hii, could you pray that i actually start going to mass? i'm the only one in my family that believes in Catholicism (getting baptised in november!! so excited!) and while they do agree to take me to mass if i want to, i always feel a bit intimidated and end up not going :(, i think i would really benefit from going and spending time with God, so i could really use some prayers
thanks q lot ♡ have a blessed day 🕊
I will keep you in my prayers!
It can be intimidating especially if you are the only one going alone, and so new to it. My best advice is: don’t rush the process. You are not required to be perfect and know all that there is in order to go to Mass or to be baptized. The beauty of the Catholic faith is that we are always like students.
Sit in the back pews when you go and don’t let your worries scare you. No one should stop you at the doors (if they do it’s mean, find another Catholic Church). Sometimes a Mass won’t be perfect either, with distractions around us from people talking, babies and children crying, a cellphone accidentally not being on silent, maybe the homily isn’t so helpful or good, sometimes readers will read the wrong page or they may not say what page to read or sing, maybe the people around you won’t smile. Don’t worry.
Jesus is truly present body, blood, soul, and divinity in the consecrated Eucharist. He’s in that very tabernacle at the altar and waits there for you, He waits there in the Communion hosts and wine, He waits in the monstrance at Eucharistic Adoration. Jesus loves us so much He gave His life to pay for the penalty of our sins, and He loves you. If you feel intimidated, there is also livestreams of Mass you can go to online to help you get a better idea of the Mass. if you are in RCIA, definitely ask any questions you have and they will help ease any doubts or questions you bring up, and welcome you with open arms.
.//////////.//////////.//////////////////
Things I recommend that may help you (not to overwhelm you but to give you ideas):
- read the Bible (start with the Gospels of the New Testament). You don’t have to read big chunks but try a couple of verses a day. Try to read it slowly and place yourself into the story like a movie in your mind. This is a great way to meditate and pray on what is being said.
- Bible Hub is awesome for your phone.
- the Catechism of the Catholic Church is a great book that explains why we do what we do as Catholics—- even parts of the Mass. don’t be intimidated by its size. I use it as a reference book by opening the back index.
- try the Bible in a Year podcast by Fr. Mike Schmitz. He will read to you and help you see the Bible through a Catholic lense.
- listen to Relevant Radio. Download the app. Stays very close to the faith and they have past episodes you can listen to on a variety of topics!
- Watch past runs of Mother Angelica Live on YouTube. She was awesome at talking down to our level easy to understand.
- watch livestreams of Mass online.
- try sitting physically in the back of the church pews at Mass.
- try Mass at different times and locations. Sometimes that’s all we need is a change of pace, people, and scenery to help us connect better.
- if you have questions don’t be afraid to reach out to your Catholic priest. He’ll be happy to answer your questions.
- sometimes it can help us feel good if we invite friends, coworkers, or family to Mass with us. They don’t have to be Catholic to go with you either.
- if friends, coworkers, and family won’t go with you, I found a good way to find a sense of community in the church is seeing what events they do outside of Mass. Every parish is different. It can be as simple of coffee and donuts, a fish fry dinner, and a place and time to drop of food or clothing donations. Other events are longer like Bible studies, retreats, guest speakers, Rosary making, cultural events, volunteer events, etc etc. You may be surprised in who you meet!
- don’t forget self care. Take care of your health by getting good sleep, drink plenty of water, eat healthy, exercise, etc.
- don’t stop praying. You don’t need to do big complex prayers. Start small and simple.
- Eucharistic Adoration in person.
Remember that I love you and God loves you. May God bless you. 🙏🏻

THE POWER OF THOUGHTS
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are TRUE, whatever things are NOBLE, whatever things are JUST, whatever things are PURE, whatever things are LOVELY, whatever things are of GOOD REPORT, if there is any VIRTUE and if there is anything PRAISEWORTHY—MEDITATE ON THESE THINGS.
9 The things which you LEARNED and RECEIVED and HEARD and SAW in me, these DO, and the God of peace will be with you."
Philippians 4:8,9 (NKJV)
Tumblr media
• Your thoughts determine your state in life. The Scripture says: “For as HE THINKS IN HIS HEART, SO IS HE” (Proverbs 23:7 NKJV).
- Your thoughts make or mar you. Another passage of the Bible says:
"KEEP thy heart with all DILIGENCE; For out of it are the issues of life" (Proverbs 4:23 KJV).
- The position or the level you are today, is a result of your yesterday thoughts. Thoughts are the pivots on which a person's life rotates.
-            The Bible talks on what to think on and what not to think on (Philippians 4:8).
It is those things you permitted in your mind that become your thoughts.
• The origin of thoughts: thoughts are governed by observations, associations, and teachings.
(i) Observations: what you observed and retained the picture in your mind, will affect and influence your thought—positively or negatively.
- This is the reason why you should discipline yourself about things you watch on line, or on the television, and things you observe in other people's lives.
- Thus, whoever you are following as a mentor, should be someone who is following Christ. If the person misses it, do not follow that!
- Paul admonishes the Believers in Corinth and every believer in Christ Jesus: "IMITATE [follow] ME, JUST AS I ALSO IMITATE [follow] CHRIST (1 Corinthians 11:1 NKJV).
- Also, he told the Philippian Christians and the Believers in general: "The things which you LEARNED [through your association with me] and RECEIVED [through impartation and teachings] and HEARD [through my teachings] and SAW [observed] in ME [Paul], these do, and the God of peace will be with you" (Philippians 4:9 NKJV).
- As long as the person is following Christ, it is all right to keep following such a person (Philippians 4:9). Because, following is needed to get to where you are going in Christ, however, make sure you are following the right person—someone who is following Christ Jesus:
"REMEMBER THOSE WHO RULE OVER YOU [leaders in Christ], who have spoken the Word of God to you, WHOSE FAITH FOLLOW, CONSIDERING THE OUTCOME OF THEIR CONDUCT" (Hebrews 13:7 NKJV).
- Discipline your eyes, make a vow not to use your eyes to watch any evil—whatever is not edifying:
“I [Job] MADE A COVENANT WITH MY EYES NOT TO LOOK WITH LUST AT A YOUNG WOMAN" (Job 31:1 NLT).
- There is difference between seeing and looking—observing. When you see what cannot edify you, that can lead to lustfulness, then take your eyes away, do not look keenly.
- Seeing might not be a sin per se, but looking, closed observation, might lead to sin, because it will affect your thoughts negatively: "But I [Jesus] say to you that WHOEVER LOOKS AT A WOMAN TO LUST FOR HER HAS ALREADY COMMITTED ADULTERY WITH HER IN HIS HEART" (Matthew 5:28 NKJV).
- Thus, you will do well to uninstall that app on your phone, or on any other devices of yours, that is fanning lusts in you, or causing you to lust and masturbate:
9 Do you not know that the UNRIGHTEOUS WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD? Do not be deceived. Neither FORNICATORS, nor idolaters, nor ADULTERERS, nor HOMOSEXUALS, nor SODOMITES, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners WILL INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD" (1 Corinthians 6:9,10).
(ii) Associations. There is power in influence. The people you associate with tend to influence your thought life—positively or negatively.
- The Bible says: “Do not be deceived: "EVIL COMPANY CORRUPTS GOOD HABITS" (1 Corinthians 15:33 NKJV).
- Whom you associate with determines how you behave (Proverbs 1:10).
- What you see the people around you doing, and hear them saying or talking, could be registered in your mind—memory and later replay back to you at your time of relaxation or when you are lonely.
- Thus, you have the responsibility to guard your mind and sieve whatever would be allowed to go in there: "KEEP YOUR HEART WITH ALL DILIGENCE, for out of it spring the issues of life" (Proverbs 4:23 NKJV).
- It is better not to see and hear the evils being done around you, than trying to flush them out in your mind after being absorbed.
- If you stayed around the negative people, those who wallow in sin, you might come to realize that you begin to reason and think like them (Proverbs 1:10-29; 1 Corinthians 15:33). And vice versa, if you stay around the positive people: "HE WHO WALKS WITH WISE MEN WILL BE WISE, But the COMPANION OF FOOLS will be DESTROYED" (Proverbs 13:20 NKJV).
- Your Association determines your thoughts!
(iii) Teachings. The teachings you listen to, on line or radio, or read in a book, or a magazine; will influence your thoughts.
WHEN you are listening to someone's teachings through any device, or reading them in their books, you are rubbing your mind with that of the person.
- If you can listen to someone's teachings, their ideologies, for a good period of time, you will begin to think like the person.
- Avoid poisonous and contaminated contents: Junk, unedifying contents, on social media, or television, or reading books or magazines that could not edify you—help or contribute to your spiritual Growth.
- What you hear or read determines your thoughts. Whatever you programme into your mind, what you put into it, is what it gives back to you.
- Endeavour to put the right words in your mind, for you to have sound and good thoughts that could make you fulfil in life as a believer.
• Admonition
* What do you observe? That which you always look or explore will dominate your thought life.
* Who are your friends? Those whom you associate with, will influence your thoughts.
* What are you hearing and reading? The Teachings you listen to, or read, determine your thoughts.
• Stay Away
- Stay away from all places and things that do not support your conviction in God's Word, that do not contribute to your faith.
- You may even have to stay away from some so-called Believers, some who are unbelieving Believers, or certain gatherings; those who put out more unbelief than anything else:
14 DO NOT BE UNEQUALLY YOKED TOGETHER WITH UNBELIEVERS. For what fellowship has RIGHTEOUSNESS with LAWLESSNESS? And what communion has LIGHT with DARKNESS? 15 And what accord has CHRIST with BELIAL? Or what part has a BELIEVER with an UNBELIEVER? 16 And what agreement has the TEMPLE OF GOD with IDOLS? For YOU ARE THE TEMPLE OF THE LIVING GOD [If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour]. As God has said: “I will DWELL in them And WALK among them. I WILL BE THEIR GOD, And they shall be MY PEOPLE.”
17 THEREFORE “COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM AND BE SEPARATE, says the Lord. DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN, AND I WILL RECEIVE YOU.” 18 “I will be a FATHER to you, AND YOU SHALL BE MY SONS AND DAUGHTERS, says the LORD Almighty" (2 Corinthians 6:14–18 NKJV).
• What should a Believer think on (Philippians 4:8).
Fix your thoughts on what is true—honest—honourable, noble
just—right
pure—clean
lovely
admirable—good report
virtue—excellent
praise—worthy of praise
THINK ON THESE THINGS.
• As you work on your mind, you will rise, excel and fulfil in Life:
12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, THAT YOU PRESENT YOUR BODIES A LIVING SACRIFICE, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 AND DO NOT BE CONFORMED TO THIS WORLD, BUT BE TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND, that you may PROVE what is that GOOD and ACCEPTABLE and PERFECT WILL OF GOD" (Romans 12:1,2 NKJV).
- It takes a constant practice to make it done or happened.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
Peace!

Pillar of Fire and Cloud of Smoke
Today's inspiration comes from:
30 Days with Jesus
by Lysa TerKeurst and Joel Muddamalle
Editor's note: Friends, If you loved Lysa TerKeurst's 40 Days Through the Bible, you're not going to want to miss her newest Bible study, 30 Days with Jesus! In this 30-day workbook, you'll draw connections between the Old and New Testaments so you can understand the Bible as one complete story - and see that Jesus is never absent from the pages of Scripture. He's there, from cover to cover, in every part of the Bible. This would be a great Bible study to do through the holidays or at the start of the new year, and it's perfect for gifting! Enjoy today's exclusive excerpt.
EXODUS 13 / JOHN 8:12–30
"Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” — John 8:12
"Do you remember traveling on a road trip before using a map app on your phone?
If you can, there’s a high possibility you remember the days of printing turn-by-turn directions from MapQuest.com. Or before that, buying a printed road map or atlas! Oh, how far we’ve come!
Getting lost, missing exits, getting turned around... the confusion can leave us feeling so vulnerable.
It’s incredibly dysregulating and sometimes downright frightening to be lost. The Israelites most definitely felt this vulnerability and anxiety when they left Egypt. Yes, they were leaving the devastating hardships of Egypt, but every step took them deeper into the unknown. And the unknown can be a frightening place to willingly walk into.
God... where am I supposed to be going?
From the start of the Israelites’ exit from Egypt, God kept His promise not just to lead His people, but to be with them every step of the way.
01 Read Exodus 13:17–18a. Take note of the words in verse 18a, especially
But God led the people around by the way of the wilderness toward the Red Sea.
How does it make you feel, reading that God intentionally led the Israelites into the wilderness?
It’s hard to understand why God would intentionally take the Israelites through such a desolate place like the wilderness. Maybe today you find yourself questioning God in a place you find yourself in.
God... why am I here? God... where are You? God... what am I supposed to be doing?
God... where am I supposed to be going?
The wilderness wasn’t God’s punishment because He didn’t care. It was where God took them because He knew something they didn’t.
God knew going the shorter journey through the land of the Philistines was a greater danger to them in the long run. If the Israelites faced the Philistines, their fear might have prompted them to turn back to Egypt. Or, they might have been tempted by the idolatry of the Philistines and turn towards false gods.
God was not unaware of the needs of the Israelites. And God is not unaware of your deepest needs. The promise of God’s presence would carry the Israelites through what appeared to be their worst nightmare in the wilderness.
02 Read Exodus 13:21–22. What was the manifestation of God’s presence that went before them?
These manifestations served two important purposes:
... The pillars led the people in the direction that they should go.
... The pillars provided boundaries and protection for the people.
Let’s zoom in on the image here. The Israelites saw the tangible presence of God leading and guiding them day and night. Even though the Israelites cried out in complaints and weariness from the journey that felt purposeless to them, God’s presence continued to guide them.
Here is one of the challenges we face when experiencing unexpected pain and suffering: We can believe there is an underlying meaninglessness to what we’re facing. But through uncovering these details within the story of Israel in the wilderness, we see there is not a single moment of our hardship and hurt that is not used by God to bring forth a greater good and purpose.
God was not unaware of the needs of the Israelites. And God is not unaware of your deepest needs.
03 The question isn’t so much about the direction in which God is leading us — it’s about our obedience along the way.
Think about where you are today. What might obedience to God look like here?
The pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night didn’t just lead God’s people; it also served as a protective boundary.
The people always knew how far ahead they could go. This clear boundary gave them a visible marking of what too far would be. Too far would simply be to step in front of the pillar of cloud or fire, putting them outside or ahead of the presence of God and the pace of His leading.
04 Have you experienced the Lord leading you or revealing a boundary to you? What did that look like?
Jesus is “the light of the world.”
JOHN 8:12
When Jesus says He is the “light of the world” in John 8:12, it is a promise of orientation and direction. Just like the pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night provided direction for the Israelites, we have this same guide in the person of Jesus.
In the darkest moments of our life, when we feel unseen, disregarded or abandoned, we can remember that the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it (John 1:5). Wherever the Light of Christ is, there is hope. This isn’t just a good-sounding Christian slogan. This is truth. And sometimes it’s helpful to speak this out loud over whatever you are facing. Remember, lies flee in the presence of truth, just like darkness flees in the presence of light.
Jesus is “the way, and the truth, and the life.”
JOHN 14:6
Where there is the light, there is the promise of life. John 1:4 says,
In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
In Jesus, we find the life all of humanity longs for. And we can also be assured that Jesus will guide us along our way through the Truth of His Word and His presence.
Jesus is the “good shepherd” who promises to lead His people.
JOHN 10:11; JOHN 10:27
Sheep depend on the care and protection of a shepherd, and we can depend on the care of Jesus as our Good Shepherd. Read the words of Jesus in John 10:27–28:
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
This takes some humility to lean into His guidance, but we also need to grow attuned to the voice of Jesus so we can obey when He is speaking to us. In the hard, desolate places in our lives, it can feel like Jesus is absent. But if we take a moment to pause, be silent, watch, and really listen, we can both see the light of His presence and hear the comfort of His voice.
God’s presence never departed from the Israelites, and Jesus is with us even now. We pray today that you found yourself comforted and cared for even in the hardest place you could find yourself in.
Take heart, friend. He is with you."

3:45 am: I'm shopping the Safeway app for gluten free foods after taking my ambien. This is always the worst time for me to be on my phone. I heard recently that gorillas at the zoo get so fixated on people's smart phones that it's become disruptive to the whole... "gorilla experience." Signs have been put up in some cases, asking patrons to please leave their phones in their pockets. They should lend (well, rent, realistically) camera lens attachments that allow you to hide your phone while taking pictures. IDK how this idea really could be executed. This is the worst time of night for me to be on tumblr. What is likely to be even more disruptive for some folks is the metal detector being proposed for San Diego Zoo's Gorilla World exhibit.
My wife is snoring like a... hound with allergies and sleep apnea. So... I'm gonna raid the kitchen. I left a slice of gluten free pizza in the toaster this morning. The crust was too soggy, even though I baked it almost perfectly. I'll either check the instructions or try using a grate or whatever on top of the bacon sheet. I know I said bacon. We rarely rarely eat bacon. We don't keep any in the fridge. We'd end up finishing it before the week is over. But now I'm thinking about a bacon sheet. We'd cook our six slices in the morning for breakfast or brunch, and then use the grease for baking something. How about... quesadillas? Pizza. Grilled cheese sandwiches. Oh, chicken! Right? Add it when grilling some lean hamburger patties. See, this is what happens. Around 2:30 am, an app should lock up my phone until I've had at least 7 hours total of solid, real sleep. Or it's 9am, whichever comes second. I really shouldn't be on my phone at this hour. I really am liable to say anything. Well, I've never turned nazi, and I've done this quite a lot over the last couple years. I wonder how many people fancy themselves having absolutely no nazi qualities, but once you pump them with ambien (zolpidem, generic), they throw around racist epithets, talk about elective enthnic cleansing for parents-to-be. Neuro-conforming, blond haired, blue eyed babies, tall and muscular, smart but not too smart. Well, I'm talking about it. I don't like it. I'm against it. I'm only bringing it up to illustrate how creepy it is. See, if you make your white clone army too smart, they might overcome their nazi indoctrination. Especially the women. I'm not being sexist. I'm a man, and most of my best friends are men. See, I'm mentioning sexism only in context of not engaging in it. See, there are inherent differences in humans due to differences in testosterone levels. It's not so much that testosterone makes us stupider, it just makes us more suggestable when we are amorous and after experiencing sexual pleasure, and for much of the time in between, as long as one isn't amorous for too many hours, in which case we become too irritable and distractable to influence. We're more likely to fumble about and break things in a desperate attempt to do something productive in the garage, kitchen, or office. Or we'll be in the bathroom with the door closed for a while, trying to remember the hair and style of a classmate in 12th grade, along with any of their unusual facial expressions, particularly involving their lips and closed eyes. Oh, don't forget the tongue. She (or he) always let their innocent facade slip. But only to be funny, but then again not that funny. The humorous delivery was just an excuse for an awkward double-entendre, still out of character with her good girl style. I wonder what kinds of guys she hooked up with at City College. I hope they weren't all douchy. Maybe she stuck to good Christian boys at campus fellowship, or from Bible camp. Did they make out in the boating shack? Go to third base or 3½ in the back room of the nature center?
I'm quite peckish after looking at sausages and many other foods on my phone. My wife's done snoring, bad timing as always. I hope the one sad little slice of pizza does the trick. I'm out of lunch meat.

9/2/2023 DAB Transcript pt2
Introduction to the Book of Ecclesiastes continued:
And Ecclesiastes contains these musings of an older, wise person who has had nothing withheld from him and he’s reflecting back on the meaninglessness of all of it, without God. So, as we enter into Ecclesiastes, let’s invite the Holy Spirit to reveal where we’re chasing things, in exchange for the promise of a comforter life. Chasing things, like chasing the wind, expecting these things to do what only God can do. We might find like Solomon, that there is a time and a purpose for everything under heaven, and that maybe we've been chasing the wind, because Ecclesiastes shows us Jesus taught us. We can have the whole world; we can gain the whole world and lose our soul. We can gain the whole world and still have nothing and be empty. A fully achieved life by worldly standards, can still be lonely, anxious and depressed. Having everything without God is having nothing. And so, we begin Ecclesiastes chapters 1, 2 and 3.
Prayer:
Father, we thank You for Your word. We thank You for another week. And as the weeks go by, it becomes clear that there are fewer weeks then…then would, then have gone by already, at least on this journey, at least in this year of our lives, and we thank You that we can mark the time, we mark Your faithfulness, we thank You for Your kindness and patience with us as we continue to grow and be transformed through this process over time of being made holy and set apart to You. This process we call sanctification. So, we open ourselves to You and say, come Holy Spirit and continue to sanctify us, continue to transform us, continue to open our eyes that we might see. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prayer and Encouragements:
Hi DAB family, I need your prayers for my son. He is 18, he still lives at home. But he has been fighting me and my husband about church and God, the way that we’ve raised him for the last year. And now he has told me that he’s an atheist and he doesn’t believe in my God and he if he did, he wouldn’t serve Him. And my heart is broken, and I feel like I’ve failed as a parent. But I believe God’s calling me to just hand him over and trust Him and just love. Show my son love and show the character of God. But I need your prayers. I need, please God. Cover him, protect him, bring him back. And I thank You God for the prodigal son, because I’m the prodigal son and I have come back, and I pray God. I pray for all of our kids. I pray in Jesus name that Satan is stopped in his tracks. Please help us, Lord. Amen.
Good morning DAB family, this is Karen in Florida. I’m asking for prayers this morning for my dear young friend, Veronica in Canada. Veronica is my son’s friend. She is currently in hospital in __ bridge Columbia. Veronica is an addict. My son and her met while being part of the music industry in Winnipeg. She’s like a sister to him. My son was also an addict but by the grace and mercy of our Lord, has been clean now for over 6 years. It is only by the grace of God that he is okay. And for that I am truly grateful. But many other families are not so fortunate and blessed as I have been. I don’t take that lightly. I’m asking for my dear Veronica, for prayers. She’s suffered her whole life with traumatic events. She grew up with addictive parents. Her mother is now clean and living for the Lord. I know she is also praying. As a first nations woman, she has struggled her whole life to find her solid ground. Her beloved sister committed suicide. Many tragedies that most of us will never have to endure. Brian has been reading from Job this week. And one of the things that really stood out was how Job really wanted to hear from the Lord. All of his friend’s good intentions were not going to suffice. He needs to hear from the Almighty himself. Only God’s unending mercies and interventions can finally deliver Veronica. I only ask that you please pray that the Lord would intervene in a mighty way, that all the demonic strongholds would be broken in her life and that she would finally be set free. This may be her last chance. What seems very hopeless to me is not too big for our Lord. Thank you for praying.
Hey family, this is Prodigal. I’m calling to pray for Agent of Grace, called on the 23rd I think and, and I’ve heard prayers for you. So, I’m praying for you. But this is really for the husbands. The ones who are mistreating and abusing their wives, their life partners because they can’t see through the veil of alcohol. So, I was there bros. It sucks. And I was terribly abusive verbally and psychologically and I, in retrospect I was crushing the spirit of my angel. And that’s a terrible thing. Until one day, she simply was gone. Just poof, gone. And I was here and seven or eight years whatever, since she left. And that’s a pain every day. So, imagine that woman not there. And she’s better off happy with someone who really loves her and treats her well. And imagine if you called yourself the names you called her and treated her the way you, you treat her. Imagine being beaten like that every single day. And that ask yourself, is this worth it. Is this what Jesus wants? Am I, am I doing anything right. And I gotta tell you guys, it destroys you. It destroys everything around you. And you can be the aroma of Christ. You can’t even, all you smell like is burden. So, I would encourage you all to take a step back and imagine that space empty, instead of filled with a loving heart. Cause it’s gonna be empty. It’s the Prodigal, signing out. God bless you all. I love you. Bye.
Hi, everyone, it’s Kristy in Kentucky. I’ve been a little behind. As many of you know, my beautiful husband was diagnosed with ALS last year. So, our days are really busy. And we are just continuing to pray and believe in God’s healing for him. I wanted to call in today to say thank you to Brian, for your commentary, especially today when you talked about the aroma of Christ which Paul talked about in his letters to the Corinthians. I just wanted to say that yesterday, the 27th I was actually getting ready for my day and the essence, the aroma of honeysuckle filled the room. And I looked around, trying to figure out where it had come from and there was nothing except that I realized that it was the beautiful word of God that I was being enveloped in at that moment. Oh Brian, so today to hear that it just blessed my heart. So many times, I have been out and even just looked at someone and just seen the love of Christ on them. And like you said, a smile, I’d ask them, you love Jesus don’t you, and they say yes. It’s just amazing how the love of Christ can be exhibited through countless smiles, smell, aroma. Some of my favorites, patchouli takes me back to being a teenager. Always has been one of my favorites. Frankincense and Myrrh room spray, oh, family, it will absolutely change the atmosphere of the room. _ ah, got to be my favorite. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve prayed over someone and anointed them with Bitner oil, the same oil that Mary anointed the feet of Jesus with. Ah, the aroma. Christ, I pray that each of your feel His love today, in a very special way. I love you guys.

Principles for Navigating Life
How do you navigate life?
Do you intentionally choose how you live or do you allow others to decide for you how you will live your life?
Are you moving intentionally towards a goal or are you simply cruising with the current consistently choosing the path of least resistance?
I do not have life all figured out, but I am constantly correcting and adjusting my course. I often review my habits, take notice of how I am spending my time and energy and how I invest my precious resources (attention, focus, energy, health, etc). I hope that this post, briefly outlining how I tackle this topic, will help you navigate your life.
I have heard people claiming they are being authentic. Sadly many times it comes across more like an excuse for careless behavior. “I am just being me” can be the equivalent of “I have no idea why I did this,” or “it felt right at the moment.”
Maybe you have met people who later regret doing what felt right at the moment. I am not saying you will never regret your choices. But I do believe that with more careful thought you can significantly diminish your regrets in life.
Get a piece of paper, or a journal, or just open a note app on your phone and let’s make some lists.
What are your core values? (What do you value most at this point in your life?
Based on your core values, what does your authentic self look like?
How do you want to be remembered?
These questions are worth careful thought. I revisit questions like this about once a month. I want to live according to what I value, and if I do not ask myself this question frequently, I end up living my life according to the value of others. Your parents, your teachers, your friends, your boss, and your spouse, all have some idea of who they want you to be. Those are not necessarily bad things, but are you becoming who you believe you are meant to be or what others want you to be?
Whatever your choice is, just be aware of it, instead of mindlessly just going with the flow.
Now that you have given some thought to your core values and what your authentic self would look like, take a moment to list your top five priorities.
I wonder if I should share mine or not. I really want you to develop your own. but if you’re curious about mine I’ll list them below.
But I strongly suggest you not read mine until you have written out your top five or at least your top 3.
My current top 5 priorities in life are
God
My Wife
My Kids
My health
My ministry (career/calling)
When I list my wife and kids I mean their well-being, not that I would always do what they want. In other words, if my wife needs something, and I would rather spend my money on something else because it would be more fun for me, I would place her needs above my desires. The same goes for my kids. This does not mean I neglect my personal needs. If it ever becomes a life or death situation I am willing to die for my wife or my kids. This also means that I will not sacrifice the well-being of my wife and kids for my personal gain (career, fame, money, etc). Though I am willing to sacrifice my health for my wife and kids I am not willing to do that for my ministry. Does this make sense?
Also, I place my wife above my kids because it is better for my kids when my wife and I are together. I believe if I were to neglect my spouse for the “sake” of my kids, my kids would end up losing in the end.
The only thing in my life that outranks my wife and kids is God. Because of my faith in who God is as revealed in the Bible, I strongly believe He is worthy of all that I am and all that I have, I live for Him and everything else that is good in my life comes from Him.
This is where the rubber meats the road. Now that you have listed your priorities, with the understanding that your priorities reflect your core values, how much time and resources have you dedicated to your priorities this past week? What about this past moth?
Here is the challenge. If you claim to have certian values and priorities, but the way you invest your time and recources does not reflect those same values, you may have preferred values that are not actually real values. our daily habits and decisions reveal what our true values are. If you claim a certain value and priority, yet not allocate any time or recourse towards it, can you really say you value it?
This is tricky. You do not want to lie to yourself. I often think about this. If I claim my wife to be my number two priority in life and yet I did nothing to help her this past week, is she really a priority in my life? Same with my kids, how muhc of my time and effort was dedicated towards them? What about my perosnal health? My ministry? Most importantly God. If I claim God to be my number one priority, yet I spent little to no time in any type of spiritual activity is God really my top priority?
Write down what seem to be your real priorities based on how you allocated time, attention, and other resources this past week and month.
What kept you from investing in your priorities? (the ones you listed above?)
What changes do you need to make in order for your allocation of time, attention, focus, energy, and resources, to match your (listed) priorities?
The next step for me is to consider what the Bible has to say about life. I realize there is a whole lot that the Bible says about life, but here are some key verses to get you started. These verses do a great job of encapsulating the big picture in a succinct way.
With what shall I come before the Lord, And bow myself before the High God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, With calves a year old? 7 Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, Ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God? - Micah 6:6-8 NKJV
In your notes or journal write down what you think this verse means. Put it in your own words.
In light of this verse, should you make any changes to your priorities? Does this verse help you consider what your life goals are and how you plan to achieve them?
I find these verses also incredibly powerful and challenging.
6 “Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? 7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh? 8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. 9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’
“If you take away the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness, - Isaiah 58:6-9 NKJV
How does this verse impact your view of what life should be about?
Are there any things you wish to add to your priorities, goals, and daily routine?
I read these passages and consider my life and how much of these activities described by Isaiah are a part of my life, and if not what I can do to include them.
Consider what you believe God is calling you to do (in a practical sense) based on Micah 6:6-8 and Isaiah 58:6-9.
How can you live this out in a practical way this week? This month? What would your life look like?
Write it down in your journal or notes app.
Now let us add a verse from the New Testament. This is the last verse I’ll ask you to consider in this post.
What does “seeking the kingdom of God first” look like in your life right now?
What would “seeking the kingdom of God” look like for you this week? This month?
Now combine everything.
Your top 5 priorities.
Your core values.
When you consider what God calls you to do.
What should your life look like?
What are your life goals and how do you plan to accomplish them?
I pray that this exercise can at least get you started on living life more intentionally.
Let me know your thoughts on the comments below.

One of the easies sins to fall into, is idol worship, and no I’m not talking about statues or false gods, that’s a separate and deeper conversation we’re not having, what I’m talking about is when you wake up and roll over and turn off that alarm clock in the morning (whatever time morning is for you) and you pick up the phone, you have a choice, do you open your Bible app? Do you not even pick up your physical bible? Do you go to Facebook? Tumblr even? Any social media? Respond to texts? Check your notifications like the morning paper? It can very quickly become idol worship, and I struggle with not praying when I first get up so it’s not as though I’m judging, but we must work on this brothers and sisters, we must put discipline and dedication and purpose into turning to God as soon as we wake up, and stay in prayer, scripture tells us to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18)
Another idol that can be very easily taking the place of God in your life is a celebrity or influencer with a large following, people quite literally refer to them as their idol, and we must pray for people like this, we’re not perfect but our whole goal in life should be to emulate Jesus in every way and be like Him.
And the other sin that’s easy to get wrapped up in, is gossip, it’s everywhere, at work, at school, the nail or hair salon, the grocery store, YouTube, and even in church, yep I said it, even in church! And it can be difficult at times to navigate your way out of these situations when someone comes up to you and says “did you hear about Howard? He *insert thing here*” and some people are better at getting out of this than others and you know what it’s okay because we’re learning and praying daily (at least that’s my hope) and striving to be like Jesus

Reading and Reflection #6
Reading:
Chapters 15-17
Sean bumgarner
“Most critical was trying to understand the interface between image and text. That's really what defines a magazine: While the images are affecting your experience of the text, ultimately the headlines, heads, subheads, captions, and quotes drive the experience. Figuring out how to make typography impactful on such a small screen is critical.”
After working on logos and typography projects, I can understand the struggle with considering the difference between seeing it on a phone screen and a computer screen. Oftentimes when I look at a website built to be seen on a computer it is so difficult to understand when seen on a tiny screen such as a phone.
Michel chanaud
I can respect the ambition to bring something unknown into the known! With how he brought design to France.
“Technology influences the form but also the content. The sort of information you’ll find in our app is unlike what you’ll find in your magazine:”
Very true, the form of technology is very different from a paper copy. More vibrant, spacious and accessible.
John kilpatrick
“. It forces hard decisions to be made. And those decisions are hugely important to the way consumers interact with the product.”
Believe it or not, even regular traditional art you have to take into account how the consumer will interact with the piece, because if it’s chalk it’ll get everywhere haha.
“New technology is getting easier and easier to create. With today’s user-friendly publishing tools and robust open APIs, and so on. it’s easier than ever to make your own application or Web product. And with all this added competition, it becomes that much more important to design a user experience that stands out in this crowded landscape.”
As much as I want to create my own website, designing shows me how inept I am with technology haha, it is not easy for me sometimes.
Nicolas Ledoux and Pascal Béjean
“vinyl, or paper products replaced it with colorful flat icons, the navigational vocabulary of Apple’s interfaces is still old-fashioned in our estimation.”
A Lot of apps and brands are going for the simple approach now for brand icons compared to when they first appeared. At first I did not realize why, and thought it was taking the individuality of why, but after creating my own logo it makes a lot more sense. With so much going on the internet it may be hard to see or even understand if it was not in color or if it was on something small. It also makes the logo more versatile to use. Simple but you know what it is. So it is easier to remember.
Frédérique Krupa
“ So the game’s visual quality will shift from technological achievement to aesthetic experiences.”
Very true, people prefer perfection rather than raw emotion nowadays, even in the art world, some people would rather a perfect bright image than a traditional dark painting.
“ Game artists give visual form to the gameplay set up by the game designers. One of my students was a walking bible of video game knowledge, and I suggested that she think about going into the profession. She said to me, “I couldn’t. I’m not good at math.” To which I responded, “Can you write?” “
Video games are a huge part of humanity nowadays, everyone plays a game, whether it's on their phone or not. Haha I also felt that math part, I am terrible at it, but I sure can write and that should be good enough.

Randy J. Hunt
“other leaders at Etsy respected both design and my point of view, and that allowed me to use resources and have their trust in developing design inside the company and the community”
I use Etsy all the time! What a surprise to see it in this textbook! I should not be surprised though, It was just unexpected compared to all the bigger branded things listed in this textbook.
“As the voice of design for and within Etsy, I work to make sure design is part of our strategic discussions and informs and supports our decision making.”
The design of Etsy is very compact and full, I like it gives you a lot to look at but also can be quite confusing at times.
“These days I design high level strategy, and I design teams. From time to time, I have the chance to engage in more elemental design work at Etsy, and also in projects I do in my leisure time. I’m equally satisfied and fulfilled with designing all along that spectrum.”
I believe that this is highly respectable and impressive, I was student body president in highschool, and I did stuff similar just in a more hands on experience. It was always so fun, managing committees, leading people and teams to get decorations and events done for the school, I imagine it is similar for designing teams for projects.
Lucy Sisman
“I loved working in magazines. I loved the pace, the drama, the discipline, the diversity of my job—from quiet moments working on layouts; crazy deadlines and all-nighters; bullish, rowdy competitive meetings; long collaborative hours in the studio or on location inventing images—and all with someone else picking up the bill.”
I actually can understand this alot! Last year for my senior year in highschool I took AP 2D design, and I had to complete 4 pieces in 3 hours as my final, as I was so under pressure, but some of my most beautiful works came from those few hours. Plus I was so happy when I was able to finish on time. So I imagine owning my own business in it will be just as hectic!! I am mentally prepared for deadlines especially on holidays, and know to pay attention to shipping dates.
“There is something about working for somebody else that I just don’t like. “
I relate so much. I got a normal job, and I absolutely hated it, the ignorance of my managers did not help. Let me do what I know how to, I work faster when left alone. Unfortunately, that is not the scene you get at a job.
Reflection:
Project 5 was quite easy compared to past projects, there was not much to learning other than trying to make the pictures take up all the same space as each other and that proved difficult.
the picture that gave me the most pain was the rain boots, and the horse riding boots, since the background was not fully white, and the horse-riding boots were much larger than the others so making the image fit was quite annoying.

Yes, we are looking to hire a full time iPhone developer and have already conducted several interviews.
#Warfare 1917 cheats android#
( CTC hit #6 and Shift hit #4 on the Top Paid App listings)Īny plans to expand full-tilt into the iPhone market? Perhaps develop original titles for that platform? What about Android and other mobile devices? I provided constant feedback on CTC and Shift as they were ported to the iPhone and I was exceptionally pleased with how they turned out. How involved were you with the process? Are you pleased with how they turned out? I think the industry will continue to grow as more and more households get broadband access and as people continue to look for quality entertainment that’s better value for money.Ī couple of your Flash games, Shift and Crush the Castle, have been ported to iPhone. I think Flash games, in the next three years, will become more social as developers learn to take advantage of social media. Most smart phones will support Flash in the future, and we’ve already built a mobile version of our website that users can visit. We just attended the 2nd Annual Flash Gaming Summit and it was exciting to see all the new features Adobe is planning to release in CS5. The flash industry is very healthy right now. Overall, how healthy is the Flash games industry right now? Where do you see it evolving to in a year? Three years? Good flash games should always have quality sound, great playability and should create an experience that draws the user in from the very first click. Originality, a huge fun factor, playability and presentation. What are some of the cornerstones of your game design philosophy? What makes a “good” Flash game? Our games have to be both fun and suitable for teenagers. We that they have a passion for games, an understanding of Action Script and the ability to work well as a team – simple stuff. What criteria do you have for recruiting new Flash developers into the fold? What criteria do you have for accepting games to distribute? Living in Southern California gives us the luxury of amazing weather and it’s tough being confined to a desk when it’s 90 degrees outside and the beach is a 10-minute drive away. The biggest challenge of running Armor Games is being in front of a computer 8 hours a day. Even though we operate on the Internet, we have a company office in Irvine with a full workforce. Your website (company) is open 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, 365-days a year. One of the advantages of running a virtual company is the hours. What are some of the advantages of operating a virtual company over the Internet? What about challenges? The second came from the Book of Ephesians in the Bible, where it talks about equipping the “Full Armor of God.” This verse has always been one of my favorites and the word “Armor” seemed like an appropriate word to build the company on. I’ve always loved stories involving knights, castles, dragons and any sort of far off adventure. The inspiration for Armor Games came from several sources – the first being the theme and niche market I wanted to go for. What was the inspiration behind calling the company Armor Games? Armor Games Founder Daniel McNeely took some time to chat with Gamezebo about his company, the Flash gaming scene, what’s coming up next for Armor Games, and what the deal is with all the elephants.
#Warfare 1917 cheats upgrade#
Founded in 2005, Armor Games has grown become a well-respected Flash developer and online games destination, producing hundreds of award-winning Flash games including GemCaft, Shift, Crush the Castle, and Upgrade Complete. If you play a lot of Flash games then it’s almost a guarantee that you’ve seen the familiar clanging-swords-and-shield splash screen belonging to Armor Games.

Ezekiel 12:1-14:11, Hebrews 7:1-17, Psalm 105:37-45, Proverbs 27:3
Today is the fifth day of November, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian and it is a joy and a privilege and an honor to be here with you today, as we gather around the Global Campfire and take the next step forward together and bring another one of our weeks, that we get to spend together, to a close. Which means that we will enter the first full week of this 11th month of the year, tomorrow. But regardless of where we are on the calendar, we are here to do something very specific, and that is to take the next step forward together on our journey through the Scriptures, that next step leads us back into the book of Ezekiel. We’re reading from the English Standard Version this week and today, Ezekiel chapter 12 verse 1 through 14 verse 11.
Prayer:
Father, we thank You for Your word and we thank You for another week. And the weeks are beginning to wind down. And that brings a sense of melancholy, but also a sense of excitement. We have some of the busiest weeks of the year that are, that are out in front of us. So, as we just mark where we are in time and look at what's going on, we thank You for Your faithfulness in our lives and we confess, yet again, our utter dependence upon You and our ultimate need of You and Your guidance and direction in our lives. We thank You once again for the gift of the Scriptures in our lives, transforming us, leading us on the narrow path that leads to life. So, come Holy Spirit and plant what we've read this week into our hearts. We look forward longingly, to all that You have yet to reveal to us through Your word this year, lead and guide us, we pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

We have been talking about what's going on around here because it's, it's been kind of release week for a brand-new resource here in the Global Campfire community. It's called Sleep, A Contemplative Journey and it is a resource that is designed to create space and that musical space and atmosphere for rest, for calm, for drifting away into a peaceful, restorative sleep. And that is something that we each need and that is something that will be challenged as we move forward into the more busy portions of the year, even the most stressful portions even though they’re joyous, some of the most joyous moments in the year, leading up to and around all of that can be an awful lot of stress, trying to figure out an awful lot of things and that can find its way into our sleep. And so, this resource has been created to give us space, it feels restful, it feels calming and that just kind of lulls us into a deep, restorative sleep. So, that resource is available now, came out this week. It is available wherever it is that you stream your music or purchase your downloadable music like iTunes, etc. worldwide, all the different distributors, all the different streaming services throughout the world should have Sleep, A Contemplative Journey. And so, you can check that out and I hope that you will.

Prayer and Encouragements:
Good morning family, this is Inna from London. Praise God, we made it to November, today, the 1st, we made it to the 11th month. We praise our Father; we thank Him for bringing us so far. Oh Brian, I waited yesterday, up till midnight, to get my copy of Sleep, because I had pre-ordered it. So, I used that yesterday. I haven’t really, I’ve been off from work, I haven’t been able to sleep that much. You know, so I’ve been off for over 4 weeks now. So, yesterday, oh goodness sake. I waited until midnight to get my copy. I don’t even know how long I was listening to sleep before I feel asleep. And I woke up in the middle of night and just put it on again. It’s so soothing. My goodness, it’s so soothing. And hearing your voice Brian, just put me to sleep. Oh, I haven’t had this kind of sleep for a very long time. Because I toss and turn and turn the whole night. But yesterday, I slept like a baby. I’m just waking up now you know. I woke up in the morning and went back to sleep, it’s actually 11 o’clock. I’m just waking up now. This resource, guys, you won’t want to miss out. Everybody’s that’s having problems sleeping or just wants a soothing voice, go for it, go for it.
Yes, DAB family, praise the Lord, this is Pastor Steven in Southwest Ohio. Just wanting to call and give God praise for His continued mercies and blessings every day. And for all of you who call in, and I’ve heard so many requests, concerning of course many different things. And I just want to say, the Lord is in control. The Holy Spirit is leading and directing all of you. Even for those of you who seem to be downhearted and discouraged or physically not well. Just want to lift up a prayer for you right now. Heavenly Father, in Jesus name, and through the power and presence of Your Holy Spirit and by his precious blood, touch and heal and mend as only You can, and we’ll give you the glory. For every name that’s been called in, I lay at your feet. I thank You for Your blessings upon me and my family. And just give You all the praise. Look forward to talking with you all again and may God richly continue to bless in every way. Take care, bye bye now.
Hello Daily Audio Bible family, this is Ethan from the greater Phoenix area, Arizona, United States. I’d like to pray for the man who called on October 30th, the one who applied to over 300 jobs and just sounded like he was at absolute rock bottom. I, my heart broke for this man. I remember him saying he wanted people to pray that he, that God doesn’t wake him up in the morning or that God wipes his name and any joy associated from it, in the history books. If you’re listening sir, I am not gonna pray for that. I’m not gonna pray for that. I’m gonna pray for something else. I’m gonna pray that God renews your sense of joy, that shows that this time in your life, though is devastating and as unbearably painful as it may be, He’s not done with you. You’re still valuable to Him.
He Daily Audio Bible Family, this is Joyful James and just wanted to pray for Mikayla from Glosster. And just to let you know Mikayla, I really enjoy hearing from you. I enjoy hearing your voice and all that you’ve done with the Daily Audio Bible community. You truly are a gem. I want to lift up your family in prayer today. So, let’s do it. Alright Holy Spirit let’s go. We have a family that just needs You, Lord. Thank You for being about family. Thank You that family is not of this planet, it is of a Heavenly Devine system that You have created Lord. And when we have family and do family, it just pleases you so well. It’s a Heavenly design. I’m so grateful for our Lord. Thank You for this new marriage, even though it is a ten-year-old relationship, all that bounty and the open gates of blessing through submitting to You Lord, is truly amazing. We want to bless Mark and Sue in their marriage. Lord, and that it would prosper, and that prosperity would flow and trickle down into every aspect of their lives, their kids and their kids and their kids and so forth. We lift up Taylor right now, and his mental capacity to be only in the moment. I ask that he would, You would open his eyes to a more grand picture, Lord. It seems like when we get discouraged, we get so focused on just what’s in front of us. Lord, I ask that he would see and understand the great grand picture that You have for him, Lord. I want to life up his parents Jay and Kate, Lord, as they are leading and working with Taylor, Lord. Just their love being poured out in extravagant ways as parents, Lord, I thank You for that relationship. Lord, You are amazing and thank You for working in this family.

Car ride with Eren
A/N: I’m so annoyed rn- but I wrote this half asleep at 4 in the morning and actually liked it???? YOU GUYS SHOULD GO READ SOME TOJI FANFICS! THEY ARE SO GOOD OMG????
Song referenced: STREETSX VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL - XXKATUSJINSUX
♡ You and Eren were sitting in his car, riding down a dark road at 3:27am. The cars passing by were giving off a slight bit of light. Your head was leaned against the window, lifted off and tapped back onto it every time he rode over a speed bump.
♡ Eren’s hair was down, the window on the drivers side being down allowing the cool air to flow in and blow his hair back. A purple scrunchie sitting on his wrist along with his other bracelets he likes to wear while he’s out.
♡ You had gave him the scrunchie so he could tie his hair back. It was always an issue about it flying in his face while he’s driving, so you were nice enough to try and give your boyfriend one of yours but he wasn’t gonna listen and tie his hair up anyways.
♡ The car was silent, but the silence was the comfortable kind of silence. You didn’t mind not talking while taking drives like this past midnight. This particular car ride was later than others as you two were too lazy to get up earlier.
♡ The radio was playing in the background, so actually it wasn’t completely silent in the car. An aux cord trailed from the radio to your phone, which was sitting on your lap. The song playing was a song you both know all too well. Your sleepless nights on TikTok, scrolling video to video containing this sound.
♡ Eren is always awake with you on those nights. You both lay in the bed and have small talk while you scroll through TikTok. The sound repeating itself constantly until you close the app and kiss your boyfriend goodnight.
♡ You hear Eren humming along to the music while his eyes are focused on the road, his head lightly bobbing to the beat. It’s gotten to the point where he can listen to this song for hours on top of hours because of how much he hears it, he doesn’t mind.
♡ A small smile makes its way onto your face as you look out the window. A few tiny blobs of water hits the window, it’s raining. You watch them as they trickle down and disappear, not that more aren’t coming though.
♡ You both don’t even know where you are going, y’all just enjoy spending time together like this sometimes. Even though there’s no conversation, it’s still something you both enjoy.
