Although he finds your white feathers beautiful he also feels threatened

The pure reason for this is power

Hes been a star student for so long,the best of the best and you show up and have more power than him

Other than oogway he hasnt seen such powerful chi before

He brings his jombies out every so often to spice things up

However in the end he still technically got what he wanted,just differently

Hi! Its musa :) This is kinda random but i suddenly came up with hc’s on how to LI’s live. (With the correct pronouns😭)

Mhin

- i think mhin has a small appartment somewhere in lowtown. Its likely relatively nice bc Leander helped finding it. Leander offered paying the rent but mhin refused.

- Mhin has the absolute minimal amount of necessities in his living space. They likely dont rlly stay there much (only to sleep, eat, and wash). I think mhin prefers doing smth bc they seem rlly restless to me. They probs dont consider their appartment a home. They have added extra locks on the door tho.

- They dont clean a lot, but the place doesnt get dirty either bc they dont use it much. So its overal quite clean

- Maybe they have a bit of a shiny shit hoard somewhere idk (crow stuff)

- They own some cat toys and items to take care of them. I think mhin occasionally takes care of strays when the animals get sick.

Ais

- he lives in the building by the seaspring

- The floors are probs tatami,, so he has to take of those boots hahaha

- Ais probably only has a minimal amount of furniture, but a lot of small items he’s collected (maybe stuff he kept from those choosing to drink from the spring, as a memento :(

- I think the place is a bit messy. He arranges/cleans as it strikes his fancy,, he doesnt have a strict routine

- He probs tries to keep his place relatively neat tho. Ais seems like he tries to take care of his mental health (not isolating himself,, beating ppl to stave off the rage. Hes not the best at it tho) so its an organized mess but a mess still.

- The style of the home is likely classic japanese? I think the furniture is probs pretty old and shows some signs of aging

- I think he sleeps in a futon. Maybe princess sometimes naps with him there :)

Vere

- vere is caged, but its evidently a golden cage (proof: his fit)

- He lives in a fancy place in hightown and doesnt pay rent. He doesnt own the place,, its provided by the senobium. He likely doesnt live in a complex with normal folks tho,, i dont think they would like that. So its likely a senobium building or just a small home. (Still larger than an appartment)

- The place is kept quite clean,, vere is fussy about that

- The place is like a fancy hoarder house (think howls room in the ghibli movie). Idk i just think he has at least one hoarder room filled with a bunch of fancy stuff

- He has place dedicated to art in his place

- His bed is rlly comfy with a lot of pillows

- Everything smells nice

- Theres probably some chewing marks on some of the furniture,, a product of a shitty shift :(

Leander

- if he owns a normal appartment , then its not where he rlly ‘lives’ and is just for show

- ‘Living’ is a relative term. He sleeps and washes in his surface appartment. Hes probably thoroughly enchanted the place to keep out intruders so he feels save staying the night there (plus hes arrogant)

- But leander lives when others can see him, so he has no connection to the place and he kinda hates being there

- I think leander has a hidden living space, maybe underground or connected to his fake home somehow. Or he has a secret room or smth

- His fake living space is perfect but quite standard. The hidden place is an absolute mess. Like a depression hole.

- Its full of stuff but its all functional. A lot of books and artifacts. The place is messy and not rlly clean tbh. Leander would rather research or train instead.

- I think we’re gonna find this place and hes gonna lock us in here or smth <3 (swoons)

Kuras

- kuras doesnt need to eat, sleep, or wash,, so its just a place to be alone and relax a bit

- He does have a bed and all that stuff, but he doesnt use it much

- The place is rlly neat and clean. Its also quite minimalist but it feels warm somehow (its kuras himself :)

- I think his place somehow gets a lot of sun despite its placement. Like in a supernatural way

- He has a lot of books, some medical, some on history (he stole them from the senobium library)

- He has a hidden endearing side, but i wonder how that will manifest. I think he has a hidden plushy collection bc he thinks toys are fascinating or smth :)

I love the idea that mhin has a stash of shiny shit like a crow lol. And that theyd reason its for emergency money purposes or sth. I also picture leander's real room would be "damn bitch, you live like this?" levels of catastrophic, like a tornado hit it. Thank you for these hcs

Half baked thought with holes probably but the irony of right wingers and doomer boomers who sit there and talk abt how Society Today has lost value of Art and if you asked them what their favorite classical song is theyd be stumped, much less would they be able to name 3 classical composers and stay how their style differed from eachother

Along this though, if youd ask them if they ever heard of one-winged angel and theyd ALSO be stumped, the name "nobuo uematsu" means nothing to them.

Theres of course a lot of mainstream ppl who dont know nobuo uematsu, but i always felt like a large majority of "society has declined" reactors often look at anyone who spends their time on social media and plays video games as "proof"

Theres a lot of ppl today who cant name classical artists or know what styles they had but thats just like. just how common was that something to begin with? you're telling me everyday ppl in the 18th century just knew bach and mozart? we def have more accessibility now but you dont HAVE to appreciate older art to appreciate art. theres no inherent value to listening to vivaldi and being amazed vs. listening to an album made today and being amazed

PSA AI ART CAN LOOK LIKE ANY ART!!!

People keep sending troll asks about why I do this. It is important to do because I did not realize before and I think so many people not realize AI art can look EXACTLY like human art. I find art posts and even REBLOG and later find out theyre AI??? It happen to me in MULTIPLE FANDOMS and I am TIRED. I thought AI art was ugly monsters with black hole for eyes but now it tricks us into believing it is a real art. There are warnings sighs but most of all, because is so close to a truly human creation, there is no way to be sure without video. I see @azula-brain post and it give helpful clues, which is why I ASK PROOF AND DO NOT ACCUSE just warning signs I have pointed out and the rest of us can look for is too different styles, too fast improvement, lots of posting, trouble drawing hands, and smudgey watercolor styles. I also seen AI art using chibi and simple desighs with very simple eyes so that can help too.

I AM NOT TRYING TO ATTACK we just need to be careful with how close AI mimics to real human arts. AI even can do musics and voices and videos now. THIS IS A GROWING PROBLEM SO THERE NEEDS TO BE A BETTER SOLUTION. I think video proof is a good solution but nobody has sent video proof. What are other solutions??? I DONT WANT ARGUING I JUST WANT A SOLUTION. I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO GET A JOB AS AN ARTIST IN A FUTURE LIKE THIS!!!!!! Do you see the problem? AI art being advnaced to where we CANNOT TELL ANYMORE IS DANGEROUS.

wait you HATED sweet pool omg. its my least fave out of the n+c releases ive read so far mainly for how flat the characters felt to me and how clumsy a lot of the plot felt but i rlly loved the aesthetic/general vibe it had so thats rlly interesting to me,if ur up for it id love to know what didnt click for u ^_^

when i judge how bad a VN is with my brother (avid VN reader as well) we use Sweet Pool as a basically "zero" on the scale of professional, large VNs.

Sweet Pool's writing was WEIRD. I can do some weird, thats fine. Weird ass-birth stillborn meatslugs? ... okay, ill... look past that. ok i wont lie, the constant ass-birth was hard for me. i really did try to not judge it on that but like, there was almost constant buttbirth going on. ive made peace with this by now, kinda making a link to myself about the connections of it to being an unintentional trans narrative in many ways and all but like. it was WEIRD. and kinda hard to read. it didnt strike me as horror, it struck me as "weird fetish i have to sit through. oh my god is he licking tha- PUT IT DOWN Z-DAWG. Ok christ."

The characters were also weird. I laughed out loud in surprise at how stupid the "i saved you from being raped <3 SO I CAN RAPE YOU, PSYCH!" scene was. like wtf was that??????

i did not enjoy the art style, i think its the ugliest N+C art style yet and since. not my thing. many angles and proportions look weird. the CGs looked stiff and uninspired. it NEVER grew on me. no shade to people who liked it or the artist it just.. wasnt my thing. not unbearable but just. not. as good as it could have been and def took away from the experience.

i didnt like any of the endings. it wasnt scary it was weird. the pacing was weird. for being a BL, it had very little love just... wtf. and im so sad abt what they did to mikoto bc i liked him before uuuUuUuUu yandere plot twwwwist. bleh.... dollar store keisuke! they would FORCE the true end so you maybe go, "maybe the true end is satisfying and good an-" no. its not. fuck yoU!

sweet pool was painful. i dont know how else to put my experience. i 100%d it because i 100% everything when i can, and i was literally pushing through like a hiker in a snow storm to finish it. every 3 seconds was secondhand embarrassment. the "jerking off in the classroom" scene comes to mind. i got up and took a break for that one because it was just unbearable. idk how anyone could slap one out to this vn. im not sure if anyone ever has. which makes the sex weird. actually, i dont think there was a single consensual ero scene unless u count the true end fusion scene.

the aesthetic/vibe was... ehhh... not super unique IMO. school setting immediately put me off, a more gritty and cool toned, dark palate made things interesting but, its still a "weird thing happens in high school" story. kinda bored to death of HS settings in VNs.

i did like the protag tho! he was interesting and it was nice having a chronically ill protag even if it was just a plot device to make him be able to miss school while going on a... dark apartment birth marathon.

sweet pool felt like a bizarre, amateur fanfiction for a fetish i dont have.

the soundtrack is very memorable as well as the opening pre-game sequence, i liked the concept of the choice button meanings, but they were very rough in actual use.

this is my favorite CG i appreciate the aquarium set up instead of a fish bowl (though he could do better...)

(shame about them turning into meat popcorn tho...)

i liked the iguana lol

i didnt care about these guys so much i dont even remember their names most of the time. except zenya. i liked him cus hes so cute and batshit crazy and has intersex swag.

ive been watching this like... dime a dozen hulu original adult animated sitcom called Krapopolis about ancient greece and mythology (vaguely?) that is by no means any good. i will say right off the bat that it's more than a little cringeworthy and clunky in both writing and art style but theres just barely enough humor and the tiniest scrap of heart in it that i have to keep watching it

theres this one character design in particular though.

its time for my hippocampus rant. im fixated on him in particular and he's basically the only reason im still watching the show in the first place 🥹

its especially frustrating because theres so many different aspects of his character and concept that are intriguing to me, but none of them are executed in a good way. its like... you had a good idea and you lost me with the design.

hippocampus is an inventor and scientist who invented a mobility aid that allows him, a hybrid fish person, to live and navigate on land where he otherwise wouldn't be able to... obviously he has other character traits but that's the jist of it.

the one thing i really like about his character design is that his mobility aid is so practical. it makes sense and is uniquely tailored to his body and what he needs. i also love how cohesive it is, i think its clever how the big metal neck peice ties the whole thing together and is sort of reminiscent of an old-timey diving suit, while also hiding his weird neck.

the main problem i have is with. the face

i feel like he suffers bigtime from cartoon blobfish face syndrome. the lips and nose are enough proof for me. and whats with the fin/tail on the back of the head..?? it definitely gets across the idea that he's a fish, but it still feels lazy and definitely doesnt add anything to his design lol. not to mention the hair fin. and the buck teeth????

its not perfect but sketched a little bit of a redesign(?) i lost steam halfway through and will probably never finish it but i just needed to get some ideas down. i was thinking for his weird blobfish nose situation it could be more like a cicilid's "kok", where its less of a nose and more of just a protrusion in place of a nose?

as for his teeth i could imagine they could be similar to a parrotfish's beak (and maybe be used in a similar way? it would be neat if he had a different diet than his siblings)

that concludes my hippocampus rant. dont watch krapopolis its not very good

More side order criticism and complaining that you are under no obligation to read

I get that side order was a roguelike which apparently tend to be short? Idk ive never played one before but anyway that still doesnt justify the initial hype, the blatant change in aesthetics and plot (remember the first trailer? And the second trailer i think with the lobby doors looking VERY different and matching what we saw in the concept art trailer) almost last second fnaf security breach style, and the amount of stupid shit that happened throughout most of splatoon 3s lifespan since SUPPOSEDLY the games only gonna be getting updates for like, what, 2 more seasons? And its like wow we waited all this time and went through so much shit for a story thats hardly even a story. Once you unlock everything its just. Prlz grinding for gear to get.

It was fun! It was enjoyable! But it sucked and it wasnt worth all of that. Unfortunately i care a lot about splatoons lore and they didnt really go anywhere with what little lore they did have. They also contradicted themselves multiple times for a net zero lore gain anyway. This is about the whole memories """subplot""", if you can even call it that. It really was just "pearl and marina and also this other random irrelevant character talk to each other while you stand there and stare at them from the background" simulator and its like. Thats it? Thats the story? Thats what i waited through all the bullshit for? And then they make you think that there is more, actually, because they keep leading up to something, and then nothing happens. Like okay what was that for.

The gameplay was quick and easy because thats just my skill level. I didnt find it difficult. If youre good at salmon run then chances are youre good at side order. Theres nothing else to be done about that. Im not gonna play bad on purpose for a chance at a challenge. That isnt fun. I just wish the game was rewarding and to me the lore is the reward but... when you think about it literally at all nothing that marina did all this for shows any proof of having worked. She still has to hack her own vr world to do anything with it. Order, now smollusk, is still very much in control. They dont show you anything memory-related actually changing or being affected. They just say it happened and act like thats all there should be to it. And if they were gonna focus on memories, why did they make this whole thing about how bystanders can accidentally be sucked in and then do literally nothing with that? Why not show an actual change in the actual inkopolis square? Why murch of all characters to get a pallet. Why not involve iso padre, whos in inkopolis square now (im very happy about that), who had also lost his memories and was an established character that we could actually interact with in the previous game? It just doesnt add up. Like sorry that i expected good storytelling, its just this is the same people who made octo expansion and they keep trying to one-up octo expansion and they keep falling flat on their face because they keep thinking the gameplay is what made octo expansion so good when it was also the plot and the lore and the worldbuilding that added so much to it so i thought "this time for sure" especially with everything they showed us in the first trailer.

Again, i know it was all concept art, but surely it wouldnt be fair to show off so much only for the final product to be almost nothing like it? Surely if they werent set on the story then they wouldve waited longer to be realeasing trailers and announcing dlc in the first place? Surely it makes sense to expect what was shown. I dont get why theres some people who think everyone had too high expectations. Like its literally just a matter of if you think about any of it literally at all and actually care about it any way more than barebones surface level stuff literally at all then its natural to expect more.

do you have any advice for artists who feel like their art is getting worse and dont know where to start with progression again?

Mmmm that’s a mood and honestly I’ve never really figured out a good trick for that

Usually when you think your art is getting worse, it’s not that your skills are deteriorating, but rather your perception is getting better— you’re picking up on more and more of the flaws in your current art, which is great for improvement! But very discouraging haha

So I would say, maybe try a few challenges? Go out of your comfort zone and try something you wouldn’t usually draw to reset your palette. For me this tends to be landscape studies and realism! Sometimes you also need to do a bit of exploring to make a breakthrough in your art progression!

Alternatively, you could also find an old drawing that you’re unsatisfied with and redraw it in your current style for visible proof of your improvement. That’s all I can think of right now though. Hope this helps!

Some Thoughts re: the 6's core desire

So it struck me in the light of recent discourse that when we think of 6, we think more of what the individual doesn't want to happen (to be a coward, to have no clue what to do on your own) than what it is that they're seeking.

Like we typically think of 1 as "the one that wants to be moral", 2 as "the one that wants to be liked", 9 as "the one who wants to be connected & at peace" etc. but someohow 6 is the scaredy cat type?

All the types have both desired things and outcomes they want to avoid. & there are effects at work self-fulfilling prophecies, enantiodromia, overcompensation etc through which one can shoot themselves in the foot, but still ultimately, a 6 is a person who wants to avoid being a scaredy cat. (So no wonder they all loathe the descriptions!)

Now part of this may be because 6 is a negative type & hence perceptions of absence, lack & insufficiency would predominate, but, we dont really think of 4 as the "boring insignificant pedandic" type or of 5 as the "deer in the headlights" type (though the latter would have moments where its accurate...)

Then it occurred to me that it may be the switcheroo thing.

Let me elaborate:

One thing that happens with 6s is that inside & outside stuff can get flipped - There are the classic examples of interpreting stuff as signs of cheating because youre jealous or taking other people's words as trash talk when you're feeling insecure, but there is also a reverse of this where a person seeks out in admired figures good traits that they themselves would like to have while maybe not realizing the extent to which they have said good trait themselves.

Cordon has like the sober realistic take on that in his 6 writeup; In Maitri's book she does this thing where she maps each of the types to some supposed aspect of the divine which such a person would wish to experience, embody and in a sense offer to others.

For the 6 its a sense of strength, courage, and grounded solidity and the kind of empowerment that coes from alingment with the truth (personal or universal), a theme that i certainly notice in art or inspirational speeches. It may not exist as an aspect of the divine but perhaps as an "obscure sorrow". While reading the text I was strongly reinded of the 6 athlete/motivational speaker guy that the BHE dudes did a video on & that speech thingy he gave.

It's the counterpoint to... not so much your destructibility & animal nature itself (thats more 5) but what being destructible & an animal might lead you to do. like cracking under pressure 1984 style or, missing some important danger because you're fallible, being blamed & accused...

Interestingly, here too there is a switcheroo - that the type 6 person either wants to be this ideal of strenght & courage themselves, or looks for a person or a belief that they connect with that ideal.

So, do we have the basic desire right even? Is it not as much to be strong & courageous yourself than to find a source of strenght? 'Courageous' is probably the best word, because it could imply both intellectual integrity & fortitude of character.

It's probably a nonsensical question, the split attention between inside & outside is itself the characteristic thing. 6 flipflops between "outside good, inside bad" and its opposite (whereas in 5 and 7 it's strongly fixed in one direction... )

If you have both they reinforce each other, they become part of the same thing, if you think of yourself existing in context.

The line blurs with the 'hyper-logical' 6s solid belief system & put it inside themselves to apply it & thereby become self-reliant.

Like even 6s that aren't tough feel they should be. (however the individual defines strenght - doesn't have to be the traditional macho way - could also be intellectual or moral.)

If you look at 6s on average, there is probably a higher rate of being resilient, disaster proof, sporty, street smart, knowing martial arts, having practical resourcefulness, or smelling bullshit a mile away.

An "authoritarian follower personality" isn't something anyone is born with - contrary to pessimistic 20th century conclusions about human nature, nowdays its believed to be a damage that happens if your parents over-control you as a teenager.

But like, my point is, the basic desire might be to be to be courageous & have inner solidity as it is to find solidity on the outside. Having friends and knowing your shit basically helps you be brave. Having strong allies puts you in a position of strenght.

Because of the switcherroo thing you might feel the others have the strenght you want - or rather, you will be on the lookout for it. Obviously the evil power structures of the world are not all imagined.

i mean, compare it with the other types - their desire can usually be summarized more as some desirable-sounding adjective ("righteous", "loveable", "worthy", "meaningful/deep", "capable/insightful", "free/happy", "autonomous/vital", "peaceful") than an external thing to have.

Why would 6 alone be about "fellating other people", as one poster so succintly put it?

but of course 6 has the split inner/ outer attention & the context focus, so its no surprise that there is an "outside" formulation of what it wants.

Actually all the Compliant types could be consider to have this "external cope" thing going on - 2 wants to feel loveable so to get that others must love them. 1 wants to feel aligned & "right" so they create order the environment.

It's also worth considerin how all the factors are connected.

Eg. 5 would tend to have that particular fear of the whole deer-in-the-headlights, cant-deal-at-all situation cause thats more likely to happen if you gpt a sensitive, easily startled disposition & little access to instinctive snap judgements. Having a clue of wtf is going on prevents that, so it seems attractive.

2 would have a fear of being unloveable cause they'd have an especially strong desire for love & connection, so you'd try to win it by acting all loveable. On the other hand having a strong desire for (and capacity for) love isn't bad! I guess even in the 5 example, introversion comes from having a higher baseline "activity level", so, the "overprocessing everything" might've come first, & that can be useful in some ways too. having a big imagination is fun!

Likewise the 6s ability to keep both the inner & outer world in view, to both observe someone's face & theorize about what it means, is actually an useful strenght. But the flipflopping & re-questioning of everything may leave you not knowing what to do & then starting to freak out about that, which you'd want to avoid. & hence you'd desire this sense of courage to make decisions. But the great mental energy & flexibility might've come first.

Tl; DR: The desire of 6 might be better formulated as to be brave, courageous and strong enough to withstand danger & adversity.

there is probably a bit of a sp bias in here and I anticipate that you guys are gonna want to nitpick & refine the specifics & terminology somewhat - just throwing this out there so ya'll can play with it.
