We love a boy who can communicate and does because his mom reminded him that lying, especially to himself, is bad. And so he talks. And he explains. And he is kind and he is gentle and he is scared but he is honest.

This boy is about to experience a very big mindshift. And entire flip of his mindset.

Kazuhito's world is so much warmer and brighter than Ryo's, so yellow and orange to his cold blues. I love them deeply and this boy is in love.

I love this angel and this consent king who literally won't even kiss him when he isn't sure he means it. Absolutely perfect. We love a man who wants his kisses to be real and thought out and not just a momentary thing to be regretted. Love it here, @absolutebl, Japan jumping into the consent game again with both feet.

I love him so much. I love them so much. Because Ryo's world is much brighter when we're closer in on the two of them, though not as bright as Kazuhito's world. What a perfect confession between them two of them.

I adore a confession like this and I love them both, they're so tiny and so soft and so sweet. Beloved boys!

The cold walls and the warm windows, the wartmth they find inside and together versus the cold of their uncertainties that mostly come from outside but also from deep-seated insecurities that they can't so easily escape.

(Ryo still looks at Kazuhito and sees perfection and looks at himself and sees nothing of the sort, looks at him and doesn't know what to do because how can he help the perfect person who likes him even though he isn't worthy of being liked.)

Two Confessions. Truth Revealed.

Natsukawa Ryota (SAKAI SHO) asked roommate and childhood friend Tanaka Kazuhito (SATO RYUGA) for a kiss. A kiss to prove a theory of sexuality and interest.

Ryota wanted to know if Kazuhito's lack of interest in the opposite sex translated to feelings for him (or men in particular)

As the request caused discomfort, Ryota back tracked claiming it was a joke. Later confessing it wasn't.

In turn Kazuhito admitted his feelings for Ryota but didn't want to force it or cause discomfort for him.

Note: 2 Likeable Guys. Alongside Perfect Propose, this BL is my favorite JBL of 2024. And isn't it interesting that both are by the makers of OLD FASHION CUPCAKE.

Something I love about Love Is Better the Second Time Around is that both of their reasons for feelings betrayed by each other are understandable.

Miyata thought Iwanaga wasn't taking him seriously because he saw him joking around with his friends. So obviously he doesn't trust Iwanaga. Miyata thought Iwanaga saw him as just some silly joke.

Iwanaga on the other hand was very serious, but wasn't able to communicate that. Even if eloping was kind of a joke, a part of him was serious about it because it involved Miyata. He saw it as his chance to show how serious he was and looked forward to being alone together. When Miyata didn't come he felt betrayed. He must've thought "oh, I guess I'm not that special".

Miyata seems to have moved away soon after that so they must've spend over a decade without any communication/resolve. For Iwanaga, he ended up wanting Miyata and being even more direct. For Miyata, his distrust only got worse.
