The actors of the One Piece live action did such a wonderful job bringing their characters to life in season 1. The cast also has such excellent chemistry - I'm such a fan of them, as someone who never follows casts or behind the scenes on most shows. OPLA is special.
So, I got curious. Which pairs of characters do y'all think have the most onscreen chemistry? It can be romantic, platonic, rivals, mentor-mentee. It's up to you how you interpret!
Personally, I love the growing platonic love between the crew in season 1. Nami and Luffy are great (Emily and Inaki do so well growing that onscreen bond), same with Nami and Zoro, Usopp with all, and eventually Sanji.
Sadly, I could only include 12 options here, so I've added the first 12 that entered my head (whether or not they had a lot of scenes together). Let me know if there's a pair that had more chemistry but didn't make my list! (I'm sure I'll have an ah-ha moment after I post this poll...😅)

OPLA fan cast polls - Top 10 winners!
By far most of the submitted fancasts were accepted by the fans, having had a minimum of 50% yay votes. But which fancasts had the most fans behind them? Here is the top 10!
10. Karen Fukuhara as Tashigi with 82.4% of the votes.
Her experience with martial arts and sword fighting might have convinced the fans who weren't familiar with her previous roles yet!
9. Rhey Ripley as Charlotte Smoothie with 82.5% of the votes.
Her wrestler build probably convinced a lot of people she could pull this off. And maybe the lesbians went wild about her.
8. Peter Capaldi as Dr Hiriluk with 84% of the votes.
Once a doctor... (also, he just kinda looks like him)
7. Alexander Siddig as Nefertari Cobra with 84.5% of the votes.
This Sudanese actor convinced the fans that he could play another desert kingdom ruler!
6. Amber Midthunder as Laki with 85% of the votes.
With only 1 vote really against her (we will find you and hunt you down 😛), the fans think this native American actress is perfect to play Laki!
5. Jamie Lee Curtis as Kureha with 87% of the votes.
With by far the most submissions, I had expected her to come out on top, but 5th place isn't bad at all either! Besides, she has practically been cast already, and the fans seem to agree! If someone else gets cast after all, there'd better be a real good reason for that!
4. Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson as Brogy with 88.1% of the votes.
This tall strongman from Iceland seemed the perfect fit for the friendly giant!
3. Kevin Chamberlin as Tom with 89.1% of the votes.
Tom's a fishman, Kevin is human. And yet, look at their faces: the same. The fans could do nothing but agree with this fan cast (though they would also love him as Wapol).
2. Michael Jai White as Ohm with 89.8% of the votes.
Corporate needs you to find the differences between these two pictures.
The fans: "They're the same picture."
No one voted against this fan cast, so in that aspect you could say he should be the winner! However, a few more people needed to be convinced, compared to the number one...
And the winner...
1. Javicia Leslie as Miss Doublefinger with 92.9% of the votes!
Her looks, her acting experience (as Batwoman for example), and her experience with different (combat) sports have convinced almost all of the fans that she is a perfect fit! We are looking forward to see Javicia as Miss Doublefinger in the next season (?) of the One Piece Live Action!

Probably the only A-List celebrity I’d accept, she’s genuinely a fan of the show- enough that she expressed a bit of hesitation in an interview simply because she wanted to make sure the adaptation would be good and faithful first, before she started considering the job more seriously.
I mean, just look at her. Best bitch to ever bitch. She can put me trough hell and take my cash and I'll be thanking her.
She has been asking to play this character for the past few years but has said for a good bit her dream character to play would be Robin
She should really be miss Nico Robin, but this is her back up role
-Her favorite OP character is Chopper -The fandom's been asking for years and she already publicly asked Netflix so we'll see.
She is already an avid fan of One Piece (Chopper is her favorite) and has expressed interest in playing Kureha or Robin. Also she’s a very cool person.

Cody Fern: As soon as I saw that hair, all I could think of was Sabo. Cody Fern is an Australian actor who has played a lot of roles involving criminals and crime, so he is able to play more serious roles, as well as a wide array of different characters. He seems like a good choice for someone to be serious while also being very goofy like Sabo. He could easily lead a Revolution! All he needs is a top hat!
Brennan Lee Mulligan:
This is peak Sabo energy and while this is a character he is playing he just normally reaches that level of ACAB gremlin energy that is required for Sabo AND i think will complement iñaki’s feralness well

hi, i love your blog! i was thinking about a poll idea pertaining to the one piece live action that might be fun for you to do! it would be a fancast where people submit and vote on actors they think should play characters that haven’t appeared in the show yet (i.e., bartolomeo, doflamingo, hancock, etc…).
Okay, so this ask has been sitting in my askbox for a while (thanks for sending it!) So it would keep reminding me of it while I thought about the best way to do this. I'm not sure if this really works well in a classic tournament way though, but maybe in a way like you can submit them and we'll vote 'yay' or 'nay' (or 'maybe'?).
Unless a character gets submissions for different actors, then I could pit them against each other. We shall see!

Must be for canon manga One Piece characters that have not made an appearance in the first season yet. (cover stories are canon too)
Characters who are theorized to have been seen (like Crocodile), but not confirmed, count as 'not appeared' too.
Smoker counts too, as I couldn't find a name for his actor yet and we haven't seen his face (if he has been cast and the actor is known, please let me know. For now it could be anyone).
Submissions HAVE TO include a (link to a) picture of the actor in question, as I don't know many actors and don't want to use a wrong picture.
'Actor' doesn't have to have acting jobs on their name already, but you must be convinced they are able to act out the character convincingly, so acting jobs help.
Actors must be speaking English well enough for the job (accents are fine, they don't have to be native speakers).
Every submission will get in, so no need to submit the same twice. But please, keep it to serious submissions only. If I think something is a joke submission, I'll keep the right to not make a poll about it.
If you seriously consider trying out for a certain role, you may submit yourself, given that you are comfortable with your name and picture being on this blog. (but don't cry if people vote against you)
Please keep the submissions and propaganda free of manga-only spoilers!
I'll keep submissions open at least until the Shipping War is over, maybe longer, depending on how many submissions I get.

He's been accepted for two roles in the fan cast polls (but not accepted for the roles of Jinbe, Blackbeard, and St. Jaygarcia Saturn), but which one of these two is the best for him?
