Make sure to do this in a place where dropping the kettlebell won't cause damage to anything. EXERCISE#2 KETTLEBEL DEADLIFT: Incorporating deadlifts one or two days a week into a weight training session will develop strength in the hamstrings, glutes, low back, and upper back.” They also rely on core strength to stabilize your body throughout the lift, which means you'll be working your abs on top of everything else. EXERCISE#3 DUMBBELL POWER CLEANS: The Power Clean engages all the major muscles in the body working together, from the calves all the way up to the traps—in much the same way you need to on the football field. That takes coordination. The Power Clean also strengthens the posterior chain, which includes the back muscles, glutes, hamstrings, and calves. EXERCISE#4 DUMBBELL LATERAL RAISE BENT ROW: Bent-Over Lateral Raise Muscles Worked Bent-Over Lateral Raises work the posterior deltoid, which the part of the deltoid that's on the backside of your shoulder. I haven’t worked out in 12 days.. Between dog sitting, road trips, beach days and watching the @australianopen it’s been pretty busy in the Dunne household 😅 Now, for some people, 12 days won’t seem like a big deal. However, when we listen to society, and what feels like almost every personal trainer on the planet says, it’s something like this: “You must exercise 3-4 times a week for at least 45 minutes”. Right? Are we sick and tired of hearing that? Taking 12 days away from exercise would leave a lot of people feeling like they failed. Taking 12 days away from exercise could easily slip into 22 days, 32 days and then before we know it, 365+ days have passed. It happens. The thing is, when we know better, we do better. I know that my body has wanted and needed this time to rest. I know that the extra sleep in the morning has been more helpful than the workout. I know that my hands have loved the break from tight grips. My knees have enjoyed the gap between being loaded. My hamstrings are here for the pause in heavy deadlifts. I know better. I know my why. I know what my body needs and I know when it needs it. What I’m urging you to do is to try your best to find this. To screw what your old trainer or the front of the magazine cover is telling you. Wanna take 12 days away from lifting heavy sh*t to do life? You do you boo. Wanna spend the month of Feb exercising every single day? Wanna try something new instead of the same old workout routines? Go 👏🏼 for 👏🏼 it 👏🏼. Trust yourself. Find what works and don’t let anybody take that away from you. I’m excited to get back to movement next month and isn’t that a better feeling?
