L’opera, in parte fotografica, ripercorre alcuni party esclusivi e come è nata l’idea dell’allestimento. I bozzetti eseguiti dall’autore testimoniano la sua grande capacità di essere visionario e di saper mettere a punto una scenografia impareggiabile.

"_____", are you- Part 1
Here's the Continuation of this au?
Anything that is indented means it in korean.
‘Don’t freak but I think we’re in Lovely Princess.’
*Choke* “Arhen?!”
It’s been a week since they've been living in one of the villas owned by the imperial family of Obelia with Princess Selena along with her family. During that time, Eden and one of Selena’s maids went to Deorlina Castel to receive Verbena. It was fairly easy since Rurahelle once again just dropped her off and left without even bothering to check if the twins were there. While the maids do take care of Verbena via instructions by Rurahelle and the head maid, they still neglect her during the day like the twins leaving her to play with the twins. Eden only packed a few of Verbena’s dresses since most of the dresses Rurahelle brought for Verbena weren’t presentable. Fast forward to last in the day when they returned to the villa and Arhen had woken up. Since the doctor recommended for Arhen not to move his arms too much at the moment, Eden was feeding him until Arienne spoke.
 “What happened?! Did you forget to swallow?! Verbena, hand me the glass of water from the table.” Said Eden frantically. Verbena flinched at the sudden command. “O-okay!” said Verbena. Verbena leaned from her chair to reach the glass of water and handed it to her aunt. “Auntie, is Arhen gonna be okay?” asked Verbena. She was glad Arhen was recovering from his wounds but she feels guilty for not being there for him and Arienne. Maybe she should’ve begged her mother to let her stay in the castle harder yesterday.
“I’m fin-’” *cough* “Big sister,” Reassured Arhen. He already worried Arienne and his aunt, Eden; he didn’t want to worry another girl in his current family. “Arhen, here drink this and be careful” said Eden as she tried to make Arhen drink the water. “Okay, Auntie.” Arhen said nonchalantly. Eden helped Arhen with the glass and Arhen began drinking his water. ‘You know it’s rude to leave people unanswered, Geon.’ Said Arienne. While she is concerned about Arhen’s health, she wanted to hear his response to her statement.
‘And it’s rude to startle an injured patient, Sun-Hi. Did you forget who’s injured here?’ Said Arhen. After making sure he was fine and finished eating, Eden left the room to bring the plates to the villa’s kitchen. Meanwhile she left Verbena to watch the twins as she was coming. “Okay, babies! Auntie left me in charge of you for a few minutes so Arienne be on your best behavior”. Said Verbena with a puff. “Eh?!” Arienne whipped her head towards her older sister with a “serious” expression. Arienne always thought it was funny how this 9 year old (soon to be 10) always tried to be the grown up in situations.
*Snickers* Arienne looks toward the infirmary bed and sees Arhen covering his mouth so she couldn’t see him snickering at her. “You-” Arienne is picked up by Verbena and was placed on her sister’s lap. “There! We’ll just wait until Auntie comes back.” said Verbena. She wasn’t letting her leave the room.
‘So why’d you mentioned that cringey book?’ “Eh?” Arienne looked towards Arhen to see he was expecting an answer. Arienne sighed and answered her brother, ‘well I think we might be in that book right now. Remember that girl you passed out on? Well she had blue jeweled eyes. JEWELED eyes, Arhen! Literally, where else have we heard about that?!’ Shouted Arienne. ‘Ouch, my ears! The girl I passed out had jeweled blue eyes? I know we were born into a fantasy world but I think that’s stretching it a bit.’ Said Arhen.
They’re in Lovely Princess? The very book that made him want to rip his hair due to the adults in the story. The protagonist was manipulated since childhood and wanted a family but when she got it, she was stuck with a tyrant for a father who neglected her younger siblings and later unjustifiably executed one of her younger sisters for misunderstanding. That Lovely Princess?! He remembers reading online comments about the book and feeling sick after seeing fans justifying the tyrant’s actions, “how he was showing his love for his daughter”. He remembers feeling bad for those siblings. Honestly comparing their unfortunate situations, he relates to them in a way.
‘Show me’ ‘What?’ ‘Show me. I want to see the girl with my own eyes.’ Arhen said honestly. Arienne looked at Arhen and noticed he was being serious. *Gulp* ‘Arhen there’s also one more thing you should know.’ Said Arienne. ‘What? Let me guess, is one of them reincarnated like us?’ Arhen said sarcastically.
‘Well yes actually, I think it's athy to be exact’
“What?!”
“Gwah! Arhen?!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eden came back and asked if Verbena and the twins wanted to go to the playroom to play with the other children in the villa but Verbena denied since she would be in a room filled with a bunch of three year olds. There weren’t any older kids in the villa so Verbena was going to stay in her room reading until Selena gets a teacher for her; In Obelia, children started their education at 8 so she was a bit late by Obelian law.
So then Eden brought the twins to the playroom where some of Selena’s nieces and nephews were playing. Eden went to the other side of the room to sit with who the twins assume they’re the mothers since they were dressed in noble clothing. ‘You know I am aware that Jennette has a lot of younger siblings but this is a lot!’ said Arienne. ‘Lot of siblings? Didn’t she actually only have two siblings who she never got to meet? Athanasia and the others are her siblings.’ Corrected Arhen. While he detested Lovely Princess, he did remember key details about the book like who readers would get confused by the amount of siblings the protagonist, Jennette, had within the story. While others pay no mind to it since most of them were never named in the book, only gave descriptions like their hair and eye color.
On the Arienne’s side, Arhen sees a toddler with dark gray hair with jeweled blue eyes like Jennette and Athanasia. Princess Argiro de Alger Obelia, the youngest princess. She was playing with an animal plushie. ‘Oh Kolya’s here!’ ‘Hm?’ He turns around and spots a toddler on a woman’s lap, presumably his mother since both appear to have air force blue hair and orange eyes. However, the boy’s eyes were jeweled. Prince Kolya de Alger Obelia, the third prince of Obelia. In the novel, Koyla didn’t like Jennette at first due to his father’s, Claude, obvious favoritism shown for her.
But where was Athanasia? He looked around and spotted a maid with brown hair and celeste eyes holding a toddler with sunflower blonde. Lilian York, Athanasia’s nanny and one of the people who defended Athanasia before she was killed. So then the toddler she’s holding would have to be Athanasia.
Arienne seemed to notice too cause she got up and gently got him to his feet. They walked over and noticed both Lilian and Athanasia saw them approaching. Athanasia got off of Lilian’s lap and walked over to the twins. “Ari, you brought goldie!” exclaimed Athanasia. “Goldie?” Questioned the twins. Athanasia nodded. “Yep! Your hair looks like gold! Hehe.” Replied Athanasia.
“My name’s Arhen.” Said Arhen. He wanted to see if Arienne was right. He sees anything out of the ordinary. Should he just ask? If she didn’t reincarnate like them, it would be fine since she won’t remember.  Athanasia tilted her head at Arhen’s name and said,”Arhen? Like a chicken?” she said childlike. “Princess! That’s rude!” Said Lilian. “Oops, sorry ki- eh but Lily he was hen in his name like a chicken!” “Your Highness!” Arhen was pretty sure she almost called him kid. Maybe he should ask instead?
‘You know I always thought your new name was a bit weird, Geon.’ He looked towards Arienne who had a smug look on her face. ‘Oh screw off! I didn’t choose the name ‘Arhen’. We were literally born into a fantasy world!’ said Arhen. “Ari? Goldie? Where are you making weird faces?” Said Athanasia. Apparently, she noticed their expressions were changing as they telepathically talked to one another. “Oh nothing, athy! We’re playing a game? Right, Arhen?” Arienne said, unsure how to excuse them. “Um yes?” ‘Athy? What kind of nickname is that?’ ‘Hey, I think it's cute besides her name is long.’ ‘Yeah that’s true’
“Ok? Wanna you want to play dolls?” said Athanasia. The twins agreed and they went to the area where the toys were. There they noticed a toddler with bright purple hair. They got the dolls but things got weird as how do you play with dolls as a three year old and make it look natural while also remembering you are mentally older? So they tried to break the silence.
“......Ari, Goldie-”
“.....Athy-”
“Did you reincarnate like me too?”
“Did you reincarnate like us too?”
Hope you guys liked it!
Irma Bandiera
Passeranno i morti, ma resteranno i sogni.
Irma Bandiera, nome di battaglia Mimma, è stata una partigiana italiana seviziata, accecata e trucidata dai nazifascisti, una delle eroine simbolo della lotta di tante donne impegnate nella Resistenza.
Nacque l’8 aprile 1915 a Bologna, in una famiglia benestante, suo padre Angelo era capomastro edile  oppositore del regime durante la dittatura. Sua madre si chiamava Argentina Manferrati e aveva una sorella di nome Nastia.
Aveva anche un fidanzato, Federico, militare a Creta che venne fatto prigioniero dai tedeschi dopo l’8 settembre 1943 e rimase disperso dopo che la nave su cui era imbarcato per il trasferimento in Germania venne bombardata e affondò al porto del Pireo. Vane furono le ricerche per ritrovarlo.
Iniziò ad aiutare i soldati sbandati dopo l’armistizio e a interessarsi di politica, aderendo al Partito Comunista.
A Funo, dove andava a trovare i parenti, conobbe uno studente di medicina, Dino Cipollani, il partigiano Marco che la spinse a entrare nella VII brigata GAP Gianni Garibaldi di Bologna.
Il 5 agosto 1944 i partigiani uccisero un ufficiale tedesco e un comandante delle brigate nere. Cominciò una tremenda rappresaglia che vide coinvolta anche la partigiana Mimma, che aveva trasportato delle armi alla base della sua formazione a Castel Maggiore. Venne arrestata mentre si trovava a casa dello zio, la sera del 7 agosto e rinchiusa nelle scuole di San Giorgio,  isolata dal resto dei suoi compagni. Venne poi portata a Bologna dove, per sei giorni e sei notti venne ferocemente seviziata dai fascisti della Compagnia Autonoma Speciale, guidati dal Capitano Renato Tartarotti, che arrivarono ad accecarla con una baionetta, per farla parlare, ma lei non ha mai rivelato i nomi delle sue compagne e compagni di lotta.
I familiari la cercarono dappertutto sperando di trovarla in vita, la giovane resistette alle torture fino alla fine ma venne fucilata e poi finita con alcuni colpi di pistola al Meloncello di Bologna, nei pressi della casa dei suoi genitori, il 14 agosto 1944.
Il suo cadavere venne lasciato esposto per un giorno intero, come monito, fino a quando i parenti non riuscirono a riprenderselo.
Portata all’Istituto di Medicina Legale, un custode, amico della Resistenza, scattò le foto del suo viso devastato dalle torture.
In suo onore, una formazione di partigiani operanti a Bologna prese il nome Prima Brigata Garibaldi  Irma Bandiera. A lei venne intitolata una brigata SAP (Squadra di azione patriottica) che operava nella periferia nord di Bologna ed un GDD (Gruppo di Difesa della Donna).
La federazione bolognese del PCI il 4 settembre 1944 pubblicò un foglio volante, stampato in clandestinità, nel quale si ricordava il senso altamente patriottico del sacrificio di Irma incitando i bolognesi a intensificare la lotta contro i nazifascisti.
È sepolta nel Monumento Ossario ai Caduti Partigiani della Certosa di Bologna ed è ricordata nel Sacrario di Piazza Nettuno e nel Monumento alle Cadute Partigiane a Villa Spada.
A Bologna, nella via che porta il suo nome è deposta una lapide che reca scritto: “Il tuo ideale seppe vincere le torture e la morte. La libertà e la giovinezza offristi per la vita e il riscatto del popolo e dell’Italia. Solo l’immenso orgoglio attenua il fiero dolore dei compagni di lotta. Quanti ti conobbero e amarono nel luogo del tuo sacrificio a  perenne ricordo posero”.
Il suo assassinio, compiuto anche per scoraggiare pericolosi tentativi di emulazione, finì per produrre l’effetto contrario e tante donne seguirono il suo esempio e si unirono alla battaglia per la liberazione dell’Italia.
Ci sono strade che portano il suo nome in vari comuni italiani.
Riconosciuta partigiana alla fine della guerra venne decorata con la Medaglia d’Oro al Valor Militare, insieme ad altre 18 partigiane.
«Prima fra le donne bolognesi a impugnare le armi per la lotta nel nome della libertà, si batté sempre con leonino coraggio. Catturata in combattimento dalle SS. tedesche, sottoposta a feroci torture, non disse una parola che potesse compromettere i compagni. Dopo essere stata accecata fu barbaramente trucidata e il corpo lasciato sulla pubblica via. Eroina purissima degna delle virtù delle italiche donne, fu faro luminoso di tutti i patrioti bolognesi nella guerra di liberazione.»
“È nella Resistenza – ha dichiarato Marisa Rodano alla Camera dei deputati in occasione del 70° anniversario della Liberazione – che le donne italiane, quelle di cui Mussolini aveva detto ‘nello stato fascista la donna non deve contare‘; alle quali tutti i governi avevano rifiutato il diritto di votare, la possibilità di partecipare alle decisioni da cui dipendeva il loro destino e quello dei loro cari, entrano impetuosamente nella storia e la prendono nelle loro mani. Nel momento in cui tutto è perduto e distrutto – indipendenza, libertà, pace – e la vita, la stessa sussistenza fisica sono in pericolo, ecco le donne uscire dalle loro case, spezzare vincoli secolari, e prendere il loro posto nella battaglia, perché combattere era necessario, era l’unica cosa giusta che si poteva fare”.
Palazzo Massimo - Rome Inspired by the magnificent palaces of the 16th century, Palazzo Massimo was built between 1883 and 1887 by the Jesuit priest Massimiliano Massimo, based on a design by Camillo Pistrucci, to house the new Jesuit school. In 1981, the Palazzo was acquired by the Italian Government to become one of the new sites for the National Roman Museum. A radical renovation of the building was entrusted to Costantino Dardi and the Palazzo opened to the public in 1998. Since then, the original installation has been revised and adjusted on a number of occasions, interweaving the various threads of the exhibition using a design based on chronology and theme. By referring to the contexts in which the artefacts were found, this creates the suggestion that different works are jumbled together as in the bustling collections of the 16th century. Now, moving through the rooms of the Palazzo Massimo is like leafing through the pages of a wonderful book. Its four floors contain some of the greatest masterpieces of the entire artistic output of the Roman world: sculptures, reliefs, frescos, mosaics, stuccoes and sarcophagi, originating, like all of the treasures of the National Roman Museum, from excavations undertaken in Rome and the surrounding region from 1870 onwards. The route of the visit begins with the theme of the portrait and its evolution, from exclusive use by the most illustrious citizens in the Archaic Period to the widespread use of portraits among freedmen, from portraits of Greek origin, such as those of Alexander the Great, to those of simple Roman citizens eager for self-celebration at the end of the Republic, like the Tivoli General, and new forms of portraiture linked to the birth of the Empire, such as Augustus dressed as the Pontifex Maximus. Greek originals in marble, such as the Niobid from the Horti Sallustiani (Gardens of Sallust), and in bronze, including the Boxer at Rest and the Hellenistic Prince from the Baths of Constantine, are typical examples of the models of Greek art that came to Rome with the wars of conquest. Continuing the history of portraits in the Imperial Age, the first floor displays the Roman taste for reworkings and copies of ideal sculptures, like the Discobolus of Myron, presented in two well-known reproductions – the Lancellotti Discobolus and the Discobolus of Castel Porziano -, the Sleeping Hermaphroditus, the Aphrodite of Menophantos, and innumerable works depicting gods and mythological figures. However, sculpture also became a means of expression for celebrating victories at the borders of the Empire, such as the monumental Portonaccio sarcophagus, and a method for paying tribute to the greatness of well-known figures in the society of the late Roman Empire, as can be seen from the Acilia and Annona Sarcophagi. The second floor of the Palazzo is dedicated entirely to frescos, stuccoes and mosaics. One element that is fundamental in fully grasping the taste and aesthetic sense of the Roman aristocracy is the superb wall decorations of major archaeological complexes, such as the Villa di Livia in Prima Porta, the Villa Farnesina in Trastevere and the Villa di Termini. The basement level offers a selection from the collections from the National Roman Museum’s Coin and Medal Collection and is dedicated to the economy and the use of money, interpreted through an exhibition of coins, jewellery, precious ornaments and documents relating to the daily cost of life.
adventures in rome part 4
so in the morning of the second day we first took a guided tour by bus around the ancient monuments of the city (mostly)
we saw castel sant’ angelo (on the left) from afar, that has gardens around it shaped like a star and there’s a secret passage connecting it to the vatican through which various popes have escaped peril. its name is taken as “castle of the angels” but more correctly it’s “castle of st. angel”. close by is rome’s palace of justice, the seat of the supreme court of cassation
Tumblr media Tumblr media
then we reached villa borghese (its entrance on the left), a giant public park with the building being an art museum. in the past all parks were villas bc they actually were; the most powerful families held villas with huge gardens, some of which still survive to this day. the city of rome managed to buy this park and maintain its nature in contrast to some of the other villas where their gardens were uprooted and built.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
we drove through part of the park and eventually reached piazza della repubblica, where stands the fountain of the naiads (greek nymphs presiding over bodies of fresh water) and in the back santa maria degli angeli e dei martiri (st mary of the angels and the martyrs) a basilica built inside the ruined baths of diocletian following an original design by michelangelo
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
after that we also saw santa maria maggiore (st mary major), one of the first churches built to celebrate virgin mary after, in 431 ad, she was proclaimed mary mother of god by the council of ephesus. the church was built in that immediate aftermath. its ceiling internally is gilded with the first gold brought from peru, which queen isabella donated to the then pope. this was the biggest church before the construction of st peter’s basilica in the vatican
