I’m really sad that there’s no one who appreciates plants in RWBY. Like you’d think that with Ruby ROSE having a ROSE motif there’d be some roses around for her (or anyone) to enjoy but there’s none. Ren has his lotus thing, but he hasn’t seen one since his childhood. Where are all the plants and the appreciation for them :,(

#Finn's ocs#Finn's art#oc references#i wrote the descs while w the kids so hopefully they make sense. my attention was split#but anyway here in the tags I'll talk about the designs in relation to their kids lol#polaris is emulating thuban moreso than anyone else. her color scheme and outfit motifs are the same as his- they ARE his#her original outfit is clothes she took and diy'd into her own so she could go off into the world and well presumably look for him at first#the truth is she always wanted to see the world that's why she loved maps. in a way this was an excuse. in another way she was just lonely#but doesn't understand loneliness. also the fact that she's not his daughter by blood is part of that#bc of her actual parents (not as relevant character-wise) she sees all relationships as temporary and she has issues connecting#ananke i wanted to mostly look intimidating in a way that Bella really isn't#Bella puts on skull hairties and fishnets and stuff but she's very much. a cute softie trying to look edgy. she has pink twintails#she's so different from her mom in pretty much every way but she still did have that ideal of strength drilled into her#still her take on it is softer. she's the team leader now but she's really pretty lenient aside from the important No Killing rule ofc#w Rhea and Arche i had a bit of a flower theme. pussywillow (lol) means motherhood and buttercups mean childishness#so. mother and child#but rhea is interesting bc she's raising a whole different kid now that she's in a different place in life#if you do the math she had Saiph young. and it was alright for a while until his dad (again not as important) died#so she didn't have support or money. but she had a connection to the guild because his dad's old sword teacher is a member (hmm)#but she was too scared/ashamed to visit. she just left him his dad's old knife because that's all she had (THE KNIFE IS IMPORTANT)#arche is her kid with her second husband and her new beginning. this will cause some inner problems for Saiph when he meets them...#Poerava was kinda designed to have rich lady vibes because remember Al's family is practically nobility#but more importantly she's designed to look like a mom. with the low ponytail and tired eyes#the black pearl of her namesake as the centerpiece of her outfit too#again she's got the healthiest relationship with her kid here by a longshot#but i mean don't worry Al still got the daddy issues so he's not getting away unscathed#I already drew Taurus with the zodiac knights though so i didn't feel the need to reintroduce him#anyway Mira really has 0 connection to any family at all she was found as an orphaned baby after a monster attack#obviously she had parents but beyond town of origin it's unknown who so she has no connections to any sort of past parental figure#the guild is her one and only family and that's how she wants it. she wants to be with them forever the past doesn't matter

Hoodie :) (plus today's outfit!)
Probably my fave piece of band merch from an aesthetic standpoint, so it was kind of scary to start fucking with it LMFAO
But also, as it was originally (regular pullover hoodie), I actually couldn't wear it comfortably cause of how it clung to me and bunched up in stupid ways (even though it's Supposed to be large 🙄)
For a while the only mods were the slits/patches on the sleeves and waist, but as it's been getting warmer and as I put A Lot of attention to like, the rest of my outfit a lot of the time, it's kind of a bummer to wear a pullover actually I feel like I would wear it more if it zipped. So. Implemented a zipper! 👍

I was very careful to preserve the other hoodie I took the fabric from, cause I loved it dearly LMFAO and wanted to use it somehow in the future (wasn't exactly sure how at the time, though). The Original original hoodie is from middle school, and while like. It fit. It was absolutely too tight for my liking, esppp as I've developed a STRONG preference for baggy/loose clothes.
Ultimately the fit of it is a little weird, it's VERY top heavy LMFAO (I actually haven't figured out how to stitch the second hood on without bunching up the other hoodie since they're two different sizes, large and small -- it's just pinned via safety pins for now) but it is SO COZY. AND funky. AND THE DOUBLE POCKETS ARE SO COOL. Sewing that bit was really fun too! All of it is hand sewn, and just me figuring it out as I went.
ALSO.
I absolutely took inspiration from these two Splatoon jackets in particular LMFAOOOOOO (patchwork bomber influence is p clear, combining several different jackets into one -- the dark bomber influence is more in how the hoodie is shaped, and in how the zipper doesn't completely meet the end of the jacket!)
All in all I just love it so much and so dearly and I'm really happy with the results!!!!

#unemployed but i stay silly#anyway....bought two hydrangeas....#they're pretty.....#<3#the reblooming kind 🥰#i could not afford them but they were a good deal#not as much as the flowering trees i bought two days ago#but much bigger!!#in the two gallon pots#so i dont have to wait for them to get big to start looking nice#they're big enough i can probably take cuttings also :)#im gonna make the pond look so pretty!!#rn it looks really sad and swampy lmao#but w a little landscaping it will look like a feature :)#plus is has pretty fishies in it#and im ripping out all the invasive stuff and i need plants to replace them with to stabilize the soil#thats my story and i'm sticking to it#also if there's nice bushes that will take up space so the weeds dont come back#hopefully#anyways this is a cheap time of year to buy stuff bc its all dormant#and its going to be 60f tomorrow!!!!#so my garden fever is crazy rn#i have literally two crocuses in bloom rn and thats it lol#but my daffodils have visible buds on some of them so soon i will hopefully not be insane#this warm day should speed things up a lot#anyway#i will share pics of my garden when its pretty <3#going for koi pond vibes#but idk if i can add koi in w the goldfish#the goldfish are pretty big but possibly still small enough that the koi would eat them

that new silent hill game that came out yesterday is. well
#i knew not to expect much cuz like 1. its free and pretty short and 2. its a new silent hill game so. yknow#it is pretty mid. the story is interesting at points but its SO straightforward like 90% of the time which isnt bad usually#but for a silent hill game it's definitely disappointing. also the lack of any actual gameplay besides walking around and reading things#if i have to give it any props. i think the otherworld/monster design was cool (cuz it was done by masahiro ito) and its a pretty game#also also this is a stretch but. im almost certain this is gonna have some connection to silent hill f#the flower rotting motif + the mention of a japanese clairvoyant being persecuted as a witch seems like what theyre going for w f

#I’ll be watching all of your recs when I’m there 🙏#I also have so many updates and posts that I haven’t felt the guts to ever say#I’m sorry I’ve been a bad mutual but I’ve been a bad friend to all the online friends and friends from my university#im lucky I live in a condo community w/ lots of extention of family + help! my coastal city - particularly our part of the city#in a particular building where we all meet up together in the front on weekends#even at my sickest - I’m still pretty involved since we see eachother physically & I love cooking + baking for everyone on a 2x monthly#and we all walk the dogs together every afternoon in our dog walking by the harbor group#even then these old people have me in a group text and drop flowers off for me and me for them#living in a community is so helpful but it open my eyes that I’m not even just sick or even a bad friend but those two factors strained#my online relationships bc the effort was so much behind the scenes w/ my health and even typing something out that it makes messaging or#even blogging but I’d like to change that bc I want to be more overt online#and I explain how that relates to Palestine and findinfing joy + $$$ in this end stage capitalist nightmare#I want to be better but I also want to show people the joys of my city (a literal hidden gem yet is a national park) and so between fusing#ideas of environmentalism - community out reach & even descalation of yt Supremacist mentalities when doing outreach + volunteer#even our coastal environmental causes to such great causes that help indigenous latinx members of our community in particular#their rights and their accomplishments in agriculture & how fruitful this place is#we have the best strawberries + berries since they are indigenous plants but anyways from environmentalism to damn farmers markets#I live in a slice of heaven so why leave to go to LA and NYC when I create such beautiful joy by the ocean every day#we have such incredible water views in our condo along with the stunning plain mountains framing the water and sea of palm trees#every sunset is like Santa Barbara (we close!) w/ pink/purple/orange skies that are so vibrant that they make you take pictures constantly#especially with the herons nested there w/ there babies - so close to#is that we watch them all day long + the other coastal birds#all this Shit is random but I realized that if I put my effort into a few things academically that I haven’t even shared in these tags -#that I can have an incredibly fulfilling life while sick as long it pays for itself and I think I can do it w/ a few different plans I’m#creating but I’m setting up a couple of businesss for passive income - go back to grad schooo but for medical research or political science#IR my old life of international relations and start publishing my research on Palestine and Jewish studies#I just need to publish either medical or political but if I do that - have my east businesses that not only highlight my life#but may help the people and animals of my city#but I feel the change finally coming and maybe it took something like this to wake me up#so many funny typos but this was just a quick way to explain that I need to be more comfortable on video + online w/ you all but on tiktok
