You know I wish fatphobia was less pervasive. Even among people who consider themself as progressive, it's rampant. So quick reminder. No it's actually not easy to stop being fat, and it sucks that we are treated differently for something we really can't control. Shaming a fat person for being fat, and shaming them for not having the "willpower" to become skinny- is bigotry. And if all you talk to fat people about is weight loss and dieting- congratulations! You're being a dick! Stop.

letting celebrities think they can and should "use their platform" to speak on all current events and political issues regardless of how educated they are on them was a grave mistake

Israeli National Security has agreed to allow 2 fuel trucks into Gaza per day- 3% of the what entered daily before October 7th. This fuel will be used to operate the sewage systems in Gaza because the risk of a major disease developing and spreading is imminent.
The reason Israel agreed to this is because if a disease were to break out the IDF wouldn’t be fully operational and the “war would have to stop.”

It’s never overstated to me when people are like “work out bc it makes you feel better” bc it literally does. I think what I used to get hung up on is making the perfect schedule / wanting to know what I was doing right away. But it’s also okay to flounder at first and experiment w things and figure out what works for you and your body. The important thing is you’re starting out bc your body really will thank you for it later down the line. You cannot keep pushing it off it will add up

Tom's line about Shiv being selfish and "find[ing] it very hard to think about me" is actually so telling because while it's absolutely true that she rarely takes his position into consideration, Tom never once thinks about what he can do to help Shiv unless it also benefits him.
Every single time he makes a move or sacrifice that might help her, it's always something that he thinks will give him a leg up. He volunteers to take the fall for cruises, not for Shiv, who is in no way implicated, or even for Waystar, but because he thinks it'll ingratiate him to Logan, and the second it seems like he might have to actually follow through on that, he immediately tries to get out of it and even throws Shiv under the bus. Meanwhile, for all that Shiv disregards his interests, there are a number of things she does that only help him, and she's the one who actually sacrifices something and undermines her position with Logan to beg him not to let Tom go to jail.
It just makes it so clear that no matter how much he might love her (and I think he does, in his own compromised way), for him their relationship was always built on the underlying assumption that it's her job to prop him up, but it's not his job to help her.

my jgy thoughts have been expanding and adapting and roiling and toiling etc etc etc and all of it is coming down to me affectionately marveling at this character. he’s cut-throat. he’s cunning. his kindness leaves lasting impressions. his mercy is what predates his demise. he’s one of the few cultivators who helps those in need. he will sacrifice them if it benefits him. he loved. it didn’t last. it killed him. it orchestrated his downfall. he’s a genius. he’s paranoid. he compartmentalizes. he splits the world into who he would sacrifice and who he would not. people he loves and people he would sacrifice are not mutually exclusive. he’s filial to a fault. it was all for his mother. he is a study in assimilating to survive. the results vary. he manipulates the herd mentality to his benefit. it is turned against him. he is killed for the one thing he didn’t do by the one person he wouldn’t sacrifice. it is still somehow better than what the hive-mind cultivation world would have done. i love this tragic kaleidoscope of a character.

I made and deleted a post about this a few weeks ago but I've been thinking a lot about projecting onto toxic ships/dynamics in fiction, and not onto the romantic parts ("I relate to Pete in Vegaspete because I want someone to unlock me to human touch") but onto the very toxic parts ("I relate to Vegas in Vegasporsche because he's lying his ass off and orchestrating Porsche's downfall, and mentally blaming Porsche for everything he's planning to do to him, for believing the wrong things and choosing the wrong side, AND for falling for Vegas's obvious facade! Dummy I've always been your enemy it's SO OBVIOUS!! Yet in the moment, when they're riding bikes or hugging and Vegas is compartmentalizing, he does genuinely care about Porsche and feel honest affection for him, and that's what sells the lie... and makes Vegas hate himself for his traitorous weakness and want to sabotage any sincere moments they have"), and how huge this distinction feels to me.
So I wanted to do like a Tell me the most toxic fictional thing you overidentify with meme.
Not sure that's the best way to word it, and you don't have to (and probably shouldn't) explain why, but like. Don't tell me "I relate to Korn as a parent;" tell me "I relate to Korn when he's preventing his children from competing by pitting them against their cousins instead, because he can blame that on their grandfather and his brother and not himself, and pretend his kids are fine and it's just the cousins who are getting destroyed". Does that make sense? This way also I don't have to know your toxic blorbo to understand your toxic emotion.
Anyway do it

the line between ten's senses of selfishness and selflessness is very very thin because they both primarily stem from his sense of love (the thing he was born out of and the thing he lives and dies for). btw.

Littles can have other roles besides just being a little (as is true with every alter role).
Littles can be caretakers. They can be protectors. They can be trauma holders or symptom holders. Hell, they can even be sexual trauma holders or just sexual alters.
Every system is different, and every system has different needs. What's true for one system will never be true for all systems.
(Check out tags if you want my opinions specifically on the "littles can’t consent" debate)

Hello.
I do not post for DSMP anymore, but for the record, although I will be keeping my c!Wilbur content up, I will no longer be creating for him at any point and no longer continue to support cc!Wilbur.
Shubble's abuser is almost certainly him. It is okay to be hurt by this possibility, but if you watch Shubble's vod and take the time to read the corroborating evidence posted by other individuals, there is no one else it could be; it is unproductive and not to mention disrespectful to deny it.
If you feel as though you cannot accept this reality right now, log off, take some time away, and focus on yourself. Wilbur is a grown adult man and does not need his fans to defend him. You are enabling him if you do.

It feels like the nature of existing as an autistic transmasc is being constantly misunderstood to an extreme :/ It feels as though people all my life have been telling me how I’m feeling, what I really meant when I said that, how I should have reacted; am I sure I’m not making it up? To get attention? To feel special?
It’s a fun mix of misogyny & ableism, both of which tend to tie in with transandrophobia (transmascphobia? isomisogyny? anti-transmasculinity? whatever words we’re allowed to use today. “Did you hear how many times you said ‘like’ in that sentence?”). But just overall I feel like everyone looks through me all the time & tries to tell me about my own life. And it used to work.

very happy Matt decided to clarify his stance on the genocide of the Palestinian people rn. Pretty unhappy with the way he worded it, who he centered in his video, and disappointed to see the responses to it on Twitter.
kinda scared to even post about it bc CR fans can get so defensive about their favorite white people that they can often leave little room for criticism or nuance. but man I have thoughts.

unintentional dad bf!mirio x f!reader thoughts (no smut)
you’re reaching towards a top shelf in the grocery store which, for some reason, has display shelves taller than necessary. you’re ready to scale the shelves when mirio steps in.
“woah, hey, let me help.” he reaches up and grabs the box of cereal with ease. “all you had to do was ask, sweetness,” he says with a grin.
“thanks, daddy.”
it wasn’t intentional. it just happened. you didn’t realize what you’d said until mirio stopped in his tracks.
“h-huh?”
you’re both turning red now as you try to cover your mistake. “i said thanks, baby. i think that’s everything we need, yeah?”
mirio’s bright smile returns as he tells himself of course he misheard you, right?…
“yeah, that’s the last thing on the list,” he says. mirio grabs your hand, dwarfed by his large, warm one and guides you along as you walk together. “let’s get out of here.”
