Your Neo Three and big buddy are pretty cool, what's their story? I haven't seen much info on them besides their character sheet...

Fantastic question!!! And one I would love to answer!

Neo and Big Buddy met in a fateful dark alley within the bustling city of Splatsville. Big Buddy (then Little Buddy) had snuck into the city after being left behind by his school, and took pity on Neo.

Neo was seven when they ran away to splatsville. She was in the search for a lost sibling but went on the wrong train. Now lost and without his family, they found desperate family in the salmonid.

Despite his original intentions to 'return the stray to its home' He ended up raising her. Evolving faster and faster at a rate unseen by usual salmonids to keep up with Neo and slowly becoming an older brother.

Neo grew to forget their past and original purpose coming to the splatlands and now believes she belonged in the splatlands all along- and grew to also heavily depend on Big Buddy. He couldn't even imagine what a future without their only family would be.

This carries on into Neo's teenagehood aka when Splatoon 3 takes place. Big Buddy is now a full cohock and trying to push a very very stubborn Neo into inkling society.

But Neo, being highly dependent and fearful of what life would be without Big Buddy- refuses to comply to the point of ironically running away.

Neo ended up slipping down into the hero mode cause of this and was found later by Big Buddy in Alterna. Neo found the adventure fun and tolerable but Big Buddy's hopes was that their interactions with the NSS would blossom into Neo seeing them as a new family because... well...

Big Buddy is slowly... dying. It happens to salmon eventually. He's afraid his life will end with a meaningless death and Neo refuses to acknowledge the truth. Denial potent. But Big Buddy's mission is to not leave Neo behind and Alone, so his determination to get Neo in the care of the NSS is a whole thing.

It's when he figures out that Neo is San (Captain 3)'s long lost half-sibling that his request becomes more personal.

However, Neo finds out, and is emotional. She doesn't want Big Buddy to leave and doesn't want to lose their only family. But it'll happen no matter what.

Neo is emotionally wrecked but Big Buddy grows weaker every day in Alterna and so, they all push forward against Grizz's plans...

...the rocket flies outwards, and Big Buddy won't let Neo go up there alone. And surrounded by space and departing from the earth where he planned to give his nutrients back to- Big Buddy says fuck it. To protect Neo. The stress and the dying and the love and the desire to protect Neo and the world they love-

Big Buddy evolves into Huge Fry.

And when the battle is over, he disappears for forever, passing on into the light. Sending Neo home safely, and becoming one with the stars.

Neo grows to become more independent of themself- finding family being a whole thing- and like- always continuing to grow more and more for yourself- that sorta thing.

Never forgetting Big Buddy and what he did for them and how much he worked to make sure Neo had a good future- Neo makes sure not to waste it.

After the huge mission in Texas and after some health checkups from the 141 members everyone went to the local bar near the base in the tiny town. Holding hands with your boyfriend Gaz you were happy he didn’t got hit by any stray bullets or ironically fell out of a helicopter,that already happened once you don’t need that adrenaline shock again. Walking to your usual place directly at the bar as you sat down and as Gaz sat down besides you putting his interlocked hands on the bar counter and smiles lovingly at you with his beautiful toothy smile.

Sending a loving smile his way as well as you order your local cocktail/beverage of your liking. Speaking a bit about the mission as you didn’t went on it as you got transferred from different task force 9 months ago so you still were in your rookie position but that would definitely change someday as Price already told you he appreciates your hawk like eyes on the battlefield. As Ghost dropped that Soap almost fell over his own feet after he heard a loud thumbing in the hallway all of them including you started laughing.

As the local band came as they started playing some cool music as you turned around in your chair and sipped on your drink looking around the bar it was a bit more full this time,maybe it got more popular over the 2 months you didn’t went here. Well they definitely have delicious cocktails it’s time they got some credit for that,tasting the soft lemon soda mixed with the vodka and fresh strawberries was just a perfect highlight for this evening.

After sometime some little groups mixed together Soap and Gaz were speaking and Ghost and Price we’re talking as well you didn’t felt like speaking as you enjoyed the music and the drinks a bit more. Gaz and Soap were standing. Gaz was leaning against the deep wood bar as he was holding his beer in his hand as he spoke to Soap,god how you loved that man. How could he be so sexy with just simply standing ugh.

Well you definitely weren’t the only one thinking that your man was smoking hot. Around 9pm a woman group came in they were damn loud probably some girls from the college or something but they just got on your nerves with their loud laughs and these laughs were fake as hell. Especially the girl with the fake blond hair she was starring no practically taking Gaz’s clothes off with her eyes.

You hated that so much your blood started boiling but also your insecurities called themselves in. She was definitely 2-3 years younger than you and even though she looked like she got hit in the face with a clown makeup,she still looked better than you. Well you thought that. You were wearing your normal military uniform with you hair up in a sleek bun,no makeup because that mostly distracted you when you were working.

How she talked with Gaz was just making you want to cry right on the spot. Caressing his arm with her hands that were clawed with cheap press on’s that you just needed to blink at and they could chip of her nails in milliseconds. Twirling her blond hair with her point finger while disgustingly chewing a bubblegum.

Turning your back to them as you just rubbed through your face as you sighed and rubbed your temples but did you know Gaz was as annoyed from the girl as much as you. Soap already was gone he had enough of her fake high pitched voice.

Gaz just sighed as he smiles politely at the girl “Sorry but I’m not interested you are not my type. And I’m happily taken by my beautiful woman Y/n.” his voice left no doubt that he meant it. The Blondie scoffed and just walked back to her girls as Gaz just rolled his eyes but he saw how you just started into your empty glass looking at the ice melting inside as he sighed as walked over to you.

Softly putting his glass down as he softly kisses your temple and whispered softly “hey gorgeous,got a boyfriend?” softly giggling at his joke as you met his beautiful brown eyes and nodded as he pouted “ah okay well I hope he is handsome at least.” You laughed softly and nodded again “very handsome.”

Softly he wraps his arms around your waist as he softly kisses your forehead as you just sighed and leaned against his strong chest. Wrapping your own arms around his body. “You are the kind of woman I always wanted,it will only be you for the rest of my life, understood?” As he softly kisses your lips. “Only you.”

Noragami Chapter 109 Thoughts and Reaction

First off a massive thank you to @fast-moon for years of dedicated service to the fandom and answering our questions. You have been the pillar of the community from the moment you picked up the series.

Now onto my (second) read reaction and thoughts

Seeing Yuka and she's aged more and she's looking at the sakura tree thinking of her brother just like Yato told Yukine she would I'm so sad Adachitoka you make me so sad

WHO LEFT THE FLOWERS could it have been Yato? Could it have been Yuka unwittingly placing them to remember her brother not knowing it's actually Haruki's grave? I'm so sad

Oh when it said another new year and we're at the hospital I'm so sad and then it turns out it's been many years!!!!!

The Capyper and star sticker as an earring? Remnants of attachment to Yato? Earring like Kazuma? Thank you Doctor Iki? Killing myself

Oh I really expected her diary to show up and then it does but Nora has it I'm so sad

The fact Hiyori's whole memory of that year is fuzzy so she doesn't remember Capyperland, and probably her grandma's death and the hospital arc and so many other bits

Headcanon A: realistic

part of the reason he keeps his hair longer later is that he has a pretty significant burn scar on the back of his neck after the explosion he's caught in late in robin '93. he's not too self-conscious about it or anything, but he hates when people stare or ask about it.

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

when he was going through his dad's stuff after his death, he found a box of his own baby teeth that his parents apparently just... kept. which he had feelings about for sure, but also like... he didn't really want to keep a little box of his own teeth. that feels weird. but also throwing them away when they clearly had significant value to his parents feels BAD.

solution: he makes sure the box is clearly labeled (there's a tiny paper that says "tim's baby teeth <3" in his mom's handwriting in the lid; he goes over it with sharpie because it's kind of faded) and then just leaves it in a drawer in dick's apartment. dick you want these right? for emotional attachment or whatever? yeah cool.

dick finds them like two weeks after tim just places them there and goes hm. considers calling tim like hey why is there a box of your teeth in the drawer under my tv? but then he's like eh you know what, my life is weird enough. this may as well happen. so he just leaves them there and forgets about them again. tim considers this a job well done.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

he has a boatload of internalized homophobia to work through before he can even admit to himself that he's bi, thanks in large part to jack drake. he's also trans, and jack's acceptance of that hinged on tim being able to play the part of the classic ~all-star american boy~ so well. as a result, after jack is dead, tim has a lot of issues allowing himself to stray from what he knows his dad would've wanted him to be. it's not a simple easy said-and-done journey. it takes him years; he's the last one of core four to come out.

he also doesn't just like. tell people. his sexuality and his relationships are on a need-to-know basis. he's a very private person he's not going like oh i'm queer? i need to inform everyone i know. it's like... partly because he is just a private person, but also because it takes him a looong time to work through the shame around his sexuality that his dad left behind.

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

he and zoanne are still friends. or they reconnect when tim eventually goes to college to get an engineering degree. specifically i think he just goes "well i'm great at tinkering and shit so how hard can this be?" and then once again has to struggle with juggling vigilanteism and having a normal life and doing homework. and zoanne is there going jeez your eyebags!!! are you good?? and tim's like no i want to sleep for a week :( why did charaxes show up last night when i have an 8:30 am lecture on tues/thurs >:( except he can't say that because secret identities. the point being tim gets to continue exploring his Themes and Issues re: identities and ALSO zoanne wilkins is there.

Lola if you had to write and direct an episode of 911ls, what would you put in it?

Okay, friend. I've thought LONG AND HARD. and I come to you with this totally unhinged response. I'm also tagging @beautifulhigh because she asked me a similar question 💜

This would be a tripartite episode. I know LS always has a theme, but I've got absolutely no theme going on. Something about being cute, maybe. This episode is like the Lou one - fluffy filler because you KNOW Lone Star is a comedy.

Arc 1: The episode starts with the 126 getting called to a rescue in suburbia. The call is placed by a young girl, saying someone is stuck and they need help. EMS and fire rock up only to discover the "person" is a cat and the cat is stuck in a tree. Classic fire fighting story made funny. Marjan rescues the cat and brings it down from the tree, and hands it to TK while she brushes all the tree shit off her gear. TK (obviously) immediately falls in love with it. When he tries to give it to the little girl she looks at him confusedly and tells her it's not her cat - there's been a mix up and this cat LOOKS like her cat but is not her cat. For comedic effect, a similar cat strolls out of the little girls house at that very moment.

CUT TO BACK AT THE FIREHOUSE

Arc 2: They're all joking about the cat rescue over one of Paul's tasty lunches but TK is deep in thought - unsurprisingly, he can't stop thinking about the stray cat (it is now in a rescue). At lunch, Paul and Mateo get texts telling them they've been selected to appear in a hottest firefighters calendar. Paul is kinda ??? about it, Marjan is offended they didn't ask her even though she doesn't want to be in it and Mateo is wondering if he gets to be oiled up like a wrestler. Owen is understandably HIGHLY UPSET ABOUT THIS. specifically because he did not get asked. Judd is smirking at him.

(I think I would put in a scene where Owen grills TK about whether his skincare regime is no longer working and whether he's "past his prime" - TK is still thinking about the cat and has no time for this).

(I would also put in a scene where Owen goes to dinner at his best friend Judd's house and Grace and Judd die on the inside over how much Owen cares about not being asked to be in the calendar).

Arc 3: The 126 get a call out to a fire at a modelling agency. They're currently casting for a very high profile client, and suspect arson by a disgruntled rejected candidate who is still in the building. For reasons which I haven't come up with, it is determined that the culprit has to be one of the current set of rejected candidates. Carlos rocks up to interview the suspects as the 126 get the minor blaze under control and treat people for smoke inhalation. Paul is sent to help Carlos for the SPECIFIC PURPOSE OF HAVING INVESTIGATOR PAUL AND CARLOS TEAM UP. They're trying very hard to solve the mystery but unfortunately the models keep hitting on them, much to their dismay. Even though they're in the middle of a disaster, the head of the agency is asking Carlos to come in for a test shoot. Carlos is finding it very hard to do his job because TK keeps talking about a cat.

Eventually Paul and Carlos solve the mystery, apprehend the suspect and manage to escape with their wits intact. Paul decides to turn down the calendar offer based on this experience, unbeknownst to Owen. On the ride back to the station, Owen gets a text offering him a spot on the calendar and he is over the moon.

We end back at the Tarloft. TK is late coming home from work and Carlos assumes he has gone to a meeting. WRONG. TK walks in with the cat and begs on his hands and knees to keep it.

Carlos is immediately endeared. Lou II is disgruntled but TK insists they will learn to get along. The cat falls asleep in Carlos' lap on the sofa which TK is obsessed with, there's a cute scene of them being a cat family (maybe some cute kisses in there) and a light roasting of Carlos by TK for the modelling thing. At the end of the episode, Carlos puts the cat gently down on the end of the sofa and carries TK to bed because we deserve that.

He came from a fairly rich family. Not super rich, but rich enough to own a big house. It was mainly his relatives and his dad that had the money, while his mom was simply an indie writer

His parents threw money at him sometimes, and once he'd met Tony it'd gone straight to him a number of times

Was homeless for a few months, living on the streets and spending many nights at Cassie's. Eventually he started staying at the Pizzaplex. His memories of where and when are muddled.

Sees Vanessa as an older sister figure, Cassie a younger sister, and Freddy as parental (but don't tell any of them that)

One of his front teeth is missing because it was knocked it out while someone fought him back as Dr. Rabbit.

Lesbian

Loved cooking, reading and gaming before the Glitchtrap stuff happened. She's slowly gotten back into it after taking Gregory in, but doesn't play games very often anymore unless it's with him.

She's really awkward with people she doesn't know very well. And, despite trying her best, she often ends up freaking people out with some insanely obscure dark fact she knows, usually about Fazbear Entertainment's past.

Remembers everything from when she was Vanny, but it is slightly fuzzy

She pushed away all her friends and family when she was Vanny, and has yet to reconnect out of worry of something going wrong and them ending up hurt. She has considered sending Gregory to be with them in the past.

Her grandmother passed not long before she was Vanny, and the two were particularly close. She'd taken the house and had not been able to live in it until she was freed.

She used to be louder, but now she tends to be quiet and reserved. Some of her old personality shines through when she's with Gregory, when she teases him like an older sibling would

She's paranoid and overthinks things. She's scared Fazbear Entertainment will come knocking for Freddy, or that the Mimic will find out where they are through the internet, or a variety of irrational fears

Has a large scar on her waist from stray machinery in the sinkhole

Hasn't told Gregory about what the Mimic truly is, nor what it did to him, hoping to protect him.

Since Gregory can't remember much of his life from before, Vanessa promises she'll help him remember-- but she's grateful for some of the things he doesn't.

Freddy Fazbear

He charges overnight in the basement with a contraption Gregory came up with using an old car battery. The battery lasts 12 hours before needing a recharge.

He has been accidentally left in a room alone by Gregory and Vanessa before, who forget sometimes that he's just a head now

On occasion the trio go on picnics to quiet places where they can be alone, and on these occasions Freddy gets to see the world– he's very excited about seeing new things outside of the plex!

He can now connect to the internet, and was able to download all of the Pizzaplex's blueprints this way. He can also now be used as a projector.

Since his Faz-wrench port was on his body, Gregory fitted a USB port to Freddy's head; it's janky, but it works long enough to transfer a few files.

Gregory has asked about Bonnie, although Freddy doesn't talk about him much. He mostly fondly recalls memories before getting upset and not wanting to speak more.

He's often the one to stop the sibling-ish arguments between Vanessa and Gregory

He doesn't know it, but Gregory's been researching how to build small animatronics for a few months so he can build Freddy a new body as a surprise. He… Hasn't gotten very far, yet

He still sings on occasion, but finds it brings him memories of his friends, which (similarly to Bonnie) he doesn't like to think about too much.

He feels incredibly guilty for what happened to all of his friends. He doesn't blame Gregory in the slightest, but does wish he'd taken a different approach.

While Gregory was homeless and visiting her, on the colder days, she'd let him in for movies and hot cocoa and they'd make a blanket fort. Sometimes Gregory would spend these nights falling asleep on Cassie, watching her play animal crossing or stardew valley

She won both the Roxy and Freddy talky for her and Gregory at the Pizzaplex during her birthday. Gregory would sometimes come within range while she was at home just to walkie something incredibly stupid or annoying, before getting out of range too fast for Cassie's complaints to be heard

She hates sodaroni and feels nauseous every time Gregory drinks it right in front of her like it's nothing.

SHIPPER TAG GAME

Tagged by @lurkingshan and @stuffnonsenseandotherthings to dig into the vault. Friends, I have been Perpetually Online since 1995, when that meant I had to haunt my school library computer at lunchtime, so this is going to be for the fellow Olds. Sorry in advance for the HP mentions.

1. What ship were you completely obsessed with when you were a teenager, but now you don't care anymore?

Have I let any ships go? Hmm. I'll go with Mulder/Scully from X-Files. Watching now, they should definitely not end up together lol

2. Which ship would you consider your first one?

Sailor Mercury/Sailor Jupiter from Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon. I. Was. Obsessed. This ship hit me like a ton of bricks in I want to say 6th or 7th grade.

I watched the show as it aired with English dubs, found out the episodes we got were censored, immediately fell into my completionist ways, went to the Asian mall (it was literally pan-Asian with stuff from Japan, China, Taiwain, Korea, etc.) and got definitely not official VCDs with Mandarin subtitles, and would sit with friends who spoke Mandarin and had them translate the subs to English for me (I say this like I forced them, but they offered because they were my friends and they also felt passionately about people seeing the uncensored show). I then learned how to Internet and would trawl for fanpages of the manga (it would take 20 minutes to load an image at the time, so rather than full scanlations I'd get walls of text describing what happened with maybe a single panel illustration). Uranus and Neptune were fantastic, but I already had Ami and Makoto aka Mercury and Jupiter long before I got to the Uranus/Neptune episodes (or the Sailor Stars manga arc).

3. Your first fanfic belonged to which couple?

Definitely Sailor Moon fanfic was the first fic I read. It was an easy step from finding fan summaries of the chapters not yet out in English > finding fan sites with fanfic on them, back before we had archives or even decent search engines and you had to just find the sites you needed through links from other sites. It was like a whole new world of possibilities opening up. The first real fanfic community I was in was Harry Potter.

In terms of first fic I wrote, I am not a writer; I've only ever written a small handful of not worth mentioning ficlets featuring the Kirk/Spock ship (Star Trek TOS).

4. Do you remember the first couple you saw a fanart over?

Oh it was likely Serena/Tuxedo Mask from Sailor Moon and it was in person, because I had friends who got me into anime and manga early and they were artists who drew a lot of fanart.

5. Did you ever get into ship discourse?

Friends, I had a Livejournal. It was impossible not to get into ship discourse.

6. Did you used to have any no-otp or have it currently?

I am going to echo @stuffnonsenseandotherthings and @lurkingshan and say I was dead-set against Hermione as a ship with any of the men in Harry Potter (Hermione/Luna or Hermione/Ginny, though, we could talk), and I also really disliked Draco/Ron. I also am not here for Spock/McCoy (Star Trek), and I don't really enjoy Stucky (as in Captain America/Winter Soldier or Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes from Marvel).

OH and can I be a hater on main for a second? The first couple that I remember hating as a thing was probably Jo and Professor Bhaer from Little Women; I was SO MAD they married in the end. I felt very validated years later when I read that the author Lousia May Alcott was forced by her publisher to marry Jo off and made up the couple out of spite.

7. Who were the couple in the last fanfic you read?

The last fic I read was a Word of Honour modern AU pairing Wen Ke Xing/Zhou Zishu in which they rescued stray kittens.

SInce I started this, I've also read a One Piece Luffy/Zoro fic (and that's not even my favourite ship--I've been a Zoro/Sanji girlie since the early 2000s! I'm weak for banter.)

8. Currently, do you have any OTPs?

I have so many. SO many. Truly. I don't even know where to start with this question! I follow several AO3 tags and fanfic writers that I get regular fic updates from. Most of my OTPs are either canon (from queer/BL/GL media) or the most popular ship (I feel very lucky that my taste is so basic). There is no one couple I love the most. Just going to throw a dart at the board: From BL, the one I come back to a lot is Hira/Kiyoi in Utsukushii Kare, because their dynamic is so intense.

9. Is there any couple that, to this day, you are extremely mad about not getting together?

Hmm. That's what fandom is for, so not really? I usually get more annoyed when people do get together that I wish had stayed platonic (never forgiving Pacific Rim for that kiss, it was so unnecessary). And I'm extremely mad about censorship, i.e. couples that DID get together but we didn't get to see it for whatever reason (see e.g. Uranus and Neptune from Sailor Moon Sailor Stars; Chinese danmei novel live-action adaptations). Otherwise there are lots of these but I just read the fanfic and recover. I'll say I'm still annoyed Buffy didn't get to have with Faith what she had with Spike though. Their chemistry was off the charts.

10. Is there any ship you used to dislike but now you think they are kind of interesting?

This is such a hard question. I came around a little on Lan Xichen/Jiang Cheng from MDZS/the Untamed, though it's still not my fave (it's a soft no not a hard no). I'll also give you an oldie: Andie McPhee and Pacey from Dawson's Creek. I hated Andie's character back in the day but now I like her character but really dislike how she was used in the show, which isn't the same thing. And I actually really liked how she and Pacey worked together.

I'll also give you a BL one: Kurosawa and Haruta in Ossan's Love. Ossan's Love s1 & 3 it was clear they were not OTP so that's a bit irrelevant anyway, but it's much less clear in s2 (the AU season) and the first time I watched it I wasn't sure how I felt about the way that season ended as much as I loved the season as a whole. I like it more every time I rewatch.

11. Do you have any ship that, in the past, was considered normal but now you would be cancelled over?

LOL I am with everyone else on the Brian/Justin train but since that's been said twice I'll go with something else. I was a big Harry/Draco shipper back in the day, which would now probably get me cancelled for shipping someone with his bully (though a significant part of the fun of that ship was about how Draco was such an ineffectual bully...but I digress), in addition to of course how the author's transphobia ruined the whole thing for all of us (fanfic doesn't make her any money, so I don't have a problem continuing to read it in theory, but it's left a sour note over my experience and makes any engagement in that fandom less fun).

12. What was your favorite crack ship?

I was one of those foolish people obsessed with Hawkeye/Coulson before we'd even seen them face-to-face or knew almost anything about MCU Clint Barton. I still read fanfic of that ship even though it's been fully jossed and makes no sense at all anymore. Ok one more, I really love the very small Breakfast Club fandom shipping Brian/John and Claire/Allison. I've read the few fics on AO3 for the queer pair ghost ships in that show multiple times.

13. Who is the couple you read more fanfics of?

Of all time, I've probably read the most Kirk/Spock fanfic. But that's due to the length of time I've been into the ship, the amount of time it's existed, and its popularity. I still read Kirk/Spock regularly.

14. What most of your ships usually have in common?

Honestly most can be boiled down to grumpy/sunshine pairs in which both are very competent in specific ways and both are hiding crippling self esteem issues behind their grumpy or sunshine-ness, and have strong but differing moral codes that they each respect in one another (and is usually where the feelings start). Banter is a must. I am admittedly also here for height difference in my ships. Double-plus bonus for terrible communicators who learn to understand one another's particular communication quirks.

Perfect encapsulation of this dynamic is Danny/Steve from Hawaii Five-0 (listen that show was copaganda trash but the fanfic was fun as hell).

15. What do you absolutely hate in a ship?

Power dynamics that remain unaddressed as part of the story. Hate to love that isn't earned over time. When the relationship makes each other worse rather than better. When they never learn to trust one another. When one of them is in it as part of a savior complex and that doesn't get challenged or worked through. When only one of them has a personality. There's very little that I'd say is a hard no in terms of dynamics or setup for me, but it has to be handled well, and sometimes I don't have the energy to give something the benefit of the doubt.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Chronologically: Star Trek Voyager, Warehouse 13, Person of Interest, The Expanse. There's also a stray Star Trek TNG from almost 13 years ago, and let's not speak of the Strangers with Candy fic.

(Also I wrote some House fic back in the day, but I never put it on AO3. Why did I put the SWC but not the House fic on AO3, you ask? No idea. It made sense at the time. The SWC is there because of my adherence to the 'archive' part of AO3's name, but locked to logged-in users because it's not my brand anymore, hah.)

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

'Metadata' (TNG) and 'Overheard' (POI) are the runaway leads, with about twice the kudos of number three. Then there's 'Catalysis' (WH13), 'Freud can take his cigar and go fuck himself' (POI), and 'An Offer That Possibly Should Be Refused, But Really Who Could?' (ST:VOY)

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Always! That's how you get your grubby little hands on people who are as unhinged about the thing as you are.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

There's really only three angsty-ish fics in my history. 'Existentialism is a Bitch' for POI, where Root took over the Machine when she died, which I'd say is more bittersweet than angsty. There's also the Warehouse 13 one where HG stayed dead after S3 and Myka's grief created an artifact, which I'd say takes the angsty cake for sure.

(The third is one of the aforementioned Strangers With Candy fics we won't talk about.)

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Other than the above, none of them are exactly *sad*. So I guess if we're going with, like, the romance novel sort of idea of a happy ending, I'd say 'One Foot in Sea, One on Shore' because of the happily-ever-after suggestion of the last scene.

8. Do you get hate on fic?

Don't think I ever have, nope.

9. Do you write smut?

lololololololol that's almost all I write. That's how they all have happy endings asdlkasjdfjasfdk

10. Do you write crossovers?

Not unless the POI Fifth Element AU counts.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I have a vague memory of finding one on Wattpad, but that might've been a friend's that I found when I went looking.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I've had several of my POI fics translated into Mandarin! I'm also gonna count the handful of podfics people have done, which is always very exciting. The WH13 one for 'Aural Sex' was 🔥

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I did some outsourcing work on a porn scene of @asleepinawell's shoot vampire au. Very spicy, and it accidentally tied neatly into the overall theme of the fic. Same brain!

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

Can anybody really answer this??? We're all affected by recency bias. I mean, I had major shoot brainrot for six years, but my two years of bobbiechrisjen brainrot has already resulted in more written words than I wrote for shoot, so what is the truth???

...That said, I do think it's one of those two. Bering and Wells gives me SO many feelings, but they're less personally relatable to me than shoot's brand of affection or the milf appreciation of bobbiechrisjen lololol

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but probably won’t?

It's an extreme stretch to call it a WIP, but a few years ago I had a concept for a shoot fic that was kind of a weird mash up of Horizon Zero Dawn, Mad Max Fury Road, Futurama, a text-based video game I played once about nuclear hazard architecture, and weirdly, it was inspired by the Linkin Park album 'A Thousand Suns.' It's one of those things that you can see the shape of really clearly, but ends up being impossible to translate. Unfortunate.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue and porn. I think it's clear looking through my history that I play to my strengths lololol

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Describing things like faces and clothes and rooms people are in, and using adjectives in general. It's because I'm one of those people who absolutely do not see pictures in their mind, so it never occurs to me to write that sort of thing.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

The only time I think I've ever done it is the Divine Language in the Fifth Element AU, which obviously is a fake language. I refused to italicize it because it's annoying and unnecessary and I find it infantilizing when I read it.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

The argument could be made that it was "The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales" back when I was seven or eight. If I had to have known that it was fanfiction that I was writing at the time, then it'd have been one manga or another when I was 14 or 15. Gravitation or Petshop of Horrors, or something of the sort.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Maybe 'The Signal's Just a Roar,' the shoot trucker/radio host au. I love that setting and the excuse to get super nerdy and enjoyed then combining it with canon in the end. 'One Foot in Sea, One on Shore' is a good contender too, if only for the fact I actually managed to write a 169k fic, which is still mind-boggling to me.

For oneshots, it's definitely 'when she wakes me, she takes me back home,' the shoot domesticity fic. I just really love how it turned out.

@my-hyperfixation-hell ask and ye shall receive. Pulling out my receipts for this one bc i needed somewhere to collate my """evidence""" anyway.

My total crack theory in a nutshell: Nanook is Akivili.

Let's start with Kafka, specifically the interrogation scene. She tells us there are 3 ways an Aeon can die: (1) assimilation from overlapping Paths,

(2) they are directly killed by another Aeon,

or (3) oh shit big tree-

As far as I recall, we haven't been directly told what that third method is. But I think we can safely assume it's important. I can't particularly think of any Path that was subsume the Trailblaze (except maybe Harmony, but there's nothing to suggest it), so first method is out. Himeko tells us (when we're asking questions in the parlour car) that she doesn't think Akivili was directly killed by another Aeon, so for now I'm gonna take her word on that (with a grain of salt). Kafka also seems to share a similar sentiment.

But Himeko DOES mention something important: the Primum Mobile. Essentially the idea that each Aeon MUST follow their own Path. It's not said what happens if they don't, or whether it's even possible for them to stray from their Path, but I think if it is, it's an obvious third way for them to die.

Kafka says we are destined to come into conflict with Nanook, in a "struggle of Aeonic proportions". And then she says "even Aeons can be killed." But if you ask if killing an Aeon is their plan, she responds "Ha, are you kidding? That's not what we want. I just want to tell stories from the past: stories about Aeons that have fallen." Hard to tell exactly what to take away from this except maybe the suggestion that killing Nanook is not our goal - conclusion pending.

Alright cool let's go into Simulate Universe and oh shit here's Fuli-

Interestingly, Fuli is providing us (masquerading as Akivili) with the memories of Nanook here. Nanook originates from a planet called Adlivun, which was somehow destroyed. (Now, Akivili's home world is actually referred to as Pegana by Himeko. But my copium here is that planets can undergo name changes or be called different things by the locals.)

I'll be honest this is where the crack theory falls apart a little bit... maybe? We get this text from the loading screen:

The natural assumption here is that Nanook was an Adlivun local who ascended to Aeonhood when his planet was destroyed. However, Fuli's memories appear somewhat non-linear, and both that and the loading text don't provide a concrete timeline.

"You remember that there is a golden scar on your body, and golden blood flowing on the dying planet." implies that this sentence occurs after the ascension of Nanook, but the planet was probably dying before then. "You find yourself dark-skinned and wearing a robe on the wasteland." would come before his ascension.

But there's a potential gap between him being born on the planet and him returning to witness the disaster, during which anything could have happened. For example, joining the Nameless - "you laugh at exploration". The other line here, "you are a swift shadow across the abyss, reaching out to catch the shooting star" could maybe refer to either trying to stop disaster striking, or catch someone falling (but at this point I'm reading into things).

That and now I'm adding in the fact that all of the arguably post-death HCQ members are Destruction characters, which is thematically linking the Destruction Path with experiencing and/or witnessing death.

So at the very least here's my more sensible version of this theory: Nanook was one of the Nameless at some point. Potentially even witnessing or being involved in the death of Akivili, occurring on Adlivun and probably related to whatever caused the planet to fall.

Side tangent: by the way I'm also making the call that Pom-Pom is Akivili/Akivili's heart, and there's actually evidence this time:

Shez had always loved the stars. When he was a kid, he’d look up at them from his mother’s window, awestruck as she listed out names he’d eventually forget as the years went by. As he grew older, he used them to navigate the roads - or at least tried to. When he joined mercenary companies, the stars were companions, sparkling above them as they stayed up laughing and drinking late into the night.

His first thought when he met Ashe was that he was like the stars. The silver of his hair reminded him of the light cast on the earth during a new moon, the only light on the road from the constellations and galaxies far above. The green of his eyes was the same color as new spring grass, washed out by light cast by a full moon, and the way they sparkled were the stars accompanying it.

He’d fallen in love slowly, and then all at once. Ashe was everything Shez could ever dream of, kind and caring but also so, so strong. He watched him with the kids he found in town, and Goddess, he was so good with them. He watched him on the training grounds, forever awestruck at the strong build he hid beneath his bulky knights garb.

Shez was infatuated with the way his eyes lit up as Ashe talked to him about his passions - the knight stories, his family, his dreams for the future that slowly but surely shifted from “his” to “theirs”. He noticed the way he always stopped whenever he saw violets, even if it was just for a second. He loved the way he always wore the flower crowns the kids they came across gave him, how he pushed Felix’s teasing words away and sometimes went as far to put the crowns on the Duke’s head.

He loved the way he always caught Ashe feeding stray cats extra food on his plate, the way he always put a finger to his lips whenever someone caught him doing it, no matter who it was. (He’d never forget the laughter that shook Ashe and His Majesty’s shoulders simultaneously when Ashe had done it to him. He was glad the King was able to appreciate that little joy, and was glad that Ashe was able to provide it to him.)

He loved the mornings he woke up and Ashe was wearing his shirts, far too big on Ashe’s slim frame, giggling as they tussled in Shez’s attempt to get it back. He loved the rare days the two of them could just exist together without having to worry about a battle or a meeting, and could reasonably take a day off of training.

He loved cooking together, getting flour in Ashe’s hair and Ashe getting flour on his nose. He loved sparring in the rain, laughing as they slipped in the mud, knowing that they couldn’t hurt each other. He loved huddling in their tent in the aftermath, stripping out of their soaked and dirty clothes and watching as Ashe tried to steal his clothes.

He always succeeds, whether Shez notices him doing it or not.

His initial plan was to wait until after the war to propose, but he found himself looking at rings every time a jeweler happened to be among the merchants in town. He found himself looking at the decorative daggers on the walls of the blacksmith, found himself staring at the ones adorning Lord Rodrigue and Margrave Gautier’s belts.

He found himself talking to Mercedes one day as the two of them organized some documents side by side. “You know about the various gemstones that typically go into jewelry, right?”

Mercedes gave him a sly, knowing smile before nodding. “I know some of them, yes. My mother and adoptive father have talked about them in the past. What do you want to know?”

“Well,” Shez said, feeling a blush begin to creep onto his cheeks. “What purple stones would you recommend?”

Mercedes leaned back, thinking. “Hmm… Amethyst is probably going to be the easiest to find, especially as we get closer to Enbarr. If you’re willing to wait until after the war, Iolite is often found in Daphnel territory.”

Shez nodded. “And those would go with silver, yes?”

“And diamonds, if you could find them,” she said, a sparkle of mischief in her eyes. “And don’t worry. I won’t tell him.”

Shez looked away from her, feeling his face burn. It wasn’t like they exactly kept their relationship a secret, but for Mercedes to be so certain of what it was?

He supposed it wasn’t entirely surprising, but it was mortifying all the same.

And so he had gone to the next jeweler he found, talking to her quietly with a rough outline of what he wanted it to look like on a piece of parchment, drawn hastily in the dead of night when Ashe was very asleep. She had been happy to help him, telling him that it would likely be ready in approximately two weeks.

He wasn’t sure how much he had paid her. He had no doubt that it was more than she had asked for.

He’d gone to the blacksmith next, ordering the dagger. It was simple, hilt wrapped in purple and blue leather and stamped with violets in silver ink, blade made of sharpened steel. He asked the sheath to have violets made of steel in the same style of the hilt, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly when the blacksmith told him that his special someone was lucky to have him, going so far as to offer a box with a slot for a ring, which Shez had happily paid for

The last part was the hardest.

Ashe didn’t have a living father to ask for his hand, and his older brother had died long before the two had met. He was a knight, though, and so the next logical step was to ask Dimitri for his hand.

Shez spent longer working up the courage to ask Dimitri than he had spent waiting for the ring and dagger to come.

There was only a week and a half before the stormed Enbarr, and Shez was pacing outside the King’s tent, fiddling with the box in his hand. He took a deep breath, closing his eyes and counting to ten before stopping and looking at the flap of the tent.

He pulled it up, spotting Dimitri hunched over his desk, working by candlelight. “Your Majesty?”

Dimitri looked up, startled. He smiled when he saw Shez, though the exhaustion was still prominent in his eyes.

“Shez! What do you need?”

Shez laughed awkwardly, holding the box out to Dimitri. “I know this wouldn’t usually go to you, but it only felt right given the circumstances. You’re the King, and Ashe is one of your Knights, after all. I am here to ask for Ashe’s hand in marriage.” Shez had no doubt in his mind that his face was as red as a tomato, but Ashe was worth the mortification. Ashe would always be worth it.

Dimitri grinned as soon as he processed the words, looking from the box to Shez. “You needn’t have asked,” he said. “I know you’ll treat him right, regardless of where life takes the two of you in the future. Of course you can marry him, Shez.”

Shez laughed, relief flooding him. “Thank you,” he said.

“Of course,” Dimitri said, still smiling. “I’m so happy for you two. If you need anything else-”

“What have we said about taking on too many burdens?” Shez asked, cutting him off. Dimitri laughed sheepishly.

“I suppose you’re right,” Dimitri said. “But regardless, I truly am happy for you both.”

“Thank you, Your Majesty,” Shez said. A weight had been lifted from him, and he felt lighter than he had in years.

It took longer than he had hoped to drag up the courage to propose to Ashe, and he ended up waiting for the last possible second. They would be in Enbarr by noon the next morning, the years of war finally coming to a close one way or another.

Ashe and Shez were sitting on top of a hill, basking in the warmth Enbarr provided, happy in each other’s presence. Shez’s heart was beating fast in his chest, adrenaline coursing through him despite the battle not yet being on the horizon.

The box was tucked away in his pocket. He was surprised he had been able to hide it, but he was happy all the same.

He was lying next to Ashe, who was talking animatedly about the most recent story he’d read. His hands flew this way and that as he talked, something Shez found so incredibly endearing.

“Ashe,” Shez said, pulling him from his tangent. “I have a question to ask you.”

“Hm?” Ashe turned slightly, making sure he was able to look Shez right in the eye.

“Listen, I know we’re about to march on Enbarr, and that the future is questionable at most,” Shez said, “but I can’t go into this battle without asking you this. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, no matter what your answer to this question is.”

He could see the gears working in Ashe’s head, and he let out a breathy little laugh as he pulled the box out and opened it, displaying the ring and dagger - both exactly what he had hoped for.

“Ashe Ubert, will you marry me?”

There was silence for a moment, Ashe staring at the box in disbelief and then looking at Shez. He was smiling the widest Shez had ever seen, tears brimming in his eyes.

“Yes,” Ashe breathed. “Yes, Shez, yes.”

Ashe surged forward to kiss Shez, and he discarded the box as their lips met. He clutched at the back of Ashe’s neck, and Ashe had his arms around Shez’s shoulders almost instantaneously.

They broke apart after a moment, and Shez sat up, grabbing the discarded box and grabbing the ring from it and holding it out to Ashe. “May I?”

“Of course,” Ashe said, breathless and giggly. He held out his hand, and Shez slipped it on.

It fit perfectly. Shez leaned in to kiss Ashe again.

There was still another battle to be fought, and a million more fights to be had afterwards. But for now, they were happy, and together. And that was all that mattered.

Giving Itzy An Album

[my top ten itzy songs]

Okay so, I've been wanting to do this for forever! I'm a really big fan of Itzy, and, like every fan of Itzy, I see SO much unused potential in their music. The members have this ridiculously attention-grabbing presence on their songs, and I just think they would be fantastic rock stars!! (I was there when "Nobody Like You" dropped, and I'll never forget it.) So, through this post, I'll be making my Itzy-rock vision a (sort of) reality.

Album Title: kiss & cry

Concept: Your dad's hazy memories of the 70s. Brightly colored, heavily romanticized, aggressively chill, a tad bit psychedelic!

1. Round & Round -- iiso

I mean, this is a kpop album! So I wanted the album intro to be something that's trippy in a house-music kind of way, on-trend but still blending well with my carefree, psychedelic-rock-inspired vision for this album.

2. WORLDEND -- negoto (TITLE TRACK A)

When I say Itzy are rock stars in my heart, I mean this. I love the members' vocal tones, but so many of their releases don't seem to have any idea at all about what suits them. Negoto, though, has vocals that I find beautiful in the same way I do Itzy's--they're unusual, fascinating, and they bring SO much energy to the table. And that's why I've been dreaming of hearing Itzy on this song for three years now! With a melody like this, already designed to bring the best out of a whiny vocal style, I think Itzy would sound absolutely wonderful. This song is very pop-leaning, and there's just SOOO much energy in that chorus--Itzy deserves a song like this, 100%.

3. Scarlet Begonias - Live at Barton Hall, Cornell... -- The Grateful Dead (PRE-RELEASE)

Yes, I'm going to leave this song exactly as it is, except for adding Itzy's voices to it. Yes, there will be a two-minute sample at the beginning, consisting of The Grateful Dead asking the audience to please take some steps back. (It fills me with joy every single time I listen to this song. You can't make me get rid of it.) Yes, it will be 11 minutes long. (Look, after a release as boilerplate as "Cake", I reserve the right to make this one a little weird! I don't even mind "Cake" as much as most people seem to, but let me have my thing.) With its cheery melodies and humorous youthfulness, I think "Scarlet Begonias" fits Itzy better than you'd expect!

4. Ah Yeah -- Hyolyn

I don't know, this one just felt right! It's light and fluffy and a little strange--that weird distorted instrumental is so Itzy to me! I also love the way rapping & singing kind of overlap, running into each other, in the prechorus. I think the members could really show off their skills in this one! I actually think its vibe fits quite well alongside "Scarlet Begonias", too, despite all the genre (and era) differences!

5. shinkaigyo -- The Back Horn (PROMOTED B-SIDE)

"Ringo" but better. Though a lot of the other songs on this album aren't super dance-y, a choreography to "shinkaigyo" would be KILLER. So much intensity, and that BASSLINE??? I love that this track brings Itzy weirdness to rock, and it also has this really satisfying chorus that, I dare say, we all loved so much about early Itzy tracks like "Wannabe".

6. Love Spell -- GFRIEND (TITLE TRACK B)

Itzy's music tends to lean into these cool-girl personas, with lots of attitude & ad-libs, but I've strayed away for it from most of this album--"Love Spell", though, has that classic Itzy attitude, with some great rock influences, too! (guitar go grrrrrrrr it brings me so much joy)

7. I Know I'm Not Wrong -- Fleetwood Mac

A little silly, a little angsty, with absolutely incessant energy in its instrumental--I can see Itzy having SOOO much fun with this!

8. BEEP BEEP -- Ruann

What's a psychedelic-rock inspired album without some gorgeous tropical house to zone out to? Okay, yeah, this album would probably be fine without it. But like, it fits too well? And after "Bratty", I need more cutesy music from them!

9. Chill -- Chung Ha

Itzy's vocal power that really draws me to them, and I think "Chill" is a perfect song to center that. It's straightforward, with melody lines that are blunt & heavy-hitting--I think it could be pretty easily rearranged into a ballad/soft song that would bring out the best in the Itzy members' vocals.

10. joyrider -- second thoughts

Peak Itzy + guitar agenda--this song is just so much fun?? It's not really a happy song, but it feels just as euphoric as classic Itzy hype tracks are, and I think their vocals have the perfect energy to carry a half-angsty, half-humorous chorus like this one.

11. Stop Making This Hurt -- Bleachers

This track is literally made for screaming karaoke on the highway, and I know Itzy have the energy to do it justice & make it our comfort song of the year.

I'm a fic writer as well and I've been toying with the idea of writing chapter by chapter as I upload (I usually write out the entire thing before I start posting)

anyway I was wondering how you (personally) approach writing chapter by chapter and what you'd say the pros/cons are of approaching a fic that way

I. I just found this in my drafts. oh god how long has this been in here I completely forgot about this. uh ANYWAY-

this is a really good question!! /gen

So for me, I’ve bounced between both those methods for fic writing! Up until I wrote nocturnal animals, I had a strict rule for myself that I’d only have one ongoing multi chapter fic happening at a time. Then if I wanted to write something else that would have multiple chapters, I had to prewrite it in its entirety to ensure I actually finished it and didn’t get bored because that was a problem I had a lot as a teenager. Then nocturnal animals happened and I decided to experiment with having two ongoing multi chapter fics at once, one just being a lot shorter and lower effort than the other, and I found out I could actually keep both going! So that was a fun revelation to have

Now I tend to prefer writing fics chapter by chapter since I know I can actually do it and still complete the fic. How I approach writing a chapter by chapter fic depends on how long I think it’s going to be. For my long form fics (ie: will likely be above 100k words like clinic, world forgetting, stars) I have to be extremely careful with how I plan them. I know the overarching narrative of the story, I know the ending and beginning, but I only plot out 2-3 chapters at a time so I don’t know exactly what’s going to happen to keep things exciting for me. For these stories I also have specific criteria they fill in my head to make sure I won’t get bored and abandon them. But if the chapter by chapter fic I want to write is ‘shorter’ (ie: will probably be between 20k-80k words) then I can be a little more relaxed since I know I can finish it relatively quickly, therefore I have a lower risk of not finishing it. So these I’ll usually plot out in their entirety ahead of time. No need for the mystery because I’m not gonna be dwelling on the story long enough to get bored of it. Of course I always let myself stray from my outline so I still end up adding a lot of stuff that wasn’t in my plan, but I have a solid list of plot beats to hit in each chapter before I even start writing the fic.

Now pros: overall, I like writing fics chapter by chapter a lot more. it allows me to form a stronger connection with the story and take my time with it. when I try to prewrite something, I find myself rushing a lot of parts just so I can get it finished. then, when I actually post it, I don't remember all the earlier bits as well so the comments I get on those just... don't hit as hard for me I guess? even if they're really nice comments, I just don't remember my own thoughts while writing the fic as well, so it's harder for me. whereas when I post a chapter or a one shot the morning after I finished writing it, it's still so fresh in my head and so I appreciate the comments a lot more. also, I can take my time and not rush specific arcs or plot beats, and I think it really improves the quality of my work.

(I think a really good example of this is if you compare my fics vanderlyle crybaby cry and honey and tangerines. although the plots were very different, I approached both of those fics with the intent to make it feel like an indie coming of age film. vanderlyle I prewrote in its entirety before I started posting it. tangerines I wrote chapter by chapter. yes, tangerines took several months to complete and was much longer than vanderlyle was in the end, but I think honey and tangerines is far better than vanderlyle in terms of overall quality. I'm far more proud of it, I feel a lot more connected to the work, and I just think I accomplished my goal with honey and tangerines, whereas I look back at vanderlyle and feel a bit disappointed with its lost potential.)

cons: writing things chapter by chapter is a lot harder and you're running the risk of losing interest and not wanting to complete it. you have to be very aware of your stamina and your interest in the project, along with how busy you are and how much pressure you'll be feeling to update it regularly. basically, you have to try it out and see what works better for you. if you've only prewritten stuff, I definitely recommend trying a chapter by chapter thing just to see how you like it. if you end up hating it? it's fic. no harm done. you never have to finish anything you write if you're just writing it for free. you don't owe anyone anything. but if you like it? well hey you discovered a fun new method for writing!

omg i love all of these characters, constantin is such an ace king!! <3 what is everyone's ideal first date, either in modern times or in the campaign

Thalassia would adore somewhere private but interesting. Somewhere she could ask lots of questions about, and wouldn't feel bad or embarrassed about asking them. She'd also love if it was important to either of them, like sentimental in a cute way. Nothing over the top, but she'd be fine with something fun or chill. Either one would be fine by her!

Bettany has never once been in a relationship, but his ideal first date would have to be either a day in a botanical garden or at a natural history museum. The idea being that the atmosphere would be quiet and not too crowded for him. Also, with a quieter place like a museum or garden, there’s an excuse not to talk if he gets nervous. But because of the setting he’d be able to talk about his special interests which would help relax him and get him to open up. (These are definitely not my, the players, ideal first dates as someone who has also never been in a relationship) but yeah, botanical garden or museum!

Yvan Modern AU: "Ah, first date? Well I want it to be special of course, but not trying to come onto them too strongly. I don't want to scare them away! I'd take them out somewhere real nice, like a restaurant! There we could talk one on one without too many distractions. We could even discuss fun stuff like if we believe aliens are real or which one of us is more likely to survive in a zombie apocalypse! Then, if they were down, I would wanna take them dancing so we let loose a little! Maybe a drink or two, then wrap up the night by escorting them back to wherever they live. Gotta make sure they get home safe!"

Yvan In-campaign: "Ah, well Barovia is not quite known for it's picturesque destinations, but there are plenty of places to get some time alone. In an ideal world, we would pack a picnic and find a nice grove by one of the lakes. What's better than a little wine, cheese, and good company? Maybe if I got the chance I would play them a little song on whatever I had handy. I'm by no means a singer, but I think it's the thought that counts! (ooc: he's a liar. he has a WONDERFUL voice) I don't think many people realize how beautiful the nights are here, untouched by so much of the outside world. If you know where to go and how to avoid the stray wolf or two, a moonlit walk and talk is perfect for my prospective partner and I."

Constantin Modern AU: “I’m not really sure. Normally I’d say I’d be happy with whatever someone else wanted to do. I’d just be happy to go out with someone. But, if I had the liberty of choosing… I want to go somewhere the sun is. Somewhere relaxed, like a quiet beach or something. Go on a drive somewhere to watch the stars, away from the cities.”

Constantin In-campaign: There’s a long pause. Constantin often dodges the romance questions of all sorts, but it seems he’s got something to say. “Barovia has its share of beautiful places. The banks of the quiet rivers, clearings in the Svalich Woods. Even in the foothills, there is much beauty to be found. If the outdoors does not suit a potential partner, if given the chance I’d invite them to my home in Argynvostholt. Not the church, my home. Let them relax in the living room, while I prepare a traditional meal, the sort my father used to make, or perhaps bake some treats from my mother’s books. Let me take care of someone for an evening, provide a meal and a safe place to rest, without fear of Barovia and its dangers.”

Tyyran Modern - AU: "I'd love for a quiet evening at either my house or their house. Cook a big dinner. Drink some wine or beer. Smoke some weed. Play video games and maybe some music. Get to know eachother with a movie and some cuddles in the end? I would just want to enjoy their company."

Tyyran In-Campaign: "I wouldn't otherwise be thinking about this... But I... have someone that I am partial to... I WON'T SAY WHO. OKAY? Constantin why are you looking at me like that! StOp. Anyway... I think a nice first date would be a quiet night next to a fire. A big dinner, playing music, dancing and generally being jovial. An evening walk next to a lake... or even just a night with one another. Happily cuddling and chatting... That sounds... Very nice indeed."

Rorali would enjoy a classic dinner at a nice restaurant. She enjoys the simplicity and novelty of it and since she didn’t get to have a regular childhood or adolescence, she would really like to have some ‘normal’ romantic interactions. Rorali would also enjoy the separation of who she is during her travels and adventures and outside of them. Placing a lot of her self worth on her performance and skills, it means a lot to her to have someone value and desire her who she actually is and not just what she is useful for. Embarrassing for her, she really is a hopeless romantic and would love to go on all kinds of corny dates and be spoiled by her partner.
