SO I managed to get the iconic millennial PC game The Oregon Trail 5 (a la “you have died of dysentery”) working on my laptop, and for obvious reasons* I'm fascinated by both The Beatles and the Donner Party so naturally I've decided to take The Beatles on the Donner Party route.
*I'm a big fan of suffering.
They're leaving Independence, Missouri in June 1846 just like the Donner-Reed Party, and are headed for what is now California. John is in charge (I imagine he wouldn't go otherwise) so if/when he dies it's game over.
(btw I don't want to clog up anyone's dashboard so you might want to block the tag 'the beatles oregon trail 5' bc I'll tag everything with that.)

And Harrowhark is out here catching every disease known to man, but Gideon breaks an arm and then suddenly falls ill and dies???

oh you know i just realized why I thought Exorcistic: The Unofficial Rock Musical feels incomplete. A lot of comedy musicals, despite the riffing and or parodying, at some point drop the act and do something sincere ("Not Your Seed" from The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals, the romantic subplot in Peter Pan Goes Wrong, "When The World's at Stake" from The Trail To Oregon, "To Thine Own Self (reprise)" from Something Rotten!, "Amanda's Song" from Saw The Musical).
it never does that, which i guess is fine, but feels incomplete to me since there's usually a moment where the laughs stop and you get a breather. Like that love scene in The Velocipastor. That one's not a musical, but you get it

The Ooze Trail: Arc 2
For the first part of this chaotic series of Oregon Trail liveblogs featuring the TMNT bros, please refer to this post.
Live Updates Round 5
Okay, last time we left off, the boys had just reached The Parting of the Ways, which is about the halfway point of the trail. Leonardo's leg is still broken, but I'm sure absolutely nothing bad will happen from here on out, right? RIGHT?
Don got bit by a rattlesnake.
Michelangelo is exhausted again. I ask myself why this keeps happening when his character has the "Frail" trait (which is about as out of character for Mikey as you can get.)
"Time for another harrowing river crossing!" I say, when this is one of the ones that has a ferry. I even got a discount due to Donny using his powers of UwU on the ferry operator! (The "Charming" trait is broken af.)
Came across a member of the Oregon Dragoons getting bullied by some creditors. Michelangelo ended up saving the day like the Turtle Titan he is. (And by that, he... actually just talked to them and convinced them to leave.)
MICHELANGELO, PLEASE STOP FORGETTING TO TIE THE BACON BAG.
Arrived at Fort Bridger. Leonardo got his broken leg looked at and the boys attended a wedding!
It's Raphael's turn to get bit by a snake. Donny to the rescue!
He's sick. Oh dear. * IMMEDIATELY SPAMS HERBS *
An ox cracked its hoof again. How Donny failed to clean it properly, I do not know.
The same ox is now lame. I opted to set it free instead of slaughter it for meat, even though it'll probably just be eaten by coyotes or bears in its state.
I'm absolutely sure nothing bad will happen if I direct Michelangelo to drink from this spring.

The wagon axle got damaged. Luckily Don, being the genius carpenter that he is, was able to repair it!
Made it to Soda Springs. Ooooh boy, we are really in for it from this point onward.

is there anyone out there that can help me find this game?
Hi, so ive been on and off searching for this specific release of The Oregon trail ( by Gameloft ) for roughly ten years now. i believe this game was released around the timeframe of 2010-2011, and the price was somewhere around 2-4 dollars.
every single time i have tried to search for this game, its been nothing but dead links or a virus ridden site or a site that does not exist anymore or broken pages and more dead links. i am wondering if anyone out there also recodnizes playing this specific version of this game and if they know where to download and play it today? or where else i could post about this to find this game?
NOTE: I am NOT talking about the spinoff: the Oregon trail: American settler, which is a town builder a la farmville. i am talking about the original Oregon Trail game (which also had theese exact characters) and from my memory did NOT have microtransactions and instead was a one time purchase
