#eliot posts#touch starved#i was rereading through some of my old fics and#the plot of one is basically a character being touch hangry#i'd say i get touch hangry but not really. i don't actually get angry about it but i DO get a strong urge to playfight#anyway my consensus upon rereading my fics is:#all three of my infinity train fics are actually pretty good#'from things that accidentally touch' is prolly the best one?#but i'm actually liking 'you can run away with me anytime you want' a lot rn bc i really dig the qpr vibes i established there#i was dissatisfied with 'and the moon's never seen me before' when i wrote it but i actually really like it now. made me smile.#i don't really like either of my toh fics very much#i like the concept of 'interlacing' and AM gonna finish it up but i hate how i wrote most of it#'the beach episode' has some good bits but i dislike a lot of it. it was the first thing i'd written in YEARS and it shows#kinda hate that it's my most popular fic cuz it's my least favourite#but people enjoying it so much did encourage me to practice writing some more i think?#i don't regret writing it. i think i needed the practice and writing my first fic since like eighth grade was nice#sidenote i WISH eighth grade eliot didn't delete their fic out of shame. i wanna read it.#anyway i think i wanna post the last chapter of tbe eventually. i think it's half written somewhere#it's my least fav fic and a bunch of my headcanons got disproven but i think it deserves to be finished#i have a couple readers who still wanna see the ending despite it being years and it just being a slice of life fic so no cliffhangers#('from things that accidentally touch' is my touch hangry fic)#that fic originally had my highest kudos to hits ratio but now it has the lowest ratio of any of my single chapter fics#and i know it is because people have been rereading it since then for comfort and that makes me really happy

so uh, i've been brain rotting and hyperfixating on encanto for a bit now, and its been very fun
tho i've barely talked about some of the ideas and aus i have and want to share, so i guess i want to do that now in a way, so uh... (mirabel voice) lets go lets go

1. Time Travel AU
first au i've ever thought about, cool hue sisters centered, because i love them sm and i was still finding my footing in encanto and the fandom when i thought of this au, and yeah
its where isabela and luisa get sent back to the past after going after and protecting mirabel as casita falls
i gained the idea after seeing how the two older sisters were still so terrified of alma and disappointing her that they couldn't stand up for mirabel and for themselves, but as casita was falling, they weren't about to let their baby sister go, not after everything
despite this being the first au, its also still really vague and barebones in a sense, not much planned yet and its all just vibes, plus i just really wanted a cool sisters au because i love them sm
2. Big Hero 6 AU
ah yes, big hero 6 au, my beloved
came to be when i figured out bear aka @gamerbearmira's reference in one of her encanto one shots, the scooby doo one where they got arrested, and she used bh6's aunt cass' rant for alma's rant in said one shot, and then it led me to realize the potential of encanto big hero 6 au with bear, so that was fun

there's a bunch more info that we haven't shared yet, but it's all written up in the docs for it, so yesyes
honestly been a bit since i touched the au personally, as i keep getting distracted by the other ones below

3. [Redacted] AU
ah yes, this au, the 120 and counting pages one in my docs
and the 120 pages are mostly just details and planning for the au, not a single written thing yet
this au is not called redacted au, but the name itself is redacted because the word itself is a bit of a spoiler and im still trying to find a better name for it in general
i have no idea how to explain this au
first thing to mention is how its very much inspired by Take Back the Kingdom by @optimistic-violinist and @impossiblefangirl0632 (sorry for the tag, i can take it out if you'd like) and i really really recommend this fic, its so so good and it changed my brain chemistry on so many levels
so yes, i really got inspired by this fic, and it will very much be shown in this particular au with some things and tropes, but ofc im doing my own spin on stuff and the details, and from what i have rn, i think it really evolved and is still evolving as time goes on
another thing to note about this is how the idea came to be because of TBTK inspiration and a dream i had on the day i was taking a metaphysics midterms exam (this is completely unnecessary to mention but oh well, i still remember that moment so vividly)
the dream impacted just exactly how this au is going to go
what is the dream about? you'll find out whenever i get to write this au
all i can say without spoiling much is that there are lots of memory shenanigans and angst, plus the very fun trope of "your found family is your actual family"
also once more, read take back the kingdom, very good fic, 11/10, much recommend, will reread again
4. Ghost Cocoon AU
this au is the fusion of the Cocoon au and the Ghost Grandkids au, both still found in @/gamerbearmira's blog
ghost grandkids au is from @jerseyk112 and cocoon au is from @raefever, and ofc bear has a lot of ideas and thoughts for these aus in her blog
i was rereading bear's cocooned fic for the 17123723507 time and while i was at it, i remembered the ghost grandchildren au, so i decided it would be pretty fun to fuse the two aus together in some way
and so i did (first ask, second ask)
basic premise of this au is really just the ghost kids' healing and them protecting their younger selves and their family
this fusion au interested me so much that it got to the point where i actually wrote a 3683 word first chapter of sorts(?) for this fusion au already (bear has seen it but i havent posted it at all)
planning on continuing it when i feel like it tho hehe
so yes its been wild with this one
5. Giftless Grandkids AU
giftless grandkids au, my beloved
just as the name says, au where all the grandkids are giftless
all i can say is everything and nothing changes all at the same time with this
this au was sent and suggested by an anon in bear's blog
this is also the one where bear and i went wild on for the past few days
pretty sure bear is gonna be writing this au, if im not mistaken? so its very exciting
there's a lot in store for this au and it'll be fun
6. Undertale AU
undertale au yesyes
not the type where the characters are these characters tho
this idea is where we'll be throwing the grandkids into the underground for an adventure of a lifetime!
so basically characters of one media meet characters of the other media type
and the kids are gonna be going through the plot of undertale, technically in frisk's shoes here
this au is still very vibes and not much planned, there's lots of potential to play around tho, so im thinking of exploring this at some point soon
7. Gravity Falls AU
gravity falls au this time!!
now this au is the one pure vibes one, absolutely zero planning or thoughts, just vibes and aspirations for it
not even sure if it'll be like the undertale au where characters of one media will meet characters of the other media or if it'll be characters from this media are gonna be these characters of that media in this au
i just thought it would be fun to have an encanto gravity falls au idea, but still dont know where it'll be going in general

Very random and out of pocket but!! A few weeks ago I followed some classes on designing book covers based on themes and what you want possible readers to feel when seeing the book for the first time.
So it's been a while since I did that, and I got to thinking, what if I make some little cover sketches for otwd to practise? After some thinking and rereading some of the earlier chapters, I put down a little concept;
The most important part, for me, was showing one of two main things that really jumped out to me when reading; the ocean/freedom and betrayal. So, I jotted down some things for either idea.
For the ocean/freedom, I decided to go with a bit more of a traditional cover, very balanced, very light, as Nuffink's story isn't dark from the very start. I'd combine it with lighter shades of blue (to connect it to Nuff's main colours as well) with the colours darkening in ITPN and book three (see the colour palette in the top! Would also help the cold of itpn stand out)
In the first option, I also thought it would be really cool if the ocean was parting slightly as a way to invite nuffink to its waters, real "child of the ocean" vibes (and also to keep the image more balanced). The mist in the background would be a nod back to HTTYD and RTTE, where the mists to both the Dragon Island and into the Great Beyond was a symbol for mystery and adventure. And that's what Nuff's doing! He's going on an adventure that's gonna scar him for life! I'm still contemplating if the Chicken should be drifting on the ocean in the bg, but I think it would be a very good nod to Nuffink being invited onto the open waters. This cover would be leaning towards a light blue!
The second cover I based on the theme of betrayal and, more literally translated into the image, backstabbing. This would be much darker and colder immediately, which I'm not certain is the best decision considering the first chapters of otwd aren't outright dark, but it would display the idea of betrayal very well! As for colours, again, it would be darker, but still keeping the idea of blue to connect it back to Nuff and his ocean. The knife would be hanging just above his back (which would also be pretty significant as for the most part in otwd, he's not actively being betrayed, it's more hanging above his head and hits him at the end and thus it hanging above his back instead of already being in his back would make this more clear)
Anyways, that was a bit of my thought process behind these cover ideas! I'm not entirely certain if I'll work them out (it really depends on time lmao) but just in case I won't, here are the sketches and the ideas!
Again, this might be very out of pocket but I just love thinking about these kind of things haha
That class sounds really cool omg. I love these ideas! I've brainstormed otwd covers in the past but very generic ideas like just a picture of the kids flying on their dragons lol not so much theme based like a real book cover.
The composition of the first idea reminds me of the painting Wanderer above the Sea of Fog which is soo fitting! I like the idea of ocean/freedom/betrayal as the fundamental themes for the first one and it's interesting to think how the themes would change over time through itpn and totg. Do you know the book series Red Queen? They're sitting on my shelf rn and the covers have a similar shade of blue and each book is darker as the story becomes darker, I love the effect.
My dream would be to eventually commission a set of matching covers like these (maybe after I finish all 3 fics or at least start posting totg) and also make my own set of covers. If I ever make my own set I'd probably give each character their own cover- maybe Nuffink for otwd, Baldur for the downed dragon, Bjorn for itpn, Eret for the dancing and the dreaming, and Zephyr for totg? Gustav's prequel would be tricky lol

Gabe my friend, I was just rereading your more domestic Dreamling fics, and I was just struck by how much of a malewife Hob is. This isn't anything new, I think everyone can agree Hob would totally be the kind of wife that cooks and cleans for you, never complaining about how much you work. Soooo, naturally, my mind immediately went to horny mode with this 🤣🤣
This could totally work with the sugar baby au btw or a separate au. But the main catalyst is maybe Hob saw a show or anime once and saw the wife trope, you know the one, "Welcome home dear, would you like a bath, or dinner, or.... me?" And thought, "OMG that's totally me with Dream, let me kick it up a notch."
So one night, Dream goes to Hob's place, goes through the front door for once, and Hob is there wearing only an apron, being sweet and asking him about his day, how was work etc etc. Hob is taking off his coat, ushering him to sit down, serving him drinks.
Hshdehsjshbs I'm getting excited by my own prompt 🤣🤣
Dream is astounded in the best way, and he is so freaking hard, looking at Hob with only an apron, flitting about the apartment, acting like his wife. This is totally unprecedented, and Dream is considering punishing Hob for being so freaking sexy. And then Hob delivers the finishing blow, the line from before. I can't decide if I want him straddling Dream's lap, grinding on the raging hard on or he's bending over and showing off the ruby plug while he's saying it. Either way, Dream ends up throwing his drink aside. After that, well, let's just say Hob had to call off work for a week due to leg issues.
I'm not sure if I've said this before, but all are welcome to write fics based on my prompts. I'm working on multiple fics rn, the more slut Hob fics the better, I say.

Like, obviously Dream doesn't have an "office" but he does usually come to Hob’s flat around the same each day. And sometimes Hob is waiting for him, either dressed up in some demure little wifey outfit that Dream got for him (like a pretty sheer blouse and a velvet skirt, or some skinny low waisted jeans and a cropped t-shirt) OR just the apron. Either way he practically throws himself at Dream when he comes through the door, asking about his day and pouring a nice glass of wine. Hob will rub his shoulders and scold him for being so tense, offering to run a bath and get out the massage oil... but he knows the whole time Dream just wants to fuck him over the kitchen table. Hob just loves teasing him, drawing the evening out and telling him all about the errands he ran and the new dessert he wants Dream to try. Until Dream snaps, grabs him by his waist and pins him up against a kitchen counter. The thing is, Dream never knows if he's coming home to a normal Hob (who is very sexy but also very... normal. He generally waits at least until after dinner to seduce Dream) OR wifey Hob, who absolutely melts Dream’s brain every single time with his sweet smiles and that fucking apron.
Anyway, they almost always end up fucking in the kitchen when Hob is being Dream’s little wife. Dream can't stop himself. He's had to replace to apron at least three times already because he usually ends up tearing it right off Hob’s body <3 he just loves his Hobwife too much hehe.

I’m not sure if you were doing the “tell me what passage, fic, line of narration, or anything you remember me by as a writer” thing but if not… I hope this ask finds you well 😅
I just have to say how much I really love how you write Arthur 🥺 I’ve probably read them all, and they match his vibe so well.
Some examples of my faves~ MC too depressed to get out of bed? That’s one of my go-to comfort fics. Midnight Impulses? Chef’s kiss. Truly rent free.
And so back when you had commissions open, I immeeediately hopped on it… give or take 30 minutes 😅 and I was stoked to have another go-to Arthur comfort fic I could lean on.
There was a moment when I was rereading it that I kinda just “huh… I know it’s ‘Arthur’ saying this but really it’s Scum giving me really solid advice rn as the author” and it broke my brain for a lil while. The same thing happened with Uncomposed Sorrows. It was kinda like a friend giving a word-hug to others who are stressed tf out.
(I may have reread Uncomposed Sorrows earlier today. I may have also gotten a lil emotional about it again. Hard to say.)
But idk, I think your ability to write great comfort fics is pretty rad. It’s a special kind of empathy, and my god does it seem vulnerable (I still haven’t talked myself into posting any). But I can vouch for yours helping me feel better during ~the sads~. I also want to mention that you’re always kind and empathetic, even when it’s just chatting, and that’s also pretty rad.

i don't know if you *want* a behind the scenes for those stories, because I understand that the disconnect of 'this is Arthur saying this' verses 'this is Scum saying this' may sort of strip some of the fun from the stories, so feel free to ignore this part:
for the 'Mc too depressed to get out of bed' fanfic, and Uncomposed Sorrows, both of those were. well, I was depressed! The bed one I was holed up in bed for a few days in an awful depression fit, and then for the other I was very, very, very frustrated at myself for being unable to write. When I get in these moods (thankfully, the first one not happening for a few years), i do try to think of my favorite characters witnessing me in such a state, or. loosely an oc. and consider how they may react and how they would help. In both of those, i imagined Arthur would know the telltale signs of depression, how awful it can get, mixed in with a few other issues. I imagined that he's likely very experienced with both as well, especially since he has ptsd.
Arthur in those served as a voice of reason I needed to hear in those moments, or the voice of distraction- some kinda reminder that things are fine, and so that's what I imagined when I was upset. and I wrote those out usually in the moment to help distract myself, and that may be why they sound very vulnerable! because I was very upset when I wrote those. writing them helped me process the emotions and accept that, well, if it was a fave chara who could relate to what I was goin through telling me these things, then it made it easier to swallow and accept.
In a way, it is also me giving advice, even if it is Arthur saying it, and in a way, it is arthur giving advice I feel like he may try to give in these scenarios.
I think i babbled a lot and made this sound confusing
I am very, very happy that these give you a lot of comfort, and i am happy the comm one does too!! I really wanted them to comfort others, so i am very happy that you're able to reread them again and it helps you feel better.
If you think posting some of your own vent-pieces will help you process whatever it is you're going through, then I encourage it! it's nice to have it written down that our blorbos would comfort us.

2. I think it's funny how Kakeru is able to just piss off Yuki with his antics lmao, but it's also kind of a big moment for Yuki where he isn't pretending to play this "prince" character, Kakeru is able to draw the real Yuki out.

1. Everythinggggggg. From the start from the beginning they were IT. I don't even have like, a SUPER good memory since it's been so long since I've watched Rakugo, but god they really are the definition of soulmates (even if sukeroku doesn't realize it...)
2. I think just their journey together is so compelling, they complete each other and bring out their best but also their worst. Kikuhiko is too in his head at all times, Sukeroku is too impulsive, but the way that they balance each other personality wise and also in their rakugo is so enticing to watch, you can't look away from them. They walked so that other disaster gays could run lmao.
3. Yeah ok let's get into the ending lmao. I will always choose to interpret that Shinnosuke is the spiritual successor to Kikuhiko's and Sukeroku's rakugo not...blood related successor of Kikuhiko lmao. I think that fits the story and the themes and the characters waaaay better than Kikuhiko having Shinnosuke as his biological grandchild 💀 It's nature vs nurture in my eyes! He has the nature of Sukeroku because that's his biological grandfather, but Kikuhiko raised him, it's the nurture side! Why it was left open ended...hmm I think it's supposed to be a stylistic choice to reflect how one unravels a rakugo story? But yeah I refuse the other option for my own sanity lmao. Also also people always ignore/forget about Kikuhiko's struggles with gender expression and I'm sad about that :( so important to his character and his relationships throughout the story.

What are your feelings about Lost Days? Specifically the ending?
Personally I think “I don’t care about the world” doesn’t seem at all accurate to Jason’s actions. Like def unreliable narrator vibes otherwise why is he continually making his life harder.
Also the pit rage thing, people say it’s not canon but def hinted at in LD. I dislike when it’s used to brush aside Jason’s very valid anger but otherwise no strong feelings on it, what about you?
lastly, any takes about Talia and Jason’s relationship? Not the.. ending.. bits.. but other than that? I just don’t think there’s good evidence (doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be interesting to explore in fanfics ofc) that their relationship is white or black. I think Talia’s an immensely complicated person who has to continually make impossible choices in very brutal manners because of the circumstances of who she is and who she loves. As a result, there’s no such thing as ‘good mom’ or ‘bad mom’ Talia. But yeah.
I'll preface this by saying I haven't read lost days in a long while (and actually completely forgot that I had read it one point until I was reading a fic and was like......OH! FAMILIAR!) it's on my reread list, so I remember the broad strokes but not specifics (memory of a goldfish) so I can't comment on the first question rn but I'll keep it in mind on my reread after finals!
as for the pit rage - I have a lot of thoughts:
I think it can be an interesting plot device to diverge from canon - like I think it's interesting when someone has the pit amplify emotions (and therefore make it "pit rage" for Jason because he is angry). I think, in that situation, it can be a cool representation of real life intrusive thoughts and rage.
I have rage issues and trouble controlling my emotions and, sometimes, when I'm really angry, I understand the phrase "seeing red" to a lowkey scary degree. and I like it when fictional universes have magical things that represent real life things. I don't think it takes away from the real life thing, I think it acts as a analogy, making it easier to understand.
does Jason need a magical rage problem to represent his very real rage and anger issues? no. is it maybe helpful/easier to express how angry he is when you can say he's seeing green? yeah.
I like it a lot less when it's used to negate his emotions entirely or explain away his actions. (there's a lot of bad canon writing that has Jason do OOC things, so I'm chill with explaining that stuff away or ignoring it entirely) but when it comes to his return to Gotham and UTRH, I think his autonomy should remain intact. he wasn't lashing out because he was "insane" he was lashing out (and constructing a criminal empire as a teenager lmao) because he was hurt and angry and, maybe, he wanted to watch the world burn, a little bit. he wanted other people to feel the pain he was feeling bc it was unbearable. that's what teenagers are like. (if comics would stop drawing him to look 47, maybe that would come across better)
anyway - like all fanon interpretations and expansions, there are things I like and things I don't and I think it all comes down to interpretation. and I wouldn't ever condemn someone or their writing for interpreting something in a way I disagree with (hell, the more I get back into this fandom and the more comics I read/reread, the more I disagree with some of the Red Hood stuff I have written. that's fine. we're all learning and growing here)
TALIA
she's so precious to me and honestly a big reason I want to reread Lost Days. the poor woman has undergone so much character assassination in canon.
I completely agree that there is no "black and white" interpretation of her. she is complex (even when canon doesn't want her to be). she is a product of her environment, she is rebelling against her upbringing. she loves Damian, she does bad things to him sometimes. she is constantly stuck between a rock and a hard place.
with Jason, I do understand why people say her relationship with him is purely transactional (she does what she does for him for Bruce not Jason) and they're probably right. BUT I really like the interpretation of Talia that cares about him. I like the idea that she did try to restore his mind and train him in order to return him to Bruce, but that she grew attached and came to care about him (maybe/probably not as a mother, but as a mentor and perhaps cool, if emotionally distant, aunt)
I do enjoy fics where people write Talia as caring about Jason like a son, that's fun for me. give him a mom. (I do prefer giving him Selina or Natalia but like, any mom that isn't Sheila will do atp)
(and yeah idk, do what you want, but Talia and Jason fucking didn't happen in My Brain. I read that and went oh, no. lol. and never looked back)

When it comes to x reader fics I’ll be honest with you, I never wrote a single one in the many many years I’ve been writing. I took a very long hiatus from tumblr and writing after the porn ban gutted my friend group on here and Arcane kinda dragged me back to tumblr after I fell in love with it. I wanted to start writing again after devouring Gaybybirth’s entire Viktor library and when I took a look at the landscape of fic writing, x readers were literally all I saw, so I figured what the hell, that’s the popular format now I might as well. I get the appeal of it too; you can more easily slip yourself into the story and enjoy the canon character you want to bang without having to wrestle with someone else’s OC standing between you and your beloved blorbo. I’m not sure it’s the best format for my work but I enjoy it and so far it’s been loads of fun to play with. I’m definitely shifting slowly, moving away from y/n use which tbh feels kind of childish and awkward and interrupts the flow, and more toward first person perspective OC vibes that people can still feel comfortable reading as themselves.
None of that matters though. What matters is how I’m going to be thinking about this sweet, wonderful message for a very long time, and how happy I am that something I made could mean so much to you. “It’s nice to see you smile” … that’s a pretty awesome power, but I think it also belongs to you 🖤🖤🖤🖤

i thought long and hard about this one, and i think i'm going to have to go with the wanderlights!! while technically more supernatural than anything sort of cryptid-related, wanderlights are v similar and sometimes used interchangeably with ghost-lights, ghost orbs, and will o' the wisps!! described as atmospheric lights seen by travelers, they are known to lead travelers off the "safe" path. very much like how your fics are beacons of light that often lead me off the safe path of having a consistent sleep schedule because i stay up late rereading them over and over. to me, they're very beautiful and they remind me so much of the fireflies that i used to play with as a kid and i think that vibes fits you very well: beautiful, fun, and friendly.

There is certainly no shortage of Dracula movies out there for one, both actual attempts at adapting the book and otherwise. As for serious vampire series the only thing that comes to mind rn are some anime/manga. Vampire Hunter D is a light novel series with two anime film adaptations. The newer one, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (2000) is like an all-time favorite animated movie for mine. D is an angsty half-vampire vampire hunter, and it’s also set in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi/fantasy world. Really good mix of more traditional vampire lore with science fiction elements. Vampirism is implied to be the effects of a plague that swept earth as well as like a magical affliction in this.
Trinity Blood is a similar post-apocalyptic hard sci-fi/fantasy mix. Leaning more on the gothic fantasy side. It’s set in a world where we’ve gone back to the Catholic church being the dominate like governing force, so the main character Abel is (again an angsty half-vampire vampire hunter) a funny little priest man. The vampires are like really demon/angel vibes in this, but are also implied to be the result of intermingling with an alien species that humanity fought pre-apocalypse, if I remember correctly. I havn’t read or watched any of this since high school so it might suck now lol
The Hellsing manga/Hellsing Ultimate OVA. An all time fav of mine, but I also havnt reread any since high school so, again, it may suck now lol. This one is more modern than anything traditional fantasy. It’s set in the 90s and centered around Abraham Van Helsing’s (great?) granddaughter, Integra, running a vampire-hunting organization, with thee Dracula now calling himself Alucard (lol) as her weird devoted man-slave. The villains are undead nazis who have come back to take over the world after scientifically achieving vampirism in the pursuit of immortality. So it’s basically like Dracula and his cool lesbian boss fight vampire nazis … with guns. It’s good stupid fun. And Alucard is a really good example of vampire character who is both a gleeful killing machine and a miserable “I regret the loss of my humanity and the fact that I can never die” poor little meow meow type.
And in non-serious and non-anime (lol) there’s also the What We Do in The Shadows TV show which I’ve seen best described as “what if vampires were gay and stupid”, pokes good fun a lot of common vampire media tropes. And the characters are great. The 2014 movie is the same premise, but different characters.
Some other movies I might recommend are Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter (1974) cheesy 70s movie but has some really great exploration of lesser-discussed vampire lore; the main vampire antagonist doesn’t drink blood but drains youth with a kiss, can have their hypnotic power projected back at them with a reflected surface, and causes dead animals to come back to life when passing over them in the ground, etc. It’s also got fantasic sword fighting scenes, and really fun characters. Kronos in particular is definitely supposed to be a mysterious badass type, but he really just comes off as a socially awkward loveable weirdo. He’s super strange and he smokes weed lol. Set in like a mid-19th century fantasy germanic country.
Lost Boys (1987) or Blade (1998) for more edgy modern vampires. Both movies are stupid. Lost Boys is fun for the vamp characters which are southern Californian teenage biker gang members (gay). and Blade is fun because it’s just so bad it’s good, it’s a movie to be watched for laughs, with vampires who are just like goths that go to blood raves and sit around in suits in fancy rooms. Blade himself is also another angsty half-vampire vampire hunter (I’m realizing I’m fond of this type of character lol).
And finally if you’re looking for something more similar to the Dracula novel, I think I can only recommend Le Fanu’s Carmilla. Older and shorter than Dracula and perhaps a little less exciting, but a solid classic in vampire literature (and lesbian literature), and has a lot of its own adaptations ranging from serious to silly as well.

hellooo, it may just be that i was rereading pieces when "night shift" by lucy dacus was playing but it just feels like a heartbreakingly appropriate song for rosalie.
it feels like it captures a lot of the feelings that you conjured up with rose and astarion, especially after their... conversation in your latest chapter. i don't know if it fits the vibe of your wip playlist cuz its more somber but damn, some of the lines fit too well so i wanted to share it with you!
anyways, i already left a comment on the new chapter but i feel the need to add that holy fuck it was wonderful to have some honest communication even under those circumstances, especially since you capture dialogue so well. beautiful job, love!

6. Are there any fics from others you reread all the time?
honestly not many. but there are two that i reread every year. 1) the beating of our hearts is the only sound by heartshapedcandy. it's a fake dating holiday au that i reread every christmas. it's not finished but it still feels so complete to me. it's possibly my favorite bumbleby fic ever and 2) let me see; go tomorrow by patchodraws. that fic is how i became friends with my gf so i reread it every october / halloween season. it's also just a fantastic fic and informs the way i think of coco and velvet so much
8. What project(s) are you currently working on?
i am working (extremely slowly, i should add) on a few things. one is a winter/robyn fic set in vacuo that i am so excited for and have completely outlined but it's just happening very slowly. another is the third chapter of my bumbleby baby driver au since it's been *checks notes* 2 and a half years since i posted the last chapter. chapter 3 is just my baby so it's been a process i wanna get it right. and then i'm also kind of writing an original thing rn but it is mostly just vibes and the plot is still fuzzy to me but the amount of notes app writing for it is probably enough to diagnose me with female hysteria
