The Oni had made sure that Noah was kept busy as he got everything ready for the day. While he wasn't the best as romantic ANYTHING, he was going to try to make their first Valentine's Day together something special. He'd been in and out of the Gang's headquarters repeatedly through the day, while she was kept busy with one thing or another by any member of the Gang. Should she try to walk toward him while he was in the area, someone would drag her off to do something.

It would take a few hours for him to get everything set. Once he was ready he'd chuckle as he walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her small frame.

"Hey, sweetheart, got a surprise for ya."

The Oni had to hope that she wasn't too mad about being kept way from him for so many hours. She'd likely had a chance to make homemade chocolate for him, if that was something she wanted to do, at least. He'd end the embrace and merely reach out for her hand before leading her to the area he'd set up for their date.

full of spoilers.. duh

archon quest act i

they're referring to the eremites. couldn't leave sumeru without one last sprinkle of racism lmao.. fr love how this was one of the first things i saw in fontaine. "see something, say something." STFU!!!

the fontaine VAs fucking STEPPED UP!! like why is lyney's VA so good.. the decision to open the quest with three of the most off-putting and unnerving characters so far.. lyney truly sounds deceiving, it really felt like you couldn't trust him. and then lynette is just ominous

and then furina.. miss focalors, the star of the mf show. whatever they're paying the VA is not enough because she's incredible. bravado, insecurity, instability, fear, hunger.. all the emotions are portrayed so well

fuck them for this one.. THERES SO MUCH TO UNPACK. i mean, supposedly teyvat has flooded before, this would not be the first. they're so unsubtle with the noah's ark and biblical themes. AND ARE WE GONNA TALK ABOUT THE TEAR?? THE LYNEY PARALLEL?? WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN

the traveler bringing this up as if they didn't directly contradict each other. also another point. if the oratrice relies off belief in justice, not necessarily the archon, could that be applicable to other archon related things? this is feels odd because sumeru and mondstadt's people's entire philosophies rely off of wisdom and freedom respectively, yet they hold the "weakest" archons. and then there's inazuma, where modern citizens hate the raiden's vision of eternity, yet the raidens are arguably the strongest we've met yet

fr tho i loved the fact that we had a real prelude for this region.. i think the excuse to make something a little more isolated and establishing in it's plot is already super beneficial for whats to come. we got a lot more character exposition, and even the time to install these cool archon quest specific mechanics. i loved solving everything, it was all SO fun but they also got to have these really emotional beats, i feel this is some of their best pacing yet.

imo the last half of sumeru really helped hoyoverse find their stride, fontaine so far has similar storytelling energy to the whole heist bit of sumeru.

the best thing however might've been the SCORE??? they went out of their league with this one, it's the most fitting, noticable and influential instrumental work they've done in an quest imo

━ Follows the Inazuma Archon Quest, after the Traveler safely arrived at Inazuma. Upon their arrival, they meet an odd group of miscellanous friends, fight in a war against the Shogun, end the Vision Hunt decree, and witness a comrade's, as well as an enemie's, death.

✦ INTERLUDE. A Winter's Night Lazzo

━ Follows the Genshin Impact's official YouTube video "A Winter's Night Lazzo", wherein the Harbringers gather to mourn the death of Rosalyne, a comrade they lost in Inazuma, and begin to plan their next step in seizing yet another Gnosis. Later, it is revealed that the Doctor has decided to make an appearence in the Ciy of Wisdom, unfortunately for a young woman.

✦ ACT IV. Truth Amongst the Pages of Purana

━ Follows the Sumeru Archon Quest, where the Traveler is on the search for Lesser Lord Kusanali to inquire further about their missing sibling's whereabouts, only to get roped into more trouble involving the Akademiya and the Fatui, having to save Nahida and yet another city from evil.

✦ ACT V. Masquerade of the Guilty

━ Follows an original storyline (as Fontaine has yet to be released), in which the Traveler overhears news and chatter of an on-going event in the City of Justice, and makes a trip there with their trusty companion Paimon, only to find that a hero is needed yet again. The Traveler is reunited with a few old friends, as well as meets several new other acquaintences, including a figure that reminds them oddly of the God of Justice...

✦ ACT VI. Incandescent Ode of Resurrection

━ Follows an original storyline (as little is known about Natlan), where the Traveler and Dehya visit the City of War and meet a promising young street brawler who offers to aid them in their search for the Pyro Archon, Murata. During their stay, the Traveler agrees to participate in a brawling event, much like the Warrior's Spirit event, meeting a little but powerful girl named Iansan.

✦ ACT VII. Everwinter Without Mercy

━ Follows an original storyline (since Snezhnaya is as mysterious as the Fatui Harbringers are), where the Traveler is invited to visit Childe and his family, under the pretense of the Tsaritsa's wishes, which was to get closer, to observe and keep a watchful eye over the Traveler. The Tsaritsa has not yet viewed the Traveler as a threat, simply as an obstacle, or a pawn in a game she simply needs to find a way to maneuver around or knock over. Meanwhile, Teucer had wandered away from his brother's protective line of sight, and ends up in the Zapolyarny Palace.

✦ POSTLUDE. Come Find Me Again

━ Follows an original storyline (since the ending of Genshin Impact is unclear), where the Traveler has finally be reuinted with their sibling, however, they must fight against them in order to save the entire world of Teyvat. Their sibling desires to lay ruin to Teyvat, as they were devastated by the destruction of their home, and the Traveler must stop them from destroying an entire world. All the while the Unknown Archon watches over them both, knowing full well how this scene will play out...

FACECLAIM: Ho.noka Kou.saka from Lo.ve Li.ve

APPEARANCE: Lady Mia is almost the spitting image of her mother, Noah, aside from the color of her eyes. With vibrant orange hair and sky blue eyes, she can be seen wearing numerous colored dresses and accessories.

She doesn’t appear threatening at all, but don’t let her looks fool you. She (if she really tried) can use a claymore should she get her hands on one and she will do what it takes to protect herself and others.

BACKGROUND: Lady Mia wasn’t a planned child, but both Noah and Huffman didn’t mind at all. It was best for them to get married so they did at the Favonius Church and together they raised the kid. To say the least, their life was average given both Noah’s and Huffman’s parental nature as well as wanting the best for their daughter.

Lady Mia was spoiled, growing up with many ‘uncles’ and ‘aunts’ as the knights of favonius viewed the young kid as apart of the family. The lass was taught how to wield a sword and hand to hand combat. To say the least, she is well equipped to protect herself and others in any situation.

PERSONALITY: Lady Mia is very kind hearted and an outgoing individual. She is popular amongst the young children for her childish nature and often can be seen just outside the walls of Mondstadt playing with them. She is very trusting, but can be just as stubborn as both of her parents when it comes to the safety of others.

VISION: Visionless

Lady Mia, like her parents, is visionless even though she desires a vision as she wants to help protect Mondstadt. She is a follower of Lord Barbatos and values freedom and prays to receive an anemo vision one day - despite not going to have one. She is primarily a swords user, having trained in swordsmanship by the knights. She wants to learn how to use a bow, but she’ll learn that another time.

OTHER NOTES: - Noah and Huffman both raised Mia together, though Noah spends more time with Mia due to Huffman’s horrific work schedule - Lady Mia takes after Noah the most and often bugs her father to come home to spend time with her - They often go on family picnics every other week - Lady Mia and her mother sometimes travel outside of Mondstadt to explore the world together - They have a pet cat named Tubs

"Nonsense, sweetheart, you're ALWAYS pretty to me."

The Oni would smile at Noah, moving close and immediately wrapping his arms around her in a hug. He'd only hold her for a little bit before releasing her, but she knew how affectionate he was. It'd taken her a bit of time to get used to how touchy feely he was, though he never did anything naughty, even when they were alone together.

"When you're sleepin'? I bet you're even cuter than you are when you're awake, honestly."

He'd never seen her asleep so he couldn't say for certain, though he did want her to move into his room with him, he wasn't going to push that idea onto her. He'd happily wait however long it took for her to be ready for that step herself. He'd voiced it to her once, and he'd not brought it up since.

The smell of Noah's blood was making the Oni's BOIL. He was clearly incredibly angry, but she was his mate, so he was bound to be more than slightly protective of her. The fact that he was gripping his claymore tight enough in his hand that his knuckles were white was likely more than a slight bit concerning.

"Y-yeah, you're right. Sorry, sweetheart."

He'd kneel down so she could wrap her arms around his neck before he'd begin walking back in the direction of the Gang's headquarters. He knew basic first aid, but he wasn't a healer like Shinobu was. She could look Noah over, as long as she wasn't busy, of course. He wouldn't want to put her out by any means.

"Just keep your eyes open for me and talk to me, can ya do that for me, Noah?"

Truth or Dare was a game the Gang played a lot, and since the Boss had introduced Noah as a 'new recruit' a bit back, they decided to host a 'Gang Game Night' lo and behind, it was Shinobu's idea to play truth or dare. Perhaps, she thought it was a good way to introduce the newest member to how things ran in the Gang itself.

Perhaps, Shinobu had also taken notice of how Noah often looked at the Boss when he wasn't looking. She was pretty good at catching even the most subtle looks, after all. As Noah crawled over to him, he'd watch her expression, trying to see if she was worried about kissing him, or if she was nervous due to him being an Oni or something. He obviously had no idea she actually had a minor or even a larger 'crush' on him.

"Hey, y'know you..."

Not that he could finish what he was saying, as her soft lips touched his. While the kiss was fairly brief, his cheeks still heated up a bit, the color not appearing to die down even as she asked him if it was okay. He'd lift a hand to the side of her face, just resting it there while he smiled at her.

"Yeah, it was alright, Noah."

The boys and Shinobu were all watching the two pretty closely, but that didn't seem to bother the Oni at all. His free arm would wrap around Noah's small frame to pull her onto his lap, or perhaps just onto one of his thighs. The hand on her cheek wouldn't be removed as he tried to move her. Perhaps it was due to her having kissed him first, but he really felt drawn into reciprocating with a real kiss, not one brought on due to a dare.

"Sorry... I can't help myself."

The hand on her cheek would be adjusted so her face was angled upward. Their eyes would obviously meet as he spoke, but it was possible that prior to her responding to his apology, his lips would be on hers, and the arm around her would tighten slightly. If anyone in the Gang hooped or hollered due to seeing the Boss kiss Noah, the Oni didn't hear them.

The Oni wasn't nervous or anything, but he was very clearly thinking quite deeply about something or another. What it could be was anyone's guess. He'd not spoken to Shinobu or any of the boys about anything.

"What d'ya say we go on a little trip, just the two of us. It'll only be for a few hours, we ain't leavin' Inazuma."

The Oni was being playful with her, he'd wrap his arms around her and pull her against his chest, leaning down to nuzzle the top of her head since he could. He was very affectionate, she knew that, but he was also incredibly touch starved which is why he hugged, cuddled, and held her so much. Her being his mate hadn't changed how he acted with her to any degree.

"Ya like my cuddles and hugs that much, huh? Guess I'm just that awesome."

The Oni only had a travel bag with him as well, within it were a few changes of clothes, and some travel 'rations' he'd prepared for their trip. He knew food on the boats was typically pretty pricy, but he'd also accounted for that in the amount he'd packed. He'd grin upon seeing Noah with her bag his excitement all but palpable.

"Sorry if I rushed you, sweetheart, I'm just really excited."

He'd chuckle before wrapping an arm around her shoulders as the two of them began walking toward Ritou, where they were going to be catching the ship that would take them to Liyue. He knew things were likely still getting set up at the moment, which was one of the reasons they'd agreed to leave early. That, and so they could get a room at the inn they planned on staying at. Sure, it was about an hour walk from Liyue Harbor, but that was fine by him. He was happy to carry her if he needed to do so.

"I made sure to bring some extra Mora that way if we get hungry on the way there or the way back we can grab a meal on the boat."

"What did you say, sweetheart? You're... sure?"

The Oni was looking at Noah, she seemed to be looking most anywhere aside from at him. He wasn't sure he'd heard her correctly, which was why he'd asked her to reiterate what she'd said moments before. They'd never talked about it before, so, hearing the words as they'd been said, were more than slightly shocking to him. Of course, he knew it was possible, after all, but they were still fairly young. Just in their twenties and all, while it wasn't too early, they weren't married.

He'd remain where he was sitting, watching her for any sign that she was happy, or, at the very least, okay. It was a pretty big deal after all, and while he'd had no intention of leaving her before, he certainly wasn't going to leave her now. Not unless she wished him to do so, of course, but he didn't think that was going to happen. Or, rather, he didn't expect that to happen. Not now, at least, not in this instance.

"Are... you... uh... is..."

He'd groan and rub a hand down his face, keeping his sunset eyes focused on her. All he really wanted to do was go over to her, scoop her into his arms, and hold her. Only, he wasn't sure that's what she'd want at the moment. Not with the news she just gave him, at least. He could be wrong, he knew she loved being in his arms, she'd told him she felt safe there.

"Are... we gonna be okay, Noah? I know it wasn't planned, and we'd never really talked about the possibility, but now..?"

He'd swallow thickly before biting his bottom lip hard enough to draw blood. It would be pretty obvious that the Oni was a big ball of nerves at the moment. Given the news though, that was likely to be expected.

"I ain't gonna let you do this alone. I promised you I'd be by your side no matter what, and I intend to keep that promise. I'm an Oni of my word."

Noah felt a little lonely as of late but she didn't know why. Perhaps she was a bit homesick. Yes, Inazuma was a home now too but you sometimes just miss where you come from, you know? She leaned against Itto in thought, looking for some comfort as she knew he would gladly supply.

"Somethin' on your mind, sweetheart?"

The Oni would lean down and kiss the crown of her hair before adjusting himself to be able to supply her with as much affection and attention as he could. As her boyfriend it was his job to do what he could to cheer her up. If she mentioned being homesick, he'd have no issues going with her to Mondstadt again. It had been a while since he met her family and all.

He'd hum softly before nuzzling into her if he could, his arms tightening briefly around her considerably smaller frame. There'd been no talk about no longer being able to travel. He was able to take commissions in Inazuma, Liyue, and Mondtstadt, but he'd not been to Sumeru or Fontaine yet so he couldn't take any in those nations just yet. He'd not want to stay out of Inazuma for too long though. His Gang and his Granny were there, and they were all he had aside from Noah herself.

"You know that general from Watasumi island? The one with the ears and tail?" Noah asked. "Is it weird that I find him really cute? N-not in a attraction sense! It's just his ears are so fluffy and I've seen his tail wag. It's so cute!~" Noah, your animal lover is showing. "I'm worried I'm being insulting by thinking that though."

"Ya mean General Gorou? Yeah, I know him. We're actuall-y friends."

The Oni would look at Noah while listening to her speak, she was saying some pretty interesting things. While he wasn't sure what Gorou was classified as, as far as Youkai went, he knew the other male WAS a Youkai of some sort, after all, humans didn't have ears and tails.

He'd loft a brow as she seemingly flustered herself slightly before he'd start laughing at what she said.

She was worried he was going to be jealous if she said she found Gorou cute, but like she was attracted to the other male.

"Noah, sweetheart, there's nothin' wrong with findin' someone cute. He IS cute, but I doubt he'd be happy we're talkin' about him like he's an animal."
