Dedicated To New Lovers
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Reader (she/her pronouns)
WC: ~5.5k
TW: Murder, Angst, Character Death, guns, violence, blood, swearing, depression, mentions of disordered eating, mentions of insomnia, self-deprecating thoughts, loneliness, heartbreak, Mentions of Emily's death, the grieving process, drinking, screaming, crying, sobbing, throwing up, being under pressure
A/N: This is based on s8 ep12, Zugzwang. It deviates slightly but still makes Spencer sob so it could basically be canon. Obviously, or maybe not to some people, this fic is based off of Night Shift by Lucy Dacus. It's been my obsession for the past couple weeks and I simply just had to write something for it. Now my one issue is, besides me ignoring editing it, is that I hate when things don't end happily, but I'm breaking out of the mold of everything ending with a nice neat little bow, so please enjoy! (well as much as you can for such a depressing fic lmao).

"Love is our true destiny. We do not find the meaning of life alone ---We find it with another." ~Thomas Merton.
“Thank you for such a wonderful night.” You murmured, pulling away from the kiss, hands on their chest. “I really enjoyed it Spe—”, you coughed and blinked a couple of times, catching yourself. “Especially,” You clutched your chest, smiling up at them, “Sorry I don’t know where that just came from.”
The lips you had just kissed had shifted into a concerned smile, but was none the wiser.
“Especially dessert. I loved the pie place, you were so right! The apple was just perfectly seasoned, and the crust was still crumbly.” You leaned up and kissed their cheek again.
“I’ll see you again, yeah?” You whispered, before turning around and heading into your apartment building, not waiting for a response, smile falling the second you weren’t looking at them. You buzzed yourself in and quickly walked up the four flights of stairs towards your door.
You fucking hated pie. Well that wasn’t true, but you didn’t really want to spend your evening going and getting pie with someone you really weren’t that into.
You couldn’t help but wonder why everything was wrong. They were kind, and sweet, and cared so much for you, but it just wasn’t the same. Your heart was just not in the place, and not a single butterfly fluttered around in your stomach, you couldn’t figure out what was wrong with you.
Well that was a lie too. You knew exactly what was wrong.
“I’m fine, it’s fine.” You mumbled, getting your keys out and unlocking your front door, grabbing the mail off of the mat, and closing the door behind you.
The boxes stacked precariously around your place just left you feeling more and more destitute on this island of loneliness. God you were so fucking dramatic. You dumped the roses they had given you, and your purse onto the kitchen counter, and went straight for the fridge, grabbing the bottle of Prosecco. The cork popped, and you took a swig straight from the bottle.
Your phone rang, and you pulled it out of your pocket, sighing and answering it.
“Hey Em.”
“Wow, was it that bad of a date?” Emily laughed a little. She had been concerned about you, the whole team had been concerned about you. Her death had hit you and Spencer the hardest. You had become fast friends with Emily, regardless of the fact that when she joined, you were the youngest, and newest on the team as well. The two of you had become fast friends, and even faster sisters. She was your everything. She was there for your father’s death, the start of your relationship with Spencer, the harder cases, the bitching, the girls nights, the everything. But you had run into the warehouse, and saw Derek cradling her hand, screaming for a medic, and you just lost it. Your brain went into overdrive, rendering you useless. When JJ walked into the waiting room and told all of you the news, you sat there, shocked. Spencer had tried to go see her, but you had just excused yourself and walked out to the parking lot. It was devastating. You were allowed back from leave a week later than everyone else because Hotch knew you needed more time. So when she walked back into the round room, alive and well, your barely pieced together mind completely shattered all over again.
You watched for seven months as Spencer let you grieve alone while running off to JJ’s house for comfort. You had sat alone in your shared apartment becoming more and more of a shell of a person, not really eating, sleeping, or even drinking water; you were barely existing. Five years of a relationship washed away because that first night, instead of comforting each other, Spencer had abandoned you at the hospital, forgetting to even drive you home. Then, when his headaches got, he pulled even further away, only hearing snippets of how he was doing from those on the team who didn’t even live with him.
The team could only watch as you slowly became a ghost of yourself, while Spencer couldn’t even give a shit to notice.
The first time he mentioned Maeve to you, it was like a stake in your chest. You had caught him talking to her when you had come back early from the therapy Hotch had almost threatened you at gunpoint to go to. He quickly hung up the phone and mentioned that she was his doctor, helping him with his headaches. But you knew better. You had heard him laughing before you walked into the apartment. You hadn’t heard him laugh since before Emily had “died”.
Then, one night, he told you it was over.  I don’t love you anymore.
You just sat there, chest caving in on yourself.
Since this was my place first, uh…I can give you a couple of weeks to find a place, and I’ll even sleep on the couch…
His words bounced around in your head before Emily said your name. “You disappeared on me.”
“Shit-uh, shit. Sorry Em.” You shook your head, and pinched your brow. “They were really lovely Em, just the best. But I’m just not ready.”
Emily sighed, “I know it’s only been four months but I’m proud of you, I really am. For even going out in the first place. Want me to come over, bring a new bottle of prosecco.”
You laughed, but it had no substance. “How’d you know I was almost out of Prosecco.”
Emily sighed. “I know you’re a grown woman who can handle living alone, but Sergio and I wouldn’t have minded if you stayed with us for a couple more weeks.”
“And I know that, and I love you so much for it, but the only way I’m ever going to be able to…” the words got stuck in your throat. “I, um. I had to.”
Emily sighed, but understood. “Okay, well, if you need anything, I’m a phone call away, or a block away, whichever is faster for you.”
“Thanks Emily. I’ll see you tomorrow.” And with that you hung up the phone, not wanting to prolong the conversation any more than it had.
“Fucking Maeve.” You grumbled to the living room before taking another swig from the bottle. You barely slept these days. Your date this past night? The first time you had eaten a full meal in over two weeks. Your skin was a little more gaunt, and the concealer you were using was working overtime to hide the bags under your eyes. You were once someone filled with so much joy, and so much love to give. Everyone knew you were a touchy person, always giving hugs, touching people’s arms, squeezing their hands; if someone tried to touch you now, your whole body would tense up, your stomach would flip. Eventually, after finishing off the bottle, you fell into a restless sleep on the couch of your apartment, since you didn’t want to sleep alone in your own mattress, dreaming about the fact that someone else was probably in the one you bought with Spencer all those years ago when he asked you to live with him.  ------------------------------------------------------------------------
The office went silent as you walked into work the next morning. You were always one to arrive early, make your coffee, visit Penelope in the Bat Cave, stop by Hotch and Rossi’s offices and wish them a good morning. But these days you walked through those glass doors exactly at 9 am, unless you were called in.
It was masochistic to still work at the BAU, but it was one dream you weren’t going to let Spencer take away from you. But as you walked into the bullpen, and all heads turned towards you with such pitiful looks, you doubted whether you belonged here anymore.
Before you could place your bag down, Aaron walked over to you and quietly asked if you would come into his office. You obliged, a sinking feeling in your gut, as you followed Hotch, while the eyes of everyone else followed you.
As Hotch opened the door, you froze. Spencer was sitting on the couch, trying to wipe away the tears in his eyes. He clearly also hadn’t been sleeping, but you knew those tears weren’t for you. You stayed in the doorway until Hotch gestured to one of the chairs along the side of his office. You moved away from the door, but stayed standing, refusing to sit down. Hotch closed the door, trapping you in his office with someone you hadn’t spoken more than necessary to in over four months.
“Do you want to tell me why I'm here.” You asked calmly, trying to ignore the desperate man on the couch, who was just staring down at his feet.
“I am going to ask you to sit out this case.” Hotch looked at you, not sitting down either, ready to calm down whatever fight you’re about to put up.
Your eyes narrowed at your section chief and you scoffed. “You better have a seriously good explanation Hotch because as I’ve told you many times before, I’m doing fine. I don’t know what has been said, but I’m perfectly capable at—”
“I asked him if you could sit out.” Spencer’s voice was hoarse, but solid as he looked at you.
You closed your eyes and flexed one of your hands, resisting the urge to punch him in the teeth.
“Since when do you know what’s best for me, Doctor Reid.” It took all of your control to stay civil and not curse him out in front of your boss.
“That’s not it.” Spencer licked his lips but he quickly averted his gaze. “T-The case. It’s um. It’s about Maeve and I–”
Your heart dropped. Bile started to rise in your throat. “oh.” You had never felt so small in your life. Tears were forming in your eyes. “I’ll be right…I—”
You barely even finished the thought before you opened the door, and quickly walked out of Hotch’s office. No one even tried to pretend that they weren’t watching Hotch’s office. Emily and Derek shot up off of their desks and immediately went to follow you as you sped down the stairs and through the bullpen. Hotch just looked down at his feet while Reid just rubbed his hands over his eyes.
You shoved through the doors, accidentally bumping into Penelope on the way out, causing her to drop the files and coffee mug in her hand. It shattered on the ground, but you couldn’t stop to apologize. You needed to be in the bathroom before you became the agent who threw up all over the halls because of some stupid broken heart.
Emily had quickly helped Penelope pick things up, the two exchanging hushed whispers and looks. Derek had apologized to Penelope while he ran past, catching up to you with every stride. You shoved open the door to one of the woman’s rooms, Derek right behind you.
Luckily for you, it was empty, so you could continue running to the biggest stall, before dropping to your knees and throwing up. It burned your throat and your eyes, stinging every inch of skin as it rose up your throat and into the toilet in front of you.
Derek had pulled back your hair, and was now sitting down next to you as you dry heaved into the toilet. You only threw up actual substance one more time, but it was just that stupid fucking apple pie and the Prosecco from the night before. There was nothing else in your stomach to throw up, so your body settled for making you gag continuously.
“Fuck.” You cried into the toilet, letting yourself fully devolve into the mess you were destined to become this morning.
Derek just rubbed your back, “It’s okay pretty girl, let it all out.”
“Derek Morgan I think I am the ugliest son of a bitch right now.” You mumbled, reaching up and flushing the contents down the drain, tears still racing down your face. “I can’t fucking—” You tried to breathe in but your body was shutting down. That’s all it seemed to do these days. It felt like the only way to protect yourself anymore. “He–”
“I know.” He whispered softly, offering you some toilet paper to let you wipe off your face, as you leaned back, away from the toilet.
That’s when the first sob wracked your body. Maybe you weren’t meant to be on this team anymore. Spencer had been here longer. You were only an asset to the team because of your positive attitude which left your body the second Emily Prentiss was pronounced dead in that waiting room. You were the definition of useless. I mean, Derek and Emily were partners, Hotch and Rossi had everything down pat, and Spencer, even when you were dating, was truly partnered with JJ most of the time. You were the odd man out, and you were fucking useless.
Derek had pulled you into his chest, hugging you as the sobs continued. His heart was breaking for you. No one on the team really knew what had happened that night, all they knew was that you didn’t come in one day, and then when you did the next, you looked like shit. All while Spencer seemed fine. Then, when your desk was moved to the opposite side of the bullpen, it confirmed any and all guesses the profilers had been making. You were never paired with him on cases anymore, and if you were, there was always a third person. You barely looked at one another. Spencer’s scarf had reappeared on his desk one morning, and suddenly you were no longer staying in the same hotel rooms. Derek just kissed your head as you let your body give up.
He wasn’t stupid. Like everyone else, he had noticed the way you had been losing weight. He had noticed the amount of makeup you had started to wear. He even realized that he hadn’t seen you eat any meals with them in the past couple months while they were out on cases. But what he hadn’t fully realized was the fact that you were dead, inside and out. There was nothing left of you but the barely alive body he was holding.
Spencer had really gotten a good look at you for the first time in a very long time. He had already felt guilty about the fact that he had Maeve, and that you had broken up he had broken your heart. But what he had failed to realize was the same thing Derek had–You were someone entirely different, a ghost of yourself. The guilt was gnawing through his stomach when he told Hotch what was going on, and he had begged Hotch to let you sit out, trying to save you from this, but clearly Spencer couldn’t do anything right for you anymore, he hadn’t been able to in a very long time. Hotch had cleared his throat while Spencer shook his head. “I-I tried Hotch, I really didn’t want…”
He just nodded at Spencer. “I know Reid, but you must have known there was no way this conversation was going to go any better than that.”
Reid just nodded, and stood up, going out into the bullpen, not missing the way all of their eyes snapped to him, as Penelope dumped her broken mug into the trash.
Before anyone could say anything, Hotch walked out of his office and looked at everyone. “As you all could have guessed, Agent Y/L/N will not be joining us on this case. I expect everyone in the conference room in ten.” and with that, Hotch walked past Reid, and down the stairs, out towards where he had assumed you had run off too.
Spencer just stood on the stairs, watching Hotch walk to you, wishing it could be him to hold you in his arms.
Hotch opened the door to the women’s bathroom, and saw Derek cradling you. As you heard the door open, your body had tensed up and all of your tears had stopped. Derek and Hotch shared a look before Hotch kneeled down.
“Sorry Aaron.” You mumbled, trying to wipe away the remaining tears on your face.
“Don't apologize. Take the next couple of days off. Penelope might call and ask you a question or two, if she manages to forgive you for breaking her third favorite coffee mug…”
You laughed slightly at his joke, trying not to let it cause you to cry even more, wiping away more tears.
“But I expect you don’t need me to tell you this is an order.”
You nodded at Hotch while you stood up, Derek quickly following suit. “We’re meeting in ten.” He nodded at Derek, who took the hint. He squeezed your arm, and kissed your head, whispering to call him if you needed anything, before leaving just you and Hotch alone in the bathroom. He held up your purse and gave you a sympathetic smile.
“I am only a phone call away Y/n. If anything happens, I want to be the first to know.” He nodded at you, only for you to pull him into a hug. Hotch smiled slightly, because you hadn’t really hugged anyone for a while, so he quickly reciprocated before pulling away. “Hotch, can I ask you one more favor?”
“Anything,” He said softly.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once he had left, You grabbed a paper towel from the dispenser and tried to wipe as much of the mascara track marks off. You eventually just wiped off your whole face of makeup. You stared at yourself, realizing just how fucked you were. Eventually, you had made your way out of the bathroom, and past the bullpen. Everyone was piling into the conference room, but Spencer had stopped to watch you enter the elevator, really looking at you. You made eye contact right as the doors started to close. Spencer’s gut twisted at the forlorn look on your face. But before he could do anything, the doors were closed, you were gone, and his name was called by Hotch. -------------------------------------------------------------------------
According to the updates from Emily and Derek, the case was not going well. You knew very little about it, and you wanted to keep it this way, but you knew this case wasn’t going to end well. You could just tell.
You had been existing in your own apartment, making frequent trips to Emily’s to keep your favorite cat company. You would go on long walks as the sun set, nowhere truly in mind, just wandering around trying to think about anything else. You would listen to your music, trying to take your mind off of the man who you hadn’t been able to stop thinking about since you first joined the team. It could have been yesterday based on how well you remembered it.
But instead of wallowing, you tried to at least wallow in public, resolving to minimize the sheer amount of pity parties you had been throwing yourself.
Three days later, you had been walking around aimlessly, just trying to hit your new goal of 10,000 steps a day to start being active again, when your phone rang. You had answered it without a thought in the world since usually it was Derek, Hotch, and Emily on the other end.
But this time, it was none of them.
“Hello?” Spencer’s entire body froze once he heard your voice, once he knew that Diane knew who you were.
“I just want her to see one more thing.”
“Hello?” You asked again, just about to hang up, thinking it was some sort of prank call when a woman spoke to you.
“Is this Doctor Y/N Y/L/N?” Maeve looked over at Spencer, confusion and horror in her eyes, while Spencer just stared at the phone, willing for you to hang up.
“Um, yes? May I ask who this is…”
“My name is Diane.”
“Um, okay, Diane. Can I ask why you’re calling me.” You had just walked into your apartment, Spencer could hear the unfamiliar creek of the door as it slammed shut.
“What do you know about Doctor Maeve Donovan.”
Your whole body froze. “What?” barely even whispering out your response.
“What do you know about Maeve.” Her temper exploded, and you just sat there trying to breathe.
“Wh-what do you want to know about her?” You had taken several courses in negotiation, taught by David Rossi himself, so your training started to kick in, but your panic was fighting strongly against it. You just couldn't bring yourself to say her name.
The team was outside of the building, when Garcia had called and tapped them into the phone call Diane was making. When they heard your voice, all of them froze. This was not what she was supposed to do. How the hell did she even know about you?
“I want you to tell me about how she ruined your life.”
Spencer tried to speak but Diane pointed the gun at Maeve, making him go silent. Maeve had started silently crying, unable to believe this is what her life had become.
“I–, You want me to tell you about some woman I have never met?”
“Yes yes yes. Why won’t any of you fucking listen.” You recieved a text on your watch, from Hotch, briefing you on the fact that Diane had both Spencer and Maeve hostage in the warehouse she was calling from.
You took a shaky inhale before biting your lips. “I want to know that they’re both okay Diane. I need to hear both Spencer and M..Maeve speak.” God this was so fucking hard, it hurt so fucking badly.
Diane rolled her eyes before nodding at Maeve. “H-hi.” She whispered. “I’m so, so sorry. I didn’t—” she was cut off but the barrel of the gun pushed against her head.
All you could do was clutch your fist while she spoke, because you realized you couldn’t be angry at her for falling in love with Spencer, because you had too.
“And Spencer?” Your voice cracked out, desperate to hear his voice.
“Go on Spencer. Tell her you’ve been okay without her.”
Spencer winced and spoke up, dying for you to just hang up the phone. “I’m here Y/N.”
The way he said your name made you want to curl up into a ball and die, but it wasn’t good enough for Diane.
“Not good enough Spencer. Tell her how you ruined her life. She deserves to hear it from you since you broke her just like you broke me for loving the ONE WOMAN I DESERVED TO BE LOVED BY.”
Spencer heard the sharp intake of your breath. He could hear you trying not to cry. After everything, he never wanted to hurt you, but clearly he had fucked himself over and over with every single decision he made. He knew you knew he was playing along with her fantasy, but he knew that you hearing these words would ruin your life more than any gunshot would.
“Tell me Spencer.” You breathed out, knowing if he continued to play along, maybe he could make it out of this alive, regardless of everything that had gone on between the two of you.
“Please.” Spencer turned to Diane. “She has nothing to do with this, let her hang up the ph–”
“If she hangs up, I shoot Maeve and let you watch as she dies.”
And there it was. There was a small, awful part of you that wanted to hang up the phone right then and there. Let him suffer and feel the pain you had been feeling for months and months. Your silence was enough to let Spencer know you were struggling, which hurt him even more because that same small part of him knew he deserved it, forgiveness for you and all.
The team listened to the silence, some of them waiting for the dial tone, others grieving the shit you put yourself through just for someone who didn't love you anymore.
“Would you rather I tell you how he ruined my life, just like he did yours?” You breathed out, finally saying something. The entire SWAT team, along with your team was listening in, everyone was waiting with bated breath to hear--everyone wanted to know.
Prentiss looked over at Hotch. “Hotch we can’t let her do this. It…”
But Hotch just shook his head. “If we hang up the phone, Maeve dies, and if nobody complies with Diana, both Spencer and Maeve die.”
Rossi spoke up. “You have to trust her, she’s negotiating. She’s buying us time. Whether or not we should be listening to this is the real question.”
All of them went silent after that, a decision had been made.
Diane’s face twisted into a smile. “I’d love too.”
You closed your eyes and let out a shaky breath. “D-Do you know what it’s like, Diane, to walk into work every morning and have every single person who promises you they care about you over and over and over again just stare at you like you're some sort of wounded puppy? Watching as they handle you like a glass figurine that they all feel responsible for breaking, and yet the one person who threw you against the wall doesn’t even notice.”
Diane huffed, but she nodded. ”Keep going.”
“Do you know how long we were together?”
Spencer couldn’t decide who the question was for.
“Tell me Spencer. Tell me how many days of her life you threw away just to love someone who you’ve never met before..”
He couldn’t look at Maeve. He couldn’t look at Diane. Your heart had given out right then and there, they had never even met in person. He had fallen in love with a woman he'd never seen before.
“Tell her Spencer.” You voice came out harsher than intended, your resolve was gone, but it made Diane smile even more, becoming comfortable with the taste of venom in your mouth.
His voice wavered. “Five years, two months, nine days, and three hours.”
You let out something resembling a controlled sob, which had Diane’s smile growing by the second. Maeve just stared at him, and Spencer couldn’t tell if she was horrified or upset or just sad.
“You threw away over five years worth of love, to ruin my relationship?”
“Diane.” You said suddenly, trying to get her attention back off of the two people she was holding hostage.
“What.” She was starting to become irritated, ancy, waving the gun around more.
“Want to know the worst part about it.”
“If you tell it to me quickly because I’m running out of patience Y/N.”
“He’s making me transfer departments.”
Your big secret was out.
“What.” Spencer breathed out, the shock spread across his face. He couldn’t imagine the bullpen without you, and when he wasn't on the phone with Maeve, he couldn’t stop thinking about you. The days where you weren’t near him went by torturously slow, and all he could do was hope that you might look at him again, let him apologize, let him fix this. Diane watched as the pain flashed across Spencer's face, enjoying it.
The team all turned to Hotch, hoping that she was bluffing. But Hotch just looked down at the ground, confirming the awful truth.
“I just finished putting in my transfer today.” You didn't know who you were explaining it to–the team, to Diane, or to Spencer, maybe all of them.
“Being around him, knowing he doesn’t lo—” You went silent for a second before switching gears. “This was my dream.” Your lips started talking, and everyone listened intensely. “I trained specifically for the BAU. I got three Bachelors in worthless shit so that the FBI would spike its interest in me so that I could get into the academy and prove myself to Agent Hotchner. Prove myself to Jason Gideon. Then I went and got a PhD in Psychology with focuses in Trauma and Forensic Sciences. And I fucking loved it. I had finally proven to myself that maybe, just maybe, I was good enough. I finally found a place I belonged, with the people I belonged with. And I was so fucking good at my job Diane. You wouldn’t even comprehend it. But he took all of it from me. Every last bit of joy was sucked out of my body the minute he told me he didn’t love me anymore. The minute he didn’t even apologize for breaking my heart and ruining everything I worked so hard for. And then he still expected me to be at my best, getting pissed when I would be distracted, disrespecting me and my intelligence in front of our peers, our friends. He neglected our relationship, abandoning me when I needed him the most, and then expected me to love him all the same. The audacity is through the fucking roof.”
Spencer was just staring at the phone, heart beating loudly in his chest. “And the honest to god truth Diane, the worst part of it all, I would forgive him in a heartbeat. I don’t even know why I would, I feel no fucking reason to forgive him, but I might as well. If he asked me to greet him on the tarmac and kiss him once this case is over and he survives, I might, just so I can remember how it felt to be loved. He barely noticed that I had stopped eating, or didn’t care enough to say anything. He didn't do shit when I would show up half an hour late to the jet because I was so exhausted that I fell asleep at my desk, because I haven’t slept in months. He just doesn’t care anymore and I’d rather die than step foot into Quantico again because losing him was already too much to fucking bare. I’d rather never see him ever again, if I can help it.”
You exhaled, feeling the slightest weight off of your chest, but your words were calculated. The end of your rant held some truth to it, both you and Spencer knew that, but something about the last line of what you had said was bugging Emily.
She turned to Hotch. “Rossi is right, she’s stalling.”
“But?” JJ asked her, looking at the building, before looking back at Emily.
“She’s trying to get Diane to shoot Spencer to save Maeve.”
Just as the entire team realized this, they heard Spencer’s voice, steady and unwavering. “I told her not to come on this case because I knew she would have slowed us down.”
Your brain shortcircuited as a hand came up to cover up your sob. Not because what he said was the truth but because Spencer knew what you were doing, and he was trying to do the same thing.
“She’s been useless ever since our friend was killed during a case almost two years ago. She’s barely intelligent, and all she does for this team, truly, is parade around with a positive attitude that gets on on everyone else's nerves because she could never put as much effort into anything as you clearly have.”
Diane walked over to him, squatting down in front of him. “I want to hear you say it to her Spencer.”
Your mouth betrayed you as a soft whimper came through the phone. Spencer didn't mean all of this, he couldn't have, but hearing the words still burned you alive.
“I-I…You slow this team down, and I have always thought you were a waste of space. I never loved you…” And if it wasn't for the slight change in pitch right as he said never, Diane would have believed him, but she pulled away glaring at Spencer.
“Liar.” She hissed at him. “Liar, Liar, LIAR.”
All you could hear through the phone was a muffled struggle before a shot rang out. You heard a second one and heard Spencer land near the phone. You couldn’t make a single sound, conjuring up the worst scenarios in your head. You could hear him trying to negotiate with Diane. You could hear Maeve struggling to breathe. You heard him begging to take her place, you heard Diane screaming about Thomas Merton.
You heard Spencer scream out wait before a gun shot rang out through the warehouse. Everyone was silent, for all you knew Spencer was dead. He had been shot agasin and killed, and the last thing you would have ever said to him was that you never wanted to see him again. But then, you heard Spencer start sobbing. The small twisted part of you came back and was so relieved that he was okay, that he was alive. But listening to the man you would die for cry over another woman’s body made your skin turn inside out. You had out your phone on speaker for your rant, leaving it on the counter. You reached for it, ready to hang up. But that’s when you heard your name.
Spencer had sobbed your name.
He scrambled over to the phone and frantically repeated your name over and over until you interrupted him.
“Spencer.”
“I’m so fucking sorry.” He whispered, sitting against the wall unable to look at the bodies on the floor. "I didn't...I didn't mean any of it, I swear."
“Spencer. I–” You inhaled sharply. “It’s selfish but I’m glad you’re still alive.” You whispered out, causing Spencer to let out another sob.
"Y/N I-I'm so sorry. I-Can you..."
“I-I can’t do this Spence. I’m so sorry.” You whispered, your heart shattering all over again. “I can’t….I’m sorry.” And with that, you hung up, leaving Spencer on the floor, heartbroken and sobbing, truly losing both women he had ever loved in the matter of seconds.

The first time Mattheo noticed how Nerdy you were was when he overheard you talking to Luna Lovegood. He was quite confused at first since it was clear you were talking about some muggle show but it was very obvious you were gushing over it.
Mattheo had been out for a walk in the forbidden forest, looking for a place to smoke when he had seen you and Luna. Luna was feeding some of the animals in the forest when he had heard you start speaking.
“And then one of my favorite muggle shows is called Teen Wolf, it’s about this teenager named Scott Mcall who gets bitten by a werewolf and he’s actually like really cute. But people seem to like him less than his best friend, and his name is Stiles. Stiles is like my dream man, he’s so stupid and smart at the same time. He’s also like totally in love with this girl named Lydia Martin, she’s like kind of a bitch but she’s also super smart and I actually really love her. She’s probably one of my first girl crushes. Oh and don’t even get me started on Derek Hale or Theo or Liam. OR the dread doctors, they were actually quite scary from time to time.” His eyes lit up in amusement once he heard how quickly you were talking, you were so lost in your rambling that you didn’t notice him standing against a tree, attempting to not laugh at you.
He absolutely thought it was adorable how much you cared about the plot and characters of this television show.
The next time he became aware of your Nerdy tendencies was when he stopped by your dorm. Your roommate had been out and when he walked in, all he saw was you laying on the floor in front of a television screen. There was a Scottish man on the screen talking to another man. Before he made his presence known, you had recited the lines the characters were speaking.
“Compensating? For what? Regenerations a lottery.” Mattheo walked over towards your bed, picking up a pillow and throwing it at you. It hit you in the back of the head and you swiftly turned. Immediately pausing the show and standing when you realized it was Mattheo.
“What are you doing here? It’s my Doctor Who time.” You said with a slight frown on your face, like you were genuinely sad about him interfering with the show.
“Is this what you do in your free time?” He snorted, before sitting down on your bed. Mattheo gestured for you to press play again and you happily did so when you realized he wasn’t going to say anything mean to you.
Mattheo honestly found it funny and cute when you were Nerdy. You were already a Ravenclaw but he didn’t expect you to be so open about your interests.
The third time Mattheo had seen you being Nerdy, it was for potions class. But you had kept talking about how much you liked science when you were younger. Something called Chemistry.
“Okay Mattheo, go grab the next ingredients, I’m gonna sit here and stir the cauldron because otherwise it could explode. Which would be kind of fun but I like when things don’t blow up.” Mattheo does as you say, going to grab the next list of ingredients for a potion. This was a more complicated one that required a lot of eyes on the cauldron at all times.
The last and final time, the MOST Nerdy possible thing he could have witnessed was you having a competition with Harry. You had a bet placed on you where whoever knows the most digits of Pi, gets all the money that was bet on them. Harry had got to 3.14 on his paper and you were already 6 digits ahead of him. You were humming a tune to yourself as you scribbled down the answers on the paper. The timer for a minute went off and in total you had written 100 digits of Pi.
And as Nerdy and weird as you are (because literally who needs to know 100 digits of Pi?) He absolutely ADORED it. He loved how oddly smart you were with certain things. And he loved how you would ramble on and on about something random, even if it wasn’t important to the task at hand.
In fact, Mattheo loved how Nerdy you are, so much, that when he bought you a custom bracelet with his name on it. The inside of the bracelet had a sentence on it.
“wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff”

Can you do a post about how each character reacts to you getting cussed out by your parents for no reason? Please pookie 🙏🙏
a/n: i made this super quick so im sorry if it’s rough.
mike schmidt would glare at them from across the table. in this scenario, you would be at dinner over at your parents’ place. mid dinner they would find a reason to scold you in a harsh manner, you become tense and embarrassed not even wanting to glance over at mike. he would notice this, he would hate the tone your parents used with you, he would drop his silverware down onto his plate not caring about the annoyingly loud sound that comes from his utensils and the porcelain plate. he wouldn’t say anything to them, he would glare at them, his brows furrowed and his eyes piercing black and then stand up, the chair screeching horribly against the tile. “we’re leaving,” he’d announce, grabbing your hand. he knew you didn’t want to be in the situation, he knew you didn’t deal well with being scolded but especially being insulted by your own parents. he would apologise, telling you how you don’t have to go back there if you don’t want to, how he’ll make sure to take care for you.
derek danforth is usually a dickhead let’s be real. but. the moment he catches your parents telling you off from afar he’s quick to approach you. “what the fuck is going on?” he asks, clearly upset. you look over at derek ready to apologise on behalf of you and your parents, then: “get the fuck out before i fucking call security.” he grabs you, snaking his arm around your waist and pulling you away from the scenery, he could tell how overwhelmed you were by the situation with the mere look on your face. “you alright, sweetheart?”
peeta mellark will hate hearing them tell you off. like mike, he’ll say nothing but definitely excuse the two of you. when your parents call after you, he’ll turn around to them, shielding you with his body, his hand intertwined with yours. “don’t,” he’ll warn, glaring at them. he’ll take you home, he’ll bake you your favourite pastry, and apologise to you. you tell him he has nothing to apologise for, that you’re used to it but he’ll insist it’s not fair you’re so used to being treated like that by them.
josh futterman is definitely surprised. his parents have never told him off once so when he hears the tone your parents use with you…and the words they use…he goes still. his brows furrow, eyes flickering towards you and your parents. “hey, don’t talk to her like that,” he scoffs at them. then he’ll look over at you, eyes going soft for you: “do you wanna go?” he’ll be so gentle with you, he can see how horribly you’re feeling. he’ll make sure to pepper kisses all over your face when your home, reminding you how much he loves you.
billy (burn 2019) will not hesitate to tell your parents off lmao. he has a temper, remember? he doesn’t care about being polite or “modest” anymore, the moment he heard the way they spoke to you all respect he had for your parents is gone. you don’t think you’ve ever seen him so angry. he’ll drag you away from them handling you gently, of course. on the drive back home, he’ll hold your hand, and though his gaze his focused on the road he’ll go off telling you how he can’t believe your parents, how you didn’t deserve to be treated like that, how unfair they were, and so on. he’ll apologise later for losing his temper, kissing you softly.
clapton davis won’t say anything at all. i mean, he can’t really interfere here. but, he’ll try his absolute best to make you feel better. he’ll take you to his place, he assumes you probably want to be away from home, and once you agree he knows he was right. he lays with you in his bed, your head on his chest while he comfortingly pets your head while you tell him about your parents and how awful you feel about their words. he comforts you the entire time, telling you sweet nothings along with making a couple horrible jokes that end up making you laugh.

Fortunate Dream PT. 2
Summary: Your dream of joining the BAU was becoming more and more real. How will you handle sharing a private jet with your favorite characters?
Pairing: Spencer Reid x fem!reader (eventual), BAU members x reader(platonic)
A/N: Sorry for the long wait on this one! I finished Calculus 1 in 4-weeks while also being in a musical so I ran out of time there for a bit. Enjoy!
w/c; 783
Part 1 here
Tumblr media
As confused as you were, you were having a great time experiencing the relationship that dream-you had with the members of the BAU. Everyone seemed to like you just fine.
On the jet, you found a place to sit in the window seat on the opposite side of the isle, where Derek sat, leaving an empty seat next to yourself. Derek gave you an assuring smile. You wondered how many traits that you, and this version of you had that overlapped. Did the team know about your fear of flying? Did they know about your raging crush on Dr. Spencer Reid? Did they know that you had absolutely no idea what you were doing and that you totally should not be there right now??
Glancing up, you made eye contact with Spencer, who seemed to be walking suspiciously close to your row.
Oh.
You tried to act natural as he took a seat next to you.
You didn’t have to act natural for long, though, because in an instant the jet began to roll forward, faster and faster.
You swallowed deeply.
“Are you okay, Y/n? I know you never like flying but you seem like something is really off.”
“No, I’m okay.” You lied, “I’m just... I just didn’t sleep much last night and I’m really tired.”
“Oh, well you know, there’s no need to worry about turbulence. If anything, we should really be concerned about-”
“Spencer, no offense, but if you’re about to tell me about how what we should really be concerned about is the onset of a thunderstorm, contributing to the possibility of microbursts, I’d rather not hear it.”
You heard a chuckle and looked up to see Derek standing next to you.
“Oooh, she’s got you figured out, Reid. Better be careful.”
You blushed. You were only remembering something Spencer had said in an episode of Criminal Minds. Had that episode happened yet in this timeline?
“Oh no... I was just... I just don’t need to be any more freaked out than I already am right now.” You cleared your throat.
Spencer smiled at you, “We’ll be fine.”
You were trying to think of something to say to the man. Anything. This was your chance to talk to the love of your life and you were drawing a blank. You couldn’t think of one clever thing to say to him. You just kept looking up at him, and whenever you looked, it seemed like he was looking, too. Which was probably a good sign, right? Instead, it was mostly silent. With you making the occasional attempt to look fine whenever there was turbulence.
In the midst of everything, you forgot that you were, for the time being at least, a real FBI agent. And, you were in fact, actually dealing with criminals. However, those facts became extremely apparent when Garcia phoned in with details about the case.
It was hard to focus when Spencer was sitting next to you the entire time. Being so real. So cute. So... Good smelling somehow.
“-Well, we know hardly anything about the suspect.”
If you had been in a laughing mood after hearing all of the gruesome details of the case, you would’ve laughed at Emily’s statement.
“Male. Thirty-five-”
You froze, realizing that you and Spencer were saying the same thing.
“...Keeps within his inner circle.” You finished, looking Reid up and down slowly.
A quick glance around the jet told you that this was not an uncommon event. In fact, the knowing looks that were being shared by the rest of the team said quite the opposite.
Spencer blinked, trying to come up with more information.
“Also he definitely has children.”
“Obviously.” You blinked, looking around.
“I said that out loud, didn’t I?”
Luckily, the look on Spencer’s face wasn’t disgust like you expected. He looked... Proud? Happy?
Wait a minute. You were so caught up in information about the case that you didn’t stop to wonder how you came to that conclusion. Was that normal for you? Were you also a super genius? Perhaps. It was highly plausible, now that you were thinking about it. You were obviously young like Spencer was. Why else would you be on the team at that age? Huh. You liked being smart. It was cool.
“We’ll need to split up upon arrival-” Hotch interrupted your thoughts, “Prentiss you’ll be with Morgan, you’ll share a room at the hotel as well. And Y/L/N, you and Reid will be staying in the other room.”
Oh.
You stole a quick glance at Spencer. The over-confidence you had both been showing had disappeared in an instant.
“You got it, boss.” You tightened your lips.
Why would you say that?

I could go on here and say my problems with st*rek lie in the lack of scenes together or the fact that their canon dynamic was more comedic/antagonistic than romantic, but honestly that’s not even it. Idc when ppl ship characters that didn’t have great chemistry, didn’t get along, didn’t even MEET in canon! idc! What I do care about is:
1) Pedophilia. Stiles is a teenager, Derek’s a grown man. I’ve seen debates about derek’s exact age but tbh whether he’s 22 or 26 or 30 doesn’t change the fact that he’s way too old to date a high school sophomore. Period.
2) Stealing Scott’s personality. All the st*rek fics are chock full of Stiles being the nurturing “Pack Mom” while Derek plays Dad when Stiles is unforgiving, caustic, and sharp-tongued 90% of the time. It’s Scott who takes in strays and treats everyone around him with utmost kindness right up until they prove they don’t deserve it. Even then, he still sometimes forgives.
3) St*rek’s prevalence. Okay, so we’ve come up with a crack ship that doesn’t have much basis in canon! Great! Why is it suddenly THE MOST POPULAR SHIP IN THE FANDOM BY A FUCKING MILE? I can’t go anywhere in any teen wolf fandom spaces without the goddamn st*rek jumpscaring me. For reference, St*rek outclasses the second most popular ship on ao3 (which happens to be Steter for some fuckin’ reason) by MORE THAN 7X!
4) The delusion. I’ve seen lots of ships like Malia and Isaac where the shipping is a little…tongue in cheek. The shippers are self-aware, they know there isn’t much canon basis, but they’ve decided to go ahead anyways because this is fiction and it’s fun and it hurts nobody. I’ve seen ships like Scissac or Malira where the shippers are more delulu (admittedly me, lol) yet there’s a decent canon basis to those relationships that make the hc shipping more understandable… but I have never (and I mean NEVER) witnessed such widespread CONVICTION about such a canonically weak ship. Never in my life in any other fandom (besides maybe the rpf weirdos) have I seen SO many people who are SO INVESTED in a ship with such little foundation, while not one of them is self aware enough to look around and admit that it’s really just a crackship!

Chapter One.
Tumblr media
Being back in Beacon Hills felt weird, almost like a nightmare as I walked through the halls of the empty high school that I used to attend. I looked around curiously, the classrooms looked the same and so did the locker rooms. I smiled to myself seeing the boy’s locker room in the distance, memories of sneaking in there after everyone had left to talk to my best friend running through my mind.
“What are you doing here so late!?” I squinted my eyes as a bright light was shone directly at my face, I pushed it away and glared at the man standing in front of me. The coach.
“Oh, it’s just you.” He lowered the flashlight and gave me a confused look, like I was the only crazy person that was at the school late at night.
“Good to see you too coach, I was just leaving.” I moved around him, clutching my book bag close to my chest. I had just started teaching history at Beacon Hills High School yesterday, and this was already the second night that I had decided to stay late. I missed the library here much more than I expected. Especially seeing my initials carved on one of the shelves alongside my friend’s.
“You are seriously giving all the nerds bad ideas, what kind of teacher stays late at the school to read?” I let out an exhausted sigh, he had asked the same question when he caught me in the library last night. I put on a smile and glanced back at him.
“The kind that doesn’t want your players to fail a class, because if they do fail then they won’t be able to play, and we don’t want that now do we?” I turned back around and continued walking, knowing I had won the argument. I knew how much the coach cared about having his best players on the field, unfortunately for him most of them took history.
I would never fail a student if they didn’t deserve it, and I’ve been known to give plenty of opportunities to complete homework and assignments, but the coach has been pressing all the wrong buttons for the last two days and I just needed him to keep his mouth shut.
I guess I’ve changed a lot since high school, I would have never spoken back to someone like that in my teen years. If you weren’t close to me then I seemed like the quiet kid, you know the one that everyone just ignored and went about their day. However, if you knew me then I was the exact opposite. I would speak my mind, about anything and everything. I would babble on about the most random topics if you were willing to lend an ear, and that often ended up being my best friend’s ear.
I guess I should stop calling him that, we haven’t seen or spoken to each other since we were eighteen. He left Beacon Hills after an accident, he dropped all communication and left. I stayed here for as long as I could, waiting for him to come back so that I could talk to him and comfort him, but he never did come back.
When the summer ended, I left my number on the door of his house in case he came back, and he wanted to talk. Then I left for home, I went back to Greece and continued on with my life, got my degree in teaching and then travelled for a year or two with my grandmother. Once she was ready to settle down, we came back to Beacon Hills. She said that this place had always felt like a second home to her.
I snapped out of my daydream as I realised, I had made it out into the outside corridor, I should really start paying more attention when I’m somewhere alone in the middle of the night.
“KIRA!” I stared ahead in disbelief; three kids were laying on the floor at the end of the corridor battered and bruised. It didn’t look like they noticed me but something that was growling at them did. On instinct I ran forward, skidding to a stop in front of them. Whatever the animal was, it would have to get through me first. Which looking back on that decision, that was probably the most stupid decision that I had ever made in my life.
The situation was extremely surreal, there I was standing between three kids and two grown men wearing animal skulls that covered their faces. They were clearly strong, that was the aura they gave off as they stared me down. I had so much adrenaline running through me that I stared back at them, with a glare of rage.
“Can you three move?” I glanced down at the ground for a second, noticing a sword laying on the ground between me and the men. If I could just pick that up, then I might stand a chance against these guys.
“No! Run!” I faintly remember one of the boys screaming at me, a boy I now know as Scott McCall. I ran forward, grabbing the sword off of the floor and leaping into the air with hope that the momentum would pierce the bone armour that the men had on.
But instead of making contact I was grabbed out of the air, it felt like the world slowed down to a halt as it happened. My eyes widened as a familiar face appeared in front of him, one that should have been much older by now.
“Derek?” He acknowledged me with a glance before throwing me to the side, I’m sure he meant to be gentler, but my body hit the ground with a harsh thud and my head hit the railings. My vision became blurry as I watched the scene before me, Derek, my ex best friend who hasn’t seemed to have aged a day since I last saw him, was fighting off these tall men with his bare hands. The only thing was that he had sharp canine-like teeth and claws to match as he did so. I left the image up to the concussion I had before I crawled forward towards the kids, I tried my best to stand up.
“Come on, you need to run…” I had trusted Derek with my life many times when we were younger, so now I trusted that he could hold off the danger long enough to get these kids to safety. Then I could question him on why he doesn’t look a day over sixteen, and if he’d give me the location to the fountain of youth he had found. As they got up the ache in my head became apparent, I stumbled to the side and started to fall again. However, this time I had a much softer landing, someone had been kind enough to catch me and when I looked up, I saw the most handsome man that I could have possibly ever imagined.
“Wow…so an angel really does come get you when you die.” I closed my eyes, and I could faintly hear the sound of someone calling my name.
The memory came flooding back to me like it was yesterday, it was the finals for our basketball team. We usually never made it that far, but we finally had an ace on our team, Derek Hale, my best friend. The only thing was that no one could find him, we were all waiting on the courts for him to start the match, but no one had seen him. That is when I noticed his uncle skulking around before disappearing in the direction of the locker rooms.
“I’ll be right back.” I gave Kate a reassuring smile before following him, I didn’t trust Peter at all, so I hardly felt bad about this. He was always too hard on Derek, there had been many times where Derek decided to sleep over at my place just to avoid the douche. He didn’t seem like the supportive type either, so I don’t understand why he was here.
“Even born wolves have to learn control on a full moon, Derek.” I heard Peter’s voice echoing from the showers, I blushed at the thought of bursting into the room while Derek was naked. Maybe there was an actual emergency, and I should just go, let his uncle help him for once if it fell in the department of him being naked during the issue or maybe I should have sent Kate because she’s told me many times, she had a crush on him. But then…
“Yeah, but it’s supposed to be easier for us, why does it hurt so much!?” Hurt? That sent alarm bells going off in my head, Derek was hurting. I rounded the corner and stared in shock as Derek was on his knees, completely drenched from head to toe. I could only see the side of his face, but his eyes were glowing bright blue and he had fangs like a wolf. Before I could stop myself, I let out a scream, then there was a pressure on my neck before I passed out.
I woke up with a jolt, my eyes snapping open as I heard voices coming from the distance. I was in a room I didn’t recognise, the ceiling was high and most of the bricks were exposed. It was cold, sending a shiver down my spine. I sat up slowly, my brain pounding against my skull as I did so.
My ears were still ringing from earlier, my heart was still pounding in my chest from the adrenaline. Then I heard my name again, it didn’t sound like it had any emotion in it at first but as I looked in the direction of the voice I could immediately tell there was a slight worried undertone to it…just like I could always tell when he tried to hide it.
“Derek…?” Just as I thought, the man from earlier was Derek. He had grown so much, he was taller, more muscular, he had a beard and damn was he gorgeous. I took several deep breaths as three pairs of eyes fell on me, which didn’t help the growing nervousness in my stomach. Was what I remembered real? Was what I saw earlier real?
“That’s my cue to leave.” The woman spoke, she got up and left without even greeting them. The other man followed her, locking the door behind her as she left.
“Are you crazy!?” He sounded shocked and angry, the emotions clearly directed at Derek.
“Not now.” He got up and walked towards me, my spine immediately straightened, and my eyes went wide as he sat down in front of me. I wasn’t scared of him, but I suddenly felt alert in the situation, there were so many questions swirling in my head that it was almost hard to keep track of.
“What do you remember?” No “Hi, how you doing?”, no “Sorry I threw you which made you hit your head and pass out”. Nothing, just straight to what I remembered? Yeah, this was definitely Derek or should I rather say the ‘new and improved’ one.
“A lot, enough to know you’ve been keeping secrets from me before you even left.”
“It was to protect you.”
“Bullshit!” I stood up, staggering slightly which sent Derek flying to his feet to catch me. His hands landed on my waist, holding me up.
“It wasn’t to protect me! It was for your own selfish shit! You didn’t tell me things, you didn’t let me in on your little world and then you just left me! No good explanation, no good-bye just gone! I stayed here for months for you! Taking care of your family after the fire, I spent my summer hoping you would come back but you didn’t! You ass!” I hit his chest hard which for once made him flinch, but he still had a glare on his face as he stared down at me like a predator warning his prey.
“You didn’t stay either so how is it fair that you can be mad at me, but you weren’t here when I came back?” I glared at him, absolutely pissed that he would switch the blame to me so quickly.
“I left you a note with my number on it and my new address, I couldn’t stay when my whole family was leaving! I was eighteen without a job, how would I live here!?” I tried to push him off, but he just tightened his grip on me.
“There was no note.”
“That might have been my fault.” Our heads whipped to the other man in the room, he had a sheepish grin on his face, but he didn’t look sorry at all as he shrugged and crossed his arms.
“I took it off, didn’t want you to have stalkers back home.” I blinked in disbelief, it was private property so no one would have went there besides Derek's family.
“Peter?”
“In the flesh.” He did a small bow, now my blood was boiling even more. Of course, it was Peter who made sure we never spoke again, he never liked me since I always made Derek talk back to him, I made Derek stand up for himself against him. Rightfully so because he is an asshole.
“But how!? You were burnt and paralysed in the fire! I looked after you and Laura in the hospital for my whole summer!”
“Long story but thanks for that, cupcake.” My grip on Derek’s arms tightened, he took that as a sign that if he didn’t get me out of here that I would try to burn Peter to a crisp myself this time.
“I’m taking you home.” I screeched as he picked me up, something I definitely wasn’t used to. I was well aware that I probably couldn’t walk by myself, the longer I’m awake the more my body aches and pains. I let out a groan, closing my eyes as I decide not to protest.
“I hate you sometimes.” I heard a little huff, something he did when he was trying not to smile. Even though I was extremely mad at him right now, his warmth was welcomed. At least that hasn’t changed, he was still my personal heater.
“Just sometimes?” I opened my eyes as one of his hands wrapped around mine, my pain starting to slowly go away. I glanced down, there were black veins on his hand and arm where we were touching, another thing I suddenly remembered seeing before. Once we were outside, he put me in the passenger seat of a car, a car I was assuming was his.
“Derek, please talk to me. Explain this to me.” He sighed, I gave him my best pleading look which made him shake his head before he knelt down next to me.
“I’m a werewolf.”
“Yeah, I guessed.” I cleared my throat, my eyes meeting his. “I saw you before, before that basketball game when we were younger.”
“Before Peter knocked you out, I remember.”
“He is a royal pain in the ass, fucking asshole. But you know I wasn’t scared of you, right? I would have accepted you even back then.” I reached out for his hand and laced our fingers together, squeezing it tightly. His eyes flickered down to our hands, he seemed to be processing the feeling like no one has held his hand since he last saw me.
“I know, you were a weirdo that would have accepted me even if I had two heads.” I laughed at that, a smile growing on my face as I looked at him.
“Yeah, but your ego was enough to deal with.” He rolled his eyes at that, but I could see the smile he was hiding, beneath all the changes that he went through I could still see the old Derek. The person he was before all the pain. He took a deep breath and pulled his hand away from mine, the playful atmosphere now depleting.
“I wanted to tell you but the last person I told died, and then Kate…”
“Argent?” He nodded, then he began to explain what happened in the last few years. How Paige actually died, that Kate was the one who set fire to his house and killed his family because she was a hunter and that’s why she wanted to date him. He told me about when he came back to Beacon Hills, all the things that happened with a group of high schoolers he met. It was a lot to take in, but I paid attention, I knew he would never lie…well tell a whole fabricated supernatural story because he was never that creative.
“I’m sorry, Derek. I’m so sorry.” I leaned forward, hugging him with my arms wrapped around his neck. I could tell he wasn’t expecting it, he froze for a moment. Usually, I never cry about things but now that I knew the truth, I couldn’t stop the tears. The amount of times Derek could have died or was close to death while I wasn’t with him crashed down on me, I sobbed and hiccupped while holding onto him. That’s when his arms wrapped around me, holding me firmly to his chest as I cried.
I don’t know how long we sat like that, just on the side of the road in his car with his arms around me. The crying had given me a headache but being close to him felt good, being like this again felt good. My heart was beating a mile a minute.
“Please come home with me, please stay like you used to. I need you…” Another thing that was out of character for me, begging for someone to stay. I don’t know if fear had overcome me from realising there was a whole dangerous world of creatures that could kill me if they weren’t good like Derek, or if I was just scared that if he left me, he would leave again.
“Okay…okay.” His voice was soft, something that only happened when I was extremely upset about something. He got up, tucking me into my seat and putting on my seatbelt. Once he was in the driver’s seat I grabbed his hand again, holding it with both of mine. This time he squeezed my hand, starting the car with his free hand and then driving off.
Later...
When we arrived at my place Derek has decided that I still couldn’t walk on my own, he picked me up from the passenger seat and walked towards my front door. The little act of kindness made me giggle, knowing full well that if I ever asked to be carried again then he would say no.
“Welcome to my humble abode, my bedroom is upstairs.” He nodded, taking a quick look around my house before ascending to the second floor. I had boxes all around, not having unpacked anything besides my bedroom and the kitchen.
“Am I allowed to dress myself or are you going to strip me too?” He grunted, not enjoying my teasing as he put me down on the bed. He walked over to my closet.
“Still sleep in shorts and a tank top?” He barely asked the question before throwing those items at me, I laughed and caught them.
“Yeah, but only when it’s hot. Then again it should be very hot since my personal heater has returned.” He chuckled at this, looking at the wall as I got changed.
“I see you still have some of my sweatpants, I’m borrowing one.” I blushed and looked away as he changed, though I did take a glance as he took off his shirt. He had definitely worked out during the time we were separated and had gotten a tattoo on his back. It was safe to say he was an absolute catch. I shook my head, not believing my thoughts about a man that was my best friend for most of my childhood.
He walked over to me, he had opted to not put a shirt on which I was definitely complaining about.
“Where am I sleeping?” I patted next to me which made him raise an eyebrow, I guess now that we’re older it was a bit weird to share a bed as just friends, but I didn’t care. I had missed sleeping in his arms.
“Don’t question it, I missed you.” He sighed and laid next to me, I didn’t hesitate to crawl into his arms. When I pulled the blanket over us, I felt safe, it was just like when were younger again. Derek was my dream catcher, keeping the nightmares and bad thoughts away. Now being with him kept more than that away, I felt like as long as I was with him the new world, I knew about wasn’t so scary after all. His warmth made me sleepy, my eyes closing as I drifted off.
Just before I fell asleep, I felt his arms tighten around me.

✨my grey’s anatomy unpopular opinions✨
some of these may not even be unpopular but anyways
Cristina & Burke >>> Cristina & Owen
Burke wasn’t perfect but at least he realised he couldn’t change Cristina and so he did the best thing for both of them by leaving. Obviously leaving someone on the altar is shitty but like in the long run it’s a good thing.
Apart from that, as a couple they were so sweet like if you just watch old clips of them dancing and just living in their apartment and he’s all neat and she’s all messy but it’s just cute!!!
Owen is literally the worst. I don’t even need to explain this one. There were moments where I felt kind of bad for him but overall he is just the worst.
Teddy and Henry were such a cute couple, their story was so sweet and I wish he would’ve stayed alive so they would’ve been endgame.
The scene where Teddy comes home to find Henry throwing up blood on their sink 🥺🥺 When I tell you I cried so hard!!! To me they were top five couples of Greys idec.
They RUINED Callie’s character! She was so good and badass when she was first introduced and then they gave her the worst exit ever. I loved Callie but her last arc aka the custody battle really made me hate her.
Izzie is overhated! I love Izzie and she’s my fav character. Yes cutting the LVAD wire was wrong but she was desperate and in love.
Katherine Heigl (Izzie) CARRIED the first five seasons of this show especially season 2. Her acting was so brilliant, it’s insane. Actually, Katherine Heigl and Sandra Oh (Cristina) carried, and deservedly won Emmys and Golden Globes for their roles bc they were brilliant.
Izzie x Alex >>> Izzie x Denny. Izzex was THE Grey’s couple in the early seasons after MerDer. She changed him 🥺 he changed for her. Their wedding was beautiful, everything about them was beautiful except how she left him but I sort of understood after everything she’d been through. Just know it wouldn’t have panned out like that in storyline if Shonda didn’t have a problem with Katherine. But they got their happy ending in season 16 which I was SO happy about. My fav couple ever. Like I felt bad he left Jo but HE ALWAYS LOVED IZZIE MORE.
I feel like Lexie is overloved? I mean she was a really nice and funny character and she was lovely but why is she people’s favourite character ranked above Cristina and others??? Lexie’s storylines were never really big or important, why are you liking a character just bc they are nice?? Like Sandra Oh didn’t deliver such AMAZING performances for y’all to pick Lexie over her bc she’s “nice”.
CRISTINA WAS THE HEART OF THE SHOW! Which is why I stopped watching at the end of season 10 the moment she left!!! Her dramatic scenes, her comedy, her everything was perfect.
I honestly feel like the central relationship of the show was the friendship and bond between Meredith and Cristina. It was the crux of the show. It was heartwarming watching them be so close, almost telepathically connected without even saying anything.
George was VERY pick me in the early seasons, but he was a GOOD guy and it showed by his actions. Also the way he was so brave in a quiet way.
The scene with Izzie in her prom dress getting in the elevator and the doors open to reveal George in his army uniform showing he died WAS PEAK CINEMA. I CRIED SO HARD.
Alex was genuinely really mean to George up till George died and for no reason?!? He just didn’t like George at all and bullied him and it was uncomfortable to watch like bro it’s been five seasons WHY DO YOU STILL HATE HIM. Like Alex had started being nice to the girls by that point but he was still horrible to George??? I wish I’d seen their friendship develop.
DEREK was a dick. Like at the beginning. I just didn’t like him at all. He grew on me a bit but I honestly didn’t care that much that he died. He had his good moments but first three seasons he was a dick to both Meredith and Addison. I understand why with Addison bc she cheated on him, but he was so awful to Meredith when she was sleeping around and he basically called her a whore??? BRO YOU ARE THE ONE WHO REJECTED HER AND CHOSE ADDISON?!? Bye lmao
Bailey was SO good in the early-mid seasons. Like just so entertaining to watch and honestly Chandra Wilson is the third person who carried the show along with Katherine and Sandra. But she got annoying in later seasons.
But Bayley and Cristina in the shooting episode was top tier acting. You could FEEL their emotions through the screen.
Grey’s Anatomy doesn’t have the same magic anymore since Cristina left. I really don’t like any of the new characters like Maggie or even Amelia or any of the new guys. And OWEN IS STILL THERE WTF.
Besides that, here are some scenes where I felt like the acting was brilliant:
— When Cristina is performing surgery under gunpoint.
— Izzie when Denny dies. I think the best acting performance of the whole show. “An hour ago he was proposing and now he’s going to the morgue.”
— Cristina when Burke left her on their wedding day, “he’s gone, I’m free”
— Bailey in the shooting episode.
— When George remembers that he slept with Izzie when they were drunk. The scene doesn’t even have any dialogue yall, it’s just their EXPRESSIONS are so good. It’s my favourite scene in the whole show. It’s so emotional and dramatic and only a few seconds long.
— Probably others but I don’t remember.

The list of things Debbie did for her siblings while they treated her like an annoyance, so hurtful.
She ran the daycare for Fiona
She looked for Ian with Lip
She took care of the house while Fiona was going through a downward spiral
She managed the household when Fiona left
She kept Ian and Mickey's wedding from being ruined and missed it on top of that
She got Lip and Tami an RV to live in, I think she even put in some money on it.
Debbie isn't as selfish as the writers tried to make her out to be. None of the siblings are what I'd call outright selfish. But Debbie is the one who gets slapped with that label and it makes me feel so bad for her. Everyone stop being mean to Debbie. 💔
honestly.
i mean, debbie has been annoying on several occasions, but so have all of the other characters. i think that all of the “annoying” things she has done are relatively justifiable. and not to throw anyone under the bus (i love you fiona i’m so sorry for this) but fiona can be just as annoying as debbie.
it honestly saddens me how poorly debbie has always been treated, she really has never had any ill-intentions towards her family members, she’s very helpful and yeah, she can be controlling and a little much, but really all she wants is a family that will stay together.
every “selfish” thing she’s ever done really wasn’t that selfish. like, some people say that keeping franny was selfish and she only did it “to spite fiona”, but we literally saw why. derek’s sister-in-law said that having a kid gave her a new family, she literally wanted a kid so that she could build a family, she specifically said she didn’t want fiona to hate her/she didn’t want more issues with fiona- franny wasn’t created as a “fuck you” to fiona and debbie did it ALL on her own. fiona didn’t raise franny at all.
and honestly? debbie deserves to be selfish at times. she’s spent so much of her life doing things for others and just getting hurt over and over again, so let her be selfish from time to time.
but like seriously she does so much and is treated like a nuisance. ian should be thanking her for all that she did for the wedding, fiona should be thanking her for all that she did while she was having a breakdown, tami should have thanked her for spending her hard-earned money on the rv, she just deserves a big thank you because she really cares.
the fandom decided one day that they hated her and then the writers went off of that, but it was complete bullshit. you can’t convince me that all of the gallagher’s hate debbie because they don’t. they love their sister. argue with the wall.

I was underwhelmed by Arizona’s return. Love Arizona but yeah it could’ve been any doctor and nothing much would’ve changed since we got no updates on her life or no scenes with old friends other than Bailey. That was nice but I wanted more. The good was Mika, I love hers and Jules relationship but idk if they’ll actually invest in them since they kind of dropped Simone’s and Jules’s growing friendship and the idea of the entire group just hanging out at Meredith’s old house and being friendly a little too quickly. I understand that the interns are in trouble but I wish they’d kept the camaraderie and jokes because without the friendships it’s a regular boring medical drama. On the other hand, this episode made me realize that I as much as I like them, I really don’t care about Teddy Richard or Link. I really didn’t miss them or remember their storylines until the end especially Link he’s been kind of useless since Amelia dumped him, but I know they won’t get rid of him because that means getting rid of Scout. Too bad because he can go and take Jo and bring over Carina to be the rightful head OB she is instead of the invisible role she’s been playing for the past almost decade lol
Honestly? To me, even those moments with Bailey felt underwhelming. They are friends, the woman officiated her wedding for christ's sake... so why acting so damn formal? I guess it didn't help that they all went "world renowned blabla" (something that I already hardly buy when it comes to someone like Addison, for example), even though I do love her being amazing at her job. But you know... come on! Besides, her human side is what makes her a superstar. So yeah, some more of that would've been welcome for sure. Still, I did enjoy her being there.
I agree, it's a shame that the interns aren't that fun bunch anymore. A group like that could have a lot of potential, starting with simply being a fun watch. On the other hand, I'm having issues with Simone since pretty much the start (sorry, for some reason I just can't stand her) and by now I'm also very much done with Lucas' crying face (I bet they casted him for his droopy eyes, just to resemble Derek) and most of all his constant feeling sorry for himself - come on dude, you're a Shepherd, you're not any "less" (you're just an entitled brat who maybe simply isn't cut out to be a surgeon... you know, like 95% of the world). So I think I'm good, since them not being involved with the others only improve those scenes of the others by now.
Teddy's return was a disappointment (she was so much more interesting as Cristina's teacher and Henri's wife), but I do still like Link - though his best days were with Amelia.
Aren't Jo and Carina in the same field, but in different jobs/positions? Jo is a surgeon (now becoming an OB), while Carina is "just" a regular OB, as in not doing surgeries... right? Besides their exact titles/jobs though, I don't need everyone to be in charge. It's getting a bit old, as if job-wise there's nothing else to make a character more interesting. When Carina was introduced, she was doing her study (which we never heard of again). Now why not let her have some fun like that again? Anyone in for some crazy science, raise your hand! 🤪

Did it all to make you feel admired
Fandom: Criminal Minds
Characters: Morgan/Reid
Summary: While apart during a case Morgan tells Reid over the phone exactly how he’d tickle him if he was there.
A/N: Loosely part of the universe that this fic takes place in, but can be read independently. Thanks so much for the love on that fic btw! I might be adding more parts to this ‘verse as time goes on, so feel free to request anything you want to see! I already have some ideas of my own.
Warnings: Not really anything graphic, but kind of sexual undertones if you squint. Also tickle kinks, but it's pretty tame and not really discussed in this one.
Words: 1.5k
(Read on ao3)
“Pretty boy.”
Spencer breathed out a sigh of relief and gripped the phone tighter. “Hi.”
“Hi.” He could hear the smile in Derek’s voice. “How you holding up?”
“Well, I haven’t had a fever since yesterday morning.”
“Why do you sound so grumpy about that?”
“It means I could’ve come with.”
“Spence.” He was rummaging through something, possibly his bag. The first time they’d been forced to share a room during a case Spencer had been surprised by how organized Derek was. Everything was exactly in its place. Well, until the things actually left the bag, that is. “We weren’t gonna bring you with us when you were sick.”
“But at that point I had already been sick for three days, and the likelihood of it continuing for longer than another couple of days was very low, which I told you about-”
“You’re probably better because you’ve been resting.”
“Hm.”
“Spencer.”
“Yes?”
“You have been resting, right?”
Spencer ran a hand through his hair, wincing at the ceiling. “Of course.”
“Baby.”
“Mm?”
“I know when you’re lying.”
Something about his tone of voice made Spencer flush. He could imagine him hovering above him, fingertips on his jawline, head tilted as he gently told Spencer exactly what he wanted him to do for him-
Well, his brain was just cruel. Derek was in fucking Seattle and he was left (alone, unattended, abandoned) in Virginia.
“I might have asked Garcia to send me some of the case materials,” he admitted, and he could hear Derek spluttering into the phone. “Hey, it’s actually really boring to just be lying here when you’re not dying.”
“I’m gonna kill her.”
“Please don’t.”
“Don’t think I won’t kill you too.”
“You’ll miss me too much.”
Derek didn’t reply. He must’ve found whatever he’d been looking for. Maybe he was getting ready for bed. It was nearly 11pm over there after all and he’d probably had a long day.
“I have some input if you guys want it,” he mumbled after a while and Derek huffed out a laugh.
“Of course you do.”
“She wouldn’t send me everything.”
“She shouldn’t have sent you anything.”
“Don’t blame her, I was pestering her for like two days.”
“Oh my god.” Derek laughed again. Spencer couldn’t help but smile. “You’re gonna be the death of me, you know that?”
“You knew what you signed up for.”
“That I did.”
The sound of the faucet running. Spencer turned his head and looked at the semi-illuminated tree tops outside. Being sick during springtime was just unfair.
“Hey, Spence?”
“Yes?”
“Why are you still awake anyway? It’s like 2am there.”
Spencer shrugged even though he knew he couldn’t see it. “Wanted to talk to you.”
“We literally talked earlier because you wanted me to talk you to sleep.”
“Didn’t work.”
“Spencer, have you spent the last few hours working instead of sleeping?”
“No.”
“Doctor Reid.”
“Oh, stop. You can’t say it like that when you’re not here.”
Derek hummed. “I’m gonna tickle you to pieces once I get back. As punishment, of course.”
Spencer blushed to the roots of his hair. After all these months he was still unused to this. “Oh, no, whatever shall I do.”
“Okay, smartass. What if I do the opposite and withhold tickles until you learn to take better care of yourself?”
“Oh, now you’re being mean,” he pouted.
Derek laughed. He could hear him get into bed, probably shuffling under the covers and lying on his back with one arm behind his neck like he usually did.
Spencer ran a hand over his chest. “Speaking of that,” he started, suddenly feeling shy even though Derek couldn’t see him. “How- how exactly would you punish me?”
“You want to know how I would tickle you right now, pretty boy?” His tone was teasing, but his voice gentle. He wasn’t making fun. He never had.
“Maybe.”
“I need you to speak up, baby.” Spencer groaned, making Derek laugh again. “Or is that too much to ask for? Are you blushing?”
“Me? Never.”
“Hmm. I can imagine it so clearly though. Your eyes refusing to meet mine. Me forcing you to look up by gently holding your jaw. How deliciously pink you are right now. I can nearly feel the heat of your cheeks on my fingers.”
Spencer covered his face with both his hands, caught somewhere between an embarrassed laugh and an overwhelmed squeal which Derek could probably hear. “Stop.”
“Don’t you want me to tell you how I’d tickle you?” he purred on the other side. Spencer could imagine his grin and it made his heart skip a beat.
He said, quietly, “Yes.”
“That’s a good boy,” Derek said. “I’d ask you to tell me how you’d want me to tickle you, but I fear we’d be getting nowhere with how shy you’re being tonight.” Spencer whined and Derek laughed once again. “Don’t worry, it’s adorable. As for the tickling.” He sang the last word, dragging it out as if to make sure Spencer didn’t miss it. “Are you lying on your back?”
“Yes.”
“Good. I’d probably not straddle you or anything, but start off lightly just to see you squirm and fight against your instinct to move away. I’d trail my fingertips over your ribs-” Spencer started stroking his own ribs, his skin warm to the touch. “Watch you tense up each time I get close to your sides. I’d probably be grinning at you and you would blush, kind of like you are right now.”
Spencer’s blush intensified. “Do you have cameras in here?”
“No. But that’d be kinda hot right now.”
Spencer laughed.
“There it is,” Derek said, audibly delighted. “The first laugh. I bet it’s because I’m slowly moving toward your belly and you’re nervous about it.”
Spencer moved his hand down, his abdomen jumping beneath his fingers.
“I bet your belly’s jumping right now. That’s so cute, by the way. You being so sensitive there that your body’s fighting to get away from the sensation.”
“Derek.”
“Yes?”
Spencer breathed out, unsure whether the teasing was too much or just enough. Maybe not having him physically there made it all the more intense, since Spencer couldn’t know what Derek looked like. If he was smiling or undressing him with his eyes, or both at the same time. He could hear Derek shuffling when he didn’t reply.
“You okay?” he asked, dropping any playfulness from his voice. Spencer could picture him frowning.
“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine, sorry-”
“There’s no need to apologize, angel.”
Angel. Derek had never called him angel before.
“Did you start overthinking?” he continued.
“Not really, I just- I didn’t know how to respond to your- teasing. It’s different when you can’t physically see my reactions.”
“You don’t have to respond, you know. I trust you’ll tell me if you think I’m overstepping or that it gets too much. You can just lie there in silence and imagine my hands on you, okay?”
Spencer nodded even though he couldn’t see. “Yeah, okay.”
“Good because I was just about to reach your lower belly and you know how much I enjoy the sounds you make when I kiss and tickle you there.”
Spencer’s breath hitched. He could practically feel Derek there, being so very gentle every single time.
“I will trace your skin for a bit, getting you all squirmy and flustered.” Spencer traced the skin of his lower belly. “And then, just as you’re starting to giggle and fight back I will pin you. Do you feel my body on yours?”
“Y-yes.”
“Good. I’m straddling your hips, because while you flail a lot it’s your bucking that always throws me off. Literally.”
Spencer let out a laugh. “Sorry.”
“I forgive you only because you’re so pretty.”
“Mm, that’s shallow of you.”
Derek laughed in surprise. “I thought you were gonna be quiet? Don’t get all sassy on me now. I might pin your hands above your head and tickle your armpits and not stop, pretty boy. Actually,” he added when Spencer spluttered. “I think I’ll be doing just that. Raise your arms for me, baby.” Spencer did, even though Derek had no way of seeing if he obeyed or not. “Just like that. Can you feel my hand approaching?”
Spencer, somehow, could, and it made him throw his head back in anticipation.
“My hands are big, you know. I can cover so much ground.”
“I kn-know.”
“Oh, you’re talking again, huh?”
“Sh-shut up.”
“Not when you stutter like that.”
Spencer gripped the headboard of his bed, his phone on speaker next to his head, as if Derek was speaking right into his ear. He could almost feel his breath tickling his cheek, making his hair flutter a bit. Derek would be perched on his side with his head resting in one hand, his other hand free to roam. Maybe he wouldn’t even be tickling him. Spencer would be blushing no matter what.
“Do me a favor, pretty boy,” he was saying now. “Laugh for me.”
And Spencer, even though he wasn’t actually being tickled and it was technically impossible that mere words could tickle, did.

Unpopular Opinion Rant
I’m still in my Teen Wolf phase and re-watching the show.
Holy. Hell. I can’t stand Scott. I hate how much of a hypocritical, seeing in straight black and white with no grey, thinks-he’s-got-the-moral-high-ground, self-serving, egotistical prick he really is. He constantly whines about being a werewolf but happily uses his new abilities to become better at lacrosse, increase his popularity, and basically betray Stiles’ friendship because he got better than him. Maybe it’s just me but I really don’t see anywhere in his attitude that warrants him being labeled a “True Alpha”.  I guess it’s all about “willpower and strength of character” but the show implies that one only achieves this level by being good and Scott is not as good and right as he thinks he is.
Also what gets me a lot is the ending of both season one and season two. (3-6 don’t exist for me, especially the whole Jackson/Ethan thing. Seriously? Ethan? No. Why not Danny or anyone else?! I also hated the whole turning Jackson into a Kanima/Wolf hybrid. He is NOT a damn hybrid! Once he completed his transformation at the end of Season 2, he became a WEREWOLF!!!)
First, yes, I get that the writers wanted to depict Peter as a psychotic bad guy but maaaaaaaybe don’t have him go through a hugely traumatic event where he saw near his entire family burn to death, something he himself also barely survived. He also went feral because of broken pack bonds and the fact that his new Alpha just abandoned him to die. So all that, and the “morally superior good guys” decide the only way to stop him was to set him on fire. Again. Explain to me how that makes them better? Because they pretty much set a burn trauma survivor on fire again and didn’t care.
Second, I hate Scott’s actions regarding Gerard Argent and the fact that he forced Derek to bite the bastard against his will. Sure, he had a plan but did he actually tell it to anybody? Hmmmm. It seems he does that a lot. Scott also didn’t seem to give a damn that Gerard had all but tortured Stiles, a person who was supposed to be his best friend but who cares about that as long as Scott gets what he wants and people do what he wants. That last part was never mentioned in the show anyway so I guess... 🤷‍♀️.
I know Scott was also one of the few who wanted to save Jackson as opposed to killing him, but let us not forget Peter helped to save him too, even if it is unclear here whether he had an ulterior motive for it. (It’s really too bad that Colton Haynes left after this season because I am completely convinced that Jackson would have been revealed as Peter’s son given all the buildup thus far. But it’s very likely that the writers would have eventually reduced Jackson to a prop to hold up Scott as well eventually so maybe Colton actually did himself a favour.)
Back to Peter, I know many will disagree with me on this, but I like him. Peter is what one would call a “chaotic neutral” and Ian Bohen’s acting is just so incredible, he makes it very hard to hate this guy even when he’s being a snarky smartass. (Or is that he’s so good that he makes you hate the character like you’re supposed to? In that case, he failed with me). Yes, he killed his niece, but it’s also heavily implied that he wasn’t all there mentally during that part because of all the trauma, the psychological damage of being trapped in his body for six years, and the fact that Laura abandoned him, as mentioned before plus wasn’t Jennifer manipulating him? Do NOT even get me started on how unbelievable the whole “Peter willingly working with Kate” thing is. Seriously, if season one was any indication, he should’ve immediately tried to kill her again once he realized she was still alive.
Another thing that irks me is Derek and the pack’s constant need to hold everything over Peter’s head when it was actually Derek who gave Kate everything she needed to wipe out his family. But Derek gets all the slack for that instead. I don’t hate Derek at all but come on!
This leads me to my final point of the rant and that is the writers reducing the Hales to props to try and keep Scott credible as an Alpha and nothing more, even dismantling the Hale pack entirely at one point. Yes, Derek does it to save Cora but they officially wiped out a powerful, centuries old werewolf pack just like that. Only way I’ll get over this is if they eventually give the Hales a spin-off much like the Originals from the Vampire Diaries. I mean more young Peter? Hell yes!!!! Young Derek? Sure, I’m game! Actually showing Talia as a fleshed out character? 🙋‍♀️ Me!!! Also it may get me to like Laura as it would take her beyond this one-dimensional person that we know now. Who knows.

wwdits s4 thoughts
So, yeah, didn’t really enjoy much about season 4, most of it was very disappointing for me, especially since I’ve been a diehard fan since season 1 was airing.
There were a lot of genuinely very interesting narrative threads established in the seasons leading up to this one that I feel were completely abandoned for some unfathomable reason. Here are those threads I felt like deserved larger exploration (spoilers/discussion included below):
-Derek being a naïve fledging vampire under Laszlo's tutelage. How is his perspective different from vampires who have lived hundreds of years and lost touch with their humanity? What is his relationship with Guillermo like, considering they knew each other in the Mosquito club beforehand?
-Nandor no longer wanting to be a vampire and wanting to pursue a more fulfilling human life. Maybe he actively disparages the vampires and is more contentious to the idea of drinking blood. Maybe this makes him more empathetic. It would have been neat to see him grapple with this internal dilemma more.
-Guillermo prioritizing his family instead of the vampires that continue to show that they don't care for him in the ways he needs. It would have been great to see him reconnect with his family, especially considering the monumental scene of him coming out.
-Where do energy vampires come from/what are they? Despite s3 focusing on this plot, we really don’t have any more concrete answers about this.
-Nadja working with the vampiric council and exploring a larger leadership role. She spent all of s3 wanting to be a leader and have more influence in the regional vampire community and this desire was completely axed at the beginning of s4. Why?
-Guillermo's entire family being vampire hunters and what this would mean for his relationship with his vampire family in general. It was unsatisfying to see the conflict completely neutralized when Nadja just used hypnosis to undo everything they had learned.
-Guillermo finding agency and power in his slayer bloodline instead of wanting to be a vampire. It feels strange that we would see him come into his own so much and even outright reject wanting to be a vampire and only wanting Nandor to be happy with himself in s3, only for s4 to end on him pursuing this goal again.
-Guillermo and Nadja interacting in London and potentially forming a new appreciation for each other. We didn’t get anything of them in London, and I feel like this was a huge injustice to both of them. It would have been really interesting to see how their relationship changed and developed with them relying on one another exclusively for a year.
-Nandor and Guillermo and what is even going on there just in general. Their relationship is ultimately confusing and difficult to follow because it feels like Nandor is not allowed as a character to make any real change. He’ll change in specific episodes and really open up and be a sweetheart, and then the next moment he is cold and strangely capricious. I don’t like how vague the writers continue to keep the nature of their relationship :(
-The sire's role as the progenitor for all vampires and how to properly keep him safe. This one could be a genuinely interesting thing to pursue for an entire season, especially since we’ve established there are vampire antagonistic groups like the Mosquito club amateurs as well as seasoned slayers.

fuck it - my teen wolf movie fix-it
i literally just did this all day bcs of how much the movie pissed me off - this is legit just everything I would've done different if I was the one making the damn movie (written in bullet points (bcs im lazy) under the cut)
PRE MOVIE STUFF
Aight so first off, Eli (named after Derek's dear old dad) was the result of a one-stand (pre-Braeden bcs he ain’t a cheater)
Derek doesnt even know he exists till Melissa calls him to the hospital (he still w Braeden for now) but babymama got in a crash and the kid’s there- DNA test says he the babydaddy but Braeden ain’t about that,, like she respects it but she ain’t ready to settle down in a nuclear family typa situation and he ain’t holding it against her neither so it’s like an amicable parting yk? And there begins the tale of single dad!Derek (like this is right at the end of the show or wtv bcs the timeline gives me a headache)
Now if he wants to keep shit in the clear regarding the FBI when it comes to Eli’s life so he calls Stiles, Cora and Peter to form a plan to handle that shit
The only thing they come up with is kinda turning him in (Peter is not fan but o well)
They go the old Hale house w the Sheriff and Argent and call the FBI, not long enough to trace the call but long enough to give his message: one person, anyone they want, at that location and they can wear a tracker, a wire, wtv but they sit down and listen bcs he ain’t going into custody for something he didn’t do
At first the FBI wants to send Stiles but he’s just like ‘uh,,, conflict of interest?’ bcs they went to school together even if they weren’t in the same grade (but also bcs they’d somehow have to pretend they don’t know each other and that’s just messy) so they send Rafael (Scott’s dad) instead bcs he’s the official liaison with the sheriffs
So he pops up and he’s gets them to explain the situation like they barely know the man bcs they probably don’t before ‘Scott’s dad’ but obviously without werewolves and hunters
Argent’s there as a character witness bcs yes Kate was that batshit + she legit groomed Derek when he was in highschool (15-16 and traumatised vs 20-21 and actively seeking to harm him and his family)
Plus no one even knew Cora was still alive but that was bcs she didn’t want Kate trying it again so the FBI leaves that be and she goes back to South America bcs Beacon Hills shit is just way too much
So they drop the charges against him and move their attention to Kate (no one knows if she’s alive or dead or what but who cares)
LATER
Nah he did not weirdly traumatise his kid while saving him only for it to be fine and dandy when Scott roars in his face
See they live in the woods and w the scent of shifters, especially Malia (a werecoyote), keeps the actual coyotes away
He’s just a slow developer bcs he’s half human and he’s worried all the time about whether he’ll ever shift bcs he might not yk
Liam did not move to Japan
The pack just gave the box to a kitsune community (they don’t really have packs but they do have families and communities in that sense) that Yukimura Noshiko told them about bcs kitsune can handle nogitsune a whole lot better than wolves
Instead of the random ass Liam x Hikari thing, they’re friends - he ain’t the emissary but he’s still the one making the trips on the behalf of the McCall Pack + he learns Japanese bcs that’s like one of the only parts of canon that ain’t too bad
Ykw Theo goes w him bcs he has literally nothing in Beacon Hills and he’s still tryna prove himself to the pack bcs ~guilt complex~ and bcs Thiam obvsly
Kira and Issac are back and Scira AND Scisaac are canon bcs I said so - he has two hands
Isaac came back with Argent when Eli popped up
Alec still exists bcs why include the future of the pack and then forget he exists??
Plus Theo, Corey, Nolan???
Harris never died/was never sacrificed (but almost) bcs the Darach let him go as a twisted thanks for the help or wtv but no one knows so he’s just AWOL the whole time (bcs the movie just goes ‘surprise bitch’ and don’t explain HOW he's for some reason-)
Scott didn’t just move away from his pack, his mum, etc. it just don't sound like him
The old pet shelter in Beacon Hills (conveniently near Deaton’s clinic) ends up needing a new owner after the owner basically goes ‘I’m too old for this shit’ so he’s the new owner yay
He still gets his vet degree bcs my boy worked hard for that shit
Lydia and Stiles don’t work out bcs I don’t want it to- sorry Stydia
She’s still a genius doing wtv she was doing in the movie bcs fuck yea renewable energy
He’s no longer doing his FBI stuff bcs he realised the supernatural in the cases and couldn’t do a thing about it so now he’s basically like the Sherlock or Columbo or wtv of the supernatural world
Stiles still lives in Beacon Hills bcs it’s a supernatural hub which makes it easier for his work
Nolan is dealing w hunter shit
Corey is temporarily away on work stuff or smth soz bro making things up is harder than it used to be
Mason is not a cop bcs no
Mans gets his degree bcs he’s the puppy pack's designated nerd and he’s a chem teacher at the high school (he’s also the councillor bcs that easy he can tell who’s supernatural to make things easier for everyone)
Malia and Derek set up the Hale autoshop while rebuilding the Hale Packhouse like it used to be
Isaac lives w them
We actually remember that the Hales are rich bitches
Bcs the house is massive and meant for yk a wolf pack rather than a small family, the McCall Pack use it as a sort of substitute packhouse bcs ain’t no one else rich so when Stiles, Theo or Liam are in town, they’ll stay there or if there’s some pack thing, there’s plenty of space for the lot of em
Roscoe ends up in the Hale autoshop bcs it’s too recognisable for Stiles' work but once Derek got rid of the ridiculous amounts of duct tape on it, he managed to fix the thing
ON TO THE MOVIE
Beginning bit still happens and the thingie gets free boohoo
Isaac also works at the shelter w Scott and is also having Allison dreams but Kira helps them understand the dreams + the ritual (which is also why Deaton dealt w Argent alone bcs kitsune also reply compulsively to riddles(?) me thinks)
Also Scott isn’t weirdly hung on Allison like sure the movie was cute and Scalia was weird af imo but Scira was fr fr and yet they kept on w the whole ‘they’re the only ones for each other’ crap which ain’t it
Eli still has an obsession with Roscoe (sames)
Mason is also a consultant with the arson cases bcs chem teacher + accelerant fires (the sheriff’s station isn’t exactly the most high tech of places)
Stiles is in Mexico sans Roscoe bcs of a possible lead on Kate bcs they did not need her adding fuel to the metaphorical fire
Shit ain’t awkward w Scalia bcs that was never really a thing (she just copied Lydia’s panic attack hack to save his butt/eyes rather than snogging bcs emotions)
No more ‘o Eli barely knows anyone - they all left when he was a kid’ this nerd now a bajillion uncles and aunts or wtv and also there ain’t no way wolves use that ‘2nd cousin once removed’ bull bcs its my canon and that shit don't make no sense to me - anyone from your parents gen is basically your uncle/aunt
The dork’s like a living bestiary just bcs of everyone he knows
Never realised just how canon the autistic!Malia hc was damn
More rage from Malia at seeing Derek, her cousin!!, almost die - nerds had 15 years to get to know each other
Oni dimensional transportation magic is in a similar vein to the wild hunt’s
slashing/decapitation = death
Straight stabbing = transportation
Yea we get it Peter’s a dick wtv - he ain’t that much of a dick so he ain’t so lighter-happy but he gets it done bcs a cigarette lighter ain’t exactly gonna get it handled
Peter x Melissa? Aight. Melissa x Argent? No- it ain’t it, dating when you’re kids are/did
Peter and Argent are top tier frenemies tho
Kira goes with Lydia and Jackson to try and deal with the nogitsune
Isaac and Scott go to deal w Allison
No weird ‘save Allison’ speech when she’s hunting a child like prioritise y’all also,,, Scira+Scisaac bitches duh
Post sheriff's station, Kira goes with Hikari, Theo and Liam bcs handling the human behind the nogitsune would only do so much but yea they still get captured due to a lack of silver
Nogitsune can’t help but brag like a dick at Kira’s arrival bcs of his history with the Yukimura clan
Ain’t no ‘aishiteru’ on my watch simply bcs i do not vibe
Yea Scott and Isaac are having mad flashbacks + wolfsbane poisoning whew
She just sticks a couple of poisoned arrows in Isaac and leaves him half-dead in the forest bcs convenience and drags him back to the base as insurance
The convincing, the confessions, the flashbacks can include Scott but not for the most part - she dropped him and they were good w it; the show sidelining her boyfriend for her ex in her death scene was bad enough
Kira and Hikari work together to save Scott with their foxfire bcs being in the nogitsune’s realm dampens everyone powers, including theirs
DEREK DOES NOT DIE FUCK THAT SHIT
EVERYONE’S THERE AND THEY ALL CAME AS THEY DID IN THE NORMAL REALM (AKA BEACON HILLS) SO THEY USE THE WEAPONS AND TURN HIM INTO A NASTY FOX-WOLF-PINCUSHION AND (THROWBACK TO THE BEGINNING OF THE MOVIE) KIRA SKEWERS THE BITCH RIGHT DOWN THE FUCKING MIDDLE SO NO ONE HAS TO HOLD HIM DOWN WHEN PARRISH LIGHTS THE MOTHERFUCKER UP
o and obvsly no ‘Derek's a true alpha’ stuff bcs the lore is way too confused already and I’m pretty sure you can’t be a true alpha if you’ve killed
Ahem
Because of how old the nogitsune is/primordial shit, no one really knows if he’s dead frfr but at least he’s no longer physically in their realm so yay
Scira 🤝 Scisaac 🤝 Allisaac
Hikari gets to go home and forget Beacon Hills ever existed (good for her)
At the end of the movie, post credit style, Stiles returns to Beacon Hills, safe and sound, having sent Kate to werejaguar prison (AKA the Eichen House of Mexico) bcs she was also heading to Beacon Hills w dreams of Allison
He caught her past New Mexico, having avoided the Hamrammr (substitute species for sk*nw*lk*rs bcs that term ain’t mine to use; it's the Norse term for shapeshifter - separate from berserker and other shifter myths; just replace the species role for role; they're also rare and hecking good at what they do etc etc)
Anywho mans starts like 'you would not believe what I just went through blah blah', all rambling and everyone just looks at him. like. :| and then he's like 'what did you do?' and Derek explains everything bcs Scott's busy with the polycule lmao
And then Sterek kiss bcs 15 years of denial, PLUS the queerbaiting AND getting superhelled is more than enough thanks
THE END (OF THIS WHOLE FUCKING UNIVERSE)

Make it Real
---
"I'm done with guys," Stiles declares, bursting into Theo's bedroom of their shared apartment.
Once they no longer were required to live on campus, it just made the nose sense. They've been best friends since they were in diapers. They're both going to school to be veterinarians, splitting the cost of rent by living together is perfect. Even more so when they know they can handle living together with no issues. They’ve had more sleepovers than they can count.
“Okay,” Theo chuckles, pausing Hannibal, “what happened this time?”
Stiles flops on the bed beside him, his Omega scent fluttering into the air. Theo has to stifle his growl to be able to hear Stiles’ words. “Derek,” he whines.
The Alpha doesn’t hold back his growl then. Or his annoyance. Derek Hale, Alpha werewolf and Stiles’ ex-boyfriend. Bastard dumped the Omega for this chick Paige he’d met, only for her to leave him too. Stiles has been trying to win the wolf back ever since. Theo can’t entirely blame him. They were together for nearly two years and Derek more than implied that he wanted to be mates.
With that said, he’d hoped his best friend would’ve dropped it by now.
But that could be his biased hatred towards Derek for hurting Stiles.
Or the fact that Theo has wanted Stiles for as long as he can remember.
“What’d he do?” Theo asks, trying to calm the coyote in his chest.
“He keeps ignoring me,” Stiles flails his hands. “Even if I just try to say hello to the guy, he acts as though I’m not even there. It’s embarrassing,” the Omega whispers, sadness clouding his sweet smell. It’s bad enough that Stiles’ scent is seeping into the Alpha’s sheets, he can’t handle it being filled with sadness too.
The coyote really wants to break Derek.
But Stiles would never forgive him.
If he plans to mate with the Omega, Theo has to be smart about this. “Did you do what I suggested?”
“Yes!” The Omega says truthfully, “I flirted with Isaac right in front of him. Derek couldn’t have cared less!”
As much as the coyote wants Stiles for himself, he’s first and foremost the supportive best friend. He told Stiles that one of the best ways to get an Alpha to take interest in you is to make them jealous. Other than growing up together, how else do you think Theo became head over heels for the Omega? He was insanely jealous of every single Alpha that was allowed to put their hands on Stiles.
Seeing him with Derek was the literal worst.
“Well, I hate to break it to you, sweetheart,” the Alpha adjusts himself on his bed to face the other boy, “flirting with his packmate probably wasn’t the best course of action.”
“What? Why?” Stiles sits up, brows pinched, “I thought that would annoy him the most.”
“Think about it. One of Derek’s Betas wouldn’t undermine him like that.” Theo explains, “it probably didn’t bother him because he’d never see Isaac as a threat. You gotta go after someone who Derek would think could actually take you away from him.”
The Omega contemplates his words, lips pursing, “like who?”
“Me,” Theo says without missing a beat.
What?
This was not part of his plan! Stiles was supposed to fail at making Derek jealous and then give up on the wolf first. Then Theo was going to slowly show his interest so as not to overwhelm his friend.
“You?” Stiles narrows his eyes.
Think, Raeken!
“Well, y-yeah,” the Alpha says, giving the cogs spinning in his head a chance to form a full idea. Got it. “I’m an Alpha that you’ve been close to since childhood. I know he was always put off by our relationship and living arrangement. You can lie to me and tell me you don’t find me attractive, but your chemosignals will tell both me and Derek the truth. Pretend to date me. I’m sure Derek will come crawling back in no time.”
Or so that I can convince you I’m a better mate.
“Wait, you’re serious?” Stiles’ chemosignals are all over the place. Refusing to land on one definitive feeling.
“What better way to make Derek jealous than to have a hot Alpha on your arm?” Theo asks.
“Theo, you’re my best friend.”
The coyote shrugs a shoulder, “your point?”
“Wouldn’t that be weird?” Stiles flails, unsure of himself. It’s cute. “Or wildly unbelievable?”
He’s been dying to kiss Stiles for years. So no. No weirdness here, at least from Theo. Also wouldn’t be the first best friends turned couple before either. “No,” the coyote shakes his head, “I don’t think so.”
Stiles’ face runs through a series of expressions. Surprise. At the offer itself or that Theo’s willing to do so, he doesn’t know. Uncertainty. As if the coyote isn’t being honest. Contemplation. To be honest, when doesn’t Stiles think about everything? And something akin to acceptance when he asks, “just to make Derek jealous?”
“Of course,” Theo smiles, lying through his teeth.
Agreeing to let Theo be his fake boyfriend was something Stiles wasn’t prepared for in the slightest. Like the Alpha said, he’s more than aware of what his best friend looks like. The Omega had a very confusing first heat. Not only did his father have to literally drag him away from Theo to get him to the heat center, while he was there Stiles had more than a few orgasms over the thought of his best friend. The Omega never gave much thought to it because he got his first heat right next to a kind and familiar Alpha. Of course his hormones made him a little confused.
And he never breathed a word of it to Theo.
And it never happened again.
So Stiles assumes it was just a teenage fluke.
But this is a little different.
Holding hands with Theo on campus as they walk to class together. Having dinner at one of the cafes instead of at home like usual. Literally sharing their meals so that not only Derek, but other Alphas can see that he’s well taken care of. Stiles knows it’s so people can actually see them being a couple and all that, but still. It’s different.
Because even when they get home, the coyote doesn’t drop the charade.
Stiles is in the kitchen grabbing a drink before they sit down and watch a movie. His mind has been racing over the last two weeks. It’s like all he can think about is Theo and he doesn’t know how he’s meant to feel about that. The human’s brain and heart are trying their best to communicate together, but they’re stuck in a wind tunnel and lines keep getting crossed.
“Something on your mind?” The Alpha comes up behind him, wrapping an arm around his middle and kissing his cheek before walking past him to the pantry.
No one is here. No one could possibly see them right now. And yet Theo is still being tactile and acting like his boyfriend. It’s confusing. “Oh, just got lost in thought about what movie we should watch,” Stiles says, cracking open a mountain dew and taking a sip. It’s half true, they haven’t decided what to watch yet, just that they wanted to.
Theo grabs a bag of candy from the pantry, coming back and putting his arm around the Omega’s shoulder. “They put the new Black Panther on Disney plus,” the Alpha suggests, leading them back to the living room. “I know you wanted to watch that.” The coyote settles himself laying on his side on the couch, opening his arm.
He should be used to it by now. Theo loves to snuggle up to him when they’re out here. Still kisses his cheek behind closed doors; no Stiles isn’t entirely over that yet. The Omega puts his drink down on the coffee table, joining Theo. He’s quickly tucked under the Alpha’s chin, Theo’s hand not in the bag of candy is curled around Stiles’ wrist, thumb brushing along the skin, arm snug on his waist. No sooner does the Marvel logo pop up on the screen is Theo rumbling in his chest, pleased with the scenting.
Stiles really thought things wouldn’t change in the privacy of their home. He’s not exactly unhappy about it either. More surprised.
“You want one?” Theo whispers, offering a piece of the nerds cluster.
“Sure,” the Omega goes to grab it, but the coyote’s fingers bump against his lips. Giving him the offered sweet himself. Stiles’ Omega nature is damn near preening from the treatment of an Alpha catering to him like that.
When the emotional movie ends and Stiles wipes the last of his tears away, the boys go their separate ways to go to bed.
Stiles doesn’t know how long he lays awake in bed unable to sleep.
A glance at the digital clock on his nightstand glowing two-thirty tells him it’s been hours.
His heat is coming up in the next week and Stiles doesn’t know if he should ask the coyote to go with him. It’s not unheard of for couples not to spend heats together before they’ve actually mated. But he understands that that would definitely make Derek jealous. He never spent a heat with Stiles despite having asked the Omega.
But Stiles just doesn’t know. Wouldn’t that be overstepping the bounds of their fake relationship? Because that would mean they’d have sex. That’s a lot more than a few half kisses and far too much to ask.
“H-hey, Theo,” the Omega knocks on Theo’s bedroom door. “Can I ask you something?”
When the fuck did he even get out of bed? Stiles was sure his head was on his pillow just a second ago.
The door opens, the Alpha’s in nothing but a pair of tight, black boxer briefs. He rubs his eye, “what’s up?” Sleep thick in Theo’s raspy voice.
It’s late. But Stiles can’t sleep. His brain won’t shut up. And with his heat this close, the Omega just feels uncomfortable in his own skin. Theo’s scent has always calmed him down and been an amazing comfort. It’s been years since he’s asked this, but trying to annoy Derek, maybe he can kill two birds with one stone. Walk around smelling like his heat and Theo and make himself feel a little better.
The coyote yawns, “Stiles?”
Right. He’s just standing here staring. The Omega startles, “you know what? It’s late, I’ll just ask in the morning. Sorry,” Stiles mutters, turning around.
“No,” Theo grabs his hand, entwining their fingers. “What’s going on?”
“I-” the Omega huffs, looking at his feet. Now uncomfortable on top of everything else. “Do you remember when you used to cuddle with me before my heats to help me sleep?”
The hand holding his twitches, “yeah, I remember. Are you-” Theo clears his throat, “do you need help?”
The Omega’s free hand rubs the back of his neck, feeling even more sheepish meeting the gaze of the coyote. “If that wouldn’t be too much trouble.”
Theo’s face softens, “of course. Come on, Little Omega,” the Alpha scoops him up in his arms, nuzzling Stiles’ neck. Gently kicking his door close, Theo carries the Omega to his bed, settling them under the sheets. The Alpha’s smell fills Stiles’ nostrils, he’d purr if he could. “I’ve got you,” the coyote rumbles in his chest, rubbing Stiles’ back.
“Thank you,” the Omega mumbles into Theo’s chest, falling asleep in no time.
Sticky.
Why is Theo sticky? And why the hell is he so fucking hot? Last thing he remembers is Stiles asking to stay with- Stiles!
Theo’s eyes spring open, jolting in bed. The sweet, heady scent of Stiles’ heat floods his senses. The Alpha growls, fangs making his gums ache. Fuck, he smells good. But they haven’t talked about this. And the Omega is whining in his arms, grinding against Theo’s leg.
He has to move. Theo needs to get up. Get out of his bed and get Stiles to the campus’ heat center. Because if he stays…
“Theo,” the Omega whines, still asleep, hard cock digging into Theo’s thigh.
Now.
Theo has to go now.
With great care and even more difficulty, Theo manages to take a controlled breath and peel himself off of the Omega. God, the sound Stiles makes when he does it kills the Alpha where he stands. It hurts him so fucking much to hear it, he wants to ease Stiles’ pain so badly. But he can’t. Or rather won’t. Not without explicit, coherent consent.
Luckily, Stiles’ room is right across from his. With it being close, the Omega should have a bag ready. Shoving his sweats and a shirt on, the Alpha heads to the human’s room. Sure enough, right next to his door is a small duffel bag waiting. If Theo sneaks in the shirt he wore the day before for Stiles’ comfort, well, no one needs to know that but him.
Getting Stiles into his truck was an ordeal and a half. Every time he tried to put the Omega in the passenger seat, he looked at the coyote with glassy eyes and whimpered Theo’s name. So he drove to the center with the human curled up in his lap. Theo almost lost it on the way there when the Omega kissed and licked his neck. It took everything in his power not to pull over and knot Stiles right there.
“Sir, will you be joining him?” The male nurse asks from behind the reception desk after helping Theo check the Omega in.
Theo coughs, “no.”
“Alpha,” Stiles whines, reaching out for him from the chair they’re using to bring him to a room.
The nurse purses his lips, judgment evident as he taps his pen on the desk, “kind of seems like he wants you with him.”
The Alpha tries to suppress his aggravated growl. He’s not some asshole Alpha refusing to take care of his Omega, dickhead. “I gave him one of my shirts,” Theo explains, hanging on by a thread. The nurse looks unimpressed, and the coyote really wants to punch him. “We haven’t had a chance to talk about it yet and his heat hit early. I don’t want him to wake up when the fog clears and regret his decision.”
The man instantly deflates, “that’s sweet,” he smiles.
The Alpha growls, claws springing free on the counter. He heard Stiles call for him again. Pleading in the smallest, saddest voice. “You’re going to have to sedate me.” Theo can smell the salt of his tears.
“What?”
“I can hear him calling my name. Crying for me,” Theo says. The look on the nurse's face tells him his eyes are glowing red. “I can’t promise that I won’t burst in there to claim what’s mine. I won’t do that without proper consent. But my instincts are too high, if he moans my name-” he slurs the words through his fangs. Stiles is literally crying. “Sedate. Me,” he adds, Alpha tone fueling his voice. “Now.”
“Right away, sir,” the man gestures behind the coyote.
Everything goes dark.
Stiles isn’t sure if he stole one of Theo’s shirts or if the Alpha gave it to him. Either way, the Omega was grateful to have his scent.
It was kind of weird to Stiles at first seeing the coyote come out of his own room. The Omega was terrified that Theo was someone else’s heat partner. But the Alpha informed him that Stiles cried out for him; a lot. That it got to his coyote and Alpha nature pretty badly. It mildly- okay, pretty badly- embarrassed Stiles that Theo needed to be sedated because of him.
Because even though he was told, the Omega was too far gone to actually remember asking for Theo.
Not that he would’ve minded; if Theo joined him that is.
But he appreciated the coyote’s consideration about them not talking about it first.
“I could go for a shower and a coffee,” Theo says when they pull up to their apartment building. “How’s that sound?”
“So good,” Stiles groans. Caffeine is very much needed after the week he had. Maybe he can get a good enough caffeine high that he won't have to think about how badly he wanted Theo for his heat. Or how much his shirt helped. That the Omega feels empty because, according to the nurses, Stiles refused to help himself. He jerked himself off a lot, but didn’t even look at the knotting dildos that were offered. In his heat crazed mind, it was Theo or nothing.
The Alpha helps Stiles get out of the truck, his body is still pretty sore. Theo takes the bag in one hand and loops his free arm around the human. It’s the most contact Stiles has gotten since they left the center.
It’s nice.
His Omega is fawning.
Seems like that childhood crush isn’t as juvenile as the Omega thought.
Maybe he should call this off. Stiles is finding himself wanting it to be real. He’s forgotten the whole point was to make Derek jealous. But all it did was make him develop genuine feelings for the coyote.
Fuck.
“You can have the shower first,” Theo offers, opening their front door. “I gotta make sure my professors got the email from the heat center,” he says, handing Stiles the bag.
“Okay, thanks,” the Omega says, ducking his head to hide the small smile, dropping the bag in his room. He has to physically bite his tongue to not turn around and ask the Alpha about the shirt. Instead, he lays out some fresh clothes and heads to the bathroom.
Yes, he took a shower before he left the center because Stiles was caked in sweat and slick and cum. However, he can still feel the heat center in his pores. The Omega can’t stand it. And his sensitive nose doesn’t appreciate not smelling like Theo anymore. The scent from his shirt wore off around the second or third day, he’s not certain.
It’s weird, he thinks as he scrubs himself clean with the coyote’s body wash. Yes, Stiles is that desperate for his smell. During all of his heats at the center, the human never craved Derek the way everyone says he did with Theo. Nor did his nose, at least until after their breakup, miss the wolf’s scent as much.
What the hell has he gotten himself into?
As much as he’d like to drown himself in a contemplative, emotional crisis shower, Stiles turns the water off and wraps his towel around his waist. His growling stomach overruling everything else. “Shower’s yours,” the Omega announces, padding back to his room to get dressed.
After hearing the shower turn back on, Stiles checks the messages he’d missed. There’s one from his father telling him that Theo informed him what’s going on and asking to call when he’s home. Stiles will do that…later. He’s too tired for that much human interaction. The Omega at the very least texts his father with the promise to call tomorrow.
Just as he’s about to lock his phone, a new text comes in when the human sits on the couch to wait for Theo. It’s from Derek. Showing this is actually the fourth message from the wolf. The Omega’s heart goes into overdrive reading them.
>>I heard your heat hit early, I hope you’re doing okay…are you there with Theo?
>>Can we talk when you get back?
>>I miss you.
>>I’m sure you guys just got back, but please, I just want to talk.
“It worked,” Stiles scoffs in disbelief. Derek is jealous of his “relationship” with Theo. And he thinks they spent the Omega’s heat together. It’s exactly what he wanted. So why isn’t he happier about it? Why is it making his stomach flip upside down in a very much not fun way?
“What worked?” Theo asks, stepping into the living room while pulling his shirt over his head.
The small line of skin the Omega catches a flash of halts his thought process. “What?” Stiles asks, still staring at the Alpha’s clothed stomach. He really doesn’t know what they were talking about. Honestly didn’t even really hear what Theo had said either.
The coyote chuckles, the sound snapping Stiles’ gaze back to the Alpha’s face. Theo comes and sits on the couch next to him, their arms and thighs touching. “I asked you what worked?” There’s humor in Theo’s voice, knowing good and well what distracted the Omega.
He’s so fucked.
What the hell is he doing?
“Derek,” Stiles clears his throat, waving his phone in the air. “He wants to ‘talk’, whatever the hell that means. Says he misses me. And I’m pretty sure he thinks we spent my heat together.”
It’s hard to place the emotion behind the expression on the coyote’s face. But only for the smallest of seconds. Because when their eyes meet, Theo’s donned a mask of indifference. “That’s a good thing, isn’t it?” The Alpha adjusts himself on the couch, but all it does is put distance between them.
It feels like it was deliberate.
The Omega barely prevents the whine in his throat at the loss. His body quickly growing cold. He doesn’t like it at all.
“Isn’t that what you wanted?” Theo’s voice is carefully guarded, almost completely emotionless.
It tugs at the human’s heart.
“Uh, yeah,” Stiles says, barely believing his own words. “I guess it was.” Before. The unspoken word burns the back of his throat like a hot poker.
“Are you going to talk to him?” The Alpha asks, pointedly looking at the floor. “I won’t stop you, if that’s what you’re worried about. I’m just your fake boyfriend, remember?” Stiles doesn’t miss how fake the smirk on Theo’s face is.
Stiles wishes he could read chemosignals. The coyote’s voice is so monotone, but there’s a hint of sourness that he’s trying to control. It’s maddening.
“Um. Maybe, yeah,” the Omega puts his phone in his pocket. “I don’t know. We’ll see. Right now,” he leans closer to the coyote, enjoying the way Theo wraps his arm around his shoulder. And lets Stiles tuck his head into the crook of his neck. Stiles nuzzles himself close, rubbing himself against Theo’s skin. “All I want to do is go get some food and coffee with you.”
It kind of seems like all he wants is Theo.
How the hell is he going to tell the coyote?
Stiles doesn’t know if he can handle Theo rejecting him.
Theo tightens his arm around him, “oh,” he snorts. “I’m buying you food now, too?” The Alpha teases.
“Theo Raeken,” the Omega gasps dramatically. Sitting up he sees the grin on the Alpha’s face. The real one. “Fake boyfriend or not, you know how I get when I’m hungry.”
“Oh yeah,” Theo pokes his side, making the human yelp. He doesn’t stop tickling Stiles until he’s nearly crying from laughing. It takes a second for the Omega to realize he’s speaking, “you’re nothing short of a whiny brat,” the Alpha jokes as Stiles falls back on the couch. The coyote ends up on top of him and the Omega’s heart stutters, Theo’s face is so close.
Stiles desperately tries to catch his breath, hoping his heart calms the fuck down. Even in public all they’ve ever done is hold hands, scent, and kiss one another’s cheek. Maybe the corner of the mouth if they’re not paying attention.
But good god, with his hands on the coyote’s chest and staring at his beautiful eyes, Stiles wants nothing more than for Theo to kiss him. There’s a hand on his waist, gently stroking the skin and the Omega is about ready to have a meltdown. His own chemosignals must be telling a colorful story for him. He can’t fucking breathe.
“Let’s get you some food,” the Alpha whispers, gently moving hair off Stiles’ forehead. He leans down and brushes their noses together. His entire demeanor having changed; once they stopped talking about Derek.
The whole walk to the cafe on campus, the Omega has been trying to figure out how to go about telling Theo. Because it could go one of two ways. The Alpha will end it and most likely never speak to him again. Or, judging by the way the coyote acted when they talked about Derek- and once they stopped- Theo could be more than accepting.
That’s Stiles’ hope at least as they walk hand in hand into the cafe.
“Want your usual?” Theo asks.
Stiles nods, “extra cheese and pickles though, please.”
The Alpha kisses the corner of his mouth, “you got it, sweetheart. Why don’t you go wait over by pick-up? You know the drinks are usually ready before I even have a chance to pay.”
“Fair point,” Stiles his hand before letting it go to wait. Theo’s not wrong, this place is known for their quickness. He drums his fingers on the counter.
“Stiles.”
The Omega bristles, more than familiar with the voice saying his name. He didn’t text the wolf back for a reason. Stiles wanted at least one coherent day to process his thoughts.
Thanks, Universe, truly.
“Hey, Derek,” the human sighs, turning to face the Alpha. “What’s up?” Stiles asks, seeing Theo ordering out of the corner of his eye.
“How are you?” Derek asks, putting his hands in the front pockets of his jeans. Exactly the way the wolf used to do when flirting with him.
Stiles, completely unaffected, replies, “I’m good. Did you need something?”
“Drinks for Theo,” the worker calls, sliding two iced coffees on the counter.
The coyote even remembered the cinnamon on the whipped cream. The wolf never paid that much attention.
“Thanks,” Stiles says, placing them in a carrier before facing the other Alpha again.
“Well,” Derek rubs the back of his neck, “I miss you. And I’m just really sorry about everything that happened. I don’t know what I was thinking. I-I wasn’t thinking.”
The Omega says nothing, crossing his arms to his chest. The coyote is swiping his card in Stiles’ peripherals. Come on, Theo. Walk a little faster, please. Stiles doesn’t want to deal with the words he thinks the wolf’s going to say.
The Alpha wolf leans close, “I was hoping you’d give me another chance.”
He wants to bolt. But then Theo gets within arm’s reach and the Omega’s body moves for him. Stiles yanks the coyote to him, successfully moving Derek back. Please don’t hate me. Before Theo can speak, Stiles slams their mouths together. What better way to tell the wolf no than kiss his boyfriend right in front of him?
Theo growls in the back of his throat, one hand going in the Omega’s back pocket to pull them flush. The other cups Stiles’ cheek while he deepens the kiss. It isn’t until the Alpha’s tongue is sliding against his own that Stiles worries about his actions. Surely the coyote saw Derek and he’s just playing his part. But still, this had to be more than his best friend signed up for.
Derek clears his throat and the Omega remembers where they are.
Stiles tries to pull away, embarrassed with himself.
The Alpha’s hand comes out of his pocket, settling on Stiles’ lower back, preventing him from moving away. “I’m not done with you yet,” Theo says against his mouth.
“What?” Stiles asks, shock doesn’t even come close.
Theo’s eyes crinkle with his smile, leaning back to tell the employee, “make that to-go, please.” The girl behind the counter blushes, nodding in acknowledgement. “It’s about time,” the coyote mumbles softly. He goes to kiss the Omega again, their lips barely brushing together before he stops again. “Oh, one more thing,” he looks at the wolf, “he’s my mate. So no, you won’t be getting another chance.”
He’s his what now?
“Bullshit,” Derek growls.
“Goodbye, Derek,” the coyote grins, not even looking at the wolf. Stiles stares at him, a goofy smile on his face. The Omega is overjoyed when Theo’s lips are on his again. But the other Alpha doesn’t leave or back off. Theo growls deeply in his chest, pulling away with searing rubies, shocking Stiles to his core.
The coyote is getting territorial over him.
It’s hot.
The cafe has gone silent.
Derek had tapped Theo’s shoulder, interrupting them, “I think Stiles can make that decision for himself.”
Theo snarls, red irises not going anywhere any time soon. “Did he argue with me?” He turns around to face the wolf, “did he correct me? Run to you? Anything? Or did Stiles grab me and kiss me to get away from you? I think he made his choice just fine. Right?” Theo looks at him over his shoulder.
The Omega is practically swooning when he breathes, “yeah.” Though the coyote had said it’s about time, Stiles is a little skeptical that this is just all for show. He could’ve made the order to-go so that the Omega doesn’t have to be around Derek when he’s clearly uncomfortable.
Theo growls for an entirely different reason, hunger crystal clear in his scarlet eyes. “So while he’s entirely worth it,” the coyote squares his shoulders, setting his stance, “unless you plan on challenging me officially- a fight you won’t win mind you, I’ve wanted Stiles since we presented-”
He has?
The coyote isn’t lying. This isn’t something you just say to make a guy jealous. Theo means every word. Has meant every word since the beginning. Holy fuck.
Be still Stiles’ fucking heart.
“-I suggest you back the fuck off and respect his choice,” Theo warns.
“S-Stiles?” Derek looks at him with puppy eyes.
“I said I choose Theo,” Stiles reiterates, entwining his fingers with the coyote’s.
“To-go order for Theo,” the girl squeaks, putting the bag on the counter.
Theo grabs the bag with, “smells great, thank you,” he nods to the girl. “Let’s get you out of here, sweetheart,” the Alpha whispers in his ear, nipping the lobe. “Our bed is waiting for you to get a pretty mark,” Theo says with a growl, fangs lightly grazing the crook of his neck.
Stiles shivers and hastily grabs the drink carrier, not even bothering to look at the wolf when they walk away. Derek broke his heart. While he was a bit misguided in wanting to get him back, the Omega is thrilled to learn that this was never fake for Theo. And that he’s about to go home and get his mate.

Teen Wolf Movie Review
I will admit when I first heard that there was going to be a movie, I was pretty damn well ecstatic as I think most of us were. I was excited to revisit these characters and see what they had been up to. But as the months went on and announcements were made about the upcoming movie, my excitement began to dwindle in the lead up to it’s release.
I’ve gone into this viewing already knowing the plot and having seen the spoilers on my social media feeds and by reading the reviews. So, without further ado, I will now begin my own review.
FYI Spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned.
Okay, I’m gonna bite the bullet and just say it – the movie actually wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be, but I didn’t exactly love it either. I think the problem lies in the title because it’s misleading in that it actually doesn’t feel like a movie, instead it feels like a 3-part episode crammed together, overstuffed with content and easter eggs, and oddly paced at times with a rushed ending.
It feels like a soft reboot as well as a sequel to Season 3 and Season 3 only. Anything that happened from Season 4 onwards feels irrelevant and unconnected and at times it seems like Jeff doesn’t even remember his own character’s or what happened to them unless it’s Scott or Allison. By making Scallison endgame again it has simply undone seasons worth of character development just for the sake of bringing Scott and Allison back together. And for what? I don’t really know. The show evolved over the years and changed into something I quite enjoyed but Jeff seems stuck in the past, just like the movie is at times.
The first hour takes great care to set up everything and to assemble the characters. I personally really enjoyed the first hour and I think it would have made much more sense for it not to be a movie but either a miniseries or a limited series. It would have been a stellar first episode. There just wasn’t enough time to properly deal with everything, to give anything enough room to breathe or to give the emotional beats time to hit their mark and to be fully felt let alone give any of the characters beside Scott, Allison, Eli, and Derek any resolution or closure.
The build up to the final big fight scene should have been epic but it fell short and flat and rushed with most of the characters either tied up (literally, I’m not joking, there supposed to be werewolves for christ sake) or standing around doing nothing. The plot was simply downright bonkers. Yes, it was mad crazy but at times hella enjoyable but isn’t that the charm of Teen Wolf.
Alright I’m gonna heavily divulge into the plot now. So Spoilers… and I’m gonna do by best to summarise this as best I can but like I said, it’s mad bonkers.
Mr Harris, the long forgotten about teacher who died at the hands of Jennifer Blake in 3A is actually behind everything. For what you ask? To get his revenge on Scott and his friends. I was scratching my head at this because no explanation or context is given. It’s just accepted. Like didn’t he have his head cut off or something? There were scars around his neck like it had been stitched back on, but nothing is explained about his apparent resurrection.
So basically Mr Harris flies to Japan to steal the jar that is housing the Nogitsune that is at a ramen shop that Liam and Hikari own and releases the Nogitsune who brings Allison back to life and uses the Oni to kidnap everybody and hold them hostage in a magical spirit realm located underneath the college lacrosse stadium.
The Nogitsune plan is basically to have Allison shoot Scott in the heart and have him die in her arms and make everyone watch and so he can capture their sadness to become even more powerful. Scott pretends to die but Hikari temporarily gives him her armour to protect him.
Nogitsune then turns into a werewolf-nogitsune-hybrid-monster-thing (?!?) and the impending big battle falls flat. Basically, everyone stands around doing nothing as Derek, Eli and Scott fight hybrid monster in another magical realm before breaking through to end up atop of the Nemeton that is now on the lacrosse field (?!?) It is then decided that Parrish will hug the monster and burn it to death using his hellfire but it turns out the monster won’t stay still long enough for him to it so Derek basically offers himself up to be fried to death, and dies in front of his son and the trauma cycle for the Hale’s continues.
Derek’s death doesn’t sit right with me. For one, I don’t believe Derek nor the Nogitsune are actually dead. It feels too easy like it will be the next plot to another film. But did Jeff really go I’m gonna burn Derek to death like his own family did in the house fire? Like come on, it just feels icky and wrong and if Derek had to die, I personally believe it would have had a bigger emotional impact if Derek had died earlier when Allison shot him in the neck at the high school around the 1-hour mark. That would have upped the stakes and made everything seem more direr as well as being an incredible emotional pull. It would have given the story more depth than simply being about Scott and Allison.
This might also be a controversial opinion, but I personally believe Peter should have been the one to die. It would have been a real full circle moment for the series as a whole and for his character development. Going from being the original big bad villain to sacrificing himself for a pack who he tried to kill many times and ended up helping in the end. The emotional pull would have hit harder as we already know and care about Malia unlike Eli who we barely even know.
In saying that, Eli was good addition but it’s hard to ignore that he is essentially a cardboard copy of Stiles, right down to his mannerisms. Except for being a wolf.
I don’t even know what the point of Liam and Mason being in the movie was. They were barely in it and had a combined screen time of like ten minutes and had no scenes together except for one and even that was a stretch. So, Jeff wants us to believe that these two didn’t stay best friends? It’s really hard to fathom. And I think that’s what irks me the most. My two favourite characters being basically shafted. They served no real purpose to the story other than just being there.
Other new addition Hikari was lovely, but we didn’t get much time to appreciate her or know anything about her except only that she is a kitsune and it becomes painfully obvious why Kira was relevant to the story. The lending of her armour was a pretty cool lore development but it feels like it was meant to be an arc for Kira’s story.
I would also like to point out that if it hadn’t been mentioned beforehand in interviews, I would have not known that Liam and Hikari were together and at best they felt like platonic besties like Mason and Liam should have been. Also, Hikari’s age is never mentioned but she would have to be older than 17 to own a restaurant.
Stiles’ absence had been well-warned about and while it was felt at times, Scott and Lydia’s friendship was enough to ground the movie. Arguably I think Posey and Roden turned out their best work in this. Poesy is fabulous as a leading man and Roden’s always been a powerhouse in literally any her scenes, and I have to say Lydia and Scott’s reunion scene was just the right side of poignant and palpable.
The chemistry between the rest of the cast is pretty much intact too and at times it felt like coming home or being wrapped in a nice cosy blanket and there’s some wicked enjoyment at being able to see Teen Wolf characters finally getting to swear on screen, even if it felt unwarranted at times.
At times it was corny as fuck and mad bonkers but hey, that was part of Teen Wolf’s allure and charm. The humour of the series is still there but not quite as strong as it could have been. Shelley’s deadpan delivery of Malia’s lines had been chucking at my screen and Jackson and Peter were just there as comedic relief. The scene where Peter literally crawls around the rock face sniffing the ground was just hands down too funny and plain weird.
Malia and Parrish’s relationship didn’t gel with me, and the nude scene wasn’t really needed. Although it was nice to see their hot bods. I also liked the brotherly sisterly thing going on with Malia and Eli. And also the hint at Malia and Derek’s niece-uncle relationship.
Like most of the movie, nothing is mentioned or explained about what happened after the show ended and we’re left wondering about what happened to all the relationships that were in place when the credits rolled around for the last episode. I think that’s my biggest gripe is that we have no real answers to what happened after the end of show. There’s no mention of the war or what happened to Monroe. Was she caught? Is she dead? Does everyone know that supernatural creatures exists? Like was a 15-year time jump really necessary? I think 5 years would have done just fine. It’s sad that the pack didn’t stay together because I really don’t believe that would have happened. Yes, some of them were going off to college and whatnot, but it still made sense for them to return or at least stay in contact.
Apparently, the only couple still together is Ethan and Jackson, of all people. Apparently Lydia and Stiles broke up because Lydia kept having a recurring dream or premonition if you will, of them having a car accident and Stiles dying. I don’t how to feel about that. But I guess that’s why the Jeep was left in Beacon Hills.
There is literally no mention of Corey or Theo or anyone else. Scott and Malia’s relationship is reduced to nothing but an awkward reunion and then simply brushed aside, just like about everything else that’s happened in the series after the events of 3B. And I find it weird that Hayden didn’t return. If Scott needed his pack you would think he’d knew all of his bitten betas.
The nods and easter eggs back to the show were a delight and purely fan service and I lapped them all up. It was also nice to see Victoria Argent back in two brief cameos when Allison is talking to the Nogitsune and he turns into her mother. The flashbacks were great too.
I loved that Liam had the opening scene and that Scott trusted him to keep the jar safe. It does back sense to have the jar far away as possible from Beacon Hills, but it is disappointing that he barely interacted with anyone else. Not Mason. Not Scott. Again, what happened to the alpha and beta bond that is supposed to be stronger than a parental? But did like Liam coming in for the save on Derek.
Same with Mason, his scenes were basically with Parrish and the Sherriff, and I don’t buy Mason being a cop. Jeff dropped the ball with them, and it clearly shows. Painfully so.
All in all, it wasn’t the return to Beacon Hills that I’d hoped for. It was entertaining and had flashes to its heyday but ultimately it was disappointing too. It feels like Jeff wrote a love letter for only half the show and failed to move pass that era of the show and at times reads like a canon divergence fan fic.
Would I watch Teen Wolf Movie again? Probably, but just for shits and giggles and the warm hug. And just to see Liam with his beard. But really, I’d rather rewatch the series again.
I’m gonna head back to my Thiam corner of the fandom now and believe that Liam ran off with Theo to Japan to be together away from the pack. Striked up a beautiful friendship with Hikari and Theo was unable to return to Beacon Hills to help because he was off galivanting with Isaac in Paris 😊
And for those who did watch the film, I’d love to hear your thoughts and take too.
