Who is Luzu?
Tumblr media
Luzu was just announced as a QSMP member, and since he's a very important character in Karmaland and a VERY important person to Quackity's character, here's a quick rundown of Luzu and his lore for folks who aren't familiar with him:
Luzu is played by LuzuVlogs, a Spanish Twitch streamer who's good friends with Quackity!
IRL, they're such good friends that Luzu once accidentally called his real life son "Quackity"
Luzu is bilingual and can speak English and Spanish.
Luzu's character used to be a very kind, friendly, and loving man who helped everyone
HOWEVER, during Karmaland 4 (the season before Quackity joined) when he campaigned to be mayor of Karmaland, he was betrayed and mocked by his friends and the person he loved (who then ran off with someone else)
Luzu before the elections vs. after the elections
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These two animatics sum up his K4 lore pretty well if you want an even shorter TLDR: Lemon Boy, Karma (an animatic approved by Luzu himself)
As a result, Luzu is a very vengeful, distrustful, and all around tragic character
Luzu canonically has an evil side, and he made a deal with "dark gods" in the past to take revenge on the people who've wronged him.
Despite all his past heartbreak and lingering anger, he immediately took a liking to Quackity when they first met.
Luzu and Quackity's Karmaland characters are parallels to each other
Luzu and Quackity were canonically in love with each other, but they were too emotionally constipated to confess their feelings despite their many, many, many romantic and borderline sexual shenanigans.
Luzu warned Quackity not to trust anyone in Karmaland except for him. But despite Luzu's deep mistrust of other people, he trusted Quackity immediately.
Luzu is a very possessive man, and very protective of Quackity.
He calls Quackity "Quacks" (both in and out of character)
He and Rubius have a long-standing rivalry, and they normally don't get along very well.
Luzu and Quackity had 4 (adopted) kids together.
When campaigning for mayor of Karmaland, Quackity asked everyone what they wanted most, and Luzu's response was, "I want you to be happy, Quackity."
HOWEVER, the day of the election, Luzu joined as an opposing candidate at the last second and stole the election from Quackity, fearing that the position in office might leave Quackity with the same trauma he had in a previous life (a life which he can only half-remember).
Luzu says everything he did, he did to protect Quackity.
TLDR: Luzu trauma-projected onto Quackity, who then started a revolution that nearly destroyed Karmaland in retaliation.
For a good TLDR of the revolution arc, “I Can’t Decide” is a good one to watch.
Even though he was furious with Luzu, Quackity told Rubius not to kill him. He’s referred to Luzu as “My 100%”, and “the best person I knew in Karmaland”, and even expressed his gratitude that Luzu was always so kind to him to Luzu himself, despite the war and despite knowing one of them would probably have to kill the other to end it.
Luzu said the song that best fits his character during the revolution arc is Bloody Mary by Lady Gaga.
Edit: This isn’t about the character, but I just saw what Luzu said in response to people asking him if he knew about the invitation:
Luzu: A mi Quackity me invitó desde hace bastante, me dijo si quería participar, así que llevo tiempo calladito, calladito, para no spoilear nada, aunque yo soy invitado no sé nada jaja, lo lleva todo Quackity, así que veremos con qué nos sorprende nuestro querido Quacks.
Translation: My Quackity invited me a long time ago, he asked me if I wanted to participate, so I've been quiet for a while, so as not to spoil anything, although I'm invited I don't know anything haha, Quackity takes everything, so we'll see what our beloved Quacks surprises us with.

how to write c!tntduo's characterisation, and where people normally go wrong
1. must be as invested as each other in their rivalry and must be invested for the same reasons
with their rivalry, you can't have it so one's doing it for attention and the other is just doing it in retaliation. they both want this.
you see c!wilbur purposely seek out somebody to help with his burger van business to piss c!quackity off, and then see c!quackity do the exact same thing. they both try to get at each other and are both super invested in their dynamic.
making their thing sort of 'unrequited' (or something like that) completely defeats how they both are obsessing over it and trying to win.
"but c!quackity said he doesn't think about c!wilbur at all!!!!!" c!quackity lies we know this. go watch this stream where he rants a lot about c!wilbur.
2. they are as worse as each other and make each other worse
they are both as bad as each other. they both hurt the people they love and don't know how to fix it. it's one of the reasons their dynamic works so well. they both have the a lot of the same problems, and when pitted against each other they amplify the others' problems.
they bring out the worst in each other, by agonising and indulging in their need to prove themselves - which ends up in them taking it too far and hurting the people they love (and not knowing how to fix it <- they try to learn this in their finales)
"oh but c!wilbur did-" "c!quackity did-" this is about their motives and how they interact with each other.
3. they hate each other. but also care
this one's hard to get, i don't blame you if you fuck this one up.
if you go back to the elections era, (im going to talk specifically about the white house stream and the elections night stream) you can see c!wilbur, while building the white house with c!q & c!tommy, that he "[felt] he really with Big Q [that night]." then, when the c!quackity says he is joining c!schlatt's party, you hear c!wilbur say "i thought [c!quackity] cared [about l'manburg] but..." showing that he believed when c!quackity said he wanted to better the nation.
then, later on in the stream where c!quackity joins pogtopia, c!wilbur brings c!q & c!tommy to the button room, yet refuses to press it once they both say they'll die if he presses that button.
finally, in c!wilbur's finale, he drags himself, a little shamefully, to las nevadas to make sure he apologises. and c!quackity leaves him his own book after his own finale. they want to make amends, because they care. their dynamic has had so much of an impact on each other, and they couldn't have just left it to get lost in the sand.
4. they are as smart as each other
c!tntduo are both very smart. c!wilbur is known for his silver tongue, being able to talk his way out of almost ever situation. c!quackity has been lying since the goddamn elections and has become absurdly good at it, getting what he wants out of people.
they're both also really good at figuring out what people want.
in the stream where c!wilbur recruits c!ranboo for the wilburger business, you see him go to c!phil first. here, you see him tell him that he's doing it for taking down capitalism and helping to stop gambling. but, when he goes to c!ranboo barely five minutes later, he tells him that its because he's changing and that he wants to get better. both of these are lies, we can tell because then c!wilbur just rants about getting back at c!quackity for the rest of the stream (really fucking slick king).
then, we see c!quackity do tactics like this to get people to join las nevadas. he figures out what they love or what's scaring them or what they have, and use it against them for his own greater purpose.
are these good things? not at all, this can go in the they are as worse as each other point as well, but it also proves they can both be very smart when it comes to social mind games.
TLDR; they balance each other out. they are literally yin and yang (refer to c!wilbur literally calling c!quackity his yang). they are meant to balance each other out. and they both want their dynamic equally.

reading the luzu post, yeah cwilb and kluzu are smilar in superficial ways but not in a character mirror way nor how they relate to k/c!quackity. i feel like people go off about it more becayse theyre both tall ""emo"" guys with red color coding and fucked up relationships but both have their own narrative ways of interacting with quackitys characters(which is why i love them sm<3)
So very true, they very much are only superficially similar. Tnt are much more like yin and yang whereas Beanie/lckity are more sun and moon if that makes sense. Tnt are lifelong rivals with sentimental feelings and a complicated past but whose lives went down very different paths and took them to different places- lckity are strangers turned close friends who had romantic feelings for each other that, for their own separate reasons, never got around to confessing and tragically turned enemies and ultimately back into strangers.
And while Luzu and Wilbur's stories have some pretty similar starting beats ( elections, betrayal, spiraling-) they are two different characters and serve different roles in their stories- Luzu's role in k5 is very much different then Wilbur's post revival.

🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
from Love Story III:
“It’s,” he says, and cuts off as Q’s fingertips trail down the tendons of his throat. “It’s— you’re my yang, Quackity. I don’t, I don’t have any other way to say it.”
It’s not the first time he’s said that; it’s not even the first time he’s said it tonight. Back behind the cabin, though, Quackity had flushed and denied it, said no, dumbass, other way around, yang’s the boy one. You can’t just say shit like that.
But maybe here we can, here together in one of the cracks in the world where the devil slips in. Here we’re too close for that kind of lie, wrapped around each other too much. It’s dark.
“Your yang?” It’s like Quackity’s testing out the shape of it, like we’re both rolling it around the inside of our mouths. “Are you gonna be my yin, Wilbur?”
We don’t know what we mean. We know exactly what we mean. Wilbur nods.
“God,” says Quackity, “there’s something fucking wrong with us.”

c!Tntduo's narrative dynamic is so, so narratively compelling. They have a deep rivalry, sure, and they're so extremely different as much as they're so extremely similar. Yet...when you think about it, really, they almost seem to complete each other.
Here's c!Quackity, a character who is very strongly driven by how alone and abandoned he feels, how left behind and how ostracized from his loved ones he believes himself to be. He says it himself, really. "I take care of those who take care of me. Why do you think I have no one around?" He feels abandoned and left behind by those he once loved, he feels like the people around him have all left him, that they don't want to be around him. In Quackity's perspective, (regardless of what might have actually happened) he was forgotten about by his two fiances, who left him and formed a new country without inviting him. Two of his closest friends either joined a murderous cult and became his enemy, or also left to be part of said country. Before that, Quackity had canonically been in an abusive relationship with a partner who belittled him and tried to diminish his self-worth, leaving him feeling on at least one occasion that he was in danger of losing c!Schlatt's love if he didn't be the exact partner that Schlatt wanted him to be. When Quackity learned that Karl and Sapnap had formed a new country, he said, "I should have known," as if the idea of Sapnap and Karl leaving him was highly plausible, to Quackity. Quackity is a character that feels alone, abandoned, and feels like his loved ones have all left him. He feels as if nobody truly wants to be with him, or to be around him.
And then there's c!Wilbur. Wilbur, who has canonically off-screen, numerous times, has waited at the Las Nevadas sign just for Quackity to come up and tell him to leave, but to talk to him nevertheless. Wilbur, who keeps the letter Quackity sent to him safely in his inventory, never putting it away, even rereading and glancing at it occasionally on-stream. Wilbur, who practically begged to be let into Quackity's new nation, even if it meant he had no position of power whatsoever. Wilbur, who asked Quackity to hang out with him, who built a burger van directly next to Quackity's solely to engage in a "rivalry" with him, to interact with him, who stood at the top of a hill waiting and spammed the chat until he was kicked from the server in order to get Quackity to notice he had arrived. Wilbur, canonically, has been shown time and time again to want so badly to interact with Quackity, whether that interaction is friendly or not, to have this "rivalry" with him, because it means he can be around him. Nearly everything Wilbur has done for so many recent streams has been to gain a reaction from Quackity, to gain an interaction from Quackity. It definitely isn't all that healthy, a lot of said interactions, of course, but it's still poetic in a way nonetheless. Quackity is a character that feels so alone, so abandoned, like nobody wants to be around him, and here's Wilbur, a character who legitimately actually wants to be around Quackity and to have this rivalry with him so much that it's an intergral part of his character motivation.
Speaking of Wilbur, Quackity is beyond fitting as a narrative counterpart to his character as well. It's been not only shown in canon, but stated by cc!Wilbur himself on Reddit, that his interactions with nearly every character on the server as of right now have made c!Wilbur feel, well, nonhuman. c!Wilbur personally feels as if he's walking a tightrope, as if those around him are treated him as a ticking time bomb, someone who's bound to "slip up" again and cause havoc. Shown by the Reddit post from cc!Wilbur, c!Wilbur feels that he is being seen as a "freak" or as "evil," and, despite him no longer being technically dead anymore, he feels dehumanized by this, supported by him saying he feels like he is "socially, still in Limbo." But then there's c!Quackity. Quackity, who, to Wilbur, sees him not as a "freak" or as "evil," but as simply unpredictable. Quackity, the one person that Wilbur doesn't feel like he's in "social Limbo" with. The one person that makes him feel human. And there's a similar situation here with the one mentioned earlier. Wilbur is a character who feels dehumanized by a community that he personally perceives and feels to be treating him as subhuman, as "evil," or a "freak," or a ticking time bomb about to explode at any second. And then there's Quackity, someone who doesn't necessarily trust Wilbur, but who doesn't see him as a "freak" as was stated in the Reddit post, who sees Wilbur as "unpredictable," a trait Wilbur himself believes is applied to being human.
c!Tntduo, man. They really are "yin and yang," as Wilbur himself put it. In a lot of ways, they're opposites, sure. Yet they're opposites that seem to complete each other.

Wilbur is enthralled by Quackity like actually. He gets such a kick out of riling him up, saying things like “He’s so petty. I love it.” and “I’m so excited.” when talking about being competitor against Quackity. He even went as far to say that Quackity was the Yang to his Yin.
Lets not forget when they first saw each other how happy Wilbur was to see him again after so long before all their pasts and goals came back to darken the conversation. He even wanted to live at Las Nevadas because he thought he’d be accepted here.
Wilbur loves getting Quackity’s attention whether he wants to admit it or not.

Bruh I just made a realization and I am losing my mind
Disclaimer: Of course, everything I write is about the characters unless stated otherwise.
So I was on Discord, as you do, talking with some peeps about Wilbur and how Quackity is paralleling him, and in the conversation I realized something that made me lose my mind:
These two are paralleling each other.
Let’s look at the evidence!
First, we have the whole fact that this arc with the burger van feels very nostalgic: Wilbur and Tommy starting something out of a van to stick it to someone. Then, Las Nevadas is compared to L’Manberg: [“It’s giving me L'Manberg vibes. Mhm. I said yes, I agree, it’s giving me L'Manberg vibes.” - (Wilbur’s Unhealthy Competition: 24:46, 4th Aug)], we have TNT under an important structure again, and we have Tubbo’s behavior being similar to the one he had in Manberg.
And I realised, because Quackity would be Wilbur in this situation, then that means Wilbur is paralleling Quackity.
Let’s see: Wilbur approached Quackity to join Las Nevadas, and Quackity turned him away. Still, Wilbur is interested in a rivalry and he decided to oppose Quackity. Sounds a bit like the Season 1 Election Arc, right?
Now, Quackity, who founded Las Nevadas, is having a very stressful situation that made him spiral into paranoia. He also had a traumatic way to lose his first life. And it just happens to also happen in the FCR, kick starting his current arc. Sounds familiar? It’s Pogtopia all over again.
Yeah. Oh boy, history is repeating. It’s not a one-to-one match, but it’s kind of rhyming. It’s kind of like a circle, they parallel each other’s arc, two arcs that interacted before... Kind of like a certain Ancient Chinese philosophical concept, eh? Yin and Yang. They complement each other, and there is always one in the other. Quackity and Wilbur’s arcs are always interacting somehow. And, look: they’re now complementing each other in reverse, they swapped places. Wilbur acknowlged Quackity as his Yang [“Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you. Don’t listen to him, Tommy. Don’t listen to him, Tommy. He’s as immature as I am. He’s, he’s um, he’s, I guess my, my yang. He’s the yang.” – (Wilbur’s A Deck of Cards with a Green Smile on them: 47:56, 31st May)]. And now he’s paralleling his arc. If Quackity is Yang, Wilbur is Yin. There is always Yang in Yin, and the reverse. The arcs themselves seem to follow this logic.
Now, what does this mean for the future? Well... Quackity has some foreshadowing that his end is near. He has mentioned that Las Nevadas is his last stand, there is TNT under his Casino, and of course there has been foreshadowing about someone jumping from the Needle to their demise. This would follow Wilbur’s arc, but let’s look at what else happened in Season 1: Quackity stopped Wilbur twice from pressing that button. Wilbur has been through paranoia and depression and suicide before, he could maybe see the warning signs and stop Quackity from doing what he himself did. Maybe this is his shot at redemption! We have to wait and see what’s coming.
The quotes, like always, are from @/kateis-cakeis’ masterlist of Wilbur and Ghostbur quotes.

Since it's a c!Wilbur kinda day(I say as if every day is not c!Wilbur day for me), any headcanons about him in particular you enjoy? Can be popular, can be unpopular, whatever you wanna share!
i would love to share i have So Many!!!!!!! please feel free to share yours too holly ^_^ i love talking abt him so much and u have amazing takes/hcs. ok so here's some happier revivebur specific ones
-revivebur started playing the banjo / harmonica / violin etc when he came back to life. he fills a lot of his day with music, all sorts of different genres. he missed playing for an audience, so he lets ctommy request songs. i think him and c!quackity should start a band together. if they did they'd probably always be trying to outplay each other though. c!wilbur would want to call it Yin & Yang, something cheesy like that
-his skin is so dry he needs lotion RN however his clothes are always a little soggy. he smells like Wet, cigarettes, grass, and pine as he spends a lot of time outside enjoying the sun.
-weve totally talked about this one before but i adore the hc that plants grow towards c!wilbur. if he's sitting in one spot for too long, or takes a nap in a meadow, he'll wake up with vines growing around his limbs. sunflowers will slowly turn as he passes a field of them. he can produce music from a grass whistle like nothing you've ever heard before. he's got a very beautiful garden growing in paradise because plants can't help but thrive under his attention !!
-last one but i could probably go on forever but he loves cooking for other people more than himself. this one is basically canon but. he gets a lot of joy cooking for a large group and seeing people genuinely enjoy something he created. i love to imagine all the characters getting along and having weekly potlucks at the snowchester mansion where c!wilbur goes all out on the dishes he brings to share :")

That time c!Wilbur said he and Quackity were like Yin and Yang is symbolically very interesting though.
Not because of the overt "thet are two halves of a whole, can't be without each other uwu" idea or whatever.
Because of the individual character connotations that come from Wilbur specifically describing himself as the Yin to Quackity's Yang.
Symbolically Yin has been associated with negativity, darkness, secrecy, cold, stagnation, absorption, chaos, earth, decadence, weakness, pessimism, severity, and death. By equating himself to the concept of Yin, Wilbur takes on association with these themes as well.
On the flip side of that. Symbolically Yang has been associated with positivity, light, openness, solidity, warmth, effort, strength, movement, expansion, love, mercy, heaven and life. By calling Quackity the Yang to his Yin, Wilbur points out ties that Quackity has with these themes as well.
Which is a very interesting moment of characterisation via narrative symbolism.

god i want to talk more about why c!tntduo gravitate towards each other
c!wilbur, who has lived in darkness for the past thirteen and a half fucking years, comes back to everyone avoiding him and no ever confronting him. people just dance around who he is, a villain, and what he's done, ruined their lives, except for c!quackity. c!quackity looks him dead in the eye, he challenged me! did you see him? did you see the look in his eye, and doesn't let c!wilbur waver him, immovable. he hasn't been treated like that for so long, hasn't been treated as human instead of a force to be reckoned with, chekov's gun. it makes him feel human, he makes him feel human.
c!quackity, who has been searching for scraps to build himself up, to create himself into a legacy. most days, he just continues on this path, trying to make his way in the world and to be seen. people have left him time and time again, and now c!wilbur is here and he is looking dead on right at c!quackity. people leave but this rivalry is burning between them and it is addictive. and c!quackity, a lonely, lonely man, can't help but crave it. he sees it as a way to build his path in the world and to be something powerful, something that'll leave a legacy.
they fill each other's desires, albeit not healthy ones. but they see each other in a way no one else does, they see their flaws and their power. they push and pull, both have light and dark in them . yin and yang

Phil, Techno, and Death
And their connections to each other
I’ve low key been thinking about Phil, Techno, and Death (Mumza) and had a realization
If Mumza is death and Phil is death’s angel then Techno should be death’s blade
Death
Basically it’s a popular head canon (and is somewhat implied canon by Phil) that Mumza / Kristin is death or the goddess of death. This is partially due to the idea that while Techno was referred to as the blood god during SMP earth, Phil was referred to as the Angel of death. It transferred over to the DreamSMP and it was brought up that what if “Angel of death” wasn’t an Angel who brings death, but death’s angel. And who better for phil to be an Angel to than Mumza.
Phil / Death’s Angel
A very interesting thing I found about Phil’s character is while he call him the Angel of death, death’s Angel, he has actually only killed one person (canonically) - Wilbur.
Wilbur I-Just-Blew-Up-An-Entire-Country-Please-Phil-Kill-Me Soot. It could honestly be described as somewhat of a mercy kill.
To me at least, Death’s Angel would be a much more merciful killer. Think the personifications of death that are merciful, that rock dying animals to sleep in their arms, lead scared children away from the living world with their hand in theirs. Death’s Angel is kind in death, a fatherly figure in ones last moments. Sounds like the kind side of Phil’s character.
As to the more chaotic side- he’s still his own person, and is technically mortal, though he’s lived for a very long time, that would make a man chaotic.
On that topic- Phil is technically mortal in the sense that he can die, but he ages much much slower than the average person. He has only ever had 1 canon life, after each life he reunites with mumza until he is reborn to another place.
In one of his last lives he was killed by a baby zombie.
Techno / Death’s Blade / Blood God
While Phil is Death’s Angel, Death’s Mercy - Techno is Death’s Blade, her wrath. Unlike Phil he is not reborn - he has lived one (very long) life (hence technoblade never dies). However unlike Phil he doesn’t age, which is why he calls Phil old.
After SMP Earth, he had retired to far off floating islands, where he settled down and set up a farm, until mumza called on him again.
Unlike Phil, Techno has many canon kills. Tubbo, Schlatt, Quackity, Quackity again, and is a renowned warrior, unbested. Again works with the idea of being death’s blade, death’s warrior, death’s wrath.
He has 3 canon lives because he was a normal piglin brute (or just pig idk) before he was chosen, which stopped his aging and gave him abilities (made him a player) and because he isn’t reborn, he only has one life, so him having 1 life and being in the heat of battle all the time doesn’t make sense.
Basically Phil and techno know each other because they work together and under death’s command. They are Yin and Yang of mercy and wrath.
I love this theory and I will not be taking criticism thank you very much. (I actually will if you have any questions or want to nitpick specifics I will very gladly elaborate I love getting into those specific questions about headcannons)
(Also if anyone has ideas for what ranboo, niki, Wilbur, or another member might be feel free to add on) (I just feel like ranboo niki and Wilbur would be the most likely)

thinking of how good c!tntduo would be for double life soulmates, like they would definitely be the kind that just wishes they were paired with someone else but there's more to it
like for starters, the first thing you hear about quackity from wilbur is that apparently he stood him up (the thing he stood him up for, minecraft mondays, is not specified until a good ten minutes later) and then proceeds a little bit later to beat the absolute shit out of him
meaning that this would be the way they would realise they were soulmates and were going to be stuck with each other, which is just absolutely perfect for comedic purpose - but also as a metaphor
// tw mentions of physical abuse, self harm and drug usage (for only these three paragraphs)
secondly, during the manburg/pogtopia, both wilbur and quackity's health show a lot about themselves. wilbur, with his self-destructive tendencies, who never wore armour and was mostly on low health. i literally once saw this man just casually jump down a cliff with a few hearts, he does not care.
then you have quackity with schlatt, who schlatt literally hits him when he doesn't comply to his will. and meaning his health is connected to wilbur's, they would be one shot from death for most of the time. then one of them (probably quackity) would also probably ask the other at one point 'why the fuck are we always so close to dying?" and if it's wilbur responding he would spout some metaphorical bullshit.
also, with the deaths, i'm thinking the other person does die, but does not actually lose a canon life, meaning quackity would still be on three lives the time he got to new l'manburg (just so then the plot doesn't change too heavily)
another thing you could do, is wilbur still feeling quackity's first death (technoblade's execution) even though he's in the afterlife. techno also said that he saw the afterlife for a split second (with the help of the totem of undying) and wilbur could probably piece together what it was that happened to his soulmate
Tumblr media Tumblr media
thirdly, hitting on sixteen. like, they still beat each other because of that obsessive need for the other to lose, yet it still hurts them. they're both overrun with this want for winning and proving themselves but end up hurting the people around them, and especially each other. every punch, every kick and every bite is shared between them, the obvious fact that they're connected and inseparable making itself shown (yin and yang?)
anyways, i think they're cool ^-^

we don't talk enough how after c!tommy, the next person to talk down c!wilbur from the button plan was c!quackity. like, that's a little strange, isn't it?
is it because c!quackity's one of the only people ever to properly stand up to c!wilbur and not back down? to stick it to the man?
and what does it mean when c!wilbur sometimes listens to him? because whenever someone else does it, he normally dismisses it and just believes that they don't realise what he's doing. like??? genuinely what???
does it tie in with that idea of yin and yang? to balance each other? to be equals on an even playing field?
because why does a man with no sanity, listen to the same man he ridiculed as if he were a voice of reason?
examples under cut:
on oct 17th stream, it takes both him and ctommy to pull cwilbur away from the button (even though on the oct 16th stream, both c!clingyduo couldn't convince him together)
on nov 2nd, he has to pull him away (solo this time) while cwilbur is also apparently intoxicated
on nov 6th, c!wilbur states how this was a day later then what c!quackity originally agreed to on nov 2nd, but lets it slide bc it's clear he cares about and "he was nice to him on LOH"

c!tntduo have definitely one of the most interesting relationships on the dream smp, if not the most interesting - so here's me ranting for 1.7k words on these dumbass little bitches (on basically ever arc)
firstly, you start with wilbur, who used to believe in the power of words and has just gone through war, loss and betrayal, coming to face an almost mirror image of himself in quackity, who's ambitious, light-hearted and most of all, doesn't know about the consequences of flying too close to the sun
wilbur sees him at first and only lets him run against him for the integrity of his campaign. then, when schlatt comes into play, you see wilbur turn to him and say that quackity cares about l'manburg and wants to do good for it, even if those plans interfere with wilbur's ideals.
then in the manburg/pogtopia arc, whenever you see them interact before quackity joins pogtopia, they're pretty casual and friendly with each other. you have quackity planning on going behind schlatt's back, and right after the elections have been won, you can hear him say that he plans on meeting with crimeboys and even thought that exile was too harsh.
once the white house is destroyed, quackity joins pogtopia and is pretty quickly welcomed in. with wilbur's paranoia and distrust, you constantly hear him speak of how everyone's just following the person with the biggest power (who he believes at this time to be schlatt), but the difference is with quackity is literally the first thing he told wilbur (the person who was in charge when this happened) no, because quackity isn't one to easily wilt to other people's orders.
quackity then goes on in the pogtopia arc to be the deciding factor on whether wilbur presses the bomb or not, for a good 20 days (for a comparison, pogtopia lasted for a little less than two months). whenever someone like tommy or tubbo told wilbur not to press the button and that they can do something else, he would always brush it off and call them childish, because in positions of actual knowledge on the world, wilbur thinks that they don't understand why he's doing this. but when quackity tells him no and then gives him a counter plan, he delays plan B (the bomb) and allows quackity and tommy attempt their plan. (<- this ties in with that idea of equals - like yin and yang - but i'll get into that later)
even after quackity's plan fails, he still tries to prevent the inevitable doom of wilbur blowing up l'manburg. every time he brings it up, he tries to dissuade him, like he has hope for wilbur - which a lot of people do at this point. people like tommy, tubbo and niki believe wilbur's still good, even though he sees himself as the villain.
but from quackity's perspective, he's always seen wilbur as someone who definitely isn't good per se, but probably not to the length of a villain. yet, he has this hope that this plan can be stopped even though he doesn't see wilbur through the rose-colored lenses the original people of l'manburg see him in.
on november 16th, you see dream say to tommy that wilbur was the traitor all along, but it's actually quackity who first points out wilbur's missing from the scene. then, a couple of seconds before the buttons pushed, you see quackity realise exactly where he is - by him calling out to tommy, since he also knows where the button room is.
by this point in the timeline, quackity and wilbur are pretty close around each other and it even seems like quackity has a bit of trust in wilbur. you seem him act less like the comedic relief he does around people like schlatt, but more of his more serious and genuine side, which is normally saved for him talking to chat and interactions with tubbo.
then, this trust is broken once wilbur presses the button, since quackity tried so hard to pull him away from it, constantly telling him there were other ways, one of those ways that had literally just been achieved.
still, even though quackity now has a resentment towards wilbur, he helps rebuild new l'manburg. he's passionate for the country, and this passion then also translates for the people who destroyed l'manburg, that namely being wilbur and techno.
when he says he's getting revenge on techno for the destruction, he also states that wilbur's dead and they can't really get any retribution from him - implying that if he were alive, quackity probably would have done something to change that.
quackity has a deep love for this country, even after originally being turned away from it. even though he truly got to know it after it's original time, he still had that same original dream that all of the l'manburgians had.
he ends up staying right to the end, fighting right up until it's just him, tubbo, tommy and ghostbur left - which brings me to his relationship with ghostbur.
originally, it was clear he had a resentment to him. he would be really humorous and not willing to be genuine around him, and the only time you see that early on in their relationship is when quackity yells at him for not remembering blowing up l'manburg.
but bit after bit, you see ghostbur do things like ask quackity to sing the national anthem and them genuinely enjoying time together. you see little details like quackity thanking ghostbur for blue quietly in the butcher army stream, and then their interaction on doomsday.
you see them talk nicely and interacting nicely together, quackity even comes to say he was sad when wilbur died. this is probably because of ghostbur, since he learned how to remember what wilbur was like before he became obsessed with the destruction of l'manburg. he found this respect for him, and then when he thought that wilbur was right with saying that you need violence to produce power, lead to him to write the PROJECT NEVADAS book. in that, he even went to say that wilbur was his dearest friend.
after spending a lovely 13 year vacation in literal hell, wilbur's back and looking for a purpose. of course, he immediately latches onto the book quackity has left for him. it's a sign of hope that someone hasn't forgotten him and that his memory, other than that of his destruction of his country, still exists in people.
he rushes over to las nevadas, to find quackity who is originally exicted to see him (remembered that gained respect from his death? that's it). but then he sees wilbur beg to join las nevadas, and realises that he hasn't changed and is still man from pogtopia.
the reason wilbur begs like this is because he's been so purposeless for so long and this is the only glimmer of hope he has left, and here is quackity telling him no. which makes him think for a moment, and that that is his new purpose to become.
nobody tells wilbur no, and it's new and exciting - and quackity's probably the only one to do it ever. with the exceptions of dream and schlatt with lmanburg, but those were impersonal, yet this denial is very personal and directly aimed at him.
once wilbur sees this hope for something after going so long without anything, he's determined to make something of it. and seeing quackity get so riled up at his taunting, gives him something to do that isn't just the passive doting he sees everyone else doing.
he knows why everyone's accepting his apologies, because they're scared and afraid of what he'll do. and quackity isn't, but that isn't the thing. the thing is wilbur's afraid of what he'll do, and it's so much easier to do his dance with quackity and believe that he won't implode on himself again.
that's why quackity is his yang to him, he brings this balance to his own destructive behavior with his built up walls. wilbur can try all he wants to break them down, but they won't break. and finally, he's found something he can hold in his hands that won't just snap on impact - unless, he thinks he has.
this intense dynamic between the two not only can have an impact on the both of them, but the people around them as well. you see beeduo get dragged into this conflict of the two of them proving themselves (since they are so used to being told they aren't what they want to be, strong - i mean in the emotional sense).
beeduo didn't expect such a whirlwind of emotions, and tntduo didn't really prepare it for them either. they were so obsessed with the idea of beating the other, they didn't expect there would be such dire consequences.
then, along comes hitting on 16, and tntduo start off with the emotional equivalent of trying to spray pepper sauce in the other's eyes. wilbur gets blinded with the spray and goes onto steal his horse, because he knows just how sentimental the horse was to him.
because wilbur's the same in that regard, in the way he can try not to attach himself to the people and things around him, yet fail so horribly. which is perfectly portrayed in when ranboo pays the price of the mess wilbur and quackity have started.
then wilbur goes onto to trying to make himself a better person, and holds this deep grudge for quackity after ho16. sound familiar? a little like quackity after wilbur's death?
but still, he has to hold some sort of sentiment for the man, since he carries around the las nevadas journal in his own inventory all the way up until eret's apology stream, where it is then relocated next to niki's diamonds in his ender chest (another really important thing to him)
and here you have proof of the other side of the rivalry. you have the two of them say things like wilbur saying that him and quackity could be friends (albeit, after he beats his ass in their homoerotic rivalry) to ranboo when he recruits him - in a tone that sounds genuine and his muttered to himself, like a guilty confession.
you then have quackity saying to slime (in the stream where he dies) that all friends and enemies leave you after a while, which is a weird detail to add. because the only enemy that's possible for quackity to be sentimental towards, is wilbur.
they both seem to have this resentment for each other, in a need to prove themselves to the world, the other and themselves. yet, they still can be sentimental around the other, even if they want to deny it.
