latest UnOrdinary chapters have been so hype. (spoilers for 340-343 ahead.) i've wanted this team up/the team being set up since I started reading UnO in 2018/2019. something's so satisfying about watching John being able to go all out against the authorities after everything they've done to him. and Arlo fighting with himself about having to take a life, it's really interesting seeing him as a scared and panicking teen now - compared to the confident asshole King of Wellston we started with.

Possible fanfiction prompt:
A reboot of Gilligan's Island, but the seven castaways are the Spectrum Club 7 from How to Dance in Ohio.
Gilligan = Tommy (friendly, means well, tries hard, but kind of chaotic and likely to ruin things, usually seen in red)
Skipper = Drew (charismatic, good leader, but knows how to delegate when necessary, usually seen in blue, also I just like the idea of him clonking Tommy on the head a lot)
Professor = Marideth (more intellectual than emotional, has a vast knowledge of facts about pretty much everything, most likely to figure out how to do anything...except fix the boat)
Thurston Howell III = Remy (highly influential and well-connected, could be morally corrupt but chooses not to be, the most likely to pack an absurd amount of "necessary" possessions to keep with them on a three-hour tour)
Eunice Howell = Mel (stronger than they seem, wiser than you expect, protective maternal energy, also I just like the idea of Mel and Remy being married because probably what happened is Remy got rich and famous from influencer income and married Mel so that they could afford to leave Paws & Claws and have a better life with adequate healthcare and that's the wholesome queer aro/ace love story we deserve)
Ginger Grant = Jessica (is a star, knows she's a star, knows that you know she's a star, acts accordingly)
Mary Ann = Caroline (sweet, wholesome, has a toxic ex, bffs with Jessica, and people totally like her better than Jessica, but don't tell Jessica)

Time for another fairly odd parents rant
Let’s talk about godkids
One of Da rules that bothers me the most is the fact that God parents cannot tell their God children about other kids with fairies. They specifically have to find out on their own. it’s never really explained why they have this rule
I think godchildren would benefit a lot from having friends who were also godchildren, and when it comes to our main boy, Timmy, I genuinely think being friends with another God kid would do him a lot of good
Since I’ve talked about before, when it comes to Timmy’s just general behaviors regarding his friends they’re not outright negative Timmy gets along with a lot of people and is a pretty social person overall but he’s also more reserved than you would think, because Cosmo and Wanda are his go to for everything when it comes to companionship and literally everything else so he appears more closed off to his friends then you would originally think especially since he has to keep the secret of having Cosmo and Wanda, he can’t talk about the most important people of his life ever
It’s the episode Wishingwell that I wanted to specifically bring up because it’s one of the few episodes where we actually get to see Timmy interact with fellow on his own without Cosmo and Wanda (i’m aware of Remy we will get to him later)
Molly and Dwight are the only two God children Timmy has ever actually made friends with him and the fact that we never see these two after their first appearance episode is so sad because the rapport that they have with Timmy is so good and the fact that he’s able to actually talk to them about his fairies the people he cares about most as well as hear about theirs and how they enthused about their fairies and it’s something they all love to do Timmy has never had anyone to be able to talk to about Cosmo and Wanda , and while he is friends with fairies in fairy world, it’s not the same as actually having children on his level
Timmy never feels like he’s on the same level as his regular friends, AJ, Chester, or even Elmer and Sanjay (who barely show up so they don’t really count since they’re back up friends)
Timmy actually feels like he’s on the same level as Dwight and Molly, even though he takes up a leader position near the end of the episode, it less feels like they’re just following Timmy because he’s the main character and more like they’re following Timmy because they actually value his take. I like AJ and Chester I really do and they can be loyal friends, but I’ve stated before they’re very all or nothing
Timmys in this weird box, where he’s on friendly terms with a lot of people, but he’s not friends with a lot of people. A lot of people wouldn’t go out of their way for him like he would for them.
Tootie would honestly be his best friend if it weren’t for her obsession since those two are practically trauma bonded because of Vicky
Also, to add onto my last post, tootie should have a fairy not only would it give her somebody to interact with that wasn’t her evil sister or Timmy it would put her on Timmy’s level, my own personal theory of why she doesn’t have one is because she can’t be trusted to not let the secret out as seen in the episode where Timmy gives her his fairies for the day. Her first instinct is to tell everybody about them but I feel like when she’s a little older let’s say 11 she’d have enough common sense to not blab about that since she’s like 9 in that episode turning 10 so cut her some slack there
Oh yeah, I said I’d talk about Remy ummmmmm I used all my brain power talking about everything else, so I’ll probably add onto that later

FebruarOC - Xochitl
OOOHHHHHH SUSHI MY BELOVED!!!!!! She is my character for our Werewolf game (which we're playing TOMORROW) it had been on hold for four solid years due to pandemic (we play (mostly) in person) and life/job stuff, but we finally got to start playing again on NYE! Nothing like sounding in the new year trying to remember a game you haven't played in four years ;;;;
(It was fine I killed something in one hit)
Xochitl is the 5'3" alpha of her pack and team dad (her beta, Rory, huge 6'something, is team mom). One of the first notes I made for her was that her fighting style is: (ง •̀_•́)ง !!! and a little bit of (*`ω´)/――――― ●)´Д゚) I was nervous about picking up the role of alpha originally, but I made the choice after figuring that no one else would probably do it (and I was right lol) in the end, I'm really glad! I've had a lot of fun, and she's the right amount of impulsive (it is one of her flaws) to carry them forward, and I'm the right amount of "I can't stand awkward silences at the table" to keep conversations going. Whoops.
She's from the Fiana tribe, though she's got a Hispanic name because of her father (Who was a Shadow Lord of Spaniard descent who left his tribe when he fell in love with Jael lmao), and she gets along most with her father who is also an Ahroun (meaning they're real good at fighting). Her mom had another child in a first... not marriage? I don't think they got married, but she had another child before she married Arturo and had Xochitl, but Xochitl never knew her sibling that well as they disappeared and presumed dead when she was still very young.
And by presumed I mean they actually did die, but they're back now! Hah hah! And working for the Autumn King, which, you know, isn't a real thing, so totally normal and okay and nothing wrong here, amiright????
Well, We're going to find out tomorrow, because we're totally going to finally kill the autumn king and save Zeke's mom and ????? something Xochitl's sibling.
the nickname Sushi comes from when the pack went to a bar and we met a group of Fae for the first time -- we were all being super paranoid about the Fae and you KNOW you're not supposed to give them your real name, except that Grace (the GM) said one of them was FC as Janelle Monae and I made some sort of involuntary sound and Grace asked "was that you or Xochitl?" and I went "(makes ionno sound)". But in her all her awkward grace, Xochitl introduces herself as 'Sushi'.
And then Ashanti (Janelle Monae) just won't stop rolling 10's when interacting with Xochitl and becomes instantly SMITTEN which now means that Xochitl is dating a really powerful fae lord of the winter court! And she's promised to bring back the head of the false king for her girlfriend! I'm so normal about them.
AND! ONCE THEY GET BACK FROM AUTUMN! There's something in the sewers that has been encroaching upon Rat territory, and well it's not like Xochitl and Remy are a thing, but also, Xochitl has two hands and I wouldn't be mad if she and Remy flirt a little hehe BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, She's been keeping in touch with Remy (who is also team tattoo) about the goings on, and at the moment the ratkin have it under control, but Xochitl is gonna help investigate and deal with it later.
Now, generally, the pack is an investigation agency called City's Eyes! through a few different series of events during their investigations, everyone did get a gold lightning-scar tattoo on their body (hence the Team Tattoo) -- this marked them all as chosen by these lost totems, and so one of our big quests was to go and save all these lost totems! Xochitl switched from Clashing Boom Boom to Quetzalcoatl as a result, which is like, her learning some responsibility and really taking ownership of being a leader and not just going about it as pell-mell as she had been.
She has been one of my favorite characters to play, and even with our 4 year gap, the one that I've played the longest (we've been playing since like 2018). It's so easy to slip back into her! And even tho she no longer has her chaos twin that was Theane, she now has another Ahroun in Tali who is also more Mature(TM) than Theane was and I think that'll help keep Xochitl on the right track! Especially because right now she's distressed because her estranged "I thought you were dead but now you're working for someone who is legitimately insane and you're going mad but occasionally you remember who I am to you and try to warn me" sibling is there and she REALLY wants this king's head to give to Ashanti. She only just met Tali but insofar feels like she can rely on her! And of course, she can always rely on Rory and Theo to help protect the others.
Now, forgive me, I have a lot of playlists and a lot of pinboards for her, so I'll end with all of those! I've also uploaded her character sheet and her profile for free to patreon (which includes her gifts and weapons). Please know that when I roll to hit, I'm rolling a minimum of 9 dice, and then if I hit, WOAH BUDDY. What a satisfying sound!!
Pinboards:
Xochitl's Board
Xochitl and Ashanti's Board
"We went to a fancy party and all I got was second place in a tournament and also this fancy pinboard of outfit inspo"
Playlists:
Xochitl's character playlist
Xochitl's "Workout" playlist
Rowan's playlist (Xochitl's sibling)
City's Eyes playlist
Xochitl and Ashanti playlist (ver1)
Xochitl and Ashanti playlist (bodyguard AU edition)
I told you: normal.
Wish us luck storming the castle and killing the false king of autumn!!!

Confession: I used to be one of those antis who hated the Roguneto age difference and saw Gambit as the "correct" love interest. But then I got older and stopped thinking about things in black and white, I realized that Rogue doesn't give a shit since her two adopted moms also have an age difference. I think a lot of Rogue "fans" project their thoughts and desires onto Rogue instead of accepting some of the less stereotypical sweet "Southern Belle" image they like to compartmentalize her into (one reason why 80s Rogue is superior to 90s Rogue is she's a subversion of the stereotype instead playing it straight like the more palatable to general audiences 90s version of the character). Looking back, I like how the "I can't touch a man" problem was sorta resolved with Roguneto in AoA, so instead Rogue's character focus in that universe is being a team leader and going apeshit to protect her son instead of angsting over Remy and how she can't have sex with him.
First off I think that regardless of context concepts like the "correct" love interest are never good. I think that's just become more and more obvious over the years as fandom has become more toxic and more people feel comfortable calling you shit like an abuser for liking a "problematic" or hero/villain kinda ship. The ships are fictional, the people aren't. Who gives a fuck if people ship milo from atlantis and yzma from the emperor's new groove (yes this is a real ship i've seen) it's not my problem. Neither of us will gain or lose brownie points with a god or whatever because we shipped the right ship. Not an attack on you just my Thoughts because that's a common issue now in fandom that I know I certainly didn't see it at these scales when I was a teen.
AS FOR THE OTHER STUFF--
god you're spitting SO MUCH TRUTH.
Okay I wrote the rest of my reply to this originally in notepad bc i don't trust tumblr and god.... this is so long 💀
But then I got older and stopped thinking about things in black and white, I realized that Rogue doesn't give a shit since her two adopted moms also have an age difference.
It never occurred to me before how the age gap between Mystique and Irene would effect her perspective but that’s such a good and interesting point! We’re not clear on even when Mystique was born or how old she really was when she met Irene and we know Irene is like easily 100 when she dies. She and Mystique met in the late 1800s — even if you keep her dying in the 80s and don’t fudge around the timeline at all for the current date 1880 to 1980 is a century. Rogue was raised by geriatric lesbians. Idk WHAT this means for her psychologically or in how her love map got formed but it’s a Thing lol. I think the big takeaway really from being raised by mystiny is really that she expects a certain level of partner care and maturity and in syncness. Say what you want about Irene and Mystique as people but they’re absolutely an in love and loving couple. They’re totally in sync and have complete faith in each other, they’re each other’s rocks. Which ofc is why Mystique went so off the rails when Irene died.
There’s definitely a lot to be said about her expecting/needing/wanting a certain amount of maturity in her partner as a result of being raised by two older women in a very established relationship. Barring the dudes who’re born in test tubes (Longshot and Joesph) basically all her love interests are older than her by some amount. Even Remy is at least a few years older than her no matter how you pace out his life.
I tend to think worrying about age gaps in a society/world or whatever like comics is dumb when everyone in question is legal. Half of them are like 50+ by now (the 05 were teens in the 60s technically, xavier fought in the KOREAN WAR, etc), some are aliens, some are gods, some people got stuck in a time loop for like 2 years, some people where in another dimension for a while, etc etc etc. It’s more trouble than it’s worth to get up in arms about it when you’re not talking about adult/minor pairings. Magneto is like, 100 now sure. He’s also been de-aged like, twice, once that I remember to the point of being a fucking toddler again. This is automatically so fucking wild and impossible to map to anything real world you’re just gonna hurt yourself trying to comprehend the ramifications of that catastrophic life change on even how the fuck he STILL REMEMBERS HIS PREVIOUS LIFE AS AN ADULT AFTER THAT let alone his future relationships with anyone lol.
I think you’re very right about that. When you sit down and read Rogue’s comics through all at once the difference between her in the 80s and her in the 90s is wild and not in a good way. All the edges get knocked off of her, her morals become simplified, they gloss over her tense relations with the rest of the X-Men even more than they did before. She was created with the kind of character design slogan “the girl from the wrong side of the river” and it very much seems like few people remember that when writing or drawing her and I know why that is to some extent — stripping away her “problematic” nature (remember, Rogue DID stalk and attempt to murder Dazzler and did some other fucked up shit), stressing her more mainstream insecurities, removing her heavy metal/punk/butch interests and making her more in line with a 90s pinup girl in looks makes her more appealing and fuckable to the mainstream predominately male audience of comics. Alt girls are niche. She only got to get her tat sleeve and be a motorcycle mechanic and sing rock songs and be really wild again when Claremont takes her over again in X-Treme X-Men in 2001 and it really does feel like a breath of fresh air. She’s rough and coarse and rude again. She and Storm are at each other’s throats at times. She’s angry and she’s reckless and she’s funny and she’s you know That Bitch.
“Okay but characters change and grow, they kind of have to, and just because their creator intended them to be one way doesn’t mean they have to stay that way,” some will say and this is true! If we kept to the letter of the character creator’s intentions Cable would be boring as fuck and Shatterstar wouldn’t be pansexual. But here’s the thing—
Both of those Liefeldian monstrosities still to this day have maintained their “character slogan”, their Vibe, their Flavor if you will.
Cable is still a super douche with mega guns and 80 pouches who loves shooting things and is Edgy. He’s just better written now and has more depth. Shatterstar is still an American Gladiator made into a Real Gladiator clone boy thing who loves carnage and communes thru media lingo. He just sucks dick now. And is better written.
Note how this is not what happened with Rogue. Consider how LITTLE of her time in the 90s was say, about her conflicted feelings about her Still Evil Mom or her trouble really making friends in the X-Men because of personality differences or you know HOW HER POWER SUCKS THE SOUL OUTTA THEM or her love of mechanics or any of the other things that really only seem to crop up when it’s Claremont or someone taking notes from his characterization at the wheel. Her Character Vibe is “girl from the wrong side of the river joins a different paramilitary group for better healthcare”. THAT’S LITERALLY WHO ROGUE IS. THAT’S WHY SHE JOINED THE X-MEN. There’s absolutely room for growth here but that growth does not mean she has to stop having a mullet, or stop wearing studded belts, or stop being the other lovable unwashed mongrel in the house next to Logan.
But Possum Girl is not fuckable to most men so they don’t wanna write it and they don’t wanna see it and very few girls wanna see it because they can’t project themselves onto that. Also, misogyny— internalized or otherwise. Girls aren’t allowed to be ratty, loud, coarse, butch, aggressive etc etc etc. Rogue’s name is FUCKING ROGUE she’s NOT A SOUTHERN SWEETHEART that literally DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF HER.
“When she was younger, Rogue thought the name made her sound like an outlaw. she played the part to perfection—using her power to imprint the skills and psyches of anyone she touched—until she realized she was stealing little bits of their souls." — X-Treme X-Men I think I cannot for the life of me remember what issue this is from but I know it’s a comic quote I had to type it out myself years ago since it’s not quoted anywhere else.
“The name 'Rogue' is not just a super hero code. She is very much a wild child. She likes danger and is much more of a Mississippi soul than a Louisiana soul.” — Claremont in a 2016 interview.
Rogue is SUPPOSED to be rough and wild and reckless and YEE-FUCKING-HAW MOTHERFUCKER. She’s r/THE_PACK in mutant form. There’s SO MANY WAYS to allow her to grow and change that do not mean she must sacrifice the skynyrd. But she doesn’t get to keep that. Cable gets to keep his stupid fucking pouches and his grimdark 90s patina but Rogue’s gotta have BIG 90S BAYWATCH HAIR and wear DAISY DUKES LIKE THAT ISN’T FUCKING VICIOUS ENDANGERMENT OF EVERYONE’S LIVES all so she can be the sexy southern gal and spend the majority of the 90s hemming and hawing over the practical logistics of hopping on Remy’s dick as though that man doesn’t have enough working general sex and BDSM knowledge to tackle the logistical end of a hookup with her and instead of trying to WORK WITH HER ON THE PSYCHOLOGICAL ISSUES just kinda fucking pressures her like a 10yo boy demanding a kiss from his crush for a while there before someone fucking LET HIM HAVE BETTER WRITING. Both of them are done dirty by that and most current writers more likely than not came in on this version of Rogue and Remy which is why we’re now being subjected to their malformed vapid bastard children in modern comics.
80s Rogue (and a lot of 00s Rogue) Imo are the superior Rogues because she’s an alternative girl. We have PLENTY of more mainstream girls in the X-Men but we don’t have any really who are ratty and mentally unstable and metal/punk and cause issues and don’t always sync up totally with X-Men “philosophy” and who’re Really Okay with committing Lots Of Violence and who are like, AGGRESSIVELY not perfect.
Why they chose to live in fucking nowhere Mississippi and what their financial situation is and just— whatever the fucking deal with Mystiny while they raised Rogue aside — Rogue is created as a mentally ill at risk runaway youth living in a foster/adoptive home and is heavily coded as poor/white trash. Like, I get very baffled by what the fuck is going with her early childhood with Mystiny (there’s a LOT of conflicting info) but i tend to assume they're living middle-classish since you know Mystique got that $$$. But Rogue absolutely at least coded as a lower class rough and tumble girl in the 80s and that’s like….. actually very important????????? That’s huge????????? Especially since the X-Men are the Disenfranchised Minorities with Superpowers wonder show.
Now look at any 90s comics or 10s-20s comics and show me ANY issue where “white trash” or “raised by Mystique and Destiny” shines through. Didn’t find any did you? Yeah. Thought so. This is why they’re the shittiest eras of Rogue Comics.
Looking back, I like how the "I can't touch a man" problem was sorta resolved with Roguneto in AoA, so instead Rogue's character focus in that universe is being a team leader and going apeshit to protect her son instead of angsting over Remy and how she can't have sex with him.
Part of why I like Roguneto in general is we just generally skip all the gross borderline fetishist talk about how she can’t fuck because she’d kill a dude or whatever. Magneto fucks. He just DOES. You look at him and you go "oh this man FUCKS". We don’t need to spend time on the fucking mechanics of it — in fact to do so seems INSANE. OFC HE FUCKS!!! NEXT QUESTION! Now yes Remy elicits the same kind of response but not the same level. Magneto is 3 grown children levels of fucks. DILF and GDILF fucks levels. This whole drama is completely fucking stupid with MAGNETO as the stage partner. HE’S LIKE 100 YEARS OLD AND HE OWNED A METEORITE. ROGUE HAS FIST-FOUGHT LIKE ALL OF HIS CHILDREN AT LEAST ONCE. WE HAVE OTHER THINGS TO ADDRESS.
After like 20 years of writers being weird little fetishist creeps about how exactly the logistics of Rogue and Remy fuckin would work when like that’s what a gimp suit and condoms are for, it’s refreshing to just not feel the WEIGHT of that forced conflict hanging over a romantic relationship of hers. With romy there’s SUCH a hyper focus by the writers on their sex life half the time not their overall relationship and it’s just weird and gross. Like they fuck, they figure it out and she works thru her fear of touch— can we talk about rogue’s mental instability and how that affects the relationship and remy’s fear of rejection/abandonment now?????????????? THAT'S WHAT I'M ACTUALLY HERE FOR!!!!!! YALL CAN'T SELL ME SMUT SO STOP OBSESSING OVER IT LIKE PRETEENS AND TELL ME ABOUT THEIR MESSY RELATIONSHIP DRAMA!!!!!!
Rogue also tends to just be fucking bonkers more when she’s with Magneto and I like that. She’s less southern belle and more fuck it we ball and it’s refreshing. It’s a nice combo of personalities platonically and/or romantically because Magneto is really an EXCELLENT emotional/mental rock which she needs and Rogue is 10000000% not afraid to call him a lil bitch to his face and he NEEDS people around him to help keep his ego/doom spirals in check.
Their arguments feel more like real conflicts and debates. When they team up it feels more solid and like a partnership. They just feel like there's more weight and oomph in their interactions. Magneto has such a power and gravity to him. He's literally one of the immovable tent poles of the X-Verse. They'll be finding ways to keep him on the field even when he'd be 1,000 in comic years. So by interacting with him it let's her be more of a serious character. She gets to square up unstoppable force to immovable object and really test herself against him while also knowing at the end they're gonna shake and say "good game."
You don't get that with Remy because Remy's not solid like that, he's built to move. He's meant to be flexible. If you take away his flexibility (morally, in personality, in allegiance, in wants, in self-image etc) then he's just not him anymore. But the issue there is Rogue is also malleable — she's literally absorbing other people. That's two rubber people trying to help each other stand. It ain't gonna work and none of the comic writers wanna put in the real effort to MAKE it work. (fic writers ofc, have cracked this code and know how to write romy who can actually work and be compelling even into the modern era)
for me, Remy was a good first love interest for her and I love his character and I still love their dynamic — just now in a more platonic way. Meanwhile Magneto is a better second and potentially endgame relationship for her. He's more where she is in life now and he both gives her someone to depend on when she's going fucking batshit from her powers and also someone to sharpen her claws on who can take it and dish it back.

Unfiltered thoughts about Court of Wanderers by Rin Chupeco
Untagged spoilers below the cut, click at your own risk
For a proper review that makes a bit more sense, see here. This is just my unedited notes I took while reading
Love that Remy and Zidan are back to being bitchy
Lol only one bed but on purpose
Did Eugenie just fuckin decapitate a guy with her long nails are you fucking kidding me 😂
Ugh Valenbonne showing up in person. Idk if I dislike it bc he’s a hateable bastard or because it lacks believability…
The overgrown castle and night empress cocoon give big video game boss lair energy
She‘s described with „dark skin, the same shade as Remy‘s“
Oh I‘m glad Remy is finally giving his father a bit of honest ranting about his abusive bs 👀
Lil bit cringe that the kids at the Fata Morgana would ask if Remy, Zidan and Xiaodan are lovers, and take an interest in how Zidan slakes his thirst
Remy telling the kids stories feels a bit indulgent
Malekh offering to let Remy take control 😍
Again, very self indulgent, could do with more subtlety but well
Good to know that she pegs him sometimes I suppose 😄
They‘re just so transparently horny the whole time. Like I‘m here for it but it gets cheap so quickly if there‘s extended focus on that
Ooov the villain was Aluria‘s colonialism? 👀 (remy‘s mother, re. her motivations, in his dreams)
Vampire pigeon 😂
Them arguing while fucking is funny but also a bit goofy 🙈🙈
I‘m on board with some bdsm familiar shit on display, but the presentation of it somewhere between kink and obligation is a bit off
Lady Rotteburg‘s apologies for her treatment of Remy ring a little hollow/indulgent too
I find it odd that Remy still meets with and gives info to his father‘s messenger?
Ooh okay that was in discussion with Malekh
I find it a bit toothless that xiaodan (and malekh) are so utterly supportive of remy‘s choice re. humanity/vampirism. They seem a big too perfect and potentially boring to me at the moment?
Ok good Zidan is weirdly controlling re. Remy‘s dreams shortly after
I‘m 12 Chapters in and a bit dismayed that I‘m finding it alright so far :')
Missing any acknowledgment of pressure/equalizing when Zidan drags Remy underwater 😑
Malekh‘s past with the night king 🤝 Raihn from TSatWoN
That the whole gathering of court leaders would pause to speculate on what remy has with zidan and xiaodan feels kinda cheap
I‘m here for the exhibitionism but I find it odd in its presentation. Like, ok their whole thing is submission, but it‘s still a weird af combo of a council meeting and an orgy
Like ffs her mother is watching 🙈
I just don’t love how much of the actual dialogue is so self indulgently about „oooh so a reaper is in bed with the third and fourth court leaders“. Like sure make that part of the conversation but it‘s so cheap if that‘s all there is to it
Some of the exposition is presented in sort of plump dialogue
I‘m bothered that apparently Remy still doesn’t know precisely what being a familiar entails
Elke recapping the development between Allegra and herself feels v much like it could have been much better woven into the story :‘)
So much interpersonal stuff is just really plump. „Hi remy sorry for my lord attacking you I seriously want to be friends. Ok sure I‘ll then immediately answer your deeply personal question that perfectly mirrors your own internal struggle re. getting turned“
Ok them fucking on Ishkibal‘s throne to help Malekh make new memories of it is fun and hot
Gah why does everyone else need to keep talking about it afterwards though, including with Valenbonne 🙉
Still feel like everyone‘s being entirely too generous and forgiving towards valenbonne
I don’t mind the focus being political, but I feel like there’s too much tell vs show
Remy being hurt by Thaïs being one of the traitors rings a lil hollow, calling her a friend when they‘ve only interacted a handful of times and one of those was her being pushy af
And Xiaodan figuring out all the details of the priestess‘ plan is also a bit much? idk
Them both being in a frenzy and remy getting malekh back by insulting him is cute
The whole thing where it uses the nth court leader instead of names is so grating
I‘m not a fan of how valenbonne is still their ally tbh
Increasingly bothered by everything that makes him appear sympathetic again
He apologizes but he‘s not really rueful about any of the horrible shit he‘s pushed remy to do???
This Jost twist is also kinda coming out of nowhere??
Not sure I got completely why and how Ishkibal is using the Night Empress‘ body
I do not like Valenbonne being all badass, using breaker to protect Remy etc, who is this for 😭
Valenbonne‘s „I should have died the day I realized you were still out fighting in those caves“ rings so fucking hollow what 😭😭
“I think the only legacy he wanted to leave behind was you”
How tf is any of this earned

This is my first post of Archive of Our Own. Please read and comment! I would very much appreciate the feedback!
Rogue yawns and rolls out of bed. Another day without the Professor, she thinks pensively. The X-men have been doing their best to be business as usual, but it was difficult without a Team leader. Scott has tried to step up, but you cant make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. Rogue likes Scott and he is a good friend to her, but he can’t fill Xavier’s shoes. He is often too rule following and strict and even more tense the longer the Professor is gone. Rogue is hungry and walks herself down to the kitchen and not surprised to see Gambit cooking up his famous beignets. Remy Le Beau has his back turned to her, overseeing the cooking and nodding his head along with the rock music playing. Rogue giggles at his joy and at his pink croptop. He looks ridiculous, but hot.
Damn him, Rogue thinks as she watches him reach for a pan and expose more abs to her. Rogue had never been the type to ogle and have her head turned by a pretty face, but even she could admit by now that Remy LeBeau had one of the best faces and bodies going and he knew it. His confidence was infuriating, but intoxicating. Remy turned around to face her and his eyes lit up immediately. “Good morning, chère! How do you manage to look so beautiful all the time? It can’t be good for my cajun heart to see such beauty first thing in the morning.” Rogue blushed deeply. See, this is what was so infuriating about the man. He oozed charm and charisma and was utterly unafraid to wear his heart on his sleeve. At first, Rogue thought that he was acting a part and all of this was a game to amuse himself, but then she came to realize that he meant what he said, he couldn’t help himself. He was a hopeless flirt, but also a lover of women and meant what he said about appreciating their beauty and of feeling in love. Rogue was raised in a strict Catholic household and then with two loving, but brusque lesbians so she was very skeptical and unsure about Gambit and his love language which was giving love and admiration in every form. He told her she was his and beautiful and the love of his life, he cooked for her, he bought her gifts, he made her laugh, and he was her best friend. Rogue could not say she was lacking in love when it came to Gambit, the irony was that it was almost too much.
Rogue and Gambit exchanged playful banter for a while, until Scott Summers walked into the kitchen. Rogue knew that he, Storm, and Bishop had gone to a mission at a Friends of Humanity station, so was not surprised that Scott was as jumpy as a cat when he walked in. He launched into his Xavier-like preaching mode and tried to guilt trip them about not being at the mission. Not that Rogue did not care about the team or its mission, but at this point fighting the sentinels and the Friends of Humanity was routine and the X-men somehow always won. It was worrying that the sentinels were still around and that there were pockets of humanity that distrusted mutants, but that was a reality that the X-men had been living with for a long time. In fact, at this point things were looking up for the X-men and they had some breathing room after Professor Xavier’s death.

Sorry for spamming with the asks for the extended mermaid club but would the mermaids be different as the result of Arachnkids input? Like: Yua using neopronouns like Gwen who uses note/notes, Aoi being less snarky to reflect Gayatri…
Yes and no! (and don't worry about spamming me with asks lol, I'm actually having a lot more fun with this AU than I thought I would!)
I would say that Sayu and Aoi would stay relatively the same personality-wise. Maybe Aoi goes through an arc that makes them kinder, but since Aoi and Sayu were one of the first mermaids made, I can see their base personalities already being pretty fleshed out through Remi's art and possibly comics and animations.
Yua was probably a work in progress that got changed before finally being officially inducted into the mermaid project because of Gwen becoming her voice actor (and possibly this would mean that Yua would also use note/notes pronouns if Gwen would end up feeling comfortable with that happening).
Renho and Haru's personalities can definitely be changed since they came out later in the project. They would better fit Peni and Margo's voice acting style (like Renho being a bit less shy and reserved), but wouldn't be too far off as Remi probably had a whole idea of how things would go and I can see the team listening to him on how he wants the mermaids as they were technically his original project (sometimes the team doesn't want to say anything because they think it might upset Remi but Remi honestly doesn't mind and is always willing to work with them. Just teenagers anxieties sometimes getting the better of all of them).
This does go into the idea that the mermaids need to represent their voice actors, which isn't always true! Not every voice actor is represented in the character, which is how you get voice actors like Tara Strong or Jennifer Hale who have really large voice acting pools with characters of all different designs and personalities.
However, the voice actor can influence the character creation, like how Neon J's voice actor ended up helping inspire the personality a bit more during development. I think that is what I heard, where Muhammad Zulhilmi said he added some singing to his audition tape or something and the company loved it and so made Neon J a but more outgoing and stuff.
So yes, the mermaid project is definitely not going to be exactly the same as the mermaid club, but it won't be ENTIRELY different. Designs might change a little bit, but overall the roles of the characters is probably going to stay relatively the same.
Now, the thing that sucks about this, is that I SOMEHOW still haven't fully thought of the mermaid club's personalities. Not to great extent at least. So trying to think how their voice actors and the teams more diverse workers would change the mermaids is hard for me to do lol.
Like I see Sayu as a leader type, very extroverted and always wanting to help others. Basic main character kind of stuff. Probably a bit like Steven from Steven Universe where he is always putting other people first and preaching about peace and love. Wanting to talk about problems instead of fighting but able to fight if necessary.
Aoi is more of a mean girl stereotype who becomes friends with the main character. Or is already friends with the main character and nice to them but can be mean to anyone who isn't a friend. A bit snappy and snarky. Quick witted but also probably hides a small temper (which you are right this doesn't fit Gayatri's personality, but for some reason I can see her having a voice that would fit this personality).
Yua and Haru are pretty similar for me for some reason. I see them as goofs and silly, but in different ways. Yua is more like a class clown who wants attention and is willing to make herself look silly, while Haru is a bit more mean spirited and willing to make someone else the butt of the joke thinking it's all well and good but is willing to apologize if things go too far. Haru and Rainbow Dash from My Little Pony seems like a good fit in personality type for what I am going for (don't have a character idea for Aoi or Haru).
Then there's Renho who I always saw as very much a shy introvert. Probably brought into the friend group last but brings a lot of care to the group. Tries to keep things from spiraling out of control but also willing to join in on the fun. Probably the most anxious but also the one to stick by a friend no matter what even if scared. I think a toned down Shaggy from Scooby Doo is probably a good fit. Like, a very loyal friend and helps out even if they don't want to. I don't know.
The problem is that I need to make them a lot more concrete and separate from each other. Which I guess was my mistake when first creating them. It doesn't help that the image I based them off of made it look like Renho and Yua were super outgoing while makign Haru and Aoi look like some kind of villains for the story.
So yeah, I still need to just sit down one day and flesh out the personalities for each mermaid a lot more. I have Aoi's and Renho's down pretty good, but Yua and Haru being really close in personalities isn't something I particularly like. At least if they are both the comic relief of the group I need to make them more distinguished from each other.
It's like with 1010 honestly, each one has their role and how they are supposed to act on stage. Rin is the strong leader, Purl is the quiet and cool one, and Zimelu is the rough and tough one. Haym is supposed to be the innocent one and Eloni the funny one, but I run into the same problem with those two as I do with Haru and Yua, because I want Haym to also be a jokester.
Haym and Eloni are supposed to play off each other really well, while also Haym and Zimelu play off each other really well. But having two little clowns seems like doubling up. So Haym is stuck in this middle grey area of being the innocent one but also trying to be funny (and honestly I can see Haym being the first to try and break from his role because being the innocent one probably came with a lot of infantalization from the fans he hated).
And that is where Haru and Yua are at. They are in a grey area right now that I don't like. At least with 1010 I can spin that grey area as Haym literally trying to break out of his role. With Haru and Yua's grey area, I don't even want it to be there in the story, which is why I try to offset the goofy nature of Haru by making sear a bit more mean spirited, but then THAT is a problem because that makes a grey area between Haru and Aoi.
I'm just ranting now, sorry about that! I think what I should do is do some small redesigns for the mermaids (nothing major, I actually love my designs a lot) but while doing that try to think more of what role I want Haru to be in. I'm content with basically the rest. It is just Haru who I don't really know what to do with.
I am willing to let Yua not be the super goofy one, maybe she can be that super supportive friend or the little gossip girl while Haru is the jokester, or maybe the other way around. I do like Haru being a jokester a lot, especially since Haru's Halloween costume was a devil/angel hybrid to sell prank gags. Yua was a pumpkin with vines which is why I think she could be the gossip because of the phrase "heard it through the grapevine" which I do like.
Literally yeah, I am so off topic. The mermaids in this AU definitely have the ability to change, but they probably aren't changing much since the team does want each mermaid to feel unique but also keep their already established identity if applicable (so Sayu and Aoi).
Also, I do think the names would probably be different for Yua, Renho, and Haru. Since the team is no longer just purely made up of Asian characters (the Crew) I can see the designs and names being slightly different for the last three. Maybe something more American since Gwen, Margo, and Peni are all from America. I don't know.
Pronouns and stuff could also be different, but also be the same as the OG club. The club itself only used she/her pronouns, with Yua being the only queer character by being trans. I don't think the mermaids would start using different pronouns until they became sentient. Though, Yua and Renho could potentially use different pronouns later on before being sentient as Gwen and Peni figure things out about themselves.
Though honestly, considering these are teenagers getting super popular with their work, I think they might be a little bit scared to have the mermaids with neopronouns. It was probably already nerve-wracking to make Yua trans when they had a small audience (and that is something some people could ignore or forget about since it isn't completely obvious just from the the design itself).
Imagine how scary it would be to make a character use entirely different pronouns (or at least add pronouns so it's like she/note) when they started getting popular.
By the time Renho and Haru were added, the team was thinking about joining NSR. NSR is full of older people judging new musicians. If they don't like openly queer things like that then they might not get accepted (which would be for the better if that was the case). So they didn't want to make those pronoun changes before the Lights Up Audition happened.
However, once they got accepted and started moving up the ranks (and later on become a megastar) changing the pronouns of characters will just look like a marketing stunt and could potentially lead to backlash for the mermaids and the team. They would be afraid to give these mermaids (who at the time are all entirely fake and not sentient) neopronouns because of their teenage anxiety telling them all the horrible things that could happen.
It probably wouldn't help that Gwen and Tila's family lives could be something the whole team thinks of whenever the idea of making the mermaids more queer comes up. It is definitely something they want to do, but they know not everyone is going to like the change and either say the mermaids are now woke and stupid, or this might make them less popular and they would have to push themselves even further to not get fired or something.
So honestly, I don't think the mermaids would use neopronouns before being sentient. However! If they do become sentient like how Sayu and the club did later on after the revolution, that is something I can definitely see changing! And the pronouns they use too would most likely change.
Renho is probaly not going to keep only using they/them (maybe something like they/fin). Aoi I kinda want to keep using he/they no matter what, I just really like that a whole lot. Yua I can see sharing a lot of experiences with Gwen since Yua was basically made in Gwen's image kinda, so maybe Yua does also start using note/notes pronouns as well as she/her (or maybe another set entirely). Sayu as ze/mer is still a favorite of mine, but anything can be used for mer (love the idea that Sayu takes pronouns that sound like she/her and keeps those ones or makes up mer own). Haru, yeah, I can definitely see Haru as going with something entirely different from sea/sear pronouns. Don't know what though.
Anyway! Yeah! Mermaids would change, not into a completely different group that would not be distinguishable from the OG club, but there would be changes. A lot of the major changes however come later after the Rock Revolution where the mermaids might become sentient.

It's the weekend!  Which means I am getting my word count the lazy way, by creating a ranked list of items.  So far it's just been movies, but I can go on and rank shows, albums, food, activities: my laziness and desire to categorize things will see me through many a weekend, I am sure.  We're going to see Elemental later today, so how appropriate for this week's list to be my personal ranking of Pixar movies.
First, however, I have to explain that I have not seen:
Lightyear (2022) Turning Red (2022)
Soul (2020) Onward (2020)
Coco (2017) Cars 3 (2017)
As for the Pixar movies I have seen, I'm going to start with the most recent and move back in time.  I'm also grouping all the sequels together, and treating them as one story.  Here goes.
Luca (2021)
I was delighted with Luca.  On its surface the story seems very simple: a young sea monster meets a friend who introduces him to all these new experiences, and then they escape to a small village where they meet a girl who widens Luca's horizons even more, and the trio band together to win a race.  Pretty straightforward.  The subtle message, however, that always gets to me, every time I watch it, is (1) as parents, we cannot protect our children from everything, they need to live their own life and (2) don't call someone a "monster" when you simply don't know who they are.
The Good Dinosaur (2015)
This movie is a Western with dinosaurs.  There's the farm boy, there's the ranchers, there's the "native", there's the wild creature that befriends the hero, and there's the gang leader who has gone insane.  I don't love it, and I don't hate it.
Inside Out (2015)
This is one of my all-time favorite movies.  It helped me, as a parent, to explain the different emotions to my child, and it helped my child learn how to convey to me what she was feeling.  I bought figurines of all the characters for her, and we would use them in our discussions.  Inside Out is not just an entertaining movie, it is a deep and wonderful lesson for all children (and adults) that their emotions are always valid, and should not be supressed.
Brave (2012)
I'm a mom.  I have a mother.  The mother-daughter relationship in this movie is so precious.  You see the conflict, and maybe at first the mother seems to be too rigid and uptight, but as the story progresses, you learn to respect her and cherish her, as her daughter does so as well.  Merida goes from treating her mom like the enemy, to seeing that her mom truly cares about her.  And Merida herself is such an appealing character.  You root for her, even when she is making mistakes, because she learns from them, and she can grow as a person.  What a perfectly delightful heroine.
Up (2009)
You know what I love best about Up?  It shows that a simple life with a loved one can be rich and fulfilling.  It also shows that after experiencing a devastating loss, you can forge new friendships and experience new things.
WALL-E (2008)
Again, an all-time favorite movie of mine.  A teeny tiny robot, the last one still cleaning up the mess humanity left on Earth, is the protagonist who is primarily responsible for everything good that happens in the movie.  His simple friendliness breaks down barriers and inspires others.  To me, this story shows that no matter how humble you are, you can do good, just by caring.
Ratatouille (2007)
As someone who worked in a restaurant, the attention to detail in the animation of the kitchen blew my mind.  Right down to the fabric of the uniforms the cooks wear.  Honestly, if I saw a rat in a kitchen, cooking, I would be pretty grossed out.  But Remi is actually very hygiene-conscious: he washes his hands, he puts his fellow rats through the dishwasher.  "Anyone can cook" does not mean "everyone can cook"; it means give anyone who has a passion for cooking a chance to prove themselves.  That applies to other areas in life, too.  The more you think about it, the more profound the lesson is.
Cars (2006)
Cars 2 (2011)
I do not care for Cars 2.  I saw it once, and once is enough.  But the main reason I have affection for Cars is how much my dad loves that movie.  My dad worked in a garage as a vehicle inspector, so he is very familiar with everything from a sedan to a semi.  Whenever I watch this movie, I think about my dad, watching it for the first time, and hearing his delighted laugh at certain scenes.  He even has a toy Mater.  He lets my daughter play with it when she visits.  So I love this movie by proxy.
The Incredibles (2004)
Incredibles 2 (2018)
Until Iron Man (2008) came out, Incredibles was my favorite superhero movie.  And Incredibles 2 improved upon the first movie, balancing suspense with humor.  When I was little, sequels were disappointing most of the time.  Now, I view sequels, most of the time, as a continuation of a story I loved, that enriches and deepens the connection with the characters.  Incredibles 1 and 2 are just…incredible.
Finding Nemo (2003)
Finding Dory (2016)
This is another story where the sequel improved upon the original story, adding depth and color, introducing new characters but also allowing us to enjoy the characters we grew to love in the first movie.  As a parent, myself, I love stories that show parents who will go above and beyond for their kids.  In Finding Nemo, that's Nemo's dad.  In Finding Dory, that's Dory's parents.  Both of the movies are so wonderful, they are precious to me, and I can watch them repeatedly.
Monsters, Inc. (2001)
Monsters University (2013)
Every child worries about the monsters under their bed.  Monsters Inc. teaches us that those monsters only care about fueling their cities, and they are fighting an energy crisis!  Seeing the monsters' side of the coin helps children to have empathy for these scarers.  Then, Monsters University shows that sometimes we have to give up on our dreams, but that doesn't make us failures.  So yes, the movies are whimsical and quite hilarious, but they have a point.
A Bug's Life (1998)
How many kids are fascinated by underground networks of burrows and chambers and the complex structure inside an ant hill or a rabbit warren?  Me, I'm the kid.  I loved anything that gave me a glimpse of small, hidden worlds.  One of my favorite books is Watership Down.  So I have so much nostalgic affection for A Bug's Life.  And another reason it's so compelling is the underdog tale it tells.
Toy Story (1995)
Toy Story 2 (1999)
Toy Story 3 (2010)
Toy Sory 4 (2019)
The Toy Story saga.  I thought Toy Story 3 was such an effective conclusion to the trilogy, I almost skipped Toy Story 4.  A friend told me that instead of being about the toys' relationship with their kid, they go off on their own adventure.  So I watched Toy Story 4 and it is my favorite of all four.  The thing about this series is that each movie adds a new layer.  I can binge them all, happily.
So you see why I cannot "rank" these movies.  I love them all, in different ways.  Pixar must be treasured.  The tales they spin take us to new places, show us new things, treat us to a journey of laughter and whimsy, but they tell us messages, underneath it all, that we need.

CHARACTER OF THE DAY #3 :
REMY LEBEAU / GAMBIT
It's been a long time since I posted a "CHARACTER OF THE DAY" post, so here's a character I had to talk about. Rémy Lebeau, by his superhero name Gambit, is one of my favorite Marvel characters, if not my favorite male character in the Marvel universe (in comics). Handsome tall man (he is supposed to measure 1m80), sporty and seductive, he has many qualities. Created in 1990, he brings new life to the X-Men universe.
Indeed, this fictional character is a mutant. It is therefore a human who discovers powers in his adolescence. His are to put energy, matter, into objects, and project that energy. He usually does this with decks of cards.
I must recall some biographical elements about him. Born in New Orleans, he is captured from a hospital where he was born, and is offered to a wizard before ending up on the streets. Adopted at the age of 10, he is raised by the leader of the Thieves Guild and is engaged to Bella Donna, heiress of the Assassins Guild. The marriage will take place but will be followed by an accident forcing Rémy Lebeau to leave New Orleans.
Tumblr media
HIS RELATIONSHIPS
Later, he will meet Ororo Monroe/Storm, one of the leaders of the X-Men. This group of mutants is made up of characters with diverse origins and powers, and friendship and love are born in this group.
This is what will happen for Gambit since Ororo will become his best friend and he will fall in love with Anna Marie / Rogue. This beautiful brunette young woman with white locks can absorb the powers and memories of those she touches, which prevents her from having sex.
Her couple with Gambit is one of the most beautiful in Marvel comics because they complement each other perfectly without overshadowing each other, they support each other and bring a lot to each other.
Their relationship is complicated, they will break up several times but finally end up getting together (I mean they get married) in the very good comics MR. AND MRS. X (2019). I recommend that you read these comics, which do not require having read too many stories before, even if knowing the story of the couple or the heroes can help you better appreciate the story.

HIS BEAUTY
Remy is a faithful friend, a loyal ally and someone who knows when he is going to be useful, he never tries to be in the spotlight because his beauty speaks for him, he doesn't need to make any effort.
Remy's beauty is a characteristic of his character. Even though most Marvel heroes are drawn as handsome men (tall, muscular, with nice hair...), Gambit uses his good looks, or is handicapped by it. Gambit's real name is Rémy Lebeau and Lebeau means "the handsome" ("le beau") in French. It's like Belle from Beauty and the Beast who is supposed be a really beautiful woman.
Indeed, his musculature and his physical beauty allow him to seduce girls in order to obtain information, because he knows the effect he produces on young women. But this can also turn against him because some women jealous of not being liked by him, or having understood that he seduced them with a specific goal in mind, sometimes take revenge and he must then fight them.
This is what we see in the comics GAMBIT (2004) which I recommend if you want to read a complete history on the character. This comics provides an overview of the character: his world of New Orleans, his friendship with the X-Men, his love stories with Belladonna and Rogue....
Gambit is a tall, muscular white man, he usually wears a variation of this outfit: a long brown coat (or gray or orange depending on the version, but almost always brown) over a purple shirt or top with black pants and gray boots or brown. He also wears a kind of black helmet that frames his muscular face.
He has brown hair which he wears short on the sides with long locks at the top. This is my favorite hairstyle for him even though several characters also wear this haircut. Otherwise he has longer hair that comes to his shoulders. The physical peculiarity of his character is to have black eyes with red pupils. It might make him look terrifying but that only makes him more mysterious.
His physical beauty is the subject of sometimes mocking comments from Rogue who proves that she is not attracted to him for his beauty (even if they have hot-looking sex when they can finally to sleep).
Indeed, Gambit is not only sublime.

HIS PERSONALITY
Gambit is a character who is brave, of course he knows how to fight but he is above all funny. Where Cyclops and Wolverine are serious and dark, he is one of the characters who, like Diablo and Iceberg in the X-Men, is self-deprecating, he is jovial.
He's a thief so he's quite resourceful, yet he's someone you can rely on and who expresses remorse when he does something wrong or makes a mistake.
He likes to talk about himself but is not too arrogant or self-centered and is as good in a team as he is on solo adventures.
-
HIS APPARITIONS IN OTHER MEDIAS
Gambit is a sometimes misunderstood and forgotten character (one of the reasons I wanted to talk about him here and today). It must be said that he is recent, and even if he is supposed to have been alive for a long time in the universe of the comics, he only appeared as a character from 1990 so he is not one of the characters anymore famous.
It must also be said that his other media appearances did not mark much. He appears in the X-Men series of the 1990s and at that time he was quite famous. For me he is a character who completes the group because his dark and difficult past does not prevent him from being optimistic and joyful and I find that inspiring. He is a character who is certainly sublime and seductive, but it is above all his audacity and his charisma that make him someone alpha, because he never speaks badly to women or other people.
Tumblr media
He appeared in the television series Wolverine and the X-Men in the 2000s, where he is secondary but nevertheless interesting. His appearance in the film X-Men: Origins - Wolverine (2009) is the only one in the cinema, which explains why he is less known than other characters. The interpretation made by the handsome actor Taylor Kitsch was satisfactory to the point that a film project was born but never materialized.
The sublime Channing Tatum was planned to play him, which would have been fine with me, and Chris Pine is now rumored to play the role. You know how I love these actors so I will be happy in any case. What I hope is that his personality will be respected because he is brilliant.
Ultimately, I would like to talk about the fact that Gambit is a character that can easily be cosplayed. I love seeing cosplays and Gambit makes even non-basic men handsome 😂. I may be gay, but I can appreciate a straight character or a straight couple (I mean love has no sexuality, so even non-gay couples can appeal to a gay man, of course).
Tumblr media
Still, Gambit could have been bisexual or pansexual because he likes to seduce and be seduced. So I find it very romantic to see gay couples parody the Rogue - Gambit couple with their costumes. I would like to do this with my boyfriend one day! All I have to do now is find my boyfriend....
To conclude I would like to put Gambit in parallel with my favorite female Marvel character (in the comics, because she too has only appeared in one film apart from the two TV series I mentioned): Emma Frost / the White Queen.
I could talk about Emma Frost / the White Queen for hours but what I wanted to say is that like Gambit she had a difficult past without this preventing her from being fulfilled or sure of herself. These two characters are not completely heroic because even if they want to do good they sometimes do it with questionable choices, but consider that the end justifies the means. They are therefore complex without being twisted and their flaws make them admirable.
Besides, Emma Frost / the White Queen and Rémy Lebeau / Gambit are not necessarily characters that I like because I identify with them (I identify with some aspects of Emma Frost's character, but not all) or even that I could enjoy in real life. They are such charismatic and imposing people that I don't know if I would get along well with them, but I guess they are still protective and have a sense of justice, which is enough to appreciate them at their fair value. They're still humans and not perfect beings, and that's actually what makes them interesting.
As a Frenchman and therefore a French-speaker, I find it unfortunate that several comics centered on Rémy Lebeau / Gambit have not appeared in French because he is supposed to have been raised in the corner of New Orleans where French is spoken (this region of the was conquered by France), and sometimes Rémy Lebeau speaks in French in the original text!
I hope you have learned more about Gambit and do not hesitate to tell me in the comments if you know it or if you like it and what you think about it.

AND MRS. X (2019).

Tumblr media

WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. (AP) — A civil rights activist from Spokane, Washington, a business owner and the founder of a winery and his family were on the floatplane that crashed in the waters of Puget Sound, killing 10.
The U.S. Coast Guard released the names of the victims early Tuesday. The body of one of the dead was recovered by a good Samaritan after Sunday afternoon’s crash. The other nine remain missing despite an extensive search.
The Northwest Seaplanes flight was on its way from Friday Harbor, a popular tourist destination in the San Juan Islands, to a Seattle suburb when it went down without sending out a distress call.
The dead include pilot Jason Winters, activist Sandy Williams, winemaker Ross Andrew Mickel, his pregnant wife Lauren Hilty and their child Remy Mickel. Also killed were passengers Joanne Mera, Patricia Hicks, Luke Ludwig, Rebecca Ludwig and Gabrielle Hanna. The Coast Guard did not provide hometowns.
Mickel was the founder of Woodinville-based Ross Andrew Winery.
“We are deeply saddened and beyond devastated at the loss of our beloved Ross Mickel, Lauren Hilty, Remy and their unborn baby boy, Luca,” the Mickel and Hilty families said in a statement. “Our collective grief is unimaginable. They were a bright and shining light in the lives of everyone who knew them.”
The Washington State Wine Commission said in an email that Ross had “an incredible impact on the Washington wine community” and will be greatly missed.
Williams was a lecturer, filmmaker, founder of the Carl Maxey Center and editor of The Black Lens, an African American-focused newspaper.
“Sandy was a voice for the voiceless, a tireless advocate for marginalized people in Spokane, a journalist unafraid to speak truth to power, a builder of hope in her vision for the Carl Maxey Center, and a beloved friend to countless members of our community,” The Spokane County Human Rights Task Force said on Facebook.
Thayne McCulloh, president of Gonzaga University, said the community lost a leader, teacher, activist and powerful voice.
“I am devastated to learn of Sandy Williams’ passing and we @GonzagaU extend our condolences to her family, many friends and colleagues,” he tweeted. “Sandy: Rest In Peace.”
Joanne Mera was a business owner from San Diego, The Seattle Times reported. Her niece, Sami Sullivan, said she was visiting family in Seattle when the crash occurred. She leaves behind three children and a husband of more than 30 years, Sullivan said.
“Joanne Mera was someone everyone gravitated towards,” Sullivan said in a statement. “She was the life of any party and the soul of our family. She was the best mom, wife, sister and friend.”
The Coast Guard ended the search for survivors Monday afternoon after “saturating an area” of more than 2,100 square nautical miles (nearly 2,800 square miles or 7,250 square kilometers).
“All next of kin have been notified of this decision,” the Coast Guard said on Twitter. “Our hearts go out to the families, loved ones and friends of those who remain missing and the deceased.”
The plane went down in Mutiny Bay off Whidbey Island, roughly 30 miles (50 kilometers) northwest of downtown Seattle and about halfway between Friday Harbor and its destination in Renton, just south of Seattle.
Whidbey Island resident Jeff Brewny and his wife were walking their dog Sunday when they heard a loud boom.
“First thought was thunder. It was that loud,” he said. “There was no flash like you get with lightning. So, you know, I thought it was a boat exploded. It was that devastating. My dog went crazy.”
The owner of the seaplane company was aboard one of two flights that took off on Sunday, Scott Giard, director of the U.S. Coast Guard’s search and rescue for the Pacific Northwest, said at a new conference.
The owner told authorities he saw the other plane divert slightly off course and he tried to make radio contact but was unable to.
“Shortly after that, he noticed on his flight tracker that the flight had stopped tracking and notified authorities,” Giard said.
Officials received reports that “the aircraft dropped suddenly at a fair amount of speed and hit the water,” Giard said. “We don’t have any video or pictures of the incident as of this moment.”
There was no distress call or distress beacon from the crashing plane, he said. The aircraft has an electronic locating transmitter onboard, but they have not received any transmission.
“That is very typical in times where there is either a hard landing or a crash of an aircraft,” he said.
The cause of the crash is unknown, authorities said.
The National Transportation Safety Board said Monday they’re sending a team of seven to investigate the crash of the DHC-3 Turbine Otter.
Coast Guard searchers found “minimal debris,” Giard said. By Monday afternoon, they had only found three to four long and narrow pieces of aluminum, very few personal items, a seat and some small pieces of foam.
Without a clear picture of the actual crash, and not knowing whether it exploded on impact or immediately sank to the sea floor, 150 to 200 feet (45-60 meters) below, it’s difficult to know what happened to the plane, he said.
Northwest Seaplanes is a family owned business founded by Clyde Carlson, according to the company’s website.
The company’s business office next to the seaplane dock at the Renton Municipal Airport remained closed behind fencing Monday. The only visible activity was two people hugging near the front door.
A woman who answered the phone early Monday said they’re waiting to learn more and are devastated by the crash.
“It’s a small crew. Everyone’s close,” said the woman, who would only give her first name, Michelle. She declined to say more.
The company posted a message on Facebook late Monday saying they are heartbroken.
“We don’t know any details yet regarding the cause of the accident,” the post said. “We are working with the FAA, NTSB and Coastguard. We have been in communication with the families. We are praying for the families involved, including our pilot and his family.”

continuing the anon's question (who asked you to assign Lana Del Rey songs to 127) how about the songs in your Spotify liked playlist?? songs that fit the vibe of each 127 member from there
Ooooo okay i can do this! I love this question. I’m going to avoid putting nct music to assign to any of them because that’s too easy imo lol.
Taeil 🌙
A little bit of a cop out, but since I listened to Moon Sujin because of Taeil’s collab with her I do always think of him whenever I listen to her stuff. This song is both fun but still shows her skill, something I think Taeil would do if he at some point gets a full solo. It has a fun production flair and really gives me Taeil vibes.
Johnny 🐱
In my head I can just SEE Johnny going crazy on the drums to this song….. i want him Yuta and Ty in a jrock unit so bad. I also feel Johnny would have listened to old FOB back in the day and probably loved this album in a nostalgic way. That’s my head canon at least and the vibe I get!
Taeyong 🌹
Considering all of the work and production ty has put into his solo, I really like this song for his vibe. The original song was good but this rework (despite who did it) is excellent and I feel like that’s Taeyong. He knows how to take things that may already be good and make them near perfect. He’s an amazing leader and artist, so I feel like the flicker rework is just perfect.
Yuta🍒
I still hope one day to have a Yuta-Johnny-Ty Jrock subunit. I love this song, and I think with Yuta’s vocals and stage presence this song very much reminds me of him. Love it and I think it gives very much his vibes.
Doyoung 🐰
I always think of Doyoung when I hear Taeyeon lol. He’s so supportive of his label mates it’s so sweet. Regardless, I chose this one specifically because Doyoung very much likes the emotional songs and this is my personal favorite from this album. The drama of it all really to me is Doyoung.
Jaehyun 🍑
So I initially was looking for a 00s rnb track for Jaehyun, but I feel like this song perfectly encapsulates Jaehyun. He would so lie in her eyes closed vibing out to this song or he definitely has.
Jungwoo 🐶
I LOVE THIS SONG so I was super excited when Jungwoo recommended it!! It’s very much Jungwoo just in that it’s a good, fun bop. Definitely see him having it on repeat in the dorms until they make him shut it off.
Mark 🦁
I knoowwww Mark has this song saved and loves it. It’s a good dance song and one of my personal favorite bad bunny songs lol. Honestly a Mark feature on a bad bunny song or vice versa would be earth shattering but I digress… anyways yes this is very Mark to me.
Haechan ☀️
I knew Haechan was going to be an MJ song since he just exudes Michael Jackson, and after going back and forth between Bad and Dirty Diana, I feel like this is the one. Haechan in his solo would so try to emulate Bad in terms of his image. It just so gives me Haechan and I can’t help but think of him when I hear Bad.
This was fun, thank you for the ask! Let me know if you’d like me to assign for any of the other units/ members :)

❛ there’s an ocean of silence between us, and I’m drowning. ❜ [Tristan & Remy]
ways to love | accepting.
Tumblr media
Blue hues were trained on the other as her voice filled his ears. Silence and drowning were the most accurate words to describe the divide between the pair as of late. Between taking over for Talon and the regular tensions they usually managed to work through, things became a distant mess. It was clear that the young blonde was finding herself between a rock and a hard place and Tristan himself didn't know what to do or how to help without feeling as if he was letting some other aspect of his life down. He knew he needed to be there for the club in a way he never needed to be before, the responsibilities on his shoulders making the world feel heavier. But he also needed to be there for the younger blonde and his children; to be a good husband and a father, things he didn't prepare himself for mentally when he was younger. It had him questioning his roles in life, within the life he had managed to create for himself. Was he a good father? A good husband? A good leader? Questions that traveled through his mind more often than not.
❝Sometimes drowning is the best solution.❞
It wasn't the response she needed, wanted, or deserved to hear. But the pressure in his head felt as if it was killing him from the inside out. He loved her more than anything in the world but he could feel the stretching, the pulling of the ropes that connected them. How had they gone from something so magical and blessed to wondering if their life was going to make it through this rocky, unstable ground? He didn't know. It had him lifting a hand, rushing digits through messy blonde hair; his hand coming down to wipe over his face. Ignoring the slight sting when fingers came in contact with the bruise against his cheek — a familiar sight now. Bruises and cuts, something that showed evidence of something unholy. ❝I don't know what you want from me, Rem. I'm trying my hardest here.❞

RWBY Grows At Remy's
Author's Note: Someone wanted me to make both a Ratatouille reference and a Lilo and Stitch reference in this one. I can kinda see how they came up with it. Also, for some reason I decided to link it to The Hunger and A Blooming Appetite, but those aren't super related to this story. Anyway, here's Team RWBY getting fat.
It was a lovely evening in the city of Vale as the sun was slowly setting and Team RWBY of Beacon Academy made their way from the bullhead station towards the seaside. Their pace was leisurely, as were their intentions for the evening.
“I have to admit, Weiss, I’m surprised you agreed to come with us,” said Blake, the black-haired cat Faunus, to her shorter, white-haired teammate, who looked at her with an almost hurt look.
“Blake, believe me, I’m not the person I used to be. You were capable of leaving the White Fang and I’m confident that you would only associate with former members that you trust,” Weiss reassured her teammate and friend.
“Oh, I’m so excited!” cheered the team’s leader, Ruby, her excited movements knocking off the hood she wore, coloured to match her namesake. “We get to have a real team outing. We’re definitely a real team now.”
“I’d’ve preferred somewhere a little livelier, but I’m not gonna complain about this,” mentioned the team’s buxom blonde Yang. “What’s this place like anyway?”
“It’s a small, quiet place that Remy owns. I think he lives there too,” Blake explained. “He said it should be pretty quiet tonight, being the middle of the week and everything.”
“Oh, thank goodness for that. Crowded places are the worst,” Ruby said with a sigh of relief.
“Um, not to be rude or anything, but… Remy, what kind of Faunus is he?” Weiss cautiously asked.
“A rat Faunus,” Blake stated. “He’s got a tail, in case you were going to ask about that part.”
“I actually was going to ask, so thank you.”
---
When the team arrived at Remy’s restaurant, they saw fairly subtle signage out the front for the place, calling itself La Ratatouille. When they stepped inside a bell above the door rang. The restaurant inside was best described as cozy, although calling it cramped would not have been too unfair. The simple and tidy wooden décor inside made it clear that the restaurant had not been open long. The team were inside for only a few seconds before a man in an all-white outfit and a tall chef’s hat atop a mess of curly reddish-brown hair stepped out of the kitchen. A long rat’s tail appeared out the bottom of the young man’s shirt and ran down, coiling around his leg.
“Oh, Blake, hi. I didn’t expect you,” the man said quickly. “I mean, I know you said you were coming, but I thought you were just saying that to be nice.”
“Remy, I wouldn’t do that to you,” Blake reassured. “Besides, my teammates were interested in coming here.”
“Right, good, good. Hey, why don’t you four take a seat here,” Remy said, gesturing towards a round table with four seats and four menus on it. “I’ll take drink and entrée orders in a bit, just gotta do something really quick,” he added as he flipped the sign on the door from ‘Open’ to ‘Closed’ and lowered the blinds. “The rest of my staff left for the day and some of them were sick, so it’s just me and there’s no way I could serve more than you guys. Just making sure I’m not biting off more than I can chew,” he explained, probably unnecessarily, but the explanation gave the team time to decide on their orders. “So, uh, what can I make for you four?”
“Can we get a thing of calamari and a thing of garlic bread to share?” Ruby asked.
“Actually, make it two of each, just to be safe,” Weiss interrupted.
“Sure thing,” Remy said. “And drinks?” he asked. Yang ordered her regular strawberry sunrise, making Remy look a little nervous, but Ruby’s orange juice, Weiss’ glass of white wine and Blake’s lemonade were much easier to deal with. With that Remy disappeared into the kitchen, quickly sorted out drink and then dashed back in to sort out the food. As he cooked his hands began to glow with a faint grey aura that he didn’t even notice in amongst all of the cooking he had to do.
After a whirlwind of cooking, the fried calamari and garlic bread were ready, two bowls of each set down on a large tray and ready for Remy to carry out to the team. It barely left the kitchen before the girls noticed and interrupted their conversation.
“Ooh, that smells so good!” Ruby cheered as Remy set the tray down and moved the entrées from the tray to the centre of the table where all the girls could reach it. The team thanked Remy as he tucked the tray under his arm.
“So, uh, hope you guys enjoy it. I’ll keep an eye and ear out for when you’re done and ask about mains then,” Remy said quickly before ducking back into the kitchen to clean up. Remy had barely left before Ruby and Yang snatched up a piece of garlic bread each and Weiss and Blake took a piece of calamari each. As the four of them bit into their food their eyes lit up.
“Mmm, so good!” Ruby exclaimed before shoving the rest of her piece into her mouth. The rest of the team enthusiastically agreed with her, following Ruby’s lead and ploughing through the rest of the garlic bread and battered calamari.
“Oh man, I feel like I could eat this forever,” Yang said through a mouth half full of calamari.
“Agreed,” Blake instantly responded.
“Careful you three, you’ll spoil your appetites for the main and dessert,” Weiss warned, despite the fact that she was almost unknowingly eating about as quickly at the rest of the team.
Something else that Weiss, as well as the rest of the team, failed to notice was the effect that this food was having on them. Sure, it felt great to eat and tasted amazing, but there was an unexpected side effect. The four girls were getting fatter by the mouthful. It was a slow gain, not one that most would call dramatic, but compared to a natural weight gain this was incredibly rapid. Waistlines expanded as bellies formed on the four girls, with Ruby’s belly outshining the rest of her team’s as it squished around her waist cincher. Their hips flared out, bringing plumper rears and thicker thighs, with Blake and Weiss respectively being the largest in those parts, large enough that Blake’s shorts began to groan as they attempted to stretch to container and large enough that Weiss would be glad that she preferred the freedom of her combat skirt over shorts if she even knew that there were any issues at all. Their tops grew snugger and snugger around growing chests, with Yang’s surging into an even more comfortable lead than they already had, even if the lead was all that was comfortable as her bra squeezed and confined her chest. Yet, despite this growth making them chubby within minutes, none of them noticed a thing.
---
With their entrées done, Remy popped back out of the kitchen to take orders for mains, but his eyes bugged wide open when he saw the girls. It had only been a light meal so far, but they all had seemed to have gotten fatter just from that in the few minutes it took for them to eat it. Blake and Yang had soft potbellies hanging over their waistbands, with Yang loosening her belt to give herself more room, Ruby was loosening off her waist cincher to deal with her own potbelly, almost certainly the largest of the lot, and Weiss’ just pressed against the fabric of her dress. Yang’s chest seemed to have gone up a cup size or two, her cleavage deepening and her breasts squishing against her bra. Weiss and Blake’s rears had plumped up a bit, Blake’s more than Weiss’, lifting the two of them up an inch or so due to their padded rears. Remy’s tail wrapped itself around his leg in fear as he silently awaited angry responses, but nothing came. The team seemingly hadn’t noticed their weight gains and in fact, they looked quite happy.
‘This is okay,’ Remy thought to himself, ‘this is fine. Don’t panic.’ “So, ladies, it looks like you enjoyed your entrées,” Remy said to the girls, doing his best to keep his voice from betraying his internal panic.
“Yes, it was wonderful,” Weiss responded, a small but sincere smile on her face.
“So, uh, did you have a chance to choose your mains?” Remy asked, pulling a notepad from his apron pocket.
“Fish of the day, please,” Blake immediately responded. Yang chuckled quietly.
“Predicted that one from a mile away, Blakey,” she joked, before quickly double-checking the menu. “I’ll have the scotch filet, cooked medium, and can I get a side of chips with it?” Remy nodded and wrote down the pair’s orders.
“I believe I’ll have the… oh dear, how do I pronounce this? Moose… something…” Weiss tried to say, stumbling through her words.
“Moussaka, Weiss,” Blake quietly corrected.
“Yes, that, thank you, Blake,” Weiss said, “I haven’t had it before, so I was unsure, but I am very curious.”
“Ooh, ooh, can I get the lasagne? Oh, and chips would be nice too,” Ruby excitedly asked. Remy nodded and added her order beneath Weiss’.
“Okay… I think that’s everyone’s orders. Same drinks again?” Remy asked. The team nodded and with that, Remy was back in the kitchen. As soon as the door was closed, he put his face in his hands. “Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap,” he panicked quietly. “Okay, c’mon semblance, be cool, don’t make your old friend and her new friends fat.” With that, he took a deep breath to try to calm himself, got the team’s drinks out to them and got a start on their main meals. Unfortunately, Remy’s need for these meals to be perfect overrode his focus on controlling his semblance, causing him to miss the faint grey glow of his aura on his hands, the sign that his aura was affecting his cooking.
---
Not long later, Remy had the main course ready for the team. He took a deep breath, hoped that this didn’t get any worse, got everything out on the tray and made his way out of the kitchen. Again, the team turned to watch him bring the delectable smelling food. Remy winced as he saw how the girls’ faces looked softer than they had when they arrived, but he soldiered on.
“Okay, it’s all ready. Here you go,” Remy said, trying to keep his voice from wavering with nerves.
“Thank you,” Ruby chirped, taking a big, long sniff of her lasagne. “Mmm, so good,” she said, almost drooling. Meanwhile, Blake was literally drooling over her large salmon steak and Yang was drooling over her massive hunk of steak.
“I’m looking forward to trying this,” Weiss said as Remy put her moussaka in front of her.
“Okay, that should be everything. So, uh, hope you enjoy it. Same as before, I’ll be in the kitchen cleaning, shout if you need me,” Remy said before taking the tray back and dashing back into the kitchen. Remy had barely left when Blake started tearing into her meal. Ruby and Yang followed suit at a slightly slower pace, but still eating very quickly, while Weiss started on her moussaka at a fairly normal pace. There was no distracting the team from their meals as they ate away at them, no chatter, no breaks, just eating. Again, their bodies began to grow fatter by the second, and in mere minutes the girls were without a doubt entering into obesity. Ruby’s round belly worked its way out of her waist cincher, undoing it and working on stretching out her combat dress, making it ride up and up, making it dangerously close to making her indecent. Weiss’ slim-fitting dress was quickly becoming an issue as her belly and hips started to strain her clothes, her seams slowly starting to give out, revealing tiny hints of her pale flesh. Blake’s widening hips made her shorts undo themselves, while her plumping rear made her shorts and panties groan as they strained to keep her contained. Yang’s bra clasp snapped, undoing itself and freeing her ballooning breasts as they dropped to rest on her belly, which had grown large enough to make Yang need to undo her jacket. Ruby’s thighs grew thicker and thicker, stretching and tearing at her tights as her thighs began to bubble through them. Weiss’ normally modest chest was plumping up and starting to spill out of her bra and top, with a tight cleavage forming. Blake’s belly forced her vest to undo itself as it surged forward, spilling onto her widening lap. Yang’s shorts were stretching and stretching to keep her widening rear until it started looking more like a pair of panties than a pair of shorts, with her panties being stretched to their limits. Ruby’s belt snapped, unable to contain the growing girl’s girth as it fell off of her to join the equally useless waist cincher. Weiss’ waist sash undid itself while her dress’ splitting seams tore more and more, going all the way up to her bra, which was beginning to dig in to her soft back. The detached sleeve and silver cuff on Blake’s left arm gave way to her +chunky arms, falling to the floor, ignored, as she kept eating. Yang’s jacket, despite being undone, grew tighter and tighter, the cuffs of her sleeves popping open and the shoulders of her jacket feeling tighter as Yang’s sloped shoulders pushed against it.
As the end of the meal came, the team leaned back in their quietly creaking chairs, patting satisfied and pillowy bellies. Yang squeezed out of her jacket and sat it on the back of her chair, before digging under her crop top and plucking her purple bra out, stuffing it in a jacket pocket. Now with just her crop top, Yang looked like she was crammed into it and it was almost ready to blow and reveal her breasts, which rested heavily on her belly and had forced her top to ride up so much that her belly was almost fully exposed. Weiss slipped out of her own jacket, making the tear down the side even more obvious than before, as well as how much her newly expanded chest was squeezed by her dress. Blake slipped out of her vest, making how snug her white crop top was around her expanded chest and belly. Yet, despite all of their gains, the team seemed to completely ignore it, if they even noticed it in the first place.
“Ah, this stuff’s good. We gotta come back some time,” Yang groaned as she stretched herself out.
“I absolutely agree,” Weiss said as she tried to stretch more subtly.
“Do you think we could get Remy to come out here and take dessert orders? I had a peek at the menu and that chocolate fudge cake looks so good!” Ruby cheered. Right on cue, on account of listening out for the team, Remy stepped out of the kitchen. What he saw literally stunned him. He didn’t expect them to get so large. He was disappointed in his inability to control his semblance, but he had to put on a brave face, even though he was far from prepared.
“Oh, geez, you girls look… look like you enjoyed your meals! So, uh, did you want dessert as well?” Remy said, hoping that this attempt at giving them an out would salvage this night before things got worse.
“I think we all wanted dessert, right?” Blake asked her team, and instantly getting nods in return. “Could I get the tiramisu, please?”
“Oh, can I get the really awesome-sounding cake and ice cream?” Ruby quickly added.
“I believe I’ll have the panna cotta, please,” Weiss politely requested.
“Oh, and give me the baklava. I wanna try whatever that is,” Yang boldly requested.
“Right, okay, cool cool cool, got all that. Uh, did you need more drinks?” Remy nervously asked. He got an affirmative response from the team and quickly got them sorted out before jumping straight to the desserts. “Okay me, don’t use your semblance, you’ve got enough food, you don’t need the semblance to bulk it up. Now just don’t do it and maybe you’ll get out of this without four huntsmen in training wanting to kill you,” Remy told himself, hoping that that would somehow make his semblance behave itself. Unsurprisingly, this completely failed and his hands had the grey glow of his semblance as he cooked again and he didn’t notice this at all again. He trayed up the desserts, made a silent prayer to anything that might possibly help him, and brought out the food.
“Oh wow, that cake looks even better than I thought it would,” Ruby squealed with excitement as she watched Remy put it in front of her. It was taking all of her willpower to not immediately dig in, and it looked like the rest of her team was as eager to dig into their desserts too. As the team’s utensils went to work and Remy disappeared back into the kitchen, the team were quickly growing again. Their already strained and damaged clothes stood little chance against their surging fat. Blake’s shorts were the first victim, and her plush rear ballooned out, tearing through her shorts as her thighs, each grew to at least double their old size. She widened out to the point where she was spilling over the sides of her chair and then some. Her belly grew a second, lower roll of fat, spilling down her body, covering her lap and hiding the total destruction of her shorts. Her bra gave out, snapping and falling aside as her white top’s seams tore, letting her top be pushed out of the way by her expanding breasts. Ruby was next as her dress split down the front as her belly pushed for more room. Her tights tore apart in so many spots that they were practically useless now, her thick thighs filling out each inch that the material had to offer. The tear in the front of her dress continued up and up until it reached her collar, revealing her breasts just in time for the band to give out at the front and give everyone a view of them as the tear and Ruby widened. Weiss was next as her panties gave out. This wouldn’t have been an issue, if not for her growing rear and belly making her dress ride up and up until it refused to go past her waist. To match her expanding waistline, her breasts grew too. Her dress had very little give up top, not that it needed much originally, and so Weiss’ growing breasts spilt out the top, once it dealt with the strapless bra beneath it. Eventually, this wasn’t enough, and the dress began to tear at the top, that tear meeting the growing one her belly and hips made earlier and making her dress fall to the side, leaving her totally nude. She wouldn’t be the only nude member of Team RWBY for long, as Yang’s growth finally dealt with her comparatively extra stretchy clothes. Her tube top, despite its elasticity, couldn’t stand up to Yang’s rapidly growing breasts, and as it couldn’t roll down to her almost equally large belly, all it could do was give up as the seams tore on both sides until it reached all the way down and fell off, revealing her massive pale mounds. Her shorts didn’t last much longer, having already been stretched to nearly their limit. They burst open at about the same time as her panties and lay on her seat uselessly, her dignity only being saved by her expansive body. Speaking of their seats, the four of them had made their seats creak and groan aggressively with every move they made. It was so loud, in fact, that Remy could even hear it from the kitchen. He poked his head out of the door and saw the four girls becoming truly massive, spilling out of their seats, spilling onto the table as their bodies grew and grew, their fat jiggling with every move. It wasn’t helped that most of their movements were to put more food into their mouths.
Then, eventually, they stopped growing and stopped moving, happy to sit in their seats, satisfied and sated by their meals.
“Mmm, that was good stuff. When are we coming back?” Yang asked, a big grin on her face.
“When you put a shirt on,” Weiss snidely joked. That one comment seemed to instantly snap everyone back into reality.
“Woah, wait, when did this happen?” Yang exclaimed as she looked down at her cavernous cleavage.
“So big, so soft,” Blake said, almost like she was in a daze as she poked and prodded at her massive body.
“Hehehe, so squishy,” Ruby giggled as she sunk her hands into her massive pale ball of a belly.
“I don’t think I can complain about this,” Weiss said as she cupped her hand-filling breasts.
“No kidding,” Yang agreed as she did the same, but with hands that couldn’t even hope to hold her massive mammaries as they spilt over. Remy seemed to miss all of this as he shot out of the kitchen, his eyes wild with fear and panic.
“O-oh jeez, I am so sorry,” Remy said, his voice shaky with nerves. “I-I swear I didn’t mean to do this to you four. It’s just… my semblance, I can use it to… to enhance caloric values in food. It’s useful in keeping wandering or homeless from starving with minimal ingredients and it was useful back, uh, back when I knew Blake. Unfortunately, it sorta slips out when I’m making food while tired, and today’s been a long day with not enough staff and I’m exhausted. That, and my semblance tends to… I guess over-react with healthier people like you guys, but I swear all of this, it will wear off eventually.” Remy winced in anticipation of an angry response from the team.
“Oh, that’s how you did it?” Blake asked.
“Sounds like a pretty neat semblance, even if it’s not as flashy as ours,” Yang said. Remy relaxed slightly, but the panicked look on his face shifted to one of confusion.
“I… I don’t get it. After all this… I thought you’d be mad at me. I mean, I’d be mad at me if I fattened… me… up. Did that make sense?” Remy rambled. The response he got was a resounding shrug from the four fattened girls.
“I mean, it’s happened before, sorta,” Ruby mentioned.
“Yes, and while that was merely overeating, honestly, I believe we’ve all already accepted this as a possibility,” Weiss added.
“Yeah, only thing I’m complaining about it not having clothes to get back to Beacon in, but a nice guy like you won’t leave a bunch of fine ladies stranded and naked, would you?” Yang asked, putting on the best puppy dog pout she could muster, a look that really emphasised her more rounded face and pudgy cheeks. All eyes were on Remy, except for Blake’s, as the Faunus seemed to be enraptured by her expanded body, her hands squishing and playing with her new fat flesh, completely ignorant to the situation that was unfolding around her.
“Oh, um, I… y-yeah, I can help you four, I can definitely help you four, I promise. I’ll, uh, I’ll need the night to figure something out, but once that’s done, we should be fine, everything should be just fine. Just, um, follow me, you can use my room tonight, I’ll figure out something else,” Remy rambled. Slowly, as if their bodies could move at any other pace, the team hauled themselves up off their seats, which creaked loudly from the sudden shift in weight. They used their hands to cover their expanded chests and followed Remy into a back room. It wasn’t much, but there was room for the four of them and there were enough things to sleep in or on that the team would probably get a decent night’s sleep. “Now, uh, I’m gonna go sort stuff for you guys tomorrow, so, uh yeah.” Remy stood there awkwardly for a moment, before suddenly shooting out of the room and leaving the team alone.
“So, uh, that futon doesn’t look like it’s gonna hold any of us, does it?” Yang asked, jerking a thumb back at the olive-green futon shoved in the corner. “Besides, we’ve got enough padding, we should be fine wherever, right?”
“Yeah, we should be fine,” Ruby agreed as she sat down on her wide, plush rear. “Oh, wow, this is pretty comfy,” she exclaimed as moved to lie down. The team joined her and were all equally surprised by how comfortable it was and how little they noticed the hardwood floor beneath them.
“You know, after our run-in with The Hunger and then that strange flower, I expected something like this to happen,” Weiss mused, getting an agreement from the rest of her team. “Of course, I didn’t expect the four of us to be so… accepting of it.”
“I mean, Blakey seems to be pretty into it,” Yang teased as she prodded her partner, sinking her fingers into Blake’s side and getting a yelp of surprise from Blake as her face went red.
“H-hey, that tickles,” Blake whined before turning her back to Yang. “Maybe we should get some sleep so this thing wears off quicker.” And with that, the team eventually fell into a slumber, hoping that all would be well as soon as they were awake and that Remy would deliver with clothes to get them back to Beacon. This had been an unusual experience, but it was hardly as bad as the team ever expected it to be.

Pestering you with ask game questions teehee!
8 for Mata-Shali, 32 for Ahad, 22 for Remy, and maybe a 23 for Opal if we’re feeling a little silly
Thank you for the ask game questions teehee! Deepest apologies that they took so long to be answered
8. A song that fits them, and do you think they would enjoy it? [Mata-shali]
Okay so I’ll admit that not once but twice did I read this question, listen to the entirety of my Mata-shali playlist, and then get distracted and forget to actually come back and answer it. It’s hard to pick just one since her playlist is one of the longest character playlists I’ve made (lots of brainrot for this girlie), but I think two that fit her experiences the best are Dig the Crazy - Faith Marie and In The Next Life - Kim Petras. As for whether or not Mata-shali would like them… she probably wouldn’t care much either way. She tends towards either very discordant “music” or folk dance music, and I doubt she’d really pay attention to either song enough to draw any sort of connection between herself and them.
32. Pet peeves? What's the one (or more) thing(s) that someone could do to instantly piss them off? [Ahad]
The real question is what doesn’t piss off Ahad honestly. He’s the grumpiest person you’ll ever meet in your life, so just about anything will get a glare or an annoyed sigh from him, but there are definitely some things that will instantly get under his skin. Any attempt to lecture him about his drinking or cut him off for the night will instantly have him pissed at you. Alcohol is the only semi-comfort this man has left and you better pray some other god helps you if you try and take it away from him. Another huge pet peeve is just. Any sort of PDA. Maybe a bit ironic given his history as a deity of love, but in recent years he’s come to absolutely despise seeing happy couples flaunting their relationships. He is… still extremely bitter after his own failed relationship.
22. Any embarrassing tattoo/scar stories? [Remy]
Every scar story is an embarrassing scar story for Remy! Or, they would be if he ever got embarrassed about them. They’re certainly always from some stupid stunt he pulled or fight he accidentally got into, but easily his dumbest scar is his missing finger on his right hand. I mean, in fairness to him the mafia that he was a part of is known for being extremely unforgiving of mistakes. And it’s really not his fault that the caravan of goods he was supposed to help protect was outnumbered and stopped by city guards on the way to one of the mafia safehouses. And sure, maybe Remy was supposed to pretend to be the only one who knew about the drugs and take the fall for it but he forgot and instead almost ratted out the leader of the caravan, so after they finally managed to escape the guards he ended up losing a finger as punishment. But easily the worst part is that it’s only after they had chopped off his finger that he realized they were a literal mafia group and he was a part of it.
23. The story they'd only tell when drunk off their ass? [Opal]
Opal would rather pick fights than swap stories while extremely drunk, but he’s definitely got some good ones if you can get him to focus enough to tell them!
Definitely one of the sillier (and more embarrassing) ones would be the time Opal [extremely drunk at the time] got extremely jealous and challenged Ace [also extremely drunk] to a fight for Jabari’s affection. Except Ace is too drunk to get through a proper incantation to cast anything more than a cantrip and Opal doesn’t have his arcane focus on him, so the two spend several minutes unsuccessfully “fighting” (aka insulting each other and making an occasional grab) before Ace finally manages to get one of his fire-based spells off at the exact same time that Opal decides the only valid weapon nearby is a rather large bottle of alcohol. Long story short, Ace lights the bottle as it’s being thrown at them, which sprays flaming alcohol all over the place and nearly burns the entire tavern down. Jabari ends up dragging them both out after apologizing profusely to the owner for the idiocy of her two companions, both of whom have already been dating her for several months and had absolutely no need to compete in the first place.

Who's that marvel dude you're obsessed with. Scott?
YEAH I LOVE HIM and also hi I'm back
First Impressions:
So I think I first remember being aware of Scott in X-Men Evolution (though, really, it would’ve been the movies, but my mind is BLANK from that), and like. I loved Scott. I’ve pretty much always liked Scott. But then…something happened, see. And that something was Gambit. And I completely forgot about Scott completely because, like, Remy existed, and he was catnip to Young Me and the only thing I cared about, hahahaha.
Impression now:
Oh my god, I love him so much. Apologies to Gambit (I still love him, ngl, he my no 2), but like Scott is bar none the very best character in all X-Men. Nay, in all Marvel, I might even be tempted to say. (No, actually, Matt might be a more solidly consistent character) Whatever, he’s my favourite. Would murder for him. I would kill SO many characters for him, he deserves the world. #Cyclopswasright
Honestly, I was bored one day and my mind was like “hmmm, I used to really love Cyclops, but I haven’t seen or read him in a while, I wonder why not” and went on, like, full deep binge reading mode about…four? Years ago??? And reread everything, and read a lot that I had not yet read, and by the time I came out of that binge he was once more firmly reestablished as my number one fav. Everything about him! He’s a big ball of anxiety. So much trauma!!! His backstory is SO TRAGIC, I swear he has the most fucked up backstory out of all the main X-Men.
Scott's the ultimate get shit done guy. He won't necessarily like what he does, but he'll do what needs to be done. He tries to stay as morally upright as he can, and he's really the core and the heart of the X-Men. When others have left, Scott never really has except when he's super lost (largely after Jean dies) because his whole life is the X-Men. He represents what they should be at any given moment, and he's the best leader they have.
I love him.
Favorite moment:
Oh, so many. Every time Larraz draws him using his powers, for one. Every time he wore cut off booty shorts back in the 80s. One upping Captain America. But honestly I will have to go with this one, which to me is the essence of Scott Summers and who he is:
Tumblr media
Idea for a story:
Way too many to count. I have so many half-finished on my computer. The one that’s my favourite is probably the crack fic where Scott and Remy team up to try and murder Sinister together. They deserve it.
Unpopular Opinion:
Scott is not super closed off!! He’s not! He’s actually quite open and obvious about how he feels most of the time with regards to his personal life!!!!! He’s ALWAYS SAYING how he feels to the people close to him, and if he’s not, they’re at least BLATANTLY AWARE of it because they know him well enough to tell!! They just ignore him! Constantly! Every single time!! Except, like, Wolverine, funny enough.
My other unpopular opinion is that Scott is not? A cheater? He left Maddie because she told him to leave, and he constantly tried to get back in contact with her until he finally came back and thought she was dead. He didn’t even try to get back with Jean until after he saw Maddie’s “dead body” which was set up for him to find. And he went to Emma for help with things between him and Jean, and Emma dressed up as Jean in his mind for the whole psychic affair, which consistently showed him getting more uncomfortable with it until he tried to call things off. There’s a lot about New X-Men that I hate, but the one thing I do agree with is Jean tearing Emma apart for taking advantage of Scott. He was traumatized, and everyone knew it, and Emma jumped on that opportunity to get what she wanted with no regard for him. Also, important to remember that as good as their relationship turned out (thanks to good writers), Scott didn’t decide to get with Emma after Jean died. Scott decided to leave, but future!Jean reached back in time to change his mind and get him with Emma. It was telepathic shenanigans, and it was ultimately fucked up. There was not at all a lot of real consent in the beginning of his relationship with Emma.
Favorite relationship:
The impossible question. All of them? None of them? Scott needs a break from telepaths, but also Emma and Jean are both perfect for him. Logan and Scott have been in love, lbr. The polycule is DEFINITELY the ideal, and Marvel needs to stop being cowards and be more explicit (even though they’ve honestly been much more explicit than I ever at all expected from them.)
Scott/Ororo is also GREAT and COMPLETELY UNEXPLORED. I’m still angry about Bloodstorm, they promised to give me everything I wanted and then MURDERED HER on their DATE. That was so fucked up, I just want Scott and Ororo to make out a little, is that such a hard ask? They both deserve it! But aside from that, I do also really, really, really love their friendship and their general vibe with each other.
Then, of course, Scott+Prof X is one for the ages. Complicated. Scott deserved to kill Prof X, I will maintain.
Oh, wait, no. My favourite Cyclops relationship at all?
Scott+Sinister. It’s so, so fucked up. Mr Sinister is somehow creepier to Scott as an adult than he ever was as a child, and that’s saying something. Dude needs to stop caressing Scott’s face and talking about Scott’s baby-making (but also I’m gonna need him to keep doing that, and Krakoa has taken that from me. Not pleased, me. How has Scott not expressed any discontent about Sinister being on the Quiet Council??? That is not the kind of thing he would just go along with, but haha, what is continuity, am I right).
Favorite headcanon:
Not really so much a headcanon as a thought, but since orphanages are outdated, Mr Sinister as Scott’s foster parent is an idea that’s been sitting in my mind because it would fit more with the way that timeline fits with the culture change, and I think it has the potential to be even more potentially fucked up.
Also, Scott and Logan were definitely fucking during Utopia, what can I say.
