Cobra Kai (S5E2)
It’s interesting that Terry Silver knows of Uesugi Kenshin, the most formidable Samurai in Sengoku Jidai, that even the great Takeda Shingen and Oda Nobunaga had trouble invading his territory.
Tumblr media
Takaaki Enoki as Uesugi Kenshin in the Japanese film, Heaven and Earth (1990)
Interestingly there are legends of the “Sword of Kenshin”. Upon his death, Kenshin entrusted it to his successor, Kagekatsu, to lead the Uesugi Clan.
But later, Kagekatsu gifted the valuable sword to the Imperial Regent, Toyotomi Hideyoshi at Osaka Castle to pledge his loyalty.
The sword is said to have been lost during the Siege of Osaka by Tokugawa Ieyasu who unified Japan under his Shogunate.
And because the sword was no longer under the possession of Kagekatsu, the Uesugi lost the battle against Date Matsumane, the one eyed Samurai.
So the reason Uesugi Kenshin was formidable in battles was to due his sword, the sword which was not with Kagekatsu when he lost to Date Matsumane.

Cool legend eh?
So I assume Terry Silver knows of the legend which is why he was boasting about having the sword implying that he is now formidable.

OKAY THIS IS A VERY RANDOM SEKAI VOCALOP DUMP BECAUSE IM GOING THROUGH A HYPERFIXATION
my autistic brain couldn't help but notice that mafumafu is the only first rotation producer who hasn't reappeared in the game since my dear come back it's been almost three years (technically police piccadilly is also missing but he's working for deco via otoiro so i assume he's involved at least somewhere)
and since i'm at it there are 11 songs where deco*27 is credited in some way 4 of them are commissions and it's upsetting and funny as hell at the same time
kemu technically didn't get a solo event but still helped deco and marasy so 0.5+0.5=1??
almost all of dreamers got niigo commissions (syudou, surii, tsumiki and niru) except for ayase and rokuro but idk if the latter is still active another unit that proseka has completed like a pokedex is elc aka heavenz harry and koyori kamitsubaki are probably next seeing how guiano moimi and misumi are on board as of now
also also!! guiano is the only one whos vs features a non-vocaloid synthesizer because he's affiliated with kafu's developers directly!!!
technically mikito pinocchio and picon are the only producers who have managed to sneak their vocals into the game kashika's original version is a duet between miku and loin but it was cut for some reason... even though roki is literally there
kujira (or whale don't sleep or whatever) has only appeared in the game during cup noodle collaboration and still hasn't been heard from
rambling over peace out remember happiness is stored in "music by"
Ooh this was very interesting thank you anon!
Also adding to your first point: Takuya Watanabe (commissioned for From Tokyo alonside Natsushiro Takaaki) has never had a song in the game since or before.
Some other producers that only got one song during the first year ish and never again are: Hinata Electric Works (Buriki no Dance cover), Karasuyasabou (Showtime Ruler), Umetora (Ifuudoudou cover), CRUSHER P (ECHO cover), yuukiss (Nostalogic cover), doriko (Romeo & Cinderella cover), EZFG (Totemo Itai Itagaritai cover), nanou (Hello How Are You cover) and Sohta (Ikanaide cover).
There’s probably more than that, these are just the ones I can remember. Also some of them are probably inactive or don’t have other notable songs, but I wouldn’t be able to tell you.

Kanae Original Song: Hanataba no Yukue Lyrics Translation
It’s been a while since I did another original Nijisanji Song translyrics and this time, it’s Kanae’s 1M sub + 5th birthday celebration song! Of course, there’s already a translation in the MV itself. What I did here was simply I love how beautiful the lyrics are, so I tried to balance things out and it turned pretty good.
As always, the translation is under the cut below!
Song Title: Hanataba no Yukue (The Boquet’s Whereabouts) Sung by: Kanae Music: Taisuke Composition/Arrangement: Watanabe Takuya Vocal Direction: Natsuhiro Takaaki
tooku de narihibiku SAIREN bokura wo yobisamasu aizu ga kikoeta ka na? doryoku ga mi wo musunda ato tsumitorareta bokura no ikisaki ha? mugendai  tsugou ii kaishaku bakka meguru yo
Sirens are blaring in the distance Can you hear the sound beckoning us to wake up as it tolls? When the fruits of our labor take shape, could we help it if we're lost without a goal? We're far too concerned with incessantly convenient excuses
nagakute  kurakute  kodoku ni michita yoru demo tomo ni ayundekita  hyakumankai
Throughout the million long, dark and lonely nights we've spent together, we've come so far in our journey hand in hand
mae narae no kusari wo muriyari furihodoite kitanda sono saki ni hirogatteita sekai de deatta no irodzuita ichirin wo kiritotte kazaru setsuna datte kabin no mukou ni ha ashita ga matteru
We daringly shaked off this spell of uniformity surrounding us We met in this world as it slowly but surely unfold beyond where we are I preciously showcased this iridescent flower you picked for me Tomorrow awaits us beyond the flower vase
kowakunai nante uso ni naru yo na naki nagara chitta itami mo mitekita kara
It would be a lie if I say that I'm not scared I cried as I succumbed to this pain I've had experienced
rifujin ni nandomo kurutte sono tabi ni nandomo deatta hikage no katasumi  mebuiteita bokura dakara
Driven mad by this myriad of absurdity, and every time I was, we met again time after time as we were sprouting on the far corner under the shade
tooku de narihibiku SAIREN bokura wo yobisamasu aizu ga kikoetanda doryoku ga mi wo musunda ato tsumitorareta bokura no ikisaki ha? dareka jyanakute  anata no tonari ga ii
Sirens are blaring in the distance We can hear the sound that beckoned us to wake up our soul When the fruits of our labor take shape, could we help it if we're lost without a goal? You're someone special, so I'm glad that you're here by my side
dakara mae narae no kusari wo muriyari furihodoite kitanda sono saki ni hirogatteita sekai de deatta no irodzuita ichirin wo kiritotte kazaru setsuna datte kabin no mukou ni ha ashita ga matteru
And so we daringly shaked off this spell of uniformity surrounding us We met in this world as it slowly but surely unfold beyond where we are I preciously showcased this iridescent flower you picked for me Tomorrow awaits us beyond the flower vase
