With Joel the age thing I think for him is far more about experience and maturity. If this was pre outbreak then I think yeah age gaps would be far less likely for him.

But Joel doesn't seem to me a man thats attracted to you just on normal guy first appearances. Physical attraction just isn't something he would have seen in a normal way anymore like hes not meeting a woman and busy thinking shes hot. It seems more like he grows attracted to someone once he knows them because he simply has more complex things to focus on then looks.

I think your age means a lot less to Joel if youre capable. Do I think Joels out there bagging 19 year olds? No definitely not. But I think age gaps for Joel would only be a problem to him, if you aren't somewhat on his level of capability.

Are you immature and naive, can you or can you not handle or protect yourself, can you relate to his emotional maturity or are you too different? Beacuse in the world he lives in, I think its far more likely that any age gap relationship he finds himself attracted too, would be less of a hesitancy for him,

If youre simply someone who doesnt behave lile youre clearly much younger. I personally think as long as you show you are mature and don't need him to coddle you to get through the world, I think hes actually less likely to care.

He doesn't seem like he wants a too young and naive partner he needs to guide and defend as this older protector. Joel has too much baggge to carry that on his own now, he needs a partner who is capable to help shoulder the burden along side him, someone he can also lean on to support him not just the other way around (i.e Joel didnt just rescue Ellie beacuse she needed him, he resuced her beacuse he also clearly needed her. It was a mutual emotional support between them that he couldnt let go). And I think if he meets you and your experianced, and you clearly match him in that sense, I don't think he quite cares about age as much.

The bigger the age gap the more he may hesitate to pursue you sure, but I don't think its the deciding factor when Joels a man who values capability and mature emotional support in those he cares about.

Maybe thats just me, but Joel strikes me far more as someone who doesn't look at love with an average lens of casual attraction, but more of finding love after spending time with someone he can connect with after years of shutting himself off.

Again I may be wrong, thats just my badly worded point of view on it, I hope that made sense

I meant to send this wayyy earlier about that blorbo ask and I totally forgot when I got home from work XD How about Spy x Family? I've seen you reblog stuff and I've heard good things about it so I'm curious!

Lmao I'm gonna assume you wanna hear about my Blorbo of Spy x Family It'd be the little gremlin Anya

She's just such a well written child character and it makes the series such a delight as a result. She's energetic she's hilarious, her expressions are probably the biggest delight of the series (like this episode the gif is from is fantastic.) She shows that while children can be extremely bright and quick, they're also still kids and prone to not understanding everything completely (like in episode one when she tries telling her new fake dad about baconries and how much she likes bacon from them while pointing to a bakery.)

She also hits the note of horrible tragic backstory that I like in characters lol

I don't want to spoil too much for you, because tbh I think you'd probably really enjoy the over all premise of the series, so I'll leave you with a lil summary

Secret agent Twilight has to infiltrate the inner circle of a reclusive politician of a neighbouring country where tensions are high and another war may possibly breakout. The only catch? This politician only goes to his kid's school functions so agent Twilight is tasked with creating a fake family and getting his fake child into the elite school this politician's kids attend. And he manages to do just that—only the fake child he finds can read minds and the fake wife he finds is actually an assassin for the country he's infiltrated.

Shenanigans ensue as each member tries to keep their secret a secret

#I could go on and on about little details about Anya I really love #but that starts to get mildly spoilery #it's a great comedy though honestly #and tatsuya endo is fantastic at drawing expressions #and it actually is the reason I've been reading manga again #cause I've been too impatient for the series to release #and gotta say #if you love good boys #you need to check this series out #because they have the goodest of good boys #his name is Bond and idk if we'll meet him in the first half of the anime or the later half #but it is a 25 episode season so if you want something that's gonna last for the season #I highly recommend it #it's also being worked on by two studios #WIT and Cloverworks #apparently they've been alternating episodes #Also if you're still unsure #just check out the op and see if you like it #it really captures the series well #cause while serious spy business ensues #there's still a lense of child-like wonder cast over it at times thanks to Anya #and the OP captures that aspect pretty well in my opinion

Big fan of when a character's grief/trauma/guilt manifests as physical symptoms. Big fan of characters keeping things so tight inside them that it makes them sick. Big fan of when the line blurs between a character's mental trauma and physical illness until it's hard to tell which is which anymore.

Been thinkin about how nations age

So many civilisations/nations die out after only a couple hundred years- their reps were young, bro

There might be the occasional America (rapid growth at a young age)- but the vast majority of them would have aged more gradually

And obv they age through development/advancement of their people and nation- but, like, is that relative?? Do you need to reach a certain level of advancement relative to your time, or is there some sort of system which reaches across time and space? What about way back, when things changed over thousands of years in what we change in a century, where nations would've been born and died with very little change? Would they age at all?

Being a nation unambiguously sucks, but the idea that the characters we see are probably the majority of their kind (who have to have existed for 200,000- ~3,000,000 years!!) to live to adulthood is gonna keep me up at night.

Phantom, the new addition to Young Justice, just accidentally made Impulse cry.

Whoops.

Impulse had been talking about a candy that had been in the future, that he missed a lot, that had no equivalent in modern times.

So the next time Danny was in the Zone, he asked Clockwork if he could reach into the future and grab a bar. Clockwork just told him that the timeline he was talking about was dead, but that the people from it were occupying the Zone if he skipped forward in time a bit; maybe one of them knows how to do a homemade version?

So he does that, with the help of Clockwork, and manages to find someone from that doomed and dead timeline that knows how to make a homemade equivalent.

He returns to the world of the living and recreates it, and Impulse is beyond ecstatic for both the food and the recipe.

Then he asks where Danny found this.

Danny, mostly human but having been something other for so long that the concept of 'Death' doesn't hit him the same way, cheerfully says he sought the dead souls of the future that had been dissolved and asked.

Now everyone is glaring at him and Impulse can't stop crying.

“huh?” you turned and he smiled, thinking how gorgeous you looked. your uniform was a lot like nobara’s, although it was lighter, like it was slightly bleached or just worn a lot, “no, i… i go here.”

“oh are you gojo-sensei’s student too?” he was excited to meet another student, it was such a big school for just a few people.

“gojo… sensei” you repeated confused.

“oh you must be utahime-sensei’s student then? from kyoto?” he tilted his head, like a puppy.

“utahime…” you whispered, “is geto here?” you asked with a certain urgency in your voice, “geto suguru.”

“who? geto?” he scratched his head, trying to remember if he heard about a sensei called geto suguru, “i don’t think i—“

“itadori!” megumi called from outside, yuuji saw him die below through the open windows of the second floor he was at, his classmate probably saw him as well.

“ah fushiguro!” he greeted his friend and turned back to you, “i’ll ask megumi, he’s been here for longer than me.”

“who you talking to?!” megumi shouted.

“her!” he pointed, you were in front of him, right by the opened window too, he couldn’t see you?

megumi even moved a bit, “itadori, there’s no one there. stop playing, we got to leave!” megumi scolded him before entering the building.

“eh?” yuuji was frowning.

“sorry, i think i’m in the wrong place” you bowed and turned away running.

“wait!” he ran after you, turning corners he thought you could’ve gone but after a few ones he reached a dead end.

“hm? yuuji?” gojo emerged from a classroom.

“gojo-sensei! there was… someone…” he looked around.

“oi, we’re waiting for you, let’s go” megumi came from where he was, grabbing yuuji by the hood of his uniform and dragging him away.

gojo watched through a window as they walked down the staircase until both boys walked out of the building.

“that was weird” you murmured from inside the classroom he was in, “that boy called you sensei” you put more rice into your hungry mouth, “does yaga know you’re pretending to be a teacher here?”

satoru closed the door, lighting another incense on the table that you used to sit. where every year on the anniversary of your death he built a shrine with food you liked.

“i thought haibara was in a mission but i saw him by the tree” you pointed behind you with your chopsticks, where, outside the classroom and behind the building remained the tree you always had lunch underneath during hot summer days.

he undid the blindfold, letting his hair fall as he sat in front of you, admiring how you never aged a day. after all, you couldn’t.

in fact, it seemed like you didn’t realize how much time has passed. every year you appeared and every year you thought it was still 2006, when you had two kouhais that did everything you asked, a girl best friend that insisted you smoked with her and two boys that were helplessly in love with you. the last year you were alive.

“is suguru not coming?” you asked with your mouth full.

gojo swallowed hard, “no, angel. it’s just us.”
