haven't been on tumblr for years, haven't seen a point, haven't seen a point to much in a very long time, but there is something about the noises of being more inner city, hearing the rattle of the trams and the dinging of their bells, the general city noises.....that seem to kind of settle me. Even in this room with no window but only a mere non transparent skylight that lets in natural light but no sign of the outside world, making it feel kind of like a prison in a way and yet peaceful in another...when rain hits it it sounds like rain hitting a tin roof almost.....but this almost prison cell like room, the city noises I can hear but not see unless I sit out the front of the house, the little terrace only good for a washing line and the hot water heater, topped the barbed wire and rusting hastily bolted together sheets of corrugated iron as a fence, games like andy and leyley, class of 09, other stuff like that, this disconnect from the world around me grows, I shut myself out from the world a long time ago and yet I feel an ache for what could have been, the trajectory life could have taken, but now, now I think I am at peace with the disconnect, at peace with something that is simply existing until one day....I don't, gone without a trace, remembered by no one, forgotten by all, dust in the wind.....final absolute peace

Alien guy who's always on about his wife being an emotionless life sucking parasite and like "you know how it is with the females" so you think he's just an asshole until you find out more about his species and he meant it as affectionately as he did literally

EVERYONE HUSH AND THINK ABOUT TEch rushing off the Marauder after a mission but not because there's anything wrong he just found the prettiest rock and wanted to tell Phee all about it
And she takes it and they talk about the rock for hours and Tech(begrudgingly) let's her keep it because he liked the way she smiled at it more than the research he could do with it
And Phee turns it into a necklace for them. Two of them, matching. Techs never seen without it.

Unwell about the idea of Orin using Durge's face to keep the charade going of the Durge still being around, so Gortash doesn't get suspicious.
He does anyway because she didn't understand how real their relationship was - and she slips up. Often. He knew immediately when the Dark Urge became so, so very cold. Nothing like the warmth he has known for years now behind closed doors; because it isn't them.
She is good at fine details of the body; she gets every scar, every little blemish perfectly, but she can never truly imitate the person behind the Urge.
She couldn't have hoped to anyway, because she didn't know who they really were. Only Gortash could, because he is the first to ask.
It surprises her, and infuriates her, even! The mighty Dark Urge, debased into some lovesick puppy yearning after this little Lordling!
And the mistakes that follow are how Gortash learns the Dark Urge is gone.

penny for your thoughts?
we talk about lily’s characterization as the “perfect” wife/daughter/mother but i think it might be more worthwhile to accept & interrogate this aspect of canon than to flatten her in the opposite direction in pursuit of making her unpalatable
i think we’ve all been idealized by someone else at some point and then hurt when knocked off that pedestal. lily is interesting to me because her entire life has been that experience, from every direction. it’s difficult & emotionally resonant when you realize someone sees you as more of an idea than a person because you want to go “i’m just a regular girl!!” but what gets me about lily is that like…. she isn’t.
i think she’s been treated like this her entire life (“please, i’m just a regular girl”) and then one day she discovers she’s Actually Magic. and she’s not just magic, but she’s The Brightest Witch Of Her Age. and she’s not just that, but capable of turning her son into a messiah just out of some nebulous inherent quality of her love? lily’s experience is unique because it’s like her life itself is the one trying to shove her on that pedestal, and the other characters reactions to her are just symptomatic
it’s this^ but i prefer the idea of a character fighting to be a person when it’s the narrative itself stopping her. i don’t think lily knows what being a regular girl looks like no matter how convinced she is. she’s doing her best approximation of one. and i think this makes her a sort of aberration

My sister and I have been feeding the crows that chill on our front yard trees and it's gotten to the point now where when they see us get home and out of our car they start cawing non stop until we leave them a little pile of peanuts

Thinking a lot about the final shot of Roier in Bobby Fields, the place Jaiden made so that the happiest day her, Roier, and Bobby spent as a family “never” has to end, completely alone in the dark rain and looking completely miserable…

i saw this tiktok the other day that really annoyed me. they claimed that what they "liked" about tav was that all the companions felt like main characters, but tav had total side character / npc energy. and it's just like... no? that sounds like a personal problem?? and then i went into the comments to see that everyone was like GOD SAME TAV FEELS LIKE A TOTAL NPC.
and i'm like!! you made them!!!!! you did that!!!!! their story is in your hands, so you made them an npc!!!! tav is what you want them to be!!! that's the point of an rpg!!!!!
