Driving/Riding on the 101 between Thousand Oaks and the Central Coast is one of the most beautiful trips you can make in California, especially now, after all the glorious rain. For over 25 years I have driven it, and most consistently for 18 once I met Lynn and we became a couple. His family has lived in San Luis Obispo for decades. He introduced me to the shortcut on Highway 154 through San Marcos Pass and Cachuma Lake, so this added a new layer of beauty and delight to the landscape. I am grateful for the rest, sanity, and calm this drive afforded me over my 35 years in California. I definitely will miss it, but it will be something to look forward to when we return for visits. Lynn's sister is fortunate to be established in SLO and she'll never leave. A few snapshots of Highway 1 at Morro Bay and that cool rock, Highway 46 into Paso Robles, and the San Marcos Pass on the ride home. My husband is a road warrior, and such a good driver.
