There will be more FirstKhao stuff for the people who have started to follow me from the Thai drama side of things and I will continue my rewatch of Only Friends and giffing all the scenes (and other shows once I'm done with that). Good morning NCTizens it’s time for another Birthday Report! Today we celebrate our favorite otter dumpling, our lovely hostess’s son, Osaki Shotaro! November 25th 2000 he blessed us with his presence. Having recently rewatched the From Home Rearranged version, they’re celebrating his bday while filming the Resonance MV, so that also means it’s been two years since we were blessed with Resonance the OG OT23 video. Two years since Taeyong said his children looked like a picnic in hell. Two years since Ten kicked the camera. Two years since JohnWoo did their lil catwalk struts. Insert the Ariel “daddy I love him!” gif here cause daddy I do love them. So much. Okay this has gone on long enough. 🐖🐇

Happy Birthday Shotaro!! My sweet precious son. Oh I hope he's having the happiest birthday and I hope we get more Taro and Sungchan next year. There's so many members of NCT yet so many of them are always on vacation. It's been two years since we've met Taro and Sungchan. Can't wait till they get they're home group. I love them so much. All of the NCT baby boys. Again Happy birthday Taro!!!!

He is the most precious boy in the world. And if you don't think he's the cutest thing ever you're wrong, you're just wrong. Sweetest boy.

May 2023 round-up

How is it already June? I went to a concert at the beginning of the month, blinked, and now it’s June. I don’t even know what I did in May. It was a stressful, chaotic month. Do you know what I’m going through right now? Downsizing a quarter of the company. Not me, at least. But still. I am now picking up all kinds of slack while working on exit packages. This is the slow season since most of our projects are with educational institute but we thought we would have picked up other projects by now. So this is going to be a Fun summer. Anyway, here’s what I vaguely remember from May to prove that I actually have a life and am Doing Things:

I saw Agust D in Chicago! Guess what? I still had to work the day of the concert! So I didn’t get to explore Chicago. But the concert was fun! The seats at the Allstate Arena are the woooooooorst, though. <insert Jean-Ralphio gif> I think the bruise on my thigh where the armrest hit my pear-shaped body has finally faded.

I dragged my mum to the local production of 39 Steps. Those seats were much better.

I… think that’s it? The only fun noteworthy things I’ve done all month. Yeah. We’ve also been having tons of rain which is great “because we need the moisture” but my allergies are like “I HATE YOU” about all the new pollen/grass/etc springing up like weeds. Oh, and we got to enjoy a sneak peek at fire season as Canada’s ash cloud settled over us for a week and I’ve since learned I am now one of those “sensitive to air quality” types. It’s okay, I don’t want to breathe, anyway.

Anyway, media I am or have enjoyed/consumed:

Mrs. Davis. I can’t even begin to explain this show so I won’t. But it was an enjoyable mind-trip and I loved how wacky and colorful it was. I’m looking forward to a binge rewatch now that I don’t have to wait for a new episode each week. But it’s not a show I’ll watch with my mum.

Taskmaster UK (s15). I loved it. I loved how all the contestants got along (their imitations of each other were divine!). I’d never heard of Ivo before but now I’m mildly obsessed with his persona. I want Jenny to adopt me. I want Kiel to be my big brother. I want to overthink tasks with Mae until we get to the perfect solution. I want to start an absurdist art gallery with Frankie.

G-IDLE and DREAMCATCHER comebacks. My girls! With their summer bops! I am so excited! These may not be my favoritest-ever of their albums but I can’t deny that “Queencard” gets stuck in my brain and I have to be careful I don’t suddenly blurt out, “My boob and booty’s hot.” Tbh in my mind it was a perfect timing release to a Pride month anthem. (Oh yeah this does remind me that I really wanted to get tickets to G-IDLE’s concert tour, especially since they’re in much better venues compared to last year, but HOLY HECK travel is so much more expensive than last year and with work chaos, I just can’t do it. I am genuinely gutted but I will survive. Just don’t talk to me about it.) Also I tried to hyperlink to the MVs but it wasn’t working, probably because I haven’t updated this app in a million years (all polls are mysterious grey bars) but you should watch G-IDLE’s “Allergy” MV before watching “Queencard.”

About taming Kinn and Vegas

Warning, this post contains my subjective feelings that may seem negative to some fans.

Personally, I started KP expecting it to be a truly "dark & ​​gritty gay romance". Trailers, teasers and MV from my beloved Free Fall suggested that this is what this series would be like. The series finally turned out to be actually pretty romantic and fun, completely contrary to my expectations, but I want to point out that I do not make a problem out of it :) That was my vision - and the creators of the series had a different one. What convinced me to the creators' vision? First of all, the overall performance of the series and, well, Mile and Apo.

Kinn  This couple is COMPLETELY different from my expectations. I WANTED Kinn to be the real mafia boss, I wanted him to be like he was in episode 1. Kinn ultimately turned out to be the opposite of the mafia boss: D but I STILL like him and I like his absolute devotion and adoration of Porsche. It's because the creators of the series gave me TIME to accept this version of Kinn, and also the opportunities and time for Mile and Apo to show WHY Kinn is like that and why Porsche is so worth Kinn’s love and his change. To me Kinn has been “tamed and domesticated”, and while I didn't want it to happen, I DO NOT HATE it, though I still hope Kinn and the Porsche will become the ultimate power couple of the mafia world. Even though I’m fully aware it's only MY dream, because the series clearly shows it's not Kinn's dream. AND IT'S FINE :)

Vegas  After it was clear to me that Kinn wouldn't be as "dark", as I wanted him to be, Vegas became my last hope, to be the last "dark man" standing :D Now it looks it's not gonna happen (although there are still 2 ep left). All this time I was wondering how his romance with Pete would start, because logically there was no way for it to happen. The idea of their similar experiences with their abusive fathers made it possible to establish a beginning of understanding. Unfortunately the show, because of the limited amount of time the couple received, didn't handle it well. Since the writers had to jump VP from beatings to sex in two episodes, they did it on a turbo boost - the domestic violence was not enough to start the romance, so the death of the domestic pet and its ceremonial funeral were added. And from the pet's funeral (a hedgehog, that viewers loved, mede memes about and played silly naming games which is especialy funny in this scenario), our boys jumped straight into bed. I don't know what disappointed me more: Vegas suddenly defined by sad, sob stories, a complete lack of romantic and sexual interest between Pete and Vegas prior the sex, or the gentle love making that sort of, just happened. FOR ME, THEIR STORY DOESN'T MAKE SENSE AND IT'S SIMPLY RUSHED.

Why did I buy househusband Kinn even though I don't want it? Because he had time to develop, he had scenes in which I got used to him, I saw him opening up to Porsche, to his love from the beginning. I've seen how they are both affect by each other.

Vegas and Pete didn't have that chance and that's why I can't bring myself to see what their fans see in them. And I tried, because I want to! After all, this is such a great trope and relationship dynamic! Which deserves a separate series, or at least a mini-series :) Because I simply have to see the development of relationship between the characters to cheer them on. I can't see anything like that between Vegas and Pete. I rewatched their scenes, I studied the gifs carefully, because maybe I missed something. I read posts made by devoted fans. And nothing.

Until their first kiss, Vegas and Pete act like acquaintances with a complicated work relationship: D who are AT THE BEGINNING of a possible romance. It’s very uncertain and tentative, but it's a start. I think, that after a few more episodes, with the right amont of given time, without sad stories, without a dead hedgehog, without stripping Vegas of what makes him unique and such an interesting character, without chaos and abrupt changes/ plot twist, VegasPete would have a chance to have a great, profound romance. 

This is my personal opinion :) Don't get me wrong, I love the show, I love Kinn and Porsche as a couple, also Vegas (until he was made into a sad, pitiful villain) and Pete - but apart. I accept how much the series has become MUSHY, because it being a series mainly about KP and devoting time to them, their love is obvious and understandable to me. But honestly, Vegas and Pete from the last episode are a misunderstanding for me, plot-wise. It's just all too fast, they're already CUDDLING. WTF. As a result, this couple has no depth and intensity at all, because there's no foundation in this relationship, they haven't had time to build it. For comparison, the final scene from the last episode of Old Fashion Cupcake made me literally cry: it was so raw and intense, there was a whole range of emotions, it was very hot, but also very beautiful in such a heartbreaking way. THIS IS WHAT I EXPECTED FROM VEGASPETE. But Nozue and Togawa had time to get there :)

tl:dr Kinn and Vegas have been “domesticated and tamed”. Kinn had time to solidify his “Porsche-induced change". Vegas, which had three scenes to show what Kinn had all season to, is just chaotic. He has ruched scenes presented one after another - of torture, pet's funeral and sex with a man he tortured. How is that respectful to this character? Personally, I think this season should have at least 18 episodes and the VP arc should only begin NOW, or VP should only develop in Season 2.

I think Tharntype is probably one of the most overrated (love MewGulf but the story is a bit 👀), and We Best Love is definitely underrated imo. You?

10 Most Overrated BLs

Ossan's Love original (Japan 2018) - why do people like this, WHY?

The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese (Japan 2020) - oh it’s hot I just... don’t like it 

The Untamed (China 2020) - yeah, sorry not sorry? Not my jam, not my toast, not my fandom, not interested in arguing about it. I respect your kink but its a hard limit for me.  

Love By Chance 2 (Thailand 2020) - nope didn’t like it, have never bothered to rewatch it 

Where Your Eyes Linger (Korea 2020) - look people like it and I get it, but the total fan obsession with this one goes right over my head 

2gether & Still 2gether (Thailand 2020-2021) - possibly the one I find the most overrated on this list, oh I like it, but the amazing fan reaction? I don’t get it and never will. BrightWin are fine, it’s fine, its a serviceable romcom with some questionable content and uneven chemistry, but that’s all. I think maybe because it was a lot of people’s first BL? 

KinnPorsche (Thailand 2022) - I do not want to argue about it, for me it felt all over the place tonally, inconsistent in characterization and filming, and had a poorly executed plot that never lived up to the promise of that first trailer. The chemistry was fine but, guess what? I’ve seen better. 

Enchanté (Thailand 2022) - am I bitter, yes I’m so bitter. I wanted to like this show so much. The chemistry was good, the team was good, the production values high. Chalk another one up to GMMTV squandering talent on a terrible script. 

To My Star 2 (Korea 2022) - TMS original is one of my favorite BLs OF ALL TIME, I hated season 2 and I’m still upset about it. Oh yes I understand why they did what they did, but I am not happy about it, I don’t think the story was the right direction for the characters, and while actors stretching their shops is pleasing to watch, no matter how clever or beautifully filmed or meaningful I didn’t want to watch my boys done dirty like this. This was just another nail in the coffin of NO SECOND SEASONS iN BL. 

Fish Upon the Sky (Thailand 2021) - nope nope nope 

10 Most Underrated BLs

1. He’s Coming To Me (Thailand 2019) - for my money probubly one of GMMTV’s best BLs. Clean concept and flawless execution, good mystery, complex characters and one of the greatest coming out sequences ever put on screen. Boy and ghost boy fall in love, must solve ghost’s murder. Peak pining but also pretty tame, features my favorite sweet but important coming out sequence. The third in my precious triumvirate of unbeatable Thai BLs, that are only nominally BL because the story, acting, and production values are so good. (Together with UWMA & 1k*).

2. Just Friends? (Korea 2009) - just so cute and hot and fun and no one knows it exists. Boyfriends, one of whom is on military leave, trying to decide on coming out and the future. 

Find it on GaGa and also YouTube sometimes. 

3. Seven Days (Japan 2015) - the best BL as a pure unsullied yaoi sourced piece of sweetness, I will eventually convince every one of my followers to watch this if it’s the last thing I do on tumblr. One of the best live action yaois ever made, with perfectly structured angst, fantastic characters and acting, and no problematic tropes (rare in Japanese BL). The leads have excellent chemistry although it’s low heat there’s still some really cute mutual kisses.

You have to haunt YouTube and grey sites like dramacool or this one, but I promise it’s worth it. 

4. Long Time No See (Korea 2017) - high heat, violent, hella gay mafia hitmen falling in love even though they are on opposite sides of a turf war. Honestly WHAT MORE DO YOU PEOPLE WANT? You are not allowed to even mention KinnPorsche to me until you have watched this. I will accept no arguments on this matter.

5. HIStory 2: Right or Wrong (Taiwan 2018) - everyone loves Crossing the Line but I also really like the companion piece too. This is a teacher/student power dynamic, tsundere/sunshine pairing, plus cohabitation with themes of self acceptance and family domesticity. It's a slow burn but high heat (and that heat is good). The uke is out gay, the seme is unapologetically bi, and it's the first time Taiwanese BL flexed its marriage equality muscles. Triggers includes some verbal and physical gay bashing (not from the seme) and child abandonment/neglect (yes from the seme). The second half it a lot better than the first. Ending is VERY happy.

6. Dark Blue Kiss (Thailand 2019) - I adore PeteKao okay? This is probably my favorite GMMTV product. Bite me. This is classic Thai BL with a university setting, great acting and complex characters, one of my favorite friendship groups, friends to enemies to lovers to enemies to lovers, multiple angsty af coming outs, including a long stretch of a secret relationship. Early GMMTV high production values, good chemistry, BL side couple, lots of classic tropes and some great domesticity.

7. My Day the series (Pinoy 2020) - kinda the definition of underrated, it’s a fun campy high heat pretty boys being hot messes and I love it and no one else is with me on this. The set up on this one is enemies (also boss/employee) and they don’t like each other to start. But that gets resolved pretty quickly. And then they are some of the cutest, hottest, and best boyfriends ever. This is an under-appreciated BL, IMHO.

8. Wish You (Korea 2020) - one of my favorite Korean BLs and it is quiet and sweet and earnest. Crickets. Set in the music industry featuring a talented singer and the pianist who falls in love with him (and his music), subtle and achingly adorable. High production, low heat, short run, very tame, and Korea, so more of a western style. It’s not the most logical story though. No coming out, exists in the “Korean BL bubble universe” where everything is just fine and dandy with the gays. 

You can find this one on Viki & Netflix, you definitely want to watch the movie version. 

9. Nobleman Ryu's Wedding (Korea 2021) - our first actual gay kisses in a historical BL with crossdressing! OMG why didn’t anyone love this as much as me? 12th Night goes BL in this cross dressing historical, that ended up feeling like a Cinderfella fairy tale, lightly dramatic and utterly charming.

In some parts of the world you can find this on WeTV, otherwise gotta go grey for it. 

10. Hay Rival, I LOVE YOU! (Vietnam 2021) - it’s short, I love it to pieces, basically no one has seen it. Two boys (jock & nerd) learn that they are both dating the same girl. At first they hate each other, but then they decide to get together and take revenge. In the process they fall in love with each other instead. 

Frankly a lot of Vietnamese Bl could go on this list including You Are Ma Boy and My Lascivious Boss.

Most Underrated Bromance?

S.C.I. Mystery (Hong Kong 2018) - honestly why does no one talk about this? Why chat about Guardian and Untamed and such and NEVER once does anyone mention S.C.I?

It was the first bromance I ever watched. This was how I learned bromances existed because I spent the whole time being like: wait are they married? Or are they cousins? No, they’re married? WHAT IS GOING ON? Then I looked up the origin.

Got7 Not By The Moon Theory

Okay since it's a new Got7 Comeback! A new mv! And more songs to fuck up my life!

I'm going to make this theory after watching Not By The Moon mv....I don't know how many times I watched it. I stopped counting after three times.

ANY WAY!

My theory is that Got7 are different phases of the moon and the guys in the robes are trying to steal their powers.

Youngjae:

Starting with the first phase or the new moon is Youngjae. At first, this was going be Jackson but then after doing research and reaching his parts, I figured it was him. Reasoning? Because he's literally trapped in darkness. Why? I don't know. But a new moon is when the sun and moon are facing the same side of Earth. It is dark. Like Youngjae.

Yugyeom:

Yugyeom is both waxing and waning crescent moon. My reasoning is because A.) I ran out of members and there are 8, not 7 phases. 2.) the birds in his garden are coming and going. Also, the only light in his scene is lightning. Though it's small it's still a little light. Then there's the way the bushes we're cut. Idk about you but the circle of bush's he stands in it reminds me of crescents. And finally, there's the crescent moon he makes on his face. That was the most obvious reason.

Jackson:

I thought Jackson was going to be the new moon. He was dressed in the darkest clothes and he had a dark crown. But the more I rewatched it, I finally figured it out. Jackson is the first quarter moon. He has both sides of light and dark. Especially with the bright statue in the back. Let's not forget the people in the back one light and the other dark. His shirt is also white. Which is why it makes perfect sense.

Jinyoung:

Jinyoung is a Waxing Gibbous moon. The waxing Gibbous is one step away from becoming a full moon. Everything in Jinyoung's scenes is bright. Almost every scene he's in it's bright there's barely any darkness well there are the shadows. But that's what the phrase is it's close to the full moon.

BamBam:

This man the MOST obvious one. BamBam is the full moon for obvious reasons. His hair being the main part. A full moon is away from the sun which lets it fully illuminated. The full moon is the most important phase in many cultures. It is the harvest. To summarize, it's fucking important. BamBam is the full moon been he's different especially in the teaser photos. His mask is different. He has gloves different. His hair ooh boy it's so different. Not to mention in the mv when he touches the light. It's like he was taking it in.

Jaebum:

Jaebum wasn't the easiest to pinpoint out. At first, he was going to be a waning crescent moon but then I thought about it and came to a conclusion. Jaebum is a Waning Gibbous moon. The Waning Gibbous is after a full moon which is going backward. It is a step away from the third quarter moon the waning crescent and then the new moon. While Jinyoung is in pure light Jaebum is in pure darkness yet he still shines. Let's not forget how Jaebum goes counterclockwise in calling my name. Also, Jb is daddy.

Mark:

Just like Jackson Mark is the third quarter moon. He was going to be a waning gibbous but he suits the third quarter. The third quarter is the reverse process of a first quarter moon. Mark and his scenes were kind of given me Jinyoung's vibes but then I noticed something. At the beginning of his scene, it was dark and not to mention throughout his scene the lights would flicker on and off. It's like Jackson's except Mark shows his contrasts differently. Plus we all know Jackson is Mark's other half (Markson).

5. 5 tv shows that cheer you up

in no particular order

1. dr stone of course fshdhda a few weeks ago i like opened an episode of it bc i wanted to rewatch one scene that was at the beginning... but then i just kept watching it bc i just never got bored at any point n before i knew it i had rewatched the whole ep GDHDJDJ i also constantly go back n reread various bits from the manga, which should be obvious from how much i post abt it hshdjd

2. the next step!! my sisters and i are rewatching it AGAIN rn and it's just... when i was a teen i used to find it kinda infuriating how all the characters are so stupid n theres so much petty drama but in the last few years i've realized this is actually the funniest show ever sggdhdha like theres so many fucking characters and all of them have so much shit going on (except tiffany😩 god bless her soul) and the acting is so funny and the parts where they show the characters privately commenting on whatevers going on and the lil cutaways between the scenes are fucking hilarious sometimes and also the dances are legit so good, no matter how many times we rewatch it i always have a blast with it gdhdjd this is literally a 10/10 for me now like its actually become a comfort show, i wish there was a bigger fandom for it xD

3. pokemon sun and mood ^-^ back when it first aired i wasn't really sure what to expect bc everything abt it was so different for what the pokemon anime was like up til that point but it grew on me so quickly and i realized making a pokemon anime in a slice of life setting is actually so genius fdhdh i'm so glad they went in that direction, i haven't rewatched it since it ended but i keep going back to watch all the ops and eds and they never fail to make me smile :') along with that, animated pokemon has just been so good recently like in general?? there's the new season which has been so good so far as well (tho i'm like idk 10 episodes behind rn😭), there was pokemon twilight wings, then the gotcha music video (I LOVE THAT MV SO MUCH IT MADE ME CRY) and now there's the new poketoon shorts n i actually haven't watched them yet but i keep seeing gifs of them n they make me so happy😭 the pokemon games keep getting lamer n lamer but in return the anime just gets better and better

4. mob psycho 100 :3 sadly i also haven't rewatched this one in a while but i still love it sm and it meant so much to me back when it aired and bc of it i joined my first discord server and it was the first time i managed to make friends online and was just overall such a nice experience n i still look back on it fondly, this show has done so much to me so just thinking abt it or seeing it on my dash always makes me so happy

I agree that I’m very glad they cast models of multiple races and ethnicity's (although that’s kind of the bare minimum), but these women are still classically beautiful. And of course that’s not a bad thing! The women in the video are all stunning! I’m not shitting on the models themselves! I merely have issue with the way they are presented in an ongoing and pretty shitty way in which we are forced to view and consume female bodies. Which is to say, women have to be beautiful to be celebrated, and they have to be beautiful in a certain way. 

I paused a few times in the video but from my observation (which might be flawed bc the video does move fast and cut to different models quickly), there was only model that was curvier (they were dressed in the green bra/bikini top and jeans in the group shot) and they barely appeared in the video. All the close ups of girl’s bodies were with girls who were very thin. Again, there is nOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. It’s a body type, just like curvy is a body type. The issue is that thin bodies are repeatedly the only ones shown as attractive and sexual. 

Also, another issue I have is how women are never allowed to have “flaws” -- or, basic, very human features on their bodies like marks or hair. Just for some context, I remember when Hayley Kiyoko’s Sleepover video came out I rewatched it nonstop bc the model in the video had stretch marks and they didn’t cover them at all. And in Janelle Monae’s Pynk video she has fun showing women’s body hair (two videos from queer artists showing women as beautiful and powerful with human features?? wow, who would’ve thought!). And, like, that’s so incredible but also so sad that that’s something so out of the ordinary, and that it’s normal women still have to be airbrushed and presented a certain way. The women in the WS video are still presented in a way that is palatable for the typical male gaze. They are thin, hairless, they have clear and perfect skin. The one curvy model they had, they put in JEANS while the others have on bikinis and small shorts. Like, come on. 

TLDR; my issues with the WS video are small when it’s the video itself and big when you put it in the context of how the media and historically the music industry has sexualized and presented women’s bodies

‘vibe’ by 1TEAM. so remember when i said i was done with boy groups...well have you heard of 1TEAM. these boys are seriously the cutest, just look at them! and i love the vibe of this title track (pun intended). seriously it’s a jam and i would 10 out of 10 recommend listening to the b-side tracks as well! i appreciate that all the tracks have their own unique style, ‘countdown’ goes hard and is a great juxtaposition to the title track. i will definitely be keeping a eye out for these boys. (also they are very active on instagram and i appreciate that!)

take off - the 1st mini album by wayV. finally the comeback we all deserve. this shall have it’s own post because seriously it deserves its own post. i am still processing the music video. like seriously as a winwin stan i have a lot to process. all the tracks are perfection! ‘let me love u’ makes me weep with all their sweet vocals. ‘say it’ honestly terrified me with the first 5 seconds reminding me of some slytherin ring tone. it’s such a great track! its dynamic and that build of the track, it’s great and that ‘oh na na na’. 11 out of 10 would recommend the album and the mv!

WE ARE SUPERHUMAN - the 4th mini album by NCT127. so NCT has been ruling my time and energy ever since i had the opportunity to see them live (let’s be real they ruled my time prior hahaha). ‘highway to heaven’ is my jam and ill be that person to say it can rule as a title track. i loved the music video it’s simple, classic, and a vibe. i love these boys and every single song on the EP is a bop! i love these talented men, and seriously they never disappoint. i just have one question, do they have time to sleep?!?! like seriously, they’ve released the EP, have completed comeback stages, concerts, traveled north america. like what the even?! they deserve some sleep after all they have served us over the past two months!

i’m the one by MXM. i have no idea where i first heard this song! but it is seriously a bop and i am obsessed with this track. it is light, fresh, and everything you need in a summer jam.

her private life OSTs. seriously these tracks have been on repeat. thanks to this drama i was introduced to IN2IT again, and i have had ‘it’s u’ on repeat. also introduced to ONE, and ‘heyahe’ is a vibe. it was so unexpected to see that he was a rapper, to be honest i would have pegged him for a vocalist with his sweet face. ‘smile again’ by RUNY. like dang this is a bop and jam, i love listening to it just chilling at home cleaning. it’s great! ‘maybe’ by lee hae ri makes me weep, but in a good way. it’s just iconic and her vocals are beautiful. 

dramas & movies. *spoilers alert*

a werewolf boy. this was a rewatch with my friends. we were struggling to pick a movie to watch and we decided upon this classic. everyone really enjoyed it, and i am glad they were able to see park bo-young as a young actress, because they just finished watching ‘strong woman do bong soon’.

swing kids. this one i watched while on a plane ride! it is seriously not what i expected, it was a historical film that took place in a pow camp. it was a lot to process, and probably wasn't a great idea to watch on a plane with hundred other people, because i ended up weeping like a baby. but all is well and the film was incredible. i wanted a happy ending but about five minutes in i realized whatever was coming my way was probably going to be at best bittersweet. i would recommend watching this one, it was a spectacular film that touched upon various issues, and hardships that many people faced at the end of the war. kyungsoo is the reason i have been keeping an out for this film, but it was an incredible film in it’s own right, and i’m not just saying that because my bias of EXO was a part of the film. the cast as a whole did a wonderful job conveying the struggles and emotions felt. i would 10 out of 10 recommend.

side note: i just heard word that our boy kyungsoo will be off for military enlistment in july. what a great way to end the month, thank you to sm for the super last minute notification. it’s fine no emotional breakdowns were had here TT. i just hope that he stays healthy and does his best. i will be patiently awaiting his return. 

her private life. this one. y’all this drama. seriously insert *slow clap and standing ovation*. i loved everything about this drama our main leads stayed my existance with their story. our boy ONE burst out a new bias and someone who needs to release more music, like please and thank you (still waiting for a random OST to appear). i love me a classic drama with flashbacks to childhood, and friendships that are unexpected. i loved how he found her fan-girl side endearing, and i desperately need that in my life. and hello, ryan gold is extremely dreamy and we all need a ‘lion’ in our life, am i right?! i would recommend it 9.5 out of 10!

my only complaint is that i wish that shi-an found out that deok-mi was his fansite. that would have been the most precious moment of the whole show i can guarantee that!

he is psychometric. of course i had to watch this one, our jin-young made his official male lead debut. it was really good, and kinda dark, lots of mystery. i appreciate a good drama that ties in long lost childhood memories, that reconnect our otp. it was pretty great, and i did not expect his hyung to have committed the horrible act that he did. very unexpected and wrecked my heart because *heart eyes* and i wanted him to be a good guy. i would recommend it 8 out of 10. 

radio romance. this was a super cute one, and a kind of ‘oh i have no other dramas to watch since i am watching all live dramas’ kind of pick. but oh how thankful i am to have stumbled upon this gem. the main actor was also in ‘splash splash’ love and i am falling more in love with him like seriously. i appreciated the flash backs as always a classic, they knew each other as children story. i love how she really became an oasis for him to get to know himself and grow as an individual to find his own voice. it was a good one, i would recommend it for a cute drama! and all the pretty bows are at the end, even the second female leads gets her boo! i would give it an 8 out of 10.

i hate you juliet. watched this one on a whim because it was on the viki discover page, but i actually don’t recall much from it sadly. the episodes were short, and if it had been longer i don’t know if i would have finished it. super predictable but i don’t know how the main leads ended up together i was totally team joon mo.

love o2o. another chinese drama, who am i? this is seriously a great drama, and i loved the concept of her being a gamer, and how they met in that avenue before ever meeting in real life. they were super cute, and he is super attractive. of course they encounter all the hardships that a major-rich-hot-senior in college-entrepreneur  would encounter when in a relationship with the cute-poorish-girl from a small city. but it was great, a lot predictable, but everything you want for a cute summer rom-com drama. i would 8 out of 10 recommend.
