I always felt like the moment should have been more dramatic and very apocalyptic level feeling of BAD THING happening, but it fell kind of short and was just needing to be wrapped up. Likely bc time and budget again sadly.

Zelda brainrot has begun! I was thinking about how comfy the Ordonian clothes looked and wanted to try my hand at giving Zelda and Midna some. Honestly criminal that we only got that outfit on Link during the tutorial and sumo scenes and never saw it again, I would've played the whole game like that.

Oh god is my fnafhs phase coming back. I have an AU Idea and it's very magical girl-y help (a Lil summary in the tags)
#basically y'know lily abby maggie toddy and mai? all the best girls? (ok except Abby maybe but I'll save her dw)#ok now imagine them as teen magical girls#a normal 2000's/2010's bff group who also kick ass in pretty dresses#now imagine mai and puppet being magical beings from another planet#kinda like the winx club characters that look completely human but they're fairies n stuff? there's a reason why the twins can look like-#Normal humans tho: their true form is a being like Maipett. they're two maipetts#BUT they can shapeshift to look just like any living beings they see#so they can very easily blend in with humans#now what are these beings? basically they're magical dudes that control the “Shadows”. evil spirits that can destroy life in pretty much-#any abitated planet in irreversible ways#one day some shadows breached from the maipetts control and directed themselves to earth as it was the closest living planet#so mai and Charlie as the strongest most able shadowseekers (group of specialized Maipetts with the mission to bring back Shadows to-#security in case of breaching) got a mission to go to earth find the shadows and bring them back. even destroy them if necessary#now what's the group mentioned earlier have to do with all this?#after saving lily from a shadow attack her and mai become “friends” (keep in mind Mai doesn't really know what friends even are)#but with time they do become very close#and since the shadows are never way too far from each other meaning that other shadows might be hiding in the same town Mai wanted to keep-#Lily safe. so she gave her a tiny rock that contains Maipett powers (Mai likes to keep them on her belt for decoration) and showed her-#basic attacks to at least keep Lily safe in case she gets attacked by a shadow and Mai happens to not be there#after a while tho Abby (Lily's roommate and childhood friend) finds out about her friends' powers and she thinks it's soo cool and things#but Lily and Mai especially aren't so cool about it cus pretty much all the situation is supposed to be a secret#so they and abby make a promise: Abby gets a magical gem and of course some lessons how to use it's powers and she keeps the secret#Abby agrees and she joins the group (that remains unnamed until the others join)#Toddy and Maggi were found by Charlie in the meantime. Charlie saved them both from a shadow attack and so Mai decided to give them-#magical rocks aswell with the deal that Charlie was the one to teach them about their powers this time#Toddy decides to name the group “The Shadowseekers” to reference mai and Charlie's literal job#and yeah they go on adventures around the city™ and sorroundings beating shadow's ass and learning to use their powers and work together#while also keeping the secret#idk it came up to me like some minutes ago#fnafhs

While I don't know much about it, I would probably bet there are tons of issues with the cruise industry that would make me not actually appreciate it broadly speaking - HOWEVER, I do really love a lot of the interior design of some cruise ships.. How it's almost like a miniature city crammed into one area. Multiple sections with all different aesthetic designs, a variety of shops, restaurants, activity centers, community seating areas, communal use spaces (like gyms, laundry, pools, cafeteria/buffet (which I always love anywhere)), etc. etc. but then also everyone has a little nice clean comfortable looking space of their own to retreat back to if they'd like to be alone. Maybe it's something akin to the idea of 'walkable cities', where everything you could ever want to do is kind of right there just a short walk away? I also especially love how so much stuff is stacked on top of other stuff, a layered cluster of spaces, bright open atriums, and when they're set up with little walkways down the center between a bunch of rooms so it's almost like a mini city street with apartments lining it, etc.. They often seem like they'd be SUCH a cool place to live permanently, IF only something identical was just built on solid land instead lol
#currently watching a channel on youtube where some person is reviews/tours cruise ships or something#and I'm just like wow the whole traveling part would be miserable hell and I would hate trying to get off of the stupid ship everyday#and see seomthing and make it back in time or etc. but OOOOO THE BEDROOMS! love the TINY minifrige!! eeee .. lol#perhaps just an extension of of my obsession with communal spaces. also love hospitals. nursing homes. hotels. AIRPORTS!!!#thats just how humans are meant to live for me. my ideal situation is that sot of thing like big beautiful bright communal places#but i also hate socializing i just like the idea of like. the entire communal world is in front of me but i also have my own little space t#retreat back to. youre not forced to participate. but the world is right outside your window if you WANT to go. ALSO people watching is fun#Plus i think part of what i hate most about Going Places and Doing Things is the commitment of it and traveling#especially in america where its like to get ANYWHERE it's a 3 hour drive or 15 min drive#or 20 min drive or 1 hr bus ride or blah blah. the idea of having plenty of fun little things to do that are all solidified#in ONE single complex that is also where your room is would actually encourage me to do things more because if#my health issues start flaring up or i get overwhelmed or etc. i can literally just... retreat back to my room that is a reasonably short#walk away. instead of like ''UGH now not only do i feel too bad to finish my excursion but ALSO i have a 40 min car ride ahead of me''#etc. Not saying that even in that situation I would become Super Extravert Thing Doer like i still LOOVE a quiet lifestyle mostly alone do#ing the same 5 repetitive tasks over & over again working on specific hobbies. but just that i WOULD go out SLIGHTLY more and do Activities#if the activities were already brought to ME. like a cruise ship layout where you have your little room private space but when you feel#like it on your own terms you could venture out and go to a little cafe or a swimming pool or etc. WITHOUT even having to leave#or get in a car and travel. just walk form your room to The thing. amazing.. ground breaking.. BUT especially the layers are important. I#dont mean just 'have the same features but in a way that theyre on land' I mean LITERALLY translate the EXACT layout of the cruise ship but#on ground instead. Like I want a full community cafeteria on the middle floor of my apartment complex. there should be a pool & waterslide#on the roof. A community games room on the 4th floor. a library right under my bedroom. etc. etc. Though maybe ideally I would say#add a little extra space like most people couldn't live their entire lives in a cruise ship room layout. But maybe just have the rooms expa#nded to the average size of like a 3 bedroom apartment. and then still stack them on top of each other.. More spacious decks so people can#have some plants (but also a community garden somewhere too). ANYWAY... Idk I just always love the aesthetics. I would love to tour a cruis#ship but like NOT go on a cruise EVER lol.. but just.. SEE the space. I love interiors so much. Also makes me think of worldbuilding like.#I think cruise ships could also be good inspiration for underground stacked cities in layers. things like that. OR just actually the fant#asy world version of a cruise ship lol. Honestly, in hindsight I think I missed the mark here a little bit with my original post. Because the standard powersuit in most of the games isn't actually a bad look? Not as iconic, sure, but the triangle shoulders still look good, and I've seen some fan concepts for new suit designs that go back to that in some interesting ways. I think it does help that those designs still tend to have some level of bulk to the shoulderpads, not the Varia's full Super Robot look, but at least there's some noticeable substance to them.
I love how they manage to hit that sweet spot of looking aesthetically pleasing and filling her silhouette, without stepping on the Varia suit's metaphorical toes. Samus Returns' take in particular is a really nice vibe.
No, what I was thinking of was specifically the Prime 1 version of the basic powersuit, which does specifically look bad to me. The whole design is weighted with the Varia shoulders in mind, so without them it just winds up looking really gangly and awkward. Plus, the triangle shoulders looking like they fuse directly into the sides of the chestplate instead of moving on their own is just a really weird choice. They just look weirdly piddly and flat, and it also winds up further emphasizing the weird shoulder displacement issue that the Prime Varia design shares, but can distract from. Idunno, it just makes her look like she has Kongu Mahri proportions:
So TLDR, I still love the Dread suit's redesign, but I think I was too harsh about the powersuit and the concept of triangle shoulderpads before. It can be done well, it has been done well, but Prime 1 just didn't, and that colored my perception of it in general.

Book worm questions: 43, 44, 49, and 50 please :D
43) Title of a book you own that's in the worst physical condition you have. Explain what happened to it. Post a picture if you want: Dragonflight by Anne McCaffrey! Alas, I don't have it to take a picture of, because it fully disintegrated. It was an old printing, on the pulpy paper that yellows quickly and swells and curls in humidity, and I got it already second-hand and from an un-air-conditioned stall at a giant flea market, and then I read it a lot. The glue went out of the binding and it was just a collection of pages, and the front cover had already softened to nothing, and then one day I was rereading it and couldn't hold the pages together well enough to read it at speed anymore. Runner-up is Dragonlance: The Lost Histories: The Dragons by Douglas Niles, which is as you can see now two half-books and a free-floating front cover. I got it in 1998 and have read it multiple times a year every year since.
44) The book(s) whose stories have become part of your very makeup: I listed a bunch in my answer to carrionfourth, but actually The Dragons is another good answer, as is Key of the Keplian by Lyn McConchie and Andre Norton. I got them both at the same time, and grew up with them (I was six in 1998. they might not have been entirely age-appropriate, but that didn't matter, because what they actually were was a bribe. to keep my mouth shut, about something which I won't now disclose, because they were a damn fine bribe). Also the Dragonlance: Dwarven Nations trilogy by Dan Parkinson--all of them to some extent, but most specifically and vividly the scene in the second book, Hammer and Axe, where Handil the Drum collapses the caverns. The first time a book broke my heart.
49) Do you prefer hopeful, humorous, very emotional or darker books? It's very important to me that a story has a satisfying and happy ending (gotta be both) but I usually enjoy any sort of tone on the way there. Sometimes I'll be in the mood for funny or intense or agonizing or uplifting specifically, but I think more often it's the satisfaction I crave.
50) What kind of book have you never read but always hope to find at some point in the future? This one is definitely not something I’ve never read before but it is something I’m always looking for more and better examples of--people having mind-links with animals. I do want to see there be bleed-through effects so that the humans pick up more of their friend's instinctive behaviors and the animals gain more human perspectives, but I'm so so picky about how it's handled. Love how Tamora Pierce did it with Daine in the Immortals quartet. A Companion to Wolves by Elizabeth Bear came close but then really lost me at the end, but I love how I've seen fandoms use the setting as an AU. Oh, you know what. It's like a hyper-specific somewhat more violent daemons AU. I'm looking for something like His Dark Materials, but with more cool fight scenes and less religious undercurrents. All recommendations welcome!

What’re your favorite kh ships?
If I'm being honest... I really only true ship SoKai these days (my forever OTP). Mainly because I feel like that's the only one I can really ever see actually being canon (well, aside from Yozora and Nameless Star, and I also ship them: a lot of that for Versus XIII reasons. My heart won't let go). And, I mean, not that a ship needs to be canon for me to ship them. Not at all. But I'll admit that I've grown out of some of the KH ships a wee bit, as I've found more adult ones in other fandoms to get invested one.
That being said, the KH ships that I do still care about are:

VenAqua slightly, but I'd always choose Terra and Aqua over it (but one thing about the Wayfinder Trio for me, if I'm being truthful, is that I prefer the three of them as friends before any romance with any of them. Part of me even really thinks all three of them are truly just meant to be friends.)
A lot of people ship Ven and Strelitzia for some reason. And I doubt it'll ever happen, tbh. Who knows if they'll ever even really get a chance to meet and be friends. But I do get why they think it'd be cute.
And while I don't know if I truly ship them anymore, a part of me will always have a soft spot for Ventus and Naminé. Because for some reason, I really used to ship this crack pairing, back in the day.
I also don't really know if I ship them... but despite what I said above, I do get the feeling that Nomura might be doing something with Lauriam/Marluxia and Elrena/Larxene.

#it belongs to my classmates father! she let me borrow it for today!#i got to look into it a little at school and got to page 51 out of excitement - its really well phrased and teaches well!#i already knew most of the concepts covered so far but i /did/ gain some new vocabulary knowledge‚ which is great#it's fascinating! i wonder how far i'll get into it in just one day. probably pretty far#im quite surprised myself as to how much this is exciting me‚ but i can't help it... the similarities are very fascinating#i've also found that it clicks much better into my mind when im learning italian through turkish! unlike duolingo‚ which teaches it in -#- english.#of course‚ sentence structure difference between turkish and italian does make it a tiny bit challenging when forming an italian sentence#(as i confuse the word order‚ especially when going beyond a simple subject-verb-object sentence)#but otherwise it's fascinating how i understand much better through turkish!#im very excited to read through it as far as i can.#i'll have to give it back tomorrow - tragedy‚ really.#i'll find a pdf of it though‚ its fine#🌙rambling#side note // her father's notes all the way back from 2002 are still in this and it's so endearing.#hi sir i don't know you. your handwriting is really small. thank you#by god i will take care of this book like my life depends on it to make sure nothing happens to it. this book contains so much#it has 551 pages worth of material by the way

got the weakest ankles in the west
#tiny talking#nit acrually but fyck man ow#so ive broken tgis ankle twice. once when really young then again in 2nd grade#and then ive rolled a sprained it quite a bit#and i just noe did it again#i was walking in like stones a little above the ground framing in flower areas yknow#and went to like side step off and obto the ground#and fucking crumpled#i tgought i was fine and just need a minute#and went and limped a little then it hurt and i could not#so i got my brother out and he got me the crutches we keep and i cant move my ankle apmsot any way#and its so fucking swollen#i m8ght go get it checked iut tomorrow but hm#i have ice on it now and my leg is so tired form keeping itself up so my ankle doesnt change direction#like at all#oh yeah and i havent eaten all day and was gonna make food after i came back f9rm inside#and now it gurts to stand and i cant walk#:)

So literally a full week ago HR emailed me double-checking something that was in one of my references, I emailed them back within the hour clarifying literally everything they wanted to know, and I haven’t heard from them since. Normal behaviour
#i got offered this job in fucking JULY mind you. and i still haven’t started working there#HR is just sitting on i don’t even know how many of my details and has drawn this out for such a ridiculously long time. i don’t understand#at what point do i email them back like ‘hey any updates?’ i’ve literally already had to push them for updates like twice already lol#they just do not communicate with me. there’s like 4 people using one email address and presumably one braincell as well#i am just like.. i filled in six forms; completed six pieces of online training; you’ve gotten three references which i know damn well#were more than ‘satisfactory’ because i didn’t give you the contact details of the one person who Would’ve given me a bad reference#you’ve got virtually every piece of information about me that there is. you could sequence my dna at this point#WHAT THE FUCK IS THE HOLDUP#it has been 84 years#and i am so sick of people asking me if i have a start date yet or i’ve heard everything from work etc etc. stop asking. the answer is no#next person who asks me that question i’m straight up going to ask them for money. it’s SO annoying#like at this point just assume the answer is no. like why after all these weeks would i suddenly hear something and then not immediately#tell everyone. the answer is that i wouldn’t#i’m just so annoyed. by everything. in a way getting sick has been a good thing because it’s meant less people have been able to ask me#annoying questions & i’ve had an excuse to hide from everybody. i’m nearly better now though#i don’t know what the moral of this post is. i just don’t understand why a simple recruitment process has taken this long#i’d given them every single piece of information they wanted to know by the 9th of august and they’re STILL dragging this out. for why#like if you’re going to reject me over a tiny error on my application that has now been CORRECTED… at least let me know so i can apply#for another fucking job#they don’t know i’m still living on my bursary! i could be completely broke and relying on this job and they’re just withholding/delaying#my salary for no reason lol. i hate them all#and i thought my boss might have called me back but no. i am literally being ghosted by people who wanted ME to work for THEM#like… YOU called ME. YOU asked ME to come in for an interview. YOU offered ME a job. WHERE IS MY JOB#if you’re reading this don’t go into teaching it’s the absolute fucking worst#if this falls through i’m defecting to retail#personal#rant
