something happening on a mission, something personal that has soap spiralling; panic and rage making him reckless, thoughtless, and ghost has to draw the line
“you’re compromised johnny; you know what that means?”
“you’re not pulling me out,” soap immediately snarls. he turns on him and ghost barely recognises him; venomous fear turning his eyes to unyielding ice. "you're not sidelining me; i need to be in this-!"
but ghost has never been afraid of venom; spat or dripped straight from bared fangs.
he snakes out a hand grip the back of his neck, jerking him in a rough shake. "if you can't think, you can't be a soldier," he growls and he flinches like he's been struck.
his lips quiver as they twist in a sneer and he wrenches, trying to free himself of his hold.
ghost doesn't let him.
"it means you give your body to me because your head ain't fucking attached to it anymore."
soap stills, body trembling beneath his hand as he sucks in shaking breaths.
he tightens his grip, pulling him closer and digs his forehead hard into his. “it means you give yourself to me so i can have the weapon that you are and use you the way you're meant to be used."
the ice in soap's eyes fractures.
ghost’s voice drops to a whisper, spoken only to johnny, not this facade of vengeance and pain, and wills it to reach him through the glaciers.
“so i can keep you safe ‘til it’s done and i can bring you back.”

Nico's love is so raw and heavy and powerful
His love raises the dead, tears open the earth, brings people back to life, goes through literal hell, destroys courtyards, grants invincibility.
Nico is so defined by loving and acting out of love and his love is so strong it changes the narrative

just my 2 cents but i think steve loses fights with people because he's a person. i think he just sucks at fighting other people in general because it's hard. i DO think he wins every fight with the alien demons from the hell dimension because yeah obviously he doesn't have to correct and can just go for it and tear them apart with his teeth and hands and weapons that are for killing not hurting, and i DO think every human altercation he has afterwards he might have to correct himself in the heat of the moment. buuut i also just think he loses fights sometimes because people have brains and monsters don't.
like when you fight a monster the goal is to KILL it so you live and when you fight a person the goal is to not get hurt or deescalate and these are two WILDLY different mindsets.
and like mayyybe it's because a part of him doesn't want to hurt other HUMANS but i think it's more that other people are just below the radar to him full stop. and any correction thereafter would be subconscious because they're Just So Nothing. and it's more that he has a part of him that kills monsters and a part of him that doesn't because a human being getting in his face is nothing like something trying to eat you and your friends alive. that part of his brain wouldn't even get switched on. it's not like PREDATOR vs PREY who has to desperately kill or be killed it's steve vs Some Fucking Guy and steve is ALSO just some fucking GUY at least until that other guy shows a hint of like, monster potential. and the switch can flip and in that case he knocks out a grown man who was a trained soldier for at LEAST a couple minutes in like, 20 seconds, and was actively winning the fight with the man trying to assault a child until that man smashed a ceramic plate over his head to desperately try and STOP him. i don't think he just "didn't see billy as a monster" because he's also human i think he just didn't get the chance to deal with him LIKE a monster.
also tangentially i think he lost the fight with jonathan before the monster slaying exp because he deliberately was provoking it (and saying the nastiest things he could think of and shoving him around TO provoke it). i don't think he wanted to "win" it he just wanted to fight him and he theoretically won when jonathan gave in and finally just hit him. i also think who wins vs who loses is an arbitrary concept because he's won EVERY fight by that count because he took the hits and carried on and like, by sheer force of will shook off a concussion, was still alive by the end of it all and everyone was safe, etc. he did what he was meant to do in his mind in every fight he's ever been a part of and therefore he's always won!!
i JUST think there's something to be said about like, yeah he loses fights all the time but it's not because he wouldn't WIN them otherwise he would END them. so.

You know what would be really badass?
If Nobara made a grand reappearance to finish off Sukuna.
She was disappointed that she wasn't much help in Shibuya so this would be a great comeback lmfao. Like she just pulls up and uses resonance on the last Sukuna finger when Sukuna is weak to finish him off
