Bill's a noisy fucker when he sleeps.

It makes sense, Joe concedes. Won't shut up when he's awake. Won't shut up when he's asleep. Bill snores like he's got water in his engine. Mumbles too. The first time he started talking, Joe almost jumped out of his skin.

Guess it's good we only sleep one at a time.

The moon is half-obscured by clouds, and still painfully bright. It smells like rain.

Joe doesn't let Bill forget it, the snoring. Or the mumbling. The way he says Frannie like he's trying to sound like Bing Fucking Crosby on the radio.

Joe Toye, tryin' to tell me shit about singing, Bill says, looking only the slightest bit murderous. Joe doesn't mention everything he hears. Henry. His ma.

Joe figures a muddy foxhole in Ville-sur-wherever-the-fuck isn't a worse place to see the moon than anywhere else. He never had a car for the drive-in theater, anyway. Moonlight meant the next shift wasn't far behind, meant dinner and passing out on the floor, face to a scrap-bin towel. Weekends meant beers or dates or both, cold autumn air and his jacket over a flowered dress, small shoulders. Wandering hands. Perfume.

He wonders if he'll go back to it, after the war. The mine. Somehow, something tells him he won't.

Bill stirs next to him. Joe's elbow inches toward his friend's ribcage, as he squints into the patchy dark. There are things he'd rather hear than Bill, to put it politely. If he thinks about them too long he knows he'll be in trouble.

A bed, for starters. That damn moonlight. Her.

When did he turn into a goddamn love song?

Something rustles in the leaves above them, and he straightens up. Probably a bat. His eyes go back to the horizon, the Germans camped across the field. He can't see them, but they're there. Sometimes they sing. Bill tells him they're only a little worse than he is.

It's almost his turn to sleep.

He tries to remember it, the sharp green smell of her perfume. Clean hair. How warm she is. Not like he is now, jaw tight in the rain and sweat. The way she'd sighed, all soft and quiet, when he kissed her.

He prays he won't talk like Bill. Would be a hell of a time to start. He won't have to wonder; Bill would tell him.

"Hey," he says, more than a little forcefully, and Bill startles awake. He can worry about the moonlight tomorrow, if they get that far.

have you guys watched that episode of attorney woo (ep 10) where woo is on the train and sees a guy getting arrested and try’s to help? yah but make it saiouma (and semi chaotic).

shuichi is doing something, on the train, or at a coffee shop and this cute preteen boy bursts through the door, looks at shuichi and

K: “hey! aren’t you like that detective guys nephew yah!?“

and like 5 officers are casing him with guns and he hides behind shuichi

K: “dude you need to help me! make them go away!”

S: “w-what??! i’m his nephew not a magician! the hell am i supposed to do!”

K: “i don’t fucking know do something!!”

S: “im 15 what am i supposed to do!?-“

PO: “sir step away from him, he’s a murder suspect”

S: “i would like to but he won’t let me”

that OR and AU where they’re very happy and steady on a four year long relationship and one thanksgiving day there’s a mock knock at the door, it’s shuichis work buddy’s

S: “um.. sorry but you wernt invited to my thanksgiving..”

PO: “actually we’re here him, kokichi ouma- you! you’re under arrest for-”

and boom he starts running, other cops start looking around their home and he’s like

S: “um you can’t do that withou-”

PO: “we already have a warrant.”

oumas under arrest for murder (he ran before they even said what it was in the beginning) he thought it was something else he did and IS in fact, guilty of but it’s WAYY less crazy then murder. him running just makes him look guilty as fuck.

shuichi has to go through the crazy though of his boyfriend actually doing something that fucking atrocious. and, we’ll, prove him inocente, not in an official way, but the same way he solved a cold case when being underage.

ANDDD! not to mention ouma lying about a lot of stuff to do his real, not so crazy, but also not so small crime (probably something involving DICE. don’t have to be crazy but i do think that’s his family and he’d do a LOT for them, including lying about what and where he is to shuichi)

either way, ouma is going to jail for something he didn’t do! because,,, obsessed with detective shuichi.

but then again… it would be a lot of shuichi and not enough ouma to be considered a saiouma fic… so maybe not that interesting … whomp whomp whatever! they’re AUs i like to think about trying to sleep :3

Double shift last weekend and this is the only picture I got (which my coworker actually took with me for her Facebook story RIGHT when I looked like shit and it was low effort makeup day because I had to be there early to open the bar)

for me… FOR ME..!!! and for shri’iia specifically the lock in for astarion’s romance is his graveyard scene in act 3.

i think it is too quick for shri’iia to be moving on to another relationship considering her previous one was with her mistress who essentially groomed and isolated her for like … more than hundred years. learning to chase her own desires and not moulding herself to what anyone wants her to be is something so new to her…!!! and something that she’s still learning how to be comfortable with….

and what I like abt romancing astarion with her is that I usually go for the dialogue path in his act 2 confession scene where you can ask him:

- what do YOU want to do?

and he goes like honestly idk what we’re doing but /this/ is nice. it just feels like two people exploring the option to love for the first time and taking things in their own pace rather than jumping straight into the relationship. they’re going at a snails pace… they don’t know what they’re doing but they like this feeling and the vibe and they want to more of it but they’re not ready to commit to anything yet and it’s fine for them …!! and they’re only committing by the end in the graveyard scene where significant time has passed and they’ve learnt a little more about themselves and they’re both more confident about their own desires and also how they want to be loved.

like it is so fitting I think… and sweet… not to mention astarion being a high elf & a vampire and shri’iia being a drow, they have all the time of the world for themselves so I def think they would want to take their time. except if shri’iia turns into a mindflayer or drider by the end then that plan is out the window lol

#now I’m thinking who else I can romance with her .. maybe lae’zel ??#since the thing with her is that she doesn’t get vulnerable in act 1 so the scenes where the romances #are kind of heart to hearts like shadowheart’s or karlach’s (😭😭😭) is out of the question since it doesn’t fit her …#like she’d rather sleep with someone first than actually get to know them 😭 hence astarion and lae’zel …#gale and wyll… I am hmmm about it on one hand her approval with wyll in act 1 is not even high enough 😭😭#and I don’t think she can be sweet enough to chase after him in the party .. she was kind of like ok fine whatever when he said he’s not in #the mood … gale I think can be a contender .. It's not that Nine is obviously in love with Rose, if he is he doesn't know it. He just adores her. It's not all the complex romantic drama and whatever that Ten had with her, Nine just adores her outright, does whatever she wants, needs her around, and if he's rude to Mickey it's not envy, it's genuinely that he doesn't think anyone else is good enough for Rose. Did he say anyone else? He meant anyone. Else. Because they're not like that. She's nineteen. She's got a boyfriend. He doesn't do domestic. He won't get involved in any family, won't have it. But with each episode...she's not wearing him down, he's wearing himself down. He watched her show no fear in front of a Dalek, watched her protect it, watched her have empathy with for it, and stop him from turning into the thing he hates.

Maybe she could have been just any good person, anyone who would have reminded him of having wonder, heart, compassion, and some kind of ordinary life. Finding wonder in those little moments again instead of distracting himself with wonder after wonder throughout time and space. But Rose was the one he found, and isn't that how it works anyway?

#Doodles #SCII #KUP #NEJ #Captain Sterling #Mix of lads! Working on a little bit of all the SCII OCs lol #Ft. my first intentional doodle of KUP - trying to plan around ways to differentiate him from how I draw the rest of my fave VUX #I'm thinking he might just have a slightly longer face lol - slightly longer tendrils slightly longer trunk #Stretched lad lol #The return of NEJ! Love NEJ <3 His name is fun to write in VUK ZIX haha it's very angular #He's still got his little pouch :) Which is definitely a good way of differentiating him since I forgot his uniform differences until later #He doesn't have the little gold collar/cuff elements! Mistake! The last two of him are the most accurate even if he is missing his pouch lol #Also fun to draw his mask again :D He's totally gotta wear it from protection from things like water and fertilizer! Not just in avoidance!#I mean it Is probably a good idea that plant fertilizer doesn't get in his eye lol but it's more of a perk of the job #His curves are fun to draw too ♪ Gotta remember he's Extremely hour-glass shaped - somewhat wide shoulders and hips and tiny waist haha #And then a couple more of Sterling and KUP to round us off #Getting dangerously close to considering shipping those two...#Sterling's just friendly with everyone and has very few boundaries lol but KUP's feelings hmmm hmmmm #He's not a fool tho he likes playing chicken as well lol #KUP balks easily but keeps coming back hmm wonder what that's about lol ♪#He can just produce so much warm air all at once!
