Sometimes you questioned you and Miles’s relationship. Not in a bad way though. He was the sweetest boy you knew, at times he was too sweet, but that was just how he showed he cared. You both had been friends since elementary. Yeah, maybe you shared a kiss under the slide, or used to crush on each other, but you both left that in the past. There was no feelings there anymore..Right?

He always did little stuff like that, but after he’d always clarify it was in a best friend way, just incase.
Before you could get back to drawing there was a knock at your window, and a boy with a bag of food in his hand.
“Miles I told you I wasn’t hungry.” You said with a bit of a frown on your face. You couldn’t help but feel guilty when people did stuff for you, even if they didn’t mind.
“You said you weren’t hungry but you be lying soo…” He came into your room and closed the window, placing the food on your desk and flopping back on your bed.
“So what’s been up witchu y/n? You still talking to that boy from art?”
“I was never talking to him, we literally just sit next to each other in class.” You shrugged turning your back to him at your desk. He came over your shoulder to look at your sketchbook.
“You know you can take breaks right? Arts supposed to be fun.”
“I know, I’m tryna get this scholarship.”
“You will. Just chill with me for now.” He responded, closing your sketch book and getting his food out of the bag.
You both started eating and talking together, completely ignoring the time. Miles was right though, art had been consuming you at this point. He just didn’t want you to lose the fun in being creative.
“Anyways, I got us some tickets to a concert, guess who?” He looked up at you with a faint smirk and a mouthful of food.
“Miles you didn’t have to.”
“But I did. Now guess.” He responded quickly.
“I dunno? You really didn’t have to though..”
“Oh well, guess you’ll see who when we go on Friday.” He shrugged and smiled. “Just know you’ll love it.”
For some reason the room had a bit of tension in it, you couldn’t put your finger on why, and you wondered if miles felt the same way.
“Who you lookin cute for?” He said quickly, still looking down at his plate.
“Whatchu mean I’m just wearin pajamas?”
“Oh. You just look really pretty.” He said looking up from his plate with a faint smile.
“Mhm, thank you miles.” You chuckled a little, playing with your food with your fork. “Why you really come over here?” You said, looking up from your plate this time.
“What I can’t see my bestie?” He laughed, raising an eyebrow.
“No like…nevermind.” You said shaking your head a bit.
“You said you was hungry so I brung you food.” He shrugged quickly.
You genuinely couldn’t tell if miles had feelings for you or not. Honestly he acted like this to everyone, not on this scale obviously but he was a sweet person. Your brain was scrambled at this point, anybody looking at you could tell you had something on your mind.
He reached for his phone and sighed, the time was 12pm and his mom wanted him to come home.
“I gotta go, it’s getting mad late.”
“I wanted to ask you..nevermind it’s nothing.” You quickly said, sighing a little.
He got up from your bed and leaned down to press a kiss on your cheek.
“Stop overthinking it y/n.” He said before climbing out of your window.
You sat on your desk chair frozen in place. What just happened? What did he mean by that? A heavy sigh left your lips as you fell back on your bed and clutched your pillow in your arms.
A text pinged through your phone before you fell asleep.

Poe Party Is A Very Pretty Show.
I've thought that every time I watched it.
I think I'm up to 6 times now? idk.
The humor is probably the first thing that comes to mind with this show, and rightly so, the comedy is great, but it's also just so nice to look at! So I wanted to show some love for the visuals and awesome camera work, too.
I've wanted to try this art exercise where you watch a movie or whatever and sketch out the different compositions when scenes/camera angles change and whatnot so you can learn some composition tricks and see what works and looks good, so I was like, Hey! Perfect show for it right here!
I started this little project for Rewatchers 2000 last week (vastly overestimating my drawing speed and time management skills 😅) and I finished it today, so here are all the mini composition study sketches I did!
No close-ups. I was lazy. Y'all can zoom if you want. <3
These are just tiny rough sketches because it was also supposed to be an exercise in not spending too much time on what were meant to be quick drawings, buuuut I forgot that a few times so some of these are way more detailed than others, lol.
I also didn't redraw every single shot I like, or else I'd still be going, so this is really more of a little sampling of Poe Party's majesty. Special shout-out to Chapter 6 in particular, which has a lot of cool visuals where the camera is constantly moving so I couldn't exactly capture that w/ static sketches. 🥲

i can't focus on anything more in depth than sketches lately smh been so scatterbrained 🤧
anyways, sketch of jin yoshida my beloved, one of the most interesting side characters in the game for how little we know about him and yet how terrifying his segment is lol. according to logs mans was alive up to a MONTH before simon woke up at pathos 2. that's crazy. and also means he and sarah were the last two humans alive for some time 🥲
i wonder if jin was attempting to leave in some last ditch effort to find some form of food for them when he got wau-ified. i'd imagine it was quite hard on sarah when he didn't return and she was left completely alone. i do wonder if she knows what became of him seeing as he seems to have been wandering the front halls of tau for the past month.
i find him interesting as well for being the closest enemy to what simon is composition wise, being a corpse in a diving suit held together by structure gel. i don't know how quickly mans died, knowing the wau it kept him alive for a time and i guess we don't know if jin is TECHNICALLY actually dead 😅 although any semblamce of his self is gone - he may just be heavily mutated. but this was a sketch attempt at him mid-transformation i suppose, before his helmet is breached and totally consumed by wau tendrils, delusional and lost in the halls of tau poor bby 🥲

So I've been trying to read more stuff on the al ghuls in comics and I already know so much can be.....counterintuitive depending on writing, but at one point I think in son of the demon ras says he fought the axis powers then death and the maidens he left Nyssa in a concentration camp 😭😭😭 how do u even parse thru everything tbhhhhh
Death and the Maidens is a run i read once and never want to touch again. Might be one of the worst comic runs i have ever read. I don’t hate many things but I hate that run so much I wish I could forget it.
It’s exactly what I mean when I say there’s moments of Ra’s being so unnecessarily evil, and it’s usually just to make another character look better/stronger/tougher. (Fanon does this too, especially with the other bat boys who afaik don’t have deep relationships with Ra’s like Bruce and Damian do.)
What reason does Ra’s (who is supposed to be a Brown Man and an extreme environmentalist) have to work with Hitler and let his own family suffer at the hand of Nazis??? Most of that was to build up Nyssa’s character as the “feisty bad girl oldest sister with daddy issues”. I think that wasn’t a great choice.
For many obvious reasons. In a world where anything can happen because it’s fiction, why use the suffering and tragedy of real people to portray a character being bad/evil? Why do you have to pair him off with some of the worst real life people? Also, how relevant is Nyssa’s entire character anyways? She doesn’t show up or do anything significant anymore. I would argue she wasn’t significant then either.
(There was also the weird pseudo incestuous thing with Nyssa and Talia where she took off all of Talia’s clothes and had her crawling around and clinging to her while naked that just…feels like it was written by A Man™️)
And it’s very much a product of its time. The 2000’s were…kind of bad for a lot of comics. It’s not a wild thing to believe that the villain who’s supposed to be Arab man in a post 9/11 world is compared to the likes of hitler for no reason other than to show readers he’s supposed to be a bad guy that we all need to hate.
Recently, in comics, Ra’s has had a redemption and has admitted his wrongdoings. Followed by him turning himself over to the authorities and wanting to share the science of the Lazarus Pit and his knowledge of Physiology with the rest of the world. Damian later came to understand that Ra’s did this because he was 100% serious about turning his life around and an “I’m sorry I was bad” wasn’t enough to prove to everyone that he wanted to be better.
Everyone can decide for themselves if they like this take on Ra’s or if they prefer him evil. At the end of the day it’s not my job to make sure everyone enjoys the character the way I do and learns what to ignore or look past. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That being said…nobody has to like my art or my headcanons or my takes on characters. Especially the Al Ghul’s. The things I make are not canon and I really don’t want them to be canon. I just like to create things and I like drawing cute stuff ! So…can y’all please be mindful of some of the tags and comments you leave on some of my sketches 🥲
I guess I kind of waffled on….the short answer would be some comics are very much written poorly or with some kind of bias and it’s up to you to decide if you want to acknowledge it. (Canon doesn’t seem to be acknowledging these things anymore so there’s no harm in us being like “yeah that sucked” and moving on to something else)
And to remember that at the end of the day, Ra’s is not real and he has never hurt real people.

Yo! Today was wild, I went to this weird church festival thingy(too long to explain tbh) but there was a lot of free vegan food and I had a dog to pet and I got my hair braided by a nice lady and at the end they gave out leftover bread and I GOT. SO. MUCH. FREE. BREAD!! Like my freezer is fucking full of bread right now! Awesome. I went voting ofc(unfortunately the put me in a different area so I didn't see my name on the ballot :( SAD! Anyway. And then I went to the LGBT+ film festival where I volunteer at and I watched a pretty mid movie and talked to a lot of people which was awesome so I'm making friends with everyone there even if I never see them again after the end of the week(this festival is making me so hyper like idk it's so fun!) and then there was a burlesque show and that was epic. So yeah, lots happened today and I'm so happy~ How about you?
Ok, but you can never go wrong with some delicious bread 🤌🏻. So happy they found a way to not throw it out! That's cool!!

~My day went okay.I stayed home all day, because I'm antisocial and I enjoy the quiet too much 🤣 (boring I know, but i needed to recharge my social battery after the whole week). Spend the day with my dogs, worked in the garden a little since the weather was just perfect 👌🏻 (dude, the spring makes me feel alive again). I have a very busy week ahead of me, I have a workshop/training/whatever that will be at work on Wednesday and i'm excited about that. What I'm not excited about is the work dinner that is planned for us and the rest of crew + my boss, because people (I am SO bad at talking to people and I might make a fool out of myself) and I have zero idea what i am supposed to wear 🥲
Oh oh oh! I forgot to tell you that I sketched a little which I'm very happy about 🤩 i drew some foxes (i LOVE them) and also some borzoi, cause these not so little creatures are too adorable not to draw.

Nope, Flood is my legal name. /j
Uh, actually not very many apart from like, internet usernames. There are two main riffs on my government name that people have used, but no one does anymore.
28. do you collect anything?
Yes! I collect skulls! And also pelts, fossils, crystals, and apparently plushies (bison, wolves, and bats, which have all been weirdly accidental.)
The skull collection is currently somewhere upward of 20, but not everything is displayed because I suck at decorating, and have a somewhat chaotic home.
Pelts, I have numerous cowhides and reindeer as floor coverings, goat skins and a Thompson's gazelle as table cloths, a truly innumerable collection of rabbit hides for decor, crafting, and lining collars, as well as a coyote, fox, and lynx for Renn Faire/cosplay use. This reminds me I have a raw coyote hide in the freezer I've been meaning to throw out for at least a year.
The fossils, crystals, and minerals are strewn about the house and also still in boxes. See the "I suck at decorating" explanation.
EDIT: I forgot the dog collars too. The black dog has over 25 custom ones because I Have Problems.
29. what do you do when you’re sad?
How sad? Ranges from coloring to napping to self harm to drinking on my meds.
30. what’s one thing that never fails to make you happy/happier?
I'm not trying to be edgy or anything here but there's nothing that never fails. Such is the nature of depression and neurodivergence I suppose. I can typically count on the small cat climbing into my chest making me feel content, but there are overstimulation issues. Hiking or just generally being in the wilderness typically works wonders, but we saw how today went 🥲
31. are you messy or organised?
No one has ever accused me of being organized.

33. any hobbies?
:heavy sigh: Yes? No? I've been battling the mental illness for a long time now and my hobbies have mostly died in that pursuit. I think the closest I actively do would be training and trialing the black dog.
(I used to sketch and paint, rock climb, train horses, keep plants/container garden, and intermittently wrote short stories and poetry in earlier years)

HELLO HELLO, I just finished this piece in honor of the Illumi Day, aka 11/11, a very popular headcanon birth date for Illumi 🌸 Illumi Day was a suggestion from the amazing @bungeepuppet and I am happy to contribute to this tiny event! Even if I am late, but uh, I suppose it became usual from me 🥲 I could have finished it earlier, but a close friend was celebrating his own birthday and I couldn't just be an ass and tell him Well sorry dude but I have this fanart that isn't even a commission to finish 😶
I drew the sketch for this fanart in september, when I noticed my headcanon birthday for Illumi (9/9). I was pretty sad to have missed it, and motivation to actually draw has been rather scarce since a few months. I wished to finish though, but I couldn't. But then I heard about the 11/11 heacanon, which I think is a brilliant idea, and I simply knew it was the perfect occasion to finish this piece!
I wanted to draw something among the lines of Hisoka gifting him something for his birthday. Since I wanted to draw Illumi in lingerie (again), I ended up drawing him in a lingerie and harness ensemble. I thought it funny for said harness to be pink because it's kind of Hisoka's color and, well, it might ce off a but weird to gift someone something /you/ like (but it sounds in character for Hisoka to do something like that 😂). But Illumi loves it. Maybe he just really loves harnesses. Maybe wearing it gives him the feeling of having Hisoka close to him. He would never admit it though.
I don't think Illumi cares about birthdays, even less if it's his own. When he was very young Silva and Kikyo probably offered him stuff but he was taught soon enough to stop caring about stuff that are simply futile and unimportant in an assassin's life. But maybe he might just start to do little celebrations again, thanks to Hisoka, the worst person ever but maybe the best thing that ever happened to him. 🥺
That Hisoka plushie thing has been made by Illumi and it's just a silly little idea of mine. Hisoka probably sweats nervously noticing it and the several needles planted in a very specific location... probably wondered for a second if Illumi cursed him or something, but, nah. Illumi's ability don't work that way and we all know the clown is just a horny mess 👁👁
Oh also uh I wanted to save a textless version but I forgor,,,
Might just do a continuation to this scene one day. 👀

So far chapter 5 has been my favorite so far!
 I am so excited every time you post a update this is generally one of my favorite stories that I have been reading. I can’t tell you how happy it makes me that I can play a ruthless killer character and not be punished for it that my character has a supportive loving family they also just happens to be mafia and killers. And the family is my favorite thing about it everything with Luka and the torture scene and I chose to let him torture and I just hung back and watched just completely dominated everything and I could see why Jackal is so in love with him. all the care and concern he has for our character on top of that? 🥰 and I have a little head cannon that little Zoya(My MC) would call him on the phone and he would just teleport to her whenever she wanted.
And grandpa I started losing it when he sat down next to us and was hugging us and patting our head and telling us how proud of us he was and then my character had like a mini panic attack when she started to think about grandpa and Luka dying, which makes sense considering everything that happened to her that she would lose her shit a little bit at the thought of our only family dying. and I was really curious about what exactly Viktor did for work and I read that he’s a photographer and I thought I remembered you saying somewhere that Ash does photography so did he pick it up from Viktor?
And I really am just as excited if not more for all the family scenes then the romance. I think you’re doing something really special with this story.

And yeah, loving and loyal family is kinda my jam 😄 I really love the wholesome dynamics and of course, whenever MC needs his help and calls him, Luka will instantly teleport there no matter what 🥺 This is canon, even if I’m not sure whether it would appear in the story right now.
Also, Luka’s ruthlessness is indeed one of the things that draw Jackal to him and also vice versa for Luka. They’re both drawn to each other’s deadliness and proficiency in what they do.
Luka be like:
But it is also what kinda made their relationship progressed quite slow 😂 Sure, you can sleep with a person that can technically kill you, but truly fall in love—especially for someone like Jackal who is just very cynical in nature. As long as there are no real feelings attached, they’d find it easier to off the other if they end up betraying or stabbing the other in the back 🤣 But of course that was not what happened between Luka and Jackal.
And yes, poor MC is just constantly fearing and worrying about losing another loved one constantly in the back of their head. They’ve experienced it three times in the span of only a decade 🥲 They cling on to their only family left tightly.
As for your question about Viktor’s profession, he worked as a freelance professional photographer to provide for MC. He had always loved taking photos ever since he was a kid. Grandpa and Grandma bought him polaroid cameras and digital cameras and he had photo albums, and you bet he has a lot one for when MC is growing up 🥰 Sadly… The albums would never be fully completed now and the photos stopped around when MC was nine. Maybe one day… MC can fill it in with pictures of their important moments in their life.
I’m not sure about Ash, I don’t think I said that they’re into photography.. Or did I? I can’t really remember anymore. But they are not supposed to, the closest I think is Skylar because they kinda like arts stuff, like poetry and sketching and painting landscapes (although they are not the best) 😆

I was trying to deny it... but come on. I have to admit that I really liked this nameless Emperor who died literally in his first scene. I know his scene is supposed to be scary or something. But hey, I kin the Mystic Mayor. I'm already lost. (wait— why don't both of these men have names?—)
I decided to make a quick shit sketch, AND IT TOOK AND TURNED INTO A MASTERPIECE!
I was sitting and thinking like: WHAT THE—?!
Well, fine. If so, then it's not a shame to publish it 😃☺️
Something tells me that this is the first fanart of this nameless Emperor 😈 (Do I have to give him a name or just keep calling him Emperor? I'm just feel awkward by the fact that there is The Jade Emperor in the LMK and I absolutely don't want them to be confused.)
He didn't have time to appear properly, because he was immediately "overthrown" and "cut". 😋 Also, as far as it is clear from the words of Ivory Lady (left from the Emperor 😃), this old man was a greedy egoist and a «sinner» 😡 So, obviously, no one is going to be fan of this character and perhaps everyone even forgot that he even exists. I mean, I'm definitely going to forget him later, once I've made all the jokes I can—
About the name, I gave to this post. It's kinda hard for to describe it right, because AU is really raw and kinda cringe 🥲
The content there is ocean and deeper, and the text is already huge, so I’ll explain the AU in another post. But briefly: TaNya, the Lady Bone Demon and the Mystic Mayor were defeated (after 4 season) by MK and his team, and then, separately, sealed in a scroll of memory. Only Tan (叹) (in the reinvention - Mìng ZhǎO) knows that the three of them aren't ink monsters, but real souls. Perhaps this is why Ming Zhao behaves so boorishly towards the Emperor, which is just an ink illusion, created to make Lady suffer.

Drawing MASTERCLASS
lol jk thought I’d show some of the process here in case your other favs aren’t online and u have a couple of min to waste while waiting for the bus

On the left, u have janky first draft, and on the right, u have less janky second draft😅. Depending on how much time I spent on draft 2, I might do a final cleaner version, and then then add colours :)
My hard limit for a doodle/comic is 3 drafts for reasons that I will go into below, but basically I find that if I try too hard, it triggers the perfectionist demon and then it’s not fun anymore lmaoo
For me, 2-3 drafts is the balance between making something I can look at without cringing, and still have fun drawing lines and shapes.
Also it’s ok to have a very very, objectively bad first draft. My brain is like Swiss cheese so if I spend too long trying to get something down on (virtual) paper by making it look nice, half the idea floats away before I can make a record of it.
So first of all, since this is the unofficial website for ppl with crippling anxiety (roll call! 🙋♀️), just thought I’d say: if u are on the fence about posting your [content] online, go for it!!
I used to look at all this really cool [content] (art, writing, photography w/e) and be like “wow, that’s some good content! I’ve got a long ways to go before my content can reach that standard!”.
Or sometimes, I would see amazing content with very few notes and think “whoa, if this extremely accurate recreation of the Mona Lisa made with used gum found under park benches has only 12 notes, it’s not really worth posting what I have, right?”
But then at some point I decided that it was easier (for me) to make stuff that was vaguely funny instead of “good”, so I stopped trying to draw the perfect shapes with the perfect shading, etc. and just went with like, the minimum accuracy required for an object to be recognizable lol.
I’m not saying don’t chase your dreams or whatever, but try not to force yourself into a style or content type that doesn’t suit you. I have a short attention span and a zillion ideas, so for me, it’s actually much more satisfying to make these goofy little doodles bc I can do quick sketches between procrastinating at work, or while I’m watching my dinner rotate in the microwave 🥲.
When I was in my “every drawing must be perfect” phase, I would spend hours on making sure the proportions were realistic, and the lines were clean, and spend days or weeks in a single piece. Some people are suited to this kind of work and have the patience to see it through, but for me it was very unsatisfying and sapped my motivation so I decided to be realistic about my abilities + the time I have available to improve my skills (I think this is very important bc u might have the patience and the work ethic to practice, practice, practice until you are at the top of your game, but if you have a job or school or other obligations, it might not fit into your schedule) and do a kind of compromise.
Yeah, I’m still envious of other people’s content and no, I don’t think my content is the BEST I can do, but it’s a balance between doing what I like and getting satisfaction out of it. Sometimes, if you push yourself too hard, you end up hating what was supposed to be a hobby, u know?
