It's midnight right now and I can't help reflecting on how crazy everything was with Long Live the Pumpkin Queen. Tim Burton read Shea's proposal on rewriting Sally's past to be a kidnapped daughter of Governors in a ragdoll town and APPROVED it with no major changes requested.

Tim Burton and Disney read her further proposal on having Queen Elizabeth II idolized in the book and saw NOTHING wrong with that and told her to go with it.

She also said they "loved the ideas". Had very little changes they wanted.

Why does this keep me up at night.

it is so cringe being a fan of tim burton's old work and then looking at what he's known for now. dude really coulda just stfu, stayed in his weird (affectionate) little lane and kept making weird (affectionate) little stories about pathetic goths encountering phenomena beyond their comprehension but nooooooooo nooooooooooo noooooooooooooooooo he had to sellout more and more until he became the very antithesis to his early work!! he had to gain success and subsequent hubris to reveal himself just a weird (derogatory) racist little wanker. genuinely, as someone who wanted to be involved with film since i was a kid in no small part because of how much I loved his early work, it's soooo disappointing - especially as a fan of colour. you either die a hero, etc

So Mom just heard this on Facebook, and digging around it’s an unconfirmed rumor, but apparently the rumor is Johnny Depp could be cast in the Beetlejuice sequel--directed by Tim Burton.

The first words out of my mouth when Mom tells me this: “I TOLD you Tim Burton would be the first one to hire him.”
