Grew up in the Cleveland suburbs

Has Autism but its not diagnosed so people just say he's 'a little odd'

Actually genuinely failed his drivers test 3 times

Terrible at speaking any language that isn't English

Weirdly good at mental math? Bro is great at calculating a tip

Does so many things because 'it's cool' (this includes learning to ride a motorcycle and wearing leather jackets)

Listens to dad music 😔 in a cringe and lame way NOT a dilf way

Tried to learn how to play guitar in college as a way to get girls but he was so genuinely bad at it that he gave up (he still has the guitar though)

Has one (1) picture of his parents and him, the rest were lost over time

An only child of only children so when his parents died he lived with some distant cousins until he was 18 then went right to college

His birthday is in July to me. July 17th in my mind

Has had only 2 girlfriends (one is high school, one in collage, they both dumped him after a couple months)

here's a headcanon i've only just consciously realised i have:

whether it actually exists or not, mcu valhalla is meant to look like you expect: golden halls and courtyards where the warriors can endlessly feast and find glory in battle.

but mcu hel(heim) is meant to look like a battlefield after the battle is won. empty ash and mud and wasteland. mist, or smoke, or smog, or acid rain. visible decay that never cycles back to feeding new life. maybe traces of unidentifiable ruins or bones. hel is where those who died "without honour" go, the pointless deaths, the innocents, and so the supposed honour and glory are never visible there.

hel is where the enemies of asgard will (allegedly) one day rise up from - all the people they fed into the meat-grinder of their empire, all the women and children, the commoners and collateral damage, the so-called barbarians and slaves - and they can see that empire for the utterly bleak and pointless evil it is, and they're villainised for it. "the monstrous hordes of the undead". the ghosts on a nation's guilty conscience.

some of the monsters asgardians tell their children about are living, but the worst of them, the true existential threat, are the innocent people they haven't murdered yet. and the constant fear/shame of not dying well is only the fear of becoming one of them.

basically there was this scene in supernatural where Sam and Dean were really tiny children. (Dean is 4 years older than Sam). Anyways they were home alone (cause their dad fucking sucks) and they had no food except for spaghettios and lucky charms. And Sam was like I’m sick of spaghettios can I have lucky charms? And Dean was like :( there’s only one bowl left and I haven’t eaten anything. But then he ended up giving Sam his lucky charms and Sam gave the prize in the box. It was a really sweet and sad scene. Anyways people were using that scene to say that Sam is really selfish and inconsiderate for doing that. And I need you to know. This is what they looked like.

i feel like my answer to this would be equally unpopular but i agree with you

and the thing is, there's no specific reason for it, either. absolutely no basis in canon (where we see examples of lily's parenthood, not james) but i just--am really biased towards my boy ykno?

in addition to viewing james as nurturing/like a caretaker, i also feel like lily was the more selfish of the two. and more independent as well. so she would take time to adjust to this entire human depending on her whereas james is a fkn sponge--he'll love having harry attached to him at all times. he was also a lonely child who adored his parents and wanted something similar to that whereas lily's family situation was, well. ykno.

so yeah, i dont know if i'd call it a better parent, exactly (james was almost def the more indulgent of the two, and would always put harry's happiness over everything, even if it could be detrimental so he had his faults) but i do think he was a natural parent and it came harder to lily.

But to be sure everyone don’t mix thing up i just want to point out that not liking/ not being fan of an headcanon don’t equal being an ass about it. It’s the mean actions or words afterwards that are bad.

hey! i’m glad you found it generalizable. there’s a lot of things on there that get used against pretty much any “diverse” perspectives both inside and out of fan spaces. as for your second point, i don’t disagree with you. there are some queer headcanons that i don’t personally hold, but i’m going to be cheering them on rather than contributing to the negativity we face on a regular basis. you can personally hold a different headcanon without being a jerk.

this is not @ you anon, but there are a lot of people who believe that underrepresented groups seeing themselves in characters — whether through the lens of race, gender, sexuality, disability, etc — is “politicizing” fandom and ruining it somehow, as though a white/cishet/male/abled perspective is the default in art and anything else is “tainting” the “pure” fanspace. some of them might believe those voices can exist — so long as they keep their heads down and don’t take up too much space. the fact of the matter is that’s a bigoted thing to believe. our existence has been politicized against our will. for the marginalized, fan spaces are just another front we have to push to participate in. if someone finds themself constantly disliking one specific type of queer/nonwhite/disabled/etc. headcanon and feels the need to say over and over how much they don’t like it, they ought to seriously interrogate why that is.
