upgraded vessel didn’t get destroyed during the last battle. Where is he now at the time?

3: I like to learn about tallest Spittle. He is one nicely built Irken. Confident enough to pose naked and loving how it intimidate his rivals.😆 what has he done for the empire during his reign? How did he pass away? Who was his closest staff workers?

4: How Was Hoola’s encounter with humans so far? What does he think of them and has he done any study of their world or at least learn form one?

5:How fond of Hitz and Soxx was of Dava? Enough to want to ally with her? Want her to be their life mate and have their sworms?(or was that towards Kii?)

6:Did Purple survive the battle against the control brains? Did he take back his throne or did he sit this own out? If the 6th era started, how is irk fairing after all this trauma over the years being led by each crazed, power tripping leaders and super computers?

7:If they can go back to the natural way of breeding, would they? If the irkens can find a way to limit the rick factors and death tolls. And only using the smeetiry method if it’s in dire need for population control. Surely there must have been a small amount of irkens who wish to have smeets of their own?

8: Out of all tallest, who’s reign was the least damaging to the empire and is more towards fixing itself from the inside while trying to gain Allie’s and trading partners on the outside? Any in favor?

9: When the time comes for them to die, will Zim and Dib see each other in the afterlife or will their paths be separated? Will they still watch over others?

10:What’s Cini’s favorite color? What would it be like if Lich was to be his personal guard? How would the interaction be between the two for the most part?

(Sorry this is all text. I will absolutely illustrate to these answers at some point... Catching up on other drawings this week. I like the numbering system; helps me stay focused. I is shit at focusing lol)

1. Red wasn't sick exactly. He and Purple suffered chronic joint and back pain, especially after their official measuring process which limited their physical activity. Red slowly developed a drinking problem after ID I, so his robes were a little tighter on him than Purple, even if on livestream that seemed unnoticeable. Red's reoccurring headaches started shortly after the Massive escaped the florpis hole.

The Massive's medical staff was OVERLOADED with emergencies at the time. Maybe something ailing late Red was misdiagnosed or overlooked in the chaos, but he was young and relatively healthy for his abnormal height. Nothing concerning showed on any of the maintenance tests Medic Hoola or the imperial PAK technician ran on his PAK. Late Red's death via aneurysm was unexpected. It shocked the empire. It nearly destroyed Tallest Purple. Purple didn't take Red's complaints seriously for a while. He will always blame himself for this. At the same time, a repressed part of him wonders if Red's death wasn't a freak coincidence. Tallests are telepathically/ wirelessly synced directly to the control brains. They often express displeasure with Red/ Purple's work performance... Maybe this was their way of punishing them? Their way of keeping Purple humble and in line...? He tries not to wonder. Outside his personal chambers, they can hear...

The exact date Red passed away, I honestly don't remember when I said originally or if I ever specified. I would have to look it up... In my AU Zim left earth a little under 2 years after the events of ETF. Red passed away some time between then and when Zim returned to earth (18 years after the events of ETF).

2. Self indulgent ending for Hitz (or his updated flesh vessel at least). The exact details have not been fleshed out. To sumarize, the one single surviving back-up flesh vessel, Purple winds up adopting the newborn updated Hitz and raises him as his own on Mem's mystery planet. New Hitz is a very big, very challenging smeet, but the evil, greed and hatred that infested his original vessel never infests new self. New Hitz is showered with love and friendship growing up. He has the same compulsive need to be orderly and follow rules and a logical routine, but he has no desire to enforce rules through violence and fear.

3. (Trying to gloss over this part, but… yeah) Spittle was the 21st tallest of the 4th era. He wasn't the brightest drone; he could barely manage the label on a nutrition shake. BUT, he had the good sense to surround himself with bright drones and listened to their counsel. He trusted the judgment of his staff, frylords and military nobles.

Spittle had a competitive streak and inferiority complex. He also had body image issues, if that wasn’t obvious. So in his efforts to build a strong, thriving empire and a flawless physique to match he invested large sums of monies and resources into medical research; improving the irken population's overall health.

Improving quality control and labor-drone's burnout on Producia, Foodcourtia and the other major snacking systems was advised by the frylords of his day, so he enlisted more service drones and made it mandatory for encoded full-time soldiers to work shifts for service drones due for a reprieve (vacation). For a soldier to refuse to show for service-drone duty or fail to perform the job correctly was considered a punishable offense. His advisor and battle pilot comrad, Blinx, cautioned him about declaring war until the armada was upgraded. So Blinx invested heavily in military research. Within the first century of Spittle's reign, he commissioned and mass produced three new battle crafts, the Spittle Runner (named after him), the shuvver and the ripper. Navigational tech upgrades were installed in all the Armada's ships. Maintenance on all crafts were performed more often and the regulations themselves were updated and reinforcedmore strictly.

Spittle had enlisted for battle pilot training when he was a cadet, so he especially enjoyed discussing battle crafts, space battles, racing stats ect.

Funding for Irken military and battle pilot academies was increased as was the number of training hours needed to graduate. Training improved exponentially and the stats of cadets across the board improved. The youth of his day confidentiality believed Spittle was leading them into a platinum age of Irken history...

He seemed untouchable, but Spittle had two character flaws; he had a habit of showboating and taunting his enemies and he never learned his limits. After declaring the only war during his short reign, Spittle started a strict body building regimen. He injured himself at the gym. In an attempt to rush his recovery and gain results, Spittle went against the advice of his medic. He took a cocktail of performance enhancers. His heart gave out.

His advisor, Blinx was measured the next tallest and the war Spittle declared lead to the pandemic that decimated the Irken population when Cini was a smeet.

4. The only two humans Hoola has interacted with so far is with Reg (Dib's oldest child) and Lyr (Gaz's only child). He is pleasantly shocked by how kind they are to him, considering how much these humans know about the Irken race and their endless warpath. He likes these young humans. They're funny creatures; very expressive and curious. Reg especially asks a lot of questions. Hoola knows giving away too much information may be a punishable offense, but he is sick of the injustices plaguing the empire and his life clock has been detonated, starting his 10 year retirement countdown to death.

He enjoys participating in Reg's interview. Lyr is especially fond of Hoola. He considers him their Irken grandpa. Lyr is deeply troubled when Hoola explains to him how retiring works in the Irken empire.

5. Dava was long dead when Hitz, Soxx and Kii ruled as tallests if their respective hives. Soxx and Hitz would have HATED Dava. Dava allowed her drones too many perks and freedoms. She encouraged disobedience. She spat on tradition. Kii ruled the same subterranean territories Dava and her allies ruled. She admired Dava or how her legacy described Dava, as a smeet but failed to honor her memory in the long run.

6. Purple survives several battles against the control brains. He dies long before the final battle. He lived a comfortable-ish life in Mem's hive. He did what he could to help the resistance.

7. I think it would take a few generations to get used to the idea of a natural/ smeetery option birthing system. The smeetery has been the only method of birth permitted in the empire for thousands of years. Most Irkens would choose to let the smeetery replenish the population, but if the alternative method is decriminalized eventually more drones might find the natural method appealing. It would be a huge win for drone rights if natural pregnancies weren’t a punishable offense.

8. Hmmm… Late Cini probably fits that description as far as my ocs go. Spittle is a close 2nd. But I haven't written lore fot 17 or 18 other late reigns of tallests.

9. I'm sure Zim and Dib will run into each other. Where and when I'm not certain. Zim is relieved Dib has kept tabs on his family / descendants. Otherwise, it would take Zim forever to recap.

10. Cini's favorite color is neon pink. He is also fond of iridescent silver or iridescent pink, and sequins of any color.
