Maybe a hot take, but I don't think the Traveler was being inconsistent or out of character in the last archon quest at all. People are getting upset at their reaction to Lyney and Lynette's behavior from the perspective of players, with meta knowledge of the story that the Traveler, the character, doesn't have.
The players know, for example, that because they're playable characters, Lyney and Lynette are ultimately friendly and on "our" side, and we can also trust that what they told us about their backstory is true. The Traveler does not have that knowledge.
TO BE CLEAR this post is talking about my thoughts on the TRAVELER'S thought process. If we want to talk about how I personally would have reacted to the situation, I'm an overly trusting bleeding-heart who would absolutely get scammed and probably murdered by Fatui in this universe.
(Also characters, even main characters who you normally like, can do things you disagree with and that doesn't mean they're badly written. I mean, sometimes they are, but I don't think that's true in this particular case)
But think about it! Looking at the entire situation from an in-universe, in-character POV, it's a really bad look for Lyney and Lynette overall, because here are the facts as the Traveler is aware of them:
Lyney and Lynette are not only members of the Fatui, the primary antagonistic force in this story, but are specifically members of the House of the Hearth, which is known to specialize in espionage, subterfuge, and sabotage.
Both of them also work in a field that would further require them to be masters of misdirection, audience manipulation, and drama.
They "coincidentally" ran into the Traveler right as they arrived in Fontaine and immediately began to do them favors and be very friendly, including saving them from Furina, bringing them to meet their family, and gifting them VIP tickets to Lyney's show.
During the trial, the twins withheld key information, and not just about their identities (and listen, I get it, I fully empathize with why they did it, I get the reasoning, but it's still a bad look when it gets figured out) but also about what they were doing in the tunnel.
They admitted that the entire magic show was a ruse to do, guess what? espionage! To break into the room with the Oratrice's core and find out how it works. To, through subterfuge, obtain Fontaine's secrets about the nation's most important mechanism and central source of power.
The Traveler has known these people for like, a day total.
So what conclusions might the Traveler draw from these facts? When the evidence shows that Lyney and Lynette have a record of misdirection and obfuscation for their own ends? When the Traveler has no way of knowing if even their initial meeting was orchestrated for an ulterior purpose? How are they supposed to know if the tragic backstory is even true, or if that's just Lyney trying to win back some favor and sympathy? In my opinion, at that moment, they don't. Hence the coldness.
My interpretation of events is that the Traveler does like the twins, and wanted to keep liking them, but was struggling to reconcile their initial impression of two friendly magicians with the realization that these two friendly magicians were dishonest with them for most of the time they'd known each other, so they needed to have some space to figure that out.
And for those saying the Traveler is inconsistent, here's the thing: they still helped Lyney. They still acted as his attorney, investigated thoroughly, won the case, and cleared his name. They've done similar for other Fatui members in their acquaintance—they helped Childe with Teucer, they helped Scaramouche/Wanderer with getting his memories back, they helped that other member of the House of the Hearth fake her death and escape the organization—whether or not they fully trusted them, and generally they didn't.
As for the Traveler's supposed hypocrisy, my view of their relationship with Childe is that it's only improved because, despite Childe trying to nuke Liyue in the past, the Traveler knows that
a. They can handle him if it comes down to a fight again; b. He likes them, regardless of if the feeling is mutual or not, and is indeed aggressively friendly to the point where it's easier to just be civil; c. Childe is generally upfront and honest about his actions and will strike from the front, not stab them in the back; and d. He's worked together with them before when they had a common goal (for example, the labyrinth they went through with Xinyan).
They know how his mind works and what motivates him. Childe is a known quantity, the twins are not, and it took in-story time and shared experiences for the Traveler to get to even this point of neutrality; they were openly suspicious of him during his story quest.
As for holding his Vision for him, the Traveler didn't exactly volunteer for the job, Childe literally threw it at them with no warning and peaced out. What do you expect them to do, drop it in the sea? That would be inconsistent with their characterization.
Wanderer's whole situation is even weirder, since the Traveler was able to experience his actual memories and emotions and therefore has good reason to trust that he's had a genuine change of heart. Not to mention that they're not friends, I'd argue they're in that same nebulous "neutral" zone, and that only because Nahida usually functions as a buffer (and also because, again, the Traveler knows that they can handle Wanderer in a fight, and Wanderer also tends to be blunt and honest).
Also, in Lyney's story quest it seems like everyone got over their problems pretty fast and they're all chummy now, so you can all rest easy that the twins' feelings weren't too hurt about it.
Anyways if you disagree go ham, refute my points, whatever, just keep things civil.

John Doe (Malevolent) Propaganda:
Spooky gay eldritch disaster (am I doing this right?)
Could have chosen any name for himself and picked John because a kind person called him that :)
fractured piece of an eldritch god that shares a body with a private eye after being fractured. chooses the name John Doe after said private eye goes into a coma
Because he's an eldritch god who wants to feel human and who overcame a lot of obstacles and dangers!!! He sincerely cares about the main character!!! And he chose a name himself! Isn't he cute??? He lost his body, he almost lost his memory, he fought for his right to exist, he loves animals, he loves his friend Arthur and I love him!
Being an ass, friendship, spooky supernatural stuff, he’s got it all
My man heard the name John Doe, realized he didn’t actually have a name, and just. Took it for himself.
I LOVE HIM. MY SON. HE'S TRYING TO CHANGE AND BE BETTER AND :(((( He's a fragment of the soul of the King in Yellow (god of trickery and suffering iirc??) that gets trapped in a book in our realm while the rest of the King stayed in his own separate realm. When a human named Arthur Lester opens the book they get linked and John gains control of Arthur's eyes & kills his partner (oops!). They proceed to go on a quest to find a way of separating them because neither likes the situation, and at first John (or The Entity, which is what he's called at first) just wants to trick and use Arthur, and control his entire body (through the first season he also gets a hand & a foot) even though he doesn't remember being The King In Yellow at the time, but Arthur makes him change and become more human. His turning point is when Arthur is shot and falls into a coma for a month. They get treated at a hospital and while John waits for Arthur to wake up so they can carry on, the body itself still gets taken care of. The time John spends alone, contemplating on humanity & everything he's seeing and learning from Arthur, as well as the way a certain nurse speaks to him every day (specifically, she greets him good morning and good night, despite the body being unresponsive, John still hears because he is an entity linked to the body) and calls him John (they didn't have ID on when they were found so they were classified as John Doe), changes his outlook and plans for good, and he asks Arthur to call him John; from this point on he admits he cares for Arthur, looks for his wellbeing too, and in general attempts to be a better person and to live for himself. The rest of the podcast (ongoing!!) explores Arthur & John's relationship, struggle to survive, adventures in the eldritch… All while tackling each of their issues with themselves and each other and watching them both grow. John in specific learns to be the person he wants to be, how sometimes you'll take a step forward and two backwards; he can be cruel and manipulative sometimes but he still tries. Personally I love his journey, it's very realistic and you can see he is trying his best, and how he wants to be better than he was as the King In Yellow, and how much Arthur has changed him and how much he cares about him because of that; and how he's slowly growing into being his own person :) if it ends badly ill cry so hard but!!! he's John Doe because that's the name he was being addressed as, and he's made it his, and being John means he's no longer the King and that he wants to be different, and John can fail or make mistakes but it's part of who he is now, and that's what matters. I am So Normal About Him
JOHN DOE (Malevolent) SWEEP
John Doe (Ace Attorney) Propaganda:
technically John Doe is the fake name he uses to hide his identity as an assassin but uh, that's still the name he goes by. its because his real surname is literally "de killer" so.
His real name is Shelly de Killer, but he uses the pseudonym John Doe. Does that still count?

As much as I love Raincode it's just. So rushed. I really wish they'd taken more time on it, to really make it shine. Because. With what we have I can't really recommend it to anybody except my friends who have to listen to me rave about it anyways
Game-play wise, Raincode reminds me of Danganronpa, Ace Attorney, and Persona 5 and I think the Raincode in my head incorporates stuff from those games. Like for example, imagine if:
We get a few days in-game that pass without us immediately tackling a mystery. Like how Persona 5 has a ton of time separating each palace, you get time to explore Kanai Ward and really get to know it.
While we're not working on the story-mysteries, we can pass the time by hanging out with our fellow detectives and Kurumi- possibly Makoto but maybe not. Or we can hang out with Shinigami!! Similar to freetime events and confidants.
We get more quests that aren't just "go talk to this person and then this person". Maybe we get little mysteries to solve. We could expand on the red rain!! On that wizard!! Why did they include that and then never do anything with it??? Maybe in the beginning we can do simpler cases, like finding lost pets and such! Like how Yakou said his job usually involves.
Can we get more gambling in Raincode actually. I spent a lot of time in DRV3's slots. It's a fun way to pass the time. Maybe we could even pay Halara back their shien
Have the other detectives there for the other cases. Chapter 4 did a good job having everyone involved, but the rest SUCKED ASS at that. In the games I listed above, we always have the remaining students/court members/Phantom thieves. And ofc not everybody is involved each time but it's more than what Raincode gives us (Yuma, helper detective, Peacekeeper, and the suspects + victim)
I just. Man I wanna replay it but it has no replay value for me... I replay Danganronpa every so often because there's so much to do and it's not just the same things over and over again.

NXX Video Game Headcanons
Rosa:
Avid player, plays multiple genres of games. She frequently drags all the guys into games together.
Does she play Genshin? — Absolutely. Lumine main.
Star Rail? — What do u think, her Pela is probably shredded.
Luke:
Grew up with Rosa, so he's a gamer by default. They played games together all the time, this guy has every type of console in his house.
Plays Nintendo games the most, he was probably into Zelda and Professor Layton.
Equal footing with Rosa in terms of skill, they don't really take games too seriously though.
Does he play Genshin? — Probably mostly does Spiral Abyss, otherwise he's goofing with Rosa in co-op. His gallery is full of photos. Heizou main.
Star Rail? — He's definitely playing, probably mains Jing Yuan.
Marius:
Absolutely a gamer in his free time, probably played with Giann sometimes when he was little.
Mostly plays PvP and FPS games— Valorant, Call of Duty, Halo, Star Wars. He's probably into Pokémon too.
Rosa kicks his ass at every game. He only manages to win if he teases her enough.
They played Phasmophobia together and he chickened.
Does he play Genshin? — He played a little when it first came out but dropped it after a little while. Definitely whaled on some of the early banners. Started playing again because of Rosa and grinded to catch up. C6 Childe main. (until he pulls newer characters) Star Rail? — Oh yeah, he's got it running in the back on his computer. He plays it more than Genshin. Blade main.
Artem:
Dabbles in video games, not a particularly avid player.
He probably had a Nintendo DS growing up, the man was born in 2001. He played Ace Attorney, Mario Kart, and Cooking Mama.
Only really plays when Rosa asks him to, he'll brush up on his skills in his free time so he can play decently with her.
Does he play Genshin? — He played the quests for the lore but he doesn't really do dailies or the Abyss. Built his characters so he could play with Rosa, he had dumb gacha luck and got C2 Zhongli, so he mains him for the co-op shield. Star Rail? — Rosa introduced it to him, Artem more so casually plays but he got Luocha out of stupid gacha luck and mains him. Vyn:
Nope. Never touched a console once. He's completely clueless.
Vyn grew up as nobility is Svart, he's unfamiliar with a lot of games. He mostly just played with toys by himself when he was tiny.
NXX probably introduced them to him and he was very eager to learn. Rosa very patiently taught him and he wound up having fun. He started to dabble more in his free time to get better tho because Marius being better than him was a crime and he wasn't going to let the other guys one up him.
Ends up liking RPG and simulation games the most, he psychoanalyzes characters and likes more laidback games. He would like Persona 5 and Stardew Valley.
Does he play Genshin? — Rosa really likes it so he decided to give it a try. He made a pretty garden in his teapot to run around with Rosa. Baizhu main. Star Rail? — Again, Rosa probably introduced him to the game. He doesn't like it as much as Genshin because he can't run around with Rosa, but he picks it up and likes the plot. Imbibitor Lunae main.

I finally finished the first part of the archon quest (i am in an unhealthy relationship with procrastination) and it was fun despite being a lil long (they really DON’T want you to leave until the end omgggg).
//SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN’T FINISHED PRELUDE OF BLANCHEUR AND NOIRCEUR
So my impressions that I know you need and want:
I properly meet Furina who is suuuuch an annoying bitch, she can be glad i already decided i love her. I can respect her ability to lie out of her ass though. She was also very cute when she was like « notice me senpai » and Neuvilette was like « plz don’t give her anymore attention »
Also i didn’t expect to fall in love with Navia but here i am???? She’s a mafia boss??? I really didn’t expect that.
Honestly i don’t understand why people are so surprised the traveller was so cold with Lyney and Lynette? Like i honestly would be pretty annoyed too at their place. Also I love me a distrustful and colder traveller, that is tired of being used by everyone. I feel like it’s building up to something and i am interested.
The story and mecanism in themselves were pretty fun. I feel like the thing they did in Sumeru with the deductions was really building up to that and that was pretty cool ngl. Ace Attorney energy 😂
Anyway i need to continue, ik Childe is the mc for the next part so i am curious what my babygirl will be up to

Compilation list of things I have found in Fontaine so far (not finished).
(Mainly crack, but can contain spoilers from archon and some world quests. There's no context provided tho).
A husband.
Super cute marine life (fishies, otters).
A crossover with One Piece (Sea Kings).
A dragon husband.
Enormous abyssal creatures.
An institute, a secret society or a cult. Still deciphering.
Human experiments.
Fluids that come from humans (not the kind you think, sadly).
A crybaby husband.
MELUSINES.
Someplace like Enkanomiya??
Drugs.
Melusine's drugs (they called them potions, but I disagree).
Mafia (related to drugs but not the way you think).
Ace Attorney.
Childe abuse (not a typo).
Human trafficking.
Chief Justice 🥰
Non-heterosexual relationships (wlw wins again).
A big ass map because I have at least more than 60% on all parts of the map and just got the 19% achievement. My phone is going to die.
A BABY SEAL I FORGOT TO FEED TODAY
Either astral dreams or drugs' side effects.
Almost jail (this was so funny tho thank you Fontaine for delivering).
I think this is all for now.

Great Ace Attorney Wolfwalkers(???) AU Info Dump
So those doodles I was posting back in Dec. of some of the GAA/DGS characters as wolves (this one and this one) do have the context of an entire AU to go with them, but as usual I've been alternatively either too busy or too brain fried to compile them all in a format even close to approaching cohesion... UNTIL NOW.
This stuff is all from a collaborative effort between me and my friends Cal and Harry that spun off a simple question: What if… Wolfwalkers inspired GAA AU where Kazuma loses his memories and doesn’t remember he can become a wolf, and Ryunosuke is the weird feral stranger who keeps risking life and limb to sneak into the city to try and get him to remember who he is by getting him to come run around and be gay in the woods. What if.
Info below cut contains implied and explicit spoilers for the entirety of GAA Chronicles/DGS 1 and 2.
Important tweak to the premise and the reason why I keep putting (???) at the end when I call this a 'Wolfwalkers' AU: Instead of being humans who become wolves when they sleep, the wolf characters mentioned here are more along the lines of like, the wolves in Wolf’s Rain. They're actual wolves who can appear as/become human to try and blend in with human society. It's a pretty big change but, because Wolfwalkers is still the primary insp., I keep referring to it as a WW AU anyway. Even though it's not... Necessarily accurate. Lol. Much like in wolfwalkers there ARE still normal-ass wolves who CANNOT do this weird magic stuff. Also like in wolfwalkers, if you get bitten, you become one of them.

Ryunosuke: Wolf w/ dark grey/black fur. On the scrawnier side (probably the runt of his litter) but prides himself on having a particularly excellent sense of smell. Best friends (extremely gay) with Kazuma. Has spent the better part of a year trying to accept his friend’s apparent death until one day, he picks up what he’s convinced must be Kazuma’s scent coming from inside a mysterious and imposing looking walled human city.
Susato: Human turned wolf with light-gray/silvery fur. She’s particularly agile in wolf mode, and naturally has a way better understanding of how human society works, which probably doesn’t sound like much of a talent but please realize that her skills and expertise exist in contrast to Ryunosuke, who tries real hard but is kind of a disaster. Kazuma is basically an adopted older brother to Susato, but he is also the reason she is a wolf in the first place. (There is no resentment over this, it’s totally chill, Kazuma just bit her by accident when they were very little and tussling or something.) Kazuma: Wolf with black fur and white accents. Presumed dead by his friends and family, but it turns out he actually lost his memory somehow and has been living in the human capital AS a human under the care of the local government, with absolutely no clue as to his own origins. Now working as a wolf hunter apprenticed to van Zieks. Crack shot w/ a hunting rifle, also very handy with swords (natch).
Iris: A clever young wolf who lives just outside the city walls with her adult guardian, Herlock Sholmes. Befriends Susato and Ryunosuke and aids them in their quest to find their friend. Niece to Barok, although obviously neither of them are aware of this fact. (I don’t think she has a PhD in this AU but she is still extremely smart and she is probably still an author??? IDK Gotta think about that.)
Sholmes: Human man, certified wolf sympathizer and Great Detective. Apparently known throughout the city and beyond for his great feats of deduction, although Ryunosuke is frankly a bit skeptical about how true that actually is! Iris convinces him to help aid Ryunosuke and Susato in rescuing Kazuma by working to uncover the truth of how their friend came to lose his memories in the first place.
Gina: Friend of Iris. A particularly unusual wolf who has learned to make a life for herself inside the city walls, despite how inhospitable the humans there are to her kind. Fur is a light blonde/fawn sort of color w/ black-grey sooty markings, which combined with her trademark bandana is enough to help her pass her true form off as a particularly large dog. Has a big chip on her shoulder, says she doesn’t like humans but is fiercely protective of all the human orphans in her gang. Uses her sharp wits and intimate knowledge of the city to help keep everyone out of danger.
Gregson: Plays a pretty minor role but because I know people are going to ask about him if I don’t include him (and I would not blame them, bc I love him too), here’s what he’s up to: He’s kind of the neighborhood block captain/keeper of the peace in the part of town where Gina and her rowdy gang of fellow orphans run amok. Still a great lover of fish and chips in this AU, but is not an actual cop and does not get tragically murdered, neither as part of a larger conspiracy nor for any other reason! Gina constantly gives him guff both as a wolf and as a human, generally causing him trouble whenever she chafes against the local rules. Gregson gives her crap but he does also kind of secretly care about her and the other kids, unfortunately he doesn’t really have the means or the resources to do much for them in terms of food/housing.
Barok: The city’s top hunter. Hates wolves with a passion, is ironically unaware that his own apprentice literally is one. Kind of a miserable combination of Quent Yaiden (WR) and Bill Goodfellowe (WW) in this AU. City wide he is feared and kind of known as a bit of a freak because he’s one of the few people within the city who fervently believes wild magic is a real thing, and he’s absolutely CONVINCED that there are wolves out there who are capable of appearing human. They are totally tricking everyone and trying to INFILTRATE CITY SOCIETY, and while he has no idea what they’re after or why they’d even want to do that, he is ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE they’re responsible for killing his older brother.
(He is eventually forced to reconsider this position when he’s bitten and becomes a wolf himself.)
Stronghart: Cromwell stand-in/governor of the city. The truth is, Mael actually knows all about wolves and wild magic, but he plays dumb so he can use his secret knowledge to further his own personal agendas. Manipulates van Zieks by pretending like he thinks he is out of his mind for claiming magic wolves are a real thing, then makes a big show of insisting on keeping him in the position of game warden because he’s the Best Man for the Job. He also knows the truth about what Kazuma really is and is the one who assigns him to apprentice under van Zieks. His hope is to poison Kazuma against his own kind enough to maybe kill a few of his own, so that even when he does eventually remember what he is, it’ll be too late/he'll be too guilt ridden to go back. Then he’ll have no choice but to become Stronghart’s own personal assassin, much like Klint used to be.
Yujin: Not super different from how he is in canon except he has two wolves for kids. Human guy and doctor who comes from a smaller town far far away from the big city wherein the central conflict takes place. Aware of shapeshifters/wild magic. Basically adopted Kazuma after Kazuma’s real father was tragically killed. Has some knowledge/experience about the human capital city but he is absolutely hiding it!
Klint: Deceased; human turned wolf, killed by Genshin in honorable combat. Stronghart found out about him being a secret wolf and manipulated him into using his shape changing abilities to carry out political murders disguised as tragic wolf maulings on his behalf.
Genshin: Deceased; wolf, but one who was also skilled at swordplay (yes, he’s a sword wolf, don’t worry about it). He inadvertently became the primary reason for Barok’s obsession with/hatred for wild magic and wolves/shapeshifters; when Klint was killed, a wolf was the only thing seen fleeing the scene of the crime… Yet his brother was murdered with a human weapon, not the fangs of an animal.
STORY BEATS/MISC SCENE IDEAS
The first time Susato and Ryunosuke enter the walled city, they take a tag team approach where Susato goes in as a human and Ryunosuke poses as her pet dog. That way she can handle all the human interaction and he can use his canine senses to try and lead them to Kazuma. This actually works really well until they run into Barok, who is not so easily fooled. He pegs Ryunosuke as a wolf almost immediately, and a harrowing mad dash chase scene ensues. In the chaos of the escape, Ryunosuke encounters Kazuma. Alas, he finds no recognition in his long-lost friend’s eyes, and indeed, when their gazes meet it’s over the barrel of a gun!
Susato and Ryu manage to escape only because of some well timed intervention from two local wolves, Iris and Gina. Gina berates them for waltzing into the city without a damn clue, Iris invites them back to her house just outside the city to meet with Sholmes and share their story.
With the help of their new friends, Ryu and Susato are able to take a more subtle approach in trying to get through to Kazuma. Ryunosuke takes things a step further and probably gets a menial job within whatever building is at the heart of the government where Kazuma works/trains under van zieks. He tries to get close to him as a human.
At one point he takes the plunge and tries to show Kazuma what he really is (in the hopes it'll jog his memories), but van zieks has long since grown suspicious of this new hire (“Hmmm the janitor we just hired sure has the same shifty boggly looking eyes as that wolf that got away from me the other week…”) and catches him in the act. And then literally catches him.
Barok has wolf-Ryu in a cage. He tries to interrogate him, but Ryu keeps playing dumb and refuses to speak. Barok’s losing it with frustration, this is the first shapeshifter he’s encountered since Klint’s death and he is DETERMINED to get some answers but this wolf just KEEPS. STARING. AT HIM.
Stronghart somehow gets wind of Barok’s catch and is terrified that this wolf he’s caught might know something and could blow all his plans sky high?? He intervenes in the interrogation, tells Barok off for being some kind of conspiracy theorist and going way too far with this shapechanger theory of his, says he’s confiscating Ryunosuke with the intention of putting him down.
Susato, Iris, Gina, and Sholmes all show up to pull off a dramatic rescue. IDK what they do exactly but they make it out to the city gates somehow, at one point Barok IS about to shoot Ryunosuke but Susato saves him by lunging in and biting the hand Barok is aiming his pistol with.
They complete their escape while Barok is clutching his bite wound. Ryunosuke is compelled to look back one more time though, and there’s that super tropey thing where Ryu achieves a prolonged moment of sad and meaningful eye contact with the furious hunter before turning tail and disappearing into the trees.
It takes a bit probably, but one night soon after Barok will be DOOMED TO BECOME THE THING HE HATES THE MOST, and is forced to flee the city in a wild panic. Gets injured (possibly by his own apprentice?) on the way out.
While everyone’s regrouped at Sholmes’ place trying to figure out how the hell they’re going to get to Kazuma now, Ryu does a sniff and says he thinks there’s a new wolf out in the woods? One who smells kind of familiar but he’s not sure why…
They go to investigate and find wolf Barok wounded in the woods (Iris finds him first), they treat his wounds and bring him back to the house and basically they have to teach him how to be a wolf now.
They do eventually all work together to expose Stronghart and save Kazuma and love wins in the end.
I desperately wish I had the wherewithal to write a proper fic about all this but I don't, so you guys just get my partial bullet points and heartfelt doodles.

Hotel Dusk: Room 215 (Nintendo DS)
in our quest to check out more visual novels this year, we decided to play through hotel dusk, a rather niche ds game that makes heavy use of the ds’s gimmicks, such as closing the system to solve puzzles, using the touch screen for the entire game, and having you hold the ds like a book.
despite the short length, hotel dusk turned out to be one of my favorite games I’ve played this year! kyle hyde starts off as a sort of assholish protagonist, but as you learn more about him you sort of figure out why he acts the way he does. there’s a very interesting cast of characters, all with their own problems and reasons for being at the hotel, and while most of them weren’t really designed to be likable, I still enjoyed learning more about them. the artstyle for this game is also fantastic, the black and white character portraits in contrast with the dull colors of the hotel works extremely well. the portraits also have multiple animations too just while conversing that really make the characters feel more alive and adds extra emotion to a lot of scenes in the game.
the music in this game is also extremely well done, and wouldn’t feel out of place in an ace attorney game. the very relaxing, chill vibes of the hotel easily turn into a tense atmosphere when kyle finds enough clues to start grilling someone for information, and it all just works excellently. my favorite songs are “on the rocks” and “the last sleep.” I was also surprised by this game’s use of words like damn and bastard, and the frequent mention of alcohol for being a ds game, it’s interesting to see for a nintendo game that even was referenced in super smash bros.
overall I’d very much recommend this game to anyone who likes visual novels or adventure-y point and click games, it’s also only about 12 hours long with a guide. I would recommend being careful with dialogue choices though, as many options can net you a game over either through acting like an ass or saying the wrong thing when interrogating someone.

Bonjour it is sleep deprived French girl again :) Just wanted to know, what other fandoms are/were you in ? You play a lot of video games ?
Oh damn didnt see this one yesterday,, hope you managed to get some sleep! And ohhh boi- I was in a TON of fandoms since I jump a lot between them (note: I consider being in a fandom as is- I created artwork/headcanons and was obsessed with it for atleast a month or more)
Mhh- think I’ll divide them in “categories”: Been in and never going back for either reasons or disinterest: Creepypasta (first ever fandom I was in- regret;;; except for Slendy man) Rick and Morty (I just casually watch now) Showdown Bandit (Lost interest, too bad for some characters I liked sobs) Batim (Had its chance- but now I lost interest. Bendy is still adorable tho) Villainous (just enjoying the characters rn) Been in and might come back to it: Cuphead (can’t stop loving them characters and King Dice and many other bosses are still in my heart sob) TF2 (Man I love the comic and them homicidal dorks) Sally Face (I loved the aesthetic of that game so much,,, lowkey want to retry making art of it) Hello Puppets (extremely underrated, them puppets be hella creepy and funny all in one- still stanning my boi Nick Nack lmao) SCP (Want to read more of them but I got so much I want to do nghhh;;) Always in my heart someway or another: Undertale (the fandom that made me and my irl best friend get closer :,> doesn’t matter how weird it got I got beautiful memories because of it (also my first cosplay was in this fandom!)) OFF (Might not show it- but I think I’ll die in this fandom dshdgsh) Hollow Knight (Too good too leave and it got some of my fave artists) Deltarune (I’ll surely get back into it when more comes out aaa) Underhero (extremely underrated but absolutely amazing characters, would recommend) Luigi’s Mansion 3 (found so many cool people and friends through it, it was a good time :,>) Smile for Me (comfort game right next to undertale sobs;; the style and characters are perfect and I love it to bits) Currently into: No Straight Roads (duh asdhdh- absolute current obsession right there) A Hat in Time (Lurking again in the fandom- want to do some more fanart cause I miss it;;) OFF (Always down for it) Lobotomy Corp/Library of Ruina (Another absolute obsession- and I’m excited for what LoR is gonna bring next aaa) Animal Crossing/ Enchanted Folk (Both amazing to relax and to look at cute as heck characters) Grey zone(?): Stardew Valley (havent played in so long;; but I used to be hella into it- completed the quests and married Elliot the dork poet sydsdujsh) Drawn to Life (I miss Wilfre and Heather so much sobs;;) Don’t Starve (Was hella into the lore and characters but didnt play much whoops;;) Pokemon (I mean,, it’s there but??? Idk if I can consider myself in the fandom?? Still love it in general) Darkwood (I love the game but havent been much into the fandom or drew much of it;;) Phew- and that’s all on my fandom history kinda ahahah. For games- I don’t play many;; I usually watch gameplays while drawing, writing or working to multitask.  Games I played tho- Practically all Pokemon Gens starting from Platinum (with also serie spin-offs like pokemon ranger and one Mystery Dungeon), all Professor Layton Serie until either Azran Legacy or Miracle Mask (forgot which is the “ending”;;), OFF, Undertale and Deltarune, Animal Crossing Wild World and New Horizons, Hollow Knight, Cuphead, Lobotomy Corp and No Straight Roads. Plus a lot of other rpg maker games. Let’s say I’m for games with a lot of lore and story more than action eh;; Platformers and the like I can deal with ‘em but boss rushes? Cool but they kick my ass so much sdhsdh. OH and my best friend is getting me into playing Ace Attorney (we play together via discord) and lowkey getting into it-.. unfortunately I know some of the twists so heck;;;

VIDEO GAME TAG
Me: gets tagged
Also me: immediately forgets every video game i've ever played
Thanks to @thealexmachina for this - it made me think about games I haven't thought about in years! Tagging @shepgarrus @zaeedmassanis & @garriante (but only if you fancy it).
Games
First game you ever played: oh boy, probably Monsters Inc on GBA. I'm a woman of culture, you see.
Favorite game: LoZ: Twilight Princess. It was the first game I'd played with a story that utterly hooked me. And my first LoZ title.
Game you’ve played through multiple times: Lego Star Wars. BF is making me watch the prequels atm and I keep recognising rooms from the games. If they just smash up those chairs they'll get some studs and an extra heart.
Game you hated at first but now love: Shadow of Mordor. Hate is a strong word. Didn't care for it initially and it's not normally my type, but it was actually a lot of fun.
Game you used to love but now hate: Okami. It's beautiful and the mechanics are cool, but there's this stupid fucking digging mini game that I just cannot beat. Non-optional mini games can eat my whole ass. I put it down last year in a rage and never picked it back up.
Your favorite game atmosphere/setting(s): RDR2. Rockstar's worldbuilding is second to none - the dialogue, the locations, the horses, the little bits of lore scattered through the world for you to find. Stunning. Very close second goes to BotW because the peaceful post-apocalypse vibe is really refreshing. And it also has horses.
A game with your favorite ending: LA Noire. Sometimes shit's broken and people are difficult and the bad guys get away with it, and there's nothing you can do about it but god damnit do we we try anyway. That final sequence in the sewers was some high-octane shit.
A game with the WORST ending: obligatory Mass Effect 3. Otherwise, Skyrim because it just never fucking ends. 100+hrs in and you're a Dragonborn Arch-Mage Dark Brotherhood assassin vampire Nightingale warewolf who could kill a Giant with a sneeze but half the quests are broken so you can't bloody finish anything properly.
Best character customization?: New Horizons. Fight me.
Hero and Companions
Your favorite playable character: FemShep, obviously. Corvo from Dishonoured is also very cool.
The funniest playable character: ooh that's a tough one. Arthur from RDR2 doesn't get enough credit imo. He's a funny dude.
Your favorite companion(s): Midna from Twilight Princess. The bit after the water temple where she gets hurt you have to take her to Hyrule Castle in the dark and the rain? Yeah. Honourable mention to Wrex from ME and Bekowsky from LA Noire. We only get them both as actual companions really briefly which a shame.
Companions you could live without: Thane. Sorry buddy, I just didn't care about you at all.
Relationships
Favorite game friendship(s): Arthur and Lenny from RDR2. FemShep and Ashley are hugely underrated in the fandom imo - there's a scene in the Citadel DLC where you both get hammered and start a bar fight. Just gals bein dudes. Also Phoenix and Maya from the Ace Attorney series for the 10/10 sibling dynamic and found family wholesomeness.
Favorite game relationship(s): Shepard and Garrus because I'm always a slut for relationships built on a foundation of mutual trust and respect. Also the one in Transistor. You know the one.
Favorite companion banter: gotta be the OG Mass Effect alien squad - Garrus, Wrex, Tali and Liara. I love how their interactions evolve through the games.
A relationship you weren’t sure of but loved: Alistair and the Warden. They got off on the wrong foot initially in my first Origins play-through but he's a sweetheart really.
A minor character you wish could be a companion: every Star Wars game should have a Gonk Droid companion option and that's the tea.
A character you wish you COULD romance: Morrigan. You expect me to believe the swamp witch is straight? Please.
Fun
Shoutout to a random NPC: ISAAC NEWTON IS THE DEADLIEST SONOFABITCH IN SPACE.
A game you love watching playthroughs for and want to play: the Uncharted series. I'd give anything for a PC port, Sony. ANYTHING.
Love watching playthroughs but won’t ever play: literally any horror game. Until Dawn, Dead Space, etc. But even then I never watch them full screen and usually only have one headphone on.
Online gaming or solo?: Solo. The only online game I really play is GTA V because I don't have friends.
Why do you play video games?: I don't read a lot at the moment so they get me my fiction fix, and games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley are thereputic. And I just think they're neat.

2011 - This Year in Gaming
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective - Nintendo DS, January 11th
A quirky adventure game where you are fucking dead, and you gotta work out who killed you. Ghost Trick is like Ace Attorney at first glance - it looks similar, and is made by effectively the same development team. Give it a shot on iOS.
Tumblr media
Dead Space 2 - Multiplatform, January 25th
Dead Space 2 was the undisputed king of alien horror until Alien: Isolation released. Yeah, you battle massive acid-spitting aliens, but it’s the necromorph babies you’re gonna be shit-scared of. It isn’t quite as unique as it’s predecessor, but it’s definitely much better to play. Bring your brown pants.
Tumblr media
The Nintendo 3DS Releases - March 27th
The 3DS was like magic when you first fired the 3D slider all the way up - then it became a gimmick you never used again. Releasing with a few decent launch titles and being able to boast Street Fighter IV as playable, the 3DS arguably didn’t really pick up much steam until a few months after launch. While more powerful than the original DS which was six years old at the time, I can’t remember being particularly interested in it at the time.
Tumblr media
Portal 2 - Multiplatform, April 19th
Valve’s final single player experience until their jump into VR was a bloody good one - very funny and amusingly written with the best Steve Merchant performance since The Ricky Gervais Show, Portal 2′s puzzle solving adventure is rarely a chore to play through, and has thousands of custom maps courtesy of the Steam community.
Tumblr media
L.A. Noire - Multiplatform, May 17th
Rockstar’s foray into adventure games has stood the test of time as an enjoyable and often startling journey nto the seedy underbelly of 1947 Los Angeles - as Cole Phelps you’ll threaten a Jewish man with the gas chamber, arrest a paedophile instead of a clearly guilty father, quote Hamlet to a prop skull at the scene of a car crash, destroy thousands of dollars of property, and yell at a child whose mother’s just been murdered. Great fun!
youtube
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings - Windows
CDPR hit it out of the park with a fantastically improved sequel to 2007′s Eurojank diamond in the rough The Witcher, and really introduce Geralt of Rivia to more people for the first time with this game. A branching story that sees Geralt hunting Letho, the killer of King Foltest, and allying either with smelly hippy elven leader Iorveth and his terrorists who don’t appear in the sequel or the very cool but quite racist Vernon Roche and his special forces group, who are supporting characters in the sequel.
Tumblr media
Alice: Madness Returns - Multiplatform, June 14th
A surprisingly charming, unsettling dive into the fractured psyche of the Victorian equivalent of an actual goth gf, Alice is a sequel to American McGee’s Alice from 2000. Surreal as fuck and absolutely drowning in atmosphere. Just don’t look at any of the YouTube comments on videos of the soundtrack. Rather bizarre show...
Tumblr media
Duke Nukem Forever - Multiplatform, June 14th
Sometimes it’s best NOT to bet on the Duke. I bought this game to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I did neither - DNF is fucking boring, and I blame it ALL on Randy Pitchford’s devotion to ruining things I like. DNF could’ve been brilliant - either embrace your heritage like Doom Eternal would eventually do, or make it into a “last hurrah” kind of thing where Duke realises he’s getting old and can’t kick ass forever. The greatest disappointment of the 2010s so far - but worse would follow with it. The King is dead - hail to the King, baby.
Tumblr media
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Multiplatform, August 23rd
The piss-tinted prequel to 2000′s excellent conspiracy RPG Deus Ex, Human Revolution is like smashing Robo-Cop into a world where Detroit is not a humanitarian disaster zone. Adam Jensen, the gravelly-voiced biomechanically enhanced security chief of David Sarif, is dragged into a world of American conspiracies involving FEMA death camps, the government enforcing martial law in US cities and massive Chinese conglomerates plotting to control the world. Just like real life! DXHR is my favourite in the series for its design, atmosphere and narrative.
Tumblr media
Dead Island - Multiplatform, September 6th
Eh. Wasn’t that good. Notable for having the most misleading fucking trailer since Metal Gear Solid 2, but nowhere near as fulfilling upon release. An open world zombie survival game with a focus on melee weapons more fragile than your granny’s second hip. Oh great, now there’s a dead kid on my page. Thanks, Techland!
youtube
Driver: San Francisco - Multiplatform, September 6th
A game you literally can’t buy anymore, DSF was incredible to play when it came out and has only really gotten better with time. It’s still so unique for a driving game that I’m surprised Ubisoft have had the good sense to just leave it and not go pants-on-head retarded with the franchise since. Nick Robinson had to buy Subway gift cards just to purchase this game.
Tumblr media
Batman: Arkham City - Multiplatform, October 18th
Arkham City was so cool at launch and it still is today. A proper Batman epic with twists, turns, and the most addictive combat arena for years. This whole thing is gold from start to finish, except for the Harley Quinn DLC. I can’t even go into detail about it here, but I fucking LOVE this game.
Tumblr media
Sonic Generations - Multiplatform, November 1st
Sonic Generations is the best Sonic game since 3 & Knuckles, but has now unfortunately convinced Sega that not only do people despise the Adventure games, they also really want to see Classic Sonic and Green Hill EVERY GODDAMN DAY. Generations is like a proper celebration of Sonic’s history, even including stuff from every reviewer’s favourite punching bag Sonic 2006 - I really like Generations and it has a stellar modding scene on PC.
Tumblr media
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception - Sony PlayStation 3, November 1st
The “finale” of the Uncharted series until Naughty Dog decided it wasn’t. Uncharted 3 may not be as tight as Among Thieves, but it’s just as enjoyable. As quipping invincible action hero Nathan Drake, you’ll ruin historical artifacts and “incapacitate” about 4000 guys in your quest to find Iram of the Pillars, chased by Cruella de Ville and her mercenary squad of a million faceless Englishmen.
Tumblr media
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Multiplatform, November 8th
God I was so excited for this. World War 3 never looked cooler, and then it came out - and it wasn’t that good. It didn’t feel as epic as MW2, not as well-written as MW, and not as interesting as World at War and Black Ops. Multiplayer was... fine? I think this is the point where most people realised that Call of Duty was basically downhill from here.
Tumblr media
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Multiplatform, November 11th
See this paragraph? You can read it. Another installment in Bethesda’s cross-franchise “Little Lies” series, Skyrim has been released more times than China’s created a pandemic. But it’s still really good and when you rub it the right way it comes all over your screen like a particularly excited storyteller, ready to point in the direction of adventure.
Tumblr media
Super Mario 3D Land - Nintendo 3DS, November 13th
Yeah this was the point I decided I wanted a 3DS. It looked incredible and so fluid, and it really was! Playing this was great fun. That’s really all there is - I can’t be funny about it, nor overly critical. What do you want from me?
Tumblr media
Assassin’s Creed: Revelations - Multiplatform, November 15th
I didn’t like this when it came out - I thought the new graphic style was bad, Constantinople was dull, and the music was too different. Ezio was angrier, older, and the complete lack of any supporting cast from Brotherhood had me thinking this was a game that nobody wanted to work on - but now that I’m older, I can see this for how good it really was. Revelations blends the Ezio and Altair stories together, culminating in a satisfying emotional climax.
Tumblr media
Saints Row: The Third - Multiplatform, November 15
This video speaks for itself.
youtube
Minecraft - Windows, November 18th
There’s something beautiful about those early builds of Minecraft. Quiet, unassuming, and riddled with potential for exploration. I could talk for hours about the first time I was thrown into Mojang’s survival experience, about how I still get a bit weepy hearing Wet Hands by C418, about how shit-scared I still am of the mines and caves. Minecraft is immortal, and always will be.

I remembered a really goofy AU I dreamed up over the summer and I’m probably not gonna get around to doing all the art I wanted to do for it so let’s just talk about it instead. Let’s just chat about my Ace Attorney/Breath of the Wild AU.
(You all know me. You can’t be surprised by now.)
I have never actually played a Zelda game besides BotW, and I’ve cobbled this all together from only a few vague glances at the wiki. Just like, just work with me, okay.
THE MAIN CAST
Phoenix: a young Rito bard-in-training who leaves his training and the village in a quest to become a warrior and save his childhood friend, who he’s only now discovered did not so much “move away” as he was instead “kidnapped”. (Birdnapped? Hatchling-napped?)
Dahlia: a beautiful young Gerudo con artist who claims to be out traveling Hyrule searching for a husband, but has a tendency to rob men blind and leave them for dead - if she doesn’t leave them actually dead.
Mia: a Gerudo warrior who rescues Phoenix from Dahlia and takes him under her (metaphorical) wing to train him to fight. She’s out traversing the land searching not for a husband, but for her long-lost mother.
Maya: Mia’s sister, a young Gerudo magic-user training to become chief of all the Gerudo - all the ones in her tiny far-from-the-desert village, anyway. She is, how do you say, really fucking bored with it, and craving a life of adventure, she tags along with Phoenix.
Pearl: a very young and powerful Gerudo magic-user, and Maya and Mia’s little cousin. Maya rescues her from her cruel mother and takes her along with her and Phoenix on their world-traveling adventures.
Miles: a Rito warrior and Phoenix’s childhood friend, taken in and trained in the arts of war by his father’s murderer. That truth, when he finds out, shakes him to his core and sends him on a journey of self-discovery.
Franziska: a Hylian soldier, and Miles’ sister. The fact that her father is a cold-blooded murderer upended her life as well, but she loves her “little” bird brother more than her father and she herself has run off trying to track Miles down.
Gumshoe: a Goron traveler sworn to help Miles after Miles saved his life. He’s very friendly to Phoenix, Maya, and Pearl, and Franziska, but wishes they would all get along.
Godot: a Rito warrior forcibly retired and grounded after losing his sight in a fight with Dahlia. He loved Mia and resents Phoenix, thinking she wouldn’t have been killed if she hadn’t taken on dead weight.
-
Also I drew Phoenix
Tumblr media
Anyway, so the main plot of this, as you may be able to gather, is that Phoenix, kind gentle and naive, finds out one day that his best friend from childhood actually wasn’t just adopted by a Hylian warrior who found Miles after his father was killed by monsters on the road. No, said Hylian warrior killed Miles’ father, stole Miles - thinking that having a warrior who is loyal to him and able to fly is a good deal - and just fucked off and got away with it all these years. Knowing this, Phoenix bids his home village adieu and sets out to learn to fight and find Miles and kick Manfred’s ass.
The first person that Phoenix meets is Dahlia, and they travel together for some time before she tries to pull her usual “rob him and murder him” modus operandi when dealing with a man, but Mia steps in and saves Phoenix. Phoenix thus ends up tagging along with Mia for a while, learning to fight from her, but she is unfortunately killed on the way back to her home village. Phoenix continues the rest of the way there to bring the news to her sister, and then he gets embroiled in some local Gerudo politics. (Like, local-local, like tiny village in the mountains on the other side of the continent from the desert politics.)
After this detour, he sets off again with Maya and Pearl in tow, all three of them with a renewed vow to find Miles or die trying. They end up meeting Franziska, who really doesn’t like them, but they learn from her that she’s Miles’ adoptive sister, she and Miles both know the truth of Miles’ father’s death, and Miles ran away first and she’s also looking for him. They don’t stick together, but because they’re both on Miles’ trail, they keep running into each other and butting heads. Gumshoe is also in and out of the picture.
Anyway eventually they find Miles and form the weirdest mercenary band anyone has ever known: two Rito, two Gerudo, a Hylian, and a Goron. Godot’s just dicking around somewhere in the background this whole time I don’t know when they meet him or where he ends up going.
Also, characters whose places in the story I haven’t thought out yet but I don’t want to not mention them at all, so.
Kay: Rito
Sebastian: Goron
Lang: Zora
Ray: Rito
Courtney: Hylian

Stay tuned (or not) for the next-gen cast.

Heeey, are you a gamer? I think in one of your latest posts you talk about some game. What are your all time favourite games then??
Oh shit finally I can publicly announce my bottom nature, I am a very casual gamer who sucks at every fucking game in existence, and I barely play, and when I do, it’s on the easiest difficulty and/or with the enemy AI turned off if possible for maximum peace on my ass. But here I go with my newfound fame questions eh
Skyrim is forever The Shit for all the old reasons: atmosphere, adventures, explorations, the ability to turn off enemy AI, just a classic of our times
Mass Effect trilogy (ok maybe minus the first game that gave me cancer): the first game that made me cry like a bitch, the second game is a fucking masterpiece with all these characters, quests that actually vary somewhat, and idk that cozy atmosphere of us against the entire galaxy, it was very nice. I even played ME3 multiplayer and that was the closest to me not sucking at a game (i still did massively). Their take on the horrors of the war was truly one holy shit material for my heart, but lmao that ending. I did three playthroughs and I stopped my most beloved one right before the two final missions because I am not supporting this piece of shit, not even with the patch. Literally never finished the game because of that with that safe, and andromeda had only cemented my reasoning. Also Tali and Liara are overrated.
Ace Attorney ofc, a very quality game series, 15+ years and still going strong. Every game we have new strong narratives, cool characters, increasing feelings and shit you can show in a nintendo game, new mechanics get introduced, the plot gets wilder and wilder, all the stuff. The characters are great, everything is fun, obvs has its flaws, but I still love the quality and the emotion of it all. Also Manfred von Karma is deadass my favorite character.
GTA, all of them. Go on a vehicle woosh punch a gran crack hire a hooker squelch do a trick +100$ wasted 10/10
ALSO SH CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS BEST FUCKING HOLMES GAME IN EXISTENCE 10/10 EXTREMELY PERFECT ALL PLAY IT
also the shadow of the colossus that i’ve never played but gotdeng it’s amazing
