Random Character Headcanons... perhaps?

Evie- has stolen too many of Knight's clothes for them to keep track and they basically share a wardrobe now. She most definitely has freckles...

Beth- Both Seer and Beth definitely just unironically call each other "Bro". Definitely has or had some kind of Jean jacket phase. Taps her foot impatiently tm

Chloe- Both her and her partner definitely platonically flirted for a while before getting together

Ro- Has said its not a phase unironically and would be dying their hair every couple months. (Has gone through most of the rainbow by now) Bright blue converse high tops constantly (someone tell me they don't wear them religiously)

Celine- Has on occasion just scooped Knight and or her wife into her arms sometimes for the fun of it and sometimes with actual reason, but also most definitely has that motherly instinct even from miles away. Smuggest smirk you have ever seen. Paces when she's upset.

Rose- Poor girl is definitely almost always thinking about the interaction with Claire when. Has had the opportunity many times to be smooth with Dear or Abigail but rarely acted on it.

Celine's Wife: An actual stand-up comedian at one point, smug smirk 2.0. (I am so excited to see their dynamic)

Doll- Them and Isaiah would have been best friends. Definitely could have. Has cute lil stones and knickknacks around their first apartment that they loved to collect but had to leave them behind.

Abigail- Keeps bugging Dear/Bud to play dnd with her and will continue to do so. Has many beauty marks all over her

Claire- Has peekaboo blonde dye underneath her natural hair color of brown probably. Hair is either a should length bob or a in a bun consistently. Part of me thinks she'd cut it really short after this whole flare up...

Knight- Has been planning how they'd propose to evie since they started dating. Has been unofficially adopted by library trio.

Well, anon..... You asked

So I might've ended up concocting an entire storyline just because of a throwaway bit of joking with my friend, but what can you do??? So I imagine that in a modern setting the omen twins wouldn't end up getting shunned like in canon (because in modern days imprisoning people in the sewers is generally frowned upon, big surprise lmao), but they'd still be in quite the shitty situation. I haven't exactly thought in details about the worldbuilding, there's prob a bit of magic realism going on in this brave new AU, but any case they still be rocking those horns because. C'mon. They wouldn't be the same without. And while Omens might not be as openly and violently reviled as they are in canon they are probably still looked upon with suspicion and distrust. I can imagine the family situation is a mess. Perhaps in this AU Marika is the matriarch of a rich/powerful family and thus there are certain Expectations(tm) thrusted onto the unsuspecting offspring born in said family. Morgott, ever so desperate to gain the love and approval that has been denied to him since birth, would prob readily sacrifice himself in trying to grasp what he so desperately want, and Mohg... Not so much. (There's also a bit of Fun Gender Fuckery going on because I a 100% unironically headcanon canon Morgott as trans and this is also present in the AU, so he'd prob try to deny his true self and to conform to the gender he's been assigned at birth -but not forever-) Even tho they grew up super close, were best friends and each other's only confidant etc., during their teen years they slowly end up growing apart because Mohg can't stand how subjugated and servile his twin is to the whims of their family, and viceversa Morgott is unnerved by Mohg's increasingly more rebel attitude and his constant sneering "No"s whenever he's asked (ordered, really) to do anything he does not like. They end up having a very ugly fight when on the days before their upcoming 18th birthday Mohg, in a desperate last ditch attempt to save his brother from the grasp of their oppressive family, tells him he intends to escape the moment he is a legal adult, and tries to convince Morgott to come with. So things get broken between them. Mohg follows through with his plan and he's gone pretty much the morning of their 18th birthday, whereas Morgott stays behind, even if it kills him a bit inside to be apart from his twin.

Now Mohg is out there in the world barely a legal adult, broke and not really knowing how to survive because of how oppressively sheltered their upbringing was, and he ends up falling for the lure of the cult of the Formless Mother (who is a real human person I suppose lol), whereas Morgott still tries for a bit to be accepted, approved and loved by his mother... But at some point, finally accepting the knowledge that it will never happen, Morgott also ends up leaving the family and building for himself a quiet, modest and unassuming life somewhere else. (His only contact with any blood relations ends up being his half-sister Nepheli, who is actually a pretty cool young woman who sometimes visits him, bringing baked goods and telling him about her life in college. He finds said visits pleasant, even if he only gets half of what she says because he doesn’t understand the slang of ‘the youth’ but he’s only like, 37 or something lol) But he’s not happy. Sure, now he’s finally accepted himself as is, and is living his own life as he sees fit, but not a day goes by without him feeling Mohg’s absence like a live wound in his heart. He feels so guilty for taking so long to finally realize his twin had been right all along, and for not going with Mohg so many years prior. Feels like an idiot for wasting so much time before truly living as his true self, and feeling like not even knowing where Mohg is, if he’s alive and well, is a punishment for his own idiocy.

He’d probably has some kind of quote unquote “lame” old man job that allows him to be on his own. There’s people in his life that actually care for him and consider him a friend (like Nepheli and his biker gang), but Morgott is blinded by self-hatred he still carries and while he is courteous to them, he doesn’t think they are his friends because he unconsciously thinks himself unworthy of friends and affection. Let’s just say that he has a lot of unpack, and emotionally speaking he has a lot of growing up to do, still.

Mohg on his part initially feels at home in the cult. Finally, a place accepting of him as he is! Where he is given love unconditionally and where he can be who he is! But that’s only at the start, of course. He gets lured in by these sweet promises, and everything is all fine and dandy for a while. He has friends, he has a mother figure who watches upon him with benevolence, he’s not forced to do anything he doesn’t want to do... But then slowly things change. He starts to get asked to do things. But it’s fine, right? He’s been given so much, it’s only right that he also gives back. And he gets lured in deeper, warped and molded into something his younger self would’ve been horrified by. But it happens so slowly he doesn’t really realize it, and by the time this new him fully emerges he’s in too deep to even realize what is going on, and he think he is happy, now, being a higher figure in the cult, someone people goes to when they need help. He feels like he’s being the person he so desperately needed when he ran away from home, that he’s helping the same way he’s been helped at his lowest, and isn’t that fantastic?

But of course it isn’t because cult. Cults are generally not a good place to be. He probably ends involved in stuff that’s outright illegal.

(Also there are those nights when he just can’t sleep and stares at the ceiling, doubts nipping his mind, like a constant disquiet feeling of something being wrong, and yet he’s entirely unable to pin-point what it is. And as precise as clock those nights his mind can’t help but wander away, toward that little pain he always carries in his chest, and pretends he does not. Those nights find him wondering where his twin is, and if he’s ok. Is he happy? Does he miss Mohg as much as Mohg misses him? But then he promptly shuffles away those thoughts, pushes them deep down, and goes back to pretending everything is just fine.) So for years the two of them live their lives apart, not having any clue where the other is, zero contact whatsoever. That is until an unsuspecting morning like any other Morgott is getting ready for work with the morning news going on in the background and he just so happen to glance at the screen while the busting of an underground cult is being talked about, and how the head of said cult + the most important figures working in it got arrested.

And what does he sees if not his own twin in cuffs, looking lost of confused, being dragged away by the cops. And for the first time in his life Morgott calls a day off work, jumps on his bike (biker gang boss ftw lol) and immediately books it for the city where Mohg has been arrested. He can’t even think, he doesn’t have a plan or anything, all he knows is that Mohg needs his help now. Considering he probably lives a very modest, frugal life he has a good chunk of money put away, so when he has to pay bail to get Mohg out of his cell (and later get him a lawyer lmao) he pays without even thinking twice about it.

When Mohg gets guided out by very disgruntled police agents he genuinely has no clue who could possibly have paid to get him out... But then he sees Morgott and everything makes sense. Of course. And that’s how after what is probably decades, the last words they even spoke to one another being insults and recriminations, the two end up living together in Morgott’s tiny apartment; having to re-learn how to be with one another, having to really get to know each other because they are such different people, now.

Having to re-learn how to be a person who exist outside of the insular community of his cult, for Mohg, and just having to learn to finally stop stifling his feelings and to fully accept himself, and subsequently the fact that people care for him unconditionally, now, for Morgott-- But together, with that link to one another that they’ve always kept close to their hearts like an incorporeal treasure, I’m sure they’ll climb above those obstacles ; D (also there be court room drama because now Mohg has to go on trial lmao. Adding spiciness to the AU) (I thought about this way too much kfjhgkfdh)

Favorite ship

I actually think Miu/Saki is extremely cute as an idea. I spent a lot of time thinking about their relationship back when I wrote Not My Problem, and there's a lot of potential there that the structure of the game itself doesn't really allow to get explored. They kind of both have the same deal going on emotionally, not feeling like they have a place in their communities and lacking independence, and yet outwardly they have entirely opposite vibes (always a fun dynamic). They never really talk about their feelings with each other, so you'd think they wouldn't get along because of those opposite vibes, yet they seem to really enjoy each other's company from what little we see in the prologue and a few Free Action conversations where they both talk about how the other seems like they'd be cool to be friends with.

I liked writing their relationship, and I can totally see how it would work as a romantic thing as well.

Least favorite ship

I don't really see Miu get shipped with anybody all that often, but there was a bit of unironic Kaito/Miu posting on Twitter back when the game first came out, and even as far as incest ships go that's the most cursed shit I've ever seen in my life lol

She got really into reading about marine biology in the year between Moral ending and reuniting Syakomon. Nothing too technical, just like checking out big books of fun facts about shellfish from the library.

k so, the bakery was literally just her mum's favourite!! and i believe poppy mentioned that they did classes there too and bc her mum loooved their stuff and she also loved baking (n cooking she was literal like the perfect home maker anyway) she took poppy along when she was old enough and it kind of became their thing!! and then poppy got a weekend job there too, even tho she didn't really need one mainly after her mum died bc she hated being at home and hated being around her brother and dad plus it was a way to help her feel closer to her mum!! oh h's everyday shoes 🤔 that is such a GOOD question its literal a rat but for some reason i imagine he would be a boot guy, but they'd probably be that nasty ass pair of dark brown suede boots that rl h used to wear a lot, and they'd be so beat up and yuck bc flower h does know not or care or realise that you have to look after suede and not get it wet lmaooo omg could you IMAGINE flower h as a prepper bc honestly? i can and like he would be soooo funny bc he hasn't had a logical thought in his entire life and yet he's worrying abt the end of the world and has all these plans in case him n poppy aren't together and how to get across london to each other and where to meet etc, also i think he unironically LOVES bear grylls and all of his stupid survivor shows and yes he loves camping which blows poppy's mind bc she's like...this man loves camping? Should Kurt have been with Karofsky, Adam, Sam Blaine, Sebastian or Chandler? Which is the most interesting relationship? Which is the healthiest?

Ooh, interesting.

See, Sebastian interests me because the impression I get is that if you watched Glee at the time, the Warblers just have a whole subculture? Sebastian feels like such a minor character to me, the equivalent of let's say an S6 newbie or Sunshine, and yet he has a huge presence that feels more down to fandom than, like, anything in the show.

So with my usual 'I am weird and engage with Glee incorrectly' disclaimer noted, let's go! Overanalysis!

Karofsky - Romantically, no, honestly. I love the idea of them having a more solid friendship, especially with their past, but honestly I find that friendship stronger than a romance? Like, they definitely feel like they have different wants in a romantic relationship, so I don't know if they'd necessarily be compatible, but I like their dynamic.

Adam - Okay yes the rights issues with the song are gross, but also. look, guy sees a cute twink, invites him to watch his show choir, and attempts to seduce him via acoustic "I like big butts." It's a crime he's not more recognised that is just pure Glee right there. I do have a soft spot for his arc tbh, so much of S4 definitely felt rushed and like it didn't have the time it needed, but that vibe of the NYADA equivalent of Glee Club being something Rachel was paranoid of, there's some fun stuff there. Navigating adult life was always one of the interesting things to see, and I can see the draw. (Then again I also like Brody so I might just be wrong about S4 relationships)

Sam - Huh, I never really thought about them, outside of the very start? If what I heard about Sam originally being intended to be gay is right, I could see something interesting developing way back then. Maybe being more open at his last school, and needing to find new friends at McKinley. That angle I like, but I don’t necessarily know that I see Kurt with Sam after he got more fleshing out. Unless we go poly with Blam anyway.

Blaine - Who’d ship Kurt and Blaine? Weird. Okay, seriously. I answered an ask on Blaine a while back, but the short version is, yeah, they have great chemistry and help push one another which is kinda what you want from a relationship. Blaine presenting himself as more put-together than he is, Kurt getting to know him, and them figuring everything out. Obviously, great stuff.

Sebastian - As above, I wouldn't have called Sebastian as, like, in the running? I could see it, but that's with the caveat that part of what I like with Sebastian is his development, the "It's funny until it's real," which is. so much of Glee in a nutshell. I think pairing Kurt with someone who's more of a cynic could make for something interesting.

Chandler - ...unironically thought they were cute that episode whoops. Like, clearly just Kurt unused to meeting other queer people, but was sweet, if. Kurt baby no.

So, all in all:

Healthiest - are people going to be made if I say Adam? Like, no slight on any of the other ships, but it was generally a pretty healthy, comforting relationship. Adam wanted Kurt to find something he liked, Kurt seemed to find him fun, and it gave Kurt something solid in New York to lean on. Compare to say, Klaine, they have way more friction because Blaine can be a bit of a hopeless romantic and sometimes sees things differently to Kurt, while Adam and Kurt seemed to generally be on the same page. Which, Klaine is just how relationships can be, it’s something people have to work through. But as far as Kurt and Adam go, it’s... simpler, and sweet. I’d liken them to Sam and Rachel (...which feels like another controversial opinion but hey), they’re cosy, if maybe not the stuff of epic love stories.

Most interesting - huh. I'm tempted to say Kurt/Sebastian despite barely thinking about them before making this post. They definitely seem like they'd play off each other well. Plus, realistically, non-canon ships are always going to be more interesting than canon ones because there’s so much more ‘What if?’ Kurt seems to be someone that has a paranoid streak himself, so pairing him with someone that can be as cutting as Sebastian would make for a new angle. (Plus Kurt/Warbler means you get the scene of the Warbler having abysmal fashion sense because they’re used to only ever wearing blazers)

Should have been with - Chandler I mean, gotta say Klaine. Maybe they have friction sometimes, but that’s just what happens in good stories, and where development comes from. The fact they don’t stay the same, the fact they’re comfortable enough to be completely open with each other in order to find the points where they clash, and they have the willingness to try and grow. They complement one another so damn well, even if they never quite seem to be what the other expected. Like, comparing to the above - Adam is cosy, but the storyline with him has nothing to do with the romance. And Sebastian, post-development sees him turn into Blaine anyway, and pre-development needs to go through a heck of a lot before I can see him and Kurt being in the same room without attempted murder. As far as ships that feel like they have a shot of being endgame - ones where, if a show ended on them together, I wouldn’t be sat around with the feeling that it wasn’t enough of a journey, or it didn’t feel like it would last - Klaine win out.

The cocky street-smart city boy from New York City, and the cocky street-smart country girl from the heart of Texas, who both got pulled into the whole Xiaolin business as outsiders at first and temporarily teamed up with a Heylin villain but ultimately have someone they love at the Xiaolin temple.

They almost wouldn't know what to make of each other at first.

She'd call him soft since he's from the big city. He'd prove himself with that classic flair of his, and she'd admit with a begrudging tone and half a smirk that she'd misjudged him, and he'd return the backhanded compliment.

I could see it kicking up a rivalry of sorts that becomes more and more friendly, the sort of thing where they compete over who can do the flashiest moves or beat the most enemies, until suddenly they're just having a blast and unironically complimenting each other and admiring each other's skill. They have personalities and strengths that would really get along with each other well after the initial bumps in the road.

Jessie would say that she's gotta show Jermaine around her hometown sometime, and Jermaine says that he thinks Jessie would appreciate the sights in New York more.

Even without any official powers, they would be the cocky power couple that's always competing against each other and making each other smirk and laugh. And they'd be really entertaining to watch.

Plus, I bet Omi would be super happy to see them become good friends.

And Clay would definitely appreciate his sister having a good influence, and he knows he can trust Jermaine for that.

who hogs the duvet: phoenix hogs it when theyre going to sleep bc edgeworth takes forever to fall asleep & remains very aware of his share of the blankets. and then when they wake up edgeworth has ALL the blankets & phoenix has none.

who texts/rings to check how their day is going: both, constantly. edgeworth once faked his death and disappeared for a year. phoenix once fell 70 feet off a burning rope bridge into a frozen river. they are always worrying about each other. will text to check in while in different rooms of the same building.

who has the most embarrassing taste in music: phoenix's playlists are specially curated for maximum cringe. he has different options depending on who he's trying to bother. as far as his genuine taste, it's literally fine. but edgeworth unironically and very secretly LOVES the soundtrack to the pink samurai musical.

who collects something unusual: edgeworth canonically collects silver samurai stuff i think? but also they both have weird shit that the kids give them. kay's made a game out of stealing the weirdest little trinkets to pass on to edgeworth

who suggests that they buy a pet: phoenix is a "we should get a puppy" person. edgeworth reminds him that they already have a dog once a week.

what couple traditions they have: they celebrate the anniversaries of important cases. sometimes phoenix will make up a case anniversary to get edgeworth to buy him dinner. edgeworth knows, of course.

what tv shows they watch together: canonically, all those samurai shows that miles likes. i also think they'd like survivor. and actually phoenix adopted a 7 year old in 2019. this is a bluey household

Hi Queenie, wow these are fun choices!

L/Aiber

I don't particularly have many thoughts about this one. As friends, it's interesting, and I can see them getting involved with each other romantically...I ship it, but in a mildly regretful one-night stand between pals kind of way. Not something I can imagine in canon, but it's entertaining to think about.

Light/Namikawa

Oh my God, I love them so much, this is one of those rarepairs that genuinely clicked to me while watching the anime. They didn't have much screentime together, but I loved the aesthetic and I can't help but imagine how would Namikawa have reacted if he had the chance to find out that Light is Kira. Does anyone else remember that scene where Namikawa was able to trick Light into admitting that Higuchi is Kira? Well, I remember, and I was in awe.

There are certainly not many fics out there with them, but what we have is quality and I'm planning to write something with them too. (To summarize, I just love Reiji so much, I won't apologize.😇)

Misa/Mikami

I used to ship them because I thought they would be disastrous if they'd meet. It started as a joke ship for me, but then, well, you can guess what happened. After I read a drabble with them (you can check it out here!), it made me realize the reasons someone would be into this pairing unironically. I'm still not very invested in it, but I have a lot of feelings about them. My interpretation of their relationship can depend on my mood which just provides a lot of fun.

12) Favourite final map? ashen wolves!!! i fucking LOVED the final map. it was the only map in the dlc i absolutely stormed, to the point i beat monster-mum before she used her special ability lmao, i was so confused as to why my brother got so frustrated!! i went back and did it a couple more times to play it properly and i had SO much fun playing that map!! it was my kind of challenge!! also Thematically, the whole retroactive foreshadowing for the ends of the other routes with the whole body-horror-monster-autonomy-free-will-devotion-dragon-mum-in-a-church-and-we-killed-her-with-other-thematic-buzzwords content. Now That's my kind of story. i fucking Loved ashen wolves, it might get the edge for my favourite route overall!!

13) Favourite song in the soundtrack? Oh it simply must be Colour of Sunrise. it's absolutely colour of sunrise. i love that track completely unironically, it's just marvellous on every single level to me. not only for the Fire Emblem Emotions it instills in me, but i'd also probably listen to it if it was on spotify. honerable mentions go to; Chasing Daybreak (rain) for the emotional decimation it wrought upon my ears when the timeskip turned all my little students into hardened war criminals; A Promise bc it, again, heavily tied to my favourite moments of the game; Broken Routine because i didn't expect the MUSIC to mourn jeralt as well. literally the music from this game is so, so good. i love how cohesive it is.

22) Unpopular or rare ship/support you really like, and why? ohohohoo well. my 3H otp is hubert/dorothea/edelgard/byleth. and ferdie too, why not. any combination of those 5, really. I saw the found family trope in the eagles and went 'is someone going to add romance to that' and did not wait for an answer. poly eagle rights. 'co-dependence' feels a little.. like a damnation, but when it comes to shipping, i very much enjoy those complex war-weathered relationships that are too entangled to separate. (sidenote: that's not exclusive to my fire emblem fanning. i see a fucked up group of fictional friends and i start making polycule onboarding jokes.) The other ship i'm ride or die for that counts as rare is dorothea/hubert!! I'm obsessed with their no children by the mountain goats vibe. their canon end card is probably one of my favourites, and honestly i just think they have some Discussions^tm to have with each other, which is why i crave their ship content lmao. my other otp that i do not think gets enough love is leonie/ignatz!! mostly based in my own headcanons about them, but I love them very very much. I think they'd have such an interesting post-war dynamic (as archers, as 'commoners', something something their utility to the deers/world in a post-war ceasefire environment flipped, both grapple with the idea of debt - to jeralt/her village and to his parent's wishes/raphael) and honestly i would sell off the remaining inch of my soul for more of them. i love them so much. I've been chipping away at a deers post-war!au fic about exactly that, but i lost a solid few months worth of work on it and now i'm so unmotivated to finish it :') i'm also SO on board for Edelgard/Ingrid as (and idk if it's rare or unpopular, but) most of the work i've seen for them has been absolutely class, and the very, very niche (to the point i'd almost consider it a crackship) Edelgard/Leonie. but that one's purely self indulgence <3
