things about mei and akuis relationship that i find adorable
Akui loves holding or squishing Mei's face before kissing him, and whenever he does this Mei gets a stupid little smile on his face because he knows he's about to get kissed and that stupid little smile is the reason Akui keeps doing it. He loves his smile so much.
Mei loves putting hair clips in Akui's hair. Akui's parents got him a lot of hair clips when he was younger but he never used them because they're girly and caused him dysphoria, but now he never leaves the house without at least one (1) in his hair that Mei put there. Mei loves messing with Akui's hair and the hair clips are his favorite thing to put in it, they're all of his favorite colors too.
Mei was shorter than Akui during the first two (2) years of their relationship and Akui loved carrying him everywhere. He just loved holding him so much. Mei ended up growing to 5'8 while Akui stayed at 5'4 and Akui still tries carrying him everywhere.
Akui has stretch marks he's really insecure about and Mei always makes sure to remind him that he loves all of him, not all of him with some exceptions. He lists off the things he loves about Akui and always emphasizes the things he knows he's insecure about, like his scars, stretch marks, height, ect. And Akui does the same thing when listing off the things he loves about Mei, always emphasizing what he's insecure about, like his scleras, his voice, and his own scars. They always remind each other that "all of you means all of you, not exceptions" and the moments they do this are never planned, they just happen.
Due to stress from UA, there was a time when Mei had just a full week of nightmares and had trouble sleeping because of them. Akui was there for him and would help him fall asleep, and he was always there in case he woke up again. Because of this, Akui started sleeping over as much as he could "just in case it happened again", but really he loved being able to fall alseep with Mei in his arms and didn't want it to stop.
Mei loves Gen4 MLP, he even has some ocs he's made and a self insert he created just because he wanted to be friends with Toola Roola and Coconut Cream. He loves talking about MLP and Akui loves listening to him. Everytime Mei talks there's always something new Akui's just now finding out about the show. He's never liked any version of MLP before, it made him uncomfortable because of how girly it was, but he could listen to Mei talk about it for hours because it makes both of them happy.
Akui hates Pro Heroes but hell if he doesn't listen to Mei ramble about how amaing his grandfather is. Hitoshi Shinsou is the only Pro Hero Akui can tolerate and it's only because Mei loves him so much and talks about him so much.

I’m not sure when the next soulmate friday is going to be guys. This upcoming week I’m back in school and it’s my birthday next weekend. March 5. My family is celebrating on Friday and I have a dentist appointment that day. I might try for Saturday… actually yeah. Let’s do March 4. I might even get some done for the 3rd and post.

so btw it’s finals season for me but my last one is on the 10th and i’m moving out the 11th. my brain is too mushy for complicated longfics rn so apologies but it will likely be about that long until the new CTL chapter comes out. FF 11 i will try to put up next week since it’s already edited but there is a chance i will not for…idk. reasons. i don’t pretend to know how my brain works
however, my braincells are NOT too mushy to work on shiny new oneshots, so i’m taking advantage of that to build up a backlog to post during the summer hiatus.
