made myself extremely sad thinking about the aftermath of the Funeral (yeah you know the one) and all of the mourners returning to the waking world

and maybe it’s not obvious at first, what’s changed. maybe that’s the way things are meant to be, that a fundamental thing shifts but never completely changes. maybe there’s an absence that some can’t quite identify, a void that can never quite be filled. maybe there are missed meetings, or unanswered prayers, or a sense of grief lingering from another life.

and maybe someone will look up one unusually clear evening, at a tapestry of galaxies and distant worlds waiting to be explored

and they’ll see a new star in the sky where there wasn’t one before

It's utterly magnetic when a character's rage is quiet and precise. When they don't scream and throw things but they just b r e a t h e and very very calmly aim their fury like an arrow shooting inexorably towards the target of their wrath. It captures my attention, I lean in close, I wait for the hit. It never disappoints.
