Alright, not to be too predictable, but I wanna talk about space and color as it's used in the intro to episode 1 for a minute. And you know, show some gorgeous space shots.
So we open in the dark. There's distant lights and the occasional flare from them moving through space but for the most part we get the angel that would eventually become Crowley alone in enough darkness that he himself isn't even giving off particularly significant amounts of light.

But then, enter Aziraphale. He arrives in a big ball of blue light shining above him that really emphasizes Crowley's red hair. They get tied to the colors we most often see them attached to, especially in promotional materials.

From here the entire scene gets slightly brighter, even once Aziraphale's light dims down. They're both lit up once they're together, even it the middle of literal nothingness.

They start the universe next, using Crowley's hand crank, which gives off a magic that's a combination of their two colors - purple.

A very similar color to this shows up in heaven as a signal flare for their accidentally too powerful half a miracle. It's a color tied to a miracle so big it could've revived someone 25 times and also a miracle that got the engine of the universe running.

And then. Creation starts. Our first image is a very Heavenly aesthetic. It's a blueish light cutting through the clouds much like Az just cut through the dark.

And what explodes from that is the thing that set me down this little rabbit hole in the first place: it's purple scattered through with red and blue lights.

As the initial burst fades, the blue and the red separate, the color fading except for this tiny blue dot and this growing red zone on the right.

The blue then fades, leaving us with an extremely Crowley coded palette here and a very orangeish red. There's shades of gray, a little bit of light, but not nearly as much color. As the sequence moves the darkness grows but does start slowly filling with small points of light.

We then end up with shades of gray both light and dark. There's balance here, even if it's not particularly colorful.

And then all at once a pinkish red bursts forth with these intense clawing tendrils. At the core of it, from the heart of it, is a bright blue ball of light.

It fades into a blue heart surrounded by darkness with whisps of white resembling a certain someone's hair. Or, as some friends pointed out two people embracing.

As the nebula settles a few other colors set in but the primary scheme is still red and blue. An almost violent plume of red emerges on the left side of the image.

And from this moment on most shots of the two of them back them with their respective color schemes.

They chat and Aziraphale gets anxious. He looks for a distraction and is immediately drawn to the space where the colors mix.

And as we fade out the other colors in the picture fade. We get the most balanced blue and red get. And on the far corners fairly clear dark and light.

So what does this mean? The purple speaks to them being very powerful together. And, the rest is arguably just representative of the plot. We have Aziraphale as a beacon in the dark - a signal flare we know Crowley has throughout history been aware of and drawn to. We have them brightening each other. We have Az's color breaking out of heaven to mix with Crowley's to create something new and wonderful and powerful. Aziraphale's color fades, leaving Crowley alone. We then get a burst of a red closer to Crowley's current hair, with Aziraphale's blue in the core of it that eventually becomes a blue heart surrounded by darkness. That too fades, replaced by the pillars becoming their familiar hand shape and slightly more colors seeping in. As they talk together and move closer together their own colors settle back in and come to balance.

Eras Tour Film premiere | Los Angeles, CA | October 11, 2023
Oscar de la Renta 'Cutout Floral Gown' - $11,990.00 $5,995.00
In my predictions post for this premiere on the TSS Patreon I selected a different dress by Oscar de la Renta (a longtime favourite designer of Taylors) and noted that my ideal styling with said gown would be a "red lip and pinned faux bob with tons of bangles and chandelier diamond earrings ... for an old Hollywood glam feel."
Needless to say, I support and love this outing.
It's dramatic and ladylike while also honouring and extending the #1989Blue precedent she set during the final stages of the U.S. 2023 leg of the Eras Tour. Dressing to a colour palette is a perfect connector and reminder to bridge both the event at hand of the concert tour movie and her most pressing upcoming record with 1989 (Taylor's Version) set to release on October 27.
All in, this is a beautiful gown and perhaps one of her best appearances ever. The elegant styling (dainty rings and eye-popping matching diamond tennis necklace and bracelet) were the perfect choices. And maybe I'm just jealous that Taylor is someone who can pull off blue eyeshadow (any other brown eyed girls who were told that blue makeup would make your eyes pop and subsequently did not look like Taylor Swift when you tried a powder blue shadow look? anyone? just me?).
Designer Fernando Garcia also noted during the Resort 2023 collection's presentation that "cut-outs have become a go-to for our customer". The ones on this gown feel like an organic nod to the spliced crop tops that were signature to the original 1989 fashion run in 2014. But here, they're more organic and integrated into the design - a natural part of fully blossoming some might say. And if you missed the subtle cut-out nod, there's always the faux bob that might double take you into believing you were back in 2014/15 and also nods to the messy, slightly undone style seen on the 1989 TV cover.
As backstory, it should surprise no one that this particular collection happened to debut on June 13, 2022 at (where else) the New York Botanical Garden.

“Our new diplomatic relationships with Fontaine are moving along smoother than I imagined.”
The blue-haired head of Kamisato Clan sits before you comfortably, happily relaying the events that occurred during the time he was away from Inazuma. The sunlight shines delicately over you, creeping through the leaves of the sakura blooms that hang overhead. Often, the leaves fall around and onto you, summoning drizzles of pink.
Ayato remains the centre of your attention, though, the colour palette of spring enchanting when it is surrounding him. 
“I’m happy to hear that. Trustworthy and hardworking, that’s our Yashiro Commissioner for you,” you praise, raising your cup of tea to your lips. 
“No doubt this will bring forth some interesting business opportunities for you, correct?”
“Of course, as with any nation. However, my greatest concern with Fontaine is the travel time, but with their advanced technology, I doubt any rigorous human effort will be required during the process. I’m hoping it will be smooth for both parties.” 
A long time ago, you were ashamed of how long you could talk for. Now, with someone like Ayato listening to your every word, you don’t withhold any (negligible) information. 
(There is no news that will escape Ayato. He knows more than he lets on and has ears placed at all corners of Inazuma. Try as you may to keep something from him, the only thing you can truly control is when and how the information reaches him.) 
“Please, feel free to keep me updated. I am fascinated by Fontaine’s productivity with their machinery, I would love to learn more.”
With a humble bow of your head, you reassure him you will invite him so he may see for himself when the time comes. “Why did you invite me here, Ayato?” You ask, setting down your now empty tea cup with a clink. 
“Oh, yes, thank you for coming on such short notice. Hopefully you did not have to cut out any important matters for this meeting, did you?”
“I will always have time to see you. Arranging my schedule is no trouble if the Yashiro Commissioner needs me.” 
He blinks twice before his expression melts into something softer. “I am delighted to hear that. As for why I summoned you here today, well, I am hardly as young as I was when I first took up the mantle of Yashiro Commissioner. With every passing day, I am increasingly aware of my age.” He begins, violet eyes as unreadable as ever as they gaze into you, unyielding. It’s always hard to look away when you first get a glance.
(If you were to describe Kamisato Ayato, you’d compare him to an ocean. On the surface, harmless with his calm and predictable waves, reflecting the light of the sun in ripples, tempting you to take a step in.)
“Even Chiori made a comment about having to make me look younger.”
“Stop it- the wrinkles around your eyes aren’t that deep-”
“-Y/n. There is still no heir to the Kamisato Clan or the Yashiro Commission.”
“You won’t be giving up the mantle any time soon though, right?”
“Rest assured, I have no thoughts as such, but it is now the time to think about matrimony.”
You’re not sure why, but your stomach feels like a falling anvil, premonition settling in your bones like lead. “Why did you call me here, Ayato?”
An answer formulates in your head before he even needs to open his mouth, and it sounds out an awful song, one that causes your ears to bleed and knees to buckle. 
(You take your first step into the sea. The sand is silk beneath your feet, and the water splashes with your every step. You keep going until the water is up to your waist, knocking against your chest with each wave.)
“I want you to be my spouse.” 
No matter how many surprise meetings you have sat through with alarming news, none will ever shake you to your core like this one. For all the news of lost shipments, pirates that confiscated your products, and investment failures, nothing would have ever trained you for an occasion like this.
Professionalism is a delicate mask, and Ayato knows exactly how to chip away at it.
“No- no, I couldn’t,” you begin, nothing but a jumble of feelings that have turned you inside out like a kimono. “Ayato, I refuse.”
You? A Commissioner’s spouse? How detestable. You know the last thing Ayato could wish for you is a life of misery, confined to the chains of propriety, social etiquette, and societal management, but you also thought you’d be the last person he’d consider to be wed to. 
All these decades of friendship, was it just so it could lead to this finale? Did you ever know him like you truly thought you did? 
The monster disguised as a man sits himself beside you, sinking to his knees, and the white, rich fabrics of his attire pool around you. 
“I can promise you happiness, Y/n. Mora, safety, whatever you need, I’ll be at your beck and call.”
Happy? Married?
His gloved hand finds yours. It’s not warm, and his touch feels inhuman, but you don’t have it in you to pull away from him. “In collaboration with the resources from the Yashiro Commission, we could make your business operations much more efficient.”
“Can’t you find another partner? There are no shortages of elites who are looking for potential partners in Inazuma. I could talk to some candidates on your behalf to organise a meeting, I am certain no one could ever reject your hand in marriage-”
“-Then, why are you?”
“Why are you so persistent that it must be me?” 
“There are… no other individuals like you. I recognise that not all marriages need to be formed from love, but that does not exclude friendship. Our companionship is one I trust, you are my ideal candidate.”
“I would not make a good spouse.” You omit to tell him of your carefree qualities, that you have a business to run, and that you could not imagine a life bound to another, even if he is someone as dreamy as the Kamisato head. “I could not make you happy.”
“Guaranteeing my happiness does not have to be your duty.” His hands delicately trace the lines on your palms, you protest against the way they naturally curl at the sensation. 
“Then what will be?”
“Producing an heir to the Kamisato Clan.” 
He does not miss the way you shift uncomfortably in your position, or the subtle displeasure that clouds your eyes. Ayato’s not sure how successful he can be if he remains this persistent, every attempt seems to only push you further away, but if there’s anything he’s good at it is biding his time. The best lesson his time as the Yashiro Commissioner has taught him it’s that patience leads to success, and he’s willing to give you some time to figure it all out.
“I do not want to force you into something you do not want to partake in. You may have some time to think, I await to hear your answer once you are ready.” he gets up silently and quickly. It’s strange. You feel like you disappointed him. 
He strides out of the gardens, tea and sweets untouched. For all the years you have known him, this is the first time he leaves without escorting you out, showing you the retreating figure of his broad back.
What will you do? Ayato, above all else, is cunning and calculating; a terrifying trait of his. Everything he wants, he eventually gets, the art of patience is one he has mastered. The only thing you can liken him to is a fox biding its time to catch its prey.  
You will not remain ignorant to the fact that it appears this time, you are his prey.
He will find subtle ways to intercept in your business, he will take advantage of everything he knows about you and use it to your demise, everywhere you turn, he will be there. How long will it be until he sinks his teeth into you? 
That day, you go to sleep with an uneasy heart. You feel like you’re playing with a lit bomb, juggling with it so that it will explode when it is out of your hands. 
Three weeks later, you receive news that a shipment of yours suddenly caught fire, destroying everything that you were exporting, harming few of your employees in the process. 
Your time is up. 
(His hand grabs your ankle, and pulls you under.)

The Name Chapter: Freefall Logo Analysis and Predictions
uh? who would have thought, not me 🥸
you guessed it, it's TXT LORE O'CLOCK! let's start with the new logo motion because there's already a bunch to unpack here 👀
we see the Star shining brightly behind the Temptation logo
the Temptation logo literally disintegrates and the original one, the "X", shows up below it: TXT are now free from Temptation, it's not making their brain foggy anymore, the fake fantasy they were in is dissolving. This was represented in the Farwell, Neverland poster as well (in a sec we'll go back to it)
the logo is FREE FALLING, exactly what TXT are doing: falling back down to earth from Neverland ...and it's not a nice fall, they literally shatter the ground 🥲 we saw some big damage made after a fall like this already 👀 it was in Ox1=Lovesong Japanese Ver. music video (see picture below)
finally, the logo takes its new form, and so does TXT: let's put some bandages (literally Beomgyu) over those scars and OH LOOK THE STAR AGAIN!! Looks like TXT are finally going to remember their true names and the promise they made as children 😎

Now, should we dive into a few more details and predictions for this upcoming album? 👀
During the T:Terview video for TNC: Temptation (minute 12:45) Taehyun gave a spoiler about the next album...

so let's analyze them!
1) CONCEPT TRAILER
You can find my full analysis of it here !
RECAP: after what we saw in Sugar Rush Ride, TXT should leave Neverland/Magic Island because they're too grown up now to keep living in that fantasy. In the concept trailer it's when they jump out of the falling house, the fall back from their hideout in Neverland to the real world... BUT, they'll all have to fight eachother and their inner demons to accept the reality of things now, as we saw in Beomgyu's vision.

2) FAREWELL, NEVERLAND
1) this was my analysis of its poster:

Because of the symbolism of the butterfly and the seasons motif (see my summary for my explanation), since in Sugar Rush Ride it was summer in Neverland, i think that in the next album we are going to have autumn like in Blue Hour, or anyway colder weather.
*months later* And now, WHEN does the new album come out?? October 😌 the timeline is timelining.
HERE you can find my little analysis of the lyrics of Farewell, Neverland that i highly recommend reading :))
here's a little summary anyway:
🎶 Neverland, my love, goodbye now / And I'm free falling / Stars, sleep with comfort / 'Til I be calling 🎶
TXT accept that they have to leave Neverland and they fall back down to the real world. Yeonjun's says that "stars" can "sleep" comfortably until TXT are going to be "calling" them: this is of course a reference to the Star, that is still asleep and is going to wake up only when TXT sing the promise song.
In the concept trailer we saw that TXT are leaving Neverland at sunset, like they always do: Blue Hour is the time of the day when the border between the magical and the real world is tinner and they are able to travel between the two.
And what comes after sunset? Night, of course.
so now let's now take a look at...
3) FAREWELL CONCEPT PICS
First of all, it is night ✨ 👀
each one of them is holding a lantern like in this scene of Sugar Rush Ride:

I'm pretty sure the lantern references the Star, txt's guide/compass to move through life.
And let's not forget that to enter and exit Neverland in Peter Pan you need the "the second star on the right" and they're all holding the lantern with their right hand.
The fact that the night approaching in time is showed through the solo pictures in this exact order is not casual either: we have Yeonjun (there's still some light), Kai, Soobin, Beomgyu and Taehyun (it's pitch black).
Yeonjun true name is "promise": he has to be the one to keep hope alive in the group and persevere to find the star. While Taehyun saw the dangers the future holds through the premonitions (in Eternally mv) so he's not very hopeful towards it.
This is also the exact same order as that of TXT fighting in the labyrinth in Beomgyu's vision in the TNC concept trailer (i explained in the storyline summary):

Taehyun is last one who's defeated (or surrenders) and from the Farewell concept pics that's not looking so good... another interesting detail is that Taehyun's boat is the only one flipped around:

Seems like he's not going to make it, or rather his youth is not going to: he's the one that's going to fully lose his youthful self and fully face adulthood. This was hinted by his object in the Nightmare concept pics: an hourglass. He's afraid of time passing and aging, most of all.

AND, all of this also explains why in 0x1=Lovesong Japanese Ver. he has wings and disappears at the end of the music video!
If you read my summary you already know, but my theory is that 0x1=Lovesong Japanese music video (click to watch) fits after Temptation and comes with the second part of The Name Chapter. We literally see them falling from the sky! and now that we know that the next TNC album is called Freefall looks like the dots are connecting! 😈
Finally, let's unpack this silly little image they gave us in January...

Since Temptation, being the name of the first album of The Name Chapter, is written in cursive, a very diffused theory was that the words written in the same fonts were the titles of the next two albums: Promise and Unmagic...
LOOKS LIKE THEY FOOLED US🤡
i had a feeling they were deceiving us with this one, it couldn't be this easy, they couldn't have gave away such a big anticipation... but hey, these silly little words still have some kind of importance ☝👀
— Loadstar means "a star that leads or guides, especially (used for) the north star". We just talked about the Star symbolised by the lantern being their guide 👀👍
— Promise is the name of the train that took TXT to Magic Island/Neverland in Sugar Rush Ride, but it's also Yeonjun’s true name, and it refers as well to the promise TXT made with eachother and the Star... and it looks like, in the next album, TXT are finally going to remember it... CAN I GET AN HALLELUJAH? 👼🏻
So these signs were a summary: on Neverland's Ground, TXT are under Temptation through the Sugar Rush Ride. Nowhere can they found their Loadstar, but they need to remember the Promise they made with her. This will lead them Down to Eart, to a world of Unmagic.

miguel o'hara── a study in security
it's really funny how most of my finals this quarter have me reading so many pieces that relate with the fics i'm writing and the characters i have brainrot over. i'm reading chapter 6 of eva illouz's book, "why love hurts," and the section about how love and security can't always co-exist hit me... because that is exactly how miguel o'hara regulates his life and shapes his influence within the spider-society.
"Security is often seen as incompatible with passion, or even as leading to its demise. But I would argue that this need for “security” and/or for “adventure” is not an invariant constituent of the psyche; or if it is, then security and adventure take on changing shapes in different cultural structures. They are also outcomes of the social organization of the psyche. Security derives from the capacity to control and to predict one’s environment; adventure, by contrast, derives from feeling challenged, either in one’s social identity or in the ways in which one knows how to do things." (Illouz, 219).
rewatching atsv and i notice just how locked and authoritative miguel runs his facility. micromanaged down to the knick-knacks hobie swipes. the differences in lighting and color theory with how miles & the gang associate with different spider-people, being lit in white and warm shades... then we meet miguel and he is in pitch dark with reddish and deep blue undertones. his character design is similar to the spot, where the sketch design is still visible amidst the rendering and coloring. this color palette carries with him and it sucks all his interactions in with it. from berating gwen after miles escapes to watching archival footage of his daughter, it's so deeply rooted that breaking out of that sphere will quite literally destroy what little he already has left and what he managed to preserve.
the man is STRESSED. we see that from his design to his dialogue. he believes he is single-handedly keeping the multiverse together and he expresses it multiple times. he thinks he can't have comfort and duty at the same time, believing that is what it means to be spider-man. it takes away his humor too, pointed out by peter b. when he says all spider-men are supposed to be funny. the only time he really shows any sort of wit is when he interacts with lyla and maybe jess, but even then, it's so dry and sarcastic. (save his interaction with baby mayday bc that man is also a father.)
but he's "okay" with this great responsibility. this is his security because it's what he's able to control when once, he wasn't able to control anything and it left him so badly wounded that it isolated any possibility of change or evolution for the order of things. when miles left, he shouted, "ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS LISTEN!" and then a softer, almost baffled and frustrated, "why didn't he listen...?"
illouz talks about how visual stimulations or even the presence of something we can hear or see can shape or crush the way we look at ourselves.
Research on the impact of media images on how individuals perceive their bodies suggests that images of perfect bodies have negative effects on self-esteem and self-concept because watching these images suggests to people both that others can achieve them more easily (competitiveness) and that others view them as important (normative legitimacy). Media images thus become a source of disappointment through the implicit mediation of what we think they say about others’ expectations of us and about their achievements compared to ours. Widespread images of love may instill ideas that others achieve love when we do not, and that achieving love is normatively important for successful life. (Illouz, 220).
hobie mentioned it before we officially meet miguel. he says miles seemingly has it alright with his parents and stable family life. and someone like miguel, who keeps a watchful eye over everything that goes on with spidermen, knows that. and he's jealous of it, i would argue. he believes as spider-man, there is a required sacrifice or weight of loss to carry.
while it is a very recurring trope with every iteration of spider-man that's been watched or read, miles has felt loss and loneliness. but he hasn't felt it in the way miguel has because what miguel went through is so singular and unique to him. the only ones who may understand what that would feel like would be gwen or even pav, seeing their dimension and/or livelihood beginning to crumble.
but miles has everything... and is also spider-man and i just know that burns miguel. it's not what he believes should be the order of the "spider-man journey," even though happiness and responsibility can and has worked together. example, peter b. and his daughter.
it's inconceivable for miguel to think something or someone can deny him or run the other way. because everyone is primed to understand that it's his way or quite literally, the destruction of everything. nobody can suggest another way. nobody can say no. aside from the doomsday vibes, miguel is also objectively scary when he’s genuinely angry. not even irritated or annoyed. irate. he’s also colossal. he’s mr. property damage. this need for control and this ability to maintain it under his thumb fuels his antagonistic relationship with anomalies or things he sees as a threat to his security. he doesn't like to be challenged, he likes to be listened to because he knows how the multiverse works and what can come out of it if even a single spider-person has a foot out of line.
and with all the hints left over at the end of the film of how miguel may be wrong, that there is a way to fix the multiverse while protecting the people they love, there will be some serious fractures to his security and everything will open up once again.

Barboach is surprisingly cute. It's based off a loach, which is a type of fish known for reacting to storms before they happen.

Visually, the plain grey is a bit of a surprise—I would've assumed they would've gone for a brown at least to reflect its ground-typing, if not something more vibrant like yellow—but otherwise, there's nothing all that wrong with it. The little dot eyes are adorable, the blue fins pop nicely, and the zig-zag is a pretty bold visual that stands out nicely. It's a bit weak conceptually, mostly just being a loach and nothing else, but it is a nice looking loach.

Barboach's evolution into a catfish makes more sense when you take into account that Japan has long associated catfish with earthquakes, due to their long whiskers allowing them to react before one actually hits. This ties back into Barboach's loach-ness, with them being able to predict storms. It's a decent little concept, but I do wish it played more of a part in the designs—maybe they could've had some forehead gems and been psychic-type, or maybe cautionary signs and symbols could've been worked in as a visual motif.
That said, Whiscash is fine as-is. I always enjoy a Pokemon with a dumbass expression, and the colors are pleasant. There's a bit of a visual connection with Barboach as well, with the whiskers, spotted back fin, small pupils, and the zigzag becoming a W-like marking (ironically, it's name staring with a W sound is only an English thing). I do kind of wish Barboach had more of Whiscash's color palette just to make the similarities more obvious, but that's more of a pre-evo thing.

I'd say that if this line needs something, it would probably be a regional (an evo's also not out of the question, though I'm not sure what direction you'd take it). The designs are fine but fairly bland, and the theme's not really obvious from a visual standpoint, which makes it a bit hard for these guys to stand out compared to other water/ground types. That said, these are still some decent looking 'mons regardless.

And a last little section to tidy up this 8-chapter long day 😂 herewith my pre-Christmas offering of Virgil’s excitable eyebrows…

(What went before)

Scott sat on the couch and flipped the blue cushion from hand to hand while Estera poured the coffee and deliberated between several packets of cookies. He felt weirdly giddy. That conversation had not gone the way he would have predicted and he was more a little thrown by it. The “he’d be proud of you” line came up irritatingly often, usually said by strangers who knew nothing of him or his father, not really, and he’d smile politely and thank them while wanting to scream.
His usual internal rebuttal of the achievements people tended to list at such times hadn’t come into play this time though because she hadn’t actually mentioned any of them. Not one.
The relief made him feel a little like he could lie down on the ceiling.
“Fnn muh fuh mmmph?”
Estera appeared balancing two coffee cups and the parcel and holding a packet of cookies in her teeth.
He relieved her of a cup and the cookies - apple and cinnamon he noted with approval - and she perched next to him, delivering a gulp of coffee with one hand and fidgeting with the parcel with the other.
“This has had way too much build up now.” A flicker of uncertainty crossed her face “But, happy belated birthday.”
Cup and cookies abandoned, he just about resisted the urge to tear into the beautifully wrapped package like a 6 year old on Christmas morning, instead forcing himself to peel back the layers slowly until a pile of fabric fell into his lap.
It was a scarf. A really, REALLY long scarf in the softest yarn he’d ever come across. Primarily blue but with narrower stripes in an unusual palette of colours - green, gold, yellow, red and black.
He laughed as he realised the connection.
He pointed at a green stripe - “Virgil?”
She smiled shyly and he grinned at her in delight.
She’d got the colours spot on, the yellow a particularly sunny hue. The blue wasn’t quite Thunderbird One blue though, but a slightly different shade. He realised it was what he was coming to think of as HER blue - the same as her own scarf, the streak in her hair, the cushion on the couch next to him.
“I know you live somewhere quite warm, but maybe it will come in handy if you do decide to travel for fun one day.”
“I love it. Thank you. It’s so soft…” he held it to his cheek for a moment. “You made it?”
She nodded. “There are probably flaws all over the place, don’t look too closely!”
He leaned back and draped it over his face, covering his eyes entirely. “Nope can’t see any, it’s perfect.”
“You’re utterly daft, did I tell you that?”
He lifted the scarf and grinned.
“It may have come up once or twice.”

Bez capered around the living room sniffing everything thoroughly before circling the sofa twice then eventually leaping up to join her on it, resting his huge head on her knee and gazing up at her adoringly.
“Yes, I had a visitor Bez, you can smell him can’t you? Would you like to meet him sometime?”
They hadn’t long finished their coffee before Scott had received a message from his brother and made his farewells. But it had been enough time for the conversation to turn back to the deal they’d tentatively made via text a while ago - he’d let her try to help him with his dog problem if she’d let him try to help her get back on a plane. It made her feel a little nauseous to think about. But if anyone could get her through that particular roadblock, it would be the friend who with sparkling eyes and animated hands had persuaded her it really might be possible to ‘dance the skies on laughter-silvered wings’.

John waited by the steps of Tracy Two as Scott handed the hire car keys over to the receptionist and thanked her for her assistance. That simple interaction having rendered the poor woman a giggling wreck, his brother turned and came to meet him. John resisted the urge to click his fingers to dispel the dippy grin on her face as she stared after Scott, the keys hanging limp from her hand.
Scott threw his arm around his brother’s shoulders and gave a quick squeeze. He skipped lightly up the steps and settled into the passenger seat, loosening a scarf John hadn’t seen before and making a pillow for his head out of it. He leaned back and stretched back luxuriantly.
“You don’t want to fly?”
“Nah… unless you’re tired or don’t want to?”
“I’ll happily do it if you want me to, it’s why we brought the jet rather than One… I just didn’t think…”
“FAB, Johnny. She’s too slow to be any fun, so I may as well have a nap.”
“A… nap.”
Scott yawned and snuggled into his scarf pillow. That seemed to be all the response John was going to get for now.
He finished pre-flight checks and taxi’d out on to the runway. They avoided using VTOL at small airports because it tended to cause unnecessary Excitement.
This hadn’t been one of the potential outcomes of the trip he’d planned for. He’d expected, hoped, that the family flyboy would appear intact (or at least fairly emotionally un-devastated) and take unquestioning charge of the aircraft. OR… he might be having difficulties in which case John would fly and Scott would probably pace around the plane for the entire trip home. The third “nap” option was not even in his card deck.
“So… did you have a good time?”
Scott smiled, his eyes still closed. “I really did.” He leaned over slightly and patted John’s arm. “Thank you for everything.”
A few minutes passed. John looked round for the dozenth time and couldn’t resist whispering
“Scott? Scotty?”
Surely not? A little louder:
“Scooter?”
There was no reply but slow breathing.
Virgil popped up out of nowhere and John immediately put his fingers to his lips. Virgil looked momentarily horrified and John did his best to put him out of his misery with a stage whisper:
“He’s… fine? He’s happy… and decided to take a nap.”
“A nap? Scott?”
“My thoughts exactly.”
“Did you check his pulse?”
They contemplated their snoozing commander.
“All that bracing British sea air I suppose…”
“Stop it.”
“I didn’t say anything!”
“You were thinking it.”
“As if you weren’t.”
“He said it wasn’t like that.”
“Then I guess it can only be that the bracing British sea air agrees with him.” Virgil’s holographic eyebrows danced and John rolled his eyes.
“You’re hopeless. Go away. I’ll see you when we get back.”
“FAB Johnny”

Virgil approved of the construction. “It’s a good stitch to use… open and light, yet strong enough. Unless you cut it somehow this should even be fairly Scott-proof.”
“Hey!!!”
“Look at your trousers, big brother…”
Scott huffed in faux offence.
“You’ll have to ask her for me where she got the Thunderbird-Two-Green yarn… and Four’s is spot on as well. This isn’t quite Thunderbird One blue though.”
“Yeah I noticed that, but it’s the same colour as her own scarf so I figured she had a load of that yarn left over. I like it though, it’s a good sky colour. Maybe we should respray One!”
Virgil leaned back and narrowed his eyes at his elder brother who cocked an eyebrow back at him.
“I’m joking, Virg. Geez…”
“Hold it up to the light for me?”
Scott lifted a section of the scarf to face height and studied it too.
“Hey, Scott?”
His brother’s eyes flicked over to him. “What?”
Hypothesis confirmed. Virgil smiled to himself.
“Never mind.”

Ok......So, the new HB episode is out, how unexpected for me. I apologize to my fellow readers for not reviewing the previous episode, but I was so tired and busy, having to deal with a lot of work. The cat must have got my tongue when I saw the dildo scene, I'm sorry. And what can I say......Actually, this episode is the best one in the 2 season at this moment. I mean, at least it wasn't that cringe and plot ruining as the other ones.
The animation looks pretty good in action scenes(and not so good in other, especially when some characters speak). The backgrounds look good, and I somewhat like the fact that the Sloth Ring is pink. Looks so sweet, bubblegum and cotton candy-like. But the floating pieces of ground are very cliche for a fantasy world. Also I think there were too many sound effects, when sometimes it feels like there's a lack of them. In principle, everything is as always. Stolas is a damsel in distress again, Moxxie and Millie are boring, Stella is evil(and extremely stupid for some reason), Blitzo is loud and annoying and spits cuss words every second because the authors think it's funny. Also Loona just...... didn't speak in this ep at all. No words. Don't know if it's good or not. The plotline of her going to doctor and being afraid of shots is pretty boring, tbh. I still have no idea why hellhounds are treated like some pets in this universe when they're competent and sensible beings. Also, I don't know if anyone told that or this is just me, but I absolutely hate the idea of putting fucking westerns in "Hell". I know Vivzie isn't so original and her universe is super bland and uninteresting, but shit, westerns just don't stick in the setting of Hell at all, it's not that vibe and it looks ridiculous. And that's not because I don't like westerns. Striker's song felt absolutely redundant, and Striker himself seems....unnatural? Seems like Vivzie made him that masculine bigot guy who's bigheaded and is obsessed with having a huge cock(because dicks are funny according to the writers). They have finally showed Andrealphus, Stella's brother, and there's nothing interesting about him to say. I'm just glad they didn't make him a stereotypical gay. Knowing Vivzie's "rep" and how feminine he looks, it would be predictable. As I've said before, he looks like a shameless Elsa ripoff, as his blue ice castle(covered with red fucking sky, god, these palette choices burn out my eyes). I've heard some controversial and suspicious stuff considering him and Stella(more precisely, someone says that originally they were going to have incestuous relationship). Not sure if it's true, and I do hope that Vivzie won't go so far in making Stella an unredeemable villain.

I didn't see anything "weird" or vulgar in their conversation, it felt like puerility. I like to imagine that their relationship is like a niminy-piminy brother always cheering up and complimenting his little sis because he can. I've seen some cartoons with a similar character dynamic and a certain part of their fandoms found indecent connotation in this, and that's their problems in their depravity. And yeah, I know that my thoughts aren't true and they obviously have a manipulative relationship. Andre straight up insulted Stella and manipulated her, btw. If Viv really wanna do them having incest - fine, another reason to quit watching this show. But something tells me that she won't dare to lose a bunch of fans and be yet again cancelled in social networks.
Summing up, this episode was pretty good by the standards of the season and bad by the standards of..... something qualitative I guess? Viv still hasn't learned how to separate drama from comedy, which makes it difficult, no, impossible to feel Stolas' sad shit. This character is one of my personal winners in the list of the most repulsive and annoying creatures and him always being sex crazed about Blitzo pisses me off. How the hell are we supposed to take him seriously if all he wants is a dick? The rest of the time he whines about how unhappy he is and pretends to care about his daughter. Season 2 continues to look like terrible Wattpad fanfiction and it discourages from watching this series. It's not even fun to hate or criticize it anymore, it's just......Ehh.

Yesterday I watched "Wish" - a new feature film from Disney. I swear, if at least someone didn't tell me that it was true from Disney, I thought that a small studio was engaged in the project, which is just trying its hand. Or even a game, it would look much more interesting if it were finalized. But….
Seriously?
They just stuffed "references" from Snow White, Cinderella and Pinocchio with a taste of Frozen Heart??? And made the main villain a slave in the mirror?
From the very first minutes, the thought did not leave me that the color palette looks like this…insipid. And not accented. If you look at the colors of the previous cartoons, you will notice that a certain color composition, (I forgot what it's called, the key colors in the scenes?) it can perfectly convey the atmosphere and mood in the scene.
The main character just gets lost on different backgrounds because there are too many of the same blue colors. The emphasis on the yellow star? Yeah, great. But otherwise, if it had been placed somewhere in the crowd and the saturation with brightness had been slightly twisted, no one would have noticed it.
And where the hell are the complimentary colors (opposite in color scheme) that work so well in the very first works? The same Alice in Wonderland. Alice - delicate blue and light shades, lightness and lightness. The Queen of Hearts- is black and red, looks heavy and domineering. Here's a sharp contrast for you visually.
What about Atlantis or the Treasure Planet? Good down-to-earth colors, overlaid with darker ones. The color scheme is more suited to the concept that we are used to in reality. Here you cannot predict who will be the villain. There are no very pronounced accents throughout the cartoon, only in a couple of cases perfectly suitable for narration. The colors are played superbly. They can still be disassembled as a study for artists. Light and shadows, tone perfectly harmonize with each other.
But here everything went to the trash can.
If this pretentious and polished male magician in a cape is a villain, then do the balancing of the colors damn it. Give him a little background, not a couple of cheap songs written by AI. Show the more repulsive side that he is duplicitous, that he has the brains to hold power for so many years. That he is obsessed with his beauty and surrounds himself with mirrors to encourage his exorbitant ego.
The simplest solution is to take the main character and make an inventive/negative of colors! If the heroine has soft pastel lavender colors. Add a couple of color accents for the Villain in the form of yellow or green flowers. Goddesses for the sake of not so pastel and faded! If you don't have everything in the same watercolor light colors! You're not shooting Winnie the Pooh!! Or show his luxury in power, richer ones. Make silver shades colder, sharper, making feel prickly and heavy.
Sorry, I got carried away with the visual component.
But I absolutely did not like this cartoon. No visual, no narration, no songs.

i really love your art style! especially the colors in the pieces. it felt so funky and pretty. do you have any tips in picking the colors and coloring in general?

thank you for the ask ^^ i'm glad you're enjoying my work and my style :D
colors are complicated because they tend to convey a lot just by existing together, so understanding the way those relationships exist is pretty important. i really only started to appreciate color after taking an acrylic paint class that taught us how to mix any color with just red, white, yellow, and blue.
the main way i compile colors is by thinking of what i want to convey first and then branching off those existing relationships. for example, if i want something to be moody, i'll go for darker tones. if it's a happy moody then it'll be a more analogous warm palette and the opposite for something sad-moody. for any color palette, there exists a situation in which it is needed and perfect for what it is able to express.
here's a sorta cluttered breakdown of that method of color selection for some of my digital works:

my other method is for when i'm just doing a sketch and want some cool colors, because it's a lot less controllable (in terms of achieving a certain "vibe"). i would first do a quick sketch in one tone, then color adjust with filters/curves, and then experiment with a bunch of blending layers to get some funkier colors. these palettes end up being a little more analogous and predictable, but you can get some cool stuff if you keep experimenting :)

what i do for bigger paintings is a little bit of a mix of the two. i'd pick the colors that i wanted first by vibe, lay down some very rough flats, and then color adjust/add blending layers until it looked the way i was envisioning it (or became even better!).

Daemons as Food
Slaaneshi daemons have a more refined palette than other daemons of chaos, who are perfectly content gorging on raw flesh. Not that the Slaaneshi don't do this, but they have range and in cooked flesh, there is variety. And, they eat more than just mortals; other daemons are fair game as well.
And since daemons regenerate, it is entirely possible to farm them for their body parts, as these will just grow back.
Daemon Princes, each one being singularly unique even backed by a particular god, are the most diverse in taste, since they still retain their mortal souls (and ALL daemons enjoy a good mortal soul~).
Some mortals, namely ogres, are able to safely consume some daemons.
Khornate Daemons
There is a particular pleasure in anything that involves the overcoming of one of Khorne's creatures. Eating them is just the icing on the cake, the final dominance over a defeated foe.
Bloodletters are venomous; far from being a deterrent, the particular sufferings acquired from eating the cranial meat of these daemons is commonly indulged in for the sensation.
Khornate blood is typically not eaten, as it is often literally just magma, oil, or liquid brass. The latter may be used in the creation of ornate weaponry. However, Khornate blood itself may be used for cooking and flavoring of other meats, providing a smokey kind of taste.
Khornate meat is what is typically consumed. It is often tough; some Slaaneshi prefer "softening" these daemons first through forced immobilization to cause atrophy muscles. Some prefer quicker, more magical means, though others complain this alters the taste of the flesh.
Khornate hooves and sometimes their horns (Horns are often kept as a trophy, however) are ground and eaten, particularly during or in preparation for wars against Nurgle's forces, as they are known to confer immunity benefits to the otherwise fragile daemons of Slaanesh.
Khornate, particularly Bloodthirster, testicles are also consumed. These, the ears, and the nose of a Bloodthirster tend to be the softest tings on the daemon, and therefore are consumed first. Khornates kept for meat will have notable scarring around these areas.
Khornate milt is considered a delicacy and also works as an anaphrodisiac.
Khornate flesh hardens after injury, so keeping them for food purposes can be tricky. Frequently used food-daemons of khorne are given a break, called a Tendering or Softening period, in order to make sure their flesh doesn't become too tough.
It is dangerous to keep these daemons and often necessary to bind them with wards in one manner or another. However, the Khornate abjuration of magic makes even suppressing their murderous wrath difficult. Others simply fulminate after a time; it isn't unheard of for a Blood Keeper to survey their stock, only to find one has burst apart in a shower of gore.
Tzeentchian Daemons
With the exception of Lords of Change, Tzeentchians are considered rather bland as far as taste, at least compared to other daemons. A Slaaneshi would tell you they taste the closest to earth seafood, but very watered down.
When Slaaneshi talk about Tzeentchian meat, they are usually talking about Lords of Change. They are considered a delicacy.
The appearance of Lord of Change gives no indication as to how it will taste. A Lord who resembles a chicken could taste like a duck, a Lord who resembles a Turkey could taste like a Vulture. The range is vast, and not always tasty, but that's part of the fun of eating them. Some Slaaneshi claim they can predict taste from sight; so far these claims have been unfounded.
All daemons of Tzeentch are rich in aethyric energy and may be consumed when the Daemon needs to overcast a spell. Pink and Blue Horrors are given to some other food-daemons to enhance their flavor, but the nature of these daemons makes them hard to harness.
Tzeentchians are by far the trickiest daemons to catch, transport, and cook. There are Slaaneshi daemons within the Prince's realm who specialize in the practice and they are highly sought after by higher ranked daemons as associates.
Screamers of Tzeentch are perhaps the most commonly consumed of Tzeentch's daemons, since they are lured to the mortal world by emotion and carnage. These are never in short supply when a Slaaneshi troupe goes prancing. Though bland in taste, the ground down horns, spurs, and spikes of a Screamer can be used to enhance the intensity of a given emotion. They are fairly easy to coral, but particular dangerous to keep for Slaaneshi daemons, as these creatures can only be controlled by the will and focus of their masters. If that wavers, they begin to revert to their instincts and the master may indeed become prey.
Flamers are typically not eaten, but their polychromatic flame is used to flavor meat.
A side-effect of regular consumption of Tzeentch's creatures is mutation. These tend to be minor, but nonetheless. The stigmata or regular Tzeentch enjoyers may manifest in additional eyes, limbs, patches of feathers or scales or a change in the involuntary eye, skin, or hair color of the daemon.
Nurglish Daemons
Only the most extreme of sensation seekers will consume the Nurglish Daemon and gamble on illness and decay. Most Slaaneshi avoid eating the Nurglites, for obvious reasons.
Certain strains of Nurglish flies are edible, though this is considered "lowly" behavior in Slaaneshi circles. Higher ranked Slaaneshi may do it for the experience, "slumming it" on a whim, but it would never be a routine thing.
The antlers and velvet of a Nurglish Daemon are both edible and can be used to bolster the immune system against other daemons of Nurgle if prepared correctly. However, is Nurgle is in ascendency, these are not consumed, as it has the opposite effect of causing illness and death.
Other Slaaneshi
Are eaten of course. Cannibalism is present in all daemons, whether under the same god or with different ones.
Slaaneshi are eaten more for their blood, which is used in wines.

we're never getting reputation (taylor's version) and here's why:
1. the color-coding
taylor's discography is very obviously and deliberately color-coded, each album strongly associated with a particular color or shade. although there is some overlap (1989's light blue vs midnights' dark blue), the variations are distinct enough to avoid any confusion between them. in that sense, b&w is an extremely inflexible color assignment, on account of not being... well, not a color. b&w is b&w (not to be confused with folklore's grey; monochrome ≠ b&w), there aren't exactly many (or any, as it were) ways to stretch that palette to the extent it'd successfully take on an identity (album) of its own. which i believe blondie is aware of, and on that basis i believe it was a deliberate choice. and why? it's not as though she'd exhausted all of her options. there are colors she has yet to use, as well as different shades, tones, and tints of already used colors that would've been just as viable. why take this extremely particular and inflexible palette and, essentially, risk shifting that association from one album to another? unless she wasn't risking anything.
2. the pre-ttpd announcement period
as is customary for her, in the weeks before the official announcement of ttpd, all of taylor's social medias began taking on a b&w color scheme. the same had happened with purple and speak now (taylor's version), with light blue and 1989 (taylor's version), so on and so forth. a kind of unique mass-hysteria ensued as all signs pointed to reputation (taylor's version.) as it turned out, every last one of us was wrong in that assumption. if reputation (tv) were to drop, she'd have to go the b&w route again—which, for one, would in this case be predictable (we got bamboozled once, no way is it happening again) and that's very much not her style; and for two... there'd be no novelty. doing the same bit twice, really? not her!
3. the themes of reputation
reputation centered two core concepts: joe & falling out of public favor. a "good" thing and a "bad" thing. this would remain true for several years after the fact, yet no longer is—instead having turned into two "bad" things. i would not blame her if she chose not to return to this notably awful period of her life by way of re-recording, especially given the fact that the thing—person—that was once a shining star in all that proverbial darkness simply blends into the void with the way things are now. and while, yes, she had re-recorded songs about her exes, she'd only done so after a long while has passed. not only was this the longest relationship she's ever had and therefore likely uniquely devastating, the breakup itself is also very recent.
4. the contrast and the timing
and continuing the last point, only last year she'd dropped a couple devastating songs about this relationship on midnights, followed by more than a fair share of them on ttpd. doubtless she's still moving on/healing (judging by ttpd); i simply do not see her delving into an album that'd dredge up all those memories of the good times, the better times—not to mention that ttpd and rep are as antithetical to each other as it gets. if she'd recorded lover any earlier and had no ownership of it, for very similar reasons i wouldn't believe she'd re-record that one either.
4. the ttpd logo (NOT!!! my finding!)

now i never put much stock into this when i first saw it, as whoever had found it had taken it to mean "yay reputation (tv) soon!" and i simply did not agree. i actually thought it was a really freaky coincidence. bc, c'mon. let's be serious. however, i did realize it sort of fits remarkably well into my "ttpd is replacing rep because ttpd is reputation (taylor's version) in fewer words."
