Two Idaho lawmakers have introduced a bill to charge those who administer mRNA vaccines with a misdemeanor.

Sen. Tammy Nichols, R-Middleton, and Rep. Judy Boyle, R-Midvale, sponsored HB 154. It was introduced in the House Health & Welfare Committee on Feb. 15 by Nichols. According to the bill text, "A person may not provide or administer a vaccine developed using messenger ribonucleic acid technology for use in an individual or any other mammal in this state."

That person would then be charged with a misdemeanor.

Nichols said during her presentation to the committee, "We have issues this was fast tracked."

Nichols said there is no liability, informed consent or data on mRNA vaccines. She later clarified she was referring to the two COVID-19 vaccines, Pfizer and Moderna.

"I think there is a lot of information that comes out with concerns to blood clots and heart issues," Nichols said.

Rep. Ilana Rubel, D-Boise, questioned Nichols' statement that the vaccines were fast-tracked. She said her understanding was that the vaccines were approved and survived the testing, later approved by the FDA.

Nichols said she is finding it "may not have been done like we thought it should've been done."

"There are other shots we could utilize that don't have mRNA in it," Nichols said.

MRNA is a molecule that assists in making proteins. The COVID-19 vaccines, which are known as mRNA vaccines, help your body make proteins that mimic the COVID virus to help bodies fight off the infection, according to John Hopkins Medicine. MRNA was discovered in the early 1960's, John Hopkins states. Some were used to fight the Ebola virus. Researchers are also currently working to use mRNA to prevent other respiratory viruses.

The bill requires a future vote in the committee to pass onto the House floor for debate.

♥️ Kyman Week | Day 7 💚

✨ Free Day! - First Dance ✨

Holy shit it’s been one helluva week! I’ve had so much fun drawing and writing for this pairing. But alas, all good things must come to an end. (Won’t stop me from shipping Kyman though.)

For Free Day, I decided to draw a teenage Kyle and Cartman dancing at their skewl prom 😎

Loud pop music filled up the gymnasium of South Park High School. As upbeat as the music was, it wasn’t enough to lighten up Kyle’s mood. Everyone had partners to be around and dance with. Kenny got together with Tammy again, Craig and Tweek were sitting at the tables talking with their friends, Tolkien and Nichole were dancing to the music, even Stan and Wendy seem to be enjoying each other’s company. Yet once again, Kyle is alone with no one to dance with. He just sat down at one of the tables with a drink in his hand, hoping someone would notice him. Anybody.

“Sup Jew?” Kyle recognized that voice immediately. Oh god. Not HIM!

“Just when I thought the night couldn’t get any worse!” Kyle turned around and saw Cartman who had a can of soda in his hand. “Oh you think I’m enjoying this party? Barely anyone wants to dance with me!”

“Well gee I wonder why.” Kyle responded sarcastically

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Cartman squinted his eyes in suspicion.

“Well for one, you’re Cartman. And secondly, you’re a horrible dance partner.”

“I’ll have you know that I’m one of the best dance partners ever! You just haven’t seen my awesome moves yet, Kahl!” he put his soda can down and stared at Kyle with intensity

“Prove it then, fatass.” Kyle leaned forward until the two were extremely close to each other’s faces.

Suddenly, another song came on the radio. Everyone found their dance partner and went out onto the main stage. Perfect timing. As the song started, Cartman grabbed Kyle by the hands and pulled him onto the main stage where everyone else was.

“Ready when you are.” Kyle smirked. The pair held each other’s hands and started to take small steps. As the music got louder the two moved faster until Cartman twirled Kyle around. That’s when Kyle took the lead and dipped Cartman who was in shock of the sudden move. Kyle pulled him back up until his eyes were staring at his enemy.

“Not bad for a dirty Jew rat from Jersey.” Cartman commented in an almost flirting manner. “Shut the fuck up and dance with me.” Kyle retorted. Kyle was about to take a turn and twirl Cartman (or at least try to) when suddenly Cartman took control once again and his left hand was placed around Kyle’s shoulder. After more quick steps and small leaps, he spun Kyle around and he finally caught him with a dip.

The song was almost over but the two could only look into each other’s eyes with smug smiles. “You’re still a horrible dancer.” Kyle spoke. Cartman chuckled. “So are you.”

Despite the fact that most of jazz’s major innovators and performers have been African American, the overwhelming majority of jazz journalists, critics, and authors have been and continue to be white men. No major mainstream jazz publication has ever had a black editor or publisher. Ain’t But a Few of Us presents over two dozen candid dialogues with black jazz critics and journalists ranging from Greg Tate, Farah Jasmine Griffin, and Robin D. G. Kelley to Tammy Kernodle, Ron Welburn, and John Murph. They discuss the obstacles to access for black jazz journalists, outline how they contend with the world of jazz writing dominated by white men, and point out that these racial disparities are not confined to jazz but hamper their efforts at writing about other music genres as well. Ain’t But a Few of Us also includes an anthology section, which reprints classic essays and articles from black writers and musicians such as LeRoi Jones, Archie Shepp, A. B. Spellman, and Herbie Nichols.
