Star Wars Femslash Bracket Round 2

Just realized there’s two genres of lesbian Star Wars ships I have

1. Built on deep love and respect. Trust each other the most out of anyone. However even that isn’t enough, circumstances forced them apart, and they have to let the girl go for the sake of their job, life and a little bit for the mental health but a part of you still loves them despite everything and know you always will, it’s just right person wrong time

Ex: Sabédala, VelCinta, Barrisokka and Kaesoka, Blyla (I saw lesbian Blyla and transbian Bly and I’m obsessed now), Syl and Jordanna would fall into this but they stopped being disaster lesbians long enough to have actually fixed it

2. Started as enemies but felt a deep kinship despite that tension, slow burn, found their home in each other, despite everything going against them, including their own self-sabotaging, they are able to push through and make it work

(so an AU where Padmé and co never found Anakin on Tatooine and consequently had a much more difficult time getting back to Naboo. The battle against the Trade Federation dragged out for years, and in the background, the galaxy fell to the Clone Wars with Palpatine rising to power as the Chancellor. In the chaos, Padmé ends up desperate enough to take on the proposed constitutional amendment to let her stay in power indefinitely and, when the Empire rises, Naboo becomes a lynchpin for the fledgling rebellion.

And Sabé becomes her assasin.)

"I know you," the Moff says. "I know what you are, girl. Do you think we do not hear the rumors? Do you think that just because we do not have the proof, we don't know what the Queen of Naboo truly is to the Empire? And you - " He spits - "her personal attack dog."

He laughs. "Doesn't it grate on you, handmaiden, to be nothing less than an animal at the beck and call of your precious Amidala? Have you ever done anything out of your own free will?"

Sabé lets the words wash over her like the waves of the lakeshore by the Naberries' villa. Lets herself remember the feeling of Padmé's painted lips brushing fleetingly against her own. There's this common misconception that the galaxy has: that Padmé is Amidala, and the handmaidens serve her unquestioningly. Padmé isn't Amidala. Amidala is Padmé's voice, Saché's poise, Rabé's gait, Yané's gaze, Sabé's heart. Amidala is a shadow, falling over the whole of Naboo, wreaking havoc on the Empire. Amidala is all of them, and Amidala is none of them. Amidala is their creation, and they are Amidala's prisoners.

And they wouldn't have it any other way.

At Sabé's cold smile, the Moff pales. He steps backwards. "Please," he says, and Sabé nearly laughs at how quickly he changes his tune. "I have a family. I have children."

It's a lie. She'd know; espionage was the first thing Sabé learned when she became a handmaiden.

But it wouldn't have made a difference.

So she really does laugh this time. "I thought you said you knew what I was."

She slits his throat like all the others.

both relationships tory enters in the show (tory x miguel and tory x robby) start with her trying to turn x guy away from sam which is really funny to me because like. the first thing she thinks of when going after a guy is SAM. not “wow I really like this guy!” but “HA you know what sam would HATE take THAT”

and also the fact that when sam and miguel kissed in s2 she was furious at sam, who was so drunk she couldn’t stand straight at the time, but barely spared a second thought for miguel, her actual boyfriend, who was dead sober. tory. were you mad that sam kissed miguel or mad that she didn’t kiss you JUST SAYING

Or, maybe Jedi General Anakin Skywalker is not as dead as the Rebellion thought he was. And maybe Luke and Leia, desperate not to be left out of the rescue, have inherited their parents' propensity for chaos. Just a little bit.

The Rebel Alliance briefing room is in chaos.

It always is, these days, but usually it's in a state of more affectionately-termed "organized chaos". Today is an altogether different madness. From far enough above that no one notices them, and actively shielding their presences enough so that none of the force-sensitives in the room feel the need to look up, Luke and Leia Naberrie-Skywalker hang on to every intelligible word.

"General Skywalker is dead—"

"—description matches him perfectly—"

"It's been well over a decade, even if he had survived then, it is impossible—"

"Anakin's always had a knack for the impossible—"

"—survived Order 66 then we would have known—"

"Agent Sabé's information has never been wrong before—"

"Enough."

The room quiets marginally. Padmé Amidala, Senator turned traitor to the Republic and General of the Rebel Alliance, steps forward. Ahsoka Tano and Obi-wan Kenobi, former Jedi dead on all official Empire records, stand steadily behind her.

Luke and Leia, perched in the vents, exchange an apprehensive glance.

"General Amidala, you must see reason," Mon Mothma says placatingly. "Obtaining the Death Star plans is of utmost importance right now. We don't have the resources to waste on such a treacherous rescue mission, not when it's likely nothing more than chasing ghosts."

"Or worse," Ackbar adds. "A trap."

"Rest assured," Padmé says smoothly, "that I have heard all of your points. But Sabé's information has been confirmed by multiple trustworthy sources. There is an extremely valuable prisoner on-board the Death Star, scheduled for execution, and he does match the allegedly late General Skywalker's description. Eerily well."

"And if it isn't him?" Mon Mothma asks. "We can't afford to send our best agents out for the sake of a 'maybe'. Not even for the father of your children, Padmé."

Even their mother, with all of her practice at keeping her expressions even and diplomatic, can't stop her gaze from narrowing sharply. Leia grips the bar she's pressed against more tightly, watching her knuckles whiten.

But it's Ahsoka that speaks this time, putting a steadying hand on Padmé's shoulder. "Any prisoner that valuable is worth our time, Skywalker or no."

"Ahsoka is correct," Obi-wan says. "Besides, it will be a simple reconnaissance mission, nothing more. Ahsoka and I will find the station and be in and out as quickly as we can."

"It's never that easy."

Obi-wan looks slightly affronted at that. "We are well-versed in these types of missions, Ahsoka and I. We will handle it."

But a puff of air besides her makes Leia miss whatever is said next.

"Shh," she snaps."I'm trying to listen."

Luke, attention torn away from the scene below, gives her an affronted look. "I'm literally just breathing."

"Well, you're breathing too loud. Cut it out."

"Oh, I'm sorry, your highness, I'll just stop breathing for your sake—"

Leia claps a hand over his mouth. Luke rolls his eyes at her.

Below, a murmur sounds.

The door of their balcony was open slightly.

She must've needed some air. Yané thought.

She got out of bed and grabbed a blanket sitting at the edge of it. It was cold tonight, Saché would be cold too.

She slipped outside quietly, there were lots of little ears that might hear her moving around.

She quickly found Saché curled up and pressed against the wall with her head tucked in her knees. She had another nightmare. Yané realised.

Ever since Padmé had died, Saché's nightmares had come back worse than ever. Sometimes it was twisted memories gone horribly wrong, sometimes it was her failing at her job and their queen suffering, sometimes it was horrible things happening to their family.

Yané hummed softly as she sat down besides her wife. Saché startled and let out a squeak, settling when she saw it was only her. It hurt Yané's heart to see the bloodshot eyes and tear streaks that seemed to highlight the bright red of her scars.

She lifted her arm in an offering, Saché nodded and they snuggled close together, Yané wrapped the large blanket she had brought around Saché's shivering form.

Saché leaned her head on her shoulder, shaking every so often, from the cold or her tears, Yané didn't know. She sat with her wife, humming her favorite gentle melodies into the night breeze.

"Nightmare?" She asked softly once Saché's tears had begun to dry.

"Mhm." She nodded.

Yané hummed and pressed a kiss into Saché's forehead. She never asked for details, Saché would tell her sooner or later, prying didn't help.

They sat there in comfortable silence for a while longer, observing the night creatures and stars. They lived far enough out from Theed to have less light pollution and breathtaking stars.

"It was you this time." Saché mumbled quietly.

Yané turned her head away from the stars and looked back to her wife. Saché was gripping the fabric of her nightgown tight in her hand.

"It was you, they caught you. I don't know why or how or what you did, but they punished you for it. You were being tortured and there was nothing I could do to stop it! I didn't even know it was a dream until after I woke up, it was so real… I thought they were killing you… you screamed like they were…" Saché's voice trembled.

"I couldn't breath, I was suffocating, I couldn't even say anything… I was drowning." Saché cried into her.

Yané stared, she knew how vivid nightmares could be, she knew how awful Saché's could get, she knew all of this, yet it still hurt her and left her with nothing to say after.

She never felt like she had the right words for this.

She couldn't fix Saché's nightmares or her fears, no matter what she did they would always linger in the darkness of her mind.

Yané rested her head on Saché's and sat there with her wife until something came to her.

"I don't know what the future holds, but I know we'll adapt and overcome any challenges it has together, just like always." Yané said, kissing Saché's forehead gently.

Saché relaxed against her, Yané felt the tension leaving Saché's body. Together they looked up at the grand display of stars, countless other planets and suns with their own populations and countless lives on or dependent upon each one. It was a little existential to think about and often, Yané did, but right now, she just looked up and saw an intricate pattern of light in the sky.

"It's like your weavings." Saché murmured.

Yané hummed in agreement.

"It's so peaceful."

"It is."

I really love Saché and Yané, I've been reading the Queen's shadow trilogy, and I really like it. I just want these two to be the one sw couple with a happy ending and everything is good and no damage and no one dead, just happy.

A GUIDE TO THE ROYAL HANDMAIDENS OF NABOO | via starwars.com (x) It’s likely you don’t know the names and faces of more than one or two of Padmé Amidala’s handmaidens… and that’s how they prefer it. Completely loyal to the young queen and future senator, many of her handmaidens even took new names once they entered Padmé’s service as a way to honor her. Their outfits were always chosen to complement Amidala’s, often with hoods to obscure their faces. The Naboo handmaidens hold a unique place in Star Wars lore as bodyguards, wardrobe attendants, and political aides. Their bravery is even more impressive once their youth is taken into account; the youngest handmaiden was all of twelve years old at the start. For their loyalty to and love for Amidala alone, they deserve some time in the spotlight. Spoiler warning: This story contains minor details and plot points from the book Star Wars: Queen’s Shadow.

Sabé While never mentioned by name in the films, Sabé is one of the handmaidens most well-known to fans given her prominent status as the decoy queen in The Phantom Menace. Padmé and Sabé worked together to develop a voice for Amidala to help add another layer to the deception begun by their resemblance and the elaborate dresses and traditional make-up. All six women also created a code (verbal and non-verbal) so they could communicate unnoticed. Sabé had a particularly close friendship with Padmé and was the only handmaiden to remain in Amidala’s service after she left the throne. (Out of Universe: Sabé was played by Keira Knightley and was such a close physical match for Natalie Portman that even the actresses’ mothers couldn’t tell them apart when dressed as Queen Amidala.) Rabé The only handmaiden to have lines as herself in The Phantom Menace, abé accompanied her queen off of Naboo on the mission to Coruscant. She served as the queen’s wardrobe mistress and an artist with hairstyles, ensuring that every piece of the queen’s wardrobe could protect her in addition to being beautifully crafted. Nothing in the wardrobe was without function. Her talents at reading body language and lips were equally useful to the queen over the years. She went on to study music at a prestigious academy in Theed after Amidala’s term as queen came to an end. (Out of Universe: Rabé was played by Karol Cristina da Silva.) Eirtaé With bright blond hair, Eirtaé was the easiest to distinguish from her fellow royal handmaidens especially during the rare occasion when they appeared without their hoods. She also accompanied Amidala to Coruscant, helping to maintain the decoy illusion even while the ship was on Tatooine. Eirtaé fought in the Battle of Naboo alongside Sabé, Rabé, and Padmé herself. After she left Amidala’s service, she pursued her love of art and science. (Out of Universe: Eirtaé was played by Friday “Liz” Wilson.) Saché Although Saché was the youngest among the original handmaidens, her bravery was never once called into question. Left behind on Naboo, she helped protect the members of the Royal Security Forces at tremendous personal cost. It earned her their loyalty forever. After Amidala’s term ended, Saché followed in the queen’s footsteps and entered the political arena. (Out of Universe: Saché was played by Sofia Coppola. She’d asked George Lucas, a close family friend, if she could observe the set and he offered her the chance to observe while also playing one of the handmaidens.) Yané Yané also remained behind on Naboo at the queen’s instructions during Amidala’s desperate mission to Coruscant. Alongside Saché, she helped the resistance there and did what they could to fight back against the droid invasion. She often volunteered her time to help Naboo’s orphans, devoting even more of her time after leaving Amidala’s service. (Out of Universe: Yané was played by Candice Orwell.) Cordé With Sabé assigned elsewhere, Padmé found herself in need of a new decoy even though senators traditionally did not have handmaidens. Of the three handmaidens brought into her service as a senator, Cordé was the closest physical match despite being slightly taller. She perfected Amidala’s voice to the point that even a voice identifier couldn’t tell the difference. Ultimately, Cordé gave her life when a bomb meant for Amidala blew up their starship in an attempt to stop the senator from voting on the Military Creation Act. (Out of Universe: Cordé was played by Veronica Segura) Dormé Dormé had gone through security forces training with Gregar Typho and remained at the Academy to go through a modified version of handmaiden training. When Padmé accepted the Senate seat, he immediately recommended Dormé as a potential new handmaiden. She took over as wardrobe mistress and built upon Rabé’s past work to ensure Amidala’s wardrobe was both appropriate for her new role as senator and offered physical protection. Her duties also included applying Cordé’s make-up to make her an even closer physical match for the senator when she served as decoy. After multiple attempts on Padmé’s life forced her to return to Naboo accompanied by the Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, Dormé remained behind on Coruscant with Typho in an effort to make her enemies think the Senator was still there. (Out of Universe: Dormé was played by Rose Byrne in one of her first roles.) Versé Versé was the niece of Mariek Panaka who recommended her for the Senator’s new cohort of handmaidens. She was an extremely talented slicer who used her talents in Amidala’s service in more ways than one. Versé also lost her life to the same bomb that claimed Cordé right before the start of the Clone Wars. (Out of Universe: Versé was played by Avril Wynne.) Teckla Minnau The first of Amidala’s handmaidens to not take a name ending in é, Teckla Minnau was first properly introduced in The Clone Wars although she appeared as an attendant at the Lake House in a blink-and-you-miss-it moment in Attack of the Clones. She provided both moral support and perspective to Padmé, helping strengthen her resolve to fight a military spending bill. Later, she accompanied Amidala on a mission to Scipio where she was killed by a bounty hunter who was trying to stop them from discovering an embezzlement scandal. (Out of Universe: Teckla was voiced by Ashley Moynihan.) Duja The newest addition to the list of handmaidens, Duja was first mentioned in Thrawn: Alliances. She entered Amidala’s service sometime after she joined the Senate as she and Padmé mourned the death of Cordé together after the bombing but left it prior to the end of the Clone Wars. She died on Batuu while investigating a Separatist factory on Mokivj, prompting Padmé to travel out to the distant planet to figure out what happened to her. Karté Even less is known about Karté who has so far only appeared in the Forces of Destiny episode “The Imposter Inside” and its supporting materials… and for the most part it wasn’t even really her! A clawdite bounty hunter stole her identity to get to Padmé at some point during the Clone Wars. Moteé and Ellé Moteé and Ellé served Senator Amidala during the final days of both the Republic and her life. Moteé accompanied her to the Senate for Palpatine’s speech in which he declared himself Emperor. Ellé’s scenes were ultimately cut from Revenge of the Sith, but she still appears in the novelization. (Out of Universe: Moteé was played by Kristy Wright and Ellé was played by Chantel Freer.)
