Okay, I know this show ended almost 4 years ago, but...
I have a theory about the First Order spy in Star Wars Resistance, but it would only make sense if you've read the Poe Dameron comics. In those comics, while Poe looked for Lor San Tekka, he made his own real enemy: Agent Terex of the First Order Security Bureau. Long story short: Poe humiliated Terex, outsmarted him, and ruined his life. Venisa Doza also mentioned escaping Terex, which only added fuel for the theory.
Now for the theory itself:
Venisa made Terex look bad to the FO. Then soon after was Poe's turn. Terex wanted revenge on both Venisa and Poe. After Poe rescued LST from being stranded out in space, Terex planted false evidence that there was a spy on the Colossus. He also leaked the info to the FO, which is why Vonreg attacked Kaz and his friends in the premiere. Terex figured the Resistance would send someone to the Colossus and found out Kaz had been sent there. The pirates were patsies/pawns. He set the pirates up on that freighter in Sector Six.
Terex thought if the Resistance suspects Doza, then it would cause a strain on his marriage to Venisa. It would also make Poe and both Dozas look bad.
TL:DR. Poe's old enemy (who is also Venisa's old enemy) planted false evidence that there was a spy on the Colossus to make both Poe and Venisa look bad and used the pirates as patsies.
Actually, that kind of reminds me of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Janet Van Dyrne made an enemy of Kang the Conqueror, Scott is dragged into that drama and is also Kang's enemy. Also also, Kang's variant Rama-Tut is also enemy to Khonshu, and Khonshu's avatar, Marc Spector is played by the same actor who plays Poe.
Venisa makes an enemy of Terex, so if Terex comes after Venisa for revenge, Kaz will undoubtedly be dragged into it (especially once Terex finds out Poe recruited him).
So, basically, it'd be a cross between Quantumania (a woman who returned to her family after being gone a long time and in the meantime making an enemy who came back for revenge and a goofy character gets dragged into this mess) and Spider-Man: Far From Home where a kid hero deals with his mentor's enemy (Kaz, Poe).
...Well, Disney/Lucasfilm did want to be like Marvel, so... (shrug)

This is the third and probably last in this series (apart from some follow-ups and smaller groups that may appear in due course), marking the feast of the Immaculate Conception of Our Blessed Lady with another lot of amazing female/feminine-programmed characters from a galaxy far, far away.
[Design notes: all traced either from Googled pictures (Rey, Rose, Kaydel, Maz, Zorii, Jannah, Torra, Freya and CB-23) or screenshots with Googled pictures or close-up screenshots used to get the faces vaguely right (everyone else, apart from Paige, for whom I had to splice two different shots together, hence the weird proportions). Colour strangeness can be blamed on the lighting of the original shots; I don't know how to compensate for that yet.]

This prompt is based before Torra's Gift
It had been three days since Torra lost her own fluffy friend who had been there to fill her loneliness since she was a young teenager, her beloved voorprak pet, Buggles.
Buggles passed away because he was very ill. Torra was so worried and devastated seeing him that way. She had been cuddling Buggles for hours until one of the veterinarians told the bad news that he was gone.
Torra couldn't believe this would happen.
Venisa checked at the master room, seeing her daughter crying as laying down on the bed. She sat down on the bed anf rubbing her back until Torra stared at her.
"Mom ? I'm really sorry I don't know why I'm crying. "
"Shh... There's nothing to sorry for. I know what you've been thinking to."
She immediately gave her mother a hug as Venisa rubbed her hair "It's gonna be alright, wingmate. I know how much he means to you."
"Buggles is a part of my family, mom. He was a great partner and always be there whenever I need to." She expressed her sadness.
Venisa rubbed her daughter's back "He is, Torra but he also don't wanna see you sad, he wants you to be happy with this family that we have."
She wiped Torra's tears "You still have Kazuda, Ayumi, your father, me, and anyone else who deeply care and love you very much."
Torra took breath "Thank you, mom. I'm really needed that."
"Anytime, wingmate." Venisa kissed on her forehead.
"Come on, let's have lunch. Everyone have been waiting for you." She put her arm around Torra's shoulder as taking her out from the master room.

Ahhh skybridger 5 times pls?
quick summary: this is a companion fic to it's a gift to be truly known since I thought it'd be a fun exercise. that fic is "5 times ezra knew someone before luke + 1 time he didn't" and this one is going to be something like "5 times someone had a crush on luke + 1 time they didn't" this excerpt is the start of one of the times.
also thank you for unwittingly giving me an opportunity to push my "hera (and ezra) should get to mentor young venisa doza (pre-doza)" agenda! and uh sorry that it's maybe not the most skybridger-y of moments
When he enters the hangar, Ezra takes stock of the ships; some are still smoking or ripped apart, but every one is there. Most importantly, Luke's is there, along with Luke himself.
He's standing by his X-wing, frowning and gesturing widely to an unimpressed mechanic. It makes Ezra smile, fills him with relief; of course Luke would be arguing over repairs or improvements barely half an hour after returning from a mission. Of course he made it back okay.
Ezra's about to go drag him away for the good of everyone involved when he spots someone familiar, not far off and clearly ogling Luke. Venisa.
And, look—Ezra hadn't planned to be the unofficial ambassador for young rebellion fighters, or whatever it is he's unofficially become. It's not like he's the only person who's grown up in the rebellion and he'd argue he's definitely not the most well-adjusted or the best at giving advice. But somewhere along the way, commanders started asking him to talk to their young recruits when they struggled with losing someone or a first battle gone wrong. And, as much as he complained at first, Hera only encouraged it. (People like you, Ezra, she said with a smile. Deal with it.)
That's how Ezra knows Venisa; her squadron leader sent her Ezra's way after a few reckless missions and he couldn’t help but like her. She's sharp, a hell of a pilot, and fearless—even if she is still young and naive enough to think Ezra knows what he's doing.
He should leave her be, but… the way she’s looking at Luke…. Maybe it's because she's one of his little baby rebel Loth-ducklings and he feels responsible for her, or maybe it's because he knows very well what it's like to be a teenager with an impossible crush. Either way, he doesn't leave.
"Hey."
Venisa jumps as he sidles up beside her. She's tucked against a fighter that's not hers, mostly hidden from the other side of the hangar.
"Oh, Ezra, hi." She sounds flustered, like she knows she's been caught staring.
Ezra glances to where Luke is still oblivious to anything but his X-wing. He has his flight suit half off, the tank top underneath tight to his chest and leaving his arms bare. Even sweaty and streaked with grease, he looks handsome—maybe more so, if you like brave, dashing pilots. So, yeah, Ezra can understand the ogling. It's a nice view.
"You know Luke?" He asks casually.
Venisa nods. "He's led my squadron a few times. He's an amazing commander."
Ezra sees the admiration in her eyes. In another circumstance, he could flatter Luke all day—he admires Luke too, from his strength to his kindness to his sense of humor. But that's not exactly helpful now.
"You should see him during our training sessions—I kicked his ass yesterday," he says instead, maybe taking a little joy in the surprised look on Venisa's face.
"You did?" She gives him a skeptical look.
Ezra plays up his offense, trying his best not to grin. "I'll have you know I'm a big deal.”
Venisa rolls her eyes. (Which he appreciates, honestly—he prefers when the new kids stop being in undeserved awe of him.) "Well, I heard he fought Darth Vader," she persists, voice quiet as if Luke will hear them across the room.
"So?" Ezra feigns nonchalance, as if that name doesn’t make him shudder. "I fought him twice. It's basically a Jedi rite of passage."
Sure, he's leaving out the part where he almost died and only survived because of the much more experienced Force users saving him. But that's not really lying.
Venisa eyes him with consideration. "You really fought Vader?"
Ezra nods. "Wouldn't recommend it," he says, and he can almost feel the cold creeping in with the memory. "My point is, Luke's just a guy, like anyone else. There's no reason to idolize him."
"I don't idolize him." Venisa scowls, but Ezra can see she's flustered at being called out.
"A lot of people do," Ezra says kindly. "But—"
"But what? You're trying to protect me?" She asks, arms crossed and unamused.
Honestly, Ezra's not entirely sure. Venisa certainly doesn't need protecting—not from Luke, who would surely only let her down awkwardly and gently. Maybe it's the rejection he wants to save her from. Or the wasted time.
"I guess I'm trying to be a good friend," he says with a hint of a smile. "I know what it's like to have a crush on someone who doesn't look at you the same way."
Venisa hums. Her expression changes slightly, softened and vulnerable. "I know he'd never…" Her gaze flicks to Luke and a flush spreads on her cheeks. "But he's nice and hot and he flies better than anyone."
Ezra wraps an arm around her shoulder, pulling her into a side hug. He does his very best to not laugh at her dramatic sigh and reminds himself that not long ago he was seventeen, even if six years feels like eons.
"You'll find someone else. Someone more age appropriate." He laughs when she groans at him. "Hey, you call me ancient! He's as old as I am."
"I call you ancient because you start every story with when I was your age," Venisa mocks, a grin on her face.
Ezra grins back. "Well, when I was your age, I showed my elders more respect."
"Doubt it," Venisa laughs, pushing out from under his arm.

As I begin work on making the bracket for the Star Wars Pilots Tournament, there are unfortunately many characters that will not make it into the showdown. These characters were submitted very late in the game and/or only got one submission each, so they are sadly not eligible.

Submitted propaganda: Rebellion pilot who fought in the Battle of Jakku! Became a racer after the Empire fell but quit after his brother cheating in a race led to an explosion that killed his family. Moved to an out of the way fueling station and decided to run a mechanic's shop instead of piloting. He's drawn back into flying by Kaz when the First Order rises, and becomes a squadron leader/teacher for the next generation of pilots.
7. Venisa Doza (Star Wars Resistance)
Submitted propaganda: Badass Rebellion pilot who convinced her future husband to defect from the Empire! When the First Order started to rise she immediately joined the Resistance to fight them. Awesome pilot and really good at convincing Imperials/First Order people to defect.

9. Ooryl Qrygg (Rogue Squadron)
Submitted propaganda: Ooryl is unique in what his contributions mean to his people. There are very few Gand in the Lore but Ooryl qualifies for Rogue Squadron, the best pilots of the New Republic. He also arcs to earn the right to use "I" pronouns, which is extended only to Gand who are famous enough to be known to literally every Gand that exists.

Submitted propaganda: 15 year old racing pilot! Learned how to fly from her mom. Super good at flying and clearly has a lot of fun flying also.
18. Hype Fazon (Star Wars Resistance)
Submitted propaganda: Super good race pilot who has to adjust to being a combat pilot when the First Order rises. Has a tendency to run from things that frighten him at first (the First Order, added responsibility, growth) but always comes back at the end. Also is delightfully cocky about his piloting skills.
19. Isabella Garcia-Shapiro / "Pilot Isabella" (Phineas and Ferb/Star Wars crossover)

I wanna ask you something @fulltimecatwitch. What's your 5 (five) fave sw resistance characters and why ?
i love this question !!! although it is hard to chose just five because i love them all 😭 but here is my top 5 :
1. Kazuda Xiono
obviously Kaz is number one for many reasons but one the things instantly drew me to his character was that he is very different from the usual star wars protagonists. He is not a jedi, he doesn't have any special powers, he's had to work and train hard to become a good pilot, a mechanic, a spy. He also comes from the core world and grew up wealthy and privileged yet he joins the resistance the first chance he gest because he wants to fight for his home which to me speaks of someone who is kind, brave and compassionate at heart ( as we see many times ) i could go on and on about why i love Kaz but i would need another whole post so i will stop here for now 😅
2. Tam Ryvora
i love Tam's character because her whole journey is so interesting to me.
She was a great way to show how class inequality affects your view of the world and this case the First Order. Where Kaz grew up in a privileged household at the centre of the galaxy, Tam grew up with no resources or support at that very same centre so of course it makes sense that she sees the First Order as something good. I also love that although she might appear tough on the outside she really cares about her friends and family, she just has a different way of expresing it.
3. Synara San
What can i say ? i love badass women and Synara is such a badass !! i love how she starts as a ruthless pirate but she slowly starts to change and warm up to everyone on the Colossus to the point that she convices Kragan to help defeat the pirates in season one. What i like the most about her is her loyalty to the people she cares about and I am so intrigued by her past and how did she end up in Kragan's crew, i wish we had learned more about that.
4. Captain Doza
another character that intrigues so much !! the first season i truly though that Captain Doza was evil but i was so surprised after learning more about his past and that he was married to Venisa. I really like him because he bears such a great responsibility not just as the captain of the colossus but also as Torra's father and yet he always manages to keep a cool, clear head. I also like how we see him go from avoiding conflict to convincing everyone on the Colossus to fight the First Order and i'd love to maybe see a young captain Doza in another SW series.
5. Norath Kev
Norath may be more of a side character but he is definitely a great one! I like that he and Kaz make a great team together since they are both a bit clumsy but great at improvising and they are both amazing pilots! I wish we could have seen more of them working together and also learn how he ended up with the resistance
it was definitely hard to choose just five 😅 may i also ask who are your favorite five characters and why ?

3 for the Star Wars ask game!
Off the top of my head, The Mandalorian's "Chapter 8: Redemption" (Moff Gideon's monologue? *chef's kiss*), Star Wars Resistance's "Rendezvous Point" (Venisa Doza. Torch. TAM RYVORA.), and literally all of Star Wars Rebels but especially "Trials of the Darksaber"/"Legacy of Mandalore" (because catharsis, and Mandalorians), and "Family Reunion and Farewell" (because there's nothing like an epic ending that's also a beginning).
Yes. I'm fully aware that's more than one episode, and no, I do not care. They're all my favorite for different reasons. :)
Least favorite?
Probably either the prisoner episode from Mando S1 (hate, hate, hate the look of the Twi'leks and the way they were portrayed) or The Book Of Boba Fett Chapters 6/7 (Yes, those are some of the "good", Mando episodes, but it stole a lot of moments that I think would've been better elsewhere).

Kaz and Yeager Moments part 5
This might be spoilers for anyone else who hasn't watch this series yet. I have been re-read my old notebooks, there are some my favorite moments with these two so I decided to write these here.
Yeager notices something's wrong with Kaz because he know Kaz like flying and racing since the beginning. This time, Kaz just watching the race.
Kaz tells Yeager that he can't sit the fight, he decides to leave the Colossus which Yeager is shocked then put a sad face on his face.
Before Kaz leave, Yeager speaks with Kaz alone and give him the fireball. Kaz is surprised and grateful and use the ship to meet up with the resistance.
Yeager tells Kaz if he take care good of the fireball, it will good to him and Kaz knows how much it means to him.
Kaz and Yeager shaking hands then Yeager pulls Kaz to hug and say goodbye, Kaz is surprised at first then hugs him back. Yeager warns Kaz to take care of the Fireball and watch himself out there.
Yeager tells Kaz that he has changed a lot since he first time got in Colossus with Poe, he says that he was not an awkward kid and he's proud of him.
Look at them, deep down, they really miss each other 🥺
When Kaz is in a hot water after he destroyed a probe droid who sent information to the first order to attack the colossus, he's imitating like Yeager to fix the fireball on the space, on his own.
As the first order attacking the colossus, even Yeager isn't pleased because what had Kaz done with the fireball, he lets him borrow his personal ship to join with the ace to help.
After the colossus escaped from Aoes Prime, Kaz has a chat with Yeager about Tam. Kaz tells Yeager that she was the one who was going to attack him but she saved the first order star destroyer instead. Yeager knows how much Kaz care about her but they had to do this sama way if it was really happening.
The way Yeager introduces Kaz to his old friend, Venisa with put his arm around Kaz's shoulder like he's really proud to have him as his own son.
Yeager is pleased to see how much Kaz grown with his mechanic skills so he offers help to repair the fireball and Kaz says "Sure Yeager, it'll be just old times." As he gives a tool to Yeager.
When Kaz got a message from Tam with Neeku's code and Neeku translates it, Yeager listen their conversation carefully as Kaz figuring out that Tam wants out to leave the first order and meet her on Castilon.
Yeager warns Kaz that it could be a trap from the first order and Kaz agrees with him.
Even it's a big risk, Kaz would do anything to get Tam back home. Yeager doesn't let him go alone and he knows Kaz have a faith on her so he also joins the mission with him. Even they convicing Captain Doza to let them get Tam back.
Kaz and Yeager share each other memories on Castilon as waiting for Tam. Yeager also tells Kaz about how Tam ended up living with him and Neeku before Kaz showed up.
Kaz asks Yeager why he didn't give Tam the fireball, Yeager tells him that Tam would race somewhere else if he did it and he didn't want to lose her.
Kaz really sure that tie attacking another tie is Tam which Yeager asks him if he sure about it. Kaz tells Yeager who else would do that.
When Yeager and Tam are about out of control, Kaz is able to stop them saying "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, come on, you two. We-we don't have time for this. Let's go home and then you guys can argue all you want."
When Kaz and Tam feel down about the colossus is going to be in danger, Yeager cheering them up to figure out to warn the citizen.
As Kaz took Commander Pyre down and made sure CB-23 is gonna be alright, he hears Yeager calling and staring to Yeager and Tam, focusing to get out from the star destroyer as the way Kaz passing CB-23 to Yeager.
When Yeager tells Tam that she was brave to face and fought aganist the first order, Kaz claims that he also brave. Yeager just shakes his head and smile while Tam telling Kaz that he always has be brave.
Kaz and Yeager really pleased to get Tam back having a complete team fireball members as a family.
