I have so many thoughts about the Teen Wolf Movie. Most of them are just what the fuck
My biggest thought though is, killing Derek in front of his child, by way of fire, who thought that was a good idea? That is the most traumatic experience for literally everyone involved. Including the people watching, we know what fire did to Derek, it took his whole family. It isn’t poetic to kill him with fire, it is cruel and unusual. I am going to be ignoring that as canon, along with most the plot of the movie
Next, you're telling me that Mason and Liam don’t interact at all through this whole movie? Best friends for life and they don’t hug once after almost dying, that's the dumbest shit I have ever seen. Immediately erased from canon in my mind. Speaking of Mason, a cop, really? They couldn’t think of another reason to keep him around Beacon Hills? Also where was his personality at?
We all know Eli was a half baked attempt to appease the audience for not having Stiles in the movie. Nothing against Vince, at all, but that character was written so exactly like Stiles that you would think Stiles raised him. But it seems like Stiles and Derek never see each other between the end of the show and the movie. Which is ridiculous.
I know not everyone is here for Sterek, so if you aren’t this is the end of this post for you. If you are a diehard sterek shipper though, you have to admit that this movie was clearly still eluding to the fact that writers know what they are doing with sterek. The scene where Derek is carrying Eli, giving off Stiles and Derek. The fact that Derek spent so much time working on Stiles jeep, and continued to keep it around for literal years. The fact that Eli knew there was a connection that his dad had to this jeep so when he wanted to annoy his dad he would steal that specific vehicle. Eli going out into the woods to follow Scott and the others like Stiles would have done without question. Sheriff Stilinski and the rest of the police department helping raise Eli, what was that about? What was the Sheriff always the one around to talk with Eli, especially during the funeral scene? Giving Eli Stiles old car, especially because we know the significance that jeep had for Stiles for 6 fucking seasons of the show. There are too many parallels to count. I will be erasing this movie from my mind now, I had too many feelings to get down first though

Toby, Jeff, and Clockwork Friendship Headcanons ✨✨
- They’re childhood friends! They met as kids and were thick as thieves until both Jeff and Natalie moved away from Colorado only to find each other again in the manor.
- They are all individually smart people but when put in a room together it’s like their brain cells cancel out and they become the dumbest, most reckless people you ever meet.
- To be more specific, Toby and Natalie are like “let’s do this thing that will get us in trouble.” Jeff tries to be the responsible one only to get himself roped in as well.
- They’re all very cuddly and physically affectionate, and it had lead to people assuming they at least two of them, if not all three of them are together.
- Toby and Natalie did actually date for a bit when they were like 12, but they simply realized that they work better as friends.
- They were each other’s first kiss, and they both still look back on that one memory fondly. The light happiness knowing the first kiss was by someone who loves them. Platonic love sure, but it’s still love. That means something to both of them.
- Toby and Jeff also had an awkward period of “do I just like him as a friend or is it something more?” It did ultimately end up being platonic feelings. It was just a matter of neither of them having had a healthy connection with a peer before, so it was confusing for a while.
- Fights are rare between the three of them mainly because once they do get in one, it’s easy to break the tension. Normally because one of them says something dumb that makes the other two laugh and then all is good.
- They started a band in middle school. It was Toby’s idea and despite the other two not being all that passionate about music, they agreed for Toby’s sake. It only lasted a week, but they did get to perform at the school’s talent show at least.
- Their love language for each other is bullying. They can literally throw the nastiest insults to each other. But don’t act like you can do that same cause they will most likely beat you up for it.
- To this day, Jeff and Natalie are very protective of Toby since he was the target of some really intense bullying back in school. It’s actually the source of some of those rare conflicts as Toby has felt like they baby him despite the fact that he is very capable of taking care of himself.
- They have a matching pokeball tattoo because the three of them first met and bonded over their love of Pokemon.

it is time to be old on the internet: TFP Ratchet's hatred of 2010 era human tech is hilarious
every time Ratchet complains about shitty human technology in TFP, it's so funny to me, that shit is so good
because, I mean, I grew up with the first computer in my house being a fucking Tandy 1000, which to be fair wasn't exactly the hottest model even then, but still LMAO
the first modem I ever messed with as a kid was the wood box phone receiver type, the acoustic coupler ones, which was my dad's, and he only had it because his job at a local university meant he could borrow one from their tech lab (so we didn't technically own it)
if I remember correctly, the one we had ran at 300 baud, which was fucking amazing for such a set up at the time. slightly later AOL dial up looked like lightning speed compared to that shit.
my first chat rooms were BBS/Usenet (whenever I could connect) and IRC chats. now everyone has Discord and I still don't understand how that shit works lmao but that's more of a me problem and less of an age problem, I think
we got dial up (in the "modern" sense of it being AOL dial up service with the infamous hell noises) in my household in 1994, back when it was pretty much a brand new thing (at least for AOL), and I remember the Eternal September Usenet rush, lmao
imagine if TFP took place in the 80s/90s, oh my god
(I'm assuming TFP takes place in roughly 2010 because that's when the show premiered, and Miko has some kind of Razr-inspired flip phone, so if we assume it's supposed to be based on the first model of Razr, then at the earliest that places the show in 2004)
Ratchet would have gone completely insane with old school internet capable consumer level human tech
Ratchet: "How do I look at photos on this monitor?"
80s Raf: "what"
Ratchet: "what"
oh god now I want an 80s/90s TFP AU so fucking bad. imagine 80s Raf. it's so good
oh god, IMAGINE 90s RAF. just getting traumatised by terrifying shitty mid-90s FMV horror games. this poor boy. but imagine his hype when the PS1 would come out in the USA in 1995. the hype would be so fucking real. lmao
also for those of you who are Younger and Blessed With Good Internet From An Early Age, if you want a good idea of old school internet shit, go ahead and watch WarGames (1983) and look up 2600 Magazine and Mondo 2000 if you don't already know about those.
(personally I consider WarGames and Hackers (1995) to be the two best simultaneously dumbest and best movie depictions of computer bullshit in their respective eras, although Hackers was more of a thing that informed cyber culture after it released rather than reflecting actual hacker culture as it was at that exact time but anyway, please watch them if you have not seen them already, you will love this shit lmao)
I assume almost all of you already know about this stuff, but just in case, I want to mention it. those two movies are really good. lol
anyway, Ratchet dealing with early internet. early shitty human tech. or at least the 90s shit. imagine Ratchet having to listen to the fucking dial up screeching. the kids having to look through geocities webrings to see if any images of the bots had been leaked on any conspiracy websites. just 10/10 lmaooo
"I hate talking to machines" Ratchet, buddy, you have NO IDEA how bad it could have been!!!
anyway I'm old, I guess that's the point of this post LOL

Japan's demisexual agenda continues in this show and, honestly, I don't mind. I enjoy the idea of One True Love as long as it isn't everywhere and Japan does it well. Especially with lots of these moments and lots of very good, very deep, emotional connections that make the idea of that One Love being the only one that fits make sense.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But also both Kazuma and Ren are struggling with the past all the time and they each only know their perspective on it and they've both got twisted ideas about the other person based on that past... it makes even more sense that neither of them has ever fallen in love again because they've never given up the past, they've never even begun to think past that first time they fell in love and had sex and that's where it all stopped for both of them even though life and time kept marching on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I really do love Kazuma. He's so, so deeply in love and he will do anything if it means finding Ren again because he isn't going to let go of him this time, he will not let him go, he will not be deterred and he will not be stopped. He has found his love and he isn't letting anything or anyone, including the person he loves, destroy that.
Tumblr media
I welcome our long drink of a man with enough sass for his height and the same kind of protective streak that everyone else in this show has over the people they love.
Knowing that Ren is prone to panic attacks and that Yagami has been there beside him for a decade when he was apart from Kazuma and that he's been watching Ren try to get back to Kazuma for this entire time is just... it's intense, honestly, to imagine the act of loving someone who does not love you and who not only does not love you but seems utterly incapable of loving anyone but the one person he's already chosen.
Ren imprinted on Kazuma and no one else can take that place. Luckily Kazuma also imprinted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Trauma fucks you up, y'all. It fucks you up deeply and it leaves you different and if you never face it, if you never share it, it only goes deeper.
Kazuma and Ren are each sides of the same coin. Kazuma will not let go but Ren is quick to release because he loves but he believes that all he can do is hurt.
But also this is just the dumbest thing. No wonder Yagami decides to talk to Kazuma where Ren is. Yagami understands what's going on even better than Ren does because he's seeing both of them, not just Ren seeing Kazuma.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pedestals everywhere. Japan loves putting a boy on a pedestal by another boy, it's their favorite and both Kazuma and Ren did that for the other. And, even now, only Kazuma is realizing how much he didn't and doesn't know while Ren is clinging to how he believes Kazuma is. They are the center of each other's universes but the way they spin around each other means they only see what they want to see and what they believe.
Kazuma blames himself for Ren leaving while Ren is desperately leaving Kazuma to protect him.
Kazuma is reaching out to Yagami in desperation, the same way Ren did, but he is a very different person with very different knowledge of the person he's calling and the person he loves.
Tumblr media
This tall drink of a cynical man who's watched Ren struggle with panic attacks and love for someone not even in his life for over a decade only to meet Kazuma and realize that he really, truly is as kind and innocent as Ren describes him and to realize that he both wants them to be together but also needs Kazuma to know all of what happened? Rough.
The sex talk is him pushing and pushing and pushing, trying to break Kazuma only to realize that he can't. He cannot shake Kazuma's unshakeable love for Ren any more than he can shake Ren's love for Kazuma.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this is the moment Yagami knows he's going to tell Kazuma everything. He's going to tell him the truth. Because Kazuma not only loves Ren but believes in him, believes in everything about him... and has the strength not just to say it but to declare it and will have the strength to stand beside him even as he does what he needs to do for the court case.
We've known it from the start but this is the moment that Yagami realizes that Ren is also wrong about Kazuma, that Kazuma is stronger and deeper than he seems.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The final test.
But also one that I am a little torn on. I would have loved for Kazuma to just say he was gay. Because I'd lean towards him being gay... but I also did go on the whole 'demisexuality is Japan's favorite trope' thing above and I do mean that.
Is Kazuma gay or is he solely and only ever attracted to Ren? Does it matter if he claims the identity that fits his relationship (gay) or his mind (Ren)? Is it gay for your if he says gender never mattered and it was only Ren? I know that demisexuality and asexuality can both be used 'in place of' gay for you in a way but where does this fall?
I do lean towards this being much more specific than gay for you because neither Kazuma nor Ren experiences any attraction or love for anyone else in their years apart but that's also just kind of the soulmates bit speaking up.
Regardless, Kazuma passes Yagami's test with flying colors. Because he sees the same love in Kazuma as he sees, and saw, in Ren.
Tumblr media
There is no pain like this. Nothing.
But also it's so hard because Kazuma was literally in a coma. He had no means to support Ren, to try to fight alongside him, to try to help him. He was an unconscious child who would have done anything to stop that from happening and the way Yagami seems to think he should have known better is very frustrating because no one else would ever expect that of him.
They were both children. They were both trapped. Neither one of them is to blame and neither one of them deserves the weight that was put on their shoulders for their actions. This is not about Kazuma and Ren, this is about the adults who failed them so thoroughly and acting as if Kazuma is to blame for any of Ren's pain is wrong.
But also those tears are SO pretty.
Tumblr media
Yagami, my tall dark drink of cynical water, he was a 15 year old in a coma who was whisked away to a different country when he woke up. How was he supposed to know anything?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this gives Kazuma a different perspective on the start of their relationship, the sex and the cuddling and everything as well as giving him what he needs to understand how much Ren loves him and to finally break that pedestal he kept him of perfection and worship.
Now he just needs to help Ren let him down as well so they can stand as equals.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A+ preview much hope is had.

I woke up today screeching
"THE TIMELINE! RAHHH THE TIMELINE!!!!"
I appreciate everybody enjoying my worldbuilding so here's a lil process moment.
Tumblr media
Sometime last year I put together a timeline for my AU. There's a few canon dates I wanted to keep, some I needed to tweak for dramatic purposes and because I do what I want. For instance, I decided Primo's reign starts in 1993. Whatever, they're a vintage-sounding band in Opus so it doesn't really matter. I figured out character ages, join dates, summoning dates, etc.
Then I started to notice some weird connections. Connections for plots!!! For drama!!!
My insane ranting below the cut, kudos to you for still being here. (TLDR: make a timeline for your characters and plots will appear!)
For instance: Marian joined in 2002. Was in a relationship with Secondo and his partner soon after. Secondo's son happened to be born in 2004. That could be a deal breaker. That could probably make Marian wanna break up with them. Secondo thinks the world revolves around him and Marian is a commitment phobe. PLOT DRAMAAA!
Ok, so when was Omega summoned? 2005. Terzo wanted to buy a gift for Omega. No idea yet why. Oh! 2006 is one year later, maybe Secondo got married then. Sure, ok he did, done! So commitment phobe Terzo is hit in the head repeatedly by a commitment ceremony. A story about commitment in the shadow of a big formal thing everyone is forced to participate in. That's how I came up with my domestic Terzomega "Ribbons and Ties". DRAMAAAA!
So my latest one came about after I posted my Papa Camino story with his death date on it: 1983
I decided for dramatic purposes Terzo runs away from home 1984-1986. Took me weeks to figure out why, but I did. And no I'm not telling why yet.
But how? How would he run away? And what would be the last straw?
Oh hey what if I had Camino die in 1984 instead and then the whole gang had to attend his funeral in New York City? Giant city to get lost in. To slip out when nobody notices. Sure, whatever, what's another year on this dude's life. Esp for drama. You're welcome.
Yes, a funeral would be the perfect place to contemplate your existence. And to see some fakers and shitheads be all weepy and performative. I've been there. I've seen it. Yeah this is a great environment for a "I can't take this anymore" major life decision.
I then thought of a scene where he just says "I can't take this anymore" and leaves. But we can't have him just say that to the wall. Somebody needs to hear. To once again ignore him. For drama. Who should he say that to? Who would be resistant enough to him wandering away AND pretty much powerless/too apathetic to stop it? (Aka bring the most drama possible?) Primo would convince him back, he's kind. Nihil would be like "hey sounds cool man happy trails" because he was a wanderer himself. Copia is too young to get it, and also they don't have a strong enough relationship. Who else? Who?
Secondo. Always goes back to that guy. I think because deep down he's the dumbest one of all. (At least when he's young and naive! He gets his redemption!)
And to be a little cagey, Secondo knows things in 1984 that Terzo doesn't. But can't say em if he ever wants to be Papa Emeritus. So...yeah he'd half listen to Terzo and then just let him leave. Let's throw that scene into this other fic I'm writing. Maybe it will motivate plot in the future. Will be subtext for a future conversation. Yes yes delicious drama!
So yeah this is how you go insane.

uhh. even more pjsk ocs story thoughts,,
Been thinking about how I wanna arrange all of that. I think the conflict of their main story would focus more on Fumi and Matsu. Of course, it's not focused ONLY on them. But it is kinda what's going to affect everyone else and what they have to solve initially. Does that make any sense at all idk. I've mentioned it somewhere before, but they *all* had some kind of connection to each other before coming together. I have the connections between Fumi and Matsu, Matsu and Toshiro, Toshiro and Fumi, Fumi and Seina, a little less Seina and Matsu pretty much thought out to a degree, but not Seina and Toshiro,, though I do have some ideas. I think I'm very close to figuring out their unit name too! I was right, i think it's easier for me to just figure it out as I go with the story.
Oh and I also wanted to talk about their pets,, Seina has a bunny! idk if I've ever mentioned it here, but this idea was in my head the moment I figured out what vibe I wanted her to have. It's a brown bunny named Puddle for a simple reason of Seina letting her sibling choose the name, lol. Everyone who's interacted with Puddle says that she's literally just like Seina. I think that's pretty silly and awesome. Toshiro has a cat. An orange cat. I think they kinda have a bit of an orange cat energy, so. All for the purpose of silliness,, the cat's name is Surfer, btw. For the dumbest reason possible – I'm making everything up as I go, and when I needed the name, I just looked around my room, and I have this Very Orange t-shirt that says something about surfers. So. That's just how it is now ig
Other than these two, Fumi doesn't have any pets and Matsu keeps fish (obviously). I haven't thought of what kind of fish yet, though. And you better believe I'm gonna be very serious and detailed about it. (I'm insane about fish too. Mostly about marine mammals still, but fish and bugs are also smth that makes my brain go weeewooooweeewooo)
ANYWAYS. I should really stop now eueue,,,,

OC Tag Game
Tagged by @raven-of-domain-kwaad, thank you! I'll be keeping it within SWTOR characters since I just focus on them here.
No pressure tag (if you feel like it): @vespertine-legacy, @astrifer-bound, @mmigrainee, @chaoticspacefam, @spitzobsessed
Favorite OC - Jett
Tumblr media
Not surprising. As much as I love my other characters (Auletta don't kill me), Jett just gotta be my favorite. Bounty hunter storyline being one of my favorites definitely affects this, but there is much more to this. She is this 'tough on the outside, softie on the inside' type of character that I just adore, I love her personal arcs about trauma, meaningful connections and leadership. And of course strong badass Mando women are just cool and get an instant liking from me :) I can go on for hours on this, but let's move on.
More under the cut.
Newest OC - Beirya and Zin
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I had more ideas for new characters after I made Rya and Zin, but they are not yet actual characters that I plan to develop. So these two are my newest at the moment.
Oldest OC - Auletta
Tumblr media
Technically, the first character I ever rolled in SWTOR was smuggler, but I didn't keep her in any way, so it's Auletta. Although she looked slightly different and was assassin instead of sorcerer in the game (which doesn't fit her background), the core of her character remained the same.
Meanest OC - Jaria
Tumblr media
It's a tough spot between some of my characters, but when others can be polite or maybe it's not their nature to be rude (they just do it for others reasons), Jaria is unapologetically mean to people almost all the time (only shutting up if it saves her skin or gives an advantage).
Softest OC - Shailla and Lorri
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(there are actually two more but I wanted to keep it short)
They are just so kind and gentle, striving to do more good in this imperfect galaxy. I mean, there is a reason why Lorri is often considered the heart of her little found family.
Most aloof/standoffish OC - Xaele and Jaria
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Xaele in general is pretty distant from the world and even her own actions, which fit well for agent's life. And Jaria is, honestly, pretty mistrusting, and after being separated from her sister, probably the only person she gave a Hutt about, Jaria couldn't form meaningful connections with other people, so she's a loner. Plus she's mostly interested in self-gain and money, and she doesn't care how she gets it.
Dumbest (affectionate) OC - Vintu
Tumblr media
Well, there may be others, but no one radiates chaotic dumbass energy like Vintu (yeah, not even smugglers, though they are close). Just look at his dumb face.
Smartest OC - Auletta and Elixess
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I would betray Auletta by not including her here. She is a quick learner, a schemer, always hungry for knowledge and information. She's very good at using all available knowledge and information to get the best out of her situation, whatever it might be (back in slavery, in Sith Academy, Dark Council, you name it). The only period when Auletta made kinda dumb decisions was around chapters 1 and 2 of Inquisitor storyline, mostly bc she was drunk on power and freedom, testing how far she can go. But when she failed to kill Thanaton for the second time, Auletta adapted and got the best out of it.
Elixess is similar in many ways, except she doesn't have the same malicious intent as Auletta and maybe not as nerdy. She is a quick thinker, which helps her talk her way out of most trouble and see possibilities for profit. Also, I just thought having a smuggler as one of the smartest characters is funny.
(actually, there are more characters who are on the same level, but I wanted to mention these two)
Horniest OC - Vintu and Jaria
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jaria just likes to flirt around and have one-night stands almost every time she visits a new place (Mako got tired of it real quick). Shame that bounty hunters don't have a lot of flirt options with NPCs other than companions. And Vintu... well, for my own sanity we have an agreement - he doesn't tell much about his private life, and I don't get to know much about it. Let's just say that when he's with Jaesa they are very active, and even after he's done with her, Vintu still hits on a lot of people.
OC you'd bang - none
I'm way too asexual for that.
OC you'd be best friends with - Raen and Alaine
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both of them are great friend material. Raen shares some of my interests (that weren't a bit of self-insert to begin with, no no), so she can tolerate a bit of infodumping about special interests from me. She's generally fun to be around, except for maybe when she's being chased by law enforcement or when she's sleeping. Plus we might have 'introvert adopted by an extrovert' dynamiс in a good way.
Alaine is someone I could trust to discuss a lot of complicated topics without being judged harshly. And she's a good person and a reliable friend in general, so great to have her as a friend. Alaine is more of "calls me out on my shit" friend, and Raen is more of "tags along with my shit" friend, and I definitely need both these types of friends.

Zone Of Interest Review
Tumblr media
I was surprised my theater got this. The only thing I knew about it before it arrived was that it was nominated for best picture. When we finally got it in, I learned what it was about and I got worried. I thought the movie was gonna ask us to sympathize with the Nazis because they felt really really bad about all the genocide.
What's The Movie About?
The movie follows the director of Auschwitz and his family as they live next to the worst of the crimes against humanity ever committed.
What I Like.
The cinematography was slick. It had a very stark staging that leaves the audience detached from the characters and kind of reminded me of a Paranormal Activity movie. There were a couple sequences as well that looked neat because they inverted the colors. And they didn't ask me to sympathize with a Nazi, that's good.
What I Didn't Like.
NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENS IN THIS MOVIE. Seriously. It's pretty much just simple mundanity from back to front. It's supposed to show the detachment from reality all the characters have, specifically from Auschwitz, but you can do that in so much more entertaining ways. This movie is just following boring German small talk which could have a creepy double meaning to it, but the filmmakers do nothing to make the conversations interesting. Also, I kinda hate the production design. It might just be because of the time period, but both the parents have the dumbest haircuts ever and the house they lived in looked weirdly modern to me. There's some implications of horrible things happening but it barely distracts from the fact that the most dramatic thing that happens is the dad moves away for like a month. Also, I don't care about anything that happens to these people because they are unrepentant Nazis.
Final Summation.
Oh my god this movie is BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINGGGGGGGG. If this wins best picture I'm taking it as a sign that the Academy is truly beyond help and needs to be excised from society with a red-hot knife.
Y'know what would've been a really cool idea? If they made a typical family drama. Like imagine if it went typical all American (Well, German in this case) family. Dad's strict because his work stresses him out, Mom is caring but neglected, there's a teenager working through puberty, one precocious child and one mischievous one. The plot can be something about the Mom thinking the Dad is cheating on her (I mean, he is in the actual movie. I didn't mention it because it is random and doesn't connect to anything. And it's boring.) and is trying to catch him or maybe one of the kids is sneaking out at night and the parents try to figure out why. An obnoxious relative needs to stay over and the family has to deal. Just any average life plot that could be entertaining, and still keep the house next to Auschwitz and all the background details that entails. That would really drive the point home, and leave the audience with some complex feelings about characters if you get them invested in their struggles. That'd be a movie to win best picture.

I was watching an edit of Roleslaying while I was procrastinating getting in the shower and noticed something.
Tumblr media
When the shadowed figure ,that most of us assume is the bard king ( by the theme of purple, the lute and Ryker not liking bards or the bard college ), a ring appears on Romans hand. In this vision thing we can assume that he is supposed to be Ryker. So why the ring? We never see Ryker wearing any rings in any of the shots of him, so where did this ring come from? Roman doesn’t wear any rings either?
Usually I have an idea for something like this, but nothing that has any other real evidence is coming to mind. Every idea I’m having is a stretch.
Until I noticed what finger the ring is placed on.
The ring is placed on the index finger on his left hand ( I can assume the left because of shot previous ). You know what rings are placed on the index finger on your left hand?
WEDDING RINGS.
But Romans mom isn’t here? We can assume this is sometime shortly before Roman was born because Aunt Patty looks the same, and she ( and Ryker ) are out adventuring, which you can’t really do when you have a newborn at home.
Most of us assume Romans mother is dead because she went adventuring with Ryker, or that’s what I thought, so why isn’t she here? Ryker is adventuring. Ryker has is wedding ring on. Why isn’t Romans mother here? If Roman sees Patty in this vision, and even a man he doesn’t know, then why wouldn’t he at the least feel the presence of a woman he doesn’t know. Whatever caused the vision is clearly not him. So it doesn’t matter if he doesn’t know their faces, so why wouldn’t he see his mom!
I’m thinking of anything I can, but I only have one idea, and its that Ryker and this presumable Bard King dated at one point but there really nothing that can back that up. It’s probably the dumbest idea I have ever had, also doesn’t explain why Ryker would have the ring on and how Roman is here so I can probably trash that idea. Any ideas? I’m fresh out. Or is this just another one of me overthinking something? Just weirds me out. There’s a close up shot of the hands, and another where the ring disappears, they obviously want us to see it.
Please send me your ideas and anything that I might have missed in any of the episodes that connects back to this. Maybe I can piece something together? I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, though.

Horror Movie’s I just watched: April 2023
A bit late, but to make up for it, there’s a lot more than usual! Here we go:
Beyond the Black Rainbow Definitely the same director who would go on to give us Mandy, tone-wise. The old complaints for a movie like this would be that the plot is either too thin or abstract. But, for my mindset regarding horror films these days if nothing else, it’s become what I prefer. I’ve made myself so busy with errands and other things (including posting here), that a plot I only need half a mind to follow is a boon as long as it’s got an atmosphere I like. Granted, there was still a few plot things I missed that hampered my enjoyment a bit. But still, it was all enough that I hope to see more of Panos Cosmatoes’s work.
Hatching Here’s fun idea to watch on Easter.  It’s even kinda sorta has a resurrection at the end. But yeah, the metaphor is pretty clear as day. The monster symbolizing the girl’s hatred for her mother and all those pressuring her...plus puberty, I think. A bit of a shame the mother doesn’t suffer any real direct consequences at the end. But she does have to live with the fact she symbolically and literally killed her daughter.
I know what the ending represents; the girl never being able or willing to be the perfect daughter again. But, in-universe, now I almost want a sequel, at least in spirit. This idea that a the Thing like monster has replaced one of your loved ones and it civilized itself enough that it might not kill again. Do you just live with it to keep up appearances? How? But, given that The Thing is my favorite horror movie, any excuse to explore the themes of that further are forever entrenched in my mind.
Death Kappa Does a parody succeed if it makes you realize how much you miss the real thing? This movie starts out making fun of films like Pumpkinhead and ends making fun of 70s era Tokusatsu. Though in a way of just cranking them up pass 11. And now I just miss watching old giant monster movies. It helps that Kappa is strangely cute, even after murdering people.
Bonus points for portraying Japanese Imperialists in way just as dignified as Mel Brooks and Taika Watiti portray Nazis. Meaning, as the dumbest bunch of bullying nerds the world has ever seen. And given what comes later in his career, I shouldn’t have been surprised to see Hideaki Anno here.
In The Earth And now this year’s Earth Day feature; the Better Watch Out of Folk Horror movies. Even without the masks and tests, you can tell this was filmed during the lockdown. Given the threat level the film tries to sell him as, I would’ve expected Zach to be more of the stereotypical hard core survivalist type. Yeah, that would’ve made his evilness less shocking as a reveal. But I still had trouble buying it.
Bit of shame people with epilepsy can’t enjoy this movie. Though I don’t know how you can portray the spirit Parnag Fegg messing with people’s heads without it looking ridiculous. Also, given what happened to Martin’s foot, I’m a bit let down there wasn’t more bodily injuries on him and Alma’s side. I’m not saying, I wanted either of them to be dead at the end, just a little more messed up. Again, I’m sick that way.
Evil Dead Rise *Spoilers*I might come off as too negative here.
I liked this the least out of all the Evil Dead movies, but the reasons might be entirely subjective. I’ve heard a lot online how the scariest parts about this movie, fears connected to Mothers or being a Mother, spoke to some people. I don’t want to take that away from anyone. In a lot of ways, it’s super ballsy, including kids in the body count and deadite count. It’s less hackneyed to find another version of the Necronomicon from the past found and put together then...going to that cabin again. There’s some creativity with the gore. Given how indestructible these deadites are hyped to be, a wood chipper’s a reliable way to get rid of them as anything. I don’t even mind the loose ends like the remaining deadites left behind, because the earlier films built off of loose ends from each other. And I still wants sequels from this.
But it feels like it comes at the cost of taking risks in areas I care about more, like tone. This and the last movie feel like they more directly inspired by the first movie, which is common for these requels. But here’s the thing; I understand why they did that with Halloween and Candyman and such. Because not only are the originals still regarded the best, it’s not even close. But Evil Dead never had that problem. Sure, 2 is considered the best, but all the other ones from the original trilogy are still seen as strong in it’s own right. Even the least scary of the bunch, Army of Darkness is an awesome movie. I get why the Alvarez remake focused on the original and nothing else. But I’m scared that the tone and fun from 2, 3, and the TV series are going to get abandoned because every attempt to continue a franchise has to be as serious as possible. Maybe that’s more of a concern about trends.
Sure, I get why that wouldn’t have worked at all with, like I said, kids getting killed and mutilated. (Unless you’re just as sick as Sam Raimi, who in the old day would make the youngest one get possessed too while he’s at it.). Balancing comedy and horror, especially the way Raimi does it, is a lot harder then what they were going for here. But that was what helped made these movies specials. That made them stand out. Looney Tunes with buckets of blood.
Would I have want Lee Cronin to make a completely different movie? If this was where his passion lied, absolutely not. But maybe, I would like some comedic chops to contribute to this franchise again in the future. I’m sorry that I’m coming down on this. I guess I feel that part of the fun was when it feels like there’s a deadite behind the camera too.
Last thing, I would’ve figured Beth would’ve got the exact opposite takeaway from this. “If they’re going to potentially wander off and find a book that summons demons, Hell no I don’t want kids!”
Renfield Certainly a better foundation for a Dark Universe more than “Tom Cruise and a Mummy too I guess”. Well this and The Invisible Man reboot. It’s a rare treat seeing Nic Cage play the villain, but Dracula’s often a good one to make an exception, especially in a production that encourages his usual style. It’s also kinda funny with more people realizing the OG novel Renfield wasn’t as much Dracula’s slave as the adaptations would have us believe, having a film version where he fully betrays him and lives is refreshing. Making it an allegory for abusive relationships is the icing on the cake. Or maybe it’s the other way around.
The mob sub plot I’m not as crazy for, outside of Ben Schwartz playing the most pathetic mobster’s son since Fredo. Loser side villains are fun when not overused. I can buy a mob family, when they realize that Dracula’s real and here, they’d form an evil alliance with him. I could’ve had more of that.
And of course, like any proper vampire films made post Hays Code, there’s a lot of blood. Granted, with one scene where it was clearly CGI, but better that then cutting away.
I’m not too sure how you make a sequel to this, or even if you should. But more of the classic Monsters used in modern day metaphors in modern day dark comedies, please!

i am so sorry about how hard im about to go off on my beloved childhood anime Bleach. if you follow my twitter you know but im about to basically post my tweet about it under this readmore. prepare for the biggest dumbest rant ever
bro not to bring my bleach world building gripes onto my main but how the fuck does the soul society economy work.
there is clearly poverty so that means there has to be the opposite. there are shops so clearly there is a currency. we know shinigami need to eat so that means there has to be food. so thats means there has to be farmers, butchers and fishers. but kubo says there is a seperate realm for beasts. that cant make sense since animals have to exist in their realm otherwise there is no food. its one thing if it was only farming but they have meat AND ganju also had a boar. so the answer has to be that either the realm of beasts is simply connected to soul society or theres no such thing and animals spirits simply end up in the soul society as well. and even if you had the idea that the realm of beasts was a seperate realm for more sapient animals, it also makes no sense bc that level is not quantifiable in that way for it to work. bro. bro help me why do i like these worlds so much theyre so busted
it really goes to show that a cool concept can pull you very far bc all of whats unexplored stuff is super interesting to me. but its so busted LMAO
ALSO. NOT TO MENTION the seireitei is huge and its obviously like an inner city for noble families (the rich) their servants and people and family associated with shinigami. its also filled with commerce too and we see it the most in bleach omakes
but who is working those jobs. it has to be normal people/souls. so is the only way to escape abject afterlife poverty to become a shinigami OR find a job serving shinigami in the seireitei. its literally a FEUDAL SOCIETY HUEAAAGH.
like its great that non shinigami dont need to eat or drink. thats cool. so at least you dont have to worry about that aspect. but it also begs the question. can you get sick? does soul society have pathogens and viruses? bacteria? are they like special spirit sicknesses?
but what about souls with spiritual powers? the only way to get ahead is to join the military, be a servant, or get lucky enough to be born into a rich family. in the rescue rukia arc the whole concept of the wall between rukongai and the seireitei was a huge deal. and kubo specifically made it clear that there was animosity between people in rukongai and the shinigami.
i could keep going on and on and on about this. and its like. how do you even fix society like that. its run by nobles, who control the massive military bc the nobles are also apart of the military. and when your just a little soul peasant theres nothing you can even do
you cant fight back bc even if rukongai is 10x the size of your military, your miltary have superpowers and could overpower them instantaneously. you cant even communicate with them bc they overall just dont care about you enough. no voting no democracy. OH AND ALSO THE SHINIGAMI CAN JUST KILL SOULS WHENEVWR THEY WANT? BC THAAT SENDS THEIR SOULS BACK TO THE LIVING WORLD AND CONTINUES THE CYCLE OF LIFE AND DEQT. bwuh bwah uagh. imagine having a horrible shit life and you die and you either turn into a horrible monster or are sentenced to Super Poverty. and then as super peasant you finally make a family on the crusty fucked up afterlife only to die and lose them too. but also time is different there so u could be like over hundreds of years old living your little peasant life.
oh my god im so so sorry i still have more to say JSJDKSKF
but remember when the whole rescue rukia arc was all about how the system was clearly corrupt. you see how poorly rukongai is treated. rukias sentence is clearly wrong and corrupt. and its only because shes connected to one of the main Noble families that the whole concept is brought into question (and by only a few people). and aizens whole plan is literally to take advantage of that corruption to manipulate for his own means
but instead of being like 'Oh my god clearly our system is so messed up if he was able to get away with something like this' they were like Ah yes Aizen is the source of every problem weve ever had. this is our problem. okay everyone lets work together to kill aizen and not examine anything else that is the issue. and ichigo was like. Sick. thats tight i will retain nothing from this (i give him a break tho hes like 15 and doesnt deserve any of this)
but its cool!! everyone is friends and wow i love my totalitarian military friends wahoo!!!!! no one learns anything, we never have to examine our fucked up world if we keep having new villains manifesting from nowhere. bankai brother!!!!
ps i actually love bleach. and im absolutely a shounen head. i love the genre bc sometimes u just wanna see cool fights and not think too hard about things beyond surface level conflict. world building has never been bleach's strong suit. kubos skill lies in very cool concepts, awesome and memorable character designs and awesome artwork.
but sometimes you look beneath the surface of something like this and its funny bc youre like WHOA this is busted WKFKKSKFRS
i will say though, without a shadow of a doubt. the Tybw is my least favorite piece of bleach ever. i. i couldnt even finish it. i had to skip through it when it was first being released bc i loathed is so much. just so much new stuff without ever touching upon the inital problem. its so fundementally pointless and is followed by an ending that is worse than naruto's. and it SUCKS. bc theres a lot of neat concepts and interesting characters that come out of it! but its so bad. so bad.
oh my god i didnt even cover the squad zero and soul king bullshit either.

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
So I finally saw Volume 2 of Stranger Things 4 last night and I just... have a lot of thoughts about the season, and I've already yelled at my friends so now I'll be sharing them here!
Warning: unpopular opinions and some spoilers ahead 😅
I honestly can't decide if season 4 was really good or just okay. I will probably be able to say with more certainty after I've had more than 24 hours to think on it. I will say that it left me feeling kind of empty and like full of... dread, I guess?
Like I have no idea how we're going to come back from this, how Hawkins will, how Max will (yes, I sobbed, I was very upset!).
Okay, first the good:
I did actually quite enjoy Eddie. I wasn't sure how to feel about him at the start, but he turned out to be quite sweet (him and Chrissy were adorable together!!), and he brought that newcomer vibe pretty good.
I love that Steve and Robin are best friends. I love how the team up of the kids and teens (or. older teens and younger teens?) happens way earlier than normal. Tammy Thompson 😅 and Vickie is great! Love the Molly Ringwald vibes she has going.
Also put some damn respect on Sadie Sink, she carried this season.
I adored all of the callbacks to the earlier seasons (the lite brite scene in episode 7 had me yelling i tell you. YELLING) and how everything was connected! I love that they dove deeper into the overall mythology and lore of the show, and given us some long-awaited answers (and also Hopper's backstory being revealed. OOF).
(More + spoilers under cut)
I am THRILLED that we finally got the Jopper kisses. All the scenes in the church had me simultaneously cheering and 🥺😳.
Big confession here: I actually am enjoying the stancy renaissance. I'm technically a stoncy shipper because the three of them fighting the demogorgon was unparalleled in season one!
And also I don't think it's out of character, I don't think it was out of nowhere. This is the first time they've really teamed up since their break-up in '84, and they've both grown up a lot as people. I mean the ideal would be the three of them all working out their issues and just becoming a throuple but eh. I think Steve and Nancy have more natural chemistry.
Okay, that was the likes. Here's what I didn't particularly enjoy:
The series felt simultaneously rushed and bloated.
Did we really need to spend so much time over multiple episodes in the Russian prison? Did we need to spend that much time with the stoner jokes and Cali team plot (Argyle's role could've been wayyy reduced)? Did we really need to spend so much time in the NINA project?
Also I have to be honest, I'm still devastated by the finale, and eager to see where this goes, but also dreading it.
And... okay. I'm probably going to be disliked for this, but I am just not seeing Steddie or Ronance. This is my own opinion, but I don't think either couple has all that much chemistry. That might be a me problem! But I just don't see it.
I do absolutely think Steve is bi, but that's a different matter entirely.
Oh by the way, even if the whole “love triangle” thing was stale (I don’t think it is), I honestly felt annoyed that we couldn’t get any resolution for it. I know bigger things were happening but just. I wanted some actual answers! And we didn’t get any!!!
Also like I said previously, the story was simultaneously full of some of the best storyline decisions ever (it was Henry Creel all along!!! everything in Hawkins can be tied back to him!!!!!! that is BITCHING), and also literally the dumbest of all moments.
Like. The Duffer brothers had yet another season where they forgot about Will and Jonathan as characters beyond the whole 'is will gay/is will going to come out' which mostly manifested as him staring longingly at Mike. Please give him more to do in Season 5, D-Bros. You even forgot his birthday.
Like what is going on with Jonathan? What is going on with him and Nancy? What happened to him dreaming about going to NYU since he was six? I know people change but we've barely covered him at all since season 2, and now he's just a pothead who's like an absent father to his own brother.
Mike continues to be an asshole who frankly wouldn't deserve Will even if Will came out to him. It may just be that he's a teen but he's just. Yuck.
And I loved the almost-coming-out but i just. i just wanted him to come out dammit! I don't need fanfair, it was like that scene was metaphorically holding its breath. JUST SAY IT.
They also forgot the fucking nail bat. The ultimate iconic weapon and it is nowhere to be seen in a season that involves going into the Upside Down.
Okay. I think that's everything.
My tentative belief is that season 4 was good. I don't know if it was the best season. I don't think it was the worst season. It tied in a lot of cool lore, but really kind of went all over the place in terms of stories, and a lot of characters ended up left out in the cold. Trying to cut it some slack because of COVID happening but it was. A lot.
Thanks for listening anon, but also deepest apologies for rambling at you.

Share us your fics ideas please!!
I have sooooooooo many! (Also sorry it took me so long to answer this I didn't see my inbox)
I'm in so many fandoms and my brain is always thinking of found family or hurt comfort or fluff so it tends to all ruminate in my brain.
1-A Wildcards - a Persona x MHA crossover fic. I've started writing this one and it's in the works but the basic idea is, "what if ever persona protag is under one roof and all siblings and all are in school at the mha world." I have chapters and plans but it's hard to get fic motivation on this one at the moment. One of my theories also turned out right for MHA lore and I can't explain why but having my own theory proven right really took the wind out of my sails. XD
2. ff7 what if au - basically there's a theory me and a bunch of ppl online share where president Shinra has a bunch of bastard children and basically my fic idea is, "what if the bastards all grow up under one roof." So I'm currently doing research on characterizations for it. It's difficult for me to nail down Cloud's, Rufus', Evan's, and Lazard's personalities. I love Au's where ppl are brothers or grow up together. I don't have any plans for this other then the kids somehow help Genesis, Angeal, and Sephiroth not go insane but I can't figure out how I want to do that.
3. Simon Petrikov: Fionna and Cake Adventure Time drabbles - basically wanted to continue where Fionna and Cake leaves off and put Simon in the trauma cube where he gets to heal from his past. I also am a sucker when Trauma is blasted in 4k for everyone to see so the entire crew that cares for Simon also gets the trauma beam. I also realized Simon and Betty were never married so I decided that must be changed and wrote them a wedding. :)
4. Gohan's Wheel of Emotions - Another fic idea I've had for a few years now. I want to do a series where basically some kind of xyz machine goes wrong and Gohan gets split into a bunch of pieces and it becomes a race against time to put him back together. I was planning for his emotions to be wondering around. I want this to be teen era Gohan too because I'm a huge sucker for the Saiyaman ark. It's again just hard to find time to write it! I just want to write a cheezy little light hearted kind of self healing story.
5. TMNT turtle tot au - just a fun multicrossover baby adoption event. I'm currently writing this and have almost 2 chapters done! I love the idea of the 2003 turtles having a bunch of different aged turtles showing up at their doorstep. So they have to juggle sending everyone home while doing their best not to adopt anyone (spoiler alert the kids adopt THEM)
6. TMNT a KH/Tsubasa inspired story - I don't want to share too much on this plot but if you know about Kingdom Heart and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles then you can get the idea of what if might be about. :)
7. TMNT brainrot drabble - currently working on this one but it's an 87 drabble fic that was inspired by season 5's finale. but now that I'm writing it (it's almost to 10k now) I REALLY want to have it go past the show finale too because MAN the last seasons of 87 are GREAT angst potential. I'm a huge sucker for hurt comfort and this entire fic is kind of like hurt comfort lite.
8. Hetalia - I have so much brain rot for Hetalia but I find it surprisingly hard to write for. I want to do a bunch of silly Hetalia fics about America and his super strength. I love that little idiot because he's MY adorable little idiot. The show is also just so cute and funny it is a big guilty pleasure of mine.
9. Lout of Count Family / LCF stupid idea - basically what if Cale Henituse can sing but he only sings the silliest dumbest songs ever in the history of Rowoon. That's it that's the fic.
10. I have a silly idea for a big multicrossover between all the korean light novels i've read and various manhwa and danmei novels. Like, "What if all systems have a chat function and it connects you to other system users." So it would just be a casual chatfic comedy.
That's most the of the ones I could think of! :P

This slice does not have any pineapples—trust!
Okay, maybe it does. Sorry.
And now, on tonight's episode of Leeb, Leefuh, Lurve:
Tumblr media
Yep, that's Kotone, as far as I could work with the CAS to make something like her. And she's working as an Entertainer. Oh, what's that, Fuuka below? Yep, that's her, and she's working as an artist for a video game company of some kind.
That National Treasure poster? Blame Kotone. Although a poster for the Da Vinci Code would have been nice... oh, damn, I need to finish that book...
I have a bit of a... how do you call it... DVD commentary-type-thing about when I tried to create her: for one, I was really embarrassed when trying to make the two—honestly, I didn't put much effort into creating Kotone, I just thought a randomized Sim would work as a good base for her. So, I adjusted some of her features, followed the concept artwork that I could find on the Megami Tensei wiki for clothing ideas, and made her a little erratic. All was good.
Then the time came to make Fuuka. My will to create Sims based on Persona 3 just exploded, and I just went like "No, no, please, I don't want to do this anymore!" It didn't help much that the randomized Sims didn't make a great base for her. So, I went to NexusMods (where I got the Persona 3 hair CCs,) and decided to pick up those Kotone and Fuuka Sims that MissPiggeh made.
It did sound like a good idea at the time. I mean, it was nearly a godsend, being out of place with the style I usually make Sims with be damned, but it would have been much so had I followed the CC list that MissPiggeh put in the .zip file. So... yeah. She came out looking wrong—with 'em big 'ol eyes... Honestly, I have played with her being like that for a moment, before deciding, "No, that is wrong. I need to fix those eyes." I know that it is not very good and strikes away from her source material, but I did what I had to do.
I'm sorry, MissPiggeh, considering the "Modification permission" bit on the mod page. Very sorry.
I'm also very sorry for bogging this down with a piece of DVD commentary, playing the "I wrote the book they ignored" role...
Right, so, back to the thing.
Tumblr media
Pictured here is Kotone Shiomi, screaming herself off on the edge of Peregrine Cliff Cavalier Cove. She was screaming earlier, though—I just picked the wrong moment to show that off.
And later that day:
Tumblr media
Tʜᴇ Vᴏɪᴄᴇs have spoken. Tʜᴇ Vᴏɪᴄᴇs have decided that... uh... Personally, I don't ship her and Fuuka, but...
Okay, maybe I don't.
Anyways, Makoto decided to give her a visit.
Tumblr media
For one, Makoto and Kotone do not get along pretty well. Well, they do somewhat get along, but they do get weird. No, I won't say that they hate each other, just too distant to make any sense. ...Hm, what kind of personal subtext could I put into this?
Speaking of getting along, Fuuka and Makoto do actually get along well.
Tumblr media
Don't look at the bottom left. I really hate how Sims looks like that when the "Very Happy" Moodlet is on. It's as if that's the most horrifying thing I've seen, only second behind that Callia Maebey thing.
Tumblr media
This is a strange headcanon. Fuuka being a Trekkie? I can see that this is getting more and more interesting and further away from the Persona canon. On the other hand, I thought she looked fairly adorable.
By the way, Makoto's back again.
Tumblr media
They hate each other.
Tumblr media
MAKOTO, NO!
Tumblr media
They're fine together again. Settled their differences? No, they didn't. There are no differences to settle. Just two minds in different alternate universes arguing with each other over who gets to kiss Aigis.
Tumblr media
I don't know what Tʜᴇ Vᴏɪᴄᴇs are trying to tell Kotone, but okay.
I decided to let Kotone have a little socialization by putting her in a little pub at Henford. (That is the dumbest, yet most accurate fictional British countryside town I've ever heard.) So, yeah, she got to chat around, make a few connections and prevent a possible midlife crisis or something...
Tumblr media
That is the gayest tie I've ever seen. I want one.
By the way, she also went to talk with Henford's probably-mayor (I think? I haven't checked.) She also happened to meet Blake and Yang during their little chat.
Tumblr media
Yang, no.
Tumblr media
Not with those eyes, no.
What the hell, they do get along pretty well.
Tumblr media
I guess great minds do think alike. Are they great minds? I don't know. I think that's how the original quote went.
Back at the house, after Kotone had gone to work, Makoto had come back again. He's a bit angry for some reason, I don't remember if he kicked the bin or not, but at least I managed to figure out what had the game decided to give his orientation.
Tumblr media
I think he's gay.
It seemed like a good cliffhanger.

Random story revision commentary #2
Welp this time I got through more chapters, and a warning for... Uhhh fantasy violence? But with guns. I'm not sure what trigger that is.
“Jesdale! Come on, we need those missiles over here!”
The fact that this is the line chapter 2 opens with,
Every non-essential worker had been assigned to various wartime tasks,
COVID MOMENT.
overpopulation aside.
Yeah just offhandedly mention the overpopulation problem in the SRP as if it's not the dumbest shit ever (please there is space you are just refusing to use it the population of the Earth is literally less than 4 billion iirc).
Their leader was in fact passed out on a sofa next to Shane, not even breathing. Despite looking every bit like she was deceased,
I'm
“She of course denied my request and claims that if I go find her and her crew anyway, I won’t get a warm welcome. Wonderful. Let’s prepare some light backpacks for the journey.”
Gretchen: receives a very serious death threat Also Gretchen: ignores it
Shane was surprised, tail curling around his leg. “We’re going after all?” “Um, I’m a little scared of the literal death threat?” Rick said, raising his hand a little in protest.
THE RESPONSES FROM THE SANE PEOPLE, FOLKS.
After a few moments of silence, Shane peeked back into the room. “Did something happen?” “… Gretchen said she would abandon us on the side of the road if we end up being a burden to her.”
Yeah pretty much. She's just doing what she needs to do guys dw about it.
“But aren’t I the crown princess? I should be helping with the war, right?”
SHE SAYS IN CHAPTER 3 AFTER IN HER LAST APPEARANCE SHE BEGGED NOT TO BE SENT TO WAR.
“Why do they hate me?” asked Alice. “Please don’t tell me the birds are also connected to Catherine.”
Honey, when animals don't like you, it's because they Know <3
“Don’t be afraid, spirit animals are intelligent creatures.” “Yeah, it’s not that I’m scared, it’s that I have no idea how this thing acts and I despise uncertainty.”
Girlie… Even the lion doesn't like you.
“So warmongering. Because I know Vicky doesn’t have a navy. Wait, does she?” she looked down at her superior for an answer. “Does the SRP have a navy?” “It does. Their ships are made of metal, and those cannons are definitely not honorable. As with their firearms, their cowardice knows no bounds. They even ambushed us from below somehow, but Captain Nora has the ability to cut through the metal they use for their ships, and putting anything underwater while we have her deployed is equivalent to suicide on their part. Foolish mistakes are plenty with that incompetent excuse for an army.”
Absolutely wheezing. Yeah we're fighting modern warships and submarines with wooden ships and it's kinda tough sometimes but we can just send this one soldier and destroy them all lmao. Thanks Mel.
“Catherine, if you get this, please do something about the yokai,” she whispered to the air. She wasn’t sure how Catherine’s apparent omnipresence worked, but seeing as she had mentioned the wind and the earth, it was worth a shot.
She is so desperate it's almost sad.
“Welcome back. Alice, by Lady Catherine’s orders you are to be taken to the Mirror Cave for a private audience,” he informed. “I presume that includes me?” the satori yokai said. The man smiled. “Lady Catherine said she did not have time to wait for either of you, so if one or both of you are not in time, you’ll miss your chance.” “Wait, there’s a time limit!?” said Alice. “I can’t sprint!”
We love Catherine Cramoisi in this household.
he was shorter and so were his legs.
Alice I am begging you.
For the record, it did not work.
I AM GOING TO STRANGLE THE NARRATOR (the narrator is not me or Alice).
Alice suppressed a reflex to glare back at him, continuing to walk through the crystal tunnels. “Essentially, he’s telling me he’s useless and wants to follow me anyway. And he can’t even look pretty while he’s doing it. Wonderful.”
This woman's priorities, once again.
Before she realized, she couldn’t hear the yokai’s footsteps behind her. When she turned to tell him not to match his pace with hers because that was definitely stalker behavior, she found nothing.
I am more amused at the narration than I perhaps should be.
The voice was her own alternate self, meaning she didn’t trust it one bit, but it didn’t seem to want to harm her, bizarre though it was.
This is just so telling. Alice PLEASE.
“And now, to find Catherine.” “No need to look for me.” Alice jumped around, hands up and ready to fight. “WHY do you keep sneaking up on me?” Catherine tilted her head. “I did no such thing. Now then, you wanted to talk to me, yes?”
We love Catherine Cramoisi in this househol-
“Is it about our supervisor?” “Yup.” “You want him gone.” “Absolutely.” “It’s not that I don’t agree with you,” the consort unexpectedly told her. “But politics won’t allow us to do away with him until things are secure, meaning until the end of the war against the SRP, and probably not until after we’ve partitioned Victoria’s land with them.” “Ugh.” “Is that all?” “I guess. I was hoping someone would be able to do something about the creep. Everyone needs their privacy, you know?” “Privacy is a rare privilege for royalty.” Alice groaned. “With each passing day I see more and more downsides to being royalty.” There was a sudden silence. “Alice.” “Yeah?” “You know I can hurt you, right?”
Catherine my beloved… (AND BASICALLY EVERY BETA READER'S BELOVED TOO)
“You know how these things work, I assume.” Alice wound down slightly. “Yes. I’ll owe you a favor. And I better keep my word, or else.”
Haha. Not Rin thinking to herself that if Alice doesn't keep her word this might turn into a fun situation and that's dangerous because "it makes her mask crack" like. Vibrating.
Side note, for chapter 3.5, I've written drowning scenes twice in my lifetime and the second one is far better than this one.
“All according to plan. Fate will bring us back together. Okay, now you’ll be on Fate’s side? Which one is it, rebel against destiny or accept it? May those who accept their fate be granted happiness, and may those who defy their fate be granted glory. Teacher’s words, not mine. I also have no idea if she’s an enemy or an ally. A little bit of both. She wants me to defeat her. And I know I will, eventually. I just hope Lady Catherine manages to keep her attention for long enough. Our queen is a crucial part of the plan, after all. The real game has only just begun. Prepare yourself. That sounds way too fucking ominous. And be prepared to snipe Teacher’s swallows if we see any. Didn’t she say they weren’t hers? The ones with glass eyes aren’t. If you see one with black eyes, no sclera or iris to be seen, shoot to kill. The others are not part of her game.” Everything is part of the game.
Ominous ass. As for why the dialogue is formatted weird, this is how I decided to format two different people in the same body talking to each other (no it's not DID, it's a soul thing). There's another instance but it's two of the same person in the same body so that's also formatted differently.
In chapter 4 we once again get a mention of Gretchen's seeing light, and earlier in chapter 2 she read a letter in braille. Gretchen isn't blind but she can't afford to "see", so she keeps her eyes closed and covered by a blindfold. The seeing light is really just, basically sonar technology?
“If only I had my M82. Firearms and blueprints were literally the only useful things we took from the US, and I had to massacre so many survivors to get us out of that one. With this puny rifle, the shot probably won’t land where I want it to land.”
Gretchen really just insulted the US and lamented her lack of a better gun in one breath (well, thought).
“Zerzurans are like tea bags full of magic.” -Gretchen Rufner, 7043 AU
For context, that means it's the year 7043 "after (the) Unearthing" which is the apocalypse that kinda nearly wiped out humanity.
NOT GRETCHEN LAMENTING THAT SHE MISSED ONE OF HER SHOTS BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T HEAR A BUSTED KNEECAP FROM ONE OF THESE TEENAGERS. Gretchen is questionable at all times and she is especially bad during this part but in her defense the situation is pretty dire and they're kinda at war so.
“H-how could you? You made them believe you would spare them,” Rick managed to squeeze out. “They weren’t even soldiers!” “That’s war. Every child of Zerzura is a soldier. Had I not killed them, I assure you they would’ve screwed us over later or tried to kill us. I was very humane with these two, and if you think I wasn’t, you are both still innocent little children. The world Outside is not sunshine and rainbows, especially not during a war. Now, I wonder…”
She says after holding two civilians at gunpoint, shooting one in the head upon learning he's mute, and shooting his brother dead too after he answers her questions while trying not to sob too loud. After this she also proceeds to kill the goats that were pulling the merchants' cart.
And that is all for today! Man I cannot wait to be done with this so I can work on the fics.
