Sudden Collapse *Team Leader Edition*
Come on, pull yourself together.
Leader leaned his hands on the table, squinting at the map sprawled across it and blinked a few times as it blurred in and out of focus.
"Leader? You were saying..?" Teammate Two prompted.
"Right," he started again, ignoring how the room span as he lifted his hands from the table. "So if we plant charges on...on the..." his voice trailed off, his thoughts slipping through his mind like sand. He dug his nails into his palms, willing himself to concentrate.
"You alright, boss?" Teammate One asked, their brow creased as they stepped closer.
"Fine," he dismissed as the team exchanged confused and concerned glances.
Just wanting to get through the briefing, Leader took a slow, deliberate breath before continuing. "If we plant charges on the w...west generator, that should... should buy us- enough t-time to... to..." Leader stumbled through his words, his sluggish mind unable to navigate the fragmented thoughts as another wave of nausea rolled over him.
He vaguely registered a muffled shout from Medic.
"'m fine," he slurred, reaching out for something to stabilize himself as his body swayed dangerously. He hadn't even realized he was falling until his head slammed against the floor.
"-oss? Boss!"

Good Omens fic recs
Hello all! Wanted to share a few of my longtime faves. These are all pre-s2, might do another with my post-s2 recs? Narrowed it down to 10, since that's the max links tumbl lets you have in a post.
Any Way You Want It
Author: Justkeeptrekkin Words: 27,500 Chapters: 5/5 Rating: Mature Mood: Vacation, soft but introspective After finally getting heaven and hell off their backs (at a cost) Crowley and Aziraphale go on holiday to a cottage in Scotland. Fluffy with fun snappy dialogue, the two really feel like best friends here! Aziraphale struggles with his tendency to go slower than even he wants.
Instructions Not Included
Author: Atalan Words: 68,000 Chapters: 13/13 Rating: Teen Mood: Detective / Gen (There are feelings but it earns that slowburn tag) My "if season 2 isn't good, this is my season 2" fic. Now, I liked season 2, but this is still SO good. After the notpocalypse, Aziraphale and Crowley start a detective agency investigating supernatural happenings together. New characters include Raphael (who totally missed the apocalypse haha whoops), and a big spooky dog (whomst I adore). Note that while this fic stands just fine on its own, there is an unfinished sequel that imo doesn't leave off anywhere stressful.
When in Rome
Author: Kedreeva Words: 4,000 Rating: General Mood: The liminal space of nighttime conversations What happens after Aziraphale invites Crowley to oysters: Wings and reading. Tentative and innocent in those early days.
the deft, sweet gesture of your hand
Author: deadgreeks Words: 12,000 Rating: Explicit Mood: Hurt/Comfort, introspection A few years after the failed apocalypse Crowley shows up badly injured at the bookshop. Aziraphale has to help heal Crowley and save them both, and still finds the time to knit his feelings.
Chemistry
Author: Twilightcitysky Words: 122,000 Chapters: 19/19 Rating: Explicit Mood: Y'ever want a side of learning something with your romcom? After realizing they might need their own corporations to heal themselves now that they're not working for heaven and hell, Aziraphale and Crowley turn on all their bodily functions. All of them. What could be a silly premise is played out very satisfyingly, the actual biology of hormones at play here is fascinating. (this is not really at all related but: has anyone else read Peeps by Scott Westerfeld? Because the format reminded me of this in that it did a similar thing of playing straight the concept of "what could cause vampires to be real" that drew on inspiration from real life parasites interspersed between the chapters. I dig it. Anyway!)
Reservations
Author: AnnetheCatDetective Words: 10,000 Chapters: 3/? (Technically unfinished, but leaves off in a satisfying spot) Rating: Not Rated Mood: Meta (Character study as story) “There's some competition for Aziraphale and Crowley's usual table at the Ritz…” A couple of miracles bend reality and, well… you ever been like, “The boys need therapy, but who could possibly give it to them?” I love crossovers where the TV boys meet other versions of themselves, this one is my favorite.
i can't say the words, so i wrote you into my verse
Author: mygalfriday (BrinneyFriday) Words: 5,000 Rating: Teen Mood: Snapshots through history "Crowley has tattoos and every few centuries, Aziraphale discovers a new one." Simple and paints a lovely picture.
By Definition
Author: idiopathicsmile Words: 3,000 Rating: Explicit Mood: Smutty but fond A night together after the Ritz fic where Aziraphale is asexual and Crowley isn’t and how that works for them. The dialogue here is positively delightful.
Bark Dust
Author: rfsmiley Words: 8,000 Rating: Mature (mostly for injuries) Mood: Whump, Hurt/Comfort, Historical Crowley is very badly injured in a battle, and Aziraphale has to figure out how to save his life.
Tell Me A Story
Author: brilliant_or_insane Words: 5,000 Rating: Teen Mood: Soft and warm Aziraphale likes telling stories and Crowley likes to listen. But when the demon is dissatisfied by sad endings and can't relate to the happy ones, Aziraphale decides to move them forward by telling a new story. (Of course, Crowley isn't entirely satisfied with the angel's perspective on that one either.)

javier peña x f!reader (narcos)
arepas walked, so LNT could RUN. gosh. this fic. the last couple of days it has so much love too, and i’m so overwhelmed, and happy. but my fave thing about this, it all stemmed from a scene in my head of him picking her up from the airport, combined with the fact i was alone for a week, and here we are. one of my fave things i’ve ever written.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?
44 😲 in my main AO3 account. 2 others in my older account = 46!
I didn't realize I had that many things!
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
270,883
3. What fandoms do you write for?
All 44 of those works in my main AO3 are MacGyver 2016. One is a crossover with The Rookie. The other two at Star Trek TOS and Star Wars fics.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Table + Flashlight + IEDs
Mac + (Wilderness + Training + Survival) + Jack
Lost Causes
Lake + Stick + Fever
4 Times the LAPD Didn’t Pull Jack Over + 1 Time They Did
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to! I often respond to a chapter's comments when I post the next chapter of a longfic. And sometimes I just space on it and respond a year later when I notice I failed to respond.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Oh definitely my X-ray + Penny flashfic, Bad Penny. Most of the comments are variations on HOW DARE YOU!!!
There are a couple other flashfics with pretty ambiguous endings, too.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
That's a hard one. Most of my fics have a happy or at least comforty ending. Maybe... uhh.... Electricity + Combustion ? which I literally labeled "whump with a fluffy ending". I also have two Jack Lives fics so that's always a happy situation at the end...
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I haven't. A few weird comments but I mostly scratch my head and ignore them. Anybody who hates on my fics will be getting a very long and nasty reply, followed by their comment being deleted.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Nope, no smutty fanfics here. I did have a romance I posted for another fandom awhile back (and never finished), and I've written fade-to-black stuff in my orig fic novels.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Just one! My Macgyver 2016+The Rookie cops-vs-spies crossover, in which some LAPD officers keep coming across a black GTO involved in shenangains around LA: 4 Times the LAPD Didn’t Pull Jack Over + 1 Time They Did
It's probably the funniest thing I've ever written, and the ending is one of my very favorites. Also possibly the only gen fic ever posted in The Rookie fandom, although I don't look over there much.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes. Somebody stole all my completed fics from FF.net last year. There was a big Tumblr post about some site full of stolen fics, and sure enough, there mine were. I asked to have them remove, got not reply. I haven't posted anything to FF.net since then.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I'm aware of.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes, but not for a long time. I used to frequently co-write fics in my first fandom.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
I'm going to go with Washington State Ferry M/V Wenatchee. Who doesn't love a good ferry boat? It's an irconic style, fun if you're walking on, handy if you need to drive on, saves you hours of driving around Puget Sound by land. Also just a very nice-looking ship.
Tumblr media
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Ugh, wow. I have a couple dozen things I kinda like but might never finish. My favorite, and least likely because I've made the least progress on it, is a MacGyver fic about Patti having plotted out her revenge better, and tring to fuck over the team by having listed Jack as her replacement... which of course gives him access to high-level secrets like Oversight's identity. Much drama ensues.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Ramping a story up. Characters. Make a story fully story-shaped.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Endings. 😫
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Hmmm I don't think I've ever needed to. Like most things in writing, I'm not against it in theory, but it can be done well or badly.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Anne McCaffrey's Pern, back in the paper fanzine days. Prior to joining AO3 in like 2019, I had 0 fanfics posted on the internet but a few in zines listed on Ebay. 😂
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
This is IMPOSSIBLE to answer. I could answer it differently every day for the next couple weeks. Anything I already mentions plus a couple more!

Event Update::Captain Swan Co-Storytellers Collaboration
Hello, everyone! I'm very excited to announce that although it will be a week event it is still producing fics and a lovely collaboration. We have 5 groups.
I'm going to share a sneak peek into what to expect when we post around Thanksgiving.
Below the cut:
Story 1:
Tumblr media
Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm had been the authors of many tales. Jacob wrote the framework and Wilhelm edited the stories making them better. The main goal was to give hope to the human race. As time passed on; the stories became darker and grim which earned them exile to the land of untold stories where they could hurt no one ever more. Time had finally liberated them from their prison and now their arrival to Storybrooke will allow them to fix the Author's lazy writing.
Story 2:
A Study in Scones
Summary: When pastries go missing from Storybrooke’s bakery, Killian and Emma enlist Henry’s help with Operation: Gingerbread. (A Captain Cobra Swan Mystery Fic) Rating: T
Story 3:
Try Something New
Blurb: Before they were True Love, they had to do one thing: learn to trust each other. Follow Emma Swan and Killian Jones across three alternate universes where one small decision would change the course of their lives.
Story 4:
Tumblr media
The slam of the Bug’s old rusty door justled Neal awake, he’d just spoken with Emma, giving her the warning he needed. Now all he could hope was that his words had been enough to change her mind. His own words echoed inside his head as he took in the place he woke up in, dark walls, barely illuminated by a reddish light. “Where the hell am I?” Neal mumbled and tore off his beanie, swirling around himself. “Where’s the exit?” A wall flickered in a bright light and images of Emma climbing a beanstalk with the fucking pirate flittered before him, “Why am I seeing this, I know this story.”
Story 5:
A Historical AU, set in Revolutionary War times. Killian and Emma are both working as spies (against the British) and there is going to be intrigue, angst, whump, and hurt/comfort.
Who else is excited?

For the question thing - tails and all of them!(or the ones you like)💛
Ooh, that's a long one. Okay! Let's see
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. I love him.
2. His unwavering determination and loyalty and trust in his big brother
3. Whatever the fuck was happening in Forces
4. Same as I answered for Sonic
Edit: I wrote responses to all the rest of the questions (detailed for a few questions too) but they got deleted so I'll shorten them.
5. Blood Bonds by Nathan Wagner, Believe in Myself, Gold by Owl City, Fly With Me from Sonic and Tails R.
6. My tendency to make things for my friends as gifts instead of just buying a gift
7. When fandom makes him everyone's little brother. Everybody adores Tails.
8. Shipping. With anyone. That is a child! He's 8!
9. Both yes and no. I adore him but kid would activate my maternal instincts and get lectured for soooo many things
10. Who could not be best friends with Tails?
11, 15, 16, 17. Please no! That is a CHILD! JUST NO.
12. When he's too tired and eepy to be coherent, he stumbles to wherever his brother is sitting or sleeping and burrows in next to Sonic without even realizing it.
13. 🥺🍪🚀🪛🔧🍬🛩️🛩️🦊🌌☺️😕 (Thank goodness for recent emojis)
14. Form fitting full sleeved jacket or hoodie with texted t-shirt, a satchel that has a lot of enamel pins and shoes with laces that match the jacket. Or just pilot jacket and goggles.
18. Mom, Dad and Picket Fence my beloved, you know the one.
19. His relationship with Shadow. I hate how it's often portrayed in canon. They have so much in common, let them be friends!
20. I believe we already know the answer to that question
Tumblr media
21. I love writing him as both sassy and babey, giving him the little brother vibes. And also using his body language and movements of his ears and tails to be expressive of his thoughts and emotions and reactions. What I don't like is torturing him. Like, it's cool when it's mild whump followed by comfort but I draw a line at torturing him, that's a plain big No for me, my inner Sonic gets very angry and upset when Tails is continuously physically and mentally tortured.
22. When he's allowed to act his age! I love it. I also love it when he's written to show fox traits and when it's clear who raised him, Tails getting reckless and impatient and quipping at his enemies etc.. And I don't like when he tortured too much, like I said, it doesn't sit right with me. And also when he is written as too mature, not letting him banter or be reckless and excited about little things. (Basically in combination of both these questions, Tails for me is not the torture-him-blorbo, he's the so-precious-protect-him-at-all-costs blorbo)
23. Pick one
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
24. TMNT '12 Donnie. And Hiccup.
25. Then: Adorable fluffy genius child!
Now: Adorable fluffy sassy genius child
....
This marks all the questions about Tails. I won't answer any more character asks about him except the last one which is "Freebie question"

FAQ:
Are “T”, “D”, and “Their Captor” really these character’s names? For now, yes, but probably not forever! They are stand-in placeholder names until I can think of proper names for these guys. I wanted to get the entries that I wrote for WoW's Birthday Whump Event! posted in time, so they don’t have names yet. Can’t rush those things, yanno? Hopefully when I’m ready to post the actual canon story they’ll all have real names!
How old are the characters in your main story? D and T are college age, though Iʻm not sure what specific ages yet. Theyʻre both beyond legal drinking age, and D is slightly older than T. Thatʻs all I know for now, as Iʻm still writing the main canon story.  They might be older or younger in side fics/AUs. If so, Iʻll state it in the post of the story entry itself.
Why is the “D” capitalized in “We Are TroubleD”? Because right now the characters stand-in names are “T” and “D”, so “T”rouble"D”! “We” are T and D, and they are in trouble because they are whump characters.
How often will you update the canon story? Hopefully frequently once I get it off the ground, but you can never really predict that. Iʻm going to try to have as much as I can done of the whole story before I start posting in earnest, so hopefully once it starts going you wonʻt have to wait long!
Can I draw/write about your characters? Sure! Though it might be a bit challenging without references or profiles for them yet. Fingers crossed Iʻll have those made for the future! The one thing I ask is that if you create anything with my characters, please link back to me and donʻt claim them as your own. Thanks!

Survey results
First of all, I'd like to thank all 37 people who took this survey for trusting me with such sensitive information, I take this trust very seriously and my lips remain sealed.
To clarify things, I'd like to explain why I use the word interest in survey questions. Some people would call it their kink, some their fetish, and some neither (but still think it's of a kink- or fetish-aligned nature), and just defaulting to calling it an interest just made sentences flow more smoothly than just going "kink/fetish/whatever you'd call it" ad nauseam.
In the questions with freeform answers, my commentary will be in red to distinguish from quoted survey answers
Q1: What is your gender identity?
I expected this, as well as the two following questions, to mostly line up with general tumblr demographics, which they for the most part did, but with some exceptions. The largest demographic here was cis women (41%), followed by unaligned non-binary (24%), cis men (16%) trans men or transmasculines (14%) and others (6%). I was expecting slightly more trans men & mascs and I certainly expected a handful of trans women & fems but other than that this checks out. Additionally, the cis to non-cis ratio is 57% cis and 43% non-cis.
Q2: What is your sexuality?
The largest demographic here was bisexuals (30%), followed by straights (22%), asexuals (19%), pansexuals (16%), tie between gay and lesbian (5% each) and others (3%). Surprised with the number of straights, especially since all straight respondents were also cis - certainly more cishets than I would expect. This isn't a bad thing of course.
Q3: Where do you live?
78% of respondents were from North America, 14% from Europe, 5% from South America and 3% from Oceania. No respondents from Africa or Asia. This lines up with what I expected, except that I did expect more from Oceania.
Q4: At which age did you discover or realize your interest?
This was a very even distribution trending toward younger ages. 35% responded tweenhood (8-12), 27% early childhood (7 or under) and 24% it's been with me for as long as I can remember. 8% responded adolescence (13-17) and 5% adulthood (18 and over).
Q5: Which of the following options would you say factor into your interest?
The four options I had here are things I personally default to when an outsider asks me why I'm into this. 36% responded vulnerability, 33% intimacy, 14% shame and 13% taboo. The respondents who chose other responded embarassment, control/dominance and the noise itself.
Q6: If you'd like, elaborate on the appeal you personally see with your interest
"I don’t consciously see an appeal, other than it’s cute sometimes? I do have a thing for vulnerability to be fair so that’s probably the main factor."
"The vulnerability of knowing that you're hungry bc your belly is rumbling. Also just love to lift up my top and let my tummy growl whilst I'm alone and in bed lol"
"desperation. an aftercare aspect is also important"
"Just the concept of your body having its own alert system telling you when something is or isn’t inside it is really cute to me, plus I’m a sucker for ‘unusual’ things causing people physical arousal, and the idea of a belly rumbling giving someone that feeling is very nice"
"Always thought bellies were cute, liked to role-playing stomach issues as a kid and wrote sic fics as a preteen. Still into that stuff - primarily as hurt/comfort- but also became about it sexually. Stomach noises aren't my main but I like them as an indicator of discomfort."
"The sound, especially when it's persistent and loud (which is why hunger works so well). The feel of it growling against my or someone else's hand or body. The empty feeling right before it growls"
"90% of the time for me, I only enjoy this kink in more soft and fluffy scenarios. Torture and stuff like that is too intense for me personally, but I will occaaaasionally dabble in whump. Hurt/comfort with hunger is my favorite thing ever. Teasing and embarrassment are a big part of it for me, not sure why. Personal fave scenario is when it involves typically stoic and/or prideful characters. Takes 'em down a peg to have such a basic human need to embarrass them."
"The last one said vulnerability and I very much agree with that. But it's hunger it's soooo hunger"
"Noises and various round/roundish stomach shapes. Calming to hear"
"I just really like the noises, and how unique they all are :)"
"I enjoy the variety of sounds a stomach can make, though my main interest lies in hunger sounds. I love the different reactions stomach growls can get out of the people who hear/experience them, from embarrassment, shame, arousal, and even disgust (in the case of someone being degraded for the sounds their stomach makes). A major appeal for me is that it’s something the body does on its own, completely outside of your control. You may be the most composed businessperson but you’re never safe from the embarrassment of a growling stomach in the middle of a conference. I enjoy how stomach sounds can sound hollow and sad, or loud, or borderline cartoony. Personifying the stomach by describing its sounds as representing emotions is also enjoyable to me."
"It's honestly very hard to explain. I just like it a lot and I'm not too sure why. I definitely like the fact that people will feel embarrassed and try to hide it. I also like when people act stoic and try to pretend that nothing is happening x3"
"Just feeling the rumbles themselves always feels so exhilarating and sensual. I want to share that kind of fun and intimacy with someone with the same kink or someone who would be willing to indulge irl someday."
Q7: If you can clearly pinpoint a single moment that awakened your interest, which of the following best describes it?
72% responded media exposure, and 8% each on trauma and non-traumatic real life experience. The respondents in the other category were primarily concerning having no clear memory.
Q8: If you'd like, elaborate on this awakening moment
"It was always cartoon characters stomach growling when I first discovered this kink"
"I found a post on IsItNormal asking about the interest, which is what made me realize that it was something I was into."
"Courage the cowardly dog, flan episode"
"The interest had already been culminating ever since I was young through stomach growling scenes from various shows but one of the ones that really sealed it for me was an episode from Hannah Montana where Miley sneaks out and her friends Lily and Oliver pretend to be her through the door when the dad asks what’s up. All of a sudden a super loud growl emitted from Oliver’s tummy and he whispered in a panic to Lily that he hadn’t eaten all day. I definitely remember feeling quite hot and flustered during the whole thing."
"I liked the idea of stomachaches even younger but around 10-11 I read a lot of young adult novels centered around illness ? So not an awakening bc I already knew to choose those books. I also read the part of Stephen King's It where Ritchie pukes until the page fell out."
"Thinking it was "weird" and being in denial most of my life, then embracing it"
"I was watching cartoons with a family member. A character’s stomach growled onscreen, and I immediately felt embarrassed and hot in the face, almost uncomfortable. I got squirmy and felt the need to leave the room."
"It had to be when I was 3-5? Because I was watching Wonder Pets. There was an episode where they were by a geyser and it was about to go off and Tuck the Turtle said something about thinking it was his stomach growling. Or maybe the other guys said "hey was that you" I don't know. But I thought about that so much afterwards and then it bled into every child interest I had. I was embarrassed by it even though I didn't see it as taboo, it just felt really personal to me"
"I don't think I had a particular awakening moment, but I do remember several times when watching TV with my family, how I'd get really embarrassed whenever a character's stomach growled. I remember one specific time where I saw the title screen for an episode quite literally about stomach growling, which I had already seen, and I had to physically leave the room bc I knew I could not handle it lmao (side note the episode in question was like. good god man. tbh I refuse to believe that not a single writer for that episode didn't also have this fetish bc it was so over the top and in your face. [If anyone's curious the episode is Rabbid Tummy Rumble from Rabbids Invasion. Shit was wild.])"
"I think it was when I joined the internet and I saw other people engaging in similar topics to what I was interested in, and when I found out they were doing it because of a ‘fetish’, I was like “Whoaaa I didn’t know I had that.”"
"I don't remember the exact moment, but I remember watching a cartoon where a character's stomach growled multiple times in a scene, and I was ENAMORED. I kept rewinding the scene back and back to listen to the character's stomach :)"
"I was in 2nd grade when I first became exposed to vore content through Youtube. Even at the time, I knew there was something about it that appealed to me, but I didn't know what exactly it was until I was older. I realized that me discovering those videos ended up leading me down a rabbit hole where I also discovered that it wasn't just vore I was into, but rather bellies in general. I still feel shameful about it since I doubt I'd be into this kind of stuff had I not come across those videos, but I also feel that I've become more accepting of myself over this now that I am an adult. Looking back on it, I am also a little bit disappointed that it was Kphoria videos of all things that exposed me to this kind of stuff instead of something of better quality. I am also a bit mortified of the fact that my dad has caught my 2nd grade self watching those videos not long after I've discovered them. I just hope he doesn't remember that moment."
I'd say there's no right or wrong way to develop a kink or fetish, it's not like you can help it, so no need to beat yourself up about it.
"i wouldn't necessarily say it's a single moment so much as i experienced neglect growing up and the brain does strange things"
"Caught my siblings watching something they shouldnt have and got stuck watching it before I remember that it wasn’t appropriate for them. It was an animated vore video on YouTube."
"I think i can recall in very early childhood having a lot of weird feelings around this interest. Being very young and feeling like ‘hungry’ was a dirty word to say and things like that. Feeling kind of scandalized when something involving it would happen, the way I now feel as an adult if someone were to speak about sex way too casually. It was around when I was 12 that I saw a compilation on youtube of anime characters stomachs growling and that was when I realized my confusion around the subject was sexual in nature."
I can definitely relate to feeling weird and scandalized as a kid! I hear a lot of people say they as kids would always rewind kink-suggestive scenes to watch over and over but as for me, I wanted nothing to do with rumbling bellies, because they just made me feel a very strong emotion I could not understand (arousal) and being confused like that just made me angry.
Q9: Do you have any related interests?
41% of responses included hunger, 25% stuffing/feedism, 14% vore, 6% eructophilia, 5% eproctophilia and 10% others, including (most to least picked) emetophilia, cardiophilia and scat. Overall, 95% of respondents had at least one related interest.
Q10: If you have related interest(s), would you consider it a chicken-or-the-egg situation?
83% of respondents answered yes, with 50% saying their interest in stomach noises inspired them to develop their related interest(s) and 33% vice versa. 17% responded no, that they arose independently of one another.
Q11: Which cause(s) of stomach noises interest(s) you the most?
56% of responses included hunger, 27% digestion, 12% indigestion, 3% nausea and 1% no preference. I was surprised to see hunger be more popular than digestion, I was under the impression that it was the other way around given that a lot of YouTube content leans more digestion than hunger. Then again, this may be sampling bias at play since I did post the survey in the hunger kink tag.
Q12: How noisy is your own stomach?
49% of respondents answered only in certain circumstances (example: only if I'm hungry), 27% somewhat, 14% not at all :( and 11% very.
Q13: Do you have any bowel issues or food intolerances that manifest with a noisy belly?
This is a question I was particularily curious about because on the rare occasions I've seen kink negative people try to justify hating this interest in a way that makes them seem righteous about it, they'll often go for the angle of "fetishizing chronic illness". As a certified lead belly this has embedded some insecurities in me, namely that I'll meet a potential partner who happens to have a bowel issue and would feel fetishized should I divulge this part of myself, and if I fumble particularily badly that my ass will be spread wide open on r/relationships or r/AITA. I'm sorry if I just gave y'all a brand new fear. But I digress, I was curious if there were people in the community with pathologically noisy bellies who may or may not have this interest in part to cope.
62% of responses included no, 23% yes, bowel issue(s) and 15% yes, food intolerance(s).
Q14: If you have partner(s), do they know?
72% of respondents answered no, with the remainder tied between yes, they share my interest and yes, but they don't share my interest, at 14% each.
Q15: If your partner(s) know(s) but don't share your interest, how do they feel about it?
"he likes teasing me about it in a good-natured way. i am still processing too much shame to bring it up or be particularly responsive much"
"They like that I'm into it so he'll purposely make his belly noisy typically with digestion but sometimes hunger"
"Currently broken up, but when we dated we were actually both into the same things, they leaned more into the feederism side of things while I did more so the hunger. But we both enjoyed both overall, so it played a huge role in our intimacy"
"I'm single now but ex didn't mind and was happy that it could turn me on"
"I don’t have a partner at the moment but I like to imagine if I did then they’d be perfectly fine with it, but I wouldn’t mind if they didn’t indulge. I wouldn’t want to make them if they weren’t into it"
"This is my first time sharing this stuff w a partner (We met on Tumblr!) and it's a fucking dream. I never explicitly told exes. Most recent ex actually discovered my tumblr and was loud about his disgust but who knows if he would have acted differently had we been together at that time. (That ex was v normie and told me he didn't understand how anyone could get sexual satisfaction from anything non-sexual. How boring)"
I think you could have a partner indulge even if they weren't personally into it, many are prepared to indulge in things they don't necessarily like because just knowing it gets their partner off is enough reward for them. YMMV though, and obviously consent still matters.
Q16: Do you prefer to listen to somebody else's stomach, or to have your own stomach making noises?
46% of respondents answered no preference, 43% prefer noises from somebody else's stomach and 11% prefer to have my own stomach make noises.
Q17: How do you explore and manifest your interest?
I totally forgor to add an option for listening to belly recordings other people have uploaded, when I totally should've. Shout out to the people who added this through the "Other" option. 19% responded consuming fiction, 16% consuming art, 15% consuming prompts, then a tie between creating fiction and fasting at 11% each, then 28% other entries which include (most to least picked) creating art, recording my stomach, creating prompts, listening to partner's stomach and eating things my stomach tends to digest loudly.
Q18: How do you tend to react if you hear a stomach growling in public, or if it's mentioned in public?
"I feel a little embarrassed. I don’t tend to enjoy fiending over people unless I know it’s consensual- or rather if its in a context where people are aware that theyre being viewed in a sexual way, if that makes sense- but that isn’t to say I dont sometimes take inspiration from real life scenarios if they interest me. Usually if my body has a physical reaction to hearing someones stomach growl i feel a little ashamed."
"Embarrassed"
"Well the rational part of me takes over thank god. I usually will just stay silent to not embarrass whoever it was, but if it's bad for them I might tease them but probably suggest they eat or offer anything if I had it. I Will Not Lie I do find these situations very attractive though. In the back of my head I am not normal at all. Like I'll start tapping my fingers or shift in my seat probably."
"I try not to react; I'll sit there still faced and if someone addresses it in front of me, I'll kinda nod and laugh to clear up the tension."
"i ignore it as much as possible"
"If it's regarding someone else I just try to act as normal as possible while keeping a straight face. If it's regarding me, I'd easily get embarrassed about it and quickly try to change the subject."
"I'm good at hiding my kink, so I'm able to just ignore it."
"My body reacts involuntarily, I’ll squirm a little and sometimes get aroused because of it. I also get embarrassed, though I put effort into not showing any visible reaction. If it’s mentioned, I secretly wish the conversation would stay on the topic of it, so I could listen in."
"Would act like it was no big deal but internally trying not to over enthuse about the moment."
"It actually makes me uncomfortable because my brain is hardwired into thinking it's sexual."
"Immediate embarrassment. The same way a normal person would react if someone started talking about something sexual next to you. Like I know that to them its just 'omg my stomach was growling so loud today I'm starving ahah.' but to me its like your describing your last hookup like dude are you not ashamed?? why're you saying this so casually-"
"I usually get very flustered."
"Don't really respond or acknowledge it, but internally it depends. Usually it makes me uncomfortable when ppl mention it, oddly enough."
"Try to ignore it and might feel awkward/embarrassed but turned on and flustered if it's someone I'm attracted to"
"Interested/attentive to the details"
"Depends on the person. If it’s someone I know personally, especially relatives, I get uncomfortable. If it’s a person I barely know, I feel a mix of excitement and embarrassment"
I can definitely relate to feeling uncomfortable when it's relatives!
"Growling isn't my main thing but visible/obvious bellies get me"
"I'd probably blush and try not to get aroused by it >w<"
"I’d normally feel awkward and try to ignore it but if someone I was attracted to had their stomach growling or mention being hungry or whatever I’d secretly be really turned on."
"Silent on the outside but intrigued on the inside"
"I don't react. Weirdly, it's only hot when it's my belly rumbling whilst I'm alone. I think it's bc I've seen too many creepy comments from cis men sexualising other people's growling bellies without their knowledge e.g. a man talking about a "young lady" with a hungry tummy in the library and how he found it hot, but the poor thing was probably just trying to study and could have been embarrassed."
This was the main outlier in this question. I definitely understand feeling creeped out by cis men - no offense to the cis men who responded to this survey, y'all seem to have good heads on your shoulders - but my two cents is that hiring a cop inside your head about it isn't very productive, it won't stop the actual creeps and you'll just feel guilty over thought crimes. Maybe I feel this way because I see more of people swinging in the opposite direction - thinking the best way to combat fetish mining is to assume every kinky person is out to assault you if you happen to do something that turns them on. As I've put it in a post on my personal blog, it's beginning to approach "I don't mind gay people as long as they don't hit on ME ;)" territory with a dash of white woman human trafficking posting. I can't dictate how you personally feel of course, but I think it's important to emphasize that merely the act of getting a boner over a stranger isn't a moral failing.
Q19: How do you think your interest is viewed by outsiders, generally speaking?
46% of respondents answered unsure, 32% there's significant stigma, 16% split down the middle and 5% most people would accept it.
Q20: If you've experienced stigma over your interest, feel free to elaborate on what was said and how it made you feel
Before getting into the answers, I'm gonna drop one comment in particular I've seen a couple of times, namely that there was a very infamous murderer who appeared to harbor borborygmophilic desires. Even putting aside the fact that we all should understand that guilt by association is a logical fallacy by like, age 11, I do find it curious that this exact same person also seemed to hold cardiophilic desires, yet that's never mentioned when the topic of cardiophilia is brought up. I'm not saying this to gatekeep cardiophiles or whatever, you're awesome and I'm sure you have to deal with shit too, but it's curious when outsiders have this cognitive dissonance, the layman just has an easier time understanding the appeal and intimacy of listening to heartbeats because we put a lot of emphasis on the heart in many cultures, while the digestive system is considered more "unclean". I consider it similar to how hand fetish is usually seen as more "inoffensive" than foot fetish by outsiders.
"i don't tell anyone but i've seen people's disgusted comments on content"
"I'm not really sure? My besties know but after I told them I try to keep it downplayed as much as possible, especially since my main focus is hunger and that is such a normal every day thing. So it's a little awkward basically alienating one of my main needs as a human being and delegating it to some Weird Methods just to avoid saying the words "I'm hungry" but you know how it is"
"I have not personally experienced stigma due to this fetish but I have seen comments about it in a derogatory way, which has lead me to feel insecure at times (I understand most of the negative reaction comes from the more pushy side of the community but it still reaches the calmer side which is how I managed to see it)"
"I constantly hear how the feederism community is promoting obesity and how the hunger fetish community is promoting anorexia. I do get it in all honesty, theres obviously the people that take it too far sometimes, and I'm not for that. I honestly still struggle to be attracted to these things if its outside of fiction because my rational brain kicks in and I worry about their safety. I honestly see it as every kink has its dark side, but you just gotta know when too much is too much and if this part should just stay fiction. Like BDSM is a much more popular and accepted kink, and you could also argue that its promoting dark subjects, but if done right with safety in mind, its fine and great for everyone."
Yeah, it really grinds my gears when people assume hunger kink by default means starvation and disordered eating. Like grow up most of us just like "whoops I forgor to eat and now my tummy's bothering me about it" type of scenarios followed by a well deserved meal, and those who like more intense scenarios than that either keep it in fiction or take long breaks between play sessions and make sure to do adequate aftercare. If you can understand that people who like say, impact play, don't want to literally beat the shit out of people, they just want to inflict mild and fleeting pain to a partner who derives pleasure that by far outweighs the pain, you should be able to understand this too
"I think some people who do not understand the nature of how fetishes work may be quick to label this one as gross or degenerate. I also fear the stigma coming from the eating disorder community, and being misunderstood as supporting that kind of behavior."
"I've seen people call it weird online, never personally but that alone makes me feel ashamed"
"Not quite stigma, but my friend (the only person who knows about me being into this thing) sometimes teases me about it, but only bc I'm okay with it and they've never mentioned it around anyone else."
Q21: Pick a favorite onomatopoeia
This was mostly just for fun, but I was also curious if there were preference patterns between say, people who prefer hunger and people who prefer digestion. 30% of respondents answered growl, 16% rumble, 14% gurgle, then a tie between grumble and groan at 11% each and 19% other entries, including (most to least picked) howl, roar, whine, moan, churn and borborygmus. Squelch was an option but was not picked by anybody.
The strongest preference patterns I saw was the correlation between growl and hunger, rumble and hunger, rumble and digestion and gurgle and digestion.
Q22: Do you consent to your freeform answers being quoted in a summary of the results of this survey?
Just so we're on the same page, by freeform answers I mean answers to questions 6, 8, 15, 18, 20 and 23. I don't think the results of this question are super relevant to my analysis though.
Q23: Any closing thoughts?
"i feel like it's telling how stigmatized and shamed having any kind of kink is that i can barely even discuss it with my own partner who has no problem with it in private because i've internalized so much shame just from seeing how other people are treated"
"Sorry if I'm not exactly your demographic but this was fun"
"Hehe tummy go grr"
Co signed!
"Not entirely relevant, but I think I might be one of the only people to have both borborygmophilia but also emetophobia. Haven't heard of anyone else in the same situation, so I thought I'd mention it."
"This quiz felt very thought through and welcoming, and it was very interesting exploring my fetish outside of the little scenarios I make up in my head haha. Thank you for creating this, it was fun to do <3"
"I used to think my interest was a fetish, and theres a potential that it still is. Because I used to only be able to experience arousal when listening to stomach noises or imagining them. However I’ve found that in doing trauma processing in therapy, I am now able to experience arousal from ‘normal things’, like porn or erotic fiction (even if its vanilla). The arousal is not as strong, consistent or frequent as the arousal I experience due to my stomach kink, but it is real all the same.
I think it may also be worth noting that I noticed growing up that a lot of people on tumblr with the same interests as me (who were also fem, female or woman adjacent in any way) were lesbian and/or ace, but had a preference for male stomach noises over female stomach noises, myself included."
I feel really reluctant to share this ‘kink’ with anyone in my life, even including my partner, because I feel a lot of shame and like I’m weird for having this interest. As a result, I typically only ever want to read about fictional scenarios and have little to no interest of incorporating real life instances of my kink into my love life. I’m only just now beginning to consider telling my partner about it.
I haven't noticed the pattern of lesbian/ace women and fems, but that's interesting! Maybe it's a matter of trying to avoid objectifying women, similar to how some male musicians get homoerotic on stage seemingly as an outlet to be horny without objectifying women. Idk, I'm just spitballing here.
"This was honestly a pretty cool survey. Thank you for the opportunity! ^^"
"Thank you for this survey! It makes me feel less alone in my experiences when people openly discuss things like this that are normally considered taboo."
"I really appreciate you making this survey. I’ve always found it strange that other belly related kinks like vore and feederism are fairly well known (though are often made fun of) yet the stomach growling kink which goes hand in hand with the others is seemingly quite uncommon and under the radar. I can’t wait to see the final results and know the full scope of this community."
I think one reason we fly under the radar is because there's no widely used term. This is why I throw around borborygmophilia a lot, once it sticks maybe more people will realize this is a thing that exists, and in the meantime it's just a fun way for me to be pretentious and namedrop my vice while having it fly over the heads of most people.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?
44 :)
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
337,201
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Ted Lasso
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
somebody you touch, but never hold
no thing's so sure that i can't learn to doubt it
i don't want to look at anything else now that i saw you
in the morning i'm bulletproof
but the joy was worth the pain
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do! I love them so much if someone took the time to leave a comment I want to thank them because it gives me life. So I try to respond at least with an emoji or a thank you.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
My immediate first thought was the honesty of pain but then I remembered I hit Jamie with a car and then just ended the fic soooo probably the loudest silence.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
It's hard to choose because most of my fics I do end on an upbeat note, even if things aren't better I leave it as things are going to be okay. But maybe in the morning I'm bulletproof? It skips forward probably the most amount of time.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Back on my first ever fic on fanfiction.net I did, but not necessarily hate, but "wtf is this?" which was fair lmao I only have gotten one comment and one ask (and to be fair to the ask it might've been hate or it might've been just taking the piss which I get but it was anon and I couldn't tell the tone so who knows). I am very grateful people have been so nice to me.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I've attempted a few sex scenes more to try it but I don't think I was very good at it so I probably won't try it again.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I have not.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
LOL no.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I know of.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not yet but maybe with the wonderful @fanficfanattic someday lol
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
Jamie Tartt/whump
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I haven't even been writing very long and only really started developing more WIPs in the fall. I have not yet given up hope on them.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I write a lot of whump :)
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Rereading my works I find a lot of my sentences too simple. There's not always a clear flow and things can be clunky. I wish I was better at describing how things make people feel (I can't even do it here lmao). I see so many writers who are basically writing poetry to describe a scene and I wish I could do that.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I am definitely not opposed, I think I've only made a few in French. I'm too nervous to get it wrong (google translate can only do so much) so I tend to stay away from it.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I wrote a truly horrible LOTR story my freshman year in HS.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
This is very hard, but I'l go with my favorite one with the least amount of kudos, ...and I'll be there.

Fanfic Writer Questions
Thanks for the tag @the-rebel-archivist! I think I might have been tagged by someone else a while ago but??? sorry ahahha
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
12! But two of those are art and one of them is the abandoned version of my long fic. I... don't post much ahahaha
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
71k
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Just Dragon Age :)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
In Flame Forged Anew - my long fic! DA: I, Cullen/m!Trev except not really because it's insanely slow burn. Deals with a lot of guilt and also tranquility. ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤ What You Want - My oldest work (barring my abandoned long-fic). Pavelyan, from when Connor used to be a Dorianmance. A lil confession one-shot. ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤ Battle of Attrition - Dead-dove whump for whumptober. Red Templars and torture ahoy! ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤ The Healer's Hands - Solas/Blackwall gay awakening and pining, ft. a little bit of hurt/comfort ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤ On Broken Wings We Fly - A lil friendship fic I wrote for @rosella-writes of their Lavellan's interactions with my Inquisitor and the start of their strange friendship.
5. Do you respond to comments?
I try! I also forget and get so caught up trying to write "meaningful replies" that I tend to fall behind on them ahaha
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Hhhh well it hasn't ended, but probably Battle of Attrition (since it's all just whump) or Never Say Die, a tiny thing about some of the OCxOC lead-up to the Conclave.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Most of my writing is pretty bittersweet at best, but probably Shrike, a lil Cullen PoV fic about his and Connor's relationship.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I have in the past.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Only privately, and of the heavily character focused kink variety. Trust and emotional vulnerability through physical intimacy my beloved.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Not off the top of my head, no.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware, but I mostly write OCs so probably not lol
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nopeee
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, it seems difficult?
14. What's your all time favorite ship?
... All time? Axel x Saix, probably ahahaha for Dragon Age though I'd say my favorite romance is Iron Bull's.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have yet to finish anything ever soooo
16. What are your writing strengths?
Banter and character voice! The transcript project mostly means I've heard and read so much character dialogue that their voices are ingrained in my skull. I'm also told that I'm pretty good at grounding things in physical sensation.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I've always really struggled with head-hopping and under-explaining, I think.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I've never needed to, but it depends on the fic/language. If it's something the reader would already be familiar with like or a word or phrase, I'd write it in the language, but for longer lines or a full conversation, I would either summarize for the reader or write the conversation in italicized English.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Naruto!
20. Favorite fic you've written?
Definitely my long fic, I'm very proud of it, but I love all my writing! I write very specifically to my own tastes ahahah Though my whump fic has been so indulgent it's definitely near the top.

Sleep it off - Mass Effect, Shepard/Aria T'Loak, Shep gets drunk at Purgatory and Aria babysits her
Little steps to the side - FHR, Chargestep/Argentstep/Chargentstep, currently 55? little one-shot fics, usually prompts, sometimes tiny ideas I get in my own head
Space snippets - Mass Effect Andromeda, Jaal/Ryder, a few prompt one-shots that picked up big steam when it finally went Explicit lol.
Bottles of Thedas - Dragon Age Inquisition, Solavellan, 20 short one-shots inspired by the collection of booze you can pick up off the ground throughout the game (minus the Warden mixes)
Business and Pleasure - Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2, Exile/Luxa, a re-write/better ending for Luxa gift fic for an exchange
5. Do you respond to comments? I am absolutely terrible at responding to comments because I see them in my inbox and I'm like oh yeah I'll reply to that later when I have time and then.... six months go by... the shame happens... I love every comment I get and I am so sorry alkdsfjoajsdfl
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Ehhhhhhhhhh most of my fics are in-between things, not really stand-alones on their own. Probably the one I milked the hardest for the ending of it specifically is Words not spoken (FHR, Chargestep, Ortega visits Riley's apartment post-Heartbreak)
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Again.... in-between things... the Mass Effect Andromeda and TWC fics are largely feel good fluff, so most of them?
8. Do you get hate on fics? Not that I'm aware of, lol
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Typically fluffy and/or hurt/comfort character exploration, although sometimes I feel a need to go for a whump
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I haven't written a crossover since I was 13. I'm 37 now. I don't remember. It was pre-AO3 time for sure. XD
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I'm aware of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Not that I'm aware of.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? No, but I've written fanfics to fanfics by @ellstersmash and @sidestepping because they're both so talented and I Felt The Compulsion
14. What's your all time favorite ship? Whatever I'm currently writing for, in this case... any combo of Chargentstep aaaaaaaaaaand Durgetash lol
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Me, staring at my endless folder of WIPs, some of which having not been touched in five years
Tumblr media
16. What are your writing strengths? Character explorations, snappy dialogue, short and sweet and punchy
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Writing long-haul, we're here for a good time, not a long time
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? Love it when other people do it! Very rarely do it myself!
19. First fandom you wrote for? Megaman X back in.................. 2000-ish? Very bad self-insert script fic lol
20. Favorite fic you've written? I think Time doesn't heal (FHR, Chargestep, all the Rangers and Riley experiencing the 3rd Heartbreak anniversary) is one of my biggest brain moments for writing fic, but Bottles of Thedas (mentioned above) has a special place in my heart for being the first and perhaps only large project I've finished.
Gonna taaaaaaaaaaaag... @astarien, @the-rebel-archivist, @gingerbreton, @rab-bitly, @catastrofriend

For the fanfic asks … all of them? 😁
HAHAHA Ginger! I mean...you said you'd ask for all of them XD So...I guess I'll answer them all XD.
🍄How do you come up with ideas for your stories?
A variety of ways, sometimes I get inspired to write an AU based on an episode of a show, or a novel etc. Or sometimes my brain just pops ideas into my head.
🍉Are you a pantser or a plotter?
I am very much a plotter. It's also why I don't often get much written because I need SO much to be planned before I can write.
🍒What genres/tropes do you find yourself using most often?
Fluff, 5+1, Domestic Slice of Life, AU's - I am an absolute sucker for AU's.
🥝Who are your literary influences, and have they shaped your own writing?
As much of a problematic person as they were, Anne Rice's first 3 vampire chronicles books were the books that got me thinking...oh I really wanna do this kind of thing. J R R Tolkien's descriptions very much shaped my own (i used to write horrifically long paragraphs). Neil Gaiman inspired my shorter style, quirky dialogue with inside jokes aimed at the reader.
🥕What's your favorite fic you've written, and why?
My favourite fic is a toss up between "Your Arms Are Like Corset Strings" (9-1-1, Buddie) and "Rainbow Coloured Monstrosity" (9-1-1: Lone Star, Tarlos).
The rest I'm gonna put under a cut haha or this post is gonna get SUPER long.
🥨How do you overcome writer's block?
When I work it out I'll tell you haha. I don't think I've ever managed beyond just pushing through and hate-smashing at the keyboard, or just waiting for the inspiration to come back by itself.
🍕What's your favorite comment you've received on a fic?
Honestly as cliche as it might sound, all comments I get are my favourites. I couldn't pick any specific ones, I enjoy comments so much.
🌭Do you have any writing rituals to help 'get in the zone'?
I use a lot of notebooks, I also get really sad and make powerpoint presentations of planning. Then I either listen to music, or put on some series that Ive seen enough times that it can be background noise.
🍔What's a headcanon that hasn't made it into a published fic yet?
I HC a few things for different people but they're not exactly huge things, but have a few examples. I headcanon that Alec Hardy is a huge fantasy novel fan. I headcanon that Eddie Diaz has chronic pain in his shoulders. I headcanon that Aziraphale hates the scent of pine.
🍭What's been your most challenging story to write, and why?
I'm writing a huge multi-part reincarnated soulmates AU, in which the soulmates meet each other throughout history and have different names etc. and it's...taking me soooo long. And honestly it's just because it so long and has so many historical points I need to research hahaha.
🍬What's a genre/trope you've never written, but might in future?
I'm...not sure tbh. Theres a lot of genre's/tropes I don't like or I'm not comfortable with so won't ever touch. But the ones I do like, I've attempted or I am in the process of attempting.
🍩What advice would you give to aspiring fic writers?
Just go for it. Find something you really, really want to see written and write it, because at the end of the day you write for yourself first and foremost. If you try to write to please everyone you'll stress yourself out too much.
🌶How dependent are you on feedback, good or bad?
Bad feedback is never warranted. I do not write for profit so therefore do not need amazon style reviews. Nor do I ask for constructive criticism. I appreciate if someone wants to tell me they like what I wrote though.
🥑What are you currently working on?
I am currently working on a bunch of things: Doctor Who x Good Omens crossover - The events of "The Giggle" with Crowley tagging along. Broadchurch Whump - 2 entries, poor Alec is getting tormented. Broadchurch x Good Omens x Rab C Nesbitt crossover - Alec, Crowley and Davina are identical triplets. Shenanigans ensue. Buddie birthday gift for someone dear to me. Buddie soulmates AU.
🍹How do you decide a story is ready to post?
I finish writing it haha. I let it come to a natural stopping point and then try not to over think it.
🍊What's a story that changed significantly from its initial idea to the final draft?
My reincarnated soulmates AU. I've changed so many historical points and condensed some and completely scrapped a whole half of it haha.
🥠What's your approach to world-building?
Powerpoints. Powerpoints and mind maps haha. If I'm going AU I will plan it like I'm Tolkien creating middle earth haha XD.
🍎How do you prioritize which stories to work on when you have multiple ideas?
I don't. My brain goes brrr and tries to plan all of them at once to the point I can't work on ANY of them haha.
🌮How do you balance the desire to write for yourself versus the desire to write for an audience?
I have been writing on and off since I was 13, and I used to write entirely for the audience and it stressed me out. Whilst I enjoy audience responses and like to receive comments confirming that they enjoyed what I wrote, if I don't like it, I won't post it, but if I enjoyed what I wrote I will love it regardless.

Ask Meme!! 17, 21 (sunless space), 30, 39, 41, 49, 50!
17. What highly specific AU do you want to read or write even though you might be the only person to appreciate it?
I want to do a Lawlu AU inspired by the Dark Rise series where Luffy is Will and Law is James. It is VERY specific because not enough people have read Dark Rise, but I am obsessed.
21. If you wrote a “missing scene” in [insert fic], what would it be?
I think I'd do missing scenes set during the time that Law has been taken back by the family and is rebelling against them, only to be increasingly beaten down. There's so much time there to explore (and it would be a great chance for more Law whump 😂)
30. Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter?
The most recent chapter of "Sunless Space" definitely qualifies! I had to stop partway through the scene because it was making me anxious, heh. But both finishing that and the absolutely incredible response that scene has gotten, it makes me want to push the boundaries even more.
39. Is any aspect of your writing process inspired by other writers or people? If so, who?
I will say that @betsib, riverofnara, @cosmicatta, @nimudae @katia-anyway and the others at the Truffyfest Discord are a huge support when I'm stuck on something. They're amazing at helping me get through blocks!
41. Link a fic that made you think, “Wow, I want to write like that.”
"The Thing That Remains" has some of my absolute favorite characterizations of Law and Luffy.
49. What are you currently working on? Share a few lines if you’re up for it!
I have a few zine pieces in process that I can't talk about yet, but those will be coming soon.
I haven't started the next chapters of "Sunless Space" and "The Night Is Darkening Round Me," but those are coming.
The next thing I'm planning to write has the following summary: "Law wants it rough, wants it to hurt because it’s what he deserves after losing everything. Again. Luffy knows he needs something else."
50. Answer any question of your choice, or talk about anything you want to talk about!
I'm going to go with 16: What’s an AU you would love to read (or have read and loved)?
I am absolutely obsessed with "Roll Like Thunder, Burn Like Stars," which is a Jessica Jones AU where Law is Jessica and Doffy is Kilgrave. I've reread it more times than I can count, but it hasn't been updated in 6 years 💔
Thanks for the ask!

MacGyver Fanwork Bingo FAQ - September 2023
Who is this for?
Every MacGyver fan is invited to participate. Post a fanwork on Tumblr or AO3 to mark off a square.
What type of fanworks count?
Any type of fanwork counts! Gifs, videos, artwork, and fiction are all welcome. You could also post a story analysis, tell us your feelings on a scene in the show, post a new incorrect quote, or some other related work.
We’ve arranged the prompts to ensure that there are multiple bingo options for fanworks of canon like gifs of the show.
How do I use the bingo card?
There are two bingo cards to choose from: the regular 5x5 square bingo card, and the mini 3x3 square card. You choose which card to use and whether you want to try to cross off one line of 5, one line of 3, or go for a blackout on the mini or regular bingo card.
Each bingo square on the bingo card contains two prompts. Cross off the square after using either prompt. You don’t have to use both.
We’ve also provided two alternate squares. Replace any square on either card with an alternate square to customize your bingo board & change up your prompt options.
Is this a whump challenge thing?
No. Each square contains one casual affection or comfort prompt, and one whump or hurt/comfort prompt. Make any kind of work you want with the prompts you choose.
What about AI-generated or assisted fanwork?
AI generated or AI assisted fic or art is NOT welcome.
I wrote a thing! When do I post it?
The target posting date is every Friday in September, because the show aired on Fridays. (Also there are conveniently 5 Fridays in the month so it’s perfect for bingo!)
What if I miss the target date? Can I post it later?
Yes! Your bingo entries are always welcome.
Is there an AO3 collection?
The collection will be MacGyver Fanwork Bingo 2023. The collection will open on September 1, 2023. Please add your work! :)
What about Tumblr tags?
Tag the event ( #macgyverbingo ) and add a tag for the prompt(s) you used. And please please please don’t forget to @ this blog so we can reblog it.
Who’s running this thing?
The shadowy faces behind the curtain for this event are @impossiblepluto and @rosieblogstuff 👋

20 questions for fic writers
Thanks @bluejayblueskies for the tag!
1. How many works do you have on Ao3?
58!
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count?
463,287
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Malevolent! But I do have a tma long fic going on that I am still working on and updating regularly.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
After the Circus (tma)
Can't Get Up (tma)
Broken Ribs (tma)
Things You Said When You Were Scared (tma)
Cold as the Rain that Falls in December (Malevolent)
5. Do you respond to comments?
Yes! Comments mean a ton to me so I try to respond to them!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Oh man either Things You Said Through Your Teeth (tma, a little study on Martin grieving everyone throughout the seasons, ending with him pushing Jon away) OR I Don't Want to be So Sober So (Malevolent, that ended up with Arthur possibly drinking himself to death. I mean you could chose to believe that John got him back home. I don't think I've actually decided, even when I wrote it).
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I mean... all the rest of them, probably. I write happy endings. Angst with happy endings. Maybe the Jumanji fic? The first one ends up pretty happy.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not that I know of? Am I popular enough to get hate?
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Nope.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
GODS, okay so this isn't published. Hell it's in an old NOTEBOOK, but once I wrote a crossover between Doctor Horrible's Sing Along Blog and Bones.
Of the things published, I do have a tma Jumanji au, but I wouldn't call that a crossover.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so?
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I know of.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I was going to, once upon a time, but it fell through. That was a very long time ago.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
I'm not sure. I like queerplatonic ships over anything else. I really like playing around with the inbetween relationships of Jon and Tim (tma) and Arthur and Parker and John (Malevolent). But I'm not sure if I really write or ship any of them romantically. I like the messy inbetweens. And being aro ace, I kind of explore the plasticity of relationships through that lens.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I'm pretty methodical with things so I don't have a lot of projects left undone. I would like to write a third chapter for my oneshot fic called Coffee. And I would like to fix up the second chapter enough that I can actually post it.
In a wider sense. I have so much more I want to do in the Parker Lives AU, but I have no idea what I'll be able to do with time/work/mental health constraints. I'm certainly not done with the AU. But will it ever be truly finished?
16. What are your writing strengths?
rambling. Endlessly. Which is also a weakness. But I sure can do whump and stream of consciousness.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I haven't the foggiest idea how video games work and I am writing a video game au.
In a more serious sense. I have a lot of trouble with pacing. I fill everything up with my rambling and I have no idea if I am getting the original point across or if it's gotten lost along the way. It also tends to make it hard to stick in important details in a longer form work. I get too busy with tangents.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I don't think I know other languages well enough.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Ice Age 3, Dawn of the Dinosaurs. And it was written in marker in a plastic spiral bound notebook. And it will never see the light of day.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
For tma, probably If That's What it is
For Malevolent... I'm not sure. I love of Cold as the Rain (and that might be my top pick overall) but I am also really proud of myself for finishing Phosphenes and Pasts. I guess my readers will have to be the judge of that once I finish posting it!
